The Walking Dead 1x1

1. - Little girl?

2. I'm a policeman.

3. Little girl?

4. Don't be afraid.

5. OK?

6. Little girl?

7. What's the difference between men and women?

8. This a joke?

9. No.

10. Serious.

11. Never met a woman who knew how to turn off a light.

12. They're born thinking in a switch, it only goes one way.

13. On.

14. They're struck blind the second they leave the room.

15. I mean every woman I let ever have a key I swear to God.

16. I come home, house all lit up, and my job,

17. apparently because my chromosomes have to be

18. different, is I then got to walk through that house,

19. turn off every single light this chick left on.

20. - Is that right?

21. - Yeah, baby.

22. Mmm.

23. Oh, Reverend Shane's preaching to you now, boy.

24. And then this same chick, mind you,

25. she'll bitch about, uh, global warming.

26. See?

27. This is when Reverend Shane wants

28. to quote from the Guy Gospel and say, um, darling?

29. Maybe you, and every other pair of boobs on this planet,

30. just figure out that the light switch, see, goes both ways

31. maybe we wouldn't have so much global warming.

32. - You say that?

33. - Anyway, uh, Polite version?

34. Still, man, that earns me this.

35. This look of loathing you would not believe.

36. And that's when the "Exorcist" voice pops out.

37. You sound just like my damn father!

38. Always— always yelling about the power bill, telling me

39. turn off the damn lights.

40. - And what do you say to that?

41. - I know what I want to say.

42. I want to say, bitch you mean tell me

43. you've been hearing this your entire life

44. and you were still too damn stupid to learn

45. how to turn off a switch?

46. I don't actually say that, though.

47. That would be bad.

48. - Right?

49. Right?

50. - Yeah, I go with the, uh, go with the,

51. uh— go with the polite version there, let me tell you

52. something.

53. - Very wise.

54. - Very—

55. So how's it with Lori, man?

56. - She's good.

57. She's going at turning off lights.

58. Really good.

59. I don't know why I sometimes forget.

60. - Not what I meant.

61. - We didn't have a great night.

62. - Hey look man, I may have, uh, failed to amuse with my sermon

63. but I did try.

64. Least you could do is— is speak.

65. - That's— that's what she always says.

66. Speak.

67. Speak.

68. You'd think I was the most close-mouthed son

69. of a bitch to hear her tell it.

70. - Can you express your thoughts?

71. Do you share your feelings?

72. That kind of stuff?

73. Thing is, lately whenever I try everything

74. I say makes her impatient.

75. Like she didn't want to hear it after all.

76. It's like she's pissed at me all the time and I don't know why.

77. - Hey look man, that's just shit couples go through.

78. Yeah, it's— it's a phase.

79. - The last thing she said this morning,

80. sometimes I wonder if you even care about us at all.

81. She said that in front of our kid.

82. Imagine going to school with that in your head.

83. Difference between men and women?

84. I would never say something that cruel to her,

85. and certainly not in front of Carl.

86. All available units, high speed

87. pursuit in progress Lincoln county east.

88. Request local assistance.

89. Highway 18 eastbound, GTA-ADW217243.

91. Suspects are two male Caucasians.

92. Be advised, they have fired on police officers.

93. One Lincoln county officer is wounded.

94. Unit One, Unit Three.

100. Highway 18, of interstate.

101. Please advise.

102. We just got word from Lincoln

103. county that they're off 18, southbound—

104. headed back down to 18.

105. - Sounds like they chasin' those idiots up and down

106. every back road we got.

107. - Maybe we'll get in one of them video shows, you know,

108. like world's craziest police chases.

109. What do you think?

110. What I think, Leo, is that we need to stay focused.

111. Make sure you've got a round in the chamber and your safety

112. off.

113. - Would be kind of getting on one of them shows.

114. Holy shit.

115. - Gun, gun, gun!

116. - Put it down!

117. Put the gun down!

118. Rick!

119. - I'm all right!

120. - I saw you get tagged, man.

121. That scared the hell out of me.

122. - Me, too.

123. Son of a bitch shot me.

124. You believe that?

125. Put a catcher in your vest?

126. - Yeah.

127. Shane, you do not tell Lori that happened.

128. Ever.

129. You understand?

130. Ah!

131. - Maurice, move in!

132. - No, no, no, no.

133. Shh, shh, shh, shh.

134. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

135. He's hit!

136. Leon!

137. You get that ambulance down here, you

138. tell them there's an officer down, you do it now!

