this investigationCopy !req

79. It wasn't Skinner.Copy !req
80. Actually, I opened the file

90. Did you hear
that forensics foundCopy !req
91. a spent fire extinguisher
on the floor?Copy !req
92. Grissom's prints
were all over it.Copy !req
93. The walls and floor
in his living roomCopy !req

with ammonium phosphate.Copy !req
95. But no trace of fire.Copy !req
96. Not even a burnt match.Copy !req
97. Is that all you know?Copy !req
98. Yeah. So far.Copy !req
99. What do you think it means?Copy !req
100. Listen, I appreciate

106. Look... I may be green,Copy !req
107. but I had the case first,Copy !req
108. and I'm not gonna

109. All right, I'll tell you what.Copy !req
110. I got some work

132. Where are you?Copy !req
133. National Airport.Copy !req
134. Catching the shuttle up to
LaGuardia in about half an hour.Copy !req
135. How do you feel about joining me
in the Big Apple for an autopsy?Copy !req
136. What's going on?Copy !req
137. I was hoping you could tell me.Copy !req
138. I can't do it today; my last
class isn't over until 4:30.Copy !req
139. That's fine. I can have the M.E.

140. That's fine. I can have the M.E.

142. What's the name?Copy !req
143. Dr. Grissom's
alpha wave analysisCopy !req
144. defined the standard.Copy !req
145. It revolutionized the way
we think about sleep.Copy !req
146. His death is a tremendous loss
to the scientific community.Copy !req
147. How many other kinds of
sleep disorder did he treat?Copy !req
148. How many other kinds of
sleep disorder did he treat?Copy !req
149. There are 38 different
dyssomnias and parasomnias.Copy !req
150. Dr. Grissom
treated them allCopy !req
151. with an unprecedented

152. Maintaining that kind

154. Excellence demands

155. Did he ever show any signs
of psychological stress?Copy !req
156. Not really, except for his own
occasional bout of insomnia.Copy !req
157. But he was never delusional?Copy !req
158. Of course not.Copy !req
159. What's his story?Copy !req

164. It's still experimental,
but what we're trying to doCopy !req
165. is modify his brain wave
patterns externally.Copy !req
166. How do you do that?Copy !req
167. Electrical stimulationCopy !req
168. of the occipital lobeCopy !req
169. creates simple visual
and auditory hallucinations.Copy !req
170. So it's actually possible
to alter somebody's dreams?Copy !req
171. In theory, yes.Copy !req
172. I paid off your cab.Copy !req
173. I don't appreciate being ditched
like someone's bad date.Copy !req
174. Sorry if I hurt
your feelings.Copy !req
175. Where do you get off
copping this attitude?Copy !req
176. I mean, you don't know
the first thing about me.Copy !req
177. Exactly.Copy !req
178. You know,
back at the academy,Copy !req
179. some of the guys
used to make fun of you.Copy !req
180. Oh, stop it, or you're
gonna hurt my feelings.Copy !req
181. Some of us
followed your work,Copy !req
182. believed what you were doing
because we knew there was moreCopy !req
183. out there than
they were telling us.Copy !req
184. out there than
they were telling us.Copy !req
185. Yeah?Copy !req
186. Dr. Grissom didn't die
from cardiac arrest.Copy !req
187. Well, what is it?Copy !req
188. I think you should come backCopy !req
189. up here and take
a look for yourself.Copy !req
190. I haven't even started on
the chest and the abdomen yet,Copy !req
191. and I'll have a lot more
to tell you then.Copy !req
192. I can make it in two hours.Copy !req
193. Where we going?Copy !req
194. Spleen or pancreas?Copy !req
195. Stomach. I was just
about to start on it.Copy !req
196. Oh, uh, this is Alex Krycek.Copy !req
197. We're working
the case together.Copy !req
198. Good to meet you.Copy !req
199. You, too.Copy !req
200. Notice the pugilistic
attitude of the corpse.Copy !req
