I know, sweetie.
38. Patrick, I can explain. Patrick!

43. Dr. Cooper,
call the nursing staff.
44. Dr. Cooper, please call the nursing staff.
45. Vanya?
46. Hey. Wake up.
47. - Oh, my God, you're awake!
- Yeah.
48. Wh— Why... Why... Why...
49. - Why are you dressed?
- I'm gettin' out of here.
50. - Don't you need to be observed? Or—
- No, no, no.
51. They, uh, want me to come back
for a checkup tomorrow,
52. and to be fitted for a prosthetic eye,
but that's it.
53. - God, your eye, I'm so sorry.
- No, I don't wanna—
54. I don't wanna talk about it, I just...
55. Let's go home, okay?
56. Okay.
57. I'm just glad you're all right.
58. I don't know what I'd have done
if something happened to you.
59. Excuse me! Mr. Peabody.
60. The doctor hasn't discharged you.
61. - I thought you—
- I'm fine. I'm ready to go.
62. Fine, but you'll have to sign
the voluntary discharge papers.
63. There were three men that were hurt
outside the tavern last night.
64. - Do you know what happened to them?
- We just got one.
65. And where are the other two?
66. Well, paramedics couldn't save them.
67. - And the one that made it?
- Critical condition,
68. but still with us, thank God.
69. Just waiting for him to wake up.
70. Come on.
71. Luther...
72. Ohh...
73. Wakey, wakey!
74. Eggs and bakey!
75. Oh, there's the man.
76. Someone pulled a disappearing act
last night.
77. What mischief did you get into?
78. - What? I didn't.
- Oh, no?
79. Maybe I should ask her. Hello.
80. Oh, come on, don't be so shy, big guy.
You needed it!
81. Not a lot of ladies on the Moon, I assume.
82. And all that...
83. pressure resting on those big...
84. - hairy shoulders...
- Klaus, enough.
Wait. Was this, like... Is this your...
85. No way!
86. Whoo!
- We are not having this discussion.
87. - He popped his cherry!
88. Now you're gonna have
to marry her!
89. - Would you keep your voice down?
90. Hey, you know, I remember my first...
91. Oh, no, I don't.
92. Klaus, what is it?
93. What? Oh, the...
Uh, important family business.
94. Meet me downstairs, okay?
95. And, Luther...
96. No dilly-dallying, all right? Chop, chop.
97. Here we go. This'll fix ya.
98. - Nice. Okay.
99. Jesus. Who do I gotta kill
to get a decent cup of coffee?
100. Can we get started?
101. Anyone seen any of the others?
Diego? Allison? No?
102. All right, then,
this is the closest thing to a quorum...
103. - ... that we're gonna get.
104. Now, listening up.
105. There's no easy way to say this,
so I'm just gonna spit it out.
106. This is a bad idea.
107. Yeah.
108. - Klaus.
- I conjured Dad last night.
109. You said you haven't been able
to conjure anyone in years.
110. Ah, yes, I know, but I'm sober. Ta-da!
I got clean, yesterday,
to talk to someone special,
111. and then ended up having this...
conversation with dear old Daddy himself.
112. - Has anyone got some aspirin?
- Top shelf, next to the crackers.
113. Hey, hey, hey.
This is serious, guys, all right?
114. - This really happened, I swear.
115. Okay, fine. I'll play.
What did the old man have to say?
116. Well, he gave me the usual lecture about
my appearance and my failures in life.
117. Yada yada yada.
118. No surprise there. Even the afterlife
couldn't soften a hardass like Dad, right?
119. But he did mention something
about his murder, or lack thereof,
120. - because...
- Wait for it.
121. he killed himself.
122. I don't have time for your games, Klaus.
123. I'm telling you the truth, Luther.
I'm telling you the truth.
124. Why'd he do it, then?
125. He said it was the only way
to get us all home again.
126. No. Dad wouldn't just kill himself.
127. Ah, you said it yourself.
He was depressed.
128. Holed up in his office and room
all day and night.
129. No. There weren't any signs.
130. Suicidal people exhibit
certain tendencies, strange behaviors.
131. Like sending someone to the Moon
for no reason?
132. - I swear to God, Klaus, if you're lying...
- I'm not. I'm not.
133. Master Klaus is correct.
134. Regretfully...
135. I helped Master Hargreeves
enact his plan.
136. - What?
So did Grace.
137. It was a difficult choice for both of us.
138. More difficult than you could ever know.
139. Prior to your father's death,
140. Grace's programming was adjusted
141. so that she was incapable
of administering first aid
142. on that fateful night.
