1. Hi, welcome back. Certainly glad you
could join us today.
Copy !req
2. It's a fantastic day here, and I hope it
is wherever you're at.
Copy !req
3. So I'll tell you what, let's start out and
have them run all the colors across the
Copy !req
4. screen that you need to paint along with
us while they're doing that.
Copy !req
5. Let me show you what I've got up here
today.
Copy !req
6. I thought today we'd do one of our little
ovals.
Copy !req
7. This is just contact paper with an oval
cut out of it and stuck on a canvas.
Copy !req
8. Then I've covered the inside with a thin, even
coat of liquid white so it's all slick and
Copy !req
9. wet and ready to go, so that's exactly
what we'll do.
Copy !req
10. We'll just take off here with the old two
inch brush and let's start the day with a
Copy !req
11. small amount of the phthalo blue.
Copy !req
12. Little phthalo blue, maybe I'll get a
little black right there, little phthalo
Copy !req
13. blue and black, and the least little touch
of phthalo green.
Copy !req
14. Least little touch, I just wanna sparkle
the color up a little.
Copy !req
15. As I say, it's a fantastic day here, so I
thought we'd do a little painting that
Copy !req
16. would just make you happy.
Copy !req
17. Just will make you happy.
Copy !req
18. We'll put a little bit of blue in here
like this.
Copy !req
19. And that little touch of green in there
will just make it sparkle.
Copy !req
20. There.
Copy !req
21. I'm gonna leave a little place open here
in the center.
Copy !req
22. Just a little one open.
Copy !req
23. I'll show you why here in just a second.
Copy !req
24. Something like so.
Copy !req
25. Okay, while I have that color going, maybe
we'll have a little water in there.
Copy !req
26. You know me, I love water, so we'll use
the same colors.
Copy !req
27. phthalo blue, a little midnight black, and
a touch of phthalo green.
Copy !req
28. You can have a little more in the water if
you want to than in the sky.
Copy !req
29. Be careful with it in the sky though.
Copy !req
30. And we'll just pull across and put the
indication of a little water down here.
Copy !req
31. We're not too worried about it right now
because anything that we don't want to be
Copy !req
32. water, shoot, we'll just plant a tree
on it or whatever happens to be there.
Copy !req
33. There.
Copy !req
34. Okay.
Copy !req
35. Now then, let me wash the old brush.
Copy !req
36. That's the fun part of this whole
technique, is just washing the brush.
Copy !req
37. It's a good way to get even with anybody
that's been hassling you in the last few
Copy !req
38. days.
Copy !req
39. There.
Copy !req
40. See what I mean?
Copy !req
41. There we go.
Copy !req
42. I may take just a little touch, a little
tiny touch of the Indian yellow.
Copy !req
43. I don't want much, just a little tiny bit.
Copy !req
44. A little cad yellow too, I'm gonna mix
them together.
Copy !req
45. So I get sort of a semi-transparent yellow.
Copy !req
46. Semi-transparent, that's almost
transparent, but not much color.
Copy !req
47. And I want to add the least little touch
right up in here, like there's a little
Copy !req
48. sunlight playing through there.
Copy !req
49. Just a little.
Copy !req
50. Now be very careful when you do this, because
too much of this against that blue will
Copy !req
51. turn bright green.
Copy !req
52. Put a little down here in the water too, what
the heck.
Copy !req
53. Just let it sort of go right across there.
Copy !req
54. Now then, one more time, clean the old
brush.
Copy !req
55. Actually, I just like to clean the brush.
Copy !req
56. Good and dry.
Copy !req
57. And then very gently, just gonna blend
this together.
Copy !req
58. But there's very little,
Copy !req
59. Just want a little tiny glow there.
Copy !req
60. I don't want a lot of color, just a little.
Copy !req
61. And down here, the same thing.
Copy !req
62. All right.
Copy !req
63. There.
Copy !req
64. I just beat the brush to knock off any
excess paint.
Copy !req
65. That way we don't have to clean it again.
Copy !req
66. In layman terms, that's known as laziness.
Copy !req
67. Just plain laziness.
Copy !req
68. Let's take a little bit of our midnight
black with a little tiny amount of the
Copy !req
69. Prussian blue in it.
Copy !req
70. Maybe, be right back, a little bit of that
little alizarin crimson in there too.
