172. It's just... I feel like a right sissy.Copy !req
173. Well, don't act like one. Fifty p, please.Copy !req
174. If you're not coming again,
give us your shoes.Copy !req
175. Nah. You're all right.Copy !req
176. Right.Copy !req
177. What are you doing,
going around here like creeping Jesus?Copy !req
178. Naught.Copy !req
179. We found your nana in the Spar stores.
Where have you been?Copy !req
180. Boxing. Where do you think?Copy !req
181. What're you doing?Copy !req
182. I forgot me gloves.Copy !req

185. Copy down that diagram.
You only have five minutes left.Copy !req
186. Ow.Copy !req
187. Hurry. This way.Copy !req
188. You go to ballet every week?Copy !req
189. Yeah, but don't tell.Copy !req
190. Why do you need to take lessons?Copy !req
191. Why do you think? To get better, you divvy.Copy !req
192. - Do you got to wear a tutu?
- Fuck off.Copy !req
193. They're only meant for lasses.Copy !req
194. I wear me shorts.Copy !req
195. You won't ask for a tutu?Copy !req
196. What for?Copy !req
197. To dance in.Copy !req
198. I'd look a right dickhead.Copy !req
199. I think you'd look wicked.Copy !req
200. Come on.Copy !req
201. I don't know why you're looking at that.Copy !req
202. You can't take that out on a junior ticket.Copy !req
203. Come on!Copy !req
204. See you, then.Copy !req
205. Okay, Billy Elliot, into the centre.Copy !req
206. Right, now I want you to
watch carefully, girls.Copy !req
207. First, arabesque.Copy !req
208. Drop your shoulders.Copy !req
209. Look forward, beyond your fingertips.Copy !req
210. There!Copy !req
211. Right. Spin it, Mr Braithwaite. Spin it.Copy !req
212. Come on. Spin it! Now, focus!Copy !req
213. Look at yourselves! Look in the mirror!Copy !req
214. Ahhh!Copy !req
215. Christ almighty! What was that?Copy !req
216. What's going on?Copy !req
217. Nothing.Copy !req
218. Prepare, one and two.Copy !req
219. Strong position. Weight on both legs.Copy !req
220. And, pirouette.Copy !req
221. And down.Copy !req
222. Up you get.Copy !req
223. Find a place on that bloody wall,Copy !req
224. and focus on that spot.Copy !req
225. Then whip your head round,
and come back to that spot. Prepare.Copy !req
226. One, and two, and...Copy !req
227. Fuck it.Copy !req
228. Have you got the spot?Copy !req
229. Prepare!Copy !req
230. - Prepare.
- Prepare.Copy !req
231. Go!Copy !req
232. Go! Go!Copy !req
233. Go! Go, Billy!Copy !req