143. Sick bastard.
144. So the security tape we saw?
145. It was meant to
further the murder mystery.
146. Your father hoped that being back here,
147. - solving it together...
148. would reignite your desire
to be a team again.
149. - And to what end?
To save the world, of course.
150. All right.
151. First the Moon mission and now this.
152. You watched me search for answers
and said nothing.
153. Anything else you want to share, Pogo?
Any other damn secrets?
154. - Hey, calm down, Luther.
- No, I won't calm down.
155. We've been lied to by the one person
in this family we all trusted.
156. It was your father's dying wish,
Master Luther.
157. I...
158. I had no choice.
159. There's always choice.
160. I gotta think.
161. It's not your fault...
162. what happened to those guys.
163. You saw what happened.
164. It just surged out of me like a...
165. tidal wave.
166. And it killed them.
167. I killed them.
168. You were acting in self-defense.
You were defending me.
169. - I shouldn't be able to do that.
- But you can.
170. You have a power, Vanya.
171. You have a gift.
172. It's like with the boat.
173. If I— if I try to do it, I can't.
And if I don't try, people die.
174. It's just another thing
that I can't do right.
175. Stop, don't say that.
176. Don't.
177. I... This stuff that's happening to you,
178. it's scary.
179. But maybe we can control it.
Make it less tidal wave,
180. more ripple.
181. Right?
It's okay.
182. Come on, move!
183. Nope.
184. Not liking this. Not one bit.
185. We aren't in a rush, Hazel.
186. We have the rest of our lives.
187. Even with traffic,
188. we should be able to be
at the Wadsworth Sanctuary for lunch.
189. They have a real live peacock there.
190. And over here is...
just two miles from a vegan doughnut shop.
191. Why would anyone do that
to a perfectly good doughnut?
192. Looks like you got three years'
worth of stops mapped out.
193. And we have time to see 'em all.
194. Vanya.
195. Hey. Pardon me. Hey.
Oh—
196. I gotta ask you to stay behind the lines.
We had an accident here last night.
197. A— What kind of accident?
- Ma'am. The line, please.
198. Okay. Yes. Sorry.
199. Got a lot of stuff on the ground, okay?
To be wary of.
200. What happened?
201. We're trying to figure that out.
202. As soon as we do, you'll be able to read
it in the newspaper with everybody else.
203. So, have a nice day.
204. - Look, officer, if there is any way—
- Holy shit!
205. You're Allison Hargreeves?
206. I saw you on TV two nights ago
207. in that Sandra Bullock movie
about underpaid teachers that rob a bank.
208. - Yeah. That's me.
Oh! Wow. Hey.
209. If I'm being honest, my wife and I,
we prefer you in the romantic comedies.
210. Oh.
- The Love on Loan trilogy.
211. - Ouf!
212. Copy, Cheddar?
213. Yeah, what do you got, Fred?
214. Hospital called. Perp from last night
just regained consciousness.
215. Copy. I'll be right over.
216. Allison freakin' Hargreeves.
217. - Wow.
218. Ah, my wife's not gonna believe it.
219. Anyway, I— I— I... I gotta go.
220. - Oh.
Um...
221. - Work stuff. Yeah.
- Yeah, of course. Sorry.
222. Actually, that's... why I'm here.
223. I'm— I'm researching a role.
A law enforcement role.
224. In Jackpine Cove?
We haven't had a murder here in years.
225. Oh, uh... it's about, um...
a small-town cop
226. who takes down a drug cartel.
227. In fact, maybe I could tag along
while you conduct
some official police business?
228. I promise... I won't get in the way.
I just...
229. I think you could really, um...
help me develop my character,
230. if I could live a day in the life,
you know.
231. Day in the life, huh?
232. Eh...
233. Come on.
234. Follow me.
235. You gotta get me out of here, bro.
236. I can't. They're transferring you upstate
this afternoon.
237. - I didn't kill Patch.
- I know.
238. - I'm not the guy you gotta convince.
- That's bullshit, you know that.
239. You were there, Diego.
240. At the motel.
241. And there's the...
242. contentious history you two had.
243. - Did she say that?
- What?
244. Did she use that word?
245. "Contentious"?
246. What the hell does it matter?
- It matters to me.
247. Answer the question.
248. It's my word.
249. She put up with a lot of your shit.
250. I never understood it.
251. Maybe it had something to do with our...
252. contentious relationship.
253. Or maybe she knew you cared
about helping people as much as she did.
254. Good luck, Diego.
255. June 12th.
256. A controlled environment has proven ideal
257. for the maximum impact
of Number Seven's powers.
