287. 65. That's the national speed limit.

288. Well, not everywhere. It said 50 back there.

289. 50?

302. So let's do it!

303. Good. Go, chris.

307. Hit it! Push it!

308. This is a little goddamn hamlet.

309. Chris, go!

310. Here we go.

311. Push it!

312. I don't know about this. I don't know.

313. Go, chris. Come on, chris, go.

314. Don't be scared. Push it!

315. We're winning!

316. You have a bmw. Act like it.

317. Faster!

319. Forget the law!

320. Oh, but it is smooth, isn't it?

321. Jeez. He's got a fast car, too.

322. Oh, sh...

323. chris, chris, move it.

342. Just get over!

343. Just get to the right!

344. Blah blah gabby gab gab.

345. Will you be quiet, fausto?

346. Just let me drive.

347. sir, this is a heavily traveled

348. industrial artery.

349. These trucks own this road.

350. Oh, man. I just want to get to atlantic city.

351. Sir...

352. these speeds are not advisable through here.

353. Tienes dolares?

354. Oh, no!

355. Everybody relax.

356. All they can do is cite me and hand me a bunch of tickets.

357. I'll pay them, and we'll be on our way

358. back to the turnpike.

359. Oh, i see.

360. It's all my fault now.

361. Folks, meet andy griffith.

362. Good afternoon.

363. Driver, step outside the car, please.

364. Was i speeding? I'm sorry.

365. I wasn't sure you were a real cop,

366. and please,

367. i mean that in a complimentary sense.

368. That's ok. There's no law

369. against having a sense of humor.

370. Now turn around,

371. put your hands on the roof of the car, please, sir.

372. There you go, sir. Spread 'em.

373. Oh, come on, now. "Spread 'em"?

374. Ow! Yeah, that's nice.

375. The lower back, please.

376. Check the prostate. That's nice.

377. Oh! All right, thank you.

378. I got an itch right up in there.

379. That's good. Thank you.

380. Not today, sir.

381. Turn around. May i see your license,

382. registration, and insurance, please?

383. What's the charge?

384. You were speeding,

385. but that's not why i began to follow you.

386. Back there in the village, you failed to make a full stop

387. at the intersection.

388. Oh, really?

389. Oh, i didn't even notice.

390. Well, that's the initial reason why i followed you

391. and why you're under arrest now.

392. The speeding and reckless evasion

393. will be overlooked

394. if you cooperate now

395. and quietly get in your car and follow me.

396. Clear?

397. Sir, wait a minute.

398. This may be... valkenvania,

399. but it is still america,

400. and we have an appointment

401. in atlantic city,

402. so we'd just like to get going.

403. Will you just write a ticket here,

404. or we could settle it

405. some other way, perhaps?

406. Step back, please.

407. I understand, sir,

408. but that's not the way things work around here.

409. You're gonna have to follow me a ways to the reeve,

410. then it's up to him how we proceed.

411. Reeve?

412. The local justice of the peace.

413. Now, i'm planning not to mention the speeding to him,

414. so i suggest you come quietly and immediately,

415. unless you want more trouble

416. than you're already gargling.

417. What's that beeping?

418. It means we're off the map on this cartridge.

419. What time does suntz start the hype?

420. 6:00. It's 3:30 now.

421. We can still make it if you just let me do the talking.

422. Look at this metal sculpture.

423. They must be into folk art.

424. Folk 'em.

425. what is that, music?

426. They're piping in music.

427. "Enjoy your stay."

428. What is this place?

429. My god.

430. So that's where they buried flipper.

431. Renalda and fausto: flipper's dead?

432. "Village j.p."

433. "shire reeve."

434. It's like robin hood— "be polite."

435. Hmm.

436. Oh...

437. and no cussing.

438. Shit.

439. Wow.

440. Look at all these toasters.

441. there is a negativity about this place.

442. "Valkenheiser salvage.

443. Trespassers will be shot."

444. Oh, come on.

445. there's a funky karma here, man.

446. is this a joke?

447. iy, iy, iy, i hope so,

448. because i don't think i like it here at all.

449. where the hell are we?

450. Listen, do we have to get out here?

451. "Valkenvania courts and schools, 1898."

452. valkenvania.

453. Hi.

454. File in.

455. Reassemble.

456. Lucy, i'm home!

457. Oh, yeah. It's old, it's old.

458. Right this way, folks.

459. Wait. I'm entitled to one phone call.

460. Surely. And you're more than welcome to make one

461. if we had a phone.

462. There's one in my car.

463. Your car's been impounded.

464. Impounded? Already?

465. Step up to the railing.

466. Please.

467. May i have your i.d.s, everyone, please?

468. I already have yours, mr. Thorne.

469. Thank you, thank you.

470. These trials usually last

471. only a couple of minutes.

472. Revolving district court

473. for the village and shire of valkenvania

474. is now in order!

475. The honorable reeve alvin valkenheiser presides.

476. ok, dennis, give me their licenses, i.d.,

477. toll tickets, report cards, notes from the teacher.

478. Here you go, judge.

479. Traffic violation.

480. Contravention of village bylaw 23—

481. failing in the execution of a full stop

482. at a place so marked.

483. I recommend fine, bond, and release.

484. What else you want to do for 'em, bake 'em a pie?

485. All right here...

486. who's christopher lawrence thorne?

487. That's me, your honor.

488. Thorne financial publishing,

489. water street, new york.

