93. Sir, would you mind telling me exactly

94. Sir, would you mind telling me exactly

95. what kind of diplomatic work you do, sir,

96. and what material you're transporting in these?

97. That is... those are filled with biohazardous materials.

98. Then where's the paperwork,

99. and why aren't the containers marked?

100. Don't open those... whatever you do.

101. That material cannot be exposed...

102. Listen to me.

103. Open this door!

104. Somebody open this door!

105. Somebody!

106. Somebody!

107. Somebody open this door!

108. Somebody let me out of here!

109. What the hell is this?

110. Somebody!

119. Somebody help...!

120. Somebody help...!

121. We can't go in too soon.

122. We got to be patient. It'll happen.

123. What makes you so sure?

124. I've received a series of receipts over the past few weeks

125. for detonation cord, for racing and diesel fuel

126. and for 80 bags of ammonium nitrate

127. purchased in cash in three different states

128. under three different signatures.

129. What makes you so sure that it's here, that it's tonight?

130. Last night, I received two new receipts—

131. one for first and last on the storage space at this address,

132. one for first and last on the storage space at this address,

133. and one to rent a two-ton truck yesterday.

134. Both purchased with the same signature.

135. We could be looking at the next Oklahoma City.

136. Well, so who do you think's leaking them,

137. and why would they leak them to you?

138. We've got traffic.

139. They're leaving.

140. Hold.

141. Go! Back it up!

142. All right, get down on the ground! Drop your weapons!

143. Everybody down!

144. Down on the ground!

145. Back it up! Back it up!

146. Drop your weapons

147. and get down on the ground!

148. Throw the smoke!

149. Gas!

150. (coughing) Steady!

151. Fire!

152. Get down! Everybody get down!

153. Get down! Everybody get down!

154. Mulder!

155. Cover the driver's side.

156. Federal agent. I'm armed.

157. Exit the vehicle now.

158. Driver's dead.

159. I counted two men.

160. Get out of the truck!

161. Get out of the truck!

162. Let me see your hands!

163. Hands in the air!

164. You son of a bitch.

165. Mulder!

166. Mulder!

167. I handed you this bust, Mulder!

168. Oh, come on, Krycek!

169. Who do you think sent you those receipts?

170. Most of the detonation cord

171. was stolen from a construction site,

172. and some of the explosives

173. were just taken from a military base.

174. I mean, security's just so lax, it's a joke!

175. Most everything else was over the counter.

176. 2,000 kilos of boom-boom.

177. How'd you get involved

178. with these men?

179. with these men?

180. They found me in North Dakota.

181. They liberated me on a salvage hunt.

182. Hey, you go underground,

183. you got to learn to live with the rats.

184. I'm sure you had no trouble adapting.

185. These men are pathetic revolutionaries

186. who would kill innocent Americans

187. in the name of bonehead ideologies.

188. You're full of crap, Krycek.

189. You're an invertebrate scum-sucker

190. whose moral dipstick's about two drops short of bone dry.

191. whose moral dipstick's about two drops short of bone dry.

192. Hey. I love this country.

193. What do you want, Krycek?

194. Same thing you do.

195. To find the man who tried to kill me.

196. The same man that's responsible for your father's death.

197. Your sister's.

198. You want this man brought to justice?

199. You...

200. you can't bring these men to justice.

201. you can't bring these men to justice.

202. They're protected.

203. The laws of this country

204. protect these men

205. under the name of national security.

206. They know no law.

207. Then why don't you put a bullet

208. in his head like you did that man out there?

209. These men, they fear one thing:

210. exposure.

211. You expose... him...

212. expose his crimes...

213. you destroy the destroyer's

214. ability to destroy.

215. ability to destroy.

216. The only thing that will destroy this man is the truth.

217. The truth, the truth...

218. (chuckles): There's... there's no truth.

219. These men, they just— they make it up as they go along.

220. They're the engineers of the future.

221. They...

222. they're the real revolutionaries.

