23. except you and me
and the man in the moon.Copy !req
24. You're a right high-spirited man
to have walked to town and back.Copy !req
25. Well, i went for
a right high-
spirited reason.Copy !req
26. Now close your eyes.
I got something for you.Copy !req
27. You can open them now.Copy !req
28. It's the prettiest thing
i ever did see!Copy !req
29. Oh, billy!Copy !req
30. I'm proud enough to cry.Copy !req
31. I love you...
with all my enduring life.Copy !req
32. And i the
same for you.Copy !req
33. Can i show it
to everybody?Copy !req
34. If that'd bring

36. Folks.Copy !req

to follow.Copy !req
45. And this barn is heavy

one of the reasonsCopy !req
48. we're celebrating
here tonight.Copy !req

has come to meCopy !req
50. and asked for the hand
of my daughter, ellwyn,Copy !req
51. and she hasCopy !req
52. my endearing loveCopy !req
53. and my blessing
to marry...Copy !req

58. Going home early,
i reckon.Copy !req
59. Why don't you go seeCopy !req
60. if you can't talk
her into coming back?Copy !req
61. She'll come back
if she's of a mind to.Copy !req
62. Well, evening's
young yet.Copy !req
63. It'd spoil my party
if folks leave early.Copy !req
64. Well, l-i...
go on ahead,
honey.Copy !req
65. Go on.Copy !req
66. Jess-belle.Copy !req
67. Don't you
come near me.Copy !req
68. I thought you might want
to wish us well, jess.Copy !req
69. You'll have nothing from me.Copy !req
70. No need for you to take on so.Copy !req
71. What'd you want me to do?Copy !req
72. Run in there,
throw my arms around her,Copy !req
73. tell her how glad i am?Copy !req
74. Jess, i'm sorry.Copy !req

81. and we fell
together...Copy !req
82. and you touched me?Copy !req
83. The fire in me burned
as hot as the white sun.Copy !req
84. The fire's turned
to ashes now, jess.Copy !req
85. It still
burns- here.Copy !req
86. But it's different
with ellwyn and me.Copy !req
87. Pretty clothes
and her daddy's land?Copy !req
88. Is that the difference,
billy-ben?Copy !req
89. No. No, that's not
the difference.Copy !req
90. I... i love her
in a... quiet way.Copy !req
91. You know, it...Copy !req
92. i don't want to hear.Copy !req
93. Billy-ben.Copy !req
94. Tell your love a thing from me,
will you?Copy !req
95. What's that?Copy !req
96. Tell her not to start making
her wedding dress right yet.Copy !req
97. Why should i tell her
a thing like that?Copy !req
98. She ain't married you yet,
billy-ben.Copy !req
99. Maybe she never will.Copy !req
100. The twilight zone has existed
in many lands, in many times.Copy !req
101. It has roots in history,Copy !req
102. in something that happened
long, long ago,Copy !req
103. and got told aboutCopy !req
104. and handed down from one
generation of folk to the other.Copy !req
105. In the telling, the story gets
added to and embroidered onCopy !req
106. so that what might have happened
in the time of the druidsCopy !req
107. is told as if it took place
yesterdayCopy !req
108. in the blue ridge mountains.Copy !req
109. Such stories are best told
by an elderly grandfatherCopy !req
110. on a cold winter's night
by the fireside...Copy !req
111. in the southern hills
of the twilight zone.Copy !req
112. Granny hart?Copy !req
113. Well, what you bothering
an old woman forCopy !req
114. this time of night?Copy !req
115. I got to talk to you.Copy !req
116. Well, sit down.Copy !req
117. Folks say you
got a power.Copy !req
118. Oh, folks say
a lot of things.Copy !req
119. They say mose crowley's
cow sickened and diedCopy !req
120. when he shot that
hawk you used to keep.Copy !req
121. Well, that hawk
was my pet.Copy !req
122. He used to roost
in that big black pineCopy !req
123. right outside the door.Copy !req
124. When molly unger's
baby was a-dyin'