490. Ok.

491. Banker?

492. No, no, no. Banker, no.

494. Thorne's weekly?

495. Ok. Banker.

496. Oh, here.

497. Well, look at this. Passports.

498. I will have you know

499. that my brother fausto and i

505. siz—siz—sizwi. Sizwi?

506. Friends of the bride.

507. Yeah, that's right.

508. We all want to get married.

509. No, sir. No wedding. Moving violation—

510. failure to stop.

511. Let's just be quiet

512. and let him do his little thing,

513. and we'll be on our way.

514. Oh, i will let you be on your way,

515. when the cat's eyes will spin!

516. Now, listen!

517. Ok.

518. We'll listen.

519. Hey, hey, ho, ho!

528. and stamp-pad jockey!

529. We've always been set to deal with the offenders

533. things are running smoothly for you.

534. Put out that dog rocket!

535. Sir, sorry.

540. I mean, serfdom and fiefdom stuff.

541. Very good, young lady.

542. You and i ought to spend a little more time together.

543. Well, i-i'd like that.

544. Would you? Well, then,

545. more on how they packed me off

546. to farmers' mechanics' university

547. in gracefield, ohio, for my engineering degree...

548. and how i fought the germans in world war i later,

549. but for now—

550. later? Wait! Whoa! No later.

551. Wait a minute. What is this shit?

552. Sir, no cussing in court!

553. We don't want to hear the story of your life.

554. We just want to pay and get the hell out!

555. I'm sorry, judge.

556. Well, look at him. He's going on and on!

557. This court herewith binds you over

558. for a further appearance

559. to be held at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon.

560. We so deem for the public and common good

562. good night, irene!

563. Aah! Aah!

564. Iay!

565. What's this?

566. What's the point in that?

567. They're clean.

568. No drugs, no guns, nothing.

569. Just another batch of hot-pistol,

570. lily-white city chickens

571. to run through grandpa alvin's trick house.

572. When i'm gone, you'll be reeve.

573. You can run things any way you want.

574. Till then, just do your job.

575. So help me, i'll cut you out of the will.

576. You won't get so much as flossie the nag.

577. I always do my job, and you know it.

578. And i don't mind letting you know

579. my duties end right here at this bench.

580. Oh, fine. Go suck a bug.

581. Are you ok?

582. What are we going to do?

583. Oh, fausto.

584. What was that for?

585. How could you be so insensitive?

586. What are you talking about?

587. You better do something about this.

588. You're pulling on my coat. Now, cool it!

589. I had us out of here!

590. Then you had to go and open your big mouth.

591. You had us out of here?

592. We would've been here another 2 hours

593. listening to the history of the valkenburger farm,

594. or wherever the hell we are!

595. I knew i couldn't depend on you.

596. Listen, i don't need this!

597. I was just trying to drive us to atlantic city for you!

598. Oh, is that right?

599. Yeah!

600. You're no longer our financial advisor!

601. You're fired!

602. Shut up! Shut up!

603. Miami, baby, here we come.

604. Here, take this.

605. Have they got a jacuzzi in this place, huh?

606. we got company.

607. Want this?

608. Not now.

609. Oh, shit.

610. Shit! Pass it back. Get rid of this.

611. Give me that.

612. Here, take that.

613. Arty, don't give your real license again.

614. Don't worry. I'll take care of it.

615. Where's the pot?

616. Would you shut up?

617. Pass it to me.

618. No! It's under the seat. Shut up.

619. shut up.

620. My god.

621. Good evening.

622. Driver, step out of the car, please.

623. Good evening, officer.

624. chief.

625. Driver's license, registration,

626. insurance and fitness certificate, please.

627. Ok, arthur...

628. have you been drinking tonight, son?

629. I had a couple. So what? I'm fine.

630. I'm afraid you'll have to blow.

631. Blow you to get out of a ticket?

632. Forget it.

633. That's not funny.

634. I meant you'll have to use a breathalyzer.

635. I'll blow him.

636. Maybe later...

637. next century.

638. Let's go, son.

639. Oh, come on, officer.

640. you blew double drunk within village limits.

641. You're going with me.

642. Sure. Whatever you say, officer.

643. Say good night, copper.

644. Please, please, no.

645. Don't kill me.

646. Chiefy, pal,

647. i was only kidding.

648. ok.

649. My god!

650. Will you look at his face?

651. Is that nose rubber?

652. Hey, i don't want you. I want judge wapner.

653. I have to plead the fifth dimension.

654. Ok. Ok. Well, let's see here.

655. We got your crack and ice cocaine here.

656. You got your pills, your vials of coke,

657. snorters, pipes, and grinders.

658. You got your gun here.

659. You got your switchblade knives.

660. Since you're all having a whirl of a time

661. on some some kind of a hopped-up date,

662. i believe we can get this over relatively simply

663. and have you people on your way,

664. so step forward to the bench, please.

665. Hey, see that?

666. Thanks for understanding, judge.

667. You know what i'm saying?

668. You take care of this.

669. I'm gonna go out for a smoke.

670. Go for a smoke?

671. Dennis, they've got guns, drugs.

672. One of them tried to kill you.

673. I'm staying to watch.

674. I hereby find all parties culpable

675. in these matters as charged,

676. and so choose to inveigh the maximum levy

677. for these violations,

678. and do therefore deem that you be conveyed

679. to a wholly awful place of execution

680. wherein you shall be put to death.

