27. that you would say sticks with you today?

29. one of the toughest challenges of my life.

30. When I got to the University of Miami,

31. it was in 1990, and I was a freshman.

32. And I was joining the reigning defending national champions.

33. Let me tell you something, brother.

34. We were the baddest pack of dogs

35. walking God's green Earth.

36. Plan was to become a starter, kick ass on Saturdays,

37. get drafted by the NFL,

38. and buy my parents their first-ever home.

39. Speaking of, when I left for Miami,

40. my parents shut down their cleaning business

41. in Pennsylvania and moved to Tampa to be close by.

42. - Dewey trying to look so tough.

43. - He only smiles for his mama's cooking.

45. Now, unfortunately,

46. my grandmother Lia became homeless

47. and was in Samoa at the time.

48. She was deported, lost everything,

49. and she was very sad.

50. We eventually got her back into the country

51. and back on her feet,

52. but that's a story for another time.

53. My dad got a job driving a liquor truck.

54. And he loved telling everyone who his son played for.