Copy !req
71. So we got black, little blue, little
crimson on the fan brush, both sides
Copy !req
72. loaded.
Copy !req
73. And maybe in our world, maybe there's some
big old clouds that live up in here in the
Copy !req
74. sky and just sort of float around, have a
good time.
Copy !req
75. So let's just take the fan brush and just
sort of wind them up.
Copy !req
76. Just make little tiny circles.
Copy !req
77. Little tiny circles.
Copy !req
78. Maybe there's a little doer that comes out
there.
Copy !req
79. I don't know.
Copy !req
80. Just sort of let it go.
Copy !req
81. Clouds are so free that you can just about
paint any way that you want.
Copy !req
82. If you're like me, when we were kids, we
used to go out and see all kind of shapes
Copy !req
83. in the clouds.
Copy !req
84. We'd make up little things.
Copy !req
85. We'd see Puff the Magic Dragon, or the
Wicked Old Witch, or whatever.
Copy !req
86. Whatever, just anything that you wanted to
see.
Copy !req
87. If you looked long enough in clouds, you
could find them.
Copy !req
88. So they're very free.
Copy !req
89. Maybe there's a little floater right there,
and maybe there's a bigger one that
Copy !req
90. comes right across here.
Copy !req
91. It doesn't matter.
Copy !req
92. This is your world.
Copy !req
93. And you can do anything here that your
heart desires.
Copy !req
94. You have total freedom here.
Copy !req
95. Totally in control.
Copy !req
96. This may be the only world that I'm in
control of.
Copy !req
97. And the same with you.
Copy !req
98. But here, you can literally do anything.
Copy !req
99. Little stringy cloud right back here.
Copy !req
100. There.
Copy !req
101. Good dry two inch brush.
Copy !req
102. It should be very dry though because
otherwise we'll sort of mix these up more
Copy !req
103. than we want.
Copy !req
104. All we want to do here is just sort of, actually
all we're doing is removing excess paint
Copy !req
105. so we can blend it.
Copy !req
106. That's all we're really doing.
Copy !req
107. Just barely grazing it, caressing it, touching
it gently, very gently, just with the
Copy !req
108. corner of the brush most of the time.
Copy !req
109. Just sort of,
Copy !req
110. Just sort of winding it up here, fluffing
it.
Copy !req
111. And as I say, in reality, the biggest
thing we're doing is removing excess paint
Copy !req
112. so we can do this.
Copy !req
113. There we go, and we just blend that
to any degree of softness that you want.
Copy !req
114. Something maybe about like that.
Copy !req
115. Okay.
Copy !req
116. Let me just beat the brush a little to
knock off the excess paint.
Copy !req
117. Now then, maybe I'll take a fan brush, a
little fan brush, we'll put a little white
Copy !req
118. on it.
Copy !req
119. Be right back.
Copy !req
120. Get a little tiny amount of the bright red.
Copy !req
121. Don't want much, just a little tiny amount.
Copy !req
122. And maybe here and there,
Copy !req
123. Just sorta tip the edges of that a little
bit.
Copy !req
124. I don't want this to get too bright.
Copy !req
125. I just want a little indication here and
there of a little floater that lives up in
Copy !req
126. here.
Copy !req
127. Tiniest, tiniest little bit.
Copy !req
128. There.
Copy !req
129. Maybe a little in here.
Copy !req
130. Wherever you make the decision.
Copy !req
131. And then very gently go right over that.
Copy !req
132. And that just helps create that illusion
of little things that are happening.
Copy !req
133. But I don't want them too bright.
Copy !req
134. Alright.
Copy !req
135. Isn't that a fantastic way though of
making a very effective little sky?
Copy !req
136. And it's pretty too.
Copy !req
137. Now then, now then, let me grab, let me
grab, we'll use one of the little, the
Copy !req
138. little small round brushes, about a half
size round.