236. You look like a right wanker to me, son.Copy !req
237. Listen, Jackie.Copy !req
238. Listen, Jackie.Copy !req
239. If it was just the 50 pence a session,
you know,Copy !req
240. I can do without it.
I don't do it for the money.Copy !req
241. - What are you talking about?
- The boxing, man.Copy !req
242. I haven't seen hide nor hair
of your Billy for months.Copy !req
243. I was gonna say something,
but I thought it might be embarrassing.Copy !req
244. First I knew about it.
He's never got the gloves off.Copy !req
245. Send him round to my house.
I'll sharp knock some sense into him.Copy !req
246. Scab! Scab!Copy !req
247. Step open and balancé, balancé, balancé.Copy !req
248. Scab! Scab! Scab! Scab! Scab! Scab!Copy !req
249. Right. Let's do it again.Copy !req
250. Open, and lift your chest.
Right. Let's do it again.Copy !req
251. Thank you, Mr Braithwaite.
Step open. Open your arms. Do it.Copy !req
252. Pay attention. Arms. Like this. All right?Copy !req
253. Thank you, Mr Braithwaite. Step really open!Copy !req
254. Powerful! Proud!Copy !req
255. You're not concentrating.Copy !req
256. Yes, I am concentrating.Copy !req
257. You're not even trying.Copy !req
258. Can we have a go of it, Miss?Copy !req
259. Let's do it again.Copy !req
260. Listen, have you noticed
anything weird about our Billy lately?Copy !req
261. What are you after, like, a list?Copy !req
262. Aye, aye.Copy !req
263. Got enough food there, scab?Copy !req
264. What're you doing?Copy !req
265. Scabs eat well.Copy !req
266. You're me best mate.Copy !req
267. First rule of a union, Gary.
You never cross a picket line.Copy !req
268. We're all fucked if you forget that!Copy !req
269. We're fucked anyway.Copy !req
270. In a speech to Tory MPs yesterday,Copy !req
271. Prime Minister Margaret ThatcherCopy !req
272. referred to members of the striking
National Union of MineworkersCopy !req
273. as "the enemy within".Copy !req
274. The speech comes following
several months of violent clashesCopy !req
275. between police officers and striking miners...Copy !req
276. - See you, then.
Wait. Your breakfast...Copy !req
277. What the hell's he up to?Copy !req
278. One, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
279. And a one, two, three, and a turn.Copy !req
280. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
281. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
282. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
283. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
284. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
285. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
286. You, out! Now!Copy !req
287. I beg your pardon?Copy !req
288. Please, Miss.Copy !req
289. Don't.Copy !req
290. All right, which way are we facing? Come on.Copy !req
291. And a one, two, three, pas de bourrée.Copy !req
292. Ballet.Copy !req
293. What's wrong with ballet?Copy !req
294. What's "wrong" with ballet?Copy !req
295. It's perfectly normal.Copy !req
296. "Perfectly normal"?Copy !req
297. I used to go to ballet.Copy !req
298. See?Copy !req
299. Aye, for your nana.Copy !req
300. For girls. Not for lads, Billy.Copy !req
301. Lads do football orCopy !req
302. boxing orCopy !req
303. wrestling!Copy !req
304. Not frigging ballet.Copy !req
305. What lads do wrestling?Copy !req
306. Don't start, Billy.Copy !req
307. I don't see what's wrong with it.Copy !req
308. You know perfectly well what's wrong with it.Copy !req
309. - No, I don't.
- Yes, you do.Copy !req
310. - No, I don't!
- Yes, you bloody well do.Copy !req
311. Who do you think I am?Copy !req
312. You know quite nicely!Copy !req
313. What?Copy !req
314. What are you trying to say, Dad?Copy !req
315. You're asking for a hiding, Son.Copy !req
316. No, I'm not. Honest.Copy !req
317. You are, Billy. Billy!Copy !req
318. It's not just poofs, Dad.Copy !req
319. Some ballet dancers are as fit as athletes.Copy !req
320. What about that Wayne Sleep?
He was a ballet dancer.Copy !req
321. Wayne Sleep?Copy !req
322. Aye.Copy !req
323. Listen, Son,Copy !req
324. from now on you can forget
about the fucking ballet.Copy !req
325. You can forget about the fucking boxing,
as well.Copy !req
326. I'm busting my ass for those 50 pences,
and you're... No!Copy !req
327. From now on, you stay here
and look after your nana. Got it?Copy !req
328. Good.Copy !req
