1. Alex.Copy !req
2. Tod and George's dad just called.Copy !req
3. He's picking you up at
3:30 tomorrow.Copy !req
4. And the bus leaves the high school
for the airport around 5:00Copy !req
5. How's my suitcase working out for you?Copy !req
6. Whoa, Mom, Mom, Mom,
you gotta leave that on.Copy !req
7. Yeah, it's like the tag made the last flight
without the plane crashing or anything.Copy !req
8. So I figure it's gotta be on the bag,
or at least, with the bag.Copy !req
9. For luck.Copy !req
10. Where would you get
a nutball idea like that?Copy !req
11. I'm still here.Copy !req
12. So 17, on the loose.Copy !req
13. Senior trip with your friends in Paris.Copy !req
14. Ten days in the springtime.Copy !req
15. Live it up, Alex.Copy !req
16. You got your whole life ahead of you.Copy !req
17. Alex.Copy !req
18. Alex.Copy !req
19. The white zone...Copy !req
20. is for immediate loading and
unloading of passengers only.Copy !req
21. No parking.Copy !req
22. Yeah, I've been sitting here
for over an hour.Copy !req
23. Where are you?Copy !req
24. - Hey, Hitchcock.
- What?Copy !req
25. Let me give you a hand with this, man.
There you go.Copy !req
26. Carter, you dick.Copy !req
27. - Schmuck.
- Good one.Copy !req
28. - You left this on the bus.
- Oh, thanks.Copy !req
29. Come on, let's get your stuff together.Copy !req
30. Hey, Christa. Hi, Blake.Copy !req
31. - What are you doing?
- He's the man. The man.Copy !req
32. All right, you guys got everything?Copy !req
33. Yeah, yeah. Dad, we're all set.Copy !req
34. Does that mean go?Copy !req
35. Don't know.Copy !req
36. Look, this is for both of you, all right?
Have a great time.Copy !req
37. - Thanks, Dad.
- Yeah.Copy !req
38. - Both of us.
- Let's go.Copy !req
39. - Alex.
- Yes?Copy !req
40. - You take care of them.
- I will.Copy !req
41. You know, I didn't think anything
could look worse than my yearbook photo.Copy !req
42. How do you think I feel
having to look at you all the time?Copy !req
43. - What the fuck does he want?
- Shh.Copy !req
44. "The airport does not
endorse solicitors."Copy !req
45. Death is not the end.Copy !req
46. It will be for you
if you harass my students.Copy !req
47. - Hare Rama.
- Fuck off.Copy !req
48. I have to ask you a few questions
this evening.Copy !req
49. Did you pack your bags yourself?Copy !req
50. Have your belongings remained
in your possession the entire time?Copy !req
51. Mr. Browning?Copy !req
52. Oh, yeah.Copy !req
53. Have you received any packages
from persons unknown to you?Copy !req
54. - Same as your birthday.
- What?Copy !req
55. September 25, 9:25.Copy !req
56. Your birthday's the same
as your departure time.Copy !req
57. - Because I looked at him.
- Are you sure?Copy !req
58. Lisa, wait up.Copy !req
59. No, it's okay.Copy !req
60. Fuck, that was good.Copy !req
61. Dick.Copy !req
62. - Hey.
- Hey, George, Dad said both.Copy !req
63. Both of us, all right, man?
Just give me some cash.Copy !req
64. Hey, hey, knock it off.Copy !req
65. - Excuse me.
- Catch.Copy !req
66. You asshole.Copy !req
67. - Thanks.
- You're welcome.Copy !req
68. Alex, let's go take a shit.Copy !req
69. - Why don't you go by yourself?
- No, dude. Listen, okay?Copy !req
70. Listen, take some knowledge.Copy !req
71. We're about to board
a seven-hour flight.Copy !req
72. The toilets in coach are barely
ventilated closets, all right, if that.Copy !req
73. Now, let's say halfway through the flight,
your body wants that food out.Copy !req
74. You gotta go torque a wicked cable.Copy !req
75. And then right after you, like, directly
after you walks in Christa or Blake.Copy !req
76. You want them to associate you
with that watery sting in their eye?Copy !req
77. That reflexive gag
at the back of their throat?Copy !req
78. John Denver.Copy !req
79. Died in a plane crash.Copy !req
80. Ladies and
gentlemen, thank you for your patience.Copy !req
81. At this time,
we would like to begin preboarding...Copy !req
82. of Volée Air Flight 180 to Paris
through Gate 46.Copy !req
83. Anyone seen Billy Hitchcock?Copy !req
84. How did we lose him?Copy !req
85. Go. Go.Copy !req
86. Go. Ow.Copy !req
87. Ow. That hurt.Copy !req
88. Oh, my little baby.Copy !req
89. That's a good sign.
The younger, the better.Copy !req
90. It'd be a fucked-up God
to take down this plane.Copy !req
91. Hi.Copy !req
92. A really fucked-up God.Copy !req
93. Yeah.Copy !req
94. - Hi.
- Hey, Tod.Copy !req
95. Hello. How you doing?
I'm gonna sit here.Copy !req
96. - Can you switch seats with Christa?
- Oh, God.Copy !req
97. You know, I would,
but I got a bladder thing.Copy !req
98. It's a urinary tract infection.Copy !req
99. Let's go ask Alex.Copy !req
100. Alex, could you trade seats with Blake
so she and I could sit together?Copy !req
101. She asked Tod, but he said
he had some sort of medical thing.Copy !req
102. Please?Copy !req
103. Yeah.Copy !req
104. You're so sweet.Copy !req
105. - Thanks, Alex.
- Thank you, Alex.Copy !req
106. You're welcome, you're welcome,
you're welcome.Copy !req
107. Fag.Copy !req
108. Did you really think we're gonna
titty fuck them over Greenland?Copy !req
109. You know, because of you, I gotta sit here
and watch fucking Stuart Little.Copy !req
110. Thank you.Copy !req
111. Thanks, man. That's great.Copy !req
112. Sorry I'm late.
That's my seat right there.Copy !req
113. - Hello?