258. But in the face of sure, uninvited chaos,
259. she must be trained
to locate control in another form.
260. Concentrate, Number Seven.
261. Again.
262. Just concentrate.
263. On what?
I don't even know where to begin.
264. Think about last night.
265. What was happening?
266. Okay.
267. We were leaving the restaurant.
268. And there were three men.
269. They were sitting on your truck,
laughing at us.
270. They were drunk, really drunk.
271. They were out of control, and...
272. Hey.
you tried to talk to them.
273. - Don't touch her.
They wouldn't listen.
274. And they were hurting you.
275. The sound of them kicking you
was horrible,
276. and I wanted to stop them,
but I... I couldn't.
277. I felt powerless.
278. It was the sound of the engine that...
279. It's like everything went quieter
and quieter.
280. Except for the truck engine.
It— It became louder and louder,
281. un— until it was all I could hear.
282. And it just all started
to resonate in my mind.
283. I felt it come to life inside of me,
284. and then it just... it spilled over.
285. - Vanya, this is—
- It's terrifying.
286. Extraordinary.
287. Okay...
288. Hey. Get up. We're going.
289. - Where?
- To save the world.
290. Oh, is that all? Great.
291. So, Pogo said Dad killed himself
to get us all back together, right?
292. - Yeah, so?
- So it got me thinking.
293. I had to jump to the future
to figure out when it happened,
294. but Dad, he can't time travel.
295. So how'd the crazy bastard actually know
296. to kill himself a week
before the end of the world?
297. Well, you know...
298. Don't answer. That was purely rhetorical.
299. Truth is, our whole lives,
he's been telling us
300. we'd save the world
from an impending apocalypse.
301. Yeah, but I always thought he just said
that to scare us into doing the dishes.
302. Me too. But what if the old man
really knew it was going to happen?
303. - Yeah, but knew how?
- No idea.
304. But the fact remains,
his fakakta plan worked.
305. - We all came home.
306. We're here,
we might as well save the world.
307. - Oh yeah? What, like, the two of us?
- Uh, well, ideally, no, but...
308. gotta work with what I've got.
309. Where have you been?
- Jail.
310. - Long story. Where's Luther?
- Haven't seen him since breakfast.
311. Yeah. Two days until the world ends,
312. he picks a great time
to drop off the grid.
313. Shit.
314. Allison is in danger.
315. Listen to everything around you.
316. After 12 days of success,
317. Number Seven showed
an unexpected resistance to her training.
318. Number Seven, concentrate
on the sound around you.
319. This is one
of your designated training days.
320. Number Seven!
321. - Your insolence is unacceptable!
322. I believe...
323. that will conclude your training
for the time being.
324. Vanya.
325. What do you hear?
326. I can hear the wind chimes
back at the cabin.
327. A squirrel racing up a tree.
328. The water. The water running in the creek.
329. Good.
Good.
330. Now...
331. try and do what you did last night
in the parking lot.
332. With the car engine.
333. Let all the other sounds drop away
334. and focus on one.
335. Let that one sound resonate in you.
336. Vanya, breathe. Vanya, breathe, breathe.
337. There you go. There.
338. I stopped it.
339. I stopped it!
340. Your ability is tied to your emotions.
341. What? How... How do you know?
342. Um... I'm just guessing.
343. Putting it together.
But it makes sense. Right?
344. Your brain
is constantly taking in stimuli.
345. And for you,
when you feel a strong emotion,
346. the sounds around you
are somehow converted into energy.
347. - Wh—
348. It's okay.
349. - We're okay.
350. We're more than okay.
351. Look.
352. Trying a little hair of the dog,
are we? Hm?
353. Leave me alone.
Give us a minute.
354. Okay. Come on.
Maybe they'll brood each other to death.
355. Look, Dad was wrong to lie to you.
To all of us.
356. Look, I did my time. All right?
357. Four years up there, watching and waiting
because he said the world needed me.
358. Four years of nothing but soy paste
and processed air
359. because I was naive enough to believe
that dads don't lie to their kids.
360. But guess what?
361. The joke's on me.
362. I'm done.
363. With all of it. With him. With you.
With this family.
364. You wanna save the world,
you go right ahead.
365. I'm fine to sit here
and finish my beer and...
366. get my... buzz on.
367. You want to turn your back on me,
368. the guys,
369. that's fine.
370. - But Allison deserves better than that.
- Allison? What are you talkin' about?
371. Well, we got ahold
of Harold Jenkins' police file.
372. Turns out Vanya's boyfriend
is a convicted murderer.
373. Who would've saw that coming?
374. A little hard to trust anyone
who wears corduroy.