681. Oh! Oh!

682. Aah! Aah!

683. que es eso?

684. What's going on?

685. Heh heh!

686. Yeah.

687. what's going on here, huh?

688. I'll give you all your coke, your grinders, your spoons,

689. and pot and guns and knives back to you

690. when you come out the other end.

691. hee hee heh ha ho ho!

692. Look, i'm sure these are reasonable people.

693. They'll have to entertain some kind of an offer.

694. they're coming.

695. Ok, folks.

696. Git up here for supper.

697. See? They're reasonable people—

698. supper.

699. Supper.

700. Little white wine, arugala salad,

701. maybe some pasta.

702. welcome to supper.

703. How about a nice hawaiian punch?

704. Thank you, judge.

705. You know, there's nothing better

706. at the end of a long day on the road

707. than nice warm of hawaiian punch.

708. Here's to good friends.

709. Does he treat all traffic violators

710. this graciously?

711. Only the ones he takes special interest in,

712. like bankers.

713. Ants on a log, ma'am?

714. Uh...

715. mm-hmm.

716. Yeah, i'd...

717. love one.

718. Cousin?

719. Oh, ants. Oh, yeah, sure.

720. oh.

721. Folks.

722. I'd like to introduce my granddaughter eldona,

723. she's single

724. and the best class "a" mechanic in 5 states.

725. She's adorable, judge.

726. She'd make an ideal wife, too.

727. Genuine wage-earner,

728. struck dumb at birth by a thunderclap.

729. My kind of woman.

730. I think the two of you would make a perfect couple.

731. Hmm.

732. You look pretty this evening, sister.

733. Doing something different with your hair?

734. eldona, would you please prepare the meal?

735. Thank you, dear.

736. Hmm.

737. Want to see the wine list?

738. Young man!

739. It is basic human politeness

740. to share your conversation with the whole table.

741. So what's on your brain?

742. Nothing. I was just thinking

743. you've got enough vintage steel

744. to make a few thousand toyotas.

745. Ever think of selling the whole place

746. to the japanese?

747. There you go! Does the pope wear a hat?

748. Was sergeant york's mother an angel?

749. And will a banker grope for money?

750. I'm not a banker. I'm a financial publisher.

751. All i know is in '17

752. after they shipped me off to fight,

753. some new york financier rolled in here one day

754. and hoglowdered and tubwangled my grandfather

755. into mining the whole place out

756. in exchange for shares in something called

757. the united coke company.

758. Do you know what those stock certificates

759. are worth today?

760. Just about the finest outhouse wallpaper

761. you've ever seen!

762. We were forced to become

763. what you drove through today,

764. a burnt-out coal field,

765. the biggest icebox graveyard

766. east of the ohio foundry belt.

767. And that's why i never let a banker go.

768. So your grandpa made a lousy deal.

769. Is that our problem?

770. Judge, that's a very tragic, tragic story.

771. I believe it is.

772. You should do a book.

773. How do you like your dog, folks?

774. They're serving dog?

775. Oh, no, no. Hot dogs—

776. dutch country herefords, prize-winners.

777. Hot dog.

778. Stadium franks, like they had

779. before they brought in night games.

780. Hmm?

781. Ok. Let's eat.

782. here's how i like 'em,

783. and i suggest you have 'em the same way.

784. Go ahead, there, folks.

785. Fix yourself up a couple of dogs.

786. wha...

787. what was that?

788. Just a mine fire...

789. burnin' since 1926.

790. Nothing that will cause us to interrupt our meal.

791. He hopes.

792. Come on now!

793. Mix up them condiments the way i do!

794. that's enough.

795. I'm going to flip out. Get me behind me, baby.

796. You people are sick, wicked,

797. funky, misanthropic, codependent animals!

798. I won't have my sister,

799. who was once the queen of the mardi gras,

800. sitting at a table

801. with a pickle-shooting train!

802. He's right. We got to go.

803. Iay!

804. Fine.

805. Come on, baby.

806. Priscilla, put that up. Use the dogs.

807. Run! Run!

808. take your hand off her!

809. Oh!

810. That's more like it.

811. Eldona, if you would please show them

812. to their room.

813. Ow!

814. Easy.

815. Where do you work out?

816. Ugh!

817. Those people have no dignity!

818. Fausto, you were a hero!

819. Oh, fausto, and they had such ugly, ugly food!

820. Oh, fausto, what is that smell?

821. It smells like sao paulo.

822. Toxics!

823. Toxics!

824. We've got to swim through that.

825. Oh, no! Fausto, you're not going to make me

826. swim through toxics. I cannot believe it!

827. We've got to get to the freeway!

828. We've got to get to the freeway.

829. I don't deserve this.

830. Close your mouth.

831. Ok.

832. Oh, let me go!

833. Aah!

834. Aah!

835. fausto!

836. Come on. Come on.

837. you haven't got the correct time, have you?

838. My watch is slow.

839. Ooh!

840. Hmm!

841. Let me see if i can get a fire started.

842. Fausto, we did it.

843. We did it!

844. We did it, man!

845. We did it!

846. Carlo rossi to the bahamas, man.

847. We're going to the bahamas!

848. Having a nice time.

849. Iay! Let's find a road.

850. We hitchhike to a truck.

851. Ok, we hitchhike. That is completely...

852. congratulations, folks.