139. OK.

140. Shh, shh, shh.

141. Now you look at me and you stay with me, you hear me?

142. Shh, shh, shh.

143. OK.

144. Oh, Rick, you stay with me.

145. That's it.

146. You hear me?

147. Shh, shh, shh.

148. OK.

149. Oh my God, Rick, you stay with me.

150. Shh, shh.

151. That's it.

152. That's it, no more tears.

153. Officer down.

154. Request paramedics.

155. Two miles west of I-85.

156. - Hey, bud.

157. We're still here.

158. We're still hanging in.

159. I'm sorry, man.

160. They always say the same crap every time I come in here.

161. Everybody pitched in on these.

162. They, uh, wanted me to bring them down.

163. They said they just— they hope you come back real soon.

164. Linda and Diane from dispatch, they picked these out.

165. You probably can't tell.

166. I'm just going to set these on your side table, OK?

167. - That vase has something special.

168. Fess up.

169. You steal it from your Grandma Jean's house?

170. I hope you left her that spoon collection.

171. Shane?

172. Shane?

173. You in the john?

174. - (STRAINING): Nurse.

175. Help!

176. Nurse.

177. Help.

178. - Lori?

179. Lori?

180. Carl?

181. Carl!

182. Lori!

183. Carl!

184. Lori!

185. Carl.

186. Is this real?

187. Am I here?

188. Wake— wake up.

189. - Daddy!

190. Daddy!

191. - Carl?

192. Carl.

193. I found you.

194. - Daddy, I got the son of a bitch.

195. I'm gonna smack him dead!

196. - He say something?

197. I thought I heard him say something.

198. He called me Carl.

199. - Son, you know they don't talk.

200. Hey, mister.

201. What's the bandage for?

202. - What?

203. - What kind of wound?

204. Now you answer me, damn you!

205. What's your wound?

206. You tell me, or I will kill you.

207. Got that bandage changed now.

208. It was pretty rank.

209. What was the wound?

210. - Gunshot.

211. - Gunshot?

212. What else?

213. Anything?

214. - Gunshot ain't enough?

215. - Look I ask and you answer.

216. It's common courtesy, right?

217. Did you get bit?

218. - Bit?

219. Bit, chewed, maybe scratched?

220. Anything like that.

221. - No, I got shot.

222. Just shot as far as I know.

223. - Hey.

224. Just let me.

225. Feels cool enough.

226. The fever would have killed you by now.

227. - I don't think I have one.

228. - Be hard to miss.

229. Take a moment to look how sharp it is.

230. You try anything, I will kill you

231. with it and don't you think I won't.

232. Come on out when you're able.

233. Come on.

234. This place Fred and Cindy Drake's?

235. - Never met them.

236. - I've been here.

237. This is their place.

238. - It was empty when we got here.

239. Don't do that.

240. They'll see the light.

241. There's more of them out there than usual.

242. Hell, I never should have fired that gun today.

243. Sound draws them, now they're all over the street.

244. Stupid.

245. Using a gun.

246. It all happened so fast, I didn't think.

247. - You shot that man today.

248. - Man?

249. Weren't no man.

250. - The hell was that out your mouth just now?

251. - It wasn't a man.

252. - You shot him in the street out front.

253. A man.

254. Friend, you need glasses.

255. It was a walker.

256. Come on.

257. Sit down before you fall down.

258. Here.

259. - Daddy.

260. Blessing.

261. - Yeah.

262. Oh Lord we thank these for this food, Thy blessings,

263. and we ask You to watch over us in these crazy days.

264. Amen.

265. - Amen.

266. - Hey mister.

267. Do you even know what's going on?

268. - I woke up today in the hospital.

269. Came home, that's all I know.

270. - But you know about the dead people, right?

271. - Yeah I saw a lot of that.

272. Out on the loading dock, piled in trucks.

273. - No.

274. Not the ones they put down.

275. The ones they didn't.

276. The walkers.

277. Like the one I shot today.

278. Cause he'd have ripped into you.

279. Tried to eat you, taken some flesh at least.

280. Well I guess if this is the first you're hearing it,

281. I know how it must sound.

282. - They're out there now?

283. In the street?

284. - Yeah.

285. They get more active after dark sometimes.

286. Maybe it's the cool air, or— hell, maybe it's

287. just me firing off that gun today.

