1. Hi, welcome back.
Copy !req
2. Certainly glad to see you again.
Copy !req
3. I thought today we'd just do a fantastic
little winter scene, and I'll show you
Copy !req
4. one that's very simple and easy to do.
Copy !req
5. But first, let's start out and have them
run all the colors across the screen that
Copy !req
6. you need to paint along with us.
Copy !req
7. While they're doing that, let me tell you
what I've got done up here.
Copy !req
8. I have my standard old pre-stretched
double-prime canvas, and I've just applied
Copy !req
9. a very thin, even coat of liquid white.
Copy !req
10. So it's totally wet and slick, and it's
all ready to go.
Copy !req
11. So let's just do a fantastic little
painting together.
Copy !req
12. Something that's got a lot of blues in it.
Copy !req
13. So I'm gonna start with a little phthalo
blue.
Copy !req
14. I'm gonna reach right up here, grab a
little bit of the midnight black, and
Copy !req
15. maybe a tiny, tiny amount of phthalo green.
Copy !req
16. Just to change the flavor a little bit.
Copy !req
17. Not much green, not much green.
Copy !req
18. I still want it to be blue, but a little
phthalo green sometime will just, ooh, makes
Copy !req
19. it pretty.
Copy !req
20. Let's go right up here.
Copy !req
21. And let's start in here.
Copy !req
22. Happy little sky.
Copy !req
23. And we're just using criss-cross strokes, little
Xs, like that.
Copy !req
24. Just like so.
Copy !req
25. And we allow the paint to blend with the
liquid white that's already on the canvas.
Copy !req
26. If you were trying to do this on a dry
canvas, all you'd get was streaks.
Copy !req
27. But because this is wet, it blends
continually.
Copy !req
28. It's always blending.
Copy !req
29. Very pretty.
Copy !req
30. Makes your life easy.
Copy !req
31. Isn't that a pretty color with just that
little tiny touch of phthalo green in it?
Copy !req
32. But once again, be very careful.
Copy !req
33. All you need is the tiniest, tiniest
little touch.
Copy !req
34. Tiniest little touch. Let me just blend it
a little bit.
Copy !req
35. Like so.
Copy !req
36. but I would like for it to be darker on
the edges than it is in the center.
Copy !req
37. That way it sort of leads your eye into
the center of the painting.
Copy !req
38. There.
Copy !req
39. I tell you what, let's do that again.
Copy !req
40. What the heck?
Copy !req
41. What the heck?
Copy !req
42. We'll take some black, some phthalo blue, least
little touch of the phthalo green.
Copy !req
43. Least little touch.
Copy !req
44. Just enough to flavor it.
Copy !req
45. All right. And let's do the same thing
down here.
Copy !req
46. What the heck?
Copy !req
47. That was so much fun, let's just do the
entire canvas that way.
Copy !req
48. Still making the little criss-cross
strokes, little X's.
Copy !req
49. Like that.
Copy !req
50. There.
Copy !req
51. All right. A little more of the color.
Copy !req
52. And we can sort of just bring it all
together that way.
Copy !req
53. Maybe we'll do like a little vignette
today.
Copy !req
54. Since I've painted the whole canvas, that
sounds like it'd be fun.
Copy !req
55. I'll show you a very, very simple little
winter scene that is exciting.
Copy !req
56. People will like it.
Copy !req
57. People will like it.
Copy !req
58. There.
Copy !req
59. Now sometimes, as I mentioned earlier, you
really like to have these edges quite dark.
Copy !req
60. So I'm gonna take a little bit of the
Prussian blue.
Copy !req
61. It's a much darker blue.
Copy !req
62. And maybe we'll just put that right in the
edge here.
Copy !req
63. Just in the edges.
Copy !req
64. I'm gonna put a little bit in all four
corners.
Copy !req
65. All four corners.
Copy !req
66. There we go.
Copy !req
67. Don't need a great deal. I just wanna
darken these corners.
Copy !req
68. We're gonna do a vignette.
Copy !req
69. I really want you to concentrate on the
center of the painting.
Copy !req
70. and a little bit over here in this corner.