853. You made it across our gully.

854. You should get a prize.

855. Please, let us go. Let our friends go.

856. We're rich. We'll give you anything.

857. Solvent.

858. Liquid.

859. Rich.

860. What am i gonna do with money?

861. All i do is work for the reeve since i was 8.

862. I got free room and board.

863. Only you have the power

864. to help us.

865. dude, it looks like you need

866. a nice couple of weeks holiday,

867. you know?

868. Nice.

869. Time off from your job.

870. You peeled the correct banana there.

871. Leisure time.

872. Kick back.

873. Nice.

874. Fish tacos.

875. quick, hide.

876. Come on. It's my cousin,

877. the original all-purpose ditch-witch.

878. Hide. Get down.

879. All this is about some hustler

880. who dumped on you, right?

881. Isn't it?

882. Well, what about suntz?

883. Really.

884. What were you planning on doing

885. when you got down to atlantic city

886. and confronted him?

887. Slap his face in front of a roomful of investors?

888. That's a hell of a way to break up with a guy.

889. So you picked the wrong guy.

890. Happens to the best of us.

891. I've been through this.

892. You know, when it comes to love,

893. there's no accounting for taste.

894. Hell, i used to be married

895. to imelda marcos.

896. You don't have to put yourself through this.

897. A guy like that's gonna bury himself anyway.

898. He doesn't deserve you.

899. You're too good for him.

900. I'm just such a jerk.

901. I mean, why do i always pick the wrong guy?

902. I mean, i'm...

903. i'm so trusting...

904. and so gullible.

905. I mean, i don't know why i'm such a pushover.

906. I mean, i'm such a sucker.

907. Mmm.

908. Mmm.

909. I just love a pretty face.

910. Oh.

911. Oh, it's so...

912. oh, it's so embarrassing.

913. Oh!

914. Ooh!

915. I better lie down.

916. Oh, you're nothing but trouble.

917. Ooh!

918. what the hell are you doing?

919. That wasn't me. That was the bed.

920. let's get out of here.

921. oh.

922. Up here.

923. Come on.

924. in this room!

925. This way.

926. There's got to be a way out.

927. Over here.

928. must be the nursery.

929. Bat room.

930. Oh, guano.

931. "Marjorie valkenheiser. She forgot to duck."

932. Jesus, it's moving!

933. Oh! Aah!

934. Oh, oh!

935. No! Oh, no!

936. No! Oh, no! No!

937. Aah!

938. Oh, Jesus.

939. We got to get out of here.

940. How far does this go?

941. All the way up—

942. ooh!

943. To here.

944. Are you all right?

945. It's a blind staircase.

946. Maybe i can—oh.

947. Wait.

948. Got it. Go on.

949. Jesus. Look out.

950. You all right?

951. Ahh.

952. I don't know

953. how much more of this crap i can take.

954. We're trapped.

955. Wow. Look at all these i.d.s.

956. what is this?

957. There must be thousands of them.

958. Passports and auto club cards.

959. Wow. A license.

960. "Virginia horse and trappings, 1896"?

961. "Statewide search

962. for outlaw biker gang underway."

963. "Busload of hare krishnas...

964. disappears."

965. "Ex-nazi rocket scientist vanishes."

966. '49.

967. All these i.d.s match the news clippings.

968. Look at this.

969. "Jimmy hoffa still missing"?

970. Here's his i.d.

971. are you kidding?

972. Oh, wow.

973. I think they've been doing this around here

974. since the 1890s.

975. I don't see any reason why they'll stop at us.

976. I mean, look at this.

977. They're all criminals and creeps.

978. Bankers.

979. Exactly.

980. Nah.

981. Aah!

982. What happened?

983. Aah!

984. Aah! Aah!

985. oh.

986. I wish we were on that train.

987. Me, too.

988. Good luck, slick.

989. Look at this. It's a slide.

990. Yeah, but this is no playground.

991. Could be a bed of spikes down there.

992. Let's go.

993. Go. You go. Take it slow.

994. Aah!

995. Ah, shit! Ohhh!

996. Diane!

997. Ohhh!

998. Uh-oh. Diane.

999. Aah!

1000. Where? Why? What? What? When?

1001. Oh, no!

1002. Chris.

1003. Chris.

1004. Come on.

1005. Chris!

1006. You get down here right now!

1007. Come on.

1008. yeah. Heck, i always was a good-looking fella.

1009. the beemer.

1010. uh-oh.

1011. Come on.

1012. Fantastic.

1013. Recorded message: this is cell-net one.

1014. The system to which you subscribe

1015. has no agreement with our service—

1016. gee, we have to finish this work

1017. for grandpa alvin, ok?

1018. We're always working for him.

1019. He treats us like we're his dogs,

1020. not his grandsons.

1021. We got no human rights.

1022. He's just mad that we both got so fat

1023. we couldn't finish high school.

1024. You're the fat one

1025. because you always eat too much cereal.

1026. You're the one who's fat.

1027. Not as fat as you.

1028. You're the fat one.

1029. Just get the hammer.

1030. I got it.

1031. Can't you hold that straight?

1032. Hey. You're the one who's forging.

1033. Can't you even see?

1034. I can see you're stupid.

1035. Oh, that's it.

1036. I am never working for you

1037. in this foundry again.

