1. Welcome back. Certainly glad you could
join me today.
Copy !req
2. Got your paint set up?
Copy !req
3. Ready to do a fantastic painting with me?
Copy !req
4. Good.
Copy !req
5. Tell you what, let's start out and have
them graphically run all the colors
Copy !req
6. across the screen that you need to do this
painting at home with me.
Copy !req
7. And they'll come across, as usual, in the
same order as I have them on the palette, starting
Copy !req
8. with the white and working around.
Copy !req
9. While they're doing that, let's go on up
here in the canvas and talk a little bit.
Copy !req
10. And I'll tell you what, I like to share
things with you.
Copy !req
11. I've got to show you a picture of the
youngest painter that I have met lately.
Copy !req
12. And this is William, and William I met in
Springfield, Missouri.
Copy !req
13. He's four years old, and he is a fantastic
painter.
Copy !req
14. He brought his picture in, let me see it.
Copy !req
15. And certainly glad to have William working
with us.
Copy !req
16. Now, the canvas is an 18 by 24, and I've
completely covered it with a thin, even
Copy !req
17. coat of the liquid white, so it's all
slick and it's ready to go.
Copy !req
18. Yup, let's do it.
Copy !req
19. Let's start out today with a least little
touch, least little touch of cad yellow
Copy !req
20. into the large brush.
Copy !req
21. Just tap a little color in there, okay?
Copy !req
22. And you have to make a decision right off
today.
Copy !req
23. Where's your horizon gonna be?
Copy !req
24. Let's make it right about here.
Copy !req
25. Let's do a, such a beautiful day, let's
do a fantastic, bright, shiny painting
Copy !req
26. today.
Copy !req
27. One that'll make you happy.
Copy !req
28. Put a little bit of yellow in there.
Copy !req
29. Let it blend with the liquid white.
Copy !req
30. Okay, now without cleaning the brush, I'm
going back into yellow ochre.
Copy !req
31. Just tap a little bit of the yellow ochre
right into the same old dirty brush.
Copy !req
32. Okay, now right above the yellow,
Copy !req
33. Gonna add a little touch of the yellow
ochre.
Copy !req
34. Just like so.
Copy !req
35. And let it blend right in also.
Copy !req
36. See how easy that is?
Copy !req
37. Now, without cleaning the brush, I'm going
into a touch of bright red.
Copy !req
38. Just a touch. It's very, very strong.
Copy !req
39. It'll eat up your whole world in one
heartbeat.
Copy !req
40. And just sort of let it play on out
through here.
Copy !req
41. Wherever, wherever.
Copy !req
42. Let it have fun.
Copy !req
43. Now, with what little's left on the brush,
I'm just gonna mix it with a little bit
Copy !req
44. of liquid white on the canvas.
Copy !req
45. And just make sort of a nice little peachy
color right here.
Copy !req
46. Now, very lightly we can blend all this
together.
Copy !req
47. So we have layers of color.
Copy !req
48. Okay, same old dirty brush, add a little
titanium white, and we'll go right in here.
Copy !req
49. I want this area right in here to be nice
and bright and shiny, so I'm gonna add
Copy !req
50. just straight titanium white and work it
in.
Copy !req
51. Now when this is done, this area will be
bright and shiny.
Copy !req
52. It doesn't look shiny now because it's
against a light background, but we're
Copy !req
53. gonna put some dark colors in there
and then it'll happen.
Copy !req
54. Okay, let's take us a little bit of
alizarin crimson,
Copy !req
55. and some phthalo blue, alizarin crimson, phthalo
blue.
Copy !req
56. Proportionately, we need much more crimson
than blue.
Copy !req
57. Just mix it on the brush.
Copy !req
58. Let's go right back up in here.
Copy !req
59. Now let's make a nice lavender color.
Copy !req
60. I'm just gonna go right around in here and
begin spinning in just the indication of
Copy !req
61. some happy little cloud shapes here and
there.
Copy !req
62. Some beautiful little colors happening
here.
Copy !req
63. Just sort of work them in.
Copy !req
64. Just mix them in, blend them.
Copy !req
65. There, make all kinds of little things
just happen.
Copy !req
66. Don't kill all this pink, leave some
of it in there so it shines through the
Copy !req
67. clouds.
Copy !req
68. Okay, a little touch more.
Copy !req
69. Maybe there's a happy little cloud that
just sort of, there he comes, floats right
Copy !req
70. out in there.