288. But we'll be fine as long as we stay quiet.

289. Probably wander off by morning.

290. Well, listen.

291. One thing I do know, don't you get bit.

292. I saw your bandage and that's what we were afraid of.

293. Bites kill ya.

294. The fever burns you out.

295. But then after a while?

296. You come back.

297. - Seen it happen.

298. - Carl.

299. He your son?

300. Well you— you said his name today.

301. - He's a little younger than your boy.

302. And he's with his mother?

303. - I hope so.

304. - Dad?

305. - Hey.

306. - Did you ask him?

307. - Your gunshot?

308. We got a little bet going and my boy said you're a bank robber.

309. - Yeah.

310. That's me.

311. Deadly as Dillinger.

312. Kapow.

313. Sheriff's deputy.

314. - Uh-huh.

315. Hey, it's OK.

316. Daddy's here.

317. It's nothing.

318. One of them must have bumped a car.

319. - You sure?

320. - Happened once before.

321. Went on for a few minutes.

322. Get the light, Duane.

323. It's the blue one down the street.

324. Same one as last time.

325. I think we're OK.

326. - That noise.

327. Won't it bring more of them?

328. Nothing we can do about it now.

329. Just have to wait them out until morning.

330. - She's here.

331. - Don't look.

332. Get away from the windows.

333. I said go!

334. Come on!

335. - Quiet.

336. Come on.

337. Quiet.

338. Shh.

339. Shh.

340. It's OK.

341. Here.

342. Cry into the pillow.

343. You remember?

344. Shh.

345. She, uh— she died in her other room on that bed in there.

346. There was nothing I could do about it.

347. That fever, man.

348. Her skin gave off a heat like a furnace.

349. I should have— I should have put her down, man.

350. I should have put her down.

351. I know that, but, you know, I just didn't have it in me.

352. She's the mother of my child.

353. We're sure they're dead?

354. I have to ask at least one more time.

355. They dead.

356. Except for something in the brain.

357. That's why it's got to be the head.

358. You all right?

359. - Need a moment.

360. They're alive.

361. My wife and son.

362. At least they were when they left.

363. - How can you know?

364. By the look of this place—

365. - I found empty drawers in the bedroom.

366. They packed some clothes.

367. Not a lot, but enough to travel.

368. - You know anybody could have broken

369. in here and stolen clothes, right?

370. - You see the framed photos on the walls?

371. Neither do I. Some random thief take those, too, you think?

372. Our photo albums, family pictures, all gone.

373. - Photo albums.

374. My wife same thing.

375. There I am packing survival gear, she's grabbing photo al—

376. - They're in Atlanta, I bet.

377. - That's right.

378. - Why there?

379. Refugee centre.

380. Huge one, they said, before the broadcast stopped.

381. Military protection, food, shelter.

382. They told people to go there.

383. Said it'd be safest.

384. Plus they get that disease place.

385. - Centre for Disease Control.

386. Said they were working out how to solve this thing.

387. Gas line's been down maybe a month.

388. - Station's got it's own propane system.

389. Pilot's still on.

390. - Oh my lord!

391. Hot water!

392. - Oh that feels good, right?

393. - Uh, uh.

394. Yeah.

395. Mm.

396. What? Take that.

397. What?

398. - Duane.

399. Dressing room back there.

400. - What you say, Duane?

401. - Thank you.

402. Mmhmm.

403. - Atlanta sounds like a good deal.

404. Safer, anyway.

405. People.

406. - That's where we were heading.

407. Things got crazy.

408. Man you wouldn't believe the panic.

409. Streets weren't fit to be on.

410. And then m— my wife couldn't travel.

411. No.

412. Not with her hurt, so we had to find a place to lay low.

413. And then after she died, we just stayed hunkered down.

414. I guess we just froze in place.

415. - Plan to move on?

416. - Haven't worked up to it, yet.

417. - A lot of it's gone missing.

418. - Daddy, can I learn to shoot?

419. I'm old enough.

420. - Hell yes you're going to learn.

421. We got do it carefully, teach you to respect the weapon.

422. - That's right, it's not a toy.

423. You pull the trigger, you have to mean it.

424. Always remember that, Duane.

425. - Yes, sir.

426. - Here.

427. Go look.

428. - Take that one.

429. Nothing fancy, scope's accurate.

430. Conserve your ammo.

431. Goes faster than you think, especially at target practise.

432. - Duane?

433. DUANE; Huh?

434. - Take this to the car.

435. - You sure you won't come along?

436. - Few more days.

437. By then, Duane will know how to shoot and I won't be so rusty.

438. - You got one battery.

