12. 103 MERCIES DRAGON DAMNATION

13. Hey, I heard Shirano's in town right now.

14. Shirano? You mean the Shirano?

15. You think you can eat here for free?

16. You food thief!

17. This town is heartless.

18. I'm not going to die here like a dog.

19. It's Shirano-san.

20. The Master Swordsman said to be on par with the King?

21. It's been too long, Shirano-san!

22. I never would have thought I would meet you here.

23. I thought I'd never get to see you again.

24. It's been seven years, after all.

25. I didn't recognize you.

26. I'm glad to see you're doing well.

27. I'm so stuffed.

28. My first meal in five days makes it extra delicious!

29. Thank you! That was great.

30. I will repay your kindness, even if it costs me my life.

31. Don't worry about it.

32. No! It would be unworthy of me not to return the favor.

33. I would be less of a swordsman, nay, less of a human!

34. Gratitude comes first.

35. A swordsman should be willing to risk life for their benefactor, and—

36. Shirano-san, you're leaving?

37. She ignored me?

38. I'm in a hurry to get to my next destination.

39. I'm sure we'll meet again. I'll be going now.

40. Take care.

41. Hold it right there, mustache guy!

42. Hey, that's—

43. Just now, your scabbard bumped mine.

44. Oh, the sword etiquette, saya-ate. My apologies.

45. It wasn't on purpose.

46. Please don't be upset.

47. A sword means life to a swordsman!

48. You should know an apology won't suffice.

49. I hope you're prepared to face the consequences.

50. Striking one's scabbard equals challenging them to a duel!

51. Draw your sword! Let's fight!

52. Oh? Nice swordsmanship.

53. Looks like you've been defeated.

54. What? Don't make me laugh.

55. Swordsmen duel to the death.

56. It's not over until one of us dies!

57. You piece of—

58. Stop it!

59. I can't say no to my savior.

60. For goodness' sake, don't be rude to Shirano-san.

61. Hey, wasn't that statue…

62. That thing is supposed to be pure bronze.

63. I had no idea you could cut through it with a sword.

64. Shirano? Never heard of him.

65. You heard about the Great Surprise Attack seven years ago, right?

66. I may have heard of it… I think.

67. A small town surrounded by mountains

68. suffered a sudden attack by a dragon

69. and perished overnight.

70. The attack was unexpected.

71. The location and timing were terrible.

72. The people from the surrounding towns were unable to help.

73. This incident shook the world with fear, reminding it of the terror of dragons.

74. Everyone thought that all the townspeople had perished.

75. But from the ashes of the destroyed town,

76. a swordsman emerged, carrying a child in his arms.

77. All I managed to do

78. was to save this one child.

79. That was Shirano, already a renowned Master Swordsman.

80. He stepped alone into the raging fire that nobody else would approach

81. and fought the dragon, trying to save the townspeople.

82. Really?

83. But blazing mountains ringed the town.

84. It was a miracle anyone survived.

85. And the sole survivor from that town back then

86. was her.

87. What?

88. That girl?

89. Shirano-san is a shining example of a swordsman.

90. His swordsmanship is second only to the King's.

91. The King, you say?

92. The King? He's known to be the world's best swordsman.

93. I'm sure he has the heart of a great warrior.

94. Just between you and me,

95. I'd love to cross swords with him someday.

96. You don't even know what he looks like, do you?

97. I hear he rarely shows himself in public.

98. And what did you mean by "heart of a warrior"?

99. My belly is full, and the bounce is back in my step.

100. It's like being on the verge of death before was just a bad dream.

101. That girl is really admirable.

102. You'd never guess her to be the sole survivor from her village.

103. I'm sure that Shirano guy is her driving force.

104. Wait, you jerk!

105. What's with you?

106. Let go of me! What the hell did I do to you?

107. You hit my—

108. Why is this happening to me?

109. Hey, hold on. I didn't do…

110. Damn it! Why do I have to get stabbed?

111. Damn it! It could only mean that you… Now I see. So, you know?

112. - So that's what you were after! - What?

113. You filthy bastard! How dare you stab me out of nowhere?

114. I'll never give it up to you, though!

115. Did you think you'd get ahold of it by killing me?

116. Don't be naive!

117. I'm not dying alone! I'm taking you with me! In fact…

118. I'm taking this whole town with me!

119. Cut the crap! What did I—

120. I'll never surrender the Dragon's Horn!

121. Did he say "the Dragon's Horn" just now?

122. He did say that, didn't he?

123. The one that was stolen years ago?

124. The horn to control dragons?

125. That horn?

126. Whoa, hold on!

127. He blew it! He blew the Dragon's Horn!

128. That horn must be fake.

129. This is the real deal.

130. You can think what you want, but this thing…

131. Wait, what?

132. - He summoned a dragon! - Run for your lives!

133. A dragon is coming!

134. - It's over. - This town is doomed.

