1. Start simple.
Start with what you know is true.Copy !req
2. My name is Katniss Everdeen.
My home is District 12.Copy !req
3. I was in the Hunger Games. I escaped.Copy !req
4. Peeta... Peeta was left behind.Copy !req
5. Miss Everdeen?Copy !req
6. You can't be in here.Copy !req
7. I had a nightmare.
Just five more minutes.Copy !req
8. You need to sleep.
We can help you sleep.Copy !req
9. Just five more minutes.Copy !req
10. No.Copy !req
11. No, please, don't.
It's just five more...Copy !req
12. Don't touch me! Don't!
No! No! Get off of me!Copy !req
13. Finnick.Copy !req
14. I wanted to go back
for Peeta and Johanna,Copy !req
15. but I...Copy !req
16. I couldn't move.Copy !req
17. They have Annie, too. They took her.Copy !req
18. She's...Copy !req
19. She's in the Capitol.Copy !req
20. I wish she was dead.Copy !req
21. I wish they were all dead
and we were, too.Copy !req
22. Miss Everdeen.Copy !req
23. Colonel Boggs,
District 13's head of security.Copy !req
24. I know you've been discharged, but President
Coin's requested to meet with you first.Copy !req
25. Is there any news?Copy !req
26. I'm just here to escort you.Copy !req
27. We were always told
there was nothing left of 13.Copy !req
28. Capitol bombed the surface to rubble.Copy !req
29. But we're military,
so we learned to survive down here.Copy !req
30. Preparing, training.Copy !req
31. The war never stopped for us.Copy !req
32. There she is. Our Girl on Fire.Copy !req
33. Madam President,
may I present you with The Mockingjay.Copy !req
34. What an honor it is to meet you.Copy !req
35. You're a courageous young woman.
I know how disorienting this must be.Copy !req
36. And I can't imagine what it's like to live
through the atrocities of those Games.Copy !req
37. Katniss, President Alma Coin.Copy !req
38. Please know how welcome you are.Copy !req
39. I hope you'll find some comfort with us.
We've known loss in 13, too.Copy !req
40. This is history.
Right here at this table.Copy !req
41. I apologize. I wish you had
more time to recover, but unfortunately,Copy !req
42. we don't have that luxury.
Please, have a seat.Copy !req
43. Are you aware of what's happened?Copy !req
44. When you fired your arrow
at the force fieldCopy !req
45. you electrified the nation.Copy !req
46. There have been riots and uprisings
and strikes in seven districts.Copy !req
47. We believe that if we
keep this energy goingCopy !req
48. we can unify the districts
against the Capitol.Copy !req
49. But if we don't, if we let it dissipate,Copy !req
50. we could be waiting another
75 years for this opportunity.Copy !req
51. - Everyone in 13 is ready for this.
- What about Peeta? Is he alive?Copy !req
52. I don't know. And I wish that I did.Copy !req
53. But there's no way for me to contact
my operatives inside the Capitol.Copy !req
54. The Capitol has always suppressed
communication between the districts.Copy !req
55. But I know their system very well.Copy !req
56. I managed to break through.
All we need now is the perfect message.Copy !req
57. Katniss, here's what we need to do.Copy !req
58. We need to show them that
The Mockingjay's alive and wellCopy !req
59. and willing to stand up
and join this fight.Copy !req
60. 'Cause we need every district
to stand up to this Capitol.Copy !req
61. The way you did.Copy !req
62. So we're gonna shoot
a series of propaganda clips,Copy !req
63. propos, I like to call them,
on The Mockingjay.Copy !req
64. Spreads the wordCopy !req
65. that we're gonna stoke
the fire of this rebellion.Copy !req
66. The fire that The Mockingjay started.Copy !req
67. You left him there.Copy !req
68. - You left Peeta in that arena to die.
- Katniss, there are so many...Copy !req
69. Peeta was the one
who was supposed to live.Copy !req
70. Miss Everdeen.Copy !req
71. This revolution is about everyone.Copy !req
72. It's about all of us.
And we need a voice.Copy !req
73. Then you should've saved Peeta.Copy !req
74. Maybe you should have
rescued the boy instead.Copy !req
75. Oh, no.Copy !req
76. No, listen to me.
No one else can do this but her.Copy !req
77. This is not the girl you described.Copy !req
78. Obviously, we need to make it personal.
Remind her who the real enemy is.Copy !req
79. She knows who the enemy is.
That's not the issue.Copy !req
80. Unless she's forgotten.Copy !req
81. There's explaining and there's showing.Copy !req
82. Let her see what the Capitol did to 12.Copy !req
83. She can't handle it.
The Games destroyed her.Copy !req
84. This is the only choice you have.Copy !req
85. People don't always show up the way
you want them to, Madam President.Copy !req
86. But that anger, that anger-driven defiance,
that's what we want.Copy !req
87. And we can redirect it.
We need to unite these people out thereCopy !req
88. that have been doing nothing but killing
each other in an arena for years.Copy !req
89. We have to have a lightning rod.Copy !req
90. They'll follow her.
She's the face of the revolution.Copy !req
91. Let her see it. Let her go home.Copy !req
92. Send her.Copy !req
93. I can't believe
you're going through with this.Copy !req
94. You can say "no."Copy !req
95. I need to see it for myself.Copy !req
96. This way.Copy !req
97. 13 swept everything top to bottom,
so you'd be safe.Copy !req
98. You sure you don't
want me to go with you?Copy !req
99. Yeah. I'm sure.Copy !req
100. We'll have our eyes on you from above.Copy !req
101. Figures.Copy !req
102. Hey!Copy !req
103. Come on.Copy !req
104. Don't you wanna see Prim?Copy !req
105. There you go. You're breakin' my heart.Copy !req
106. Egeria!Copy !req
107. We need to fix these lines.Copy !req
108. I won't say "rebels."Copy !req
109. These are senseless acts of defiance.Copy !req
110. And I won't legitimize them.Copy !req
111. We'll call them "criminals."Copy !req
112. "Radicals."Copy !req
113. Otherwise we're breaking my oldest rule.Copy !req
114. Never let them see you bleed.Copy !req
115. Citizens,Copy !req
116. tonight I address all of Panem as one.Copy !req
117. Since the Dark Days,Copy !req
118. Panem has had an unprecedented
era of peace.Copy !req
119. It is a peace built upon cooperation.Copy !req
120. And a respect for law and order.Copy !req
121. In the past weeks,
you have heard of sporadic violenceCopy !req
122. following the actions of a few
radicals in the Quarter Quell.Copy !req
123. Those who choose this destructive path,Copy !req
124. your actions are based
on a misunderstandingCopy !req
125. of how we have survived. Together.Copy !req
126. It is a contract.Copy !req
127. Each district supplies the Capitol.
Like blood to a heart.Copy !req
128. In return, the Capitol provides
order and security.Copy !req
129. To refuse workCopy !req
130. is to put the entire system in danger.Copy !req
131. The Capitol is the beating
heart of Panem.Copy !req
132. Nothing can survive without a heart.Copy !req
133. The criminals that kneel before youCopy !req
134. use symbols for the purpose of sedition.Copy !req
135. Which is why all images
of The Mockingjay are now forbidden.Copy !req
136. Possessing them will be
considered treason.Copy !req
137. Punishable by death.Copy !req
138. Justice shall be served swiftly.Copy !req
139. Order shall be restored.Copy !req
140. To those who ignore
the warnings of history,Copy !req
141. prepare to pay the ultimate price.Copy !req
142. It's okay. We're okay.Copy !req
143. We're all here now.Copy !req
144. Buttercup!Copy !req
145. I smuggled him in.Copy !req
146. I got Dad.Copy !req
147. And I got some of your herbs
from the kitchen.Copy !req
148. They have strict rules.Copy !req
149. I don't know what they'll do
if they find him here.Copy !req
150. You should try to eat something.Copy !req
151. Hello. Good evening.Copy !req
152. And a big welcome to all in Panem.Copy !req
153. I'm Caesar Flickerman. And whoever
you are, whatever it is you're doing,Copy !req
154. if you're working, put down your work.