Copy !req
71. Wherever you want him.
Copy !req
72. Now I'm gonna add a little bit more
of the phthalo blue.
Copy !req
73. Still haven't cleaned the brush.
Copy !req
74. And then with this phthalo blue, we'll
put a little bit of blue right up here
Copy !req
75. at the top.
Copy !req
76. Like so.
Copy !req
77. See there?
Copy !req
78. Maybe a little touch right there, just to
bring it all together.
Copy !req
79. Now then, time to clean the brush.
Copy !req
80. That's the fun part.
Copy !req
81. Odorless paint thinner.
Copy !req
82. Shake off the excess.
Copy !req
83. And you totally redecorate the studio.
Copy !req
84. Now at home, I suggest you get your brush
beater rack and put it in the bottom of a
Copy !req
85. trash can so you don't change your whole
decor in a matter of seconds.
Copy !req
86. Now with a clean, dry brush, I'm gonna
begin blending this entire sky together.
Copy !req
87. Just very gently.
Copy !req
88. Just sort of mix it up, blend it.
Copy !req
89. Blend it, little circular strokes, criss-cross
strokes, whatever it takes to make some
Copy !req
90. nice effects.
Copy !req
91. Just sort of look at your painting.
Copy !req
92. Each painting is gonna be a little
different.
Copy !req
93. Never can copy, they're always individual.
Copy !req
94. Look at all the beautiful things that
are happening in that sky.
Copy !req
95. Isn't that a super way to make a fantastic
sky very quickly and very easy?
Copy !req
96. Shoot, I used to work myself to death
trying to create a sky like that.
Copy !req
97. It's easy.
Copy !req
98. Very easy, you can do it.
Copy !req
99. You can do it. There we go.
Copy !req
100. That easy, that easy.
Copy !req
101. We have one dynamite sky.
Copy !req
102. Beautiful, beautiful sky.
Copy !req
103. Now you can also see how that light area
just sort of jumps out at you after you
Copy !req
104. put the dark on.
Copy !req
105. Clean the brush.
Copy !req
106. Beat the devil out of it.
Copy !req
107. And we're ready.
Copy !req
108. Tell you what, let's play a little bit
with a little oval brush, and I'm gonna go
Copy !req
109. right in here.
Copy !req
110. Let's take some alizarin crimson, a little
bit of black, and some brown.
Copy !req
111. Put some dark sienna in there too, what
the heck.
Copy !req
112. A little touch of white, just lighten it
up so we can see what we have.
Copy !req
113. Ooh, that's a nice color.
Copy !req
114. Clean the knife off.
Copy !req
115. I just clean the knife on paper towels, you
wonder where I'm going over there.
Copy !req
116. Okay, this is the little oval brush.
Copy !req
117. See, it's round.
Copy !req
118. There you can see it.
Copy !req
119. It's round, okay.
Copy !req
120. Load a little paint on it.
Copy !req
121. Let's have a little footy hill back here
in the distance somewhere.
Copy !req
122. And all I'm gonna do is take this brush
and tap.
Copy !req
123. See, look at all the little, looks like
little tree tops far, far away.
Copy !req
124. Just hundreds of them, that quick.
Copy !req
125. Oh, that's sneaky, huh?
Copy !req
126. Now, I left a little bit of this yellow
underneath, because I want to blend it
Copy !req
127. out and create mist.
Copy !req
128. And I want the mist to have sort of a
yellowish hue to it, so it looks like
Copy !req
129. there's light playing through there.
Copy !req
130. Now, with a large brush, I'm just going to
tap the base of this.
Copy !req
131. Don't touch the top, just the base.
Copy !req
132. Just tapping.
Copy !req
133. Just lift it up, blend it together.
Copy !req
134. Now then, now see the soft, nice misty
area right under here?
Copy !req
135. That's what'll help create the illusion
of distance when we get a little further
Copy !req
136. along in the painting.
Copy !req
137. Now then, gotta make some big decisions.
Copy !req
138. We'll just use that same old color.
Copy !req
139. Same old color, that was, what did we
have there?
Copy !req
140. We had a lizard crimson.
Copy !req
141. some Van Dyke brown, some dark sienna, whatever.
Copy !req
142. You can throw a little black in there too
if you want to.
