32. Just go on!Copy !req
33. Get out of here!Copy !req
34. I got the call
from Minneapolis PDCopy !req

36. Anything slightly
freakazoid,Copy !req
37. that's the drill:
call Moe Bocks.Copy !req
38. As if I'm tight with all

39. So, I shoot on down here

50. Why'd you call MUFON?Copy !req
51. I wanted to see
if there'd beenCopy !req
52. much UFO activity
in the area.Copy !req
53. You think this grave
was unearthed by aliens,Copy !req
54. Agent Bocks?Copy !req
55. Well, it has
all the telltale signs.Copy !req
56. Don't you think?Copy !req
57. I mean, according
to the literature.Copy !req
58. Literature?Copy !req
59. You know, the way
the hair and nailsCopy !req
60. have been cut away.Copy !req
61. Sort of like they do
in cattle mutilations.Copy !req
62. Well, I hate to disappoint you,
Agent Bocks,Copy !req
63. but this doesn't look
like the work of aliens to me.Copy !req
64. Oh, how can you
be sure?Copy !req
65. I've seen this kind
of thing beforeCopy !req
66. when I worked
at Violent Crimes.Copy !req
67. Whoever dug this up
probably used a backhoe.Copy !req
68. If you take a cast
of the ground in the area,Copy !req
69. you'll probably find
fresh new tracksCopy !req
70. leading from here
to a garage nearby.Copy !req
71. You think?Copy !req
72. Yeah, he may work here,
but it's not likely,Copy !req
73. though he's probably worked
at a mortuary or a cemeteryCopy !req
74. at one time or another,
probably even been busted,Copy !req
75. but you won't find
any record of that.Copy !req
76. Tends to be

79. You're saying
some human's been doing this.Copy !req
80. If you want to call him that.Copy !req
81. You okay, Scully?Copy !req
82. Yeah. I've read about cases of
desecrating the dead before,Copy !req
83. but this is the first
time I've seen it.Copy !req
84. Nothing can
prepare you for it.Copy !req
85. It's almost unimaginable.Copy !req
86. Why do they do it?Copy !req
87. Well, some people collect
salt and pepper shakers.Copy !req
88. Fetishists collect
dead things—Copy !req
89. fingernails and hair.Copy !req
90. No one quite knows why.Copy !req
91. Though I've never
really understoodCopy !req
92. salt and pepper
shakers myself.Copy !req
93. Sometimes you surprise me,
Mulder.Copy !req
94. Why's that?Copy !req
95. How that didn't shock you
back there.Copy !req
96. I prepared myself for it
before we left Washington.Copy !req
97. You knew this wasn't
UFO-related from the start?Copy !req
98. I'd suspected as much, yeah.Copy !req
99. It took us three hours

113. Oh. That's interesting.Copy !req
114. If you don't mind my saying,Copy !req
115. If you don't mind my saying,Copy !req
116. that's a lovely color lipstick
you're wearing.Copy !req
117. Is that Indian Summer?Copy !req
118. Yes.Copy !req
119. Yes, it is.Copy !req
120. Now, you're applying for the job
as the delivery man?Copy !req
121. To put myself through school.Copy !req
122. I've gone back to school.Copy !req
123. Oh.Copy !req
124. And what are you studying?Copy !req
125. Comparative religions.Copy !req
126. Oh.Copy !req
127. Are you a religious person
yourself?Copy !req
128. Yes.Copy !req
129. Very.Copy !req
130. You know, I probably
shouldn't say this,Copy !req
131. but Mr. Ficicello
feels very stronglyCopy !req
132. about religious backgrounds.Copy !req
133. He prides himself
on the honesty of his employees.Copy !req
134. Can you put that
on the application?Copy !req
135. I'll attach a little note.Copy !req
136. Thank you.Copy !req

to miss your game,Copy !req
143. but we found more bodies dug up.Copy !req
144. Did you get your forensics
report on the first one yet?Copy !req
145. He's got to be
happy about that...Copy !req
146. There was somebody
down there in the grave.Copy !req
147. Cut the hair with a pair
of pinking shears.Copy !req
148. Got to wonder
about this guy.Copy !req
149. Well, at least
he wasn't down thereCopy !req
150. with his Dippity-Doo
and his blow dryer.Copy !req
151. How many bodies
does that make?Copy !req
152. Three in
the last two days.Copy !req
153. What else can you tell meCopy !req
154. about the desecration
of the corpses?Copy !req
155. The hair was cutCopy !req
156. from the heads
of two bodies.Copy !req
157. From the third one,Copy !req
158. the fingernails
were pulled outCopy !req
159. (gasps)

