1. Sorry about that.
Come on in.Copy !req
2. I, uh... I rode up on
the elevator with someone.Copy !req
3. - Someone from next door, I think.
- Young guy?Copy !req
4. - Yeah.
- New neighbor. Why?Copy !req
5. You met him?Copy !req
6. Uh, briefly, yeah.
He's a writer.Copy !req
7. - What does he write?
- He didn't say.Copy !req
8. These are, uh... These are my autopsy
reports from the second victim.Copy !req
9. As you can see,Copy !req
10. the heart was removed in the same manner
as the previous victim.Copy !req
11. No incisions, no scope marks,
no cutting of any kind.Copy !req
12. No indication
of how the killer did it?Copy !req
13. No. There's no prints,Copy !req
14. no D.N.A. material,
no hair and fiber.Copy !req
15. And yet you still refuse to believe my
theory... that what this is is psychic surgery?Copy !req
16. Psychic surgery is some man dipping his
hand in a bucket of chicken guts...Copy !req
17. and pretending to remove tumors from
the sick and gullible.Copy !req
18. Or... it's a grossly misunderstood area
of alternative medicine.Copy !req
19. Well, medicine, as you're referring to
it, is about keeping people alive.Copy !req
20. Absent another theory, how else do we account for
the impossible extraction of this man's heart?Copy !req
21. I don't know. I have no idea.Copy !req
22. I mean, we have no evidence, no M.O. to
speak of. This could be the perfect crime.Copy !req
23. Well, crime is only as perfect
as the man or the mind that commits it.Copy !req
24. Even if it were perfect, even if he made
not one mistake, there's still his motive.Copy !req
25. You find his motive
and you find the murderer.Copy !req
26. That's why I didn't
wanna come here, Kevin.Copy !req
27. - I'm not even doing anything.
- Well, you're thinking about it.Copy !req
28. There's a console between us.
How much can I do?Copy !req
29. - You make it sound like I'm an attacker.
- Well, we talked about this.Copy !req
30. I told you I loved you.Copy !req
31. Oh, Kevin.Copy !req
32. - There you go again.
- What?Copy !req
33. That thing that you do.
You know what.Copy !req
34. - That's the way I kiss, Maggie.
- Well, I get the message.Copy !req
35. - Where you going?
- I can't talk to you.Copy !req
36. Maggie!Copy !req
37. Maggie?Copy !req
38. Maggie!Copy !req
39. Maggie!Copy !req
40. Maggie, come on!Copy !req
41. No!Copy !req
42. No! No!Copy !req
43. No!Copy !req
44. - Scully.
- Glad I caught you. We got a third victim.Copy !req
45. A 16-year-old kid
out on Lover's Lane.Copy !req
46. - Are you sure?
- Yeah.Copy !req
47. I'm sure many a person's had their heart
broken out here, but not quite like this.Copy !req
48. I was hoping you'd be here to explain
it in medical terms to the local P.D.Copy !req
49. I'm not sure that I could.
Did anybody see anybody?Copy !req
50. No, nothing. It's like there's nowhere
to start on this case. Nothing to ask.Copy !req
51. - Nothing to say.
- Well, there's got to be something, Mulder.Copy !req
52. Something about his victims...
why he chooses them, a pattern.Copy !req
53. So far there's absolutely nothing. It appears
to be just a series of random attacks.Copy !req
54. An envelope's been slipped
under your door.Copy !req
55. - Yeah? From who?