375. Wait, so... where's Allison now?
376. She decided to go after Harold Jenkins.
377. Alone.
378. You should have led with that!
379. Jesus Christ.
380. Shit.
381. Dr. Hamilton,
please report to room 4Q.
382. Mr. Luntz?
383. - Mr. Luntz, can you hear me?
384. Who, um...
385. Who are you?
386. I'm Sergeant Cheddar, and this is...
387. This is my... associate.
388. - Just have a couple of questions for you.
- Am I in trouble?
389. No trouble, nothin' like that.
I just... I wanted to ask you
390. about the accident in the Bearskin Tavern
parking lot last night.
391. You're a cop.
392. You gotta protect me
no matter what, right?
393. It's my sworn duty.
394. It was no accident.
395. What do you mean?
396. This guy...
397. hired us to start a fight.
398. He wanted us to rough him up
in front of his girlfriend.
399. He paid real good, up front.
400. We got drunk.
401. Took it a little too far.
402. Started to hassle the girl, too.
403. And then, all hell broke loose.
404. The guy who paid you,
what did he look like?
405. Brown hair, light scruff, slight build?
406. Yeah. Yeah, that's him.
407. Well, that's a... a really good guess.
408. Is this the girlfriend?
409. Hey, uh... Just, um... Just a moment.
410. Hey, by any chance, is your movie called
411. Small Town Cop Falls
for Hollywood Superstar's Bullshit?
412. I am sorry for misleading you.
- I believe the word would be "lying."
413. I'm sorry I lied.
414. But I didn't know how else to get answers.
415. This is my sister.
416. And I think the guy that put him
in this hospital has her.
417. I have to find her.
418. I could get fired
for just bringing you down here with me.
419. Please. I think she's in trouble.
I need your help.
420. Answer the lady's question.
Is this the girlfriend?
421. Sorry,
but the doctor's ordered more tests.
422. You're gonna have to ask him
questions later.
423. Hey.
424. Where'd you go?
425. Nowhere.
426. Why?
427. Do you realize...
428. what you accomplished today?
429. You accessed a power
you just realized you had.
430. You controlled it
and you let it fade away safely.
431. Almost safely.
432. Vanya, I just hope you realize now,
433. that despite what your family
has said to you all these years,
434. is that you are special.
435. You know, what I really need to do
is practice.
436. Right.
Should we pick up where we left off?
437. No, the— the violin.
The concert's tomorrow.
438. Oh.
439. What?
440. We had a breakthrough today, Vanya.
441. This thing that's happening to you,
it's important.
442. So is my music.
443. Huh. Right.
444. You're right, of course.
445. Yeah, go practice.
446. This place looks nice.
Um...
447. Can I ask you a weird question?
448. Of course.
449. If you only had two days left to live,
450. where would you go?
451. Well, that's a tough one.
452. Um, can I re-materialize there instantly?
453. Or... am I limited
454. by the constraints
of modern-day air travel schedules
455. and earthly physics?
456. - That's a valid point.
457. Say you had a day to get there
and a day to live the day.
458. Where would it be?
459. Well, that's easy, silly.
460. I'd choose to be anywhere with you.
461. Do you need to rest
before we go see the birds at Wadsworth?
462. What's going on, Hazel?
463. I can't really explain it now,
464. but there's somethin'
I have to take care of before we can go.
465. You should go to the sanctuary without me.
466. Come on.
467. Hazel?
468. I— I don't wanna go without you.
469. - I'll be back for you tomorrow.
470. - I... I don't understand.
- You'll be safe here.
471. - Why are you doing this, Hazel?
- I can't tell you.
472. Agnes, I promise you,
no matter what, I will be back for you.
473. Come hell or high water.
474. You have to believe me.
475. I do believe you.
476. Hey, I'm feeling kinda hungry.
Did you throw away my sandwich?
477. Leonard?
478. Leonard?
479. Leonard?
480. Leonard?
481. Leonard!
482. Where are we?
483. I've made a secret place just for you.
484. None of your siblings get to play there.
485. Would you like to see it?
486. Following the events
of the previous weeks,
487. we're going to try something new,
Number Seven.
488. It was an accident.
489. I understand.
490. You need to remain
in a controlled environment.
491. More research is required
492. to determine whether your behavior
can be regulated.
493. Leonard! Leonard!
494. Vanya.
495. Relax.
496. Just concentrate.
497. Listen to everything around you.
498. What do you hear?
499. Let all the other sounds drop away
and focus on one.
500. Let that one sound resonate in you.
501. Hey, Dale?
- Yup?
Have you seen Mr. Luntz?