160. a pair of
needle-nosed pliers.Copy !req
161. a pair of

162. All right, I want you to draft
an eyes-only memoCopy !req
163. to everyone in this office and
to all law enforcement agenciesCopy !req
164. in the metropolitan area.Copy !req
165. Saying what?Copy !req
166. That the Twin Cities
may have a...Copy !req
167. escalating fetishist

168. A what?Copy !req
169. An escalating
fetishist.Copy !req
170. Security should be tightened

171. Mortuaries, funeral homes and
hospitals should be notified.Copy !req
172. A story should be

173. warning of a possible stalkerCopy !req
174. in the area.Copy !req
175. This isn't New York,
Agent Mulder.Copy !req
176. People still keep
their doors unlocked here.Copy !req
177. This is going to scare them.Copy !req
178. All right, well,
then you can leave outCopy !req
179. the more gruesome aspects
in your press release.Copy !req
180. Why do you want to alarm folksCopy !req
181. if this guy
only preys on dead people?Copy !req
182. Because his compulsion
is growing.Copy !req
183. He may resort to homicide
to procure his corpses.Copy !req
184. Once he gets the taste
of a warm body,Copy !req
185. he's probably going
to want more.Copy !req
186. Maybe I've been isolated up hereCopy !req
187. in the Great White North
too long.Copy !req
188. in the Great White North
too long.Copy !req
189. What do you mean?Copy !req
190. People wondered why
it took them so longCopy !req
191. to catch this kid in Milwaukee.Copy !req
192. Thought someone
should have noticedCopy !req
193. he was killing
all those young boys.Copy !req
194. Truth is, no one ever believed
it could happen.Copy !req
195. Right.Copy !req
196. Well, if you catch
this guy before he kills,Copy !req
197. maybe they can go right on
believing that.Copy !req
198. We don't have the manpower

206. Touchdown...Copy !req
207. We got some work

208. I'm going to cancel

211. All right.Copy !req
212. A complete model

213. A complete model

214. of the death fetishist

215. The compulsion is the resultCopy !req

228. Agent Mulder believes strongly

230. Once he begins to murder,Copy !req
231. it is the killing

232. from a deeper motive—Copy !req
233. a motive which most people,Copy !req
234. including law enforcement