- It's unmarked.Copy !req
56. It's some kind of a pendant.Copy !req
57. Like a charm.Copy !req
58. Her prompt mind ran through
the Golconda of possibilities.Copy !req
59. Was this trinket
from the killer?Copy !req
60. Was there a message contained
in its equivocal symbolism?Copy !req
61. Was he a religious fanatic who had,
in fervid haste...Copy !req
62. licked the envelope, leaving the telltale
D.N.A. that would begin his unraveling?Copy !req
63. She had a condign certainty
the killer was a male,Copy !req
64. and now as she held the cold metal
at her fingertips...Copy !req
65. she imagined him doing the same,
trying to picture his face.Copy !req
66. It would be
a plain face, an average face...Copy !req
67. a face people would be
prone to trust.Copy !req
68. She knew this inherently,
being naturally trusting herself.Copy !req
69. But the image she conjured up was no better
than the useless sketch composites...Copy !req
70. that littered her files.Copy !req
71. Preconsciously, she knew this wasn't
her strength as an investigator.Copy !req
72. She was a marshal
of cold facts,Copy !req
73. quick to organize,
connect, shuffle,Copy !req
74. reorder and synthesize their relative
hard values into discreet categories.Copy !req
75. Imprecision would only invite
sexist criticism...Copy !req
76. that she was soft, malleable,Copy !req
77. not up to her
male counterparts.Copy !req
78. Even now, as she pushed an errant strand
of titian hair behind her ear,Copy !req
79. she worried her partner would know
instinctively what she could only guess.Copy !req
80. To be thought of as simply
a beautiful woman was bridling...Copy !req
81. unthinkable.Copy !req
82. But she was beautiful,Copy !req
83. fatally,
stunningly prepossessing.Copy !req
84. Yet the compensatory respect
she commanded...Copy !req
85. only deepened the yearnings
of her heart...Copy !req
86. to let it open...Copy !req
87. to let someone in.Copy !req
88. It's called a milagro.Copy !req
89. That's the Spanish word
for "miracle. \x22Copy !req
90. - It's worn as a lucky charm.
- It came here for me?Copy !req
91. It was dropped off at a reception
by a man in his late 20s, early 30s,Copy !req
92. average looking,
average build.Copy !req
93. They weren't able to get a good I.D.
There are no fingerprints...Copy !req
94. and no D.N.A.
from his saliva.Copy !req
95. I don't think
it's the killer, Scully.Copy !req
96. - Did you see that it's a burning heart?
- I see it has a burning heart.Copy !req
97. We're dealing with a killer
that leaves no clues.Copy !req
98. Why would he do something
as heavy-handed as this?Copy !req
99. Maybe it has something to do with his
next victim... maybe he's taunting you.Copy !req
100. Maybe it's not me at all.
Maybe he sent it to you.Copy !req
101. Maybe it's a secret admirer.Copy !req
102. - I think I'll check it out.
- Actually, let me.Copy !req
103. You've got a 9:00 a.m.
with the D.C. medical examiner.Copy !req
104. He's gonna let you autopsy
the latest victim.Copy !req
105. Thank you for making my schedule, but I
think I'm gonna have to be late for that.Copy !req
106. I often come here to look
at this painting.Copy !req
107. It's called \x22My Divine Heart\x22
after the miracle of St. Margaret Mary.Copy !req
108. Do you know the story...Copy !req
109. the revelation
of the sacred heart?Copy !req
110. Christ came to Margaret Mary... his heart so
inflamed with love that it was no longer able...Copy !req
111. to contain its burning flames
of charity.Copy !req
112. Margaret Mary,Copy !req
113. so filled with
divine love herself,Copy !req
114. asked the Lord
to take her heart.Copy !req
115. And so he did,
placing it alongside his...Copy !req
116. until it burned with the flames
of his passion.Copy !req
117. Then he restored it
to Margaret Mary...Copy !req
118. sealing her wound with the touch
of his blessed hand.Copy !req
119. Why are you
telling me this?Copy !req
120. You came here specifically
to see this painting, didn't you?Copy !req
121. Yes. How did you know that?Copy !req
122. I saw you enter.
The way you knew right where it was.Copy !req
123. I know you.Copy !req
124. You live next to somebody
I work with.Copy !req
125. Why are you following me?Copy !req
126. I'm not. I'd only imagined
that you'd come here today.Copy !req
127. - Oh, you imagined it.
- Yes.Copy !req
128. Yeah.Copy !req
129. I'm a writer.
That's what I do...Copy !req
130. imagine how people behave.Copy !req
131. I have to admit
I've noticed you.Copy !req
132. I do that... notice people.Copy !req
133. I saw that you wear a gold cross around your neck
so I was taking a chance with the painting...Copy !req
134. explaining something
you may have already known.Copy !req
135. I saw Georgetown parking permits
on your car dating from 1993...Copy !req
136. and a government exempt sticker
that lets you park anywhere you like.Copy !req
137. You don't live in this area, but as a federal
employee you have reason to frequent it.Copy !req
138. You're fit
with muscular calves,Copy !req
139. so you must exercise or run.Copy !req
140. There's a popular running route right nearby
that you might use at lunch or after work.Copy !req
141. You'd have noticed
this church in passing,Copy !req
142. and though parking is always
a problem in this part of town,Copy !req
143. your special privileges
would make it easy to visit,Copy !req
144. not as a place of worship,Copy !req
145. but because you have an appreciation
for architecture and the arts.Copy !req
146. And while the grandeur is what
you take away from your visit,Copy !req
147. this painting's religious symbolism would
have left a subconscious impression...Copy !req
148. jogged by the gift you received
this morning.Copy !req
149. That was from you?Copy !req
150. I have to admit
to a secret attraction.Copy !req
151. I'm sorry I didn't include a note explaining
that, but you didn't know me then.Copy !req
152. And I don't know you now,
and I don't care to.Copy !req
153. I see this is making you
uncomfortable,Copy !req
154. and I'm sorry.Copy !req
155. It's just that
I'm taken with you.Copy !req
156. That never happens to me.Copy !req
157. We're alike that way.Copy !req
158. You weren't joking about being late. I was
about to start slicing and dicing myself.Copy !req
159. - I'm sorry.