of a fever,Copy !req
125. she went somewhere and
got a potion for him.Copy !req
126. Folks say she
came here.Copy !req
127. She did.Copy !req
128. And that little baby lived,
didn't he?Copy !req
129. Lived?Copy !req
130. But he's accursed with fits.Copy !req
131. Oh.Copy !req
132. His mama won't let
him out of the house.Copy !req
133. What else do they say about me?Copy !req
134. They say you're a witch.Copy !req
135. Oh, sugar,
if i was a witch,Copy !req
136. i'd be out riding around
on my broomCopy !req
137. instead of sitting
'round here alone,Copy !req
138. minding my own business.Copy !req
139. Whatever you are...
will you help me?Copy !req
140. Well, it depends, sugar.Copy !req
141. I want to win
a man's love.Copy !req
142. Well... womankind, jess,Copy !req
143. got her own kind
of witchcraft for that.Copy !req
144. He was mine for a while.Copy !req
145. Came sneaking off at night,Copy !req
146. kept a-quiet what went on
between him and me.Copy !req
147. Never took me anyplace
for the world to know.Copy !req
148. He made me promises.Copy !req
149. He made them when his face
was hot as blood.Copy !req
150. Forgot them as soon as he was
ten feet from my door.Copy !req
151. Honey...Copy !req
152. you don't know much
about men, do you?Copy !req
153. Only him.Copy !req
154. What man?Copy !req
155. Billy-ben turner.Copy !req
156. Oh, he is a pretty oneCopy !req
157. with nice, big, strong arms
to hold a gal.Copy !req
158. Can you make him
love me the way he
did a long time ago,Copy !req
159. when a night wouldn't
pass but what he had
to come to see me?Copy !req
160. How much money
did you bring me?Copy !req
161. I don't have
any money.Copy !req
162. Well, how did
you expect to pay me?Copy !req
163. I'll give you my
pearl hairpin.Copy !req
164. It's a real pearl,Copy !req
165. brought back
from overseasCopy !req
166. by my daddy in
one of the wars,Copy !req
167. and the stick's
real silver.Copy !req
168. Take it
out of my sight.Copy !req
169. Is that all you got
to offer me?Copy !req
170. That's everything
on earth i own,Copy !req
171. except the clothes
on my back.Copy !req
172. Well, honey,
you better run along homeCopy !req
173. and live your life
without billy-ben turner.Copy !req
174. I don't have any
life without him.Copy !req
175. You got to help me.Copy !req
176. Well, i got something
i could give you, but...Copy !req
177. the price is high.Copy !req
178. What is the price?Copy !req
179. You'll know
in the midnight hour of time.Copy !req
180. Whatever it is, i'll pay.Copy !req
181. Drink.Copy !req
182. Does he love me now?Copy !req
183. After his eyes fall next on you,Copy !req
184. he'll never look
at another womanCopy !req
185. as long as he can look
at you.Copy !req
186. I never
in my life...Copy !req
187. what come
over that boy?Copy !req
188. Whatever it was,
he'll answer
to me for it.Copy !req
189. It's a shame
and a disgrace.Copy !req
190. If billy-ben expects you
to marry him after this,Copy !req
191. he'll have
to think again.Copy !req
192. He won't be marrying me.Copy !req
193. Well, i'm glad to see
you got spirit, child.Copy !req
194. I'd still have him
if i could.Copy !req
195. If he were to come back
in here this very minute,Copy !req
196. i'd just go running
to him.Copy !req
197. I'd not allow you
to shame yourself
like that.Copy !req
198. He won't be back.Copy !req
199. I won't even get
the chance.Copy !req
200. Jess-belle bewitched him.Copy !req
201. You're enough
to drive a man crazy.Copy !req
202. You're sure a master
hand with the sweet
words, billy-ben.Copy !req
203. When we're married,Copy !req
204. it'll be a hateful thing