Copy !req
71. We don't want to leave him out.
Copy !req
72. Don't want to leave him out.
Copy !req
73. He'd be insulted and get mad.
Copy !req
74. There.
Copy !req
75. All right.
Copy !req
76. Now let me wash the brush and we'll just
blend that out.
Copy !req
77. And as you know, we wash our brushes
with odorless thinner and we have a lot
Copy !req
78. of fun.
Copy !req
79. Just shake off the excess.
Copy !req
80. and beat the devil out of it.
Copy !req
81. All right, now with a clean, dry brush, and
be sure it's dry.
Copy !req
82. Be sure it's dry.
Copy !req
83. You don't wanna, you don't wanna delete
this color that's on the canvas or make it
Copy !req
84. thinner.
Copy !req
85. You wanna keep it as thick as possible now.
Copy !req
86. There we go.
Copy !req
87. All I'm doing is just blending this
together.
Copy !req
88. All right.
Copy !req
89. And down here, the same thing.
Copy !req
90. color already, I like that.
Copy !req
91. Okay, now.
Copy !req
92. And then we'll go all the way across, and
this just removes brush strokes and brings
Copy !req
93. it all together.
Copy !req
94. And I think we're in business.
Copy !req
95. Okay. Tell you what, maybe today, let's
use
Copy !req
96. Let's use the little half size round brush.
Copy !req
97. And I'm gonna mix up, I'm gonna mix up
some black, some phthalo blue, a little
Copy !req
98. touch of the phthalo green into it, not
much, not much.
Copy !req
99. Once again, that green is, it'll eat up
your whole world in a heartbeat.
Copy !req
100. Be very careful with it, very careful.
Copy !req
101. Especially in a winter scene.
Copy !req
102. Okay, let me wipe the old knife.
Copy !req
103. Because in a winter scene, phthalo green
is almost an emerald green, and you
Copy !req
104. certainly don't want much of that in your
winter scene.
Copy !req
105. I'm just gonna take this little round
brush and just tap it right into that
Copy !req
106. color, just a little.
Copy !req
107. Just tap it, that's the way we load it.
Copy !req
108. Just tap, like so.
Copy !req
109. All right, let's go up here.
Copy !req
110. Maybe back here in our world, maybe we
have some little trees that live in here.
Copy !req
111. So just decide where they live in your
world, and just begin tapping in some very,
Copy !req
112. very basic shape.
Copy !req
113. I'm not looking for a lot of detail, it's
too far away.
Copy !req
114. Too far away, get a little more paint.
Copy !req
115. But I would suggest you start in the
center and we'll work in both directions
Copy !req
116. because I want to get progressively
lighter as we work outward.
Copy !req
117. There we go. Just think about some little
tiny shapes.
Copy !req
118. These are trees and bushes that live far
back in the background.
Copy !req
119. And as they work out lighter and lighter
Copy !req
120. More and more gentle.
Copy !req
121. Very soft, very gentle.
Copy !req
122. And over in here, see there, just fades
right out.
Copy !req
123. You can probably hear the difference
in the amount of pressure that we're
Copy !req
124. hitting the canvas with.
Copy !req
125. There, we're really getting tough.
Copy !req
126. I want this to be very dark.
Copy !req
127. There, maybe there's another big old tree
that lives.
Copy !req
128. Yep, you're right, there he is, right in
there.
Copy !req
129. Wherever you think there should be one, that's
exactly where they should be.
Copy !req
130. But now once again, over on this side, I'm
gonna let it just sorta, just sorta
Copy !req
131. poop out over here.
Copy !req
132. Just get weaker and weaker.
Copy !req
133. Till it runs right on out.
Copy !req
134. Basically into nothing.
Copy !req
135. There.
Copy !req
136. See how soft that is?
Copy !req
137. And that's exactly what we're looking for.
Copy !req
138. Now then, let's take our old script liner
brush.
Copy !req
139. And we'll use, maybe we'll use just a
touch of Van Dyke brown, what the heck, we
Copy !req
140. don't need much though.