329. They used to say
I could have been a professional dancerCopy !req
330. - if I'd had the training.
- Will you shut up?Copy !req
331. I hate you!Copy !req
332. You're a bastard!Copy !req
333. Get off!Copy !req
334. Billy! Billy!Copy !req
335. Billy!Copy !req
336. Hello.Copy !req
337. My dad will kill me if he knows I'm here.Copy !req
338. He stopped you coming to classes.Copy !req
339. It's not his fault, Miss.Copy !req
340. That's all right with you, is it?Copy !req
341. I suppose so.Copy !req
342. You should stand up to him.Copy !req
343. You don't know what he's like.Copy !req
344. Well, that blows it.Copy !req
345. Blows what, Miss?Copy !req
346. Debbie?Copy !req
347. I've heard a lot about you.Copy !req
348. Durham's little Gene Kelly.Copy !req
349. Your dad work down the pit, then?Copy !req
350. Yeah.Copy !req
351. Must be hard for the family,
being out on strike.Copy !req
352. He is out on strike, isn't he?Copy !req
353. Of course.Copy !req
354. I shouldn't worry. It won't last long.Copy !req
355. Tom, don't.Copy !req
356. If they had a ballot, they'd be back tomorrow.Copy !req
357. It's just a few bloody commies,
stirring things up.Copy !req
358. Let's face it.
They haven't got a leg to stand on.Copy !req
359. Who doesn't?Copy !req
360. The miners. It stands to reason, doesn't it?Copy !req
361. Some pits are just uneconomical.Copy !req
362. If it costs more money to pay everybody
to dig the coal outCopy !req
363. than you get for the coal when you sell it,
what does that tell you?Copy !req
364. Don't know.Copy !req
365. Well, you wanna think about that,
don't you, son?Copy !req
366. Tom.Copy !req
367. If it was up to me,
I'd shut the lot of them down tomorrow.Copy !req
368. For God's sake.Copy !req
369. What do you do, Mr Wilkinson?Copy !req
370. He's been made redundant.Copy !req
371. I thought he was gonna hit me or something.Copy !req
372. Don't be silly.
He's just under a lot of pressure.Copy !req
373. That's what Mom says.
I think it's because he drinks too much.Copy !req
374. Does he drink too much, like?Copy !req
375. He's always pissed. Once he pissed himself.Copy !req
376. Your dad?Copy !req
377. 'Cause he's unhappy and that.
'Cause they sleep in separate beds.Copy !req
378. Why do they sleep in separate beds?Copy !req
379. So they can't have sex.Copy !req
380. Do they not have sex, like?Copy !req
381. Dad did it with this woman from work,
but they don't think I know.Copy !req
382. Do you miss your mom, then?Copy !req
383. Don't really miss her as such.
It's more like just feeling sad.Copy !req
384. Especially when I remember her
all of a sudden.Copy !req
385. When I forgot that she was dead and that.Copy !req
386. What about your mom?
Does she not have sex?Copy !req
387. No, she's unfulfilled.
That's why she does dancing.Copy !req
388. She does dancing instead of sex?Copy !req
389. Your family's weird.Copy !req
390. No, they're not.Copy !req
391. They are, though. They're mental.Copy !req
392. Get off!Copy !req
393. See? You're a nutter, you.Copy !req
394. Debbie! It's time for Billy to go home!Copy !req
395. Come on, Billy. I'll drop you off at the corner.Copy !req
396. I'll see you, Debbie.Copy !req
397. Okay, then.Copy !req
398. Miss, what have I blown?Copy !req
399. This'll sound strange, Billy,
but for some time nowCopy !req
400. I've been thinking of the Royal Ballet School.Copy !req
401. Aren't you a bit old, Miss?Copy !req
402. No, not me. You!Copy !req
403. I'm the bloody teacher.Copy !req
404. They hold auditions in Newcastle.Copy !req
405. I'd never be good enough.
I hardly know aught.Copy !req
406. No. Look, they're not interested in
how much ballet you know.Copy !req
407. They teach you that.
That's why they're a ballet school.Copy !req
408. It's how you move and
how you express yourself that's important.Copy !req
409. Express what?Copy !req
410. I think you're good enough to go for it.Copy !req
411. It would mean an awful lot of hard work.Copy !req
412. But I'm banned.Copy !req
413. Then maybe I should have a word with him.Copy !req
414. No, Miss!Copy !req
415. I could teach you on your own, if you want.Copy !req
416. We couldn't afford it.Copy !req
417. I'm not doing it for the money, Billy.Copy !req
418. But what about Dad?Copy !req
419. He doesn't need to know.Copy !req
420. - What about me boxing and that?