If you're having dinner, stop having dinner.Copy !req
155. Because you are going to want
to witness this tonight.Copy !req
156. There has been rampant speculation about
what really happened in the Quarter Quell.Copy !req
157. And here to shed a little light on the
subject for us is a very special guest.Copy !req
158. Please welcome Mr. Peeta Mellark.Copy !req
159. Peeta, a lot of peopleCopy !req
160. feel as though they are in the dark.Copy !req
161. Yeah, I know how they feel.Copy !req
162. Now, so set the stage for us.Copy !req
163. Talk us through what really happenedCopy !req
164. on that final and controversial night.Copy !req
165. Well, first off, you have to understand
that when you're in the GamesCopy !req
166. - you only get one wish. It's very costly.
- You're alive.Copy !req
167. - It costs your life.
- I think it costs more than your life.Copy !req
168. How do you mean?
What's more than your life?Copy !req
169. I mean to murder innocent people,
that costs everything that you are.Copy !req
170. Yes.Copy !req
171. So you hold on to that one wish.Copy !req
172. And that night my wish
was to save Katniss.Copy !req
173. Yes.Copy !req
174. I should've just run off with her
earlier in the day like she'd wanted.Copy !req
175. But you didn't. Why?
Were you caught up in Beetee's plan?Copy !req
176. No, I was caught up
trying to play allies.Copy !req
177. And then they separated us and...Copy !req
178. that's when I lost her.Copy !req
179. And then the lightning hit...Copy !req
180. and the whole force field
around the arena just blew out.Copy !req
181. Yes, but, Peeta,
Katniss is the one who blew it out.Copy !req
182. - No.
- You saw the footage.Copy !req
183. No, she didn't know what she was doing.Copy !req
184. Neither of us knew there was a
bigger plan going on. We had no idea.Copy !req
185. - You had no idea?
- No.Copy !req
186. All right. Well, Peeta, there are many
who find this suspicious to say the least.Copy !req
187. It seems as though
she was part of a rebel plan.Copy !req
188. Do you think it was part of her plan
to be almost killed by Johanna?Copy !req
189. Or part of the plan to be
paralyzed by lightning?Copy !req
190. No, we were not part of any rebel plan.
We had no idea what was going on.Copy !req
191. All right. I believe you,
Peeta Mellark. Thank you.Copy !req
192. Yeah.Copy !req
193. And I was going to ask you
to speak about the unrestCopy !req
194. - but I think you might be too upset.
- No, I can.Copy !req
195. - Are you sure?
- Yeah, absolutely.Copy !req
196. - Thank you.
- Yeah.Copy !req
197. I want everyone who's watching to stopCopy !req
198. and to think about
what a civil war could mean.Copy !req
199. We almost went extinct once before.
And now our numbers are even fewer.Copy !req
200. - He's one of them.
- Is this really what we wanna do?Copy !req
201. - He's a traitor.
- Kill ourselves off?Copy !req
202. - Killing is not the answer.
- I can't believe he's doing this.Copy !req
203. Everyone needs to lay down
their weapons immediately.Copy !req
204. - Traitor!
- He's not one of us!Copy !req
205. This is treason!Copy !req
206. Are you calling for a ceasefire?Copy !req
207. Yeah. I am.Copy !req
208. - You're a puppet!
- Hang him!Copy !req
209. I want everyone to stop
the senseless violence.Copy !req
210. - This is not the path to change.
- Traitor!Copy !req
211. It's not the path to justice.Copy !req
212. There can't be a ceasefire.Copy !req
213. Not after everything Snow's done.Copy !req
214. He could have done
a lot of damage tonight.Copy !req
215. Most districts, people are still too afraid
to join. They need the courage.Copy !req
216. Why do you think he said that?Copy !req
217. I don't know. Maybe he was forced.Copy !req
218. He didn't look that bad.Copy !req
219. Maybe he made some kind
of deal to protect you.Copy !req
220. He's still playing the game.Copy !req
221. No! No! No!Copy !req
222. I'm sorry. It's just a nightmare.Copy !req
223. That's okay. I get 'em, too.Copy !req
224. Peeta,Copy !req
225. will you stay with me?Copy !req
226. Yeah.Copy !req
227. Always.Copy !req
228. Hey.Copy !req
229. Can't sleep?Copy !req
230. Tell me what's happening.Copy !req
231. I'm good at keeping secrets.
Even from Mom.Copy !req
232. No one hates the Capitol more than me.Copy !req
233. And I wanna help.
But I just keep thinking,Copy !req
234. even if we win this war,
what happens to Peeta?Copy !req
235. I know he's not safe there,
but he's definitely not safe here.Copy !req
236. I don't think you know
how important you are to them.Copy !req
237. If you want something,
you just have to ask.Copy !req
238. You could demand almost anything.Copy !req
239. They'd have to agree to it.Copy !req
240. I should wake you up
more often, Little Duck.Copy !req
241. Get some sleep now.Copy !req
242. You, too.Copy !req
243. Thank you for agreeing to meet with me.Copy !req
244. I've decided I'll be your Mockingjay.Copy !req
245. But I have some conditions.Copy !req
246. Peeta and the other Tributes,
Johanna Mason and Annie Cresta,Copy !req
247. will be rescued
at the earliest opportunity.Copy !req
248. If and when Peeta is liberated, he will
receive a full and unconditional pardon.Copy !req
249. No punishment will be inflicted.
And the same goes for the other Tributes.Copy !req
250. No.Copy !req
251. It's not their fault
you abandoned them in the arena.Copy !req
252. They're doing and saying
whatever they can to survive.Copy !req
253. Individuals don't make demands in 13.Copy !req
254. There will be a tribunal.
And a fair judgment.Copy !req
255. Thank you.Copy !req
256. The Victors will be granted immunity.Copy !req
257. And you will announce that
in front of the entire population of 13.Copy !req
258. You will hold yourself
and your government responsibleCopy !req
259. or you will find another Mockingjay.Copy !req
260. That's it. That's her. Right there.Copy !req
261. Isn't that who I promised you?
She wears the costume.Copy !req
262. Gunfire in the background.
A hint of smoke.Copy !req
263. Our Mockingjay.Copy !req
264. Madam President, we're losing ground,
because the people are losing heart.Copy !req
265. This is worth the risk.
She's worth the risk.Copy !req
266. Pardons, tribunals. Power of the people.Copy !req
267. It can all be the bedrock
of the new Panem, but,Copy !req
268. in wartime I think even the noblest of
causes can be bent a little bit. Right?Copy !req
269. Do you have any other conditions?Copy !req
270. My sister gets to keep her cat.Copy !req
271. Go away.Copy !req
272. Is it visiting hours again?Copy !req
273. Miss Trinket,Copy !req
274. you see this door.Copy !req
275. It opens. From the inside.Copy !req
276. I've told you, these are the standard
living quarters. Same as everyone.Copy !req
277. You're not a prisoner.
You're free to join the rest of 13.Copy !req
278. Not looking like this.
Thank you very much.Copy !req
279. We have a bigger issue
than wardrobe, Miss Trinket.Copy !req
280. Katniss has agreed to be The Mockingjay.Copy !req
281. - That poor thing.
- And your Girl on Fire is burnt out.Copy !req
282. I need you to join this team now.Copy !req
283. - I need someone she trusts.