- I'm going that way.Copy !req
114. May I have your attention?Copy !req
115. To properly fasten your seat belts,
slide the flat portion into the buckle.Copy !req
116. - Equipped with six emergency exits: Two
in front, two over the wing, two in the rear.Copy !req
117. All exits are clearly marked.Copy !req
118. Follow the red exit signs
and public lighting in the aisle way.Copy !req
119. Flight
attendants, prepare for departure.Copy !req
120. - All right.
- All right, all right.Copy !req
121. Yeah.Copy !req
122. Whatever.Copy !req
123. Huh?Copy !req
124. It's okay.Copy !req
125. - I wanna go.
- It's fine.Copy !req
126. It's okay, honey, I...Copy !req
127. What the...?Copy !req
128. Oh, my God!Copy !req
129. Everybody...Copy !req
130. No! No!Copy !req
131. Christa! No!Copy !req
132. Alex, could you trade seats with Blake
so she and I could sit together?Copy !req
133. She asked Tod, but he said
he had some medical thing.Copy !req
134. Please?Copy !req
135. What's up, dude?Copy !req
136. - Is there a problem, sir?
- What's your problem?Copy !req
137. Alex, qu'est-ce que c'est?Copy !req
138. - The fucking plane's gonna explode.
- Shut up, Browning.Copy !req
139. - You're so not funny.
- If this is your joke...Copy !req
140. It's not a joke. It's not a joke.Copy !req
141. - Alex, take it easy.
- That's it, sit down, Browning.Copy !req
142. - It's going down.
- We will remove you.Copy !req
143. - I'll remove him.
- I'll remove myself.Copy !req
144. - Excuse me.
- Get off him.Copy !req
145. - That's my seat right there.
- This plane is going down.Copy !req
146. Everybody in the aisle, off the plane.Copy !req
147. - Get off the plane.
- Stay where you are.Copy !req
148. - Just sit tight.
- The fucking plane is going down.Copy !req
149. Go check him out.
See how he's doing.Copy !req
150. Okay.Copy !req
151. - I got my ticket here.
- Get off me.Copy !req
152. Jerk.Copy !req
153. - Hey.
- You got this?Copy !req
154. No one gets back on board.Copy !req
155. - That's my call.
- Wait, please.Copy !req
156. I've got 40 students going to Paris.
Please, please?Copy !req
157. - Look, you must understand my position.
- I understand, and I apologize for Alex.Copy !req
158. But one of us needs to be on that plane.Copy !req
159. I cannot let students
go to Paris for ten days...Copy !req
160. Carter, no.Copy !req
161. - Sit the fuck down, Carter.
- Sit down.Copy !req
162. Sit.Copy !req
163. One of you can go on
the flight. That's it.Copy !req
164. Larry.Copy !req
165. Airline's not taking this well.
They'll let one of us back on.Copy !req
166. The rest can take an 11:10 flight.
It gets in three...Copy !req
167. I'll stay.Copy !req
168. No, no, you know the whole French thing.
Get on the plane, it's fine.Copy !req
169. Hi, Mr. Murnau.
See, I was in the bathroom.Copy !req
170. And the lock, it was stuck, and...Copy !req
171. Oh, wait, I didn't fight with anyone.Copy !req
172. Damn.Copy !req
173. Thanks.Copy !req
174. I just... I called your parents.
They're on their way.Copy !req
175. We should be going.Copy !req
176. Alex, talk to me. Tell me what happened.Copy !req
177. I saw it.Copy !req
178. Like, I don't know. I saw it.
I saw it on the runway.Copy !req
179. I saw it take off.Copy !req
180. I saw out my window.Copy !req
181. - I saw the ground, and...
- Carter.Copy !req
182. The cabin, it starts to shake, right?
And the left side blows up.Copy !req
183. And then the whole plane just explodes.Copy !req
184. And it was so real. Just like
how everything happens, you know?Copy !req
185. You been on planes that blew up?Copy !req
186. You must have fallen asleep.Copy !req
187. Whoa, we get thrown off the plane.Copy !req
188. We blow, what, a half a day in Paris...Copy !req
189. all because Browning
has a bad fucking dream?Copy !req
190. But wait, "The plane, it's gonna
blow up, it's gonna blow up."Copy !req
191. - Hey, hey, fuck you, Horton.
- Tod.Copy !req
192. The only trip you're taking
is to the fucking hospital.Copy !req
193. - Get off him.
- Hey, hey.Copy !req
194. - Alex, stop it.
- Come on, now.Copy !req
195. There they go, here we stay.Copy !req
196. - You're paying for my trip.
- I wish you were on that plane.Copy !req
197. - You fucking prick.
- Oh, shit!Copy !req
198. - Call it in.
- Security...Copy !req
199. You're looking at me
as if I caused this.Copy !req
200. I didn't cause this.Copy !req
201. Are there any survivors?Copy !req
202. How should I know?Copy !req
203. - What, you think I'm some sort of...?
- He's not a witch.Copy !req
204. Hello, I'm Howard Seigel,
National Transportation Safety Board.Copy !req
205. We've contacted all your families.
They are on the way.Copy !req
206. Is there anyone here who feels they
might need a little medical attention...Copy !req
207. or spiritual counseling at this time?Copy !req
208. What's going on?Copy !req
209. Are there any survivors?Copy !req
210. Well, the cause for the explosion
is still undetermined.Copy !req
211. The Nassau County authorities
are on the scene.Copy !req
212. Naval Search and Rescue en route. We...Copy !req
213. Excuse me.Copy !req
214. I'm Agent Weine. This is Agent Schreck.Copy !req
215. We're with the FBI.Copy !req
216. I understand how you all
must be feeling right now.Copy !req
217. I know it's gonna be difficult.Copy !req
218. We're gonna ask you questions
regarding today's events...Copy !req
219. while they're still
fresh in your mind.Copy !req
220. This will prove invaluable to our rescue
attempts and any criminal investigation.Copy !req
221. You said, "Listen to me.
This plane will explode on takeoff."Copy !req
222. How did you know that?Copy !req
223. I got this feeling.Copy !req
224. This weird feeling.Copy !req
225. Did you take any sedatives
before boarding the plane?Copy !req
226. Did you take any sleeping pills,
any narcotics, hallucinogens?Copy !req
227. - Alex, do you take any drugs?