to leave you in the morning.Copy !req
205. I won't let you leave.Copy !req
206. Going to lock
the doorCopy !req
207. and keep you
home all day.Copy !req
208. How'll we live
if i don't work my land?Copy !req
209. When you're
in the fields,Copy !req
210. i'll hide behind
a juniper tree,Copy !req
211. sing songs to tease
you home again.Copy !req
212. And where will
the money come fromCopy !req
213. for the pretties
i'll buy you?Copy !req
214. What will
you buy me?Copy !req
215. I don't know,
maybe dresses of silkCopy !req
216. and combs
for your hair.Copy !req
217. Looks like the
moon's going down.Copy !req
218. I better go.Copy !req
219. I won't let you.Copy !req
220. I'm going to keep you here
all night.Copy !req
221. I can't.
Why not?Copy !req
222. Mama's home, and
she's waiting for me.Copy !req
223. Why, you never worried
about mama before.Copy !req
224. Let go of me,
billy-ben.Copy !req
225. I want you to stay here
with me.Copy !req
226. Billy-ben,
let go of me!Copy !req
227. Sorry.Copy !req
228. It don't matter.Copy !req
229. Nothing can change
the love i hold for you.Copy !req
230. Then take me home.Copy !req
231. Good night.Copy !req
232. Just one more kiss.Copy !req
233. No.Copy !req
234. Who's that
brought you home?Copy !req
235. Oh, jess-belle,
don't go right to bed.Copy !req
236. Come sit a spellCopy !req
237. and tell me
about the dance.Copy !req
238. Jess-belle, don't...Copy !req
239. Well, i didn't mean
to frighten you.Copy !req
240. Hold out your hand.Copy !req
241. I got something
for you.Copy !req
242. Elly's ring.Copy !req
243. Jess-belle's ring.Copy !req
244. It belongs to
the one i love,Copy !req
245. and the one i
love is you.Copy !req
246. Every minute i'm
away from youCopy !req
247. is a suffering
and a torment.Copy !req
248. Suffering and torment.Copy !req
249. You know what suffering
and torment means?Copy !req
250. Sure.Copy !req
251. It's having a girl that
your heart's cravingCopy !req
252. and have her
keep putting the
wedding day off.Copy !req
253. All kinds of torment
in the world, i reckon.Copy !req
254. What would you know
of torment, girl?Copy !req
255. There's a torment comes
from buying somethingCopy !req
256. and finding out
the price is dear.Copy !req
257. What did you buy
that cost so dear?Copy !req
258. Something i love.Copy !req
259. Do you still love
it, though the
price was high?Copy !req
260. Better than life.Copy !req
261. Better than me?Copy !req
262. Ain't nothing i love
better than you.Copy !req
263. I went to see
the preacher today, jess.Copy !req
264. What'd you want with him?Copy !req
265. Well, you wouldn't set the date,
so i went ahead and set it.Copy !req
266. He's going to marry
us come next sunday.Copy !req
267. I can't be ready by then.Copy !req
268. Why not?Copy !req
269. I talked to
your mama.Copy !req
270. She said your
wedding dress
will be sewed.Copy !req
271. And my house is clean.Copy !req
272. Everything new
and waiting for you.Copy !req
273. You haven't changed your mind,
have you, jess?Copy !req
274. No.Copy !req
275. Then why do you keep putting off
the wedding date?Copy !req
276. I can't tell you, billy-ben.Copy !req
277. Shouldn't be any secrets
between us.Copy !req
278. I'm going away from you
for a while.Copy !req
279. I'll give you my word
when i come back.Copy !req
280. Oh, stay now, jess.Copy !req
281. I got a craving
to be with you
every minute.Copy !req
282. Let go of me, billy.
I never knew a manCopy !req
283. could have such a love
as i hold for you.Copy !req
284. There's no peace from it.Copy !req
285. It burns night
and day.Copy !req
286. I got a terrible