201. This condition generally occurs
several hours after death.Copy !req
202. This condition generally occurs
several hours after death.Copy !req
203. It's caused by a coagulation
of muscle proteinsCopy !req
204. when the body is exposed to
extremely high temperatures.Copy !req
205. Like fire?Copy !req
206. This degree of limb flexion
is observed exclusivelyCopy !req
207. in burn-related victims.Copy !req
208. But there was no fire.Copy !req
209. And no epidermal burns
to indicate as much.Copy !req
210. But when I opened up
the skull,Copy !req
211. I found extradural hemorrhages,Copy !req
212. which can only be caused
by intense heat.Copy !req
213. Somehow, this man suffered
all of the secondaryCopy !req
214. but none of the primary
physiological responsesCopy !req
215. but none of the primary
physiological responsesCopy !req
216. to having been in a fire.Copy !req
217. Any theories?Copy !req
218. I can't even begin
to explainCopy !req
219. what could have caused
something like this.Copy !req
220. I mean,
it's almost as if...Copy !req
221. What?Copy !req
222. As if his body believed
that it was burning.Copy !req
223. starburst, sapphireCopy !req
224. and cubic zirconia baguettes
all in a 14-karat gold band.Copy !req
225. Now, normally,
this ring retails for $1,350.Copy !req
226. Well, I think it'd be
a value at $900.Copy !req
227. I saw it in a big
department store last week...Copy !req
228. for $1,000,
but you are not going to believeCopy !req
229. what we are offering it
to you for.Copy !req
230. $677. I mean,
isn't that wonderful?Copy !req
231. You left your
door open, Willig.Copy !req
232. You left your
door open, Willig.Copy !req
233. Preacher?Copy !req
234. Not a good idea
leaving your door openCopy !req
235. in this neighborhood.Copy !req
236. You never know
who's gonna drop by.Copy !req
237. Damn. What are you doing here?Copy !req
238. How long you been in town?Copy !req
239. Not long.Copy !req
240. Want a beer?Copy !req
241. How you doing, Henry?Copy !req
242. Huh? Huh?Copy !req
243. Huh? Huh?Copy !req
244. How you been?Copy !req
245. How am I doing?Copy !req
246. I'm, uh...Copy !req
247. trying to forget.Copy !req
248. You know, I'm trying to get it
out of my head.Copy !req
249. No luck, huh?Copy !req
250. I'm, uh...Copy !req
251. still fighting it, you know?Copy !req
252. I keep seeing the faces.Copy !req
253. I keep seeing the faces.Copy !req
254. Every day, I see...Copy !req
255. Ah, what's the difference?Copy !req
256. We're all going to hell, right?Copy !req
257. Where do you think we've
been the last 24 years?Copy !req
258. After this, wherever he sends
us is gonna seem like...Copy !req
259. like a Hawaiian vacation.Copy !req
260. What do you want here,
Preacher?Copy !req
261. You killed him, didn't you?Copy !req
262. You killed him, didn't you?Copy !req
263. You killed Grissom.Copy !req
264. I saw it on TV.Copy !req
265. He had to pay, Henry.Copy !req
266. All of us have to
answer for what we...Copy !req
267. did over there.Copy !req
268. We can't get away from it.Copy !req
269. No.Copy !req
270. He retains
not his anger forever,Copy !req
271. because he
delights in mercy.Copy !req
272. He will turn again.Copy !req
273. He will have
compassion on us.Copy !req
274. He will subdue our
iniquities, Henry.Copy !req
275. And he will cast all our sins
into the depths of the sea.Copy !req
276. It's all right, Henry.Copy !req
277. It's all over now.Copy !req
278. Victim's name was Henry Willig—Copy !req
279. unemployed, lived on disability.Copy !req
280. Police found no indication
of forced entry or struggle.Copy !req
281. No abrasions or contusions
or trace evidence on the body.Copy !req
282. And cause of deathCopy !req
283. is being listed as...