Copy !req
141. But thin it with paint thinner, till it's
literally, it's like ink.
Copy !req
142. Very, very thin, you can see it running
right there on the palette.
Copy !req
143. That's what we're looking for.
Copy !req
144. Very thin, let's go ahead and compare.
Copy !req
145. Now here and there, and there and here, I'm
just gonna put the indication, and I
Copy !req
146. don't want them to be very strong, just
very quiet little indications of a few
Copy !req
147. little trunks and sticks, twigs, little
things that live back here in the trees.
Copy !req
148. There.
Copy !req
149. But I don't want a lot of stuff, just a
few, just a few.
Copy !req
150. Don't want to overkill here.
Copy !req
151. Can't hardly see these.
Copy !req
152. Same over there.
Copy !req
153. Over here, maybe we'll put a little one
there too.
Copy !req
154. All right.
Copy !req
155. But that's basically all we're looking for.
Copy !req
156. And you could take that same brush with
that color on it, and we'll put a little
Copy !req
157. white out there, so.
Copy !req
158. And I'm just gonna tap that brush with
that color on it right into this.
Copy !req
159. So all I'm doing is diluting the tree
color a little bit.
Copy !req
160. I don't want it diluted much.
Copy !req
161. And you can come back in here and there
Copy !req
162. Just put the indication of a little tiny
bit of highlight.
Copy !req
163. I don't want much, once again.
Copy !req
164. Once again, I'm really trying to keep this
very quiet, very soft back in here.
Copy !req
165. Just a few little happy things that
you can make out.
Copy !req
166. But that's about all we need.
Copy !req
167. And these little dark spots, don't kill
them all.
Copy !req
168. It makes deep, deep shadows back here.
Copy !req
169. There, maybe right in here just a little.
Copy !req
170. See, you can't hardly even see those.
Copy !req
171. But now when you do your painting, you'll
be able to see them.
Copy !req
172. Maybe, let's go over to this tree.
Copy !req
173. We don't want him left out. We'll give him
just a tiny bit.
Copy !req
174. And that's really about all that I want on
this painting.
Copy !req
175. And that makes this a nice little
background.
Copy !req
176. It's very simple, and even if you've never
painted before, you can do that.
Copy !req
177. You can do that. I know you can do that.
Copy !req
178. Let's take some titanium white.
Copy !req
179. Shoot, let's put some snow back here.
Copy !req
180. Use the old two-inch brush.
Copy !req
181. Load some paint into it.
Copy !req
182. Just load some paint.
Copy !req
183. Now then, another major decision.
Copy !req
184. You have to decide where your snow is in
this painting.
Copy !req
185. And I think it's right here.
Copy !req
186. Make a decision and begin pulling, pulling,
and just let it just sort of disappear
Copy !req
187. into nothing.
Copy !req
188. If this is gonna be like a little vignette,
then we want the edges just to sort of
Copy !req
189. disappear back there.
Copy !req
190. But allow it to pick up some of that tree
color.
Copy !req
191. It'll end up looking like shadows.
Copy !req
192. It is very pretty.
Copy !req
193. And it'll be your good friend.
Copy !req
194. Don't fight it. Let it pick up some
of that color.
Copy !req
195. I intentionally try to get up in there and
let it pick up some of that.
Copy !req
196. And we're just gonna fade right into
nothing on either side.
Copy !req
197. Like that. That's all we're looking for
right now.
Copy !req
198. Shoot.
Copy !req
199. Let's get crazy.
Copy !req
200. That would be a wonderful place to have a
little house.
Copy !req
201. So come right up here, I'll show you
the easy way to make a little house.
Copy !req
202. All you have to do is figure out basically
where you want it, take your knife, and
Copy !req
203. scrape out a general shape.
Copy !req
204. All we're looking for here is just a
general shape.
Copy !req
205. We're not committed at this point.
Copy !req
206. We can change it, we can do anything
that we want.
Copy !req
207. But the biggest thing this does is remove
the excess paint.
Copy !req
208. So it's easier to get the next layer
to stick.
Copy !req
209. Shoot, maybe we'll even put a little shed
out there.