235. dare not imagine.Copy !req
236. It is somehow
easier to believe,Copy !req

242. Hi there.Copy !req
243. Hello.Copy !req
244. Hi.Copy !req
245. Hi.Copy !req
246. Are you looking for a date?Copy !req
247. Yes.Copy !req
248. Why don't you pull up
around the corner over there.Copy !req
249. Well, actually, I was thinking
of a couple of hours.Copy !req
250. Oh.Copy !req
251. Where do you have in mind?Copy !req
252. Don't you have any heat in here?Copy !req
253. It's freezing.Copy !req
254. The forced air unit is broken.Copy !req
255. I'd like to run you a bath.Copy !req
256. Is your hair treated?Copy !req
257. What?Copy !req
258. What?Copy !req
259. Do you need a shampoo
for chemically treated hair?Copy !req
260. You want me to shampoo my hair?Copy !req
261. I'll pay extra if that's
something out of the ordinary.Copy !req
262. Nobody has ever asked me.Copy !req
263. Excuse me.Copy !req
264. Hello.Copy !req
265. Is this Mr. Pfaster?Copy !req
266. Yes.Copy !req
267. Hi. This is Marilyn
at Ficicello Frozen Foods.Copy !req
268. Sorry to bother you so late,Copy !req
269. Sorry to bother you so late,Copy !req
270. but I'm calling to say
you've been hired, Mr. Pfaster.Copy !req
271. We'd like you to start
right away.Copy !req
272. Hey, what's
going on here?Copy !req
273. The water is ice cold.Copy !req
274. What kind of
sick freak are you?Copy !req
275. Oh, my God.Copy !req
276. Mr. Pfaster?Copy !req
277. Yes. That's wonderful news.Copy !req
278. Thank you so much.Copy !req
279. Don't you come near me.Copy !req
280. Don't you come near me.Copy !req
281. I mean it.Copy !req
282. Don't you touch me!Copy !req
283. Stay away from me!Copy !req
284. Keep away from me!Copy !req
285. Don't you come near me!Copy !req
286. Still waiting
for someone to I.D. the body.Copy !req
287. Judging from the area,Copy !req
288. I'd say she's probably
a working girl.Copy !req
289. I'd say she's probably
a working girl.Copy !req
290. Watch your step.Copy !req
291. Oh...Copy !req
292. Oh, my God.Copy !req
293. Oh, my God. Oh...Copy !req
294. Who did this to her?Copy !req
295. Who did this?Copy !req
296. Was it him?Copy !req
297. Looks like it.Copy !req
298. Knife wound the length
of the torso.Copy !req
299. Cut all her hair off,
took her fingernails.Copy !req
300. This time, he took
some fingers, too.Copy !req
301. This time, he took
some fingers, too.Copy !req
302. Want to see the body?Copy !req
303. Yeah.Copy !req
304. I need a minute.Copy !req
305. Hey, let him
take a look.Copy !req
306. Hi.Copy !req
307. I'm your new delivery man.Copy !req
308. I'm your new delivery man.Copy !req
309. Oh, hi. Come in.Copy !req
310. Did they give you
Skip's old route?Copy !req
311. Yes, I think so.Copy !req
312. I've just started
with the company.Copy !req
313. Skip's been delivering
to us for so long,Copy !req
314. we almost took it for granted
he'd always be around—Copy !req
315. since before
the kids were born.Copy !req
316. Lisa?Copy !req
317. This is, uh...Copy !req
318. Donnie. Donnie Pfaster.Copy !req
319. MRS.
He's taking over for Skip.
Oh, hi.Copy !req
320. MRS.
He's taking over for Skip.
Oh, hi.Copy !req
321. I'm going to go over
to Steve's now, okay?Copy !req
322. Okay.
You have a good time.Copy !req
323. Okay. Bye.Copy !req
324. Bye.Copy !req
325. We have
three daughters.Copy !req
326. Oh.Copy !req
327. Pardon me.Copy !req
328. May I use your washroom
to wash up my hands?Copy !req
329. Oh, sure. There's a washroom
just off the service porch.Copy !req
330. Oh.Copy !req
331. I just wanted to tell you,Copy !req
332. if we're ever not home,Copy !req
333. we always leave
the back door open here.Copy !req
334. Oh.Copy !req
335. Thank you.Copy !req
336. I'll remember that.Copy !req
337. Death is a recorded event.Copy !req
338. For reasons natural
or unnatural,Copy !req
339. when a body ceases to function,Copy !req
340. the cause of the effect
can be clearly reconstructed.Copy !req
341. A body has a story to tell.Copy !req
342. The time is 11:14 a.m.,
Monday, November 14.Copy !req
343. The time is 11:14 a.m.,
Monday, November 14.Copy !req
344. Deceased is a female
in her 20s.Copy !req
345. If the victim was strangled,Copy !req
346. an examination of the veins
in the eyes will reveal this.Copy !req
347. If the victim was shot,Copy !req
348. entry wounds and gunpowder
residue can be usedCopy !req
349. to reconstruct
the events leading to deathCopy !req
350. and help to establish
a possible motive.Copy !req
351. Hair and fibers,