burst aneurysm.Copy !req
284. So why did your friend
from Homicide call us?Copy !req
285. Because the medical
examiner called him.Copy !req
286. The autopsy revealedCopy !req
287. 43 small internal hemorrhages
and skeletal fragments,Copy !req
288. which doesn't just
happen spontaneously,Copy !req
289. not without some kind of
corresponding external trauma.Copy !req
290. What does the M.E.
have to say about it?Copy !req
291. What does the M.E.
have to say about it?Copy !req
292. He said
if he didn't know otherwise,Copy !req
293. he'd swear
they were gunshot wounds.Copy !req
294. What's this scar
right here?Copy !req
295. According to
his medical history,Copy !req
296. the only surgery he ever
had was an appendectomy.Copy !req
297. Unless they got to his appendix
through his neck...Copy !req
298. Maybe it happened in Vietnam.Copy !req
299. Willig did a tour
with the Marines in 1970.Copy !req
300. And I'm sure they didn't
keep the best records.Copy !req
301. Willig was a Marine?Copy !req
302. So where do all Marines
receive basic trainingCopy !req
303. on the East Coast?Copy !req
304. Parris Island?Copy !req
305. Parris Island?Copy !req
306. Where Grissom was stationed
from 1968 to 1971.Copy !req
307. Which means that he and Willig
were there at the same time,Copy !req
308. 24 years ago.Copy !req
309. Here we go.Copy !req
310. Willig was assignedCopy !req
311. to Special Force
and Recon Squad J-7.Copy !req
312. Of 13 original members,
he's one of two survivors.Copy !req
313. Until yesterday.Copy !req
314. Which leaves us
with one personCopy !req
315. who can tell us what
happened at Parris Island.Copy !req
316. I've been supervising
Mr. Cole's treatmentCopy !req
317. since I admitted him
12 years ago.Copy !req
318. I'm afraid you won't find him
very cooperative, though.Copy !req
319. We just want to ask him
a few questionsCopy !req
320. about his military service.Copy !req
321. He doesn't respond very well
to authority figures.Copy !req
322. Is that why you put him
in isolation?Copy !req
323. We've had to house Mr. Cole
in this section of the wardCopy !req
324. because he
was interferingCopy !req
325. with our treatment
of the other patients.Copy !req
326. How was he interfering?Copy !req
327. How was he interfering?Copy !req
328. He was disrupting
their sleep patterns.Copy !req
329. Psychiatric patients
especially, it's criticalCopy !req
330. that the circadian cycles
be strictly maintained.Copy !req
331. Excuse me, but exactly how
would Cole disrupt their sleep?Copy !req
332. Here we are.Copy !req
333. Mr. Cole,Copy !req
334. there's some
gentlemen here to...Copy !req
335. You discharged him two days ago.Copy !req
336. I most certainly did not.Copy !req
337. Don't you think
I'd remember if I did?Copy !req
338. Well, I was on shift, Doctor,Copy !req
339. Well, I was on shift, Doctor,Copy !req
340. and you signed
the order yourself.Copy !req
341. That is your
signature, isn't it?Copy !req
342. Let's get Cole's face
out on the wire.Copy !req
343. Mulder.Copy !req
344. Mr. Mulder,
I've obtained informationCopy !req
345. that might shed some light
on your current work.Copy !req
346. But you must exercise discretion
when we meet.Copy !req
347. If anyone follows you,
I won't be there.Copy !req
348. Who are you?Copy !req
349. Who I am is irrelevant.Copy !req
350. Why are you trying to help me?Copy !req
351. You think I want to be here,
Agent Mulder?Copy !req
352. I don't want to be here.Copy !req
353. What is this?Copy !req
354. Data from a top-secret
military project,Copy !req
355. born of the idea that sleep
is the soldier's greatest enemy.Copy !req
356. Grissom was conducting
sleep deprivation experimentsCopy !req
357. on Parris Island.Copy !req
358. Not deprivation— eradication.Copy !req
359. Why?Copy !req