Copy !req
143. All we're looking for now is a nice
darkish color to lay down for a base coat,
Copy !req
144. and then on top of that we'll put a
light color.
Copy !req
145. Just tap the brush in there.
Copy !req
146. Okay, let's go right up here.
Copy !req
147. Now you have to make big decisions.
Copy !req
148. Let's start creating some land masses
in here.
Copy !req
149. All you do, just touch and tap.
Copy !req
150. Just tap it down right, see there?
Copy !req
151. That easy, that easy.
Copy !req
152. And we can create a nice little land area
back there.
Copy !req
153. You don't want to kill this misty area.
Copy !req
154. This little misty area between the dark
and the foothill is the only thing you
Copy !req
155. have to separate.
Copy !req
156. You need to save it, treasure it.
Copy !req
157. It's your good friend.
Copy !req
158. Good, good friend.
Copy !req
159. Now then, I'll just use the same old dirty
brush.
Copy !req
160. What the heck?
Copy !req
161. I'm lazy, don't like to clean brushes.
Copy !req
162. Take a little yellow, a little cad yellow,
Copy !req
163. Little sap green, we'll jump over here and
get some yellow ochre too.
Copy !req
164. What the heck, it doesn't matter. Tap the
brush, tap it.
Copy !req
165. Okay, let's go right up here.
Copy !req
166. Now then, let's put some little highlights.
Copy !req
167. You need that dark in order to make that
light show.
Copy !req
168. See there?
Copy !req
169. Look at that.
Copy !req
170. Look at that.
Copy !req
171. You can make beautiful, soft little grassy
areas that easy.
Copy !req
172. That easy.
Copy !req
173. Just tap them in, following the lay
of the land.
Copy !req
174. This is where you begin creating the shape
of your land, so it's very important that
Copy !req
175. you pay attention to the angles here.
Copy !req
176. See, and that easy, you have a plain back
here all finished up.
Copy !req
177. Tell you what, I'm gonna get a new brush.
Copy !req
178. Take the same color, we'll use some Vision
Crimson, some black, Dark Sienna, Van Dyke
Copy !req
179. Brown, throw a little Sap Green or two, what
the heck, as long as it's dark, that's
Copy !req
180. a big thing.
Copy !req
181. Tap the brush, okay.
Copy !req
182. Now we have to make another big decision.
Copy !req
183. Maybe there's another plane or another
layer of land that comes right down in
Copy !req
184. front of that one.
Copy !req
185. Maybe like that.
Copy !req
186. See, when you have this much power, you
have to make decisions.
Copy !req
187. You have to make decisions.
Copy !req
188. You can move mountains and rivers.
Copy !req
189. There, and all we're doing here is
applying the dark so our light'll show.
Copy !req
190. Hmm, is that easy that is?
Copy !req
191. In reality, you could put this on with a
paint roller.
Copy !req
192. All you're doing is putting on dark
for base coat.
Copy !req
193. It's gonna be the shadows.
Copy !req
194. It'll be the shadows in all the little
grassy areas here.
Copy !req
195. There.
Copy !req
196. And you're tapping quite firmly here.
Copy !req
197. Just really, this is where you take out
all your hostilities.
Copy !req
198. This is better than going home and arguing
with your spouse or kicking the dog
Copy !req
199. or whatever.
Copy !req
200. Boy, that young fella I showed you at the
beginning of the show, he's some painter, is
Copy !req
201. n't he?
Copy !req
202. As I say, I met him in Springfield, Missouri.
Copy !req
203. We did a show there for the PBS station, and
he came to see us.
Copy !req
204. Fantastic young man.
Copy !req
205. We met so many super people there.
Copy !req
206. Looking forward to going back in the near
future.
Copy !req
207. There.
Copy !req
208. Okay. Okay.
Copy !req
209. I just got carried away here talking and
just cover up the whole canvas.
Copy !req
210. Why not? Let's just cover up the whole
canvas.
Copy !req
211. It doesn't make any difference.
Copy !req
212. There.
Copy !req
213. Okay, just tap.
Copy !req
214. See, I like to leave some of these light
areas in here as a reason I tap instead of
Copy !req
215. just painting all this.
Copy !req
216. Because some of these little light areas
will show through.
Copy !req
217. And it makes, just makes nice looking
places.
Copy !req
218. Okay, tell you what, tell you what let's
do.
Copy !req
219. Let's take, let's use the old round brush,
we'll have some fun.