Copy !req
139. We're gonna take some black, a little bit
of the Prussian blue, reach up here and
Copy !req
140. get a little Van Dyke, a little Alizarin
Crimson, maybe a little touch of the Sap
Copy !req
141. Green in there.
Copy !req
142. But just tap the brush, just tap it.
Copy !req
143. In our world, maybe back in here, in the
background, maybe there's some little
Copy !req
144. trees that live back in here.
Copy !req
145. And this little brush is just fantastic
for making these little trees.
Copy !req
146. Little things that live right along in
there.
Copy !req
147. Wherever.
Copy !req
148. You have to make the decision where they
live, how many there are.
Copy !req
149. Big, small, skinny, fat, whatever you
want.
Copy !req
150. You have to make those decisions.
Copy !req
151. There we go.
Copy !req
152. Something like that.
Copy !req
153. That gives us some very basic little
shapes.
Copy !req
154. Alright.
Copy !req
155. Now then, let's find an old script liner
brush.
Copy !req
156. A little bit of the Van Dyke Brown, a
little paint thinner.
Copy !req
157. And let's go right up in here.
Copy !req
158. And here and there, make the indication
of a little trunk in some of these little
Copy !req
159. trees.
Copy !req
160. Not too many, but just a little here and
there.
Copy !req
161. Maybe there's even one or two that stick
out above up there that you can see.
Copy !req
162. I like that.
Copy !req
163. Now then, we'll just use that same old
brush, what the heck.
Copy !req
164. What the heck, if we go into a little bit
of the cad yellow, it should turn a nice
Copy !req
165. greenish color.
Copy !req
166. We'll use a little yellow ochre, a little
Indian yellow here and there, and maybe
Copy !req
167. once in a while a little bit of the bright
red.
Copy !req
168. Okay, let's go back up here.
Copy !req
169. Now then, let's put some nice highlights
on these little trees.
Copy !req
170. There.
Copy !req
171. We'll vary the colors, going between the
different yellows, just to change the
Copy !req
172. flavor down there.
Copy !req
173. Then that little brush will do some
beautiful little things there.
Copy !req
174. Gonna really highlight that one.
Copy !req
175. I want him to stand out better.
Copy !req
176. There.
Copy !req
177. Boy, he's a shiner.
Copy !req
178. Add a little touch of the bright red to it.
Copy !req
179. There, see? Just put a little doer in
there.
Copy !req
180. There we go.
Copy !req
181. And maybe we'll give him a little friend
right down here.
Copy !req
182. But do little layers like this and it'll
create that illusion of depth that
Copy !req
183. we're always talking about.
Copy !req
184. Let's go over here.
Copy !req
185. Do this one over here.
Copy !req
186. Don't want him left out.
Copy !req
187. But don't kill all your dark areas.
Copy !req
188. Sometimes this gets working nice and you
get carried away and you kill all the dark
Copy !req
189. areas.
Copy !req
190. Then you lose your shadows.
Copy !req
191. Lose your shadows.
Copy !req
192. Get a little more of that sap green and
put it in there.
Copy !req
193. There.
Copy !req
194. Now if you really want a bright green
like springtime, add a little bit of the
Copy !req
195. phthalo green.
Copy !req
196. That'll really sparkle.
Copy !req
197. Maybe just tap that one, dull it down a
little bit.
Copy !req
198. Don't want it to stand out too much.
Copy !req
199. It'll be the only thing we see in the
painting.
Copy !req
200. There we are.
Copy !req
201. But see if you get one that you think's a
little bright, if you just tap it, it
Copy !req
202. picks up the base color, and you're in
business again.
Copy !req
203. Because we don't make mistakes.
Copy !req
204. We have happy accidents.
Copy !req
205. Choose those same colors.
Copy !req
206. Those black, little Prussian blue, little
Van Dyke brown, little sap green crimson.
Copy !req
207. And maybe in our world, little land
lives right here.
Copy !req
208. Little land right there, there it is.
Copy !req
209. All right, and I'm just tapping in some
dark color.
Copy !req
210. And we'll put some grass on top of that.
Copy !req
211. But we need that dark color so our light
will show.
Copy !req
212. There.
Copy !req
213. Tell you what, tell you what, let's
have some fun today.