- Oh, for fuck's sake, Billy!Copy !req
421. If you want to piss about
with your little mates, that's fine with me.Copy !req
422. All right, don't lose your blob.Copy !req
423. "Blob"?Copy !req
424. So we could do it private-like?Copy !req
425. Just you and me.Copy !req
426. Miss, you don't fancy me, do you?Copy !req
427. No, Billy. Funnily enough, I don't.
Now, piss off.Copy !req
428. Piss off yourself.Copy !req
429. See you Monday, then.Copy !req
430. You coming in or what?Copy !req
431. What are you doing?Copy !req
432. Nothing. Just dressing up.Copy !req
433. Whose dress is that?Copy !req
434. Come on.Copy !req
435. - Whose dress is that?
- It's me sister's.Copy !req
436. - Did she give you it?
- She doesn't know.Copy !req
437. Do you wanna try?
You can have one of me mom's.Copy !req
438. Nah. You're all right.Copy !req
439. What're you doing that for?Copy !req
440. I'm just trying it on.Copy !req
441. Christ.Copy !req
442. Come here.Copy !req
443. Stay still.Copy !req
444. There.Copy !req
445. Won't we get in trouble?Copy !req
446. Don't be stupid. Me dad does it all the time.Copy !req
447. He dresses up in your mom's clothes?Copy !req
448. Only when he thinks everybody's out.Copy !req
449. Have you got a tutu yet?Copy !req
450. Do you think being a ballet dancer
would be better than being a miner?Copy !req
451. I don't know.Copy !req
452. It's just, I've got this audition in Newcastle
in a couple of weeks.Copy !req
453. - What for?
- To go to ballet school.Copy !req
454. Ballet school? Is that in Newcastle?Copy !req
455. London.Copy !req
456. You'd have to move
with your Tony and everybody?Copy !req
457. No. By meself.Copy !req
458. That's a bit steep.Copy !req
459. Can't you be a ballet dancer here, like?Copy !req
460. Don't be stupid!Copy !req
461. So, when you going there, then?Copy !req
462. I don't know. I haven't even got in yet.Copy !req
463. What does your dad say?Copy !req
464. He doesn't know.Copy !req
465. Fucking hell. Are you not going to tell him?Copy !req
466. Not yet, anyway.Copy !req
467. He might be quite pleased about it.
He could rent your room out.Copy !req
468. He couldn't. What about our Tony?Copy !req
469. What do you reckon?Copy !req
470. I think you shouldn't bother.Copy !req
471. Why not?Copy !req
472. I'd miss you.Copy !req
473. Fucking hell.Copy !req
474. Brought your things?Copy !req
475. I don't know if they're right, Miss.Copy !req
476. If they're special to you, they're right.Copy !req
477. What are they for?Copy !req
478. To give us some ideas for a dance.Copy !req
479. Come on, then. Let's see them.Copy !req
480. What's that?Copy !req
481. It's a letter.Copy !req
482. I can see it's a letter.Copy !req
483. It's me mom's.Copy !req
484. She wrote it for when I was 18,
but I opened it.Copy !req
485. Here.Copy !req
486. "To my son Billy.Copy !req
487. "Dear Billy.Copy !req
488. "I know I must seem
like a distant memory to you,Copy !req
489. "which is probably a good thing.Copy !req
490. "It will have been a long time,Copy !req
491. "and I will have missed seeing you grow.Copy !req
492. "Missed you crying, laughing,Copy !req
493. "and shouting."Copy !req
494. "I will have missed telling you off.Copy !req
495. "But please know that I was always there."Copy !req
496. "With you through everything."Copy !req
497. "With you through everything.Copy !req
498. "I always will be.Copy !req
499. "And I am proud to have known you,Copy !req
500. "and I am proud that you were mine.Copy !req
501. "Always be yourself.Copy !req
502. "I love you forever."Copy !req
503. "Mom."Copy !req
504. She must've been a very special woman,
your mother.Copy !req
505. No, she was just me mom.Copy !req
506. I brought tape and all.Copy !req
507. What is it?Copy !req
508. I Love to Boogie.Copy !req
509. It's one of our Tony's.Copy !req
510. Spin it! Go on!Copy !req
511. And tap. Go!Copy !req
512. Grandma, tea time.Copy !req
513. Where are you going?Copy !req
514. Go back to sleep.Copy !req
515. It's 4:00.Copy !req
516. You weren't thinking of taking it with you?Copy !req
517. If you just wanna stand round
getting the shit kicked out of you,Copy !req
518. that's your funeral.Copy !req
519. But some of us are
ready to fight back for once.Copy !req
520. They're already after you,
for fuck's sake.Copy !req
521. You're no good to us in jail.Copy !req