439. I'll turn mine on a few minutes every day at dawn.

440. You get up there, that's how you find me.

441. - You think ahead.

442. Can't afford not to.

443. Not anymore.

444. Listen, one thing.

445. They may not seem like much one at a time, but in a group,

446. all riled up and hungry?

447. Man, you watch your ass.

448. - You, too.

449. - You a good man, Rick.

450. I hope you find your wife and son.

451. - Be seeing you, Duane.

452. Take care of your old man.

453. - Yes, sir.

454. - Leon Basset?

455. Didn't think much of him.

456. Careless and dumb, but can't leave him like this.

457. - You know they'll hear the shot.

458. - Let's not be here when they show up.

459. - Let's go, son.

460. Come on.

461. - Read your comic books a while.

462. Daddy'll be upstairs.

463. Daddy?

464. Sorry, Duane!

465. You still there, son.

466. Don't you come up here.

467. Come on, baby.

468. - I'm sorry this happened to you.

469. - Come on!

470. Come on.

471. Broadcasting on emergency channel,

472. will be approaching Atlanta on Highway 85.

473. Anybody reads, please respond.

474. Hello?

475. Hello?

476. Can anybody hear my voice?

477. Anybody out there?

478. Anybody hears me, please respond.

479. Hello?

480. Can you hear my voice?

481. Hello?

482. Hello?

483. Can anybody hear my voice?

484. - Hey, hello?

485. Can you hear my voice?

486. - Yes, I can hear you, you're— you're coming through, over.

487. Anybody reads, please respond.

488. Broadcasting on emergency channel.

489. Will be approaching Atlanta on Highway 85.

490. If anybody reads, please respond.

491. - We're just outside the city.

492. Damn it.

493. Hello?

494. Hello?

495. He couldn't hear me, I couldn't warn him.

496. - Try to raise him again.

497. Come on, son, you know best how to work this thing.

498. - Hello, hello?

499. Is the person who called still on the air?

500. This is Officer Shane Wallace broadcasting to person unknown,

501. please respond.

502. He's gone.

503. - There are others.

504. It's not just us.

505. - Well we knew there would be, right?

506. That's why we left the CB on?

507. - Lot of good it's been doing.

508. And I've been saying for a week, we ought to put signs on 85

509. and warn people away from the city.

510. - Folks got no idea what they're getting into.

511. - Well, we haven't had time.

512. - I think we need to make time.

513. - And that, uh— that's a luxury we can't afford.

514. We are surviving here, we are day to day.

515. - And who the hell would you propose we send?

516. - I'll go.

517. Give me a vehicle.

518. - Nobody goes anywhere alone and you know that.

519. - Yes, sir.

520. - Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

521. Go on and take a seat bud.

522. You're all right.

523. Go on, you're all right.

524. What, you pissed at me?

525. You can be pissed at me all you want,

526. it's not gonna change anything.

527. I'm not putting you in danger, OK?

528. I'm not doing it for anything.

529. That make you feel like sometimes you slap me

530. upside the head, tell you what, girl.

531. You feel that, you go right.

532. I'm right here.

533. Come on.

534. You cannot walk off like that.

535. All half cocked.

536. Look, if you do not want to do for my sake

537. and for your sake, that's fine.

538. But just— you do it for him.

539. The boy's been through too much and he's not losing his mother,

540. too.

541. OK?

542. OK.

543. - OK.

544. - You tell me OK.

545. It's not hard.

546. Hey.

547. Mom?

548. What's up, buddy?

549. She's in there.

550. Go on.

551. - Hey.

552. I don't want you to worry.

553. Your mamma's not going anywhere.

554. OK?

555. Yeah?

556. Yeah?

557. Go finish your chores.

558. - OK.

559. - Hello?

560. Police officer out here!

561. Can I borrow some gas?

562. Hello?

563. Hello?

564. Anybody home?

565. Easy now.

566. Easy.

567. Not going to hurt you.

568. Nothing like that.

569. More like a proposal.

570. Atlanta's just down the road a ways.

571. Safe there.

572. Food, shelter, people.

573. Other horses, too, I bet.

574. How's that sound?

575. There we go.

576. Good boy.

577. Good boy.

578. Good boy.

579. Here, come with me.

580. Come on.

581. Come on.

582. Let's go easy, OK?

583. I haven't done this for years.

584. Woah.

585. Woah.

586. Easy.

587. Aw.

588. Easy, boy.

589. Easy.

590. Easy.

591. Easy.

592. Easy.

593. Woah.