slivers of glass,Copy !req
352. plastic, even insect casingsCopy !req
353. can serve to recreate
the circumstancesCopy !req
354. under which death occurred.Copy !req
355. under which death occurred.Copy !req
356. It may be an irony
only understoodCopy !req
357. by those of us
who conduct these examinations,Copy !req
358. that death, like life itself,
is a dramaCopy !req
359. with a beginning,
middle and end.Copy !req
360. It is my opinion, having
conducted this examination,Copy !req
361. that the victim died a wrongful
death for the express purposeCopy !req
362. of extracting
her hair and fingernails.Copy !req
363. The time of death cannot
be accurately determinedCopy !req
364. due to what I believe
must have been immersionCopy !req
365. in a cold environment,
most likely water.Copy !req
366. in a cold environment,
most likely water.Copy !req
367. For the record,
it is also my opinion that,Copy !req
368. outside of child homicide,Copy !req
369. which may be more tragic
and heinous,Copy !req
370. this is one of the most angryCopy !req
371. and dehumanizing murders
imaginable.Copy !req
372. Mm-mm. I just don't know.Copy !req
373. Look at each
man carefully.Copy !req
374. He's none of those guys.Copy !req
375. He was ordinary.Copy !req
376. He didn't look
like no freak.Copy !req
377. You remember
what kind of carCopy !req
378. he was driving,
what color it was?Copy !req
379. I think it
was white.Copy !req
380. I think it
was white.Copy !req
381. Okay, you can go.Copy !req
382. Just leave a number and address
where you can be reached.Copy !req
383. You going
to catch this guy?Copy !req
384. We'll catch him.Copy !req
385. Might be a good weekCopy !req
386. to take that paid vacation
the boss owes you.Copy !req
387. Yeah.Copy !req
388. Right.Copy !req
389. If this guy looks
regular-likeCopy !req
390. and he doesn't
have a record,Copy !req
391. he's going to be
near impossible to find.Copy !req
392. Not until
he kills againCopy !req
393. or until we can determine
what's driving him.Copy !req
394. I read your profile.Copy !req
395. Sounds like a guy
who can't make it with women,Copy !req
396. Sounds like a guy
who can't make it with women,Copy !req
397. which would explain
the hooker.Copy !req
398. No, no, the hooker was
just convenient.Copy !req
399. He's after trophies.Copy !req
400. His victim wasCopy !req
401. a young, attractive woman.Copy !req
402. The corpses he dug up
were all young women.Copy !req
403. So what's
fueling his need?Copy !req
404. What's importantCopy !req
405. about the hair
and fingernails to him?Copy !req
406. It's almost as if it's not
enough that they're dead,Copy !req
407. but he's also
got to defile them.Copy !req
408. I mean, there's a deeper
psychosis at work here.Copy !req
409. It's an unfathomable hatred
of women,Copy !req
410. uh, probably going
back to his mother.Copy !req
411. I'd say she's pretty fried
at him, too.Copy !req
412. I think the next thing
we have to do is callCopy !req
413. I think the next thing
we have to do is callCopy !req
414. all the psychiatric facilities
in the area and ask themCopy !req
415. if they have any records
of patientsCopy !req
416. with similar pathologies.Copy !req
417. This kind of a monster
isn't made overnight.Copy !req
418. He's been developing his fetish
for years.Copy !req
419. The necessity of
the story, the myth,Copy !req
420. in a culture
is almost universal.Copy !req
421. We think of mythsCopy !req
422. as things that
entertain or instruct,Copy !req
423. but their deeper purposeCopy !req
424. is often to explain
or make fancifulCopy !req
425. desires, wishes
or behaviorCopy !req
426. desires, wishes
or behaviorCopy !req
427. that society would otherwise
deem unacceptable.Copy !req
428. Because they
are conveyedCopy !req
429. in a wrapping of
untruth— the story—Copy !req
430. these thoughts become
harmless fiction.Copy !req
431. Take, for example,
the storiesCopy !req
432. we recite to
our children:Copy !req
433. Snow White,
Alice in Wonderland.Copy !req
434. The subtextual themes
when the queen ordersCopy !req
435. "off with her head"Copy !req
436. or the prince awakens
Sleeping Beauty with a kissCopy !req
437. are what Freud would describe
as death wish imaginings.Copy !req
438. Excuse me.Copy !req
439. I'm in your mythology class.Copy !req
440. Uh-huh.Copy !req
441. My name's Donnie.Copy !req
442. I sit a couple of rows over.Copy !req
443. Maybe you've seen me.Copy !req
444. Uh, I don't know. I...Copy !req