Copy !req
210. Let's scratch it out too.
Copy !req
211. Now we can take a little Van Dyke brown.
Copy !req
212. Just a little Van Dyke brown, pull it
out very flat.
Copy !req
213. Our little roll of paint as we always have.
Copy !req
214. And let's go right up in here and we'll
make the back eave of the house first.
Copy !req
215. Just like that.
Copy !req
216. Now, we're gonna mix Van Dyke Brown
and Dark Sienna together.
Copy !req
217. And zoop.
Copy !req
218. There. If you don't make those little
noises, it won't work.
Copy !req
219. There we go.
Copy !req
220. And over here, we'll put just a little bit
right in there.
Copy !req
221. Like that.
Copy !req
222. Just a tiny little bit.
Copy !req
223. And let me clean off the old knife.
Copy !req
224. Maybe there's a little snow up here on our
roof.
Copy !req
225. Just pull it like that.
Copy !req
226. Just like that.
Copy !req
227. See there?
Copy !req
228. That's all there is to it.
Copy !req
229. And we can put a little bit over here on
the other side.
Copy !req
230. Just a little roof.
Copy !req
231. Now, put a little bit of dark right
underneath here.
Copy !req
232. If we're gonna have a little shed out here,
we need a little dark to show the
Copy !req
233. division in there.
Copy !req
234. Looks like I got a little bit of brown in
that roof.
Copy !req
235. That's the only thing worse than yellow
snow.
Copy !req
236. All right.
Copy !req
237. I'll just go right over the top of it, and
we'll take that right out, see there?
Copy !req
238. We don't make mistakes, we have happy
accidents.
Copy !req
239. Now then, if we're gonna have a little
shed, certainly there'll be a little bit
Copy !req
240. of snow on its roof, too.
Copy !req
241. Back to our brown, and we can just fill
that in.
Copy !req
242. All we're doing right now is just blocking
in a little bit of color.
Copy !req
243. That's all we're trying to do.
Copy !req
244. Now then, I'm gonna take a touch of yellow
ochre, a little dark sienna, and we
Copy !req
245. just sort of mix them together, about like
that.
Copy !req
246. We don't want to overmix them.
Copy !req
247. I want to cut across, and once again, our
little roll of paint.
Copy !req
248. And it might be better here to use the
small knife.
Copy !req
249. Just touch and barely let it graze.
Copy !req
250. That's all.
Copy !req
251. In fact, let me grab the small knife.
Copy !req
252. It'll sneak in these little places so much
better like that.
Copy !req
253. Now, I'm gonna darken that color.
Copy !req
254. It's the same color, just darker.
Copy !req
255. And put a little bit over there.
Copy !req
256. Back to our Van Dyke brown.
Copy !req
257. And let's just make the indication of some
old boards in here just by touching a
Copy !req
258. little bit of brown to that.
Copy !req
259. Makes it look very old and very weathered.
Copy !req
260. You know, like me.
Copy !req
261. There.
Copy !req
262. Then we come back with our knife, decide
where everything is, and we just do what
Copy !req
263. I call a cabinecting.
Copy !req
264. And you can work out your perspective
and bring it all together that easy.
Copy !req
265. And back to our brush that has the
titanium white on it.
Copy !req
266. This is a two inch brush loaded with a
little bit of titanium white on it.
Copy !req
267. And we can come back in here now,
Copy !req
268. and just begin putting in some little
things like that.
Copy !req
269. Just cover up anything that we don't want.
Copy !req
270. Shoot, you know what? I didn't put a door
in there.
Copy !req
271. We got that fellow trapped in there, so
let's give him a door.
Copy !req
272. He may want to get out and see what's
happening in his world.
Copy !req
273. There, give him a door.
Copy !req
274. Take a little light color and sort of
outline it so it stands out.
Copy !req
275. There.
Copy !req
276. Now he can get out. We had him locked in
the house.
Copy !req
277. Had him locked in there.
Copy !req
278. And a little bit more of the snow right in
there.