- What about Haymitch?Copy !req
284. He's drying out in some
facility a mile down.Copy !req
285. Aiding rebels is not really my forte.Copy !req
286. Miss Trinket, your days
in the Capitol are over,Copy !req
287. no matter what happens here.Copy !req
288. If you wanna play
a prisoner of war, fine.Copy !req
289. Stay here and rot. I'll find someone else
to be The Mockingjay's escort.Copy !req
290. Who?Copy !req
291. Anyone can be replaced.Copy !req
292. Not your Mockingjay.Copy !req
293. There isn't a soul in this dungeon
who knows the first thing about Katniss.Copy !req
294. You honestly believe one of these
cave dwellers is going to take my place?Copy !req
295. No.Copy !req
296. Good afternoon.Copy !req
297. Thank you for interrupting
your schedules.Copy !req
298. They have already been
adjusted to compensate...Copy !req
299. I hardly ever see children around here.Copy !req
300. Please, check in with your unit...Copy !req
301. A lot of them were lost
in an epidemic a few years ago.Copy !req
302. - I have an announcement for the citizens of 13.
- Coin lost her family, too.Copy !req
303. Daughter and a husband.Copy !req
304. And our welcome guests from 12.Copy !req
305. Katniss Everdeen has consented
to be the face of our causeCopy !req
306. to help unite the districts
against the Capitol.Copy !req
307. In exchange, I have promised
several concessions.Copy !req
308. First, we'll assess all opportunities
for the extraction of the VictorsCopy !req
309. held hostage in the Capitol.Copy !req
310. Peeta Mellark,Copy !req
311. Johanna Mason...Copy !req
312. - Finnick, I made the deal for Annie, too.
- ... and Annie Cresta.Copy !req
313. Once freed, they will be granted
full pardon for any and all crimesCopy !req
314. committed against the rebel cause.Copy !req
315. Good.Copy !req
316. That's good, Katniss.Copy !req
317. If Katniss Everdeen
fails to fulfill her dutiesCopy !req
318. the deal will be off.Copy !req
319. Thank you for your attention.
Please, resume your daily schedules.Copy !req
320. - Madam President.
- Effie Trinket.Copy !req
321. Welcome to 13.Copy !req
322. Madam President,
may I say you are so very...Copy !req
323. concise.Copy !req
324. You believe that
there's more to be said?Copy !req
325. - May I speak freely?
- You don't appear to do anything else.Copy !req
326. I'm only talking about salesmanship.Copy !req
327. The thing with revolutions,
they're a tender flame.Copy !req
328. They need to be nurtured
with a little kindling and warmth.Copy !req
329. - Bit of oxygen.
- Oxygen.Copy !req
330. One sure way to put it out
is to smother it.Copy !req
331. Or to use up all the air in the room.Copy !req
332. Excuse me.Copy !req
333. You know what could use
a revolution? That hair.Copy !req
334. Effie?Copy !req
335. - What are you doing here?
- I'm a political refugee.Copy !req
336. - Plutarch rescued you?
- Rescued, yes, that's what he calls it.Copy !req
337. You and I were both in the dark.Copy !req
338. Now I'm condemned
to this life of jumpsuits.Copy !req
339. It is wonderful to see you again.Copy !req
340. Can you believe this place?Copy !req
341. I miss coffee.Copy !req
342. I never knew anyplace
could be so strict. I mean,Copy !req
343. I thought at least
in the higher ranks there'd be some...Copy !req
344. side action. I miss my wigs.Copy !req
345. Luckily, I remembered that this was
all the rage when I was coming up.Copy !req
346. You know, everything old
can be made new again.Copy !req
347. Like democracy.Copy !req
348. Which brings me to this.Copy !req
349. Cinna.Copy !req
350. He's dead, isn't he?Copy !req
351. Yes, dear.Copy !req
352. He made Plutarch promise
not to show you thisCopy !req
353. until you'd decided to be
The Mockingjay on your own.Copy !req
354. He knew the risks. As we all do.Copy !req
355. He believed in this revolution.Copy !req
356. He believed in you.Copy !req
357. They're beautiful.Copy !req
358. They have it.
They have the Mockingjay outfit.Copy !req
359. There's not much of a prep team
here in 13 but we will make youCopy !req
360. the best-dressed rebel in history.Copy !req
361. Okay.Copy !req
362. Bring up the lights.Copy !req
363. Cinna's final touch.Copy !req
364. Everyone's either gonna wanna kiss you,
kill you, or be you.Copy !req
365. Perfect.Copy !req
366. Absolutely perfect.Copy !req
367. Okay. Let's bring up the setting.Copy !req
368. Little wind.Copy !req
369. Okay, Katniss, we're gonna
start you down on one knee.Copy !req
370. And as you rise up, you're gonna hold
your flag in the air and deliver your line.Copy !req
371. And remember you've just stormed
the outskirts of the CapitolCopy !req
372. arm-in-arm with your
brothers and sisters.Copy !req
373. Okay.Copy !req
374. Whenever you're ready.Copy !req
375. People of Panem,
we fight, we dare, we...Copy !req
376. Does she know the line?Copy !req
377. - I know it. I got it. I'm sorry.
- Okay, All right.Copy !req
378. - Let's do it again.
- She's warming up.Copy !req
379. All right. With energy. Go.Copy !req
380. People of Panem, we fight!
We dare to end this hunger for justice!Copy !req
381. You've just been in battle!Copy !req
382. I'm sorry. Excuse my outburst.
You've just been in battle.Copy !req
383. Let's try it again.
Whenever you're ready.Copy !req
384. People of Panem, we fight!Copy !req
385. We dare to end this hunger for justice.Copy !req
386. And that, my friends,
is how a revolution dies.Copy !req
387. Hello, Katniss.Copy !req
388. This how you greet an old friend?Copy !req
389. Maybe I don't recognize you sober.Copy !req
390. I guess it looks as bad as it feels.Copy !req
391. People of Panem, we fight!Copy !req
392. We dare! We end this hunger for justice!Copy !req
393. Madam President,Copy !req
394. indulge me for a moment, if you would.Copy !req
395. Let's everybody think of one incident where
Katniss Everdeen genuinely moved you.Copy !req
396. Not where you were jealous of her hairstyle
or her dress went up in flamesCopy !req
397. or she made a halfway
decent shot with an arrow.Copy !req
398. And not where Peeta made you like her.Copy !req
399. No, I'd like you all to think of one moment
where she made you feel something real.Copy !req
400. When she volunteered
for her sister at the Reaping.Copy !req
401. Excellent example.Copy !req
402. Okay.Copy !req
403. I hope that wasn't important.Copy !req
404. Okay. "Volunteer for sister."Copy !req
405. Good. What else?Copy !req
406. When she sang that song for little Rue.Copy !req
407. Oh, yeah.
Who didn't get choked up at that?Copy !req
408. You know, I like you better, Effie,
without all that makeup.Copy !req
409. Well, I like you better sober.Copy !req
410. When she chose Rue as an ally, as well.Copy !req
411. - Yes.
- Now, what do all these have in common?Copy !req
412. No one told her what to do.Copy !req
413. Unscripted, yes. So maybe
we should just leave her alone.Copy !req
414. And wash her face.Copy !req
415. She's still a girl.
You made her look 35.Copy !req
416. The opportunities for spontaneity
are obviously lacking below ground.Copy !req
417. So what you're suggesting
is we toss her into combat?Copy !req
418. I can't sanction putting
an untrained civilianCopy !req
419. in battle just for effect.
This is not the Capitol.Copy !req
420. That is exactly what I'm suggesting.
Put her in the field.Copy !req
421. - No, we can't protect her.
- It has to come from her.Copy !req
422. That's what people respond to.
You want a symbol for the revolution?Copy !req
423. She cannot be coached into it.
Trust me, I know.Copy !req
424. Maybe there's someplace
that's less dangerous.Copy !req
425. District 8. They reported heavy bombing
last week. There are no military targets left.Copy !req
426. - We can't guarantee her safety.