223. I can get them for you, too.

224. We can't help you, Krycek.

225. Mulder.

226. This is just one bomb I'm sitting on here.

227. You didn't ask me how many more I know about.

228. WOMAN (over P.A.): Your attention, please.

229. Due to adverse weather conditions,

230. Transcon Flight 78 from Buenos Aires has been delayed.

231. Please check the on-screen monitors

232. located throughout the terminal for a new arrival time.

233. What flight is he on?

234. What flight is he on?

235. There's an international charter that originated in Russia.

236. Turkish airliner.

237. There it is— Air Lacayo.

238. Got in at 6:45.

239. That's 15 minutes ago.

240. Come on, let's go.

241. He still has to go through customs.

242. No. He'll be carrying a diplomatic pouch.

243. That's him.

244. Sir? Federal agent.

245. Don't be alarmed.

246. I just need to speak with you.

247. Stop! Stop right there!

248. Sir!

249. Mulder!

250. Mulder, look.

251. Is this some kind of joke?

252. What?

253. Show him.

254. What is it?

255. Expose it for him, Scully.

256. Expose it for him, Scully.

257. What did you get for Halloween, Charlie Brown?

258. Who is it?

259. I need to speak with you, sir.

260. What do you want, Agent Mulder?

261. I need your authorization to provide a safe house.

262. A safe house for whom?

263. This man has information about extreme right militia

264. that could save the lives of innocent Americans.

265. that could save the lives of innocent Americans.

266. He'll be safe here.

267. Relatively safe.

268. We're not even yet, boy.

269. That's a start.

270. Give me the keys.

271. Come on.

272. You can't!

273. You can't leave me out here!

274. I'm going to freeze to death!

275. Just think warm thoughts.

276. I know I asked you earlier,

277. I know I asked you earlier,

278. but you have absolutely no idea where this came from?

279. Not its origin, no.

280. But you have an idea, don't you?

281. This rock contains what are called

282. polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

283. fitting the approximate description of those

284. in fragments of meteorite found recently

285. in the ice fields of Antarctica.

286. Are you saying...?

287. That what you're looking at is quite possibly from Mars.

288. Over four billion years old.

289. Is it valuable?

290. Well, beyond adding evidence to the debate

291. over fossilized remains of alien bacteria,

292. it's relatively worthless.

293. Does this rock contain

294. those fossilized remains, Dr. Sacks?

295. Well, I won't know that

296. until I'm able to take a core sample,

297. which I very much hope you'll allow me to do.

298. I think we'd all like to know what's in that rock.

299. Thanks.

300. I didn't realize you lived

301. in this neighborhood, Mr. Skinner.

302. I just moved in.

303. I'd guess you live

304. in an upper floor for the view?

305. What do you want from me?

306. Agents Mulder and Scully intercepted a diplomatic pouch

307. Agents Mulder and Scully intercepted a diplomatic pouch

308. here in Washington last night.

309. I'm afraid it's created a problem

310. in foreign policy circles.

311. Quite a problem, actually.

312. I don't know anything about any diplomatic pouch.

313. No?

314. Nothing about the matter?

315. No, I don't.

316. Well, I find that hard to believe,

317. as their supervisory agent.

318. As a friend, I should advise you, Mr. Skinner,

319. that withholding information on matters of national security

320. that withholding information on matters of national security

321. is punishable under this country's laws

322. of treason and sedition.

323. Thank you.

324. I'll consider myself advised... as a friend.

325. I need that pouch, Mr. Skinner.

326. And I need to know who gave them

327. the order to intercept it.

328. I'll get back to you.

329. Wars have broken out over far less, Mr. Skinner.

330. Far, far less.

331. Uh-huh. Thank you.

332. Got something?

333. A big dead-end at the State Department,

334. A big dead-end at the State Department,

335. but U.S. Customs officials detained another courier

336. on a similar visa in Honolulu two nights ago.

337. He was coming from Russian Georgia

338. carrying some kind of toxic soil sample.

339. Toxic? Yes, which leads me

340. to believe that what's in this rock we intercepted

341. are answers beyond the existence of extraterrestrial life,

342. even beyond the conspiracy to cover up that existence.

343. Mulder, that rock contains fossils

344. of what is believed to be alien bacteria,

345. and even that is under intense debate.