360. Why else?Copy !req
361. To build a better soldier.Copy !req
362. Sustained wakefulness dulls
fear, heightens aggression.Copy !req
363. Science had just put
a man on the moon.Copy !req
364. So they looked to science
to win a losing war.Copy !req
365. And Willig and Cole
were the lab rats.Copy !req
366. And Willig and Cole
were the lab rats.Copy !req
367. Lab rats with the highest
kill ratio in the Marine Corps.Copy !req
368. 4,000-plus confirmed kills
for a 13-man squad.Copy !req
369. And you think Cole's behind
what's happening now?Copy !req
370. I'm not here to do
your thinking, Agent Mulder.Copy !req
371. All I know is Augustus Cole
hasn't slept in 24 years.Copy !req
372. There's someone else
you should see—Copy !req
373. another member of the squadCopy !req
374. who was reportedly
killed in action.Copy !req
375. I thought Cole was the last.Copy !req
376. His name is on
the envelope.Copy !req
377. His name is on
the envelope.Copy !req
378. How do I contact you?Copy !req
379. You can't.
I may need more.Copy !req
380. You still don't get it, do you?Copy !req
381. Closing the X Files,
separating you and ScullyCopy !req
382. was only the beginning.Copy !req
383. The truth is still out there.Copy !req
384. But it's never been
more dangerous.Copy !req
385. The man we both knewCopy !req
386. paid for that information
with his life—Copy !req
387. paid for that information
with his life—Copy !req
388. a sacrifice
I'm not willing to make.Copy !req
389. Where were you?Copy !req
390. Someone matching
Cole's descriptionCopy !req
391. just robbed
a drugstore in Queens,Copy !req
392. and police located him in
a motel around the corner.Copy !req
393. Is he alive?Copy !req
394. He was when the night manager
saw him.Copy !req
395. So where were you?Copy !req
396. Detective Horton!Copy !req
397. I'm Agent Krycek.
This is Agent Mulder.Copy !req
398. I'm Agent Krycek.
This is Agent Mulder.Copy !req
399. I been waiting
for you guys.Copy !req
400. I tried holding
the SWAT guys back,Copy !req
401. but they're getting
a little antsy.Copy !req
402. Whatever it's worth,
Cole didn't steal dime oneCopy !req
403. from that drugstore,
just a bunch of pills.Copy !req
404. Hold it! Freeze!
(gunfire)Copy !req
405. Inside now!Copy !req
406. Officer down!Copy !req
407. We got two officers down,
both critical.Copy !req
408. Request emergency
vehicles immediately.Copy !req
409. Request emergency
vehicles immediately.Copy !req
410. Roger.
I copy on your officers down.Copy !req
411. Paramedics request.Copy !req
412. We'll contact and advise.Copy !req
413. What's going on
here, Mulder?Copy !req
414. These two officers—
they shot each other.Copy !req
415. Also described in the
report is a highly experimentalCopy !req
416. neurosurgical procedure
designed to induceCopy !req
417. a permanent waking state.Copy !req
418. The procedure involvedCopy !req
419. cutting part of the brain stem
in the midpontile region,Copy !req
420. which would explain
Henry Willig's scar.Copy !req
421. A similar scar should also
be evident on Augustus Cole.Copy !req
422. Post-op treatment includedCopy !req
423. a regimen of synthetic
supplements to replenishCopy !req
424. the organic deficits caused by
prolonged lack of sleep.Copy !req
425. This is consistent
with the anti-depressantsCopy !req
426. This is consistent

427. Cole robbed from the pharmacy.Copy !req
428. These drugs maintain serotonin
levels in the blood—Copy !req
429. serotonin being
the primary substanceCopy !req
430. produced during sleep.Copy !req
431. While it is theoretically
possible that this procedureCopy !req
432. greatly diminished
the subject's need for sleep,Copy !req
433. I can neither quantify
nor substantiate its successCopy !req
434. without further
clinical evidence.Copy !req