- You'll never be able to guarantee my safety.Copy !req
427. - I wanna go.
- And if you're killed?Copy !req
428. Make sure you get it on camera.Copy !req
429. I've made you some surprises.Copy !req
430. Maybe you wanna try one out.Copy !req
431. If you're gonna be a part of Katniss'
propo team, you may as well look the part.Copy !req
432. And this one is for you.Copy !req
433. Plutarch wanted you to have a weapon
for the sake of the propos but...Copy !req
434. I couldn't just make you
a fashion accessory.Copy !req
435. It's beautiful.Copy !req
436. And look here.Copy !req
437. Regular. Incendiary. Explosive arrows.
All color-coded.Copy !req
438. And tell FinnickCopy !req
439. I've got a trident for him
when he's ready.Copy !req
440. Might just cheer him... Cheer him up.Copy !req
441. Let's not fire the red ones in here.Copy !req
442. You had all of this and you just left
the districts to fend for themselves?Copy !req
443. It's not that simple, Katniss.
We barely survived.Copy !req
444. We weren't in any kind of shape
to launch a counterattack.Copy !req
445. Yeah, we could've bombed the Capitol
but they would've retaliatedCopy !req
446. with at least twice the firepower.
Then what?Copy !req
447. There would've been nobody
left to claim victory.Copy !req
448. Sounds like exactly what Peeta said
and then you all called him a traitor.Copy !req
449. This way, soldier.Copy !req
450. You are camera-ready.Copy !req
451. Doesn't your comrade look handsome?Copy !req
452. Let's go.Copy !req
453. Come back safe.Copy !req
454. Quick introductions, Katniss.Copy !req
455. These people have come a long way
to support the cause. This is Cressida.Copy !req
456. In my opinion one of the best
up-and-coming directors in the Capitol.Copy !req
457. - Until I up and left. Hey.
- Hey.Copy !req
458. Let's see what you can do. Be careful.Copy !req
459. - This is my assistant, Messalla.
- It's an honor to meet you.Copy !req
460. - And your cameramen over there, Castor.
- Hello.Copy !req
461. And Pollux.Copy !req
462. Let's get locked in.Copy !req
463. You're all from the Capitol?
Plutarch got you out?Copy !req
464. Don't expect much chitchat from him.Copy !req
465. He's an Avox.
Capitol cut his tongue out years ago.Copy !req
466. And no, it wasn't any sort of rescue,
if that's what you mean.Copy !req
467. We all fled on our own.Copy !req
468. For this. For you.Copy !req
469. This has gotta be fast. In and out.Copy !req
470. Move out.Copy !req
471. You're alive then. We weren't sure.Copy !req
472. Katniss, Commander Paylor, District 8.Copy !req
473. Katniss has been recovering,
but she insisted on coming outCopy !req
474. - and seein' some of your wounded.
- Well, we've got plenty of those.Copy !req
475. We have a mass grave
a few blocks west, but,Copy !req
476. I can't spare the manpower
to move them yet.Copy !req
477. Hospital's past that curtain.Copy !req
478. Any hope you can give them,
it's worth it.Copy !req
479. The Capitol's done everything
they can to break us.Copy !req
480. Aren't you worried about having
all your wounded in one place?Copy !req
481. I think it's better
than leaving them to die.Copy !req
482. - That's not what I meant.
- Well, that's my only other option.Copy !req
483. If you can come up with another,
I'm all ears.Copy !req
484. It's right through here.Copy !req
485. Don't film me in there.
I can't help them.Copy !req
486. Just let them see your face.Copy !req
487. Excuse me.Copy !req
488. - Yeah.
- You all right?Copy !req
489. It's okay. Here, it's okay.Copy !req
490. I've got you. I've got you.
It's all right.Copy !req
491. Katniss Everdeen?Copy !req
492. What are you doing here?Copy !req
493. I came... I came to see you.Copy !req
494. What about the baby?Copy !req
495. - I lost it.
- Are you fighting, Katniss?Copy !req
496. You here to fight with us?Copy !req
497. I am.Copy !req
498. I will.Copy !req
499. Tighter.Copy !req
500. Tighter, tighter.Copy !req
501. Sir, some cameras
were damaged in the bombings,Copy !req
502. but we confirmed it's her.Copy !req
503. Zoom in.Copy !req
504. She was visiting a makeshift hospital.
We're not sure if she's still there.Copy !req
505. We can scramble hovercraft
from the border of 11.Copy !req
506. We may be able to target her.Copy !req
507. Kill the wounded.Copy !req
508. Sir...Copy !req
509. You wrote that speech yourself, Egeria.Copy !req
510. Any association with
the Mockingjay symbolCopy !req
511. is forbidden.Copy !req
512. Everyone inside that hospital
has committed treason.Copy !req
513. Show them what it costs
to be friends with Katniss Everdeen.Copy !req
514. Your mom's gonna be proud of you
when she sees the footage.Copy !req
515. - Will this play in the districts?
- It'll be tattooed on their eyes.Copy !req
516. - There's a problem.
- What kinda problem?Copy !req
517. Incoming bombers from the north.Copy !req
518. - We need to find cover now.
- There's a bunker in there.Copy !req
519. Straight ahead and down the stairs.Copy !req
520. Katniss!Copy !req
521. Katniss!Copy !req
522. Everdeen!Copy !req
523. Everdeen!Copy !req
524. Gale, back away from the wall!Copy !req
525. You okay?Copy !req
526. Move!Copy !req
527. - They're going after something to the south.
- That's towards the hospital.Copy !req
528. They're circling back around. Come on!Copy !req
529. That's the hospital.
They're targeting the hospital.Copy !req
530. Help them!Copy !req
531. Help them! Get them out!Copy !req
532. Katniss?Copy !req
533. Katniss, can you tell everyone
what you're seeing right now?Copy !req
534. Katniss, what do you wanna say?Copy !req
535. I want the rebels
to know that I'm alive.Copy !req
536. That I'm in District 8Copy !req
537. where the Capitol just bombed a hospitalCopy !req
538. filled with unarmed men,
women and children.Copy !req
539. And there will be no survivors.Copy !req
540. If you think for one second that
the Capitol will ever treat us fairlyCopy !req
541. you are lying to yourselves.Copy !req
542. Because we know who they are
and what they do.Copy !req
543. This is what they do!
And we must fight back.Copy !req
544. I have a message for President Snow.Copy !req
545. You can torture us and bomb us
and burn our districts to the ground.Copy !req
546. But do you see that?Copy !req
547. Fire is catching.Copy !req
548. And if we burn, you burn with us!Copy !req
549. We know who they are and what they do.Copy !req
550. This is what they do!Copy !req
551. And we must fight back.Copy !req
552. You can torture us and bomb usCopy !req
553. and burn our districts to the ground.Copy !req
554. Plutarch's faith in you
wasn't misplaced.Copy !req
555. - But do you see that?
- Thank you.Copy !req
556. - Fire is catching.
- Come up with me for the beginning.Copy !req
557. And if we burn, you burn with us!Copy !req
558. There is no progress without compromise.Copy !req
559. No victory without sacrifice.Copy !req
560. But I stand here with The MockingjayCopy !req
561. to announce that our moment has arrived.Copy !req
562. Beetee has increased
our use of the airwaves tenfold.Copy !req
563. We will broadcast this message
to all the districts tonight.Copy !req
564. The Mockingjay's words inspiring
everyone to join the rebellion.Copy !req
565. Together, we will becomeCopy !req
566. an alliance to be reckoned with.Copy !req
567. Hoorah! Hoorah! Hoorah!Copy !req
568. You don't like hearing
a fight song at a funeral?Copy !req
569. The more people on our side,
the closer we are to Peeta and Annie.Copy !req
570. Yeah.Copy !req
571. By order of President Snow daily production
quotas have been increased.Copy !req
572. All work shifts will be extended
by an extra two hours.Copy !req
573. Failure to meet these quotas
will not be tolerated.Copy !req
574. By order of President Snow daily
production quotas have been increased.Copy !req
575. If we burn, you burn with us!Copy !req
576. Yeah!Copy !req
577. Yeah!Copy !req
578. - I got good news.