- Where were you?Copy !req
160. I was doing some research,
and learning that I owe you an apology.Copy !req
161. - For what?
- The milagro charm.Copy !req
162. You were right about
its insignificance.Copy !req
163. I think I was wrong.
I think it's very significant.Copy !req
164. It may be a communication
from the killer.Copy !req
165. Most of my research shows that most credible
practitioners with psychic surgery...Copy !req
166. believe themselves to be imbued
with the Holy Spirit...Copy !req
167. that their hands become
the miracle tools of God.Copy !req
168. Mulder, this is nothing more
than a tool...Copy !req
169. used by a lovelorn Romeo who just
happens to be your next-door neighbor.Copy !req
170. - Who, the writer?
- Yes.Copy !req
171. My secret admirer...Copy !req
172. who claims to know
the mysteries of my heart.Copy !req
173. - You're kidding.
- I wish I were.Copy !req
174. He cornered me today and told me my life
story. It was kind of frightening, actually.Copy !req
175. Is he our killer?Copy !req
176. No.Copy !req
177. \x22Frightening\x22 as in too much information
and intimate detail.Copy !req
178. What kills you is his audacity.Copy !req
179. Did you get his name?Copy !req
180. No, but that shouldn't be
too hard to find out, should it?Copy !req
181. I'm sorry.
I forgot your name.Copy !req
182. - Padgett.
- Padgett.Copy !req
183. - Phillip Padgett.
- You're a writer.Copy !req
184. - Anything I'd know?
- I don't think so.Copy !req
185. You're an F.B.I. agent.Copy !req
186. Working on anything interesting?Copy !req
187. A murder case.Copy !req
188. Anything I'd know?Copy !req
189. Possibly.Copy !req
190. The overture in the church had urged
the beautiful agent's partner...Copy !req
191. into an act of Hegelian
self-justification.Copy !req
192. Expeditiously violating
the Fourth Amendment against mail theft,Copy !req
193. he prepared to impudently
infract the First.Copy !req
194. But if she'd predictably aroused
her sly partner's suspicions,Copy !req
195. Special Agent Dana Scully
had herself...Copy !req
196. become simply aroused.Copy !req
197. All morning the stranger's
unsolicited compliments...Copy !req
198. had played on the dampened strings
of her instrument...Copy !req
199. until the middle "C\x22of consciousness
was struck square and resonant.Copy !req
200. She was flattered.Copy !req
201. His words had presented her
a pretty picture of herself,Copy !req
202. quite unlike the practiced mask
of uprightness...Copy !req
203. that mirrored back to her from the medical
examiners and the investigators...Copy !req
204. and all the lawmen who dared
no such utterances.Copy !req
205. She felt an involuntary flush...Copy !req
206. and rebuked herself
for the girlish indulgence.Copy !req
207. But the images came perforce
and she let them play...Copy !req
208. let them flood in like savory...Copy !req
209. or more a sugary confection
from her adolescence...Copy !req
210. when her senses were new and ungoverned
by fear and self-denial.Copy !req
211. Ache. Pang.Copy !req
212. Prick. Twinge.Copy !req
213. How ironic the Victorian vocabulary
of behavioral pathology...Copy !req
214. now so perfectly described
the palpations of her own desire.Copy !req
215. The stranger had looked her
in the eye...Copy !req
216. and knew her more completely
than she knew herself.Copy !req
217. She felt wild, feral,Copy !req
218. guilty as a criminal.Copy !req
219. Had the stranger unleashed in her
what was already there,Copy !req
220. or only helped her discover a landscape
she by necessity blinded herself to?Copy !req
221. What would her partner
think of her?Copy !req
222. Mr. Popularity.Copy !req
223. Hi. I, um...Copy !req
224. I was going next door and
I thought that I'd return this.Copy !req
225. Why?Copy !req
226. Because I can't
return the gesture.Copy !req
227. I can't.Copy !req
228. You're curious about me.Copy !req
229. You don't have any furniture.Copy !req
230. I have what I need.Copy !req
231. I write at my desk.
I sleep in my bed.Copy !req
232. - You don't eat?