435. Scully.Copy !req
436. The second officer is still
in a coma, so I don't thinkCopy !req
437. we can count on him
to tell us what happened.Copy !req
438. I'm going over
these reports you faxed me.Copy !req
439. They're incredible.Copy !req
440. Well, the military
already sent troopsCopy !req
441. through radioactive
mushroom clouds.Copy !req
442. I guess they figured they had to
top themselves, right?Copy !req
443. Sleep eradication
still doesn't explainCopy !req
444. the shooting
of those two officersCopy !req
445. or anomalous autopsy resultsCopy !req
446. on Willig and Dr. Grissom.Copy !req
447. Well, I learned something
at Grissom's clinicCopy !req
448. about what happens
to a person's cortexCopy !req
449. when you stimulate it
with electricity.Copy !req
450. They experience mild visual
and auditory hallucinations.Copy !req
451. Any first-year med student
can tell you that.Copy !req
452. Well, what if that stimulus were
to come from a remote source?Copy !req
453. Well, what if that stimulus were
to come from a remote source?Copy !req
454. What if Cole has somehow
developed the abilityCopy !req
455. to project his unconscious?Copy !req
456. Are you suggestingCopy !req
457. that Cole killed those people
with telepathic images?Copy !req
458. Well, think about it, Scully.Copy !req
459. In all those years
without REM sleep,Copy !req
460. maybe Cole built a bridgeCopy !req
461. between the waking world
and the dream world—Copy !req
462. the collective unconscious.Copy !req
463. What if by existing consciously
in the unconscious world,Copy !req
464. he's-he's developed the abilityCopy !req
465. to externalize his dreams
and effectively alter reality?Copy !req
466. to externalize his dreams
and effectively alter reality?Copy !req
467. Even if you're right,Copy !req
468. you'll have a much better
chance of finding ColeCopy !req
469. if you work up a profileCopy !req
470. and try and surmise
his next move.Copy !req
471. All right.Copy !req
472. I'll sharpen my pencils,
and I'll see you later.Copy !req
473. I'll be right
there, Krycek.Copy !req
474. Where are you going?Copy !req
475. We're gonna check on
another member of the squad,Copy !req
476. see if he can tell us
something about Cole.Copy !req
477. Sounds like your new partner
is working out.Copy !req
478. He's all right; he could useCopy !req
479. a little more seasoning
and some, uh, wardrobe advice,Copy !req
480. a little more seasoning
and some, uh, wardrobe advice,Copy !req
481. but he's a lot more open
to extreme possibilities than...Copy !req
482. Than I was?Copy !req
483. than I assumed he would be.Copy !req
484. Must be nice not having someone
questioning your every move,Copy !req
485. poking holes
in all your theories?Copy !req
486. Oh, oh, yeah, it-it's great.Copy !req
487. I'm surprised I put up
with you for so long.Copy !req
488. You better go.Copy !req
489. I'll, uh, read over
this report againCopy !req
490. and see what else
I can come up with.Copy !req
491. and see what else
I can come up with.Copy !req
492. Okay.Copy !req
493. Later, Sal.Copy !req
494. Later, Sal.Copy !req
495. Salvatore Matola?Copy !req
496. Are you here to shoot me?Copy !req
497. You gonna kill me?Copy !req
498. No, we're with the FBI.Copy !req
499. We just wanted to ask
you some questions.Copy !req
500. We just wanted to ask
you some questions.Copy !req
501. Why did you think
we were here to kill you?Copy !req
502. I don't know.Copy !req
503. You know about
Willig and Grissom, huh?Copy !req
504. I read about it in the paper.Copy !req
505. I figured they were
finally killing us all off.Copy !req
506. Who?Copy !req
507. Hey, Sal, can you spare
a few minutes?Copy !req
508. Yeah, I guess so.Copy !req
509. I got a break coming up.Copy !req
510. (muttering):
