Hell House LLC (2015)

1. - Hey everyone, this is Stephen Cognetti,

2. "Hell House" writer/director.

3. Thanks for checking out the director's cut

4. of the original "Hell House" film.

5. The difference between this cut

6. and the one released years ago

7. is that this is my first cut of the film,

8. almost exactly as it was intended,

9. going directly by the script.

10. After multiple screenings with people involved in the film,

11. we cut some scenes, rearranged others.

12. This cut has everything back in place.

13. So you'll see scenes that were

14. deleted from the original cut.

15. We've also added in a lot of fun extras

16. that I hope you'll enjoy, like a behind-the-scenes

17. documentary, the original scouting footage I took

18. at the Abaddon Hotel, almost a year before we began filming,

19. auditions of the "Hell House" gang,

20. and other stuff like that.

21. So I hope you enjoy, and stay tuned to our Facebook page

24. - In your opinion, What happened that night

25. at the Abaddon Hotel?

26. - I don't know.

27. - You want to know what I think happened that night?

28. I have no idea.

29. - Breaking news, just reaching us now.

30. Tragedy at a Halloween haunted house in Abaddon.

31. - To this day, I can't give you an answer to that question.

32. - Well, Hell House was a real tragedy on many levels.

33. - From what we're hearing, the opening night

34. of this haunted house tour ended in disaster.

35. Multiple deaths, but police aren't answering

36. any of our questions.

37. - You had older victims and younger victims,

38. these are people who are paying for the scare experience

39. in a controlled environments, but in the end,

40. what they got was total chaos.

41. - A small abandoned hotel was transformed

42. into a haunted attraction.

43. It was due to run tours the next few weeks

44. through Halloween.

45. We're not sure if anybody from the company

46. has made it out alive as of right now.

47. Shaking tour-goes appear to not really know

48. what was going on either.

49. - I've been waiting on line for about five minutes now,

50. and I mean, I just see all these bunch of people coming out.

51. I'm like, "Dude, where do I go?"

52. - No, we had no idea.

53. We still don't know.

54. - Whenever people ask me what happened in Hell House,

55. I tell them, "You watch the video, you tell me."

56. - How many people are they letting in at a time?

57. - I don't know.

58. - It's a long wait.

59. I think we're next.

65. Technical difficulties on opening night.

76. - Nobody knew what to make of the YouTube video,

77. and then the 911 tape leaked, and that just

78. confused people even more.

79. - 911, what's your emergency?

80. - Hello?

81. Hello, I'm at the Abaddon Hotel,

82. can you please send some police?

83. - What's the problem, Miss?

84. - I don't know!

85. Into the wall!

86. - Someone's hurt?

87. I'm sorry, I can't hear you.

88. - Please hurry, I don't want to—

89. - The cause of death is now

90. vaguely being blamed on a severe malfunction.

91. What exactly malfunctioned isn't clear,

92. and authorities aren't saying.

93. - All we have from that night is the video

94. the tour-goer shot, uploaded to YouTube

95. before the police got ahold of it.

96. The 911 call was the only other thing,

97. and that didn't really tell us much

98. of what was going on inside.

99. Then this photographer, Martin Cliver comes along,

100. gets inside the hotel, takes pictures,

101. puts it up on the internet.

102. Starts to raise some real questions

103. that the town does now want answers to.

104. - The hardest part.

105. The hardest part was probably the silence.

106. Everything was very hush hush.

107. There were gag orders put on everyone involved

108. with the case.

109. Cops, lawyers, even the families of the victims

110. were left pretty much completely in the dark.

111. It was impossible to get anyone to talk to us at first.

112. So I wanted to see inside of the hotel, first and foremost.

113. Asking questions was, like I said, getting me nowhere.

114. So I went to the hotel, and I walked around the back

115. and found a little window and knocked out the boards

116. and climbed inside.

117. - The blood on the floor, what do you make of that?

118. - Well, it certainly debunks the theory that there was

119. some sort of a gas leak, which we all knew

120. was bullshit in the first place.

121. So I eventually found my way to the basement door.

122. It was blown off it's hinges, like someone had

123. forced their way through it, and I'm not gonna lie,

124. I stood to the side of the door and pointed the camera

125. down the stairs, and just snapped a few pictures.

126. I've seen a lot.

127. I've been to a lot of scary places in my career,

128. and there was no way I was going down those stairs.

129. No way.

130. - Do you think we need more light?

131. - Yes, princess, I got it.

135. We're doing all this work for nothing.

631. the night of the Hell House incident,

632. and was one of the first people inside.

633. So, he said the first body they came across

634. was one of the Hell House members.

635. He couldn't say which one.

636. But he said their throat had been cut,

637. and that he was pretty sure that the wound

638. was self inflicted.

639. What the hell happened in there?

640. And your guess is as good as mine,

641. and I honestly don't think we'll ever know.

642. And then, of course, there's the very strange,

643. very sad case of Joey Sheifler, who was in the basement

644. at the time of the chaos, actually made it out alive.

645. Of course, we all know how that ended.