- No.Copy !req
228. I saw it.Copy !req
229. I saw it happen.Copy !req
230. I saw the plane explode.Copy !req
231. Did the feelings
have anything to do with your saying...Copy !req
232. that you wished that Carter Horton
was on the plane just before it exploded?Copy !req
233. - No.
- Then why'd you say it?Copy !req
234. Because I really didn't think
it was gonna happen.Copy !req
235. If that's the case, Alex, then why
did you really get off the plane?Copy !req
236. My brother, George, he told me
to go and keep an eye on Alex.Copy !req
237. And so he stayed, and...Copy !req
238. He told me to get off the plane.Copy !req
239. Larry Murnau said I should get back on,
but I told him that he should go.Copy !req
240. I sent him back on the plane.Copy !req
241. All right.Copy !req
242. Nobody forced you off the plane.Copy !req
243. You said you weren't friends
with those that were.Copy !req
244. So, Clear,
why did you get off the plane?Copy !req
245. Because I saw and I heard Alex.Copy !req
246. And I believed him.Copy !req
247. Honey.Copy !req
248. Oh, God.Copy !req
249. There he is.Copy !req
250. Over here.Copy !req
251. Thank you for the ride.Copy !req
252. You're looking
at the first piece of debris...Copy !req
253. to wash ashore
from Volée Air Flight 180...Copy !req
254. which erupted shortly
after a 9:25 p.m. Takeoff...Copy !req
255. from John F. Kennedy Airport
in New York.Copy !req
256. There are no known survivors.Copy !req
257. However, Coast Guard
and Naval Search and Rescue efforts...Copy !req
258. are continuing at this moment even
as jet fuel burns on the ocean's surface.Copy !req
259. Authorities are pessimistic
about the possibility...Copy !req
260. of finding anyone alive
from the ill-fated flight.Copy !req
261. All 287 passengers are feared dead.Copy !req
262. Amongst the travelers, a class of
40 students and four teachers...Copy !req
263. from Mount Abraham High School
in southeast New York...Copy !req
264. en route to Paris on a field trip.Copy !req
265. There are reports that several students
were removed from the aircraft...Copy !req
266. moments before departure.Copy !req
267. However, investigators remain guarded
about the specifics of this incident.Copy !req
268. Authorities from the National
Transportation and Safety Board...Copy !req
269. and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation have arrived at JFK...Copy !req
270. to begin the initial investigation.Copy !req
271. Eyewitnesses at the airport,
as well as on Long Island...Copy !req
272. report seeing the plane explode.Copy !req
273. No other aircraft
were visibly near Flight 180.Copy !req
274. At JFK, air traffic controllers
are corroborating...Copy !req
275. these eyewitness accounts.Copy !req
276. After the explosion, debris apparently rained
into the Atlantic Ocean for several miles.Copy !req
277. However, investigators are cautious
about verifying these accounts...Copy !req
278. believing they'll learn more from the
found debris when daylight arrives.Copy !req
279. Thirty-nine days have passed...Copy !req
280. since we lost our 39 loved ones,
friends and teachers.Copy !req
281. As each day passes without
a determining cause for the accident...Copy !req
282. we ask ourselves, "Why?"Copy !req
283. Ecclesiastes tells us:Copy !req
284. "Man no more knows his own time
than fish taken in the fatal net...Copy !req
285. or birds trapped in the snare.Copy !req
286. Like these, the children of men caught
when the time falls suddenly upon them."Copy !req
287. And so, before we can heal...Copy !req
288. before we can escape
the presence of death and time...Copy !req
289. we must mourn and celebrate theirs
with this memorial.Copy !req
290. I hope you don't think
because my name ain't up on this wall...Copy !req
291. that I owe you anything.Copy !req
292. I don't.Copy !req
293. Because all I owe are these people.Copy !req
294. To live my life to the fullest.Copy !req
295. Why don't you stay off
the J.D., then, huh, Carter?Copy !req
296. Listen. Don't you ever fucking tell me
what to do, all right?Copy !req
297. I control my life, not you.Copy !req
298. Carter.Copy !req
299. I'm never gonna die.Copy !req
300. Hey, Alex.Copy !req
301. - Hey.
- Hey.Copy !req
302. I took my driver's test last week
at the DMV.Copy !req
303. Got a 70. It's the lowest score
you can get, but I passed.Copy !req
304. When I was done with the test...Copy !req
305. You know the guy that drives with you?Copy !req
306. - Right.
- Yeah, well, anyways.Copy !req
307. He goes, "Young man, you're gonna die
at a very young age."Copy !req
308. Yeah. Yeah.Copy !req
309. Is that true?Copy !req
310. Not now, not here, not ever, Billy.Copy !req
311. If I ask out Cynthia Paster,
will she say no?Copy !req
312. Fuck.Copy !req
313. - Okay.
- Yeah.Copy !req
314. Yeah.Copy !req
315. - Miss Lewton...
- Don't talk to me.Copy !req
316. You scare the hell out of me.Copy !req
317. I'm gonna go up.Copy !req
318. Hey.Copy !req
319. Hey.Copy !req
320. I don't want you
to take this the wrong way.Copy !req
321. But I miss you, you know?Copy !req
322. Yeah.Copy !req
323. Yeah, I miss you too.Copy !req
324. But my father, you know,
he doesn't understand.Copy !req
325. Yeah.Copy !req
326. Hey, look, when he gets
over this thing...Copy !req
327. you and me,
little road trip to the city, you know?Copy !req
328. Catch the Yanks.Copy !req
329. Yeah. Yeah, all right, we'll do that.Copy !req
330. Cool.Copy !req
331. - Look, I'd better go.