Spare a few minutes, I guess.Copy !req
511. They said it'd be like
living two lifetimes.Copy !req
512. And that... at first,
that-that's what it was like.Copy !req
513. Not having to sleep and allCopy !req
514. made us feel like nothing
could touch us, you know?Copy !req
515. Uh, we'd do 24-hour patrols,
night ambushes,Copy !req
516. Uh, we'd do 24-hour patrols,
night ambushes,Copy !req
517. you know,
that type of thing.Copy !req
518. And you never got tired?Copy !req
519. No.Copy !req
520. Not so that we had to sleep.Copy !req
521. And then, nothing that
the pills couldn't fix.Copy !req
522. Serotonin?Copy !req
523. Yeah.Copy !req
524. How long did this go on?Copy !req
525. Quite a while, I'd say.Copy !req
526. Quite a while, until...Copy !req
527. Quite a while, until...Copy !req
528. we stopped taking orders from
company commander in Saigon.Copy !req
529. The entire squadron
went AWOL?Copy !req
530. Yeah. Something like that.Copy !req
531. Well, then who did you
take orders from?Copy !req
532. We didn't.Copy !req
533. We just made up missions
as we went along,Copy !req
534. until it didn't matter anymore
who... who we were killing.Copy !req
535. Farmers, women.Copy !req
536. Outside of Phu Bai,
there was this... school,Copy !req
537. and, uh...Copy !req
538. They were just kids.Copy !req
539. No one ever tried to stop you?Copy !req
540. No, sir.Copy !req
541. We suspect Augustus Cole
may be behind the murdersCopy !req
542. We suspect Augustus Cole
may be behind the murdersCopy !req
543. of Willig and Grissom.Copy !req
544. You mean Preacher?Copy !req
545. That's-that's what
we used to call him,Copy !req
546. on account of he was always
reading from his Bible.Copy !req
547. You know, saying this and that
about Judgment Day.Copy !req
548. Saying that one day,Copy !req
549. we were gonna have to pay
for what we were doing.Copy !req
550. That's-that's... what he said
back then.Copy !req
551. That's-that's what he'd say.Copy !req
552. But why Grissom?Copy !req
553. He was never in country,Copy !req
554. he wasn't even
part of the squadron.Copy !req
555. Sure, he was.Copy !req
556. Sure, he was.Copy !req
557. He made us what we are.Copy !req
558. Him and Dr. Girardi.Copy !req
559. Who's Dr. Girardi?Copy !req
560. The other doc on the project.Copy !req
561. The one who did
the surgeries on us.Copy !req
562. It's because of him that...Copy !req
563. I haven't slept a night
in 24 years.Copy !req
564. I'm still not clearCopy !req
565. why you think Cole
will go after Girardi.Copy !req
566. Cole sees himself as
a kind of avenging angel.Copy !req
567. In his mind,Copy !req
568. everyone responsible
for the atrocities,Copy !req
569. whether directly or indirectly,
must be punished.Copy !req
570. Yeah, but why now?Copy !req
571. Why-why after all these years?Copy !req
572. Phu Bai was one of the bloodiest
massacres of the war.Copy !req
573. Over 300 children
slaughtered.Copy !req
574. But unlike My Lai, no U.S.
troops were ever charged.Copy !req
575. 24th anniversary of the
massacre was two days ago.Copy !req
576. 24th anniversary of the
massacre was two days ago.Copy !req
577. Mulder.Copy !req
578. I think I found the Francis
Girardi you're looking for.Copy !req
579. He's a Professor of Neurosurgery
at Harvard.Copy !req
580. Do you have his
number in Boston?Copy !req
581. Yes, except he's coming to
New York for Grissom's funeral.Copy !req
582. When?Copy !req
583. Tonight. He's arriving at
Bronx Station on the 7:30 train.Copy !req
584. Well, try to have a photograph
waiting for usCopy !req
585. at the security desk, so we know
who we're looking for, okay?Copy !req