464. Help!Copy !req
465. Someone!Copy !req
466. Help!Copy !req
467. Hello.Copy !req
468. Scully, it's me.Copy !req

from a security officerCopy !req
474. who saw it happen.Copy !req
475. She hurt him pretty bad.Copy !req
476. Yeah, he's definitely
our guy.Copy !req
477. Who cut him?Copy !req
478. A working girl.Copy !req
479. They're all carrying knives
since what happened.Copy !req
480. I'm Agent Mulder.Copy !req
481. Have you been

482. I'm just
a straight businessman.Copy !req
483. I picked up this chick,
and I brought her home.Copy !req
484. I paid her the money,Copy !req
485. and she hauls
out this knife.Copy !req
486. Now, what am I
supposed to do?Copy !req
487. I smacked her
a couple of times—Copy !req
488. self-defense,
self-defense.Copy !req
489. Now... see?Copy !req
490. Nothing under
the fingernails.Copy !req
491. He's not our guy.Copy !req

a minute with you?Copy !req
496. I'll wait out front.Copy !req
497. I think I might better
drive this investigationCopy !req
498. if I could focus
on the evidence.Copy !req
499. What are you suggesting?Copy !req
500. What are you suggesting?Copy !req
501. That I take the body
back to Washington.Copy !req
502. I could run it through
the fingerprint lab there.Copy !req
503. You know, those guys,
they can pull...Copy !req
504. Scully, if you're having
trouble with this case,Copy !req
505. I want you to tell me.Copy !req
506. I'm not having
trouble, Mulder.Copy !req
507. I'd understand.Copy !req
508. I mean, it's not exactly
easy to stomach.Copy !req
509. I'm fine, really.Copy !req
510. I just think we're a long way
from catching this guy.Copy !req
511. If we could get a print,Copy !req
512. we'd have something
to focus on,Copy !req
513. but right now,
we're at a standstill.Copy !req
514. I think it's
a good idea.Copy !req
515. I just don't want
you to thinkCopy !req
516. I just don't want
you to thinkCopy !req
517. you have to hide
anything from me.Copy !req
518. I've seen agents with
20 years' field experienceCopy !req
519. fall apart on
cases like this.Copy !req
520. I have.Copy !req
521. I'm fine.Copy !req
522. I can handle it.Copy !req
523. Hey.Copy !req
524. What's your name?Copy !req
525. You talking to me?Copy !req
526. Yeah.Copy !req
527. Were those FBI agents?Copy !req
528. Yeah.Copy !req
529. What were they asking you?Copy !req
530. They thought I was some freak
who's been digging up corpses.Copy !req
531. Man, I'm in enough