522. I don't plan on getting caught.Copy !req
523. What's going on?Copy !req
524. You, get back to bed!Copy !req
525. Both of you!Copy !req
526. Fuck you.Copy !req
527. Put it down.Copy !req
528. You gonna stop me?Copy !req
529. I'm warning you.Copy !req
530. You haven't got it in you.
You're finished!Copy !req
531. Since Mom died
you're nothing but a useless twat.Copy !req
532. What the fuck are you gonna do about it?Copy !req
533. - (CRASHING)
- Stop it!Copy !req
534. What the fuck are you looking at?Copy !req
535. You haven't been practicing.Copy !req
536. Prepare. One, two. And one, and two...Copy !req
537. Get up.Copy !req
538. Miss, I can't do it.Copy !req
539. That's because you're not concentrating.Copy !req
540. I am concentrating.Copy !req
541. You're not even trying!Copy !req
542. I am, Miss!Copy !req
543. Do it again.Copy !req
544. Can't.Copy !req
545. You do it again.Copy !req
546. No!Copy !req
547. Shit!Copy !req
548. I'm sorry.Copy !req
549. It's all right for you.
It's not you who has to do it!Copy !req
550. I know.Copy !req
551. You don't know anything!
What do you know in your posh houseCopy !req
552. with your husband that pisses himself?Copy !req
553. You're the same as everybody else.
All you want is to tell me what to do.Copy !req
554. Now wait a minute!Copy !req
555. Look, I don't wanna do
your stupid fucking audition!Copy !req
556. You only want me to do it
for your own benefit!Copy !req
557. Look, Billy...Copy !req
558. Because you're a failure!Copy !req
559. Don't you dare talk to me like that!Copy !req
560. You don't even have
a proper dancing school!Copy !req
561. You're stuck in some crummy boxing hall.Copy !req
562. Don't pick on me 'cause
you fucked up your own life!Copy !req
563. Can I put a tape on, Miss?Copy !req
564. All right, if you must.Copy !req
565. It's cush, isn't it?Copy !req
566. So, is there a story, then, Miss?Copy !req
567. Of course.Copy !req
568. It's about a woman
who's captured by an evil magician.Copy !req
569. Sounds crap.Copy !req
570. And this woman, this beautiful woman,Copy !req
571. is forced to be a swan.Copy !req
572. Except for a few hours every nightCopy !req
573. when she becomes alive.Copy !req
574. When she becomes real again.Copy !req
575. And then one night,Copy !req
576. she meets this young prince,Copy !req
577. and he falls in love with her.Copy !req
578. And she realizes,Copy !req
579. this is the one thing that will allow her
to become a real woman once more.Copy !req
580. So then what happens?Copy !req
581. He promises to marry her and then
goes off with someone else, of course.Copy !req
582. So she has to be a swan for good?Copy !req
583. She dies.Copy !req
584. Because the prince didn't love her?Copy !req
585. Come on. It's time to go.Copy !req
586. It's only a ghost story.Copy !req
587. Come on!Copy !req
588. No! No. No.Copy !req
589. It's me.Copy !req
590. It's Billy.Copy !req
591. Little one.Copy !req
592. Oi! Little one.Copy !req
593. What have I told you
about drinking out of the bottle?Copy !req
594. Sorry, Mom.Copy !req
595. Well, put it back.Copy !req
596. One, lift and reach.Copy !req
597. Down, and one.Copy !req
598. Breathe and stretch.Copy !req
599. Stretch, and one.Copy !req
600. Lift and stretch.Copy !req
601. Back, and one.Copy !req
602. Lift, and lengthen that foot.Copy !req
603. And it's one.Copy !req
604. Extend.Copy !req
605. Reach out.Copy !req
606. Lift and breathe.Copy !req
607. And one.Copy !req
608. Lift out,Copy !req
609. and close.Copy !req
610. And one.Copy !req
611. Lift.Copy !req
612. When's the audition, then?Copy !req
613. Tomorrow morning.Copy !req
614. I'll miss you if you go away.Copy !req
615. Who do you think's better?
Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers?Copy !req
616. Billy, do you not fancy us, like?Copy !req
617. Don't know. Never really thought about it.Copy !req
618. If you want, I'll show you me fanny.Copy !req
619. No. You're all right.Copy !req
620. Get inside!Copy !req
621. The union leader! Get him!Copy !req
622. Get down!Copy !req
623. Thanks, pet.Copy !req
624. Wanker!Copy !req
625. Keep away from there, son.Copy !req
626. Shit.Copy !req
627. Tony!Copy !req
628. Tony, come back!Copy !req
629. Go on. Get in there! Off you go, mate!Copy !req
630. Miss, I've got a problem with the audition.Copy !req
631. Hello?Copy !req