- Yeah.Copy !req
332. This thing Miss Lewton showed me in
class, they're gonna let me read it.Copy !req
333. It says what I'm feeling.Copy !req
334. Take care, man.Copy !req
335. Because of you, I'm still alive.Copy !req
336. Thank you.Copy !req
337. "We say that the hour of death
cannot be forecast.Copy !req
338. But when we say this,
we imagine that the hour is placed...Copy !req
339. in an obscure and distant future.Copy !req
340. It never occurs to us
that it has any connection...Copy !req
341. with the day already begun.Copy !req
342. Or that death could arrive
this same afternoon.Copy !req
343. This afternoon, which is so certain...Copy !req
344. and which has every hour
filled in advance."Copy !req
345. What happened?Copy !req
346. Where's Tod?Copy !req
347. Alex.Copy !req
348. Get out of here.Copy !req
349. - Didn't you see it?
- What happened?Copy !req
350. You caused Tod so much guilt over George
staying on the plane, he took his own life.Copy !req
351. - No.
- Time to go.Copy !req
352. Look, he wouldn't do that.Copy !req
353. Okay? He said to me we'd be friends
again after you got better.Copy !req
354. Why would he make plans with me if he
was thinking about killing himself?Copy !req
355. Mr. Waggner.Copy !req
356. - Mr. Waggner.
- Here we go.Copy !req
357. Easy.Copy !req
358. All right.Copy !req
359. Here we go.Copy !req
360. Let's go.Copy !req
361. Almost autumn.Copy !req
362. It's only the end of June.Copy !req
363. Yeah, but everything's
always in transition.Copy !req
364. If you focus, one week into summer...Copy !req
365. you can feel almost feel
autumn coming.Copy !req
366. Kind of like being able
to see the future.Copy !req
367. Why were you at Tod's house last night?Copy !req
368. I've seen enough TV to know that the
FBI doesn't investigate teen suicides.Copy !req
369. They were there last night.
They don't have a clue...Copy !req
370. what caused the crash.Copy !req
371. They haven't ruled out anything.Copy !req
372. The fact that seven people got off
the plane is probably weird enough.Copy !req
373. Not to mention that one of those people
had a vision, or whatever...Copy !req
374. of the plane exploding minutes before
it did explode, is highly suspicious.Copy !req
375. And it doesn't help that the visionary's
friend just committed suicide.Copy !req
376. Why were you there last night?Copy !req
377. Do you know what this is?Copy !req
378. This is a...Copy !req
379. Who's the spring-head guy?Copy !req
380. It's you.Copy !req
381. Not a likeness.Copy !req
382. It's how you make me feel, Alex.Copy !req
383. I'm sorry.Copy !req
384. You know, like you, the sculpture
doesn't even know what, or why, it is.Copy !req
385. It's reluctant to take form.Copy !req
386. And yet, creating an absolute
but incomprehensible attraction.Copy !req
387. In four years of high school,
we haven't said one word to each other.Copy !req
388. At that moment on the plane,
I felt what you felt.Copy !req
389. I didn't know
where those emotions were from...Copy !req
390. until you started freaking out.Copy !req
391. I didn't see what you saw,
but I felt it.Copy !req
392. You can still feel it, can't you?Copy !req
393. Something from that day
is still with you.Copy !req
394. I know because I can still feel you.Copy !req
395. That's why I was there last night.Copy !req
396. You know,
I've never dealt with death before.Copy !req
397. This could all be in our head.Copy !req
398. It just feels like it's all around us.Copy !req
399. It?Copy !req
400. What if Tod was just the first?Copy !req
401. Of us?Copy !req
402. Is that something that you're feeling?Copy !req
403. I don't know, you know.
I just wish I could see him again.Copy !req
404. One last time.Copy !req
405. So maybe I would know.Copy !req
406. Then let's go see him.Copy !req
407. Easy.Copy !req
408. Gives me a rush.Copy !req
409. This place?Copy !req
410. Doing something I'm not supposed to.Copy !req
411. Come on.Copy !req
412. Hurry up.Copy !req
413. - Is that him?
- I think.Copy !req
414. Why did they make him up
like Michael Jackson?Copy !req
415. Yeah, that's him.Copy !req
416. But whatever it was that made him Tod
is definitely gone.Copy !req
417. Christ.Copy !req
418. Shh.Copy !req
419. Please.Copy !req
420. You'll wake the dead.Copy !req
421. Why did his hand do that?Copy !req
422. Chemicals in the vascular flush
create cadaveric spasms.Copy !req
423. Look, um...Copy !req
424. - I'm his friend and...
- I know who you are.Copy !req
425. What are all those tiny marks?Copy !req
426. Cuticle lacerations
from pulling at the wire.Copy !req
427. Pulling at the wire?Copy !req
428. If he was pulling at the wire,
he wasn't trying to kill himself.Copy !req
429. - It was an accident.