532. What were their names?Copy !req
533. What were their names?Copy !req
534. Who?Copy !req
535. The younger agents.Copy !req
536. Oh.Copy !req
537. Uh, I don't remember his name.Copy !req
538. She was Scully.Copy !req
539. Like that baseball
announcer.Copy !req
540. Let's go, Mr. Pfaster.Copy !req
541. Go where?Copy !req
542. Lady's dropped the
charges against you.Copy !req
543. They're letting
you out as soon asCopy !req
544. you talk to a psychiatric
social worker.Copy !req
545. you talk to a psychiatric
social worker.Copy !req
546. At first glance,
there's not much to work with.Copy !req
547. Satin doesn't hold a print
real well.Copy !req
548. There may be a latent
somewhere in these bloodstains.Copy !req
549. I suspect the killer
wore gloves.Copy !req
550. Well, the body was
shipped on my flight,Copy !req
551. so it should be here
within the hour.Copy !req
552. so it should be here
within the hour.Copy !req
553. We'll take a look.Copy !req
554. How long you in town
for, Agent Scully?Copy !req
555. I have a flight back to
Minneapolis booked for tonight,Copy !req
556. but, um, I might cancel.Copy !req
557. I've put all
other work aside.Copy !req
558. Thanks.Copy !req
559. You think
that you find a wayCopy !req
560. to deal with these things.Copy !req
561. In med school, you develop
a clinical detachment to death.Copy !req
562. In your FBI training,Copy !req
563. you are confronted
with cases—Copy !req
564. the most violent
and terrible cases.Copy !req
565. You think you can look
into the face of pure evil...Copy !req
566. and then you find yourself
paralyzed by it.Copy !req
567. Are you aware that
you've been talkingCopy !req
568. Are you aware that
you've been talkingCopy !req
569. about yourself in
the second person?Copy !req
570. No.Copy !req
571. Was I?Copy !req
572. Do you know why?Copy !req
573. Um...Copy !req
574. probably as another way of
trying to detach myself from it.Copy !req
575. You're a very strong person.Copy !req
576. you've probably always feltCopy !req
577. you can handle any problem
by yourself.Copy !req
578. But you feel
vulnerable now.Copy !req
579. But you feel
vulnerable now.Copy !req
580. Do you know
why that is?Copy !req
581. No.Copy !req
582. Is it your partner?Copy !req
583. Is there a problem
with trust?Copy !req
584. No.Copy !req
585. I trust him as much as anyone.Copy !req
586. I trust him with my life.Copy !req
587. Can you talk to him about
the way you're feeling?Copy !req
588. No.Copy !req
589. I don't want him to know
how much this is bothering me.Copy !req
590. I don't want him to know
how much this is bothering me.Copy !req
591. Um...Copy !req
592. I don't want him to feel
like he has to protect me.Copy !req
593. I know you lost
your father last year,Copy !req
594. and, um...Copy !req
595. I read in your fileCopy !req
596. that you were
very ill recently,Copy !req
597. that your life
was threatened.Copy !req
598. These exposures
can leave youCopy !req
599. extremely vulnerable.Copy !req
600. I know these things.Copy !req
601. I know these things.Copy !req
602. I'm-I'm conscious of them.Copy !req
603. I...Copy !req
604. I know that the world
is full of predators,Copy !req
605. just as it has always been.Copy !req
606. And I know that it is my job
to protect people from them.Copy !req
607. And I have counted on that factCopy !req
608. to give me faith
in my ability to do what I do.Copy !req
609. I want that faith back.Copy !req
610. I want that faith back.Copy !req
611. I need it back.Copy !req
612. Okay, that's great.Copy !req
613. Oh, there you are.Copy !req
614. I've been looking
for you.Copy !req
615. I had a meeting.Copy !req
616. I got good news.Copy !req
617. What did you find?
Well, as I suspected,Copy !req
618. there was nothing
on the sheets,Copy !req
619. but we pulled something
nice off the body.Copy !req
620. The guy cut her
fingers off, right?Copy !req
621. But not all of them.Copy !req
622. On her right hand,
he left a thumb.Copy !req
623. I pulled this off
the nail polish.Copy !req
624. There must have been a struggle
before he killed her,Copy !req
625. There must have been a struggle
before he killed her,Copy !req
626. before he put the gloves on.Copy !req
627. I got to call Agent Mulder.Copy !req
628. Oh, somebody
called for you.
Who?Copy !req
629. Said he was an agent
working out of Minneapolis.Copy !req
630. I told him you were out, you had
a flight booked back tonight.Copy !req
631. Was it Agent Mulder?Copy !req
632. I didn't recognize the name.Copy !req
633. Did you tell him
about the print?Copy !req
634. Hadn't found it yet.Copy !req
635. Agent Busch, look at this.Copy !req
636. Mulder.Copy !req
637. Hi. It's me.Copy !req
638. We got a print.Copy !req
639. Scully got a print.Copy !req
640. Fantastic.Copy !req
641. I'm going to modem it
out to you immediatelyCopy !req
642. I'm going to modem it
out to you immediatelyCopy !req
643. to see if you can run a match.Copy !req
644. Are you staying on there,
Scully?Copy !req
645. No, I'm coming back tonight.Copy !req
646. Look, I know this is a pretty
horrific case, but if...Copy !req
647. I'm okay with it, Mulder.Copy !req
648. Anyway, you could use my help.Copy !req
649. Always.Copy !req
650. You or Agent Bocks
didn't call hereCopy !req
651. looking for me earlier,
did you?Copy !req
652. Did you call Scully?Copy !req
653. No.Copy !req
654. Hmm.Copy !req
655. Okay, well, I'll see you
when I get there.Copy !req
656. All right.Copy !req
657. All right.Copy !req
658. Go!Copy !req
659. FBI!Copy !req
660. I'll take
the bedroom!Copy !req
661. Move it, move it,
move it!Copy !req
662. Go!Copy !req
663. Team one, what is your status?Copy !req
664. We're clear back here!Copy !req
665. Clear!Copy !req
666. Bill.Copy !req
667. I think
it's human hair.Copy !req
668. The suspect does not
appear to be at home.Copy !req
669. Let's put out an APBCopy !req
670. Let's put out an APBCopy !req
671. on Donald Addie Pfaster,
age 28.Copy !req
672. Oh, take a look at this.Copy !req
673. She should be here.Copy !req
674. She was on the plane,
landed three hours ago.Copy !req
675. We found Agent Scully's car.Copy !req
676. Yeah, pull it in over here.Copy !req
677. She was forced
off the road.Copy !req
678. It looks like a white car.Copy !req
679. Get one of your men
and get a sample of this paintCopy !req
680. and get it on a
plane to Washington.Copy !req
681. If we hurry
and we're lucky,Copy !req
682. we can get a make and model
of the car by morning.Copy !req
683. We're going to find her.Copy !req
684. Nothing registered
to Donald Pfaster?Copy !req
685. Right.Copy !req
686. Right. Got it.Copy !req
687. The paint is called
"Ivory Bone."Copy !req
688. It's a two-step enamelCopy !req
689. used by three makers of
late model, mid-size cars.Copy !req
690. They estimate there
may be about 60,000 carsCopy !req
691. that fit that description
in the metropolitan area.Copy !req
692. Nothing?Copy !req
693. No.Copy !req
694. No.Copy !req
695. No one saw her
leave the rental agency?Copy !req
696. There was no attendant
in the area?Copy !req
697. Sorry, Mulder,
that's all we got.Copy !req
698. You know, people videotapeCopy !req
699. police beatings
on darkened streets.Copy !req
700. They manage to spot ElvisCopy !req
701. in three cities
across America every day,Copy !req
702. but no one saw a pretty woman
being forced off the roadCopy !req
703. in her rental car.Copy !req
704. He could have
taken her anyplace.Copy !req
705. How we going to find her?Copy !req
706. Well, um...Copy !req
707. we got to start
at the beginning.Copy !req
708. You know, as nasty
as it might sound,Copy !req
709. we got to try and get
inside this guy's head.Copy !req
710. Where would he go?Copy !req
711. Anywhere but
his mother's, right?Copy !req
712. Anywhere but
his mother's, right?Copy !req
713. Why do you say that?Copy !req
714. Being he's so pissed off at her,
from what your profile says.Copy !req
715. Do we know
where his mother lives?Copy !req
716. I don't know.Copy !req
717. Let's find out.Copy !req
718. The mother lives in
Boca Raton, Florida.Copy !req