- What?Copy !req
579. Coin agreed to let us hunt above ground.Copy !req
580. He's not even afraid of us.Copy !req
581. It's 'cause they've
never been hunted before.Copy !req
582. It's almost not fair.Copy !req
583. They want us back.Copy !req
584. - They asked us to head for Command.
- All right. I gotta drop these off.Copy !req
585. She was arguablyCopy !req
586. our favorite Tribute.Copy !req
587. And I think that's what
we all find most astonishing,Copy !req
588. is that this girl was
adored in the Capitol.Copy !req
589. And I think for you, Peeta,
it must be particularly painful.Copy !req
590. I wish I could give
this rose to you, Katniss.Copy !req
591. He's changed so much already.
What are they doing to him?Copy !req
592. A sweet gesture for a girl
who has inspired such violence.Copy !req
593. You must love her very much
to be able to forgive her.Copy !req
594. - He's shaking.
- I don't think that I could.Copy !req
595. Unless, of course, Peeta,
you think that perhaps she's beingCopy !req
596. forced into saying things that
she doesn't even understand.Copy !req
597. Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what I think.Copy !req
598. - Even his voice is different.
- I think they're using her to whip up the rebels.Copy !req
599. I doubt she even knows what's happening.
And what's really at stake.Copy !req
600. Now, Peeta, I doubt that the rebels
will ever let her see this.Copy !req
601. But if they do,
what would you say to her?Copy !req
602. To Katniss Everdeen, the once sweet
Katniss Everdeen. What would you say to her?Copy !req
603. I would... I would tell her
to think for herself.Copy !req
604. Yes.Copy !req
605. Don't be a fool, Katniss.
I know you never wanted the rebellion.Copy !req
606. The things that you did in the Games
were never intended to start all of this.Copy !req
607. The rebels have made you
into something that you're not.Copy !req
608. Something that could destroy all of us.Copy !req
609. So if you have any power or any sayCopy !req
610. in what they do or how they use you,Copy !req
611. please, please, urge them to stop
this war before it's too late.Copy !req
612. And ask yourself, can you trust
the people you're working with?Copy !req
613. - Do you know what they really want?
- We need to respond.Copy !req
614. Thank you, Peeta Mellark, for these
revelations about the real Mockingjay.Copy !req
615. - Did you see what he looks like?
- I saw a coward.Copy !req
616. - You don't have any idea what he's going through.
- I don't care.Copy !req
617. I would never say what he just said.Copy !req
618. Not if they tortured me.
Not with a gun to my head.Copy !req
619. That is the same Peeta that
defended you at the whipping post.Copy !req
620. No, it's not.
Now he's only defending himself.Copy !req
621. Coin's called a meeting.
We need to respond.Copy !req
622. When did "we" become you and Coin?Copy !req
623. Everyone has a choice.
How can he sit there in the CapitolCopy !req
624. and defend the people who destroyed
his home and murdered his family?Copy !req
625. He doesn't know.Copy !req
626. How could he? Nobody's seen
what the Capitol did to 12.Copy !req
627. I have to show them.Copy !req
628. So I wanna start with you
in front of the Justice Building, okay?Copy !req
629. Bang. First shot.Copy !req
630. Katniss, tell us what happened here.Copy !req
631. We were all standin' right hereCopy !req
632. watchin' the Games
when you fired that arrow.Copy !req
633. The screens just went dark.
Nobody had any idea what happened.Copy !req
634. Peacekeepers forced us
back into our homes.Copy !req
635. For maybe an hour,
the town was just dead quiet.Copy !req
636. Little past 9:00,
we heard their trucks pullin' out.Copy !req
637. All of them. Every single Peacekeeper.Copy !req
638. And I knew what that meant.Copy !req
639. Me and a couple of guys from the mines,
we started pulling people from their housesCopy !req
640. and tried to get 'em to the fence line but
a lotta people were scared of the forest.Copy !req
641. So they headed up onto the road.
Make a break for it that way.Copy !req
642. Stay with Gale.Copy !req
643. 915 of us made it to the fence.Copy !req
644. Then we watched as...Copy !req
645. bombers circled back towards the road.Copy !req
646. They firebombed them as they ran away.Copy !req
647. 915 outta 10,000.Copy !req
648. I should've grabbed people.
I should've dragged 'em with me.Copy !req
649. - Some of the kids I could've carried.
- You saved so many people, Gale.Copy !req
650. Without you, there would be no District 12.
Not even the memory of it.Copy !req
651. This is where you kissed me.Copy !req
652. I didn't think you remembered that.Copy !req
653. I'd have to be dead to forget that.Copy !req
654. Maybe not even then.Copy !req
655. I knew you'd do that.Copy !req
656. How? I didn't.Copy !req
657. 'Cause I'm in pain.Copy !req
658. That's the only way
that I can get your attention.Copy !req
659. Don't worry, Katniss. It'll pass.Copy !req
660. Hey.Copy !req
661. Yeah, that's a mockingjay.Copy !req
662. Well, now they'll never shut up.Copy !req
663. You want me to sing?Copy !req
664. Are you, are youCopy !req
665. Coming to the treeCopy !req
666. They strung up a manCopy !req
667. They say who murdered threeCopy !req
668. Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it beCopy !req
669. If we met at midnight
in the hanging treeCopy !req
670. Are you, are youCopy !req
671. Coming to the treeCopy !req
672. Where the dead man called out
for his love to fleeCopy !req
673. Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it beCopy !req
674. If we met at midnight
in the hanging treeCopy !req
675. Are you, are youCopy !req
676. Coming to the treeCopy !req
677. Where I told you to runCopy !req
678. So we'd both be freeCopy !req
679. Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it beCopy !req
680. If we met at midnight
in the hanging treeCopy !req
681. That line was originally
"necklace of rope."Copy !req
682. I had it changed to "necklace of hope."Copy !req
683. Wow. You are a true wordsmith.Copy !req
684. Little on the nose, but,
of course, so is war.Copy !req
685. - Every district's seeing this?
- Yes. But not the Capitol.Copy !req
686. I designed this signal
defense system for them.Copy !req
687. But I can't find my way through it.Copy !req
688. Guess I did my job too well.Copy !req
689. At the time, I was just thinking
of the science of it all.Copy !req
690. We'll get through it.Copy !req
691. Moves and countermoves.Copy !req
692. Katniss, you're wanted in Command.Copy !req
693. Tonight, we've received reportsCopy !req
694. of derailed trains,Copy !req
695. of granaries on fire,Copy !req
696. and of a savage attack on the
hydroelectric dam in District 5.Copy !req
697. What have they done to you?Copy !req
698. I'm begging for restraint and decency.Copy !req
699. We interrupt your regularly
scheduled horse manureCopy !req
700. to bring you...Copy !req
701. - That's it. That's our footage.
- Beetee's in.Copy !req
702. - Katniss?
- He sees it. He sees our propo.Copy !req
703. - Katniss, are you there?
- Peeta.Copy !req
704. Katniss?Copy !req
705. Peeta, please continue.Copy !req
706. You were telling us about
these savage attacks.Copy !req
707. Yeah.Copy !req
708. The attack on the damCopy !req
709. was a callousCopy !req
710. and inhuman act of destruction...Copy !req
711. Think about it.Copy !req
712. How will this end? What will be left?Copy !req
713. No one can survive this.Copy !req
714. No one is safe now.
Not here in the Capitol.Copy !req
715. Not in any of the districts.Copy !req
716. They're coming, Katniss.
They're gonna kill everyone.Copy !req
717. And in District 13
you'll be dead by morning.Copy !req
718. - He's warning us. That was a warning.
