7. You're looking at the house of the late mrs. Henrietta walker.

8. This is mrs. Walker herself, as she appeared 25 years ago.

9. And this, except for isolated objects,

10. is the living room of mrs. Walker's house

11. as it appeared in that same year.

12. The other rooms upstairs and down are much the same.

13. The time, however, is not 25 years ago, but now.

14. The house of the late mrs. Henrietta walker is,

15. you see, a house which belongs almost entirely to the past;

16. a house which, like mrs. Walker's clock here,

17. has ceased to recognize the passage of time.

18. Only one element is missing now-

19. one remaining item in the estate of the late mrs.

20. Her son alex, 34 years of age, and up till 20 minutes ago,

21. the so-called perennial bachelor.

22. With him is his bride, the former miss virginia lane.

23. They're returning from the city hall

24. in order to get mr. Walker's clothes packed,

25. make final arrangements for the sale of the house,

26. lock it up and depart on their honeymoon.

27. Not a complicated set of tasks, it would appear,

28. and yet the newlywed mrs. Walker is about to discover

29. that the old adage "you can't go home again"

30. has little meaning in the twilight zone.