- In death, there are no accidents.Copy !req
430. No coincidences. No mishaps.Copy !req
431. And no escapes.Copy !req
432. What you have to realize is that we're all
just a mouse that a cat has by the tail.Copy !req
433. Every single move we make,
from the mundane to the monumental...Copy !req
434. the red light that
we stop at or run...Copy !req
435. the people we have sex with,
or won't with us...Copy !req
436. the airplanes that we ride,
or walk out of...Copy !req
437. it's all part of death's sadistic
design leading to the grave.Copy !req
438. Design?Copy !req
439. Does that mean if you figure out
the design, you could cheat death?Copy !req
440. Alex.Copy !req
441. You've already done that
by walking off the plane.Copy !req
442. Your friend's departure shows...Copy !req
443. that death has a new design
for all of you.Copy !req
444. Now, you have to figure out how
and when it's coming back at you.Copy !req
445. Play your hunch, Alex.Copy !req
446. If you think you can get away with it.Copy !req
447. But remember the risk
of cheating the plan...Copy !req
448. of disrespecting the design
could incite a fury...Copy !req
449. that could terrorize
even the Grim Reaper.Copy !req
450. And you don't even wanna fuck
with that Mack Daddy.Copy !req
451. Okay, then, well...Copy !req
452. Yeah, I'm sorry we broke in and...Copy !req
453. No harm. No foul.Copy !req
454. I'll see you soon.Copy !req
455. The mortician said
that death has a design.Copy !req
456. Okay.Copy !req
457. I'm talking about omens.Copy !req
458. How do we know that just by sitting
here, by sipping this coffee...Copy !req
459. or breathing the air
or crossing the intersection...Copy !req
460. that we haven't started in motion
the events that will lead to our death...Copy !req
461. 40 years from now,
10 years from now, tomorrow?Copy !req
462. We don't unless we open ourselves up...Copy !req
463. to the signs it's willing to show us.Copy !req
464. I don't understand.Copy !req
465. Did you see Tod die?Copy !req
466. Did it happen again, like on the plane?Copy !req
467. No, no, it didn't, but I mean,
it might as well have.Copy !req
468. This is a message of something, Clear.Copy !req
469. Or someone, hinting at a design.Copy !req
470. Total bullshit. I mean, you can find
death omens anywhere you want to.Copy !req
471. Coffee.
Starts with a C and ends with an E.Copy !req
472. So does the word choke.
So, what, we're gonna choke to death?Copy !req
473. I wanna hear you.Copy !req
474. We'll go nuts if you
start with this shit.Copy !req
475. The mortician said
that death has a design, right?Copy !req
476. Now, what if you, me, Tod, Carter,
Terry, Billy, Miss Lewton...Copy !req
477. messed up that design
for whatever reason?Copy !req
478. I saw death's plan, then we cheated it.Copy !req
479. But what if it was our time?Copy !req
480. What if we were not meant
to get off that plane?Copy !req
481. What if it still is our time?Copy !req
482. If it is, then it's not finished.Copy !req
483. And we will die now, not later.Copy !req
484. Unless...Copy !req
485. Unless we find the patterns
and cheat it again.Copy !req
486. After hearing you, I do believe...Copy !req
487. that Tod killed himself.Copy !req
488. Yeah, I'm fine. Whatever.Copy !req
489. - You all right, man?
- Hey, baby, come on, not now.Copy !req
490. - Carter.
- Oh.Copy !req
491. It looks like
we have a bit of a reunion here.Copy !req
492. - Let it go.
- When are you moving?Copy !req
493. A couple weeks.Copy !req
494. - That's too bad.
- You dick.Copy !req
495. - We're losing our favorite teacher.
- Baby, come on.Copy !req
496. Look, guys. There's something
I need to tell you, okay?Copy !req
497. Alex.Copy !req
498. And you lived here
your whole life? Yeah.Copy !req
499. And now she's gotta move
all because of Browning.Copy !req
500. Enough, both of you.Copy !req
501. They died and we lived.Copy !req
502. Get over it.Copy !req
503. I will not let this plane crash
be the most important thing in my life.Copy !req
504. I'm moving on, Carter.Copy !req
505. And if you wanna waste your life...Copy !req
506. beating the shit out of Alex
every time you see him...Copy !req
507. then you can just drop fucking dead.Copy !req
508. - Okay.
- You look like a smart shopper.Copy !req
509. Well, thank you.Copy !req
510. Let's just say you were to see
this knife set in a department store.Copy !req
511. What do you think you'd have
to pay?Copy !req
512. Wow, that's a huge knife set,
but how many...?Copy !req
513. - Hello?
- Is Alex there?Copy !req
514. Oh, hi, Clear. Yeah, just a minute.Copy !req
515. It's Clear again. You wanna talk to her?Copy !req
516. The economy kept trading
volume below average today, and stocks...Copy !req
517. Clear, he's in the shower.Copy !req
518. - Can I get him to call you back?
- Sure, bye.Copy !req
519. She's concerned about you.Copy !req
520. I'm concerned about you.Copy !req
521. Why won't you talk to her?Copy !req
522. Or me?Copy !req
523. - Which could put a cloud
over both stocks and bonds.Copy !req
524. Dad, you and Mom
have both been a big help.Copy !req
525. But there's something I need to understand
before I can talk to anyone.Copy !req
526. - The Dow down 75.Copy !req
527. The National Transportation Safety Board
has a new theory tonight...Copy !req
528. on the possible cause of the
explosion of Volée Air Flight 180.Copy !req
529. Officials believe
deterioration of silicon insulation...Copy !req
530. on an electrical connector
to the scavenger pump...Copy !req
531. may have leaked combustible fluids.Copy !req
532. - A spark in the fuel switch...
- That's Tod's seat.Copy !req
533. in the fuselage may have ignited the
fuel line and proceeded to the fuel pump...Copy !req
534. which would have set off
the catastrophic explosion.Copy !req
535. The path of the explosion.Copy !req
536. Okay, the first was Tod.
Then it was Terry.Copy !req
537. They're dying in the order
they would have died.Copy !req
538. That's death's design.Copy !req
539. Miss Lewton's next.Copy !req
540. And whenever I can
fall asleep, I just...Copy !req
541. I see Terry Chaney.Copy !req
542. And in the day, out of nowhere...Copy !req
543. I hear the sound of my own voice
in my head...Copy !req
544. saying to Larry Murnau:Copy !req
545. "No, you know the whole French thing.
Get on the plane."Copy !req
546. Everything reminds me of that day.Copy !req
547. Right, yeah.Copy !req
548. I'm hoping a change will help.Copy !req
549. It's just that I've lived here
my whole life, you know?Copy !req
550. And everywhere I looked
were great memories.Copy !req
551. And now all I see is Larry...Copy !req
552. and those kids, you know?Copy !req
553. Just looking out my own front yard
makes me feel nothing but fear.Copy !req
554. Laura, I'm gonna have to call you back.Copy !req
555. Right.Copy !req
556. Hi, this is Valerie Lewton.
I need Agent Schreck.Copy !req
557. What are you doing here?Copy !req
558. I was just...Copy !req
559. I was checking the air in the tire
to make sure it's safe.Copy !req
560. Get in the car.Copy !req
561. Put on your seat belt.Copy !req
562. I believe that Miss Lewton is next.Copy !req
563. - Next?