1038. Never!

1039. Give me that. Go get a ball-peen hammer.

1040. No!

1041. The one's that round on the end.

1042. I know the ball-peen hammer's round.

1043. He thinks i'm his child.

1044. Oh!

1045. Ooh! Trespasser!

1046. Get her!

1047. Get her!

1048. Ooh!

1049. Stop, trespasser! Stop!

1050. Aah!

1051. Aah!

1052. Hi.

1053. Eldona's got her.

1054. That's good.

1055. Yes. Eldona's got her.

1056. That's not good.

1057. No. That's no good.

1058. Aah!

1059. Stop! What are you doing?

1060. No, eldona. No.

1061. Oh! No! No! No!

1062. What are you doing?

1063. No, no.

1064. Don't throw her in the minefire vent, please.

1065. We just want to play with her.

1066. Oh, thank you.

1067. Thank you.

1068. I know. I know.

1069. We won't lose her.

1070. Hi.

1071. I'm bobo.

1072. That's l'il debbull.

1073. Hi. We're not allowed in the house.

1074. Ahh.

1075. Oh. Oh.

1076. Is she ok?

1077. judge valkenheiser.

1078. Judge!

1079. Waaaaa!

1080. I got some speeders.

1081. I'm bringing them in.

1082. I'll meet you in the courtroom.

1083. Keep all your fat parts in one place.

1084. I'll be right down.

1085. that's it, fellas. Right up the stairs.

1086. Here we are, gentlemen.

1087. Come along. Join the party.

1088. Thank you very much.

1089. Come on. Everybody.

1090. Man, would you look at this place?

1091. It's like extremely draculated.

1092. White man's heaven.

1093. One at a time. Here we are.

1094. We're home. Let's go. 1, 2.

1095. Lickety-split.

1096. She is one ugly, cross-burning,

1097. redneck, peckerwood police bitch, man.

1098. All right, move.

1099. A good man's work is never done.

1100. Oh, i sat around all day

1101. listening to all those stories

1102. when i want to relax and just...

1103. "village reeve hurt in foundry blast."

1104. So that's what happened

1105. to the poor, old, ugly pusbag.

1106. I thought i took care

1107. of my vermin problem last year.

1108. I'm glad i forgot my pistol.

1109. Bad call, corn flake.

1110. I left that leg in france.

1111. And now...

1112. i'm gonna stick you.

1113. I'm gonna dig so many new holes in you,

1114. you're gonna look like a salt shaker.

1115. Get your italian loafers out of my bedpan.

1116. Ooh!

1117. I'm going to make you cry now, boy.

1118. Chew on this, you stinking relic.

1119. My skunk!

1120. you are worse than a week of yellow shit storms.

1121. First i find you rooting around in my private things.

1122. Now you're making advances

1123. against my little granddaughter.

1124. I was just trying to get away from you.

1125. I ran into her, ok?

1126. Well, she's got your taint on her now.

1127. Taint.

1128. No choice but house policy.

1129. Fine. House policy.

1130. What's house policy?

1131. Whatever man touches her is the one she keeps.

1132. What? What are you talking—

1133. oh, no. Wait a minute. Oh, no. Wait a minute.

1134. I just went through a goddamn stop sign.

1135. I just want to get to atlantic city.

1136. Please, judge.

1137. She'll know what to do with him.

1138. what the hell is that?

1139. Ok. What's going on?

1140. Boy!

1141. 12:30, isn't it? Kind of late.

1142. I was dreaming i was back in france on furlough.

1143. Step forward, constable. What are the charges here?

1144. Speeding.

1145. 75 in a 50.

1146. In a hearse.

1147. Well, if it was an ambulance,

1148. you got a chance.

1149. If it's in a hearse, got to be worse.

1150. Ok. Well, this is a union card, huh?

1151. What are you, mine workers?

1152. Aw, man.

1153. No, man. We're musicians.

1154. We're a hip-hop band.

1155. You know what i'm saying?

1156. Hip-hop? Musicians?

1157. So youse all musicians, huh?

1158. Yeah. Deejays.

1159. Constable, you search the vehicle?

1160. Yes, sir. I did.

1161. It contains musical items.

1162. Well, i, uh...

1163. well... i'd better see them.

1164. Bring them all in, set them up.

1165. Let me see them.

1166. All right. Let's go.

1167. eldona, you know he's not supposed to see you

1168. on this special day.

1169. Special day?

1170. What is it, halloween?

1171. Right this way, mr. Snappy comeback.

1172. Mm-hmm.

1173. After this,

1174. you can see us

1175. do our tag-team wrestling show.

1176. Ok? 3.

1177. Ok.

1178. Let's go.

1179. I got that! I got that!

1180. I win. My deal.

1181. Bobo wins because bobo's hand was on top.

1182. Yeah. My hand's on top.

1183. I win. My deal.

1184. No, i won. My deal.

1185. My hand's on top. My deal. I win.

1186. That's right. Bobo wins. Bobo's hand was on top.

1187. My hand was on top. I win. I deal.

1188. Ok.

1189. Ok.

1190. If i win again,

1191. i get...

1192. another bowl of cereal.

1193. And if i win,

1194. i get diane.

1195. No, l'il debbull.

1196. My deal.

1197. Ok, bobo. Deal 'em.

1198. Drop the beat, j.

1199. yes.

1200. Yep.

1201. You sure are a gaggle of musicians, sure enough.

1202. And now...

1203. the disposition of your case.