502. No, why?
503. I took him to X-ray,
and then he disappeared.
504. We... You better let security know.
I'll call it in.
505. Yeah.
- Oh, wait, one more thing.
506. Do you recognize this woman?
507. Mm. She left with Mr. Peabody
this morning.
508. Wait, this morning?
509. They must've been here
when I stopped by the cabin.
510. - Yeah.
- Maybe they went back there.
511. - I'm gonna go get my sister.
- Whoa, hold on.
512. We got a missing vic,
and this guy might be dangerous.
513. I need you to stay here.
514. Allison frickin' Hargreeves,
man, oh, man.
515. Vanya? Is that you?
516. Vanya, there you are. What is going on?
517. What are you doing here?
- I came to find you. Are you okay?
518. Yeah.
519. There's something... weird going on.
What's causing it?
520. Me.
521. What do you mean, "me"?
522. I mean... I made those things happen.
523. With my powers.
524. Turns out I've had them all this time.
525. It's weird, huh?
526. It's in— it's incredible.
527. But?
528. - Ca— Can we do this in the car?
- Why?
529. You're not gonna want to hear it.
530. Well, that's never stopped you before.
531. Leonard Peabody?
532. His real name is Harold Jenkins.
533. Remember when I couldn't find
anything in the library on Leonard?
534. It's because Leonard Peabody
doesn't exist.
535. Harold Jenkins does.
536. He was in prison for 12 years.
537. He murdered his father when he was 13.
538. This is... insane.
539. His dad was an engineer at the—
540. I have the police report in the car,
Vanya. I can show you.
541. I don't... I don't understand.
542. Leonard, Harold, I—
I know it doesn't make any sense,
543. and I know it sounds crazy,
but we were in his house.
544. He has pictures of all of us
with our eyes gouged out.
545. Wh— What? I—
546. I promise I will tell you everything
in the car, but it is not safe.
547. No, stop.
548. Look, um...
549. I can't imagine how hard it is for you
to hear this...
550. how you feel right now, but I...
551. I love you, and I—
552. I just... I wanna be here for you,
as your sister.
553. There's just no way.
554. I love him.
555. This just doesn't make any sense.
556. And this power... I—
557. I don't know.
I don't know what's going on.
558. I don't know what to do.
559. I understand now.
560. Go on.
561. Who's hungry?
562. I brought your favorite, grilled cheese.
563. When we were four,
564. Dad told us you were sick.
565. You had to be isolated.
566. We were so young.
567. None of us knew to question it.
568. Now...
569. you have to take your medicine
like a good girl.
570. It'll help calm your nerves.
571. It's time, Number Three.
572. But then he asked me to do something
I never understood...
573. until now.
574. Do it.
575. - I heard a rumor...
- [Allison, echoing] I heard a rumor...
576. - ... you think you're just ordinary.
- ... you think you're just ordinary.
577. He made me an accomplice.
578. You did this to me?
579. I...
580. - I... I didn't realize.
- You knew this whole time?
581. That I had powers?
582. No, no! I didn't really understand
until I came today, until I saw it.
583. Well, now it all makes sense.
This is why you never wanted me around.
584. What? No!
585. You couldn't risk me threatening
your place in the house,
586. - your— your dominance.
- That is not true.
587. You couldn't handle the fact
that Dad might find me special.
588. - You are special, with or without powers.
- Don't— Don't say that!
589. We have a chance to start over.
590. You destroyed my life!
591. Oh, please, Vanya.
592. Everything is out in the open.
We can move on!
593. Oh, I'm moving on.
But not with you, with Leonard.
594. - With Harold, you mean.
- With Leonard!
595. The only person
who has ever loved me for me.
596. Look me in the eye
and tell me you're not threatened now.
597. - I don't wanna argue with you.
- Then go!
598. - Uh—
599. - I'm only trying to help you.
- I don't want your help!
600. - Vanya, I love you!
- Stop saying that!
601. Are you...
602. Are you okay?
603. I said go!
604. Please don't make me do this.
605. - I heard a rumor...
606. Allison!
607. No! No!
608. - Allison!
609. Oh! Allison!
610. - Vanya, wait—
- Allison!
611. I didn't mean to...
612. I didn't... I didn't mean to.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
613. - I...
- You did what you had to.
614. Vanya.
Vanya!
615. - We have to go!
- No!
616. - I can't just leave her!
- We have to go now!
617. Oh, no, no...
- Vanya, come on!
618. No, no, no, no, no!
619. - Now!
620. Hey. Can you go any faster?
621. Ask me again, and I'll burn you
with the cigarette lighter.