- Yes.Copy !req
564. Yeah, next, because there's this pattern
that's occurring.Copy !req
565. Oh, right, a pattern, yeah.
You noticed that too, huh?Copy !req
566. Mom's favorite.Copy !req
567. So, what about this pattern, Alex?Copy !req
568. Did you see it
in another one of your visions?Copy !req
569. Did you catch it in some TV static?Copy !req
570. You know, I never asked
for what happened on the plane.Copy !req
571. You guys are gonna sit on your little chairs
and make fun of me. Whatever, it's fine.Copy !req
572. But I saved six lives on that plane.Copy !req
573. Six lives, and everybody in my
entire school thinks I'm a freak.Copy !req
574. And I'm not... I'm not suffering
from posttraumatic stress.Copy !req
575. I don't have a narcissistic
deity complex.Copy !req
576. I'm not going Dahmer on you guys.Copy !req
577. This just is.Copy !req
578. There is a pattern for us all.Copy !req
579. There's a pattern for you,
there is a pattern for you.Copy !req
580. There's a design for everyone.
I don't know how yet.Copy !req
581. But I'm gonna break this one.Copy !req
582. Alex, you came to our
attention at first...Copy !req
583. because you were under suspicion
in this plane explosion.Copy !req
584. Now, I know
you didn't blow up the plane.Copy !req
585. And we were ready to move on, but then
the other survivors started to die.Copy !req
586. First, your friend Tod.Copy !req
587. Then Terry Chaney,
while you were there at the scene.Copy !req
588. And now tonight we pick you
up at Val Lewton's house.Copy !req
589. Alex, nobody has control
over life and death.Copy !req
590. Unless they are taking lives
and causing death.Copy !req
591. Now, can you promise me
that no one else is going to die?Copy !req
592. No, I can't.Copy !req
593. As long as I'm in here,
it's out of my control, I'm sorry.Copy !req
594. Okay, go ahead. Get out of here.Copy !req
595. Thank you.Copy !req
596. That kid gives me the creeps.Copy !req
597. What are we gonna do?
We got nothing to hold him.Copy !req
598. That's not what I'm talking about.Copy !req
599. There were a couple of moments there...Copy !req
600. where I almost believed him.Copy !req
601. Can I tell you something?
Don't take this the wrong way.Copy !req
602. But sometimes, you give me the creeps.Copy !req
603. You've gotta stop this.
Stop this, it's a stupid mug.Copy !req
604. You're out of here.
Pretty soon, you'll be gone.Copy !req
605. You'll be gone.Copy !req
606. Miss Lewton.Copy !req
607. Miss Lewton.Copy !req
608. Okay, all right, okay.Copy !req
609. Just stay still, okay?Copy !req
610. Oh, God. Oh, God. Miss Lewton.Copy !req
611. Hey, Alex.Copy !req
612. Dude.Copy !req
613. I don't know where he is.Copy !req
614. - He's not talking to me.
- Why?Copy !req
615. Because I didn't believe him.Copy !req
616. If he does contact you...Copy !req
617. I think it would be in the best
interest of your safety if you called us.Copy !req
618. Now, here's my card.Copy !req
619. Toll-free number.Copy !req
620. Interesting work.Copy !req
621. Carter, you dick.Copy !req
622. What are you doing?Copy !req
623. Terry's name should be on this wall.Copy !req
624. Shit.Copy !req
625. Why'd you want us
to meet you here anyway, huh?Copy !req
626. Because they're watching me,
see if I go to Alex.Copy !req
627. That's why you're taking me.Copy !req
628. Why would I wanna see him?Copy !req
629. Because he knows
which one of us is next.Copy !req
630. So drive the speed limit, okay?Copy !req
631. Oh, and don't pass on the right.Copy !req
632. Billy, wait a minute here.
I'm getting a vision.Copy !req
633. You're the next one, man.Copy !req
634. Hey, man, why'd you say that?Copy !req
635. Because if you say another word,
I'm gonna fucking kill you.Copy !req
636. He could be anywhere from here
to a mile down.Copy !req
637. So you guys drive down there,
we'll meet around the middle.Copy !req
638. It'll take half the time.Copy !req
639. Do you think they're still up there?Copy !req
640. Somehow, Flight 180,
are they still in flight?Copy !req
641. Somewhere, are they safe?Copy !req
642. When I was a kid, like 6 or 7...Copy !req
643. I used to worry so much
about my parents dying.Copy !req
644. Lying awake at night just worrying.Copy !req
645. Yeah, well, most kids do, I guess.Copy !req
646. Most kids never have it happen.Copy !req
647. When I was 10, my dad went into
a 7-Eleven for cigarettes.Copy !req
648. I guess that he heard someone say,
"Don't turn around."Copy !req
649. So on reflex, or thinking
it was a friend joking, he did.Copy !req
650. And the guy blew his head off.Copy !req
651. Life became shit after that.Copy !req
652. My mom just couldn't deal anymore.Copy !req
653. She married this asshole...Copy !req
654. who my mom with my real dad would
have crossed the street to avoid this guy.Copy !req
655. He really didn't want a kid.
So my mom didn't either anymore.Copy !req
656. If that was the design
for my father and my family...Copy !req
657. then fuck death.Copy !req
658. God, I have thought a lot
about that somewhere, Alex.Copy !req
659. It exists, that place.
Where my dad is still safe.Copy !req
660. Where he had a full pack of cigarettes
that night and just kept driving.Copy !req
661. Where me and my mom
and my dad are still together...Copy !req
662. and have no idea
about this life here.Copy !req
663. Where our friends are still in the sky.Copy !req
664. Where everyone gets a second chance.Copy !req
665. Alex, we can't give up.Copy !req
666. Look, I can't go home.Copy !req
667. All right? After Miss Lewton,
they're gonna be looking for me.Copy !req
668. No, we're taking you to my dad's cabin.Copy !req
669. It's only a couple miles from my house.Copy !req
670. All right, Browning,
you fucking warlock.Copy !req
671. - Did you know about Miss Lewton, or what?
- Why do you think I was hiding?Copy !req
672. Billy told the FBI
he saw you running from her house.Copy !req
673. I was running because they blame me.Copy !req
674. They blame me for Tod, they blame
me for her, for the plane crash.Copy !req
675. The fire, like, caramelized her blood, Alex.
Your shoe prints were in it.Copy !req
676. - Your fingerprints were on the knives.