Copy !req
220. We'll take the round brush and go right
into some Van Dyke brown, a little touch
Copy !req
221. of the dark sienna, and all I'm doing is
tapping very firmly to load it, just tap.
Copy !req
222. Let's go right up here.
Copy !req
223. Maybe there's a little clump of trees that
live right in here.
Copy !req
224. Now start at the bottom and work up.
Copy !req
225. So to pick up the liquid white and get
lighter and lighter in value as it works
Copy !req
226. upward because more light's gonna shine
through these limbs and everything up here.
Copy !req
227. Much more light.
Copy !req
228. There we go.
Copy !req
229. Little touch more of the paint.
Copy !req
230. Maybe there's a happy tree right there.
Copy !req
231. We don't know.
Copy !req
232. Just wherever you want a little tree
to live in your world, that's the right
Copy !req
233. place for it.
Copy !req
234. That is the right place.
Copy !req
235. There we go. Look at that.
Copy !req
236. Already, you got the basic shape of some
nice little trees.
Copy !req
237. Yeah, let's take our old script liner
brush, and I'll just use some paint
Copy !req
238. thinner and go right into the brown.
Copy !req
239. We want to thin this paint down so it's
very thin.
Copy !req
240. Turn the brush, turn it, pull it out.
Copy !req
241. That brings it to a nice sharp point.
Copy !req
242. Let's go up here.
Copy !req
243. Now then, we need a few tree trunks
in here.
Copy !req
244. Now if your paint does not flow, add a
little more of the paint thinner to it.
Copy !req
245. A thin paint will stick to a thick paint.
Copy !req
246. Maybe there's a few out in here.
Copy !req
247. Now at home, you have unlimited time.
Copy !req
248. You can just, you can do a much better job.
Copy !req
249. You can put all kinds of details in here
and little tree branches and limbs and a
Copy !req
250. squirrel or two here and there.
Copy !req
251. Oh, you can get crazy.
Copy !req
252. This is where the little bunny rabbit
hides out.
Copy !req
253. He's my friend.
Copy !req
254. I'm going back into the brown.
Copy !req
255. Right now it looks like all the foliage
is on the back of the tree.
Copy !req
256. I want some on this side too.
Copy !req
257. So using the same color here and there, I'm
just going to tap in a little foliage
Copy !req
258. on this side of the tree.
Copy !req
259. See? That way.
Copy !req
260. Doesn't look like it's all on the other
side of the tree like somebody took a big
Copy !req
261. razor blade and cut your tree in two and
it fell off on the floor.
Copy !req
262. There we go.
Copy !req
263. That easy.
Copy !req
264. Now then, let's get us a big fan brush.
Copy !req
265. I'm gonna take some black, impression blue,
sap green, just a good dark color
Copy !req
266. here.
Copy !req
267. Big side up, clean knife.
Copy !req
268. Let's take the old fan brush and load it
full of paint, a lot of paint.
Copy !req
269. Just really fill it up.
Copy !req
270. Boy, look at that.
Copy !req
271. Lot of paint in there. Okay, let's go up
here.
Copy !req
272. Now maybe there's a happy little evergreen
tree who lives right there.
Copy !req
273. Right there.
Copy !req
274. We don't have anything but happy trees.
Copy !req
275. Just work back and forth.
Copy !req
276. Now see how this dark color shows up
against that light?
Copy !req
277. The contrast there is beautiful.
Copy !req
278. Just really jumps out at you.
Copy !req
279. Really jumps out.
Copy !req
280. That's what makes your painting beautiful.
Copy !req
281. Okay, let me tell you what let's do.
Copy !req
282. Let's make a whole clump of trees.
Copy !req
283. We don't want one old tree laying up here
lonely.
Copy !req
284. You get sad and start crying.
Copy !req
285. Nothing worse than an unhappy tree.
Copy !req
286. Had one bite me one time when I was little.
Copy !req
287. There's one right here.
Copy !req
288. Gotta have a place for the little birds
to sit.
Copy !req
289. They like to hide in these kind of trees.
Copy !req
290. They can hide in there and the hawks
and the stuff can't see them.
Copy !req
291. There we go.
Copy !req
292. And you sort of have to make a decision
here how many trees you want in your world.
Copy !req
293. Tell you what, maybe there's a tiny one
here.
Copy !req
294. Then I'm gonna quit.
Copy !req
295. I get carried away with these trees are so
much fun.