- I live in my head.Copy !req
233. - Writing your books?
- Yes.Copy !req
234. Anything I'd know?Copy !req
235. No.
They're all failures,Copy !req
236. except the one
I'm working on now.Copy !req
237. - I think I'm getting it right.
- Why now all of a sudden?Copy !req
238. Best not to question it.Copy !req
239. See?Copy !req
240. You are curious about me.Copy !req
241. - Well, you lead a curious life.
- It's not so different from yours, I imagine.Copy !req
242. Lonely.Copy !req
243. Loneliness is a choice.Copy !req
244. So, how about
a cup of coffee?Copy !req
245. - My life's not so lonely, Mister, uh...
- Padgett.Copy !req
246. It's actually anything but.Copy !req
247. - How is it you think you know me so well, Mr. Padgett?
- I'm writing about you.Copy !req
248. Right.Copy !req
249. - Since when?
- Since I first noticed you.Copy !req
250. You live
in my old neighborhood.Copy !req
251. And you moved into
this building by coincidence?Copy !req
252. No.Copy !req
253. You moved here because of me?Copy !req
254. There wasn't anything available
in your building,Copy !req
255. and it's not like you spent
a lot of time at home.Copy !req
256. I should have said something, but I just
couldn't get it all down fast enough.Copy !req
257. To really write someone,
I have to be in their head.Copy !req
258. I have to know them more completely
than they know themselves.Copy !req
259. - This is all about me?
- You're an important part.Copy !req
260. - May I read it?
- It's not finished.Copy !req
261. I can't tell you how helpful it is having you
here... being able to talk with you like this.Copy !req
262. Would you sit
and stay a minute?Copy !req
263. You don't have anywhere to sit.Copy !req
264. - I'm due next door.
- You haven't finished your coffee.Copy !req
265. I'm very uncomfortable with this.Copy !req
266. Why?
You're armed,Copy !req
267. aren't you?Copy !req
268. Imagine that.Copy !req
269. I'll get a bulb.Copy !req
270. A view only a writer
can appreciate.Copy !req
271. If you know me so well, then why
am I standing here when my instincts...Copy !req
272. tell me to go?Copy !req
273. Motive is never easy.Copy !req
274. Sometimes it occurs to one
only later.Copy !req
275. Please.Copy !req
276. Sit.Copy !req
277. Imagine that.Copy !req
278. Mulder!Copy !req
279. - Scully.
- What are you doing?Copy !req
280. You all right?Copy !req
281. Yes.Copy !req
282. Mulder?Copy !req
283. What are you doing?Copy !req
284. Putting this man
under arrest.Copy !req
285. Yes, I've seen this paper.Copy !req
286. Yeah. That's how you found
your victims... in the personals.Copy !req
287. - They all took out personal ads.
- They were lovers.Copy !req
288. - And you targeted them.
- I only write about them.Copy !req
289. - No, you targeted...
- Mulder.Copy !req
290. - Not without his lawyer.
- I don't need a lawyer. I'm telling the truth.Copy !req
291. And this is your confession?Copy !req
292. No, that's my novel.Copy !req
293. It's all in there... every detail,
every murder, all laid out.Copy !req
294. How'd you do it, Mr. Padgett?Copy !req
295. - If I sit long enough, it just comes to me.
- The murders.Copy !req
296. I only knew what was in my mind
and wished to express it clearly.Copy !req
297. How about the \x22stranger\x22?
Is that you?Copy !req
298. - How about Ken Naciamento?
- The self-proclaimed Brazilian psychic surgeon?Copy !req
299. - Is that your accomplice?
- I guess you could say that.Copy !req
300. - He's a central character.
- Did you direct him to do it?Copy !req
301. Jungians say it's the characters who choose
the writer, not the other way around.Copy !req
302. So I guess you could argue
he directed me.Copy !req
303. Which is the truth?Copy !req
304. By their nature, words are imprecise
and layered with meaning.Copy !req
305. The signs of things,
not the things themselves.Copy !req
306. It's difficult to say
who's in charge.Copy !req
307. - Mulder.