- I told you they were not...Copy !req
677. I'm not talking about whether or not you
did it. Or even if you knew she was dead.Copy !req
678. Did you know she was gonna be next
before she was?Copy !req
679. Yeah, I did.Copy !req
680. - I knew.
- All right.Copy !req
681. Out of us, who's next to see it?Copy !req
682. Please, tell me I'm gonna get to see
the Jets win a Super Bowl.Copy !req
683. It's me, right?
That's why you're not saying.Copy !req
684. I knew I should have felt up Tammy
in the pool that time.Copy !req
685. - What are you whining about? I'm next.
- He didn't say anything. Just drive.Copy !req
686. You have a responsibility to tell me.Copy !req
687. Do you think it's gonna make it
easier to know, Carter?Copy !req
688. Huh? It's not,
it's gonna make it fucking harder.Copy !req
689. You know, you get off
having control over me.Copy !req
690. - You let me decide how to deal with it.
- It doesn't matter who's next.Copy !req
691. Because we're all
on the same list. All of us.Copy !req
692. Oh, fuck. Really?Copy !req
693. All right, then why bother?
What's the fucking point, right?Copy !req
694. Me and Terry, we'll be back together
on the other side, so why wait any longer?Copy !req
695. Carter, what are you doing?Copy !req
696. Carter, slow down.Copy !req
697. - Slow down, Carter!
- Fuck you.Copy !req
698. - Knock it off.
- May as well go out on my own free will.Copy !req
699. Not with us in the fucking car.Copy !req
700. - Jesus, Carter, no.
- Stop it.Copy !req
701. Carter, stop the car.Copy !req
702. Hey, what's the worry
if it ain't your time?Copy !req
703. I could get nailed
and you all wouldn't give a shit, right?Copy !req
704. - It's only me.
- It doesn't work that way, Carter.Copy !req
705. And I fucking hated French class.Copy !req
706. - Control yourself.
- That's what I'm doing.Copy !req
707. I know what you're doing.
And it's all right to be scared.Copy !req
708. I'm not afraid, all right?
I decide when it's time.Copy !req
709. I control my life, I control my death.Copy !req
710. You don't have to prove to us
how big your balls are. Not now.Copy !req
711. - Carter, stop driving like such an asshole.
- What are you doing?Copy !req
712. Fuck it, Carter, Jesus Christ.
Carter, put your hands back on the wheel.Copy !req
713. - Carter, stop.
- Hands on the wheel, Carter.Copy !req
714. Oh, shit.Copy !req
715. Okay, Carter, easy.Copy !req
716. I am so close to puking
right now, you don't even wanna know.Copy !req
717. We're afraid too, Carter,
but we're not going to quit.Copy !req
718. Stop what you're doing
and stop this fucking car.Copy !req
719. Damn it, Carter.
I want you to stop this car right now.Copy !req
720. - Billy.
- Move it.Copy !req
721. - Hey, open the door, Billy.
- Move the fucking car!Copy !req
722. - Hey, open the fucking door.
- Move the car.Copy !req
723. Open it.Copy !req
724. - Open the door.
- Easy, easy, open the door.Copy !req
725. - Open the door.
- Billy, open the fucking door!Copy !req
726. - Billy, open it!
- Open the door!Copy !req
727. Open the door!Copy !req
728. Carter, listen to me. Don't do this.Copy !req
729. Goddamn it! Get out of the fucking car.Copy !req
730. Carter, listen to me. Hey, listen to me.Copy !req
731. This isn't the way.Copy !req
732. It's not the way. Get out of the car.Copy !req
733. - Come on!
- It's coming, it's coming!Copy !req
734. - Carter.
- It ain't my time.Copy !req
735. Oh, shit.Copy !req
736. Carter, listen to me. This isn't the way.
Get out of the car, Carter.Copy !req
737. Carter, get out of the car.Copy !req
738. Come on, get out!Copy !req
739. I can't get out!Copy !req
740. Alex! No!Copy !req
741. Man, he really is next.Copy !req
742. - Get out!
- Get out!Copy !req
743. - Come on!
- Fuck!Copy !req
744. Oh, God.Copy !req
745. I saw it. I saw the belt.Copy !req
746. - Scared now?
- It broke.Copy !req
747. Bullshit. He saved your life again.Copy !req
748. That's right.Copy !req
749. You're next, Carter.
I'm staying the fuck away from you.Copy !req
750. - Shut up.
- We don't need this shit right now.Copy !req
751. I don't need it ever. What are you doing?
Get away from him, he's next.Copy !req
752. Hey, fuck you, Billy. I'm not dead.Copy !req
753. Oh, you will be.
You're dead, you're dead.Copy !req
754. And you ain't taking me with you!Copy !req
755. Oh, shit. Oh, shit.Copy !req
756. Jesus fucking Christ!Copy !req
757. You should've been next.
You should've been next after Lewton.Copy !req
758. That's the plan. That's the design.Copy !req
759. - You should be dead.
- You're the fucking devil.Copy !req
760. I saw the seat belt.
I knew it would rip.Copy !req
761. That's how I saved him.
Just like the plane.Copy !req
762. Just like the explosion, I saw it.Copy !req
763. - The police are coming.
- Fuck, I saved him.Copy !req
764. Because I saved him...Copy !req
765. it skipped Carter, went to the next
in the path of the explosion, Billy.Copy !req
766. I have to see it.Copy !req
767. And if I see it, then I intervene.
And if I intervene, I cheat the design.Copy !req
768. What, intervene?
What are you, God now?Copy !req
769. Gods aren't afraid to die.Copy !req
770. Gods don't die. We do.Copy !req
771. - You know?
- Baby, you're losing it, okay?Copy !req
772. The police will be here.
We have to get you to my cabin.Copy !req
773. You can hide,
and get your head together.Copy !req
774. Okay, after Billy, I'm next. I'm next.Copy !req
775. - And then me.
