Duck is boasting about being Great Western and how useful he is, much to the annoyance of the others. Later, the Fat Controller introduces Diesel, a shunter who is "on trial". He asks Duck to show Diesel around, but Diesel says he doesn't need Duck. Duck leaves him to it and Diesel has an accident with some trucks. He thinks it's Duck's fault...

14. The silly engines were flattered. "He has good manners,” they murmured.

16. Duck had his doubts. "Come on!" he said. Diesel purred after him.

17. “Your Fat..." "Sir Topham Hatt to you!" said Duck.

19. “but we diesels know everything.

20. “We come to a yard and improve it - we are revolutionary.”

21. “Well, you can collect my trucks while I fetch Gordon's coaches."

22. Diesel, delighted to show off, purred away.

23. Duck found Diesel trying to take some very old, empty trucks from a siding.

24. Diesel found them hard to move. “Pull! Push! Backwards! Forwards!

25. “Ohhhh!" the trucks groaned. "We can't! We won't!"

26. Duck watched. Diesel lost patience. "Grrrr! Grirrr!"

27. He gave a great heave. "Ohhh!" they screamed. "We can't! We won't!"

28. Some of their brakes snapped.

29. “Greer! Greer!"

30. “Ha, ha, ho!" chuckled Duck.

31. Diesel tried to push the trucks back.

32. Duck collected the other trucks. “I must go now.”

33. “Don't you want this lot?" “No, thank you."

34. “Why didn't you tell me?"

35. “You never asked me,” said Duck.

36. “You were being whatever it was you said. Goodbye.”

37. “Greer! Grerrrt"

38. Diesel had to help the workmen clear the mess.

39. He hated it. The trucks were singing at him.