Copy !req
279. Okay.
Copy !req
280. Now.
Copy !req
281. Let's take, I get a lot of letters that
say, I've never put chimneys on my little
Copy !req
282. cabin.
Copy !req
283. So let's put a little chimney right there.
Copy !req
284. You can just use a small edge of the knife
and a little brown and give him a little
Copy !req
285. chimney.
Copy !req
286. I don't want him to freeze to death either.
Copy !req
287. We locked him in there.
Copy !req
288. Least we can do is give him a chimney.
Copy !req
289. There.
Copy !req
290. We'll take a little titanium white and
just touch it and let it slide.
Copy !req
291. Just let it break right across there.
Copy !req
292. Just let it slide, see there?
Copy !req
293. Not much though, just a little.
Copy !req
294. And let it break.
Copy !req
295. But it's important that it break.
Copy !req
296. I just want it to look like little things
laying back in there.
Copy !req
297. There we go.
Copy !req
298. Now, I'm just gonna keep bringing snow
on out here.
Copy !req
299. Something maybe like that.
Copy !req
300. And maybe this fella built his little
cabin.
Copy !req
301. Maybe there was a little pond right there.
Copy !req
302. Let's go back to our original color.
Copy !req
303. That was black, phthalo blue, and a touch
of phthalo green.
Copy !req
304. Just a touch.
Copy !req
305. If we're gonna have maybe a little pond, decide
where it's at.
Copy !req
306. Just touch the canvas and pull downward.
Copy !req
307. Straight down.
Copy !req
308. Straight down.
Copy !req
309. See, that's all you have to do.
Copy !req
310. You make a decision and you can have a
pond or a lake or you can even have a
Copy !req
311. river.
Copy !req
312. Anywhere you want it. Just like this.
Copy !req
313. On this piece of canvas you have total and
absolute control.
Copy !req
314. Absolute power.
Copy !req
315. Scary to have this much power.
Copy !req
316. There, now very lightly we go across.
Copy !req
317. Just go across.
Copy !req
318. Something like that.
Copy !req
319. And here and there, and there and here.
Copy !req
320. Maybe there's a little bush that's
sticking up.
Copy !req
321. Just a little bush, and we'll use that
same color.
Copy !req
322. I think I'll use that same color
throughout the whole painting.
Copy !req
323. There.
Copy !req
324. And maybe, yeah, maybe our little bush
lives right there.
Copy !req
325. There he is.
Copy !req
326. Just sort of push him in like that.
Copy !req
327. And maybe he's got a little friend right
there.
Copy !req
328. Wherever you want him.
Copy !req
329. Tell you what, maybe there's another one.
Copy !req
330. You just put as many little weed patches
here and there as you want.
Copy !req
331. Drop them in, drop them in, and you
can take the liner brush, little paint
Copy !req
332. thinner on it, go into that same color, and
maybe we'll pull out a little twig and a
Copy !req
333. stick here and there, wherever.
Copy !req
334. Little over here too, we don't want this
one left out.
Copy !req
335. Just some little things that are happening
in there.
Copy !req
336. And take another fan brush and we can grab
right at the base of that and just sort of
Copy !req
337. blend it in and get a little of the color
and pull it.
Copy !req
338. And that way it'll look like shadows once
again that are just living right under
Copy !req
339. there.
Copy !req
340. There we go, see there?
Copy !req
341. You can make it look like it's setting up
maybe on a little high spot.
Copy !req
342. Something like so.
Copy !req
343. Maybe in our world,
Copy !req
344. You just start seeing things.
Copy !req
345. Maybe there's an old stick that lives here.
Copy !req
346. Take a little of the Van Dyke Brown.
Copy !req
347. See, there he is. Just an old stick
that lives out there.
Copy !req
348. I'm gonna take just titanium white, load a
little bit on the knife, and once again, just
Copy !req
349. let it sort of bounce along there.
Copy !req
350. I want this to set on top of the very
smooth snow.
Copy !req
351. It makes an extremely interesting effect.
Copy !req
352. It's very nice when you do it that way.
Copy !req
353. Pay very close attention to angles though.
Copy !req
354. There we go.
Copy !req
355. It's most important that you have angles
that look right.