Copy !req
214. Let's have some fun.
Copy !req
215. This would be a nice place, maybe there's
a big bank here.
Copy !req
216. We haven't done that in quite a while.
Copy !req
217. Maybe there's a big bank that sits right
here.
Copy !req
218. I'm gonna take a little bit of Van Dyke
Brown, and I'm just sort of pulling it
Copy !req
219. over, bloop, like that.
Copy !req
220. There.
Copy !req
221. Just wherever, maybe a little more down
here on this end.
Copy !req
222. Okay, now, take a little bit of white, a
little dark sienna, a little van dyke
Copy !req
223. brown, mix them together, but leave them
very marbled, and barely grazing the
Copy !req
224. canvas, following those angles, just come
right along like that, and just let it, just
Copy !req
225. barely, barely touch it.
Copy !req
226. Barely touch it.
Copy !req
227. Just graze it.
Copy !req
228. Just graze it. I mean, just the lightest
possible touch.
Copy !req
229. Lightest touch.
Copy !req
230. Eh, we'll just use that same old brush.
Copy !req
231. Doesn't matter if it's got a little color
on it, it'll just make green when we
Copy !req
232. touch the yellows.
Copy !req
233. There.
Copy !req
234. Just push, so you get that little ridge
of paint right out on the end of the
Copy !req
235. bristles.
Copy !req
236. And we can take that, and we can go in
here
Copy !req
237. and begin applying a little highlight.
Copy !req
238. Paying very close attention to the lay of
the land, or the way the land flows, whatever
Copy !req
239. you want to call it.
Copy !req
240. Let some of that just go right over the
edge.
Copy !req
241. And touch a little of the bright red here
and there.
Copy !req
242. Put a little sparkler, see?
Copy !req
243. But let it just crawl right over the edge.
Copy !req
244. Bloop, bloop, bloop, bloop, like that.
Copy !req
245. There.
Copy !req
246. Just a little more color.
Copy !req
247. But isn't that neat how you can just make
it look like there's little grassy areas
Copy !req
248. hanging right over the bank on the side of
a, maybe this is a little river.
Copy !req
249. Let's make a little river out of this.
Copy !req
250. Little river just sort of meanders along
here.
Copy !req
251. There.
Copy !req
252. Sort of a nice word that feels good on
your tongue, meander.
Copy !req
253. Guess that's a word.
Copy !req
254. I like it anyway.
Copy !req
255. There.
Copy !req
256. There's another little hangy down right
there.
Copy !req
257. But isn't that neat the way it just, it
already looks like a little bank up in
Copy !req
258. here.
Copy !req
259. Shoot, you know me.
Copy !req
260. I'd have to have a little house here.
Copy !req
261. Let's put a little cabin right here.
Copy !req
262. I'm just gonna take a knife and let's
just scrape out a basic shape.
Copy !req
263. Don't want a big cabin, just want a little
guy that lives here.
Copy !req
264. Because I would like to live right there.
Copy !req
265. I'd have a good time.
Copy !req
266. I'd sit right here in the living room and
throw my fishing line right out in the
Copy !req
267. water.
Copy !req
268. And if I caught one, we'd put a band-aid
on him, wish him well, give him a little
Copy !req
269. CPR, put him back in the water, pat him
on the tutu and send him on his way.
Copy !req
270. And we'd catch him again some other day.
Copy !req
271. This is just Van Dyke brown.
Copy !req
272. I'm just blocking in a basic shape.
Copy !req
273. Let me get the little knife.
Copy !req
274. This is a small cabin.
Copy !req
275. Little knife makes it a little easier to
get in there.
Copy !req
276. There, that's the reason we designed a
little knife, to do little things, so we
Copy !req
277. might as well use it.
Copy !req
278. There we go.
Copy !req
279. Now, I'm gonna take some white, put the
least little touch of bright red in it, and
Copy !req
280. dark sienna.
Copy !req
281. Make a nice warm color.
Copy !req
282. Cut across, get a little roll of paint.
Copy !req
283. On this side over here, just touch, choom,
pull down.