yearning.Copy !req
287. Didn't you hear me knocking?Copy !req
288. I never let trouble in the door
if i can help it.Copy !req
289. How you know i'm trouble?Copy !req
290. Why, child,
there ain't much i don't know.Copy !req
291. Well, then if
you know so much,Copy !req
292. maybe you can help me.Copy !req
293. Well, i already helped
you once.Copy !req
294. You want to change
your mindCopy !req
295. now that you got
what you wanted?Copy !req
296. I haven't got
what i want.Copy !req
297. Oh, don't tell meCopy !req
298. you haven't got the love
of billy-ben turner.Copy !req
299. I got his love,
all right,Copy !req
300. but i can't take it
for fear he'd findCopy !req
301. the price i
paid for it.Copy !req
302. I tried to find pity
for him and for me,Copy !req
303. but i can't.Copy !req
304. It's like my heart's
been cut outCopy !req
305. and stone put where
the heart was.Copy !req
306. Oh, that ain't
your heart, honey.Copy !req
307. What then?Copy !req
308. Oh, there's lots
of names for it-Copy !req
309. some folks
calls it "soul."Copy !req
310. That was in the
bargain, too?Copy !req
311. Oh, that's always
in the bargainCopy !req
312. if you barter...Copy !req
313. with witches.Copy !req
314. You said you
weren't a witch.Copy !req
315. You said you
just had power!Copy !req
316. You might as well know
the truth, honey,Copy !req
317. now that you're one, too.Copy !req
318. I changed you.Copy !req
319. Well, then change me back.Copy !req
320. Let me be a woman again.Copy !req
321. Oh, you can't never change.Copy !req
322. What you are,
you're gonna be till you die.Copy !req
323. Then i hope i die soon.Copy !req
324. Well, you're looking
at it all wrong.Copy !req
325. Be a witch.
Take a witch's pleasure.Copy !req
326. Take the man you bargained for.Copy !req
327. Don't you think i want to?Copy !req
328. How long do you think
i'd keep himCopy !req
329. if he finds out what happens
when the clock strikes 12:00?Copy !req
330. That's worst of all-Copy !req
331. not knowing
what i'm going to do,Copy !req
332. waking and not
knowing what
i've done.Copy !req
333. Change me back.Copy !req
334. Please, i'll pay.
I promise i'll pay.Copy !req
335. Well, your promises
ain't much good.Copy !req
336. You're already trying
to get out of payingCopy !req
337. for the first favor i done you.Copy !req
338. I can't live this way.Copy !req
339. Please!Copy !req
340. Take the man you bargained for.Copy !req
341. Give him a witch's love.Copy !req
342. I can't do that to billy-ben.Copy !req
343. You paid the price.Copy !req
344. Take what you paid for.Copy !req
345. I can't do thatCopy !req
346. to billy-ben!Copy !req
347. Billy-ben.Copy !req
348. Oh, jess.Copy !req
349. I've been out
of my mind.Copy !req
350. I searched this whole
county over for you.Copy !req
351. Cursed myself every
step of the wayCopy !req
352. for upsetting you
the way i did today.Copy !req
353. Jess, you hellcat,
where you been?Copy !req
354. I went away... to think.Copy !req
355. And did you
think of me?Copy !req
356. You were all
i thought about.Copy !req
357. And did you think
of me with love?Copy !req
358. Yes, billy.Copy !req
359. Jess... i won't
crowd youCopy !req
360. on the wedding
day again.Copy !req
361. Now, whatever's
been troubling you,Copy !req
362. you don't even
have to tell me.Copy !req
363. You just settle itCopy !req
364. and you can set
your own dayCopy !req
365. for the wedding.Copy !req
366. There will be no wedding,
billy-ben.Copy !req
367. Oh, j-jess, don't say
a thing like that.Copy !req
368. There will be no wedding.Copy !req
369. No wedding
between you and me.Copy !req
370. I'd as soon hear