- Okay.Copy !req
308. Why, Mr. Padgett?Copy !req
309. Maybe that's a question
you can answer.Copy !req
310. That's the one question
I can't.Copy !req
311. Agent Mulder, my book...Copy !req
312. did you like it?Copy !req
313. Maybe if it were fiction.Copy !req
314. - Mulder, where are you going?
- To find his accomplice, the Brazilian psychic surgeon.Copy !req
315. I did that.
That's what I've been doing.Copy !req
316. Dr. Ken Naciamento, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Emigrated here in 1996.Copy !req
317. - Where is he now?
- He's dead.Copy !req
318. - Can't be.
- Two years dead. I'm having them fax a certificate of death.Copy !req
319. - Padgett couldn't have done this alone.
- Maybe he didn't do it at all.Copy !req
320. Scully, it's all on the page.
How else would he know it?Copy !req
321. Maybe he imagined it,
like he said.Copy !req
322. Like Shakespeare
or Freud orJung.Copy !req
323. I mean, maybe...
maybe he has some gift...Copy !req
324. and he has a clear window
into human nature.Copy !req
325. No one can tell you what another person's
gonna do. No one can predict human behavior.Copy !req
326. Isn't that what you do, Mulder,
as a behavioral profiler?Copy !req
327. You imagine the killer's mind so well
you know what they're gonna do next.Copy !req
328. If he imagines it,
it's a priori, before the fact.Copy !req
329. I think that's pretty clear
from what he wrote about you.Copy !req
330. You know you're in here,
don't you?Copy !req
331. Yeah.
I read a chapter.Copy !req
332. What does he say?Copy !req
333. Well, let's just say it ends with you doing
the naked pretzel with the \x22stranger\x22...Copy !req
334. on a bed in an unfurnished
fourth floor apartment.Copy !req
335. I'm assuming
that's a priori too?Copy !req
336. I think you know me
better than that, Mulder.Copy !req
337. Well...Copy !req
338. Well, you might wanna
finish it.Copy !req
339. Prisoner's written something
I think you should see.Copy !req
340. What is it?Copy !req
341. He says it's a statement,
but I think he's putting somebody on.Copy !req
342. "Grief squeezed at her eggshell heart...Copy !req
343. "like it might break into
a thousand pieces.Copy !req
344. "Its contents running
like broken promises...Copy !req
345. "into the hollow places
his love used to fill.Copy !req
346. "How could she know this pain
would end?Copy !req
347. "That love,
unlike matter or energy,Copy !req
348. "was an endless supply
in the universe...Copy !req
349. "a germ which grows from nothingness
which cannot be eradicated,Copy !req
350. "even from the darkest of hearts.Copy !req
351. "If she had known this, and who could
say she would believe it,Copy !req
352. "she would not have chanced to remain
at his sad grave until such an hour...Copy !req
353. "so that she might not have to learn
the second truth before the first:Copy !req
354. - "That to have love...Copy !req
355. "was to carry a vessel that
could be lost or stolen or worse...Copy !req
356. "spilled blood-red on the ground.Copy !req
357. "And that love was not immutable.Copy !req
358. "It could become hate
as day becomes night...Copy !req
359. as life becomes death. \x22Copy !req
360. She's a no-show at home
or anywhere else she might go.Copy !req
361. No signs of a possible struggle
at the grave site,Copy !req
362. but the area's been so trammeled by the funeral
that collecting evidence is gonna be impossible.Copy !req
363. I think this is
a big jerk off.Copy !req
364. Maybe his statement's to prove he's telling
the truth... that he truly just imagined it.Copy !req
365. The only thing that he imagined
was us out here...Copy !req
366. looking like idiots.Copy !req
367. Hands where I can see 'em!
Don't move until I tell you!Copy !req
368. - I'm a federal agent.
- Mulder, that's not him.Copy !req
369. - What'd I do?
- Mulder!Copy !req
370. - Check the truck, Scully.