Copy !req
284. Something like that.
Copy !req
285. Now on the other side, I want to add a
little Van Dyke brown of that same color, because
Copy !req
286. in my mind, I think this side over here, well,
it didn't get any darker.
Copy !req
287. Do it again.
Copy !req
288. Should be a little darker over here.
Copy !req
289. There, that's better.
Copy !req
290. Little rascal didn't want to play right.
Copy !req
291. Gonna darken that even a little more right
up against the top.
Copy !req
292. There.
Copy !req
293. Now, we can take just a little bit of
straight Van Dyke brown on the knife, touch
Copy !req
294. it, make the indication of some old boards.
Copy !req
295. This is an old cabin out here.
Copy !req
296. Old fishing cabin.
Copy !req
297. Take our knife, do our old cabinectomy, as
soon as we decide what shape we want it.
Copy !req
298. We need a door.
Copy !req
299. Better put the door on this side, because
if we put it on the other side, when you
Copy !req
300. walk out, you're gonna fall right in the
creek.
Copy !req
301. Probably ruin your whole day.
Copy !req
302. Now, let's take a little white, a little
of the midnight black, I'm gonna make a
Copy !req
303. nice gray color.
Copy !req
304. And with a small edge of the knife, let's
go up in here, let's put the indication
Copy !req
305. of some little shingles on this house.
Copy !req
306. Just some little tiny shingles.
Copy !req
307. Doop-doop.
Copy !req
308. Gotta make those little noises.
Copy !req
309. And maybe some of these shingles have
already blowed off.
Copy !req
310. So don't worry if they don't all look
perfect.
Copy !req
311. It's an old cabin out here.
Copy !req
312. It's seen its better day.
Copy !req
313. Old cabin, like me.
Copy !req
314. Tired.
Copy !req
315. There.
Copy !req
316. Little highlight just so it shows up a
little better.
Copy !req
317. Now then, back to my brush that we were
making the grassy areas with.
Copy !req
318. And let's put some things around his
little bottom here.
Copy !req
319. Some little grassy things.
Copy !req
320. Maybe the grasses grow clean up to the
door.
Copy !req
321. Clean up to the door there.
Copy !req
322. There, all right.
Copy !req
323. Okay, now let's take our knife, we'll put
a little bit of, little liquid white out
Copy !req
324. here, and we'll put at least a little
touch of black into it so I make a very
Copy !req
325. light gray color.
Copy !req
326. Cut across, get our little bit of paint
right on the edge of the knife.
Copy !req
327. And let's come right up in here and we'll
clean up the bottom of this cliff, bank,
Copy !req
328. whatever we want to call it.
Copy !req
329. Rocky area that drips over here into the
water, whatever.
Copy !req
330. But just rub it.
Copy !req
331. Just rub it firmly.
Copy !req
332. And I don't want it to be perfectly
straight.
Copy !req
333. I want all kind of little indentations and
little doodads in there.
Copy !req
334. Because that's where the fish hide.
Copy !req
335. I like to catch fish.
Copy !req
336. But as I say, I'm not a very good
fisherman.
Copy !req
337. I just sort of turn them loose.
Copy !req
338. There.
Copy !req
339. But that's okay.
Copy !req
340. Let me find another one of those little
round brushes.
Copy !req
341. I like them.
Copy !req
342. Let's take our black and blue and brown
and crimson and sap green.
Copy !req
343. Just load a lot of those colors on there.
Copy !req
344. Maybe in our world, right over in here, got
ta have something on this side.
Copy !req
345. Maybe there lives a little peninsula
right here.
Copy !req
346. That way we can push that stream back.
Copy !req
347. We can just push it around.
Copy !req
348. There we go.
Copy !req
349. That's a nice little tree here.
Copy !req
350. Must be a fantastic place for my little
squirrel to live.
Copy !req
351. I've showed him several times.
Copy !req
352. I'd like to show him one more time in this
series, because I'm so crazy about these
Copy !req
353. little rascals.
Copy !req
354. There, there he is in my backyard.
Copy !req
355. You see, after I turned him loose, how
dependent he still is.
Copy !req
356. I think he's got sort of used to the old
man feeding him here.
