After arresting the murderer of Amber-Lynn LaPierre and discovering a mass grave site containing the bodies of dozens of missing children, a man comes to Mulder and claims to have had visions of other victims who aren't buried at the site. Despite Scully's objections, he takes Mulder on a journey which reveals what truly happened to his sister.

53. That was a train wreck, a horrible tragedy.

54. They called me in to locate the bodies of seven unrecovered children.

55. - And did you recover them? - I didn't recover them.

56. - But I explained what happened. - What happened?

57. The children's bodies were transported from the accident site

58. by a spiritual intervention - what are known as walk-ins.

61. at mud slides in Peru, earthquakes in Uzbekistan...

62. Kids' bodies never found, never accounted for in any other way.

91. In almost every case, the parents had a precognitive image of their child dead.

93. I believe what this is is the work of good spirits...

96. Which is why the spirits intervene, transforming matter into pure energy.

208. This is the document that effectively calls off the search for your sister, Mulder.

209. And it's signed with the initials "CGBS".

210. CGB Spender, the Smoking Man.

211. He was involved with this back in '73.

212. That's not exactly a revelation. He was a friend of my father's.

213. You told me you believe that he's the man that killed your father.

214. That he's the man who's confounded your work, come close to killing you.

215. Here, he's ordering people to stop looking for your sister.

216. I don't see what you think this proves, or how it will help me find her.

363. "Evidence of probable self-inflicted abuse,

364. including small crescent-shaped scars on her knees, wrists and chest."

365. Those are from the tests, Scully.

366. That's her. She was here, 14 years old, in this hospital.

367. "Diagnosis of condition incomplete. Tests unavailable."

368. And he knew.

369. He lied. He knew she was alive.

370. And the only reason he's lying now is because she's still alive.

371. Wait.

372. Oh, I know - you don't want me to get my hopes up.

373. That was 1979. It was 21 years ago. I don't even know where to begin.

374. And we don't even have a record here of a doctor signing her out.

375. We have an ER nurse who signed her in.