641. - I was looking for...
- They're out.Copy !req
642. Sorry.Copy !req

- Please, Miss.Copy !req
644. Don't.Copy !req
645. What's going on, Billy?Copy !req
646. Who the fuck are you?Copy !req
647. I think we better go inside.Copy !req
648. I know this might be difficult for you,Copy !req
649. but today Billy missed
a very important audition.Copy !req
650. Audition?Copy !req
651. For the Royal Ballet School.Copy !req
652. The Royal Ballet?Copy !req
653. School. It's where they teach the ballet.Copy !req
654. You've got to be joking, love.Copy !req
655. No, I'm perfectly serious.Copy !req
656. Have you any idea of
what we're going through?Copy !req
657. I've been in a fucking cell all night,Copy !req
658. and you come around here talking shite!Copy !req
659. And, you! Fucking ballet!Copy !req
660. What are you trying to do, make him
a fucking scab for the rest of his life?Copy !req
661. Look at him! He's only 11, for fuck's sake!Copy !req
662. You've gotta start training
from when you're young.Copy !req
663. Shut it!Copy !req
664. I'm not having any brother of mine running
around like a right twat for your gratification.Copy !req
665. Excuse me. This is not for my gratification.Copy !req
666. And what good's it gonna do him?
You're not taking him away.Copy !req
667. He's only a bairn!
What about giving him a childhood?Copy !req
668. I don't want a childhood.
I want to be a ballet dancer.Copy !req
669. And anyway, what do you know about it?Copy !req
670. What qualifications have you got?Copy !req
671. I haven't come here to defend meself.Copy !req
672. Well, for all we know,
you could be some fucking nutter.Copy !req
673. I should get the fucking Social on to you.Copy !req
674. I think you should calm yourself down, son.Copy !req
675. You say he can dance. Well, go on, then.Copy !req
676. - Let's see this fucking dancing.
No.Copy !req
677. This is ridiculous.Copy !req
678. If you're a fucking ballet dancer,
then let's be having you.Copy !req
679. Don't you dare!Copy !req
680. What sort of a teacher are you?Copy !req
681. He's got the chance to dance.
Now, you're fucking telling him not to.Copy !req
682. Dance, you little twat!Copy !req
683. No? So piss off.Copy !req
684. He's not doing any more fucking ballet,Copy !req
685. and if you go anywhere near him again,
I'll smack you one, you middle-class cow!Copy !req
686. You know nothing about me,
you sanctimonious little shit!Copy !req
687. He won't grow up to race whippets,
or grow leeks, or piss his wages up the wall!Copy !req
688. He's been with me...Copy !req
689. Ahhh!Copy !req
690. Billy! Billy!Copy !req
691. Billy! Billy, come on!Copy !req

708. You know, join a dancing troupe.Copy !req
709. Don't be so stupid.Copy !req
710. Well, maybe it's all for the best.Copy !req
711. What do you mean?Copy !req
712. You won't have to go away or nothing.Copy !req
713. My hands are freezing.Copy !req
714. Give us them here.Copy !req
715. What are you doing?Copy !req
716. Nothing. Just warming your hands up.Copy !req
717. You're not a poof or aught?Copy !req
718. What gave you that impression?Copy !req
719. Aren't me hands cold?Copy !req
720. I quite like it.Copy !req
721. Just 'cause I like balletCopy !req
722. doesn't mean I'm a poof, you know?Copy !req

734. What's a plié?Copy !req
735. It's French.Copy !req
736. Why's it French?Copy !req
737. I don't know. Second. Like a princess.Copy !req
738. Second, and down.Copy !req
739. And first. Carry on. Fifth.Copy !req
740. Shoulders down, long neck.Copy !req