- Hey, hey, hey, listen.Copy !req
776. I'm not gonna let it happen, okay?Copy !req
777. - Listen to me, all right?
- Hey, hey, hey.Copy !req
778. Why don't you two
just get the fuck out of here?Copy !req
779. Rusted.Copy !req
780. Tetanus.Copy !req
781. Nice one.Copy !req
782. I overlooked it.Copy !req
783. You tried to capitalize.
But I caught you, you fuck.Copy !req
784. I can beat you.Copy !req
785. Yeah, I mean, not forever, but I got
this cabin rigged to beat you now!Copy !req
786. - She was there a minute ago.
- What are you talking about?Copy !req
787. I'm not turning him in.Copy !req
788. It's too dangerous for him
out there alone.Copy !req
789. - I go with you.
- You can't.Copy !req
790. Clear, you just tell us where he is.Copy !req
791. Wait at home, I give you my word...Copy !req
792. that we will bring him in safely
in protective custody.Copy !req
793. I never moved.Copy !req
794. Christa asked me to change seats
but I never moved.Copy !req
795. I would've been up next to Tod.Copy !req
796. Fuck, why didn't I remember that?Copy !req
797. I never moved.
Clear's seat was in front of mine.Copy !req
798. She's next.Copy !req
799. Alex!Copy !req
800. Alex!Copy !req
801. Come on, get in the car.
We're going around. Get in the car.Copy !req
802. Come on!Copy !req
803. - Go!
- Move!Copy !req
804. Oh, shit.Copy !req
805. - There!
- Come on, let's go, over here.Copy !req
806. Alex!Copy !req
807. Alex, we're trying to help you.Copy !req
808. Fritz, get away from it.Copy !req
809. Come on.Copy !req
810. Alex!Copy !req
811. Run!Copy !req
812. We lost him.Copy !req
813. From the direction,
there's only one place he's heading.Copy !req
814. No shit.Copy !req
815. Clear!Copy !req
816. No.Copy !req
817. Oh, my God.Copy !req
818. Don't move. Stay there.Copy !req
819. Don't move, don't move.
Don't touch anything.Copy !req
820. You're grounded by the tires, okay?Copy !req
821. The car's gonna explode.Copy !req
822. I can only hold on for so long,
you know what to do.Copy !req
823. Don't!Copy !req
824. When I do this, it'll skip you,
and it'll be over.Copy !req
825. - It's the only way we can cheat death again.
- No, don't!Copy !req
826. Clear, I am not gonna let it beat us both.
You know what to do.Copy !req
827. I'll always be with you.Copy !req
828. No!Copy !req
829. Alex! Alex, get away from there.Copy !req
830. No!Copy !req
831. Alex. Alex.Copy !req
832. Damn it, you can't do this to me.Copy !req
833. Come on, baby. Come on.Copy !req
834. Alex, Alex?Copy !req
835. Alex, Alex?
Oh, shit, he's not breathing.Copy !req
836. Hold on, Alex. Come on, stay with me.Copy !req
837. - Well, we made it.
- Paris, I can't believe it.Copy !req
838. I just can't believe
we got on a plane again.Copy !req
839. You know what I'm saying?Copy !req
840. Wow.Copy !req
841. It's weird being here, huh?Copy !req
842. We finally completed a puzzle.Copy !req
843. It's just there's something missing,
you know?Copy !req
844. - To Terry.
- Yeah.Copy !req
845. - To Tod.
- To all of our friends that can't be here.Copy !req
846. - Cheers.
- Cheers.Copy !req
847. What?Copy !req
848. If you would have told me
six months ago...Copy !req
849. that the three of us
would be sitting here having a drink...Copy !req
850. - Yeah.
- I don't know.Copy !req
851. I mean, sometimes it just feels
like the two of you...Copy !req
852. are the only ones
who can really understand.Copy !req
853. You were right, Browning.
It did skip us. There was a design.Copy !req
854. We beat it. You know, we won.Copy !req
855. I think the only thing we won, Carter,
is a chance at a full life.Copy !req
856. A chance that I won't ever waste.Copy !req
857. Yeah, there's just something...Copy !req
858. You know, something I can't figure out.Copy !req
859. - What?
- About the design.Copy !req
860. Alex, just let it go. All right?Copy !req
861. I swear... Just hear me out, all right?Copy !req
862. - Oh, my God.
- It's just... Listen.Copy !req
863. Now, the path of the explosion determined
the order of our deaths, right?Copy !req
864. When I intervened and saved Carter...Copy !req
865. it skipped him and went to the
next person in the path. It went to Billy.Copy !req
866. All right, and then it was Clear.Copy !req
867. But I intervened and saved her,
so it went to me, but in my case...Copy !req
868. no one intervened, right?Copy !req
869. I was thrown from that power line
by the explosion.Copy !req
870. - So...
- So why did it skip you, right?Copy !req
871. How do we know that this isn't exactly
what was meant to happen?Copy !req
872. That out of everyone on Flight 180,
you, me and Carter were meant to live.Copy !req
873. Maybe that was the design all along.Copy !req
874. - Or you could still be next.
- Shut up, Carter.Copy !req
875. What? I didn't make up the rules.Copy !req
876. Somebody's gotta intervene
before death can skip them.Copy !req
877. Alex proved that three times.
In the plane, with me, you.Copy !req
878. For all I know, it could circle back
and get us all again.Copy !req
879. But I am the safest fucker in the world
because you're still next.Copy !req
880. Can we just stop talking about this?Copy !req
881. Let's figure out
what we're gonna do tomorrow.Copy !req
882. I'm gonna meet you back at the hotel.Copy !req
883. - Just wait, I'll go with you.
- No, just stay here.Copy !req
884. Okay, Clear? Just stay here.Copy !req
885. All right?Copy !req
886. See, it's true.
I told you you were next, man.Copy !req
887. Stop it, Carter.Copy !req
888. - Alex, wait.
- No, Clear, stay there.Copy !req
889. Okay? Stay away.Copy !req
890. Alex!Copy !req
891. Alex!Copy !req
892. I told you, you were next.Copy !req
893. - Then it just skipped me.
- So who's next?Copy !req