- Mulder, he works here.Copy !req
371. How did you know, Mulder,
that the body was in the truck?Copy !req
372. I imagined it.Copy !req
373. It's still no evidence that Padgett
directed the killer.Copy !req
374. What do you need, a signed work order?
Of course he directed him.Copy !req
375. Mulder, you are making
critical assumptions without any facts.Copy !req
376. What about time of death?
What about... What are you doing?Copy !req
377. You're about to argue
my usual side, aren't you?Copy !req
378. Why couldn't he have imagined it? Why
couldn't he be in the killer's head?Copy !req
379. You read what he wrote about you. Are you
trying to tell me he got inside your head?Copy !req
380. - That what I read is true?
- Mulder, of course not.Copy !req
381. I don't know how they communicate. This
is the only way I can think to catch him.Copy !req
382. Mr. Padgett?Copy !req
383. You can go.Copy !req
384. We apologize for our mistake.
You're free to finish your book.Copy !req
385. Thank you.Copy !req
386. I made a mistake myself.Copy !req
387. What's that, Mr. Padgett?Copy !req
388. In my book, I'd written
that Agent Scully falls in love,Copy !req
389. but that's obviously impossible.Copy !req
390. Agent Scully is already in love.Copy !req
391. What are you doing here?Copy !req
392. You seem surprised to see me.Copy !req
393. Yes, completely.Copy !req
394. Why?
I'm your character.Copy !req
395. What do you want?Copy !req
396. I'm here to help you finish.Copy !req
397. I can't figure out
your motive.Copy !req
398. You imagine me so perfectly
in every way...Copy !req
399. so perfectly that
you bring me to life.Copy !req
400. Why did you choose me?Copy !req
401. I needed a perfect crime.Copy !req
402. And she's a doctor.
She'd be horrified by what you do.Copy !req
403. I'm horrified.Copy !req
404. I just want to know
why I do it.Copy !req
405. So I could meet her.Copy !req
406. That's not a reason.Copy !req
407. It's an excuse.Copy !req
408. - Anything?
- No, he's just sitting there.Copy !req
409. Staring.Copy !req
410. Now what is this?Copy !req
411. A big mistake. I misjudged
her character, her interest in me.Copy !req
412. Now we're on to something.Copy !req
413. She's only trying to get his attention,
but doesn't know it.Copy !req
414. Mm-hmm.
The old unconscious at work.Copy !req
415. I wanted to love her.Copy !req
416. No wonder you can't
finish this book, Padgett.Copy !req
417. - Why do I want their hearts?
- You tell me. Why do you do it?Copy !req
418. I'm your character.
You tell me.Copy !req
419. - My reason is your reason.
- I want to feel love.Copy !req
420. Mmm... No. No.Copy !req
421. You had it right up to there.Copy !req
422. You were a tool of the truth.Copy !req
423. And when it finally arrives...
when I arrive, you don't want to see it.Copy !req
424. But what is the truth?Copy !req
425. Man imagines that he too...Copy !req
426. can open up his heart
and expose the burning passion...Copy !req
427. the flames of charity.Copy !req
428. Like the creator himself,Copy !req
429. but... this is not
in his power.Copy !req
430. But I have love in my heart.Copy !req
431. Yes, as a thief has riches,
a usurer, money. You have it!Copy !req
432. But man's only power...
only true power...Copy !req
433. is to destroy it.Copy !req
434. Then what's the end of my story?Copy !req
435. There can only be
one true ending...Copy !req
436. if it is to be perfect.Copy !req
437. She dies?Copy !req
438. See?Copy !req
439. It almost writes itself.Copy !req
440. What's he up to now?Copy !req
441. He just started typing again.Copy !req
442. Now what?Copy !req
443. Anything?Copy !req
444. Padgett! Freeze.Copy !req
445. Step away from the incinerator.Copy !req
446. - What do you think you're doing?
- Destroying my book.Copy !req
447. Destroying evidence, you mean.Copy !req
448. - Let me see what you wrote.
- I'll tell you. He kills her.Copy !req
449. You came down here to give
these instructions to your accomplice?Copy !req
450. - No, he told me how it ends.
- When?Copy !req
451. - In my apartment.
- You were alone up there.Copy !req
452. A story can have only one true ending.Copy !req
453. Even as the stranger felt compelled
to commit his final words to paper,Copy !req
454. he did it knowing
they must never be read.Copy !req
455. To see the sum of his work
was to see inside his own emptiness...Copy !req
456. the heart of a destroyer,
not a creator.Copy !req
457. And yet reflected back upon him,
at last he could see his own ending.Copy !req
458. And in this final act
of destruction...Copy !req
459. a chance to give
what he could not receive.Copy !req
460. I made this!Copy !req
461. I made this!Copy !req