my death bell as
what you're saying.Copy !req
371. I'd as soon hear
my own death bell as say it.Copy !req
372. Then forget
it was said.Copy !req
373. Oh, i love you, jess,Copy !req
374. and i want you
to be my wife.Copy !req
375. That's all i know.Copy !req
376. You would not want me
for long.Copy !req
377. One night, you'd turn
away from me.Copy !req
378. Oh, curse me
for a foolCopy !req
379. if that day
would ever come.Copy !req
380. I set you free
from any promise, billy.Copy !req
381. Take this.Copy !req
382. No, it...Copy !req
383. this belongs here.Copy !req
384. You hear that?Copy !req
385. It's a night bird
calling its mate.Copy !req
386. His mate won't come.Copy !req
387. I saw her on the trail tonight
winging up against the sky.Copy !req
388. The nighthawks swooped up
out of the pinesCopy !req
389. and tore her breast open.Copy !req
390. She fell at my feetCopy !req
391. and ran off
in the bushes to die.Copy !req
392. It was just an omen, jess.Copy !req
393. It don't mean
you're going to die.Copy !req
394. Billy-ben...Copy !req
395. if old man death came
walking down eagle rock trail,Copy !req
396. i'd run to meet him...Copy !req
397. and i'd beg him on my knees
to take me with him.Copy !req
398. Jess, what's cursing you?Copy !req
399. I got a right
to know.Copy !req
400. It's late.Copy !req
401. I got to go!Copy !req
402. Wait, jess.Copy !req
403. Billy-ben, if you
love me, stand aside!Copy !req
404. Jess?Copy !req
405. Jess-belle?Copy !req
406. Jess?Copy !req
407. Twilight zonewill continue
after station identification.Copy !req
408. Take the man you bargained for.Copy !req
409. Give him a witch's love.Copy !req
410. Nothing can change you, sugar.Copy !req
411. Witch you are,Copy !req
412. and witch you'll always be.Copy !req
413. You've paid the price.Copy !req
414. Take what you've paid for.Copy !req
415. Take what
you've paid for.Copy !req
416. Take what you've paid for.Copy !req
417. Billy-ben?Copy !req
418. Billy-ben?Copy !req
419. Jess.Copy !req
420. Jess, what's the matter?Copy !req
421. Now, why has something
got to be the matter?Copy !req
422. I just wanted to see you.Copy !req
423. I never saw
such a night.Copy !req
424. The animals kept moving around

and billy-ben, and all the men.Copy !req
475. Billy-ben never said nothing

477. I reckon that catCopy !req
478. better stay home tonight
if it's smart.Copy !req
479. I reckon.Copy !req
480. What's the matter
with you tonight, jess?Copy !req
481. You just as nervous
as a fox in a forest fire.Copy !req
482. You gonna take all night
with that hem, mama?Copy !req
483. You never would've had
such a fine dressCopy !req
484. without billy-ben havin'
given me the money.Copy !req
485. You know that, don't you?Copy !req
486. Saw old elly glover today.Copy !req
487. She was picking wildflowers
up on the mountain.Copy !req
488. How'd she look?Copy !req
489. Looked sickly,
like she might die soon.Copy !req
490. I didn't even know

491. Looked terrible.Copy !req
492. There, now you

504. Is that what made
billy-ben turner blindCopy !req
505. to every other woman on
earth save jess-belle?Copy !req
506. Where would i get
the moneyCopy !req
507. for potions and powders?Copy !req
508. That old woman don't

509. That's what makes my
heart turn cold as ice.Copy !req
510. Jess, how did
you pay her?Copy !req
511. Oh, god, jess, how
did you pay her?Copy !req
512. With my flesh
and my blood...Copy !req
513. and my soul...Copy !req
514. and my brain...Copy !req
515. and my sleep...Copy !req
516. and my hands...Copy !req

524. I'll think of a way
to help you.Copy !req
525. You can do one thingCopy !req