135. Run for the hills! Quick!

136. Doomed how? What just happened? Am I being pranked?

137. Now you've done it!

138. What were you thinking, asshole?

139. Who the hell are you, bastard?

140. Why'd you stab the keeper of the horn?

141. Wait! I swear I didn't…

142. Hey! Help me out here! These guys aren't making any sense.

143. What the hell is—

144. It was you?

145. Like I've been saying, I—

146. Flair-chan…

147. That stung! What's your problem?

148. Had I known you were like this, I would never have helped you.

149. I should've let you starve, you murderer!

150. "Murderer"? How dare you call me that?

151. You may be my savior, but that was rude! I demand you commit seppuku!

152. Shut up!

153. No one who has seen a dragon, not even a criminal, would do such a foolish thing.

154. You have no idea how terrifying dragons are!

155. I don't know what's going on here,

156. but you're not making any sense.

157. I refuse to take responsibility.

158. "Responsibility"? That's bullshit! How the hell would you do that?

159. Unless that horn is fake, the dragon will definitely come.

160. I said I'm not taking any responsibility for this, you hear?

161. Unfortunately,

162. this horn is the real deal.

163. There's no doubt it's the Dragon's Horn that was stolen that day.

164. Mister Mustache…

165. The soldiers who were killed guarding this horn ten years ago,

166. they were all my subordinates.

167. Every time I ask myself why I wasn't there,

168. I'm overwhelmed with guilt.

169. Shirano-san…

170. Even if you blame him, the dragon is still certain to come.

171. Will you let me fight it?

172. The dragon?

173. Are you sure, Shirano-san?

174. Shirano-san will vanquish the dragon and save us!

175. Hang on, everyone! That's just crazy!

176. I've never heard of anyone defeating a dragon!

177. To challenge a dragon is not a matter of winning or losing.

178. It has no match!

179. You should know that better than anyone else.

180. I've known for ten years that this would happen.

181. Convinced that I must prevent this,

182. I continued to travel in search of the horn, but…

183. I failed.

184. Now, all I possess are futile military achievements

185. and the hollow title of Master Swordsman.

186. But…

187. I want to at least try to put this to rest

188. as a humble swordsman.

189. How impressive, how very impressive.

190. But unlike the Great Surprise Attack seven years ago,

191. the townspeople here will be fine once they leave town.

192. Do you intend to sacrifice your life for buildings?

193. Quit acting self-righteous when it's all your fault, jerk!

194. Just commit seppuku!

195. You guys just don't shut up!

196. Don't. Taking responsibility by seppuku would be ridiculous…

197. As if I would do that!

198. The dragon will be here soon.

199. All right, then.

200. Every one of you vacate town.

201. I'll give it my best,

202. but I can't guarantee I can defend this town.

203. Shirano-san…

204. If I should lose…

205. If that happens,

206. please forgive me.

207. MONSTERS 103 MERCIES DRAGON DAMNATION

208. Hey.

209. Everyone has already left.

210. Shut up.

211. I hear you're the sole survivor of the Great Surprise Attack.

212. Was it really that scary? The dragon?

213. I mean, Mister Mustache is a famous swordsman, right?

214. Hey, where are you going?

215. A man challenging a dragon… it's just too reckless.

216. I want to at least try to put this to rest

217. as a humble swordsman.

218. He doesn't stand a chance.

219. You want to stop Mister Mustache, right?

220. I think you're wasting your time.

221. Whoa, there.

222. Shirano-san intends to sacrifice his life for our sake.

223. He's taken it upon himself to carry all the burden

224. to protect sleazebags like you.

225. Come on now.

226. Don't turn back.

227. Leave this town.

228. No! Don't look!

229. Shirano-san?

230. And is that the man with the horn?

231. I'll give it my best,

232. but I can't guarantee I can defend this town.

233. If I should lose…

234. If that happens, please forgive me.

235. It can't be…

236. Don't just stand there. If they spot you, they'll kill you.

237. The worst kind of fire looters, huh?

238. I feel so bad for her, I can't even find words of comfort.

239. Give it up…

240. That samurai… what a joke!

241. When I hit his scabbard like you told me, he shouted, "How dare you!"

242. Thanks to him, we can loot as much as we want, like seven years ago.

243. Then bam! The dragon'll destroy the town.

244. We can live it up for ten... No, 25 years with the loot this time.

245. Reminds me, that brat from seven years ago was in this town.

246. She was so happy to see me.

247. Seriously now?

248. Not many people get to their town destroyed by a dragon twice.

249. Poor girl.

250. Thanks to her, I'm now a shining example of a swordsman.

251. We don't have to set up a surprise attack and bother killing people this time.

252. Back then, even if we'd put on an act, it wouldn't have been very convincing.

253. It's a dragon!

254. Everyone, wake up! Run!

255. Burn it all down!

256. Torch it to the ground!

257. This town is surrounded by mountains.

258. There's no way for us to escape!

259. You don't have to escape.

260. Everything about this surprise attack

261. will forever remain a mystery.