1204. Uh, gather in a little closer, there.

1205. That's right. Right there. Yeah.

1206. In light of your contribution

1207. to the common good, i hereby wave all fines,

1208. suspend all sentences. You're free to go.

1209. Hey. Hold the harvest.

1210. There is another matter

1211. before the shire court this evening.

1212. And, uh...

1213. well, youse all might be able to help.

1214. Where's diane?

1215. Oh, she went home.

1216. I got something better for you.

1217. First you oughta know something.

1218. In many cases here,

1219. i do often choose

1220. to inveigh the maximum levy.

1221. Frequently, undesirables are put to death.

1222. I can understand that.

1223. Come on. But death for running a stop sign?

1224. And for being a banker.

1225. That's the double death.

1226. However,

1227. i'd be willing

1228. to cast aside all findings,

1229. be blind to your banker's blood,

1230. let you live out your days here

1231. as husband to my granddaughter,

1232. father to her child,

1233. and heir to my seat.

1234. Wha-what are you saying?

1235. It's death or eldona?

1236. Oh, come on, lad.

1237. Take her hand.

1238. Warm my tired old heart.

1239. I know women.

1240. She loves you.

1241. Ever since she saw you,

1242. she's been floating around

1243. like milkweed in a spring breeze.

1244. Uh-huh.

1245. Make her happy.

1246. Take care of her needs,

1247. and you'll inherit a fortune

1248. ali baba would crave.

1249. Listen, judge.

1250. Uh...

1251. you know, i've—i've spent some time alone with her,

1252. and she's a spectacular woman.

1253. She's quiet but, uh, just shy.

1254. Mute.

1255. Ah.

1256. But, judge, as far as her needs are concerned,

1257. i could never presume to be able to fill them.

1258. Oh, you can slip on a pud collar.

1259. Now, let me get you

1260. out of these cuffs and chains,

1261. and i'll get you all married up,

1262. and we'll welcome you to this family

1263. with an all-night reel.

1264. No cuffs, huh?

1265. No cuffs.

1266. Pud collar.

1267. Well, i must say...

1268. it sounds awfully tempting.

1269. Hit it.

1270. Yo. Drop it, j.

1271. That's it.

1272. Yo.

1273. What it be? What it be?

1274. in her own way,

1275. she's kind of special, isn't she?

1276. You'll never have car trouble.

1277. ah, yeah.

1278. Ok.

1279. Ahem.

1280. The district and commonwealth,

1281. hereby duly recognizing the will and wish

1282. of a man and woman

1283. to enter the holy

1284. and life-binding state of matrimony,

1285. herewith confirm that you,

1286. eldona marjorie valkenheiser,

1287. do take to husband one...

1288. christopher lawrence thorne.

1289. Hmm.

1290. Mmm.

1291. And you...

1292. christopher lawrence thorne...

1293. confirm that you do take to wife...

1294. one eldona marjorie valkenheiser?

1295. pardon?

1296. What?

1297. speak up! I can—

1298. i do—i do.

1299. Mmm.

1300. This office so recognizes and certifies this union

1301. and declares that you are now wedded man and wife.

1302. you may kiss the bride.

1303. Well, judge, plenty of time for that

1304. on the honeymoon.

1305. You may kiss the bride.

1306. No, not in front of all these people,

1307. your honor.

1308. Now!

1309. Let's get out of here

1310. before the old man changes his mind.

1311. Wait! Wait!

1312. Help me!

1313. We're out of here.

1314. Help me! These are dangerous people.

1315. No!

1316. It'll be all right.

1317. I was nervous at my wedding, too.

1318. No! Please!

1319. Never mind him.

1320. He's just got the wedding night jitters.

1321. Just go out the way you came.

1322. I'll open the gate and flip the bridge for you.

1323. You be cool, man.

1324. Yeah, well, bye.

1325. You weak-livered puffball!

1326. Damn city-working, yuppity well wallet!

1327. Look how you hurt my granddaughter.

1328. Aw, you ain't family material anyway.

1329. No, judge!

1330. Aw, come on, judge!

1331. No, i wasn't...

1332. no, judge!

1333. Why? I...

1334. judge, wha—what...

1335. wait! Whoa, nelly!

1336. Aw, come on, judge!

1337. Oh, no, ah!

1338. So long, charlie!

1339. What the hell is this now?

1340. Oh, no, oh, no!

1341. Oh, please, god!

1342. Guaranteed you're going to enjoy this ride!

1343. Oh, god!

1344. i'm of the school that believes

1345. the last 30 seconds of a person's life

1346. ought to have a little zip in them.

1347. Judge, listen, i'm sorry, i'm sorry.

1348. Aah!

1349. oh, please, oh, please, god, no!

1350. Judge, i'm sorry, please!

1351. I—i—i love eldona!

1352. I love your granddaughter!

1353. She's beautiful! Aah!

1354. Oh, no! My—hey!

1355. Please, god, help!

1356. Please, god, stop!

1357. Please, god, oh, please!

1358. God...

1359. oh, please, dear lord!

1360. Please...

1361. please, god, I...

1362. thank you, lord.

1363. Oh.

1364. Damn thing blew a belt.

1365. Tell eldona to go and fix it.

1366. Easy on her, grandpa. She's mighty broke up.

1367. I'll get him.

1368. Don't let him get away!

1369. Bring that there load to the gradertine.

1370. Diane?

1371. Diane?

1372. come on!