- Yes, it was.Copy !req
719. We have to get him out
before they kill him.Copy !req
720. - Is there anything in the air?
- Nothing on Doppler, ma'am.Copy !req
721. He was in the mansion.
He could have overheard something.Copy !req
722. Possibly.Copy !req
723. It's time for an air raid drill.Copy !req
724. This is a code red alert. Please,
remain calm and begin evacuation protocol.Copy !req
725. - Prim! Prim!
- Proceed to your nearest stairwellCopy !req
726. and descend to level 40.Copy !req
727. Blast doors will be
sealed in six minutes.Copy !req
728. This is a code red alert. Please,
remain calm and begin evacuation protocol.Copy !req
729. Proceed in an orderly fashion to your
nearest stairwell and descend to level 40.Copy !req
730. Madam President, three Capitol
squadrons just entered our airspace.Copy !req
731. - How much time do we have?
- They're a few seconds from range.Copy !req
732. - Prepare to scramble the fleet.
- Copy that.Copy !req
733. Open up short-range air defense.Copy !req
734. Arm long-range missiles
for counterattack.Copy !req
735. This is a code red alert. Please,
remain calm and begin evacuation protocol.Copy !req
736. Proceed in an orderly fashion to your
nearest stairwell and descend to level 40.Copy !req
737. Blast doors...Copy !req
738. This is a code red alert.
Please, remain calm...Copy !req
739. This is a code red alert.
Proceed in an orderly fashion...Copy !req
740. Come on. Come on, hon.Copy !req
741. Continue to the Supply Station
and claim one packCopy !req
742. for each member of your compartment.Copy !req
743. Please keep all personal items
within your assigned area.Copy !req
744. Be courteous to your fellow citizens.Copy !req
745. This is a code red alert.Copy !req
746. All citizens should be
inside the bunker.Copy !req
747. - Blast doors will close in two minutes.
- Mom!Copy !req
748. - Where's Prim?
- I thought she went to find you.Copy !req
749. - She must still be on the stairs.
- There's no one on the stairs.Copy !req
750. She went back for the cat.Copy !req
751. This is a code red alert.
All citizens should be inside the bunker.Copy !req
752. Hey, stop! Stop!Copy !req
753. Blast doors will close in one minute.Copy !req
754. They hit the far edge of the
northwest quadrant. Penetrated 40 feet.Copy !req
755. Missed the living quarters.
Only minor damage to corridors 2 and 3.Copy !req
756. - Is there any radiation?
- None detected.Copy !req
757. Doppler shows a fourth wave approaching.Copy !req
758. - Blast doors will close in 30 seconds.
- Prim!Copy !req
759. - Prim!
- Katniss!Copy !req
760. - This is a code red alert.
- Katniss!Copy !req
761. - Blast doors will close in 15 seconds.
- Keep moving, keep moving!Copy !req
762. Get down here!Copy !req
763. - Hurry!
- This is a code red alert.Copy !req
764. - Come on!
- Blast doors will close in 10 seconds.Copy !req
765. Nine...Copy !req
766. - Eight...
- Come on!Copy !req
767. Seven...Copy !req
768. Six...Copy !req
769. - Five...
- Hold the doors!Copy !req
770. Four...Copy !req
771. Three...Copy !req
772. - Two...
- Wait! Hold the doors!Copy !req
773. One.Copy !req
774. You went back for the cat?
What were you thinking?Copy !req
775. I wasn't gonna leave him behind.
I couldn't live with myself.Copy !req
776. - Blast doors are now sealed.
- I know, Prim.Copy !req
777. Let's go.Copy !req
778. Damage to the aquifer in the northwest
quadrant. We lost a transport corridor.Copy !req
779. There's nothing else in the northwest.Copy !req
780. Our surface-to-air launchers
just took a direct hit in sector 3.Copy !req
781. Because we revealed ourselves.
They saw us firing there.Copy !req
782. Stand down. Don't launch the fleet.Copy !req
783. Another 12 Capitol bombers approaching
sector 3 in attack formation.Copy !req
784. Hold fire on their approach.Copy !req
785. What'd they hit?Copy !req
786. Bedrock. But there's debris
in the ventilation shaft.Copy !req
787. - They're not targeting our fleet.
- Or our Special Weaponry.Copy !req
788. They don't know what we have
or where we have it.Copy !req
789. Can you confirm that everyone's
safely in the bunker?Copy !req
790. Already done.Copy !req
791. Conceal all remaining
anti-aircraft guns.Copy !req
792. Seal launching pads
and ventilation corridors.Copy !req
793. We are gonna wait this out.
This is what we're built for.Copy !req
794. They'll seal us in here like a tomb.Copy !req
795. The Capitol's working off
some outdated information.Copy !req
796. - I'd rather not update it for them.
- Madam President, I know it's not my place...Copy !req
797. It's not. You're a welcome guest,
but you're out of your depth down here.Copy !req
798. - Reduce oxygen to 14% to conserve it.
- Copy that.Copy !req
799. Take a deep breath, Mr. Heavensbee.
It's gonna be a long night.Copy !req
800. Prim, talk about something. Anything.Copy !req
801. They promoted me at the hospital.Copy !req
802. I forgot to tell you.
They're training me to be a doctor.Copy !req
803. They'd be stupid not to.Copy !req
804. Hey.Copy !req
805. - Can I sit?
- Yeah.Copy !req
806. Snow's using Annie to punish you.Copy !req
807. He's taunting us with them.Copy !req
808. I didn't understand until just now
watching that stupid cat.Copy !req
809. After your first Games,Copy !req
810. I thought the whole romance was an act.Copy !req
811. We all expected you
to continue that strategy.Copy !req
812. But it wasn't until
Peeta's heart stoppedCopy !req
813. and he nearly died that...Copy !req
814. I knew I'd misjudged you.Copy !req
815. You love him.Copy !req
816. I'm not saying in what way.
Maybe you don't even know yourself.Copy !req
817. But anyone paying attention can see it.Copy !req
818. How do you live with it?Copy !req
819. I drag myself outta nightmares
and there's no relief in waking up.Copy !req
820. But... it's better not to give in to it.Copy !req
821. Takes 10 times longer to put yourself
back together than it does to fall apart.Copy !req
822. Katniss? Katniss?Copy !req
823. Come with me.Copy !req
824. We took their best shot. Didn't we?Copy !req
825. Yeah.Copy !req
826. - Your mother and sister okay?
- Yeah, they're fine.Copy !req
827. I need you to do something for us.Copy !req
828. I need you to tell Panem that we
survived an attack by the CapitolCopy !req
829. with no casualties.
And we remain fully operational.Copy !req
830. Okay.Copy !req
831. You should know something.Copy !req
832. We had eight extra minutes of civilian
evacuation because of Peeta's warning.Copy !req
833. I won't forget that.Copy !req
834. Thank you.Copy !req
835. So Katniss, it's "13 is alive
and well and so am I."Copy !req
836. Katniss?Copy !req
837. Katniss.Copy !req
838. Never one to waste it
in rehearsal, I know.Copy !req
839. Why would they drop these?Copy !req
840. For me.Copy !req
841. Ready to go, Katniss?Copy !req
842. We're gonna do this,
just like District 8.Copy !req
843. Tell me about the roses.Copy !req
844. Tell Snow 13 is alive and well.Copy !req
845. He's gonna kill Peeta.Copy !req
846. Let's try again. Can you speak up?
We don't have a mic on you.Copy !req
847. "13 is alive and well and so am I."Copy !req
848. He's gonna kill Peeta.Copy !req
849. - I can't.