262. Someone…

263. Please help me.

264. My dad and mom…

265. They're trapped under the house.

266. Please.

267. Save them.

268. Flair-chan, did you do it? You brought help?

269. Excuse me.

270. Mister, could you give me a hand?

271. D.R.,

272. take the plunder and go on ahead.

273. We've managed to destroy the town

274. and got our hands on plenty of money.

275. Why not gain some fame while we're at it?

276. If the girl finds out the truth, she'd be thrown into panic.

277. Imagine discovering someone you trusted destroyed your town

278. and even killed your parents.

279. Are you awake?

280. Dad? Mom?

281. I'm sorry,

282. but I couldn't save them.

283. Please forgive me.

284. So that's what happened.

285. It was awful of me to call you a murderer.

286. You don't seem too down.

287. Those guys would only have a field day if I wallowed in depression.

288. I'm pissed with the guy.

289. Besides,

290. I would've sooner taken my own life than sit here and mope.

291. You should get out of here too.

292. The dragon is coming either way.

293. Forget about this town.

294. I wish you safe travels.

295. It looks like the dragon's finally here.

296. But we haven't plundered the town of all its treasures yet.

297. It's here.

298. Shirano-san is our only hope.

299. Damn it! Why does it have to be our town?

300. It's that samurai's fault!

301. It's all because of that guy from God knows where!

302. We have to trust

303. Shirano-san.

304. First of all, if you don't give a damn about hitting other people's scabbards,

305. it's proof that you don't have

306. the heart of a true warrior.

307. Looks like we've been found out.

308. I didn't expect someone to remain here in town.

309. Yes, that's right. You guessed it.

310. I'm actually a bad guy.

311. I'm not interested in fighting for the sake of the world or others.

312. We orchestrated the Great Surprise Attack seven years ago.

313. Shirano-san is a shining example of a swordsman.

314. And it was us who killed all my subordinates and stole the Dragon's Horn.

315. Hooray! Shirano-san will defeat the dragon for us!

316. I'm making a killing! I can't quit being the villain now!

317. I'll have you take all the blame and die!

318. Shirano-san is willing to sacrifice his life for our sake.

319. Scumbag!

320. Impossible! I can't believe it. How could Shirano be defeated?

321. I mean, it's Shirano!

322. He may be rotten, but he's still a Master Swordsman!

323. How could he lose? What did you do, bastard?

324. Hold on. Stay right there!

325. The horn that I destroyed earlier,

326. it was fake.

327. I have the real one right here.

328. The truth is that there's time still.

329. But the thing is that not anyone can control the dragon with this horn.

330. It took me three years to master this skill.

331. Get it?

332. It means I'm the only one who can stop the dragon.

333. Kill me, and the town will be—

334. As it happens…

335. I'm an outsider.

336. It's huge!

337. Our town's going to burn.

338. We're doomed. Even Shirano-san…

339. I'll die…

340. along with this town.

341. It's him!

342. It's just a glorified lizard with wings.

343. What, you're still here? Thought you left.

344. No…

345. I took cover.

346. - What about— - Stop.

347. Stop thinking about ending your life.

348. I hear it's no fun

349. being dead.

350. You're so strong!

351. But I've never heard of you before.

352. Why did you do it? Fight that dragon?

353. You took on a battle where no number of lives would have been enough!

354. Why did you risk your life to save a town you don't even live in?

355. To save this town.

356. I told you before.

357. Didn't I say?

358. You saved my life, remember?

359. That I'd repay your kindness even if it cost me my life.

360. I told you I'd pay you back someday even if it killed me.

361. Oh. Actually, when I think about it, I fought twice for you… So now you owe me.

362. But…

363. I fought twice, so you still owe me a favor.

364. I expect my next meal to be on the house… Don't forget.

365. I'll stop by for a meal sometime.

366. Keep that in mind.

367. Don't worry, I won't…

368. Can't believe that Shirano and the weird guy were in cahoots.

369. I can't believe Shirano and that weird guy were working together.

370. He fooled us, that damn scumbag!

371. He had us fooled the whole time, that Master Scumbag!

372. Did that samurai really do this?

373. Did that one samurai really do this?

374. Now I remember.

375. I remember now.

376. Ryuma de King.

377. Yeah, “Ryuma the King. ”

378. Huh?

379. It's a name given to him by those he saved,

380. That's what people call him, the people whose lives he's saved… I don't think he

381. knows it, though.

382. so I doubt he's aware of it.

383. The King?

384. - King? - Yeah.

385. Yeah…

386. A swordsman with the heart of the world's greatest warrior… That's him.

387. A swordsman with the heart of the world's greatest warrior.

388. As long as you feel shame, that's enough.

389. If you feel shame, that's enough.

390. A true swordsman in mind and body.

391. You're a true swordsman in body and spirit.

392. I wish I could have met you in your own era.

393. I wish I could have met you while you still lived.

394. I'll take the sword, alright.

395. I'll take the sword,

396. but let's pretend this fight never happened,

397. But let's pretend like this fight never happened.

398. samurai of the Land of Wano.

399. Okay with you?… Samurai from Wano?