586. Got it.Copy !req
587. Mulder, FBI.
You got a photo for me?Copy !req
588. Right here.Copy !req
589. Stay here. I'll cover
the other side.Copy !req
590. Federal agent!Copy !req
591. Drop your weapon!Copy !req
592. Drop it!Copy !req
593. Mulder?Copy !req
594. You all right?Copy !req
595. Girardi! Where is he?Copy !req
596. Girardi's not here.Copy !req
597. No, I saw him.Copy !req
598. He was...Copy !req
599. Mulder!Copy !req
600. You were shouting
and waving your gun around,Copy !req
601. but Girardi never showed.Copy !req
602. No. Girardi was here,
and so was Cole.Copy !req
603. We just missed them.Copy !req
604. We just missed them.Copy !req
605. Mulder, if they'd been here,
I would've seen them.Copy !req
606. I'm telling you, Mulder,
they-they weren't here.Copy !req
607. Okay, there's nothing here,Copy !req
608. so let's rewind the tape.Copy !req
609. Start with a small window
of time— say, 19:35 to 19:45.Copy !req
610. If you don't find anything
within that time frame,Copy !req
611. then open it up
one minute at a time.Copy !req
612. With all these cameras, we
should be able to see something.Copy !req
613. Can we talk
for a second?Copy !req
614. What's the problem?Copy !req
615. Well, you still haven't
answered my question,Copy !req
616. about what happened.Copy !req
617. I told you,
I thought I saw Girardi.Copy !req
618. Ah, come on, you just about
killed someone back there.Copy !req
619. And we both know
I'm covering for youCopy !req
620. by keeping it
between us.Copy !req
621. All right.
What do you want to know?Copy !req
622. Just the truth.Copy !req
623. There's things you're not
telling me that I need to know.Copy !req
624. It's just that my ideas
usually aren't very popular.Copy !req
625. I told you,
I want to believe.Copy !req
626. But I need a
place to start.Copy !req
627. But I need a
place to start.Copy !req
628. I think that Cole possesses
the psychic abilityCopy !req
629. to manipulate sounds
and images,Copy !req
630. to generate illusions that are
so convincing they can kill.Copy !req
631. How's that for a theory?Copy !req
632. Puts a whole new spin
on virtual reality,Copy !req
633. but at least it begins
to explain some things.Copy !req
634. Agent Mulder?Copy !req
635. See this car
in the upper right corner?Copy !req
636. Yeah.Copy !req
637. Yeah.Copy !req
638. It wasn't there
five minutes ago.Copy !req
639. Where is this?Copy !req
640. That's track 17.Copy !req
641. It's a restricted
part of the yard.Copy !req
642. What are you doing?Copy !req
643. This is insane.Copy !req
644. You can't do this to me.Copy !req
645. You can't hold me
responsible.Copy !req
646. I was following orders,
just like you.Copy !req
647. I was following orders,
just like you.Copy !req
648. The Lord hates
a lying tongue.Copy !req
649. It's the truth!Copy !req
650. The truth is what
you did to us—Copy !req
651. what you made us do.Copy !req
652. No one made you do anything.Copy !req
653. You volunteered.Copy !req
654. The righteous shall rejoice
when he sees the vengeance.Copy !req
655. Who is it?Copy !req
656. Who's there?Copy !req
657. He shall wash his feet in
the blood of the wicked.Copy !req
658. He shall wash his feet in
the blood of the wicked.Copy !req
659. Who is it?Copy !req
660. I can't see without my glasses.Copy !req
661. You don't need to see
to know who it is.Copy !req
662. You know who it is!Copy !req
663. No.Copy !req
664. He shall payCopy !req
665. as the judges determine.Copy !req
666. He shall give
life for life,Copy !req
667. eye for eye,Copy !req
668. tooth for tooth,
hand for hand...Copy !req
669. tooth for tooth,
hand for hand...Copy !req
670. No.