346. Why all this effort to get it onto U.S. soil?

347. I think that what Alex Krycek has given us

348. is a pivotal piece to an even larger plot.

349. is a pivotal piece to an even larger plot.

350. What he's given us, Mulder, is a rock.

351. Alex Krycek is a liar and a murderer.

352. Who wants to expose the same men that we do,

353. and will go to any lengths to succeed.

354. What I'm worried about is you, Mulder.

355. How far you'll go, and how far I can follow you.

356. Yeah? Agent Mulder, where are you?

357. I'm with Scully; we're on our way out to NASA Goddard.

358. Well, I suggest you turn around and head home.

359. I don't know how I'm going to explain myself to the police.

360. Explain yourself about what?

361. The police are at my place with a dead body.

362. They want to talk to everyone in the building.

363. They want to talk to everyone in the building.

364. Pull over here.

365. What are you doing?

366. I'm going to take a cab.

367. I want you to find out about that rock.

368. Call me as soon as you do.

369. No, I wasn't home.

370. And you live on what floor?

371. 17th. Walter Skinner.

372. I'm an assistant director with the FBI.

373. I'm an assistant director with the FBI.

374. Oh. Oh, my apologies.

375. I got some bad information from my lieutenant

376. that there's a man hanging from your balcony.

377. We're going to walk out of here

378. like nothing happened.

379. If anybody speaks to us, you say nothing.

380. I got no problem.

381. I got no problem.

382. You put me up here, man.

383. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get me out.

384. Stupid-ass haircut!

385. I got news for you, Mulder.

386. When they find out who's dead on the ground down there,

387. there's going to be no question

388. whose apartment he was pulled out of.

389. Who is he?

390. The same guy with the pouch.

391. Let's go.

392. I say follow the pouch.

393. Yeah?

394. Mulder, it's me. Listen to me.

395. Mulder, it's me. Listen to me.

396. Whatever's in that rock, it appears to be lethal.

397. What is it?

398. Dr. Sacks, he's...

399. I don't know, Mulder.

400. I've never seen this before.

401. I don't know if he's dead or alive.

402. I think you better find out.

403. I want you to get me an address in New York.

404. You're going to have to go through the Bureau to get that.

405. Who is it?

406. Fox Mulder.

407. What are you doing here? I need your help.

408. How do you know where I live?

409. FBI database.

410. I'm sorry. It's a matter of extreme urgency.

411. A diplomatic pouch left Russia and arrived here in the U.S.

412. Two men are dead. I need to know why.

413. You have its destination?

414. And its routing entries?

415. Thank you.

416. Agent Mulder?

417. The diplomatic pouch traveled an apex route

418. to the Russian province of Krasnoyarsk.

419. Krasnoyarsk?

420. Port of entry was the city of Norilsk.

421. That's just north of Tunguska.

422. Tunguska?

423. Yeah.

424. What are you looking for?

425. What are you looking for?

426. My cell phone.

427. I'm going to book myself on a flight to Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

428. I can help you, Agent Mulder.

429. Find my cell phone?

430. No.

431. With cover credentials, a diplomatic passport, a visa.

432. Why?

433. Why are you helping me?

434. Because I can.

435. Because there are those of us who believe in you...

436. believe in your search for the truth.

437. believe in your search for the truth.

438. How long will it take?

439. How long do you have?

440. Where have you been?

441. Making travel arrangements.

442. To go where?

443. Follow the pouch.

444. You're going to keep me in the dark.

445. Yeah.

446. These are level four suits.

447. Exactly what he's wearing.

448. Contamination is impossible,

449. unless there's a tear or a loss of pressurization.

450. So whatever happened to him,

451. it's unlikely it penetrated the suit.

452. What do you think happened?

453. We won't know until we get in there

454. and take a closer look.

455. Look, there's a film over everything.

456. Looks like spray kicked off the saw blade

457. when he was cutting into the rock.

458. Oh, my God!

459. This man's alive.

460. He can't be.

461. I mean, he's not breathing.

462. No, I think he is.

463. I think he's in some kind of a coma state

464. or some kind of somatic rigor.