526. if you want to see me alive
in the morning.Copy !req
527. Bolt my door
when i go to bed tonight.Copy !req
528. No matter what happens,Copy !req
529. don't open that door

540. Elly!Copy !req
541. Elly.Copy !req
542. I ain't ever seen no cat
with spots like that.Copy !req
543. A witch.Copy !req
544. That cat was a witch.Copy !req
545. Well...Copy !req
546. our work is done
for this night.Copy !req
547. Come on, elly.Copy !req
548. Come on.Copy !req
549. What ails you, billy-ben?Copy !req
550. Nothing.Copy !req
551. I'm all right.Copy !req
552. I'm enduring glad
to see you, elly.Copy !req
553. Well...Copy !req
554. good to see you,
too, billy.Copy !req
555. It's been a long spell.Copy !req
556. I'd appreciate it
if you'd let me comeCopy !req
557. and sit up with you
some night soon.Copy !req
558. Well...Copy !req
559. that'd be right fine.Copy !req
560. Come anytime you want.Copy !req
561. Well, miss ossie.Copy !req
562. Billy-ben.Copy !req
563. Won't you come on in?Copy !req
564. Oh, well, i won't stay
but just a minute.Copy !req
565. I... i just wanted
to wish youCopy !req
566. all the happiness
in the worldCopy !req
567. on your wedding day.Copy !req
568. Oh, now, i
appreciate that.Copy !req
569. But aren't you coming
to the wedding?Copy !req
570. Oh, well, i wouldn't spoil
the day for elly.Copy !req
571. She'd see me
and think of jess-belle.Copy !req
572. There's no shadow
of jess-belleCopy !req
573. between elly and me.Copy !req
574. God grant
there never will be.Copy !req
575. Uh, i was just
having some coffee.Copy !req
576. Won't you sit down?Copy !req
577. It's been a
full year nowCopy !req
578. since jess-belle's
been dead.Copy !req
579. How do you know
she's dead, billy-ben?Copy !req
580. I saw her die.Copy !req
581. Now, don't ask me
to tell you any
more than that.Copy !req
582. I brought you somethingCopy !req
583. i thought you ought
to have, billy-ben.Copy !req
584. It used to belong
to jess-belle.Copy !req
585. Poor jess.Copy !req
586. I appreciate
it, miss ossie.Copy !req
587. I brought it
for a special reason.Copy !req
588. It's made of silver,Copy !req
589. and silver is one thing
a witch is scared of.Copy !req
590. What witch would
want to harm elly?Copy !req
591. I've got a terrible thing
to tell you, billy-Copy !req
592. A secret about jess-belle.Copy !req
593. I know a secret
about jess-belle myself.Copy !req
594. The same night
that she disappeared, we talked,Copy !req
595. and not meaning to, she...
she mentioned granny hart.Copy !req
596. And then i found out something
i'd sooner be dead than know.Copy !req
597. Jess-belle was witched.Copy !req
598. I didn't know it myself till...Copy !req
599. that night she died.Copy !req
600. She ain't dead, billy-ben.Copy !req
601. But i was there.Copy !req
602. I fired one of the shots myself.Copy !req
603. I've spent many
a restless nightCopy !req
604. grieving about that.Copy !req
605. Billy-ben...Copy !req
606. some months back,Copy !req
607. i went into
jess-belle's room...Copy !req
608. and there
on jess-belle's pillowCopy !req
609. was a wart toad sitting.Copy !req
610. Now, l-i grabbed a broomCopy !req
611. and i brought that downCopy !req
612. with all my might
on that ugly thing...Copy !req
613. and it just disappeared
in a cloud of smokeCopy !req
614. and went floating out
through the window.Copy !req
615. Well, may-maybe it was
just a cloud of dust,Copy !req
616. and-and the toad, uh,
fall onto the floor.Copy !req
617. No, it was the spirit
of jess-belle.Copy !req
618. Miss ossie, now, i saw her die.Copy !req
619. Billy-ben, don't you know
you can't kill a witch?Copy !req