Copy !req
357. They really didn't go far when I turned
them loose.
Copy !req
358. They certainly knew where they had it
made.
Copy !req
359. There.
Copy !req
360. Now, let's have a little reflection
on there.
Copy !req
361. Grab it and pull down, straight down.
Copy !req
362. And go gently, gently across.
Copy !req
363. Aren't those little squirrels cute?
Copy !req
364. I raised about a half a dozen of them this
year, and most of them we've turned loose
Copy !req
365. now, and they're living out in my backyard,
just having a good time.
Copy !req
366. I still feed them every day, so they
hang around.
Copy !req
367. They hang around.
Copy !req
368. and people come over to see me and they
go out in the backyard and if they're not
Copy !req
369. expecting it, it sort of scares you
when this squirrel jumps on your shoulder
Copy !req
370. out of the tree.
Copy !req
371. But that's all right.
Copy !req
372. People get used to it and they certainly
like them once they know they're not gon
Copy !req
373. na attack them.
Copy !req
374. They like them.
Copy !req
375. You can't hardly help but like one of them
little rascals.
Copy !req
376. Let's take some of our greens and yellows
Copy !req
377. All of those colors, I'm gonna reach over
here and get the least little touch
Copy !req
378. of liquid white put in there.
Copy !req
379. I want that to be a little bit thinner and
a little bit brighter, so I use liquid
Copy !req
380. white rather than paint thinner.
Copy !req
381. So it stands out from the stuff in the
background there.
Copy !req
382. Now we can come right up here with this
brush.
Copy !req
383. And that quick, we can just throw all
kinds of little grassy things up here, little
Copy !req
384. leafy things.
Copy !req
385. Isn't that neat how that little brush
just drops all those in?
Copy !req
386. That easy.
Copy !req
387. I really like this little round brush.
Copy !req
388. There.
Copy !req
389. Now then, a little bright red, a little
yellow ochre.
Copy !req
390. We'll just play, shoot.
Copy !req
391. Let's have some nice little bush out here
that really sparkles.
Copy !req
392. Ooh, that's a nice one, nice one.
Copy !req
393. Nice one, that one will get your attention.
Copy !req
394. A little one right here.
Copy !req
395. Wherever.
Copy !req
396. Just sort of look at them and decide where
you think they should live and drop them
Copy !req
397. in.
Copy !req
398. There we go.
Copy !req
399. That easy.
Copy !req
400. And we can take a little touch of the
liquid white on here.
Copy !req
401. And then just very easy, just put a little
indication like that in.
Copy !req
402. around there too, just to make it look
like there's a little dirt there.
Copy !req
403. There.
Copy !req
404. And then let it just go right into that
liquid white.
Copy !req
405. And that's the simplest, easiest way
there is of making the indication of a
Copy !req
406. little bank without really doing nothing.
Copy !req
407. Now we just take and scratch in a few
little sticks and twigs and all those
Copy !req
408. little things that live out there.
Copy !req
409. Tell you what, why don't we bring the
camera right up here.
Copy !req
410. I'm gonna pull the contact paper off, and
then we'll play some.
Copy !req
411. This is the moment of truth right here.
Copy !req
412. Phew, that looks pretty nice right there, just
the way it is, maybe we'll just quit.
Copy !req
413. Nah, you know me, I've gotta have a big
tree over here on the other side.
Copy !req
414. I get letters sometimes, people say, you
did the most beautiful painting on TV the
Copy !req
415. other day, and then you put that dumb tree
in there.
Copy !req
416. I get carried away with trees.
Copy !req
417. But when you do them at home, if you
don't want a tree in there, please don't
Copy !req
418. put one in.
Copy !req
419. The only thing I'm doing is showing you
ideas.
Copy !req
420. And by showing you ideas, I hope I spark
your imagination and you come up with many,
Copy !req
421. many more ideas than I've ever had.
Copy !req
422. And that's when painting really becomes
fun.
Copy !req
423. It's when it's your own creation.
Copy !req
424. It's not just something you're copying
that somebody else did.
Copy !req
425. We really are not trying to teach you
how to copy.