Copy !req
356. Little bit of the liquid white, and I'm
gonna mix that with titanium white just
Copy !req
357. to make it a little thinner.
Copy !req
358. Just a little, and then all we have to do
is just touch.
Copy !req
359. Just touch.
Copy !req
360. And we'll make some little things around
the edges here.
Copy !req
361. There we go, a little bit over in here.
Copy !req
362. Like that.
Copy !req
363. Wherever you think they should be.
Copy !req
364. Wherever.
Copy !req
365. Back to my old two inch brush.
Copy !req
366. Maybe we'll bring a little, little
peninsula right in there.
Copy !req
367. Put it in first with a brush.
Copy !req
368. Maybe I'll just bring that right on down.
Copy !req
369. This is gonna be a little pond.
Copy !req
370. Let's start putting some borders on it
here.
Copy !req
371. We don't want it to get away and turn into
a big river.
Copy !req
372. Just a tiny little pond.
Copy !req
373. Maybe in the summertime, this is where the
old fellow that lives here, maybe he
Copy !req
374. has some ducks and they play in here.
Copy !req
375. Some kind of little creatures.
Copy !req
376. Back to a little of the titanium white, and
then once again, just sort of let it
Copy !req
377. slag right over the top of that.
Copy !req
378. Barely touching.
Copy !req
379. Whisper light.
Copy !req
380. Whisper light.
Copy !req
381. And the same thing here.
Copy !req
382. But gentle, very gentle.
Copy !req
383. Very, very gentle.
Copy !req
384. We'll just let it sort of blend back and
disappear.
Copy !req
385. Just let it sort of disappear back in here.
Copy !req
386. We don't know where it goes.
Copy !req
387. All right.
Copy !req
388. Let's have some fun over here on the other
side.
Copy !req
389. And we'll take one of the little half-size
oval brushes.
Copy !req
390. Round brush, I'm sorry, I said oval.
Copy !req
391. Round brush.
Copy !req
392. Round one.
Copy !req
393. And they're not really totally round.
Copy !req
394. They're actually sort of oblong.
Copy !req
395. So you can bring it to a chisel edge.
Copy !req
396. See how sharp that is?
Copy !req
397. You can bring that rascal to a very sharp
chisel edge.
Copy !req
398. Let's go up here.
Copy !req
399. Maybe, yep, right there.
Copy !req
400. Let's have just a little evergreen tree.
Copy !req
401. Isn't that fantastic?
Copy !req
402. You can take that little brush and you
can actually do entire paintings using
Copy !req
403. nothing but these little round brushes.
Copy !req
404. The big one or the little one, either one.
Copy !req
405. Either one makes no difference.
Copy !req
406. Either one.
Copy !req
407. Tell you what, maybe there's, maybe there's
a nice land mass that lives right here.
Copy !req
408. Just goes right on out.
Copy !req
409. Something like that.
Copy !req
410. I don't know.
Copy !req
411. Wherever you think it should be.
Copy !req
412. Now, I'm just gonna take that same color
and go through a little bit of white, just
Copy !req
413. to lighten it, just like we did with the
little trees back in the back.
Copy !req
414. And here and there, put the indication
of a few little highlights on.
Copy !req
415. I don't want many, because I don't want to
lose this darkness here.
Copy !req
416. Don't want to lose that.
Copy !req
417. And very quickly, it'll go away and leave
you.
Copy !req
418. There.
Copy !req
419. Wash off the old brush.
Copy !req
420. This one's not as much fun to wash as the
big one, though, because it doesn't
Copy !req
421. splatter all over.
Copy !req
422. That's pretty good.
Copy !req
423. Now today, I'm gonna take some of the
liquid clear and put out.
Copy !req
424. Liquid clear.
Copy !req
425. And to that, I'm gonna add just titanium
white.
Copy !req
426. I'm gonna mix it until it's very thin.
Copy !req
427. It's a very, very thin paint.
Copy !req
428. There, alright, let me wipe the old knife
off here.