620. They just change
to something else!Copy !req
621. But if a person's good
and strong,Copy !req
622. a witch can't harm them,
i've heard.Copy !req
623. It's said.Copy !req
624. Well, then... elly has nothing
to fear from jess-belle.Copy !req
625. I'm sorry, miss ossie,
but i got to hurry.Copy !req
626. I'm going to be late
for my own wedding.Copy !req
627. I hope and pray there won't be
nobody there who...Copy !req
628. who wasn't invited.Copy !req
629. To have and
to holdCopy !req
630. from this
day forward.Copy !req
631. To have and to hold
from this day forward.Copy !req
632. For better, for worse;
for richer, for poorer.Copy !req
633. For better, for worse...Copy !req
634. for richer, for poorer.Copy !req
635. In sickness
and in health.Copy !req
636. In sicknessCopy !req
637. and in health.Copy !req
638. To love and
to cherishCopy !req
639. till death
us do part.Copy !req
640. To loveCopy !req
641. and to cherish
until deathCopy !req
642. us do part.Copy !req
643. AccordingCopy !req
644. to god's holy
ordinance,Copy !req
645. i thereto plight
thee my troth.Copy !req
646. According to god's
holy ordinance,Copy !req
647. i thereto plight thee my troth.Copy !req
648. Join hands.Copy !req
649. Those whom god hath joined
together,Copy !req
650. let no man put asunder.Copy !req
651. I now pronounce you
man and wife.Copy !req
652. Aren't you forgetting
something?Copy !req
653. Well, not to
my knowing.Copy !req
654. Oh, there you go.Copy !req
655. You know you're acting
like a husband already?Copy !req
656. Are you going
to let your bride walkCopy !req
657. across your threshold?Copy !req
658. Welcome home, darling.Copy !req
659. Thank you, billy-ben.Copy !req
660. There's no knowing
how happy i am.Copy !req
661. This day has brought meCopy !req
662. the happiest, happiest
moments of my life.Copy !req
663. Billy-ben?Copy !req
664. Something has hold of my arm!Copy !req
665. I don't see nothing.Copy !req
666. Let go!Copy !req
667. What's come over you?Copy !req
668. I... i never
did that, billy.Copy !req
669. Not of my own will.Copy !req
670. Something took hold
of me.Copy !req
671. Well, i saw nothing.Copy !req
672. There's something
here, billy-Copy !req
673. something we can't hear
nor see,Copy !req
674. but i can feel it.Copy !req
675. Something... evil.Copy !req
676. Something... cold.Copy !req
677. Take me home, billy!Copy !req
678. Elly, you are home.Copy !req
679. But something
don't want me here!Copy !req
680. I know what it
is that's trying
to chase you out.Copy !req
681. But, elly... elly!Copy !req
682. You will stay,
you hear?Copy !req
683. You will stay.Copy !req
684. Now, i've got to go
away from youCopy !req
685. for a little, short time.Copy !req
686. Do you trust
in the lord?Copy !req
687. Yes.Copy !req
688. Well, then hold his word
in your hand...Copy !req
689. and his word'll protect you.Copy !req
690. But if the devil himself
should come into this room,Copy !req
691. do not leave
that chair.Copy !req
692. The door's open.Copy !req
693. Granny hart?Copy !req
694. I'm just curling
my hairCopy !req
695. so's i look pretty
for you, billy-ben.Copy !req
696. Granny, i... i'm short on time.Copy !req
697. Ain't i a beauty?Copy !req
698. How'd you like me
for a sweetheart?Copy !req
699. I already got a sweetheart,
and i just made her my bride.Copy !req
700. Elly glover...Copy !req
701. of the golden hair?Copy !req
702. She's a beauty, too.Copy !req
703. Well, i'll not have
her beauty longCopy !req
704. unless you help me
rid myself of a witch.Copy !req
705. Jess-belle don't like
you being married, do she?Copy !req
706. Your jess-belle,