Copy !req
426. We're trying to teach you a method of
painting, a style of painting, a technique,
Copy !req
427. and then turn you loose on the world.
Copy !req
428. Because once you have this, you can paint
anything.
Copy !req
429. Anything.
Copy !req
430. You just need a little vision in your mind.
Copy !req
431. Practice visualizing paintings in your
mind.
Copy !req
432. See, I have a tree right over here.
Copy !req
433. Shoot, maybe it comes right on down here.
Copy !req
434. I don't know, wherever you want.
Copy !req
435. There's a little bush.
Copy !req
436. And we let it wander right on out about
there.
Copy !req
437. Something like so.
Copy !req
438. You decide when you do yours.
Copy !req
439. Let's grab an old fan brush here, fill it
full of Van Dyke brown, a little dark
Copy !req
440. sienna.
Copy !req
441. We just mix them together on the brush.
Copy !req
442. And let's put an old tree trunk up in
there.
Copy !req
443. This is an old gnarly tree.
Copy !req
444. It's got a lot of wiggles and jiggles
and all kinds of little things in it.
Copy !req
445. There's another arm on it.
Copy !req
446. I'd make a big slingshot.
Copy !req
447. Nice tree.
Copy !req
448. There's his little foots.
Copy !req
449. Okay, take a little white, a little dark
sienna, mix them together.
Copy !req
450. Get our little roll of paint, and let's
just put the indication here and there of
Copy !req
451. a little highlight on this tree there.
Copy !req
452. Just let that just sort of float right
down the tree, allowing it to break, barely,
Copy !req
453. barely touching.
Copy !req
454. Just barely touching.
Copy !req
455. And that old rascal will just jump right
out there at you.
Copy !req
456. Something like that.
Copy !req
457. Take a little touch of the Prussian Blue, a
little white, put on the other side here, just
Copy !req
458. to give the indication of a little
reflected light.
Copy !req
459. Go right back into that dark color, and
over the top of it, gently, and I'm not
Copy !req
460. kidding, when this is dry, it'll look and
feel like real bark.
Copy !req
461. You'll absolutely be amazed at how real it
looks.
Copy !req
462. I'm gonna put a bunch of leaves on there, so
we don't need many limbs.
Copy !req
463. We'll put a couple.
Copy !req
464. Don't want too many.
Copy !req
465. Maybe there's one that comes all the way
out there.
Copy !req
466. We don't care.
Copy !req
467. There.
Copy !req
468. Now then, back to our little round brush.
Copy !req
469. Get a little bit of the color.
Copy !req
470. I'm gonna add some more sap green in there.
Copy !req
471. Ooh, that's nice.
Copy !req
472. Let's go up in here.
Copy !req
473. And let's just put in a few leaves on this
tree.
Copy !req
474. Just a few leaves that sparkle and play
and have a good time.
Copy !req
475. There they go.
Copy !req
476. Let some of them go on out here past the
dark.
Copy !req
477. It makes sort of an interesting effect.
Copy !req
478. Like that.
Copy !req
479. There we are.
Copy !req
480. Wherever, wherever.
Copy !req
481. Now then, let me add a little touch
of the bright red, and let's just come
Copy !req
482. down here and bounce in a few little
bushes, and shoot, we'll have a finished
Copy !req
483. painting.
Copy !req
484. Hope you've enjoyed this one, because I
certainly like these little paintings.
Copy !req
485. These ovals, as I say, may be one of the
neatest things that we've ever come up
Copy !req
486. with.
Copy !req
487. As I travel around the country now, I
see them all over.
Copy !req
488. There.
Copy !req
489. Let that just wander right on back.
Copy !req
490. Okay, maybe a few little things back in
here behind the tree.
Copy !req
491. Leave some of these dark areas.
Copy !req
492. They'll make nice things in there.
Copy !req
493. Okay, take the knife, scrape in a stick
and twig.
Copy !req
494. Shoot, you got a finished painting.
Copy !req
495. Think we'll call that one done.
Copy !req
496. Hope you've enjoyed it.
Copy !req
497. And from all of us here, I'd like to wish
you happy painting, and God bless, my
Copy !req
498. friend.
Copy !req