- Katniss?Copy !req
850. - You can do it, Katniss.
- I can't do this.Copy !req
851. "13 is alive and well and so am I."Copy !req
852. He's just gonna keep...
He's never gonna stop.Copy !req
853. - Cressida, we should cut the cameras.
- It's okay, Katniss.Copy !req
854. No. He warned me.
He warned me about this.Copy !req
855. He's doing this because
I'm The Mockingjay.Copy !req
856. He's punishing Peeta to punish me.Copy !req
857. No.Copy !req
858. - No, I can't do this.
- Katniss.Copy !req
859. - Don't make me do this!
- Let her go.Copy !req
860. I got... I gotta get out of here.Copy !req
861. So this is the end?Copy !req
862. I s'pose you're just gonna
hide down here forever?Copy !req
863. I can't be The Mockingjay.Copy !req
864. Not The Mockingjay. Just Katniss.Copy !req
865. You know, you're the only
real friend I have down here.Copy !req
866. I don't suppose they gave you
any kind of medication?Copy !req
867. - You're unbelievable.
- Okay, but I meant what I said.Copy !req
868. Look, the reason I'm here
is to let you knowCopy !req
869. they're rescuing Peeta.Copy !req
870. - What?
- The dam went down in District 5,Copy !req
871. took out most of the power to the Capitol.
Knocked out their signal defense.Copy !req
872. Beetee's inside their system now,
wreaking all kinds of havoc.Copy !req
873. A window is open to us.
How much longer? I don't know.Copy !req
874. I guess until the Capitol
can get the power back on.Copy !req
875. And President Coin?Copy !req
876. You know, I can never fully support
that woman in light of the...Copy !req
877. prohibition they have
going on around this place, but...Copy !req
878. Plutarch got word that Peeta and
the others are in the Tribute Center.Copy !req
879. And with the power out,
Coin sees this as an opportunity.Copy !req
880. She knows that Peeta is the Capitol's weapon.
The same way you're ours.Copy !req
881. And as opposed to having you two
pointing at each other,Copy !req
882. she's going to get him.Copy !req
883. - I have to go help.
- Hey, hey, whoa, kiddo. Wait.Copy !req
884. Come on. What, are you just gonna jump
out of the vent and go storm the Capitol?Copy !req
885. Besides, it's already underway.Copy !req
886. Six soldiers went in. Volunteer only.Copy !req
887. And guess who was
the first brave soul to sign up.Copy !req
888. Gale.Copy !req
889. - Okay, Finnick?
- Yeah. Yeah.Copy !req
890. Go in the center there.Copy !req
891. Those rocks.Copy !req
892. Castor, to the left.Copy !req
893. Pollux, you're with me.
So we'll go straight to camera.Copy !req
894. Okay? Finnick?Copy !req
895. Yeah.Copy !req
896. Okay. Take your time.Copy !req
897. Just remember to keep talking
and don't stop.Copy !req
898. This is Finnick Odair.Copy !req
899. Winner of the 65th Hunger Games.Copy !req
900. And I'm coming to you
from District 13, alive and well.Copy !req
901. We've survived an assault
from the Capitol.Copy !req
902. But I'm not here
to give you recent news.Copy !req
903. - Why is Finnick doing a propo?
- It's a lot more than that.Copy !req
904. - Beetee's commandeered the system.
- Now that they're down to generator powerCopy !req
905. there's a more limited range of
frequencies available to them.Copy !req
906. And I'm filling them
all up with Finnick.Copy !req
907. Not many will see it, but whoever does
will think it's another propo.Copy !req
908. What they don't know is this broadcast
is jamming their entire system with noise.Copy !req
909. Early defense warning,
internal communications, everything.Copy !req
910. As long as the broadcast goes through,Copy !req
911. our team should be able
to get in and out undetected.Copy !req
912. The truth.
Not the myths about a life of luxury.Copy !req
913. Not the lie about glory
for your homeland.Copy !req
914. You can survive the arena.Copy !req
915. The moment you leave, you're a slave.Copy !req
916. Mockingjay One, Mockingjay One, you are
one minute out from perimeter defense.Copy !req
917. - Going dark.
- Stay low in case they're online.Copy !req
918. President Snow used to sell me.Copy !req
919. Or my body, at least.
I wasn't the only one.Copy !req
920. If a Victor is considered desirable,
the President gives them as a rewardCopy !req
921. or allows people to buy them.
If you refuse, he kills someone you love.Copy !req
922. Mockingjay One, you are 20 seconds
from perimeter defense.Copy !req
923. Ten seconds.Copy !req
924. Nine... Eight...Copy !req
925. Seven... Six... Five...Copy !req
926. Four... Three... Two...Copy !req
927. One.Copy !req
928. No response from perimeter defense.
We're inside Capitol airspace.Copy !req
929. To make themselves feel better, my patrons
would make presents of money or jewelry.Copy !req
930. But I found a much more
valuable form of payment.Copy !req
931. Secrets.Copy !req
932. Gear up.Copy !req
933. Switching to Night View.Copy !req
934. There.Copy !req
935. Command, we have visual
on the Tribute Center.Copy !req
936. Initiating final approach.Copy !req
937. Masks on.Copy !req
938. See, I know all the depravity,
the deceit and the crueltyCopy !req
939. of the Capitol's pampered elite.Copy !req
940. But the biggest secrets are about
our good President, Coriolanus Snow.Copy !req
941. Open the door.Copy !req
942. Command, this is Team Leader.Copy !req
943. Prepare to deploy gas.
We will confirm once inside.Copy !req
944. Such a young man when he rose to power.
Such a clever one to keep it.Copy !req
945. How, you may ask, did he do it?Copy !req
946. One word.Copy !req
947. Poison.Copy !req
948. Get ready to drop.Copy !req
949. He stopped every mutiny
before it even started.Copy !req
950. Clear.Copy !req
951. Clear. Command, we're inside.
Heading toward target number one.Copy !req
952. Cell P45 lower level 2C.Copy !req
953. Gas.Copy !req
954. There are so many mysterious deaths
to adversaries.Copy !req
955. Even to allies who were threats.Copy !req
956. Snow would drink from the same cup,
to deflect suspicion.Copy !req
957. But antidotes don't always work,Copy !req
958. which is why he wears roses
that reek of perfume.Copy !req
959. Help cover the scent of blood from sores
in his mouth that will never heal.Copy !req
960. Gale.Copy !req
961. But he can't hide the scent of who
he really is. He kills without mercy.Copy !req
962. He rules with deception and fear.Copy !req
963. His weapon of choice
is the only thing suited to such a man.Copy !req
964. Poison. The perfect weapon for a snake.Copy !req
965. What is this place?Copy !req
966. - Beetee?
- I'm losing them.Copy !req
967. Powering back up.Copy !req
968. Ma'am, the Capitol air defense system
is rebooting. It's coming back online.Copy !req
969. Must be diverting power
from another source.Copy !req
970. And filtering transmissions.
Another 60 seconds and we'll be cut off.Copy !req
971. Madam President, should we
call back the hovercraft?Copy !req
972. Broadcast me.Copy !req
973. If Snow's watching this, maybe he'll
let the signal in, if he sees me.Copy !req
974. Put me on the air so he can see me.Copy !req
975. - Yes. Yes.
- Put her on.Copy !req
976. Can we do this? Can we still get in?Copy !req
977. Yes. For the moment. The line's open.
He will only see you.Copy !req
978. Okay, Katniss, go.Copy !req
979. President Snow?
President Snow. It's Katniss.Copy !req
980. - There's no guarantee he's even watching.
- President Snow?Copy !req
981. - I know, but he might be.