Copy !req
429. Very thin.
Copy !req
430. And here and there,
Copy !req
431. Gonna add just a little bit of that to the
bristles, and let's come right in here, and
Copy !req
432. I'm sort of pushing it sidewards.
Copy !req
433. I want to make the indication of all kinds
of little doers that are hanging out here.
Copy !req
434. See them?
Copy !req
435. Little snow-covered things, but give it
a little push so you get those little
Copy !req
436. edges on it.
Copy !req
437. Looks like all kinds of little bushes.
Copy !req
438. Ooh, I see something.
Copy !req
439. I see something, watch here, watch here, watch
here.
Copy !req
440. Let's take a little of the titanium white,
bring it right out here.
Copy !req
441. Like that.
Copy !req
442. Just titanium white.
Copy !req
443. Bring it right on out.
Copy !req
444. Little bit of the dark color, and maybe
there's a little, little area like that.
Copy !req
445. Then we'll bring that out.
Copy !req
446. There, isn't that neat?
Copy !req
447. Just a little doer there.
Copy !req
448. Back to our white.
Copy !req
449. Maybe it comes right on around.
Copy !req
450. Like that.
Copy !req
451. A few little things in here.
Copy !req
452. And then just let them disappear.
Copy !req
453. This is such a gentle touch.
Copy !req
454. Practice this touch a little bit, because
you're just barely, barely grazing the
Copy !req
455. canvas.
Copy !req
456. Just want to create the illusion of a
little, little do-er here, a little, little
Copy !req
457. recessed area.
Copy !req
458. I'm gonna take some of that same blue
color with a little Van Dyke brown in it, and
Copy !req
459. maybe, you know me, I think there ought to
be a big old tree right about there.
Copy !req
460. Put a big wiggle in him.
Copy !req
461. Just give him a friend.
Copy !req
462. Everybody needs a friend.
Copy !req
463. There.
Copy !req
464. Something about like that.
Copy !req
465. Take our liner brush, little bit of that
same color, and let's put the indication
Copy !req
466. here and there of a limb or two that's
just growing right out of there.
Copy !req
467. Wherever, wherever.
Copy !req
468. I want a few here, I'm gonna put some
little snow-covered leaves and stuff
Copy !req
469. on here so we don't have to do a whole
bunch.
Copy !req
470. Don't have to do a whole bunch, just a few
little indications.
Copy !req
471. While I have that going, maybe there's an
old, this right there, old stick could
Copy !req
472. just grow right out.
Copy !req
473. Might even be an old small tree in there.
Copy !req
474. Just put all these little things in that
you want, wherever you want them.
Copy !req
475. Let's go back to our little round brush
that has that white.
Copy !req
476. I'm gonna dip it in a little bit of dark
color first and then we'll go right over
Copy !req
477. here to this very thin color we made and
just tip the tips of the bristle, just the
Copy !req
478. tips.
Copy !req
479. We can go up here and just sort of tap
down and do both the highlight and the
Copy !req
480. shadow at one time.
Copy !req
481. Want that to just drop right in there like
that.
Copy !req
482. See, we put all kinds of little things.
Copy !req
483. This is a thin paint.
Copy !req
484. It's about like liquid white or maybe not,
maybe just a little thicker than liquid
Copy !req
485. white.
Copy !req
486. But it'll make nice highlights that easy
on your trees.
Copy !req
487. There, cause in the winter time you
have all these gorgeous little things
Copy !req
488. that, all the Jack Frost just plays on
them and off they go.
Copy !req
489. Wherever.
Copy !req
490. Something like so.
Copy !req
491. Then down here at his foot, we'll put in a
few little bushes and twigs and sticks, and
Copy !req
492. shoot, we about have a finished painting.
Copy !req
493. Something about like so.
Copy !req
494. There.
Copy !req
495. You could take a tiny bit of white, and
just highlight this tree a little bit, and
Copy !req
496. we'll call this one done.
Copy !req
497. The old clock on the wall tells me it's
time to go.
Copy !req
498. So I hope you've enjoyed this one.
Copy !req
499. And from all of us here, happy painting, and
God bless, my friend.
Copy !req