foot for foot, burn for burn,Copy !req
671. wound for wound,Copy !req
672. stripe for stripe.Copy !req
673. As he has disfigured a man,Copy !req
674. so shall he be
disfigured.Copy !req
675. And he who kills a manCopy !req
676. shall be put to death.Copy !req
677. He's still alive.Copy !req
678. Put pressure on the wound
on the back of his neckCopy !req
679. and radio for help.Copy !req
680. Now!Copy !req
681. Uh, this is Agent Krycek
requesting emergency assistance!Copy !req
682. My location is track 17
in the freight warehouse!Copy !req
683. My location is track 17
in the freight warehouse!Copy !req
684. Step away
from the edge.Copy !req
685. Corporal Cole,
I'm a federal agent.Copy !req
686. Now, please step back.Copy !req
687. Go ahead.Copy !req
688. Shoot me.Copy !req
689. That's not why I came up here.Copy !req
690. I'm putting down my gun.Copy !req
691. Just want to talk to you
for a few minutes.Copy !req
692. After that, you're free
to do whatever you want.Copy !req
693. I'm tired.Copy !req
694. I know.Copy !req
695. No, man, you don't know.Copy !req
696. You have no idea!Copy !req
697. One minute is all I'm asking.Copy !req
698. One minute is all I'm asking.Copy !req
699. One minute's more than
I care to give.Copy !req
700. Blood's boiling in my veins.Copy !req
701. I can feel the air
stinging on my skin!Copy !req
702. What the military did to you
was wrong,Copy !req
703. but maybe your testimony
can help.Copy !req
704. They cut out
a piece of my brain.Copy !req
705. They made me
into somebody else.Copy !req
706. I can never get back
what they took away from me,Copy !req
707. but I can stop them
from taking anything more.Copy !req
708. but I can stop them
from taking anything more.Copy !req
709. Krycek, put down the gun
and get out of here.Copy !req
710. Krycek, I saidCopy !req
711. put down the gunCopy !req
712. and get out of here!Copy !req
713. No!Copy !req
714. (whispers):
Good... night.Copy !req
715. He had a gun.Copy !req
716. He was gonna shoot you.Copy !req
717. You did the right thing.Copy !req
718. They broke into my office,Copy !req
719. went through my files,
my computer.Copy !req
720. I came down as soon
as security called,Copy !req
721. but the report
was already gone.Copy !req
722. Someone went to
a lot of troubleCopy !req
723. stealing both our copies
to keep this a secret.Copy !req
724. I know.Copy !req
725. You know, without
that report as evidence,Copy !req
726. Skinner's not gonna
authorize an investigation.Copy !req
727. Skinner's not gonna
authorize an investigation.Copy !req
728. He said it's never
been more dangerous.Copy !req
729. Skinner?Copy !req
730. That man who leaked
us the report—Copy !req
731. the one who's been
helping us.Copy !req
732. You actually met
with him?Copy !req
733. He said that closing
down the X FilesCopy !req
734. was just the beginning,Copy !req
735. that we've never been
in greater danger.Copy !req
736. Do you trust him?Copy !req
737. Do you know
where he got this?Copy !req
738. Not yet. But he got it.Copy !req
739. Which means he's either
found another source,Copy !req
740. or another source
has found him.Copy !req
741. Sir, if I can
recommend something.Copy !req
742. You'll see that I've outlined
several countermeasures.Copy !req
743. You'll see that I've outlined
several countermeasures.Copy !req
744. What about Scully?Copy !req
745. Reassigning them
to other sectionsCopy !req
746. seems only to have strengthened
their determination.Copy !req
747. Scully's a problem—Copy !req
748. a much larger problem
than you described.Copy !req
749. Every problem has a solution.Copy !req
750. I made this!Copy !req