757. And a happy Christmas to you, too.Copy !req
758. Not as much as you might think.
Maybe two grand.Copy !req
759. - But there's a good chance the council's...
- Two grand?Copy !req
760. I was talking about the auditions.Copy !req
761. Look, it's just a matter of the trip to London.Copy !req
762. I'll give you the money for the fare.Copy !req
763. I didn't come here to be patronized.Copy !req
764. Oh, no one's trying to patronize you.
You're being ridiculous.Copy !req
765. - Am I?
- Yes!Copy !req
766. Thanks for everything you've done for Billy.Copy !req
767. But he is my son, isn't he?Copy !req

795. Dad, you can't go back! Not now!Copy !req
796. Look at the state of us, man.
What we got to offer the poor sod?Copy !req
797. You can't do this! Not now!Copy !req
798. Not after all this time!
Not after everything we've been through!Copy !req
799. It's for wee Billy!
He may be a fucking genius for all we know!Copy !req
800. For fuck's sake, Dad! You can't do this, man!Copy !req
801. Dad! Dad!Copy !req

810. Let's give the boy a fucking chance!Copy !req
811. Please. Please, don't do this to me.
Dad, we'll find him some money.Copy !req
812. We'll find it for him.Copy !req

819. Mom would've let you.Copy !req
820. All them 50 pences.Copy !req
821. Here. It was a toss-up between
a new punch bag or you.Copy !req
822. It's not even enough

823. Forget about it. You're dreaming.
Look at youse.Copy !req
824. Fucking scrabbling round for 50 pences.Copy !req

828. Thanks, George.Copy !req
829. Sheila's not got that kind of money.
She can't even keep the soup kitchen open.Copy !req
830. George said we can
have another whip-round.Copy !req
831. Billy, there's no money left.
Get that through your head, man!Copy !req
832. The lads will always
dip into their buckets if we ask them.Copy !req
833. George, you know there's nothing left.
Stop putting ideas in his head, man!Copy !req
834. Come on, lads. Dig deep for the miners.Copy !req
835. Is that absolutely necessary?
Walk normal, will you?Copy !req

837. What's what like?Copy !req
838. London.Copy !req
839. I don't know, son.
I never made it past Durham.Copy !req

841. Why would I want to go to London?Copy !req
842. It's the capital city.Copy !req
843. Well, there's no mines in London.Copy !req
844. Christ. Is that all you think about?Copy !req
845. Can I help you?Copy !req

879. Left arm on the bar. Feet first.Copy !req
880. Arms second.Copy !req
881. Demi-plié, and hold.Copy !req
882. Now, Billy,
we'd like to see you move to some music.Copy !req
883. Do you have a piece prepared?Copy !req
884. Thank you.Copy !req

892. What on earth is going on here?Copy !req
893. How did it go?Copy !req
894. Shit!Copy !req
895. Mr Elliot, I'm afraid
that mutual respect and self-disciplineCopy !req
896. are absolute prerequisites
for any pupil in this school.Copy !req
897. Such displays of violence cannot be
tolerated under any circumstances.Copy !req
898. Do you understand?Copy !req
899. I realize we shall have to
consider this very seriously,Copy !req
900. and it will be bound to
affect our final decision.Copy !req
901. Yes, well, just a few questions, then. Billy,Copy !req
902. can you tell us why you first became
interested in the ballet?Copy !req

your personal circumstances.Copy !req
911. Mr Elliot, are you a fan of the ballet?Copy !req
912. I wouldn't exactly say I was an expert.Copy !req
913. You do realize that all pupils
must attain the highest standards,Copy !req
914. not just in ballet,
but in their ordinary academic work.Copy !req
915. No child can succeed
without the 100% support of the family.Copy !req
916. You are completely behind Billy.Copy !req
917. Are you not?Copy !req
918. Yes. Yes, of course.Copy !req

927. Sort of feels good.Copy !req
928. It's sort of stiff and that,
but once I get going,Copy !req
929. then I forget everything.Copy !req
930. And,Copy !req
931. sort of disappear.Copy !req
932. Sort of disappear.Copy !req
933. Like I feel a change in me whole body.Copy !req

947. What happened to the dinosaurs, Miss?Copy !req
948. They were crushed as well,Copy !req
949. and the pressure of all of this caused
the plants and trees to change into coal.Copy !req
950. - Ow!
- That's what must have happened to her.Copy !req
951. Michael Caffrey,