all right.Copy !req
707. Oh, i know.Copy !req
708. I witched that gal
so she could win your love.Copy !req
709. I never wanted
no witch's love.Copy !req
710. Humans don't know nothing
about loving.Copy !req
711. Well, i know
enough, if...Copy !req
712. anything happens
to elly,Copy !req
713. i couldn't
go on living.Copy !req
714. Oh, jess-belle
ain't going to hurtCopy !req
715. your little bride.Copy !req
716. She's just teasing
and having a good time.Copy !req
717. Granny, i left
my wife alone.Copy !req
718. Now, i got to
get back to her!Copy !req
719. Nothing is holding
you here, boy.Copy !req
720. You got to tell me
how to rid myself
of jess-belle.Copy !req
721. Well, i don't
hardly know no way...Copy !req
722. unless'n you kill her.Copy !req
723. You can't kill her.Copy !req
724. All she does is go
up in a puff of smokeCopy !req
725. and then she comes
right back again!Copy !req
726. There's ways.Copy !req
727. Well, tell me.Copy !req
728. How you gonna
to pay me?Copy !req
729. Well, what do you want?Copy !req
730. A lock of your hair.Copy !req
731. You'll not trick
me like that!Copy !req
732. It takes lots of moneyCopy !req
733. to learn how to kill
a witch.Copy !req
734. You go home...Copy !req
735. make a figure
of jess-belle.Copy !req
736. Then put on it clothes
that jess-belle has worn.Copy !req
737. Then, if you have
the courage,Copy !req
738. stab it through the heart
with silver.Copy !req
739. It's got to be
a dress she wore.Copy !req
740. She wore it... once.Copy !req
741. And billy-ben...Copy !req
742. when the time comes,
if your hand fails you,Copy !req
743. remember there
was a good part
to jess-belle,Copy !req
744. and that part of
her would bless youCopy !req
745. for ending what
she's now become.Copy !req
746. I told you to stay in the house.
You all right, elly?Copy !req
747. That thing you felt in our house
was the spirit of jess-belle.Copy !req
748. She was a witch.Copy !req
749. But i know
how to get rid of witches.Copy !req
750. You'll never be rid
of me, billy-ben.Copy !req
751. Jess-belle.Copy !req
752. Come on, billy-ben...Copy !req
753. dance with me...Copy !req
754. in the moonlight.Copy !req
755. Elly.Copy !req
756. Elly!Copy !req
757. May hell swallow me up
if i've killed you, too.Copy !req
758. Billy-ben?Copy !req
759. You just rest
a minute.Copy !req
760. What are we doing here
like this?Copy !req
761. Don't you remember?Copy !req
762. I remember a wedding.Copy !req
763. Did i dream that?Copy !req
764. No.Copy !req
765. You're my pretty
little bride.Copy !req
766. Well, then...Copy !req
767. i should be cooking you
some supper.Copy !req
768. Billy-ben, look!Copy !req
769. My mama says when you see
a falling star,Copy !req
770. that means a witch
has just died.Copy !req
771. So i've heard tell.Copy !req
772. Next ontwilight zone,Copy !req
773. a most unusual program
called "miniature."Copy !req
774. The very eminent
charles beaumont takes usCopy !req
775. into a brand-new realm
of science fiction and fantasyCopy !req
776. that is at the same time
intriguingCopy !req
777. and strangely believable.Copy !req
778. Uh, e-excuse me.Copy !req
779. Oh, yes, sir?Copy !req
780. I guess this
may sound silly,Copy !req
781. but how did they
manage that?Copy !req
782. How do they manage what?Copy !req
783. In there, in
the glass case?Copy !req
784. Oh. Well, i couldn't say
exactly.Copy !req
785. According
to the museum officials,Copy !req
786. the girl.Copy !req
787. Have you seen her?Copy !req
788. Yes.Copy !req
789. W-well, is-is she all right?Copy !req
790. L-l-i've been worried sick.Copy !req
791. Be careful.Copy !req