1373. Eldona!

1374. Mmm.

1375. Mmm.

1376. Ok.

1377. Aah!

1378. You go on, get out of here!

1379. Get out of here, you big slushbag!

1380. Go on back to your hole.

1381. Excuse my grandkids.

1382. They're all spoiled pulp rotten!

1383. That's right.

1384. Too much, too easy, too soon.

1385. Kids today, i know.

1386. Thanks.

1387. Want a mint candy?

1388. Oh, uh...

1389. no, no.

1390. Missy...

1391. i sure do hate to cut and shuffle

1392. a fine little muffet like you.

1393. Me, too.

1394. But i will!

1395. If joe polo don't show.

1396. Now, he hurt my family.

1397. Ok.

1398. Child, you'll walk free.

1399. Scot-free, right out of here.

1400. You just get on the two-way now

1401. and tell mr. High-class to come on in.

1402. Ok, i'll talk to him right now.

1403. All right.

1404. Aah!

1405. You ok, judge?

1406. See?

1407. See that?

1408. Now somebody's got to pay

1409. for the way they sapped this ground.

1410. You want your pills?

1411. I'm all right.

1412. Hey, hotworm!

1413. Listen!

1414. We got your pretty little girlfriend down here

1415. ready to go on the gradertine for a quartering,

1416. but because she's a bright-eyed,

1417. smart-looking type,

1418. i'm willing to make a trade.

1419. You lie down in her place,

1420. she goes free.

1421. We'll all be happy, including you.

1422. Here, here, you tell—

1423. where the hell's

1424. that dog-food-eating grandson of mine anyway?

1425. Dennis!

1426. Here, you talk.

1427. What's going on with him, anyway?

1428. What, is somebody not giving him his napalm?

1429. Uh, chris...

1430. hi. Um... it's diane.

1431. Um, listen...

1432. run! Run for your life!

1433. Save yourself!

1434. Tell the world about this place!

1435. Just—

1436. oh, boy.

1437. You really put the pin in the party hog now, girl.

1438. You got 5 minutes to come on in,

1439. or she gets cut and shuffled.

1440. Mind, now, no gallantry and no suicide stunts.

1441. You just come on in.

1442. Come on, now.

1443. Be a real man.

1444. Surprise yourself.

1445. Save the woman.

1446. Give yourself up for the girl.

1447. She'll cry over you for weeks.

1448. What's the matter, boy?

1449. Heh heh heh! Ain't she worth it?

1450. All right, you old liver spot.

1451. Sorry about this, diane.

1452. But we have to tie you down

1453. like grandpa alvin says.

1454. I wish it was him we were tying down

1455. instead of you.

1456. We don't like him, but we love you.

1457. This is a classic case of a dysfunctional family.

1458. You should consider some help, some therapy.

1459. He won't go!

1460. Ok, cowboy.

1461. Last chance saloon.

1462. I'm going to count down from 10.

1463. If i don't hear your voice

1464. by the time i get to one,

1465. i'm going to cut her!

1466. Aah! Oh, don't!

1467. Eldona, get them blades up.

1468. Mmm.

1469. Eldona, hey, listen...

1470. why don't we go to new york?

1471. I'll take you to elizabeth arden.

1472. 10!

1473. Get me out of here!

1474. 9.

1475. Come on now, banker!

1476. 8.

1477. What's wrong with this little girl?

1478. She a bad kisser or something?

1479. 7.

1480. Chris, i really didn't mean to save yourself.

1481. Get your ass down here and save me!

1482. 6.

1483. Chris, get down here!

1484. You ain't giving me much choice, boy.

1485. 5.

1486. Please, chris!

1487. All right, boy.

1488. Last chance saloon!

1489. 4.

1490. Don't!

1491. 3.

1492. 2.

1493. Aah!

1494. 1.

1495. Diane!

1496. Help me!

1497. Oh, god, hurry, get my hands.

1498. Hold on!

1499. Oh, my god!

1500. Get my hands!

1501. What took you so long?

1502. Ok, oh, get me out.

1503. I knew you'd save me.

1504. I think i dirtied my diaper.

1505. Get me the hell out of here, chris!

1506. He's fly-dicking with me!

1507. Eldona, drop those blades!

1508. Get him, get him!

1509. Aah!

1510. Oh, shit!

1511. Hey!

1512. Who are the infant bodies?

1513. Bobo and l'il debbull.

1514. They're not allowed in the house.

1515. Get that spotlight, ok?

1516. Ok.

1517. What do you play in atlantic city?

1518. Blackjack? Craps?

1519. Got to find them!

1520. I don't think they saw us.

1521. Come on.

1522. Excuse me, coming through.

1523. Sorry.

1524. Excuse me.

1525. aw, we'll never get across this.

1526. Let's head towards the train.

1527. Come on, through the woods.

1528. Smells like sao paulo.

1529. Who's that man that was with her?

1530. I don't know.

1531. I don't know, neither,

1532. but she got away.

1533. You're the one that was supposed

1534. to be watching her.

1535. Yeah, that's the most beautiful girl

1536. i've ever seen.

1537. Bobo, shut up and drive!

1538. There they are!

1539. On the hill!

1540. Get them before they get to the top.

1541. Stop them!

1542. Train.

1543. Hey! Hey!

1544. Hey!

1545. Stop!

1546. Hey, stop! Hey!

1547. Now!

1548. Come on!

1549. I'm with you.

1550. Right!

1551. Come on, reach!

1552. You can do it!

1553. I can't make it.

1554. Trust me.

1555. Come on, reach out!

1556. Come on, that's it.

1557. Damn it!

1558. we got to get some help.

