11. A June 1967 poll by the Justice Ministry showed

12. that 71 % were opposed to abolishing it,

13. 16 % were in favor of abolishing it,

14. and 13 % were undecided.

20. The execution complex is hidden away in a corner of the prison.

21. To screen it from the rest of the facility,

33. All the building materials are standard, down to the reinforced concrete.

88. the trap door opens from the front, and the prisoner hangs.

90. The length of the rope is adjusted so that the condemned's feet

91. are left dangling a foot above the ground.

93. They steady the body and turn it to face the witnesses.

96. and the medical officer begins monitoring the prisoner's pulse.