Boca Raton, Florida.Copy !req
720. Huh. Correction.Copy !req

723. Did she have a car
registered to her?Copy !req
724. Late model white sedan.Copy !req
725. He inherited the car.Copy !req
726. Maybe Boca Raton
was a winter house.Copy !req
727. Does she have a residence
here in Minneapolis?Copy !req
728. (muffled):
No...Copy !req
729. Get the hell away from me!Copy !req
730. Don't be afraid.Copy !req
731. Is your hair normal or dry?Copy !req
732. Where are you going?Copy !req
733. There's no way

paramedics here now!Copy !req
741. I'm okay.Copy !req

750. Sure you don't want
to sit down, Scully,Copy !req
751. and let somebody
take a look at you?Copy !req
752. I'm fine, Mulder.Copy !req
753. (whispers):
It's all right.Copy !req
754. The conquest of fearCopy !req
755. lies in the moment
of its acceptance,Copy !req
756. in understanding
what scares us mostCopy !req
757. is that which is most familiar,
most commonplace.Copy !req
758. That the boy next door,
Donnie Pfaster,Copy !req
759. the unremarkable younger
brother of four older sisters,Copy !req
760. extraordinary only
in his ordinariness,Copy !req
761. extraordinary only
in his ordinariness,Copy !req
762. could grow up to be the devil
in a button-down shirt.Copy !req
763. It's been said that
the fear of the unknownCopy !req
764. is an irrational responseCopy !req
765. to the excesses
of the imagination,Copy !req
766. but our fear of the everyday—
of the lurking strangerCopy !req
767. and the sound of footfalls
on the stairs—Copy !req
768. the fear of violent deathCopy !req
769. and the primitive impulse
to surviveCopy !req
770. are as frightening
as any X File,Copy !req
771. as real as the acceptance
that it could happen to you.Copy !req
772. I made this!Copy !req