465. Due to what? I don't know. I don't know.

466. But we have to get him out of here.

467. But we have to get him out of here.

468. Mulder, you're not...

469. I'm leaving the window rolled down.

470. If I'm not back in a week,

471. I'll call Agent Scully to come bring you a bowl of water.

472. Mulder!

473. Mulder, you're not going to leave me here!

474. I got information, Mulder, about a second bomb!

475. Time, date and place!

476. Time, date and place!

477. What'd you say to me?

478. What?

479. You called me a bad name.

480. You speak Russian, Krycek?

481. My parents were Cold War émigrés.

482. My parents were Cold War émigrés.

483. What's it to you?

484. You've been putting on the miles.

485. It would help if you had a phone.

486. I come out here because there are no phones.

487. What is it?

488. Our courier is dead.

489. Yes, I heard— pushed out a window.

490. Can this expose us?

491. No, of course not.

492. Our necessary and plausible denial is intact.

493. Then what is your concern?

494. Then what is your concern?

495. Last night, CIA airport intel

496. had a man using U.N. credentials appear on their computers,

497. booked on a flight for Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

498. Who was it?

499. We haven't been able to determine that

500. with any certainty as yet, but it appears to be a man

501. fitting the description of...

502. Fox Mulder.

503. You fool. You stupid fool.

504. This must be corrected.

505. This must be corrected.

506. This must be handled.

507. Well, of course it can be.

508. You know my capabilities in a crisis.

509. I don't think you realize what's at stake here.

510. What level this must be carried to.

511. This will take more than just a good aim.

512. Senator Sorenson wants to see us?

513. That's usually what a letter of summons means, Agent Scully.

514. Yes, but a summons for what?

515. I can only guess,

516. I can only guess,

517. but the fact I'm named in the invitation

518. with you and Agent Mulder leads me to believe

519. that I've been implicated in something

520. far more serious than I already know.

521. How much more serious, Scully?

522. It's hard to say.

523. More serious than harboring a known felon?

524. What about Agent Mulder?

525. What does he know?

526. Agent Mulder is endeavoring to get his own answers, sir.

527. Where?

528. He says it's about five kilometers through those woods.

529. Let's go.

530. You're really going to keep me in the dark, aren't you?

531. What are we doing here, Mulder?

532. June 30, 1908.

533. June 30, 1908.

534. Tungus tribesmen and Russian fur traders

535. look up into the southeastern Siberian sky

536. and see a fireball streaking to Earth.

537. When it hit the atmosphere,

538. it created a series of cataclysmic

539. explosions that are considered to be

540. the largest single cosmic event in the history of civilization—

541. 2,000 times the force of the bomb

542. that was dropped on Hiroshima.

543. What was it?

549. for 2,000 kilometers,

550. but no real definitive evidence has ever been found

551. to provide a satisfying explanation for what it was.

552. I think somebody found that evidence,

553. and the explanation is

554. something that nobody ever dreamed of.

555. What are they doing?

556. Looks like some kind of mining camp.

557. Oh.

558. I don't think they're miners.

559. Run!

560. I don't speak Russian.

561. Then no one has told you.

562. Told me what?

563. That you were brought here to die.

564. To wish you were dead.

565. I wasn't brought here.

566. I came here.

567. I was looking for something.

568. The only thing you will find here

569. is death and suffering.

570. What is this place?

579. To what?

580. To being a spy.

581. What did you tell them?

582. That we were stupid Americans, lost in the woods.

583. That we were stupid Americans, lost in the woods.

584. Mulder, you're going to need me in here.

597. We've been looking into the death

598. of this man outside your apartment, Mr. Skinner,

599. and it's raised some troubling questions.

611. And...

612. Agent Mulder.

613. Can you explain to me

614. why he declined my invitation to be here today?

615. Agent Mulder is in the field, sir,

616. seeking answers to the questions you are asking.

617. And where is he seeking these answers?

618. Agent Scully?

619. What were you saying?

620. That I want to see his supervisor.

621. Do svida'niya.

627. You are deceived.

628. Who are you?

629. A prisoner like you.

631. Why are you here?

632. To do the work, like the others.

633. Like them,