1559. As soon as the train stops,

1560. we'll get off and call the police.

1561. You saved my life.

1562. Thanks.

1563. It was worth it.

1564. Bye, diane!

1565. Diane... bye-bye!

1566. Bye, diane.

1567. We went around in that spinning bed,

1568. the door flew up, and we came—

1569. got up into that, uh, a-attic—

1570. in the attic—

1571. with the newspapers and the, uh...

1572. all those licenses, and then—

1573. that's pretty much where we found all the licenses

1574. and the newspaper clippings which matched—

1575. we were smoking a cigar, relaxing—

1576. there was no way to know—

1577. what was that?

1578. An escape hatch or whatever.

1579. Anyway, this door opened,

1580. and we went flying.

1581. Bobo and l'il debbull saved me.

1582. And we climbed the cliff

1583. till we got on the train

1584. right after the fuel dump explosion.

1585. We think maybe the brazillionaires

1586. have been killed.

1587. That's—dead.

1588. You folks, of course, will have to come with us

1589. for identification purposes.

1590. Wait a minute.

1591. This man removed his nose and upper teeth

1592. 3 inches in front of my face

1593. and started crooning like bing crosby.

1594. I'd like to help out, but i'm pretty sure

1595. i can pick him out in a lineup,

1596. you know what i mean?

1597. We could do it.

1598. We?

1599. This is the state attorney general.

1600. We have a warrant to search these premises.

1601. Why not just blast your way in?

1602. First we have to serve the warrant.

1603. I bet we could get them to come out.

1604. Us?

1605. Miss lightson doesn't have a bad idea there.

1606. Well...

1607. i suppose it's worth a try,

1608. if—if you two are up to it.

1609. It'd be our pleasure.

1610. Wait a minute. Wait.

1611. Can't wait to see his face

1612. when he gets a load of this.

1613. Ok.

1614. yes?

1615. Well, what's going on here?

1616. Who are you?

1617. Why are you bothering an old man?

1618. You're through, judge.

1619. You kids better look out behind you.

1620. There's a bee's nest.

1621. Hi, judge alvin!

1622. Evening, troopers!

1623. Can't go too far in this part of the world

1624. without running across my friends.

1625. Alvin is something, isn't he?

1626. Of course, we can't admit

1627. that we appreciate the way he gets things done.

1628. And since you know what you know,

1629. i'm afraid we're going to have to come

1630. to some kind of a-ar-arran...

1631. it's the coal fire!

1632. The seams are giving way!

1633. Run for your lives!

1634. Come on, grab me.

1635. I'm not going to lose you now.

1636. Got you.

1637. Hey, what's all that shaking?

1638. I don't know.

1639. I didn't do anything.

1640. Aah!

1641. My beemer! Get in!

1642. No, it won't start.

1643. It's got a fuel cut-off switch.

1644. It's part of the alarm system.

1645. No seat belts.

1646. No roof.

1647. Oh, my!

1648. Fausto, that was the most adventurous weekend

1649. of my entire life.

1650. When i think about what happened in valkenvania,

1651. i would do it again.

1652. Not me.

1653. I was like james bond.

1654. Don't worry, dennis.

1655. Now that you are head of our personal security...

1656. and my lover...

1657. dude, your life's going to be fantastic.

1658. And don't you worry.

1659. No one's going to touch you

1660. or my little flora de la luna.

1661. Ooh. Dennis, listen to me...

1662. woof! Woof!

1663. No! Unh!

1664. Hey, chris.

1665. Chris, hey, hey, hey!

1666. It's ok. Take it easy.

1667. I think you're just having

1668. a little napmare.

1669. Ohhh.

1670. It's over?

1671. Oh, yeah, it's over.

1672. You're ok, we're safe.

1673. Oh, god.

1674. Take it easy.

1675. Oh, jeez, what a weekend.

1676. Yeah, no kidding.

1677. It's ok.

1678. I'm going to go take a shower.

1679. Ok.

1680. Just rest.

1681. I'll rest.

1682. Ok.

1683. I'm going to watch a little tv.

1684. Numerous fire companies

1685. from new york, new jersey, ohio,

1686. and all neighboring states

1687. are barely able to handle

1688. the subterranean mine fire

1689. near the town of valkenvania.

1690. Diane, you should see this.

1691. Our susan campost is on the scene.

1692. This cloud may have a silver lining.

1693. Geologists say the brief but intense heat

1694. from fissures 10 miles below

1695. have cooked the upper coal tailings

1696. into a fine, medium-grade crude—

1697. over 50 million barrels.

1698. Wait just—just one second, roger.

1699. I see one of the village residents

1700. rummaging through the remains.

1701. Excuse me, sir, how do you feel

1702. now that you have lost everything?

1703. At least we all got out alive.

1704. 'Course, there's nothing left for us here now,

1705. so we're planning to move in

1706. with my grandson-in-law.

1707. He lives in new york city.

1708. Oh, come on, no! Wha—

1709. see you soon, banker!

1710. No, what?

1711. Aah!

1712. No, you won't.

1713. captioning made possible by warner bros.

1714. Captioning performed by the national captioning institute, inc.