- President Snow, I need to speak with you.Copy !req
982. Are you there?Copy !req
983. President Snow, it's Katniss.
Can you hear me?Copy !req
984. I need to speak with you.Copy !req
985. President Snow, it's Katniss.
President Snow, are you there?Copy !req
986. Can you hear me?Copy !req
987. - President Snow...
- Miss Everdeen. What an honor.Copy !req
988. I don't imagine you're calling
to thank me for the roses.Copy !req
989. I never asked for this.Copy !req
990. I never asked to be in the Games.Copy !req
991. - Boggs? Come in. Boggs?
- I never asked to be The Mockingjay.Copy !req
992. Just wanted to save my sister.
And keep Peeta alive.Copy !req
993. Come in. Boggs?Copy !req
994. Please, just let him go.
And I will stop being The Mockingjay.Copy !req
995. I will disappear. You will never
have to see me ever again.Copy !req
996. Miss Everdeen.Copy !req
997. - Boggs, come in.
- You couldn't run from this...Copy !req
998. any more than you could have
run from the Games.Copy !req
999. - Command, I need a situation report.
- Boggs, we're running out of time. Hurry.Copy !req
1000. Let's move.Copy !req
1001. Please.Copy !req
1002. You've won.Copy !req
1003. You've already beaten me.Copy !req
1004. Release Peeta. And take me instead.Copy !req
1005. We're long past the opportunityCopy !req
1006. for noble sacrifice.Copy !req
1007. Then tell me what to do.
I've always kept my promises, haven't I?Copy !req
1008. You said you didn't want a war.
And that's just what's happened.Copy !req
1009. I told you what a fragile
thing peace was.Copy !req
1010. And still, like a child,Copy !req
1011. you took pleasure in breaking it.Copy !req
1012. I know what you are.Copy !req
1013. I know you can't see past
your narrowest concerns.Copy !req
1014. But please, Miss Everdeen.Copy !req
1015. I doubt you know
what honesty is anymore.Copy !req
1016. Command, we're at the first target.
Preparing to extract Peeta.Copy !req
1017. Will confirm when he's in hand.Copy !req
1018. Mockingjay One,
prepare hovercraft for evac.Copy !req
1019. You asked me to convince you
that I was in love with Peeta.Copy !req
1020. Haven't I at least done that?Copy !req
1021. Miss Everdeen,Copy !req
1022. it's the things we love mostCopy !req
1023. that destroy us.Copy !req
1024. I want you to rememberCopy !req
1025. that I said that.Copy !req
1026. Don't you think I know your friends
are in the Tribute Center?Copy !req
1027. Cut them off.Copy !req
1028. - Boggs, come in.
- What happened?Copy !req
1029. Boggs, come in. Do you read me?Copy !req
1030. - He knows that they're in there. It's a trap.
- Katniss, hold it.Copy !req
1031. We have to get a hold of them.
We have to tell them to get out. He knows.Copy !req
1032. There's no signal.
We can't contact them.Copy !req
1033. No. Haymitch, he knew the whole time.
He was taunting me.Copy !req
1034. - No, Haymitch. They're in there.
- No, we don't know that.Copy !req
1035. Did I lose them both tonight?
Did I lose them both tonight?Copy !req
1036. Did I lose them both tonight?Copy !req
1037. Did I lose them? I lost them both.Copy !req
1038. No! No!Copy !req
1039. There's no news.Copy !req
1040. I'm sorry.Copy !req
1041. It's the worst torture in the world.Copy !req
1042. Waiting, when you know
there's nothing you can do.Copy !req
1043. Especially for people like us.Copy !req
1044. But whateverCopy !req
1045. strength, courage,Copy !req
1046. madness,Copy !req
1047. keeps us going, you find it,
at times like these.Copy !req
1048. You have it, soldier.Copy !req
1049. It's what's kept you
alive all this time.Copy !req
1050. And it won't fail you now.Copy !req
1051. They're back.Copy !req
1052. I don't want that.Copy !req
1053. Johanna.Copy !req
1054. Finnick!Copy !req
1055. Finnick!Copy !req
1056. Annie? Annie! Annie!Copy !req
1057. You're safe. You're safe.Copy !req
1058. Gale!Copy !req
1059. Are you okay?Copy !req
1060. What? What is it?Copy !req
1061. I don't get it. Every gun was back online
and on us and we flew right past them.Copy !req
1062. They let us go.Copy !req
1063. He's in there.Copy !req
1064. The gas we used on the guards knocked
him out, too, but it's wearing off now.Copy !req
1065. You should be there when he wakes up.Copy !req
1066. Thank you.Copy !req
1067. Thank you.Copy !req
1068. Peeta.Copy !req
1069. Peeta!Copy !req
1070. Peeta! Get off! Get off of her!Copy !req
1071. Let go!Copy !req
1072. No, Katniss.
No, you're swollen. Don't touch.Copy !req
1073. No, no, no. Calm down.
Calm down. You're okay.Copy !req
1074. Tell her she's awake.Copy !req
1075. - Pee...
- Don't try to talk.Copy !req
1076. Peeta's okay. I promise.Copy !req
1077. I just had to get him off you.Copy !req
1078. It's called hijacking.Copy !req
1079. We don't know how long the Capitol's
been doing this to Peeta.Copy !req
1080. It's fear conditioning.
Enhanced with tracker jacker venom.Copy !req
1081. You were stung your first Games.
Remember?Copy !req
1082. The venom puts the subject
in a dissociative state.Copy !req
1083. And they torture him.Copy !req
1084. With shocks and beatings,
and strip down his identity.Copy !req
1085. And then all of that suffering
and fear is redirected.Copy !req
1086. Associated with other memories
or a person.Copy !req
1087. They can change his memories of Katniss?Copy !req
1088. To make her seem life-threatening.Copy !req
1089. They turned him into a weapon, Katniss.
To kill you.Copy !req
1090. But you can reverse it?Copy !req
1091. The fear is the most difficult
thing to overcome.Copy !req
1092. We're hardwired to remember fear best.Copy !req
1093. It's new terrain.Copy !req
1094. But we've put together a team.Copy !req
1095. I'm optimistic.Copy !req
1096. Good evening.Copy !req
1097. Yesterday, I authorized a covert
rescue mission inside the Capitol.Copy !req
1098. I am pleased to announceCopy !req
1099. that the Victors have been liberated!Copy !req
1100. Let this day mark an historic change.Copy !req
1101. With The Mockingjay
and the Victors beside us,Copy !req
1102. we have sent a clear message
to the Capitol.Copy !req
1103. That we will never again
endure injustice.Copy !req
1104. Today, a day on which
we reunited family,Copy !req
1105. friends, and loved ones.Copy !req
1106. Let all of Panem come together.Copy !req
1107. Not to battle for the amusement
of the Capitol.Copy !req
1108. But to join hands in this fight.Copy !req
1109. Let today be the day we promiseCopy !req
1110. never to give up,Copy !req
1111. never to give in
until we have made a new Panem,Copy !req
1112. where leaders are elected,
not imposed upon us.Copy !req
1113. And where the districts are free
to share the fruits of their laborsCopy !req
1114. and not fight one another for scraps!Copy !req
1115. This new Panem is on the horizon.
But we must take it for ourselves.Copy !req
1116. The road there leads through
the sharp mountainsCopy !req
1117. and deep ravines of District 2.Copy !req
1118. There in the heart of Panem's
steepest mountain rangeCopy !req
1119. lies the Capitol's principal
military facility.Copy !req
1120. We can conquer this strongholdCopy !req
1121. because we are one people,Copy !req
1122. one army, one voice.Copy !req
1123. Because today is our new beginning.Copy !req
1124. Today we have freed the Victors.Copy !req
1125. Tomorrow, Panem!Copy !req