Copy !req
296. Just put a little one right there.
Copy !req
297. Okay, I'm going back to the old brush that
has some of the yellows and greens on it
Copy !req
298. that we were using to make the little
grassy areas.
Copy !req
299. Let's tap a little more of that color in
there.
Copy !req
300. Go right up here.
Copy !req
301. I want to create the illusion of a little
bit of, there, see?
Copy !req
302. Nice, soft little area.
Copy !req
303. We're gonna let that pick up some of this
dark color.
Copy !req
304. Look at there.
Copy !req
305. Just let it work right on out.
Copy !req
306. All you have to do here is just tap.
Copy !req
307. No big deal.
Copy !req
308. Easy to do.
Copy !req
309. See how you can push those trees right
back?
Copy !req
310. I'm gonna get darker and darker and darker
back in here.
Copy !req
311. There's a lot of shadow over here.
Copy !req
312. So don't add any new color.
Copy !req
313. Just use that same old dark color and let
it pick up all the dark and just fade
Copy !req
314. right into nothing.
Copy !req
315. See how soft?
Copy !req
316. You can do it.
Copy !req
317. Maybe there's a nice little thing right
there.
Copy !req
318. I don't know.
Copy !req
319. Okay, let's have some fun.
Copy !req
320. Let's take the knife.
Copy !req
321. I'm gonna use some dark sienna, a little
bit of white, pull it out flat, and cut
Copy !req
322. across to get that little roll of paint, okay?
Copy !req
323. Now then, let's go right up here, and let's
just put the indication of a little
Copy !req
324. tree trunk.
Copy !req
325. Put one in there.
Copy !req
326. Wherever you want them.
Copy !req
327. We don't know how many trees live back
here in this clump.
Copy !req
328. This is a family and they're happy back
here.
Copy !req
329. A few little arms and sticks and twigs.
Copy !req
330. Tell you what, let's do it.
Copy !req
331. Let's use our oval brush.
Copy !req
332. We'll go into some yellow, some yellow, yellow,
some sap green, pull that brush through
Copy !req
333. there, wiggle it, bring it to a nice sharp
edge.
Copy !req
334. Okay, let's go right back up here.
Copy !req
335. Now then, let's come right down here and
let's just put, ooh, look at that, look at
Copy !req
336. that.
Copy !req
337. Look at all the little, this little brush
is just fantastic for making thousands
Copy !req
338. of little limbs there.
Copy !req
339. Just, there they go.
Copy !req
340. See him? Look at all those little devils.
Copy !req
341. And this brush being oval, they're sort of
roundish.
Copy !req
342. It gives it shape.
Copy !req
343. Gives it some character.
Copy !req
344. Put some on this one.
Copy !req
345. Don't want him to get upset because he
doesn't have any.
Copy !req
346. I hope you can see all the little details
that brush makes.
Copy !req
347. There we go. Let's go right over here.
Copy !req
348. There it goes.
Copy !req
349. And you can put as many as you want on
there.
Copy !req
350. Okay.
Copy !req
351. It's such a nice little area.
Copy !req
352. Tell you what, let's build a house back
here.
Copy !req
353. Shoot, let's take some Van Dyke brown, pull
it out, grab us some of that.
Copy !req
354. You have to make a big decision.
Copy !req
355. Maybe the house lives right there.
Copy !req
356. See, right in front of our tree.
Copy !req
357. Put that on, now we'll come over here, let's
put the other side of the roof.
Copy !req
358. Just like building a house.
Copy !req
359. There we go. Just lay in a nice base color,
a dark color.
Copy !req
360. That easy. Now then, we need a front
on him.
Copy !req
361. In your world, you look around and see
what kind of house you want, and you
Copy !req
362. put him in there.
Copy !req
363. Maybe you want to put an old barn in yours.
Copy !req
364. Maybe we'll make this one a barn, who
knows?
Copy !req
365. We'll see what happens here.
Copy !req
366. Sort of look at it and see, making big
decisions later.
Copy !req
367. Okay, I'm gonna take some of the bright
red, and some dark sienna.
Copy !req
368. Now then, let's put a red roof on this one.
Copy !req
369. We'll start here and just let it sort of
bounce.
Copy !req
370. Just boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop,
boop, right down.
Copy !req
371. Got to make that little noise that does
n't work.
Copy !req
372. Do, do, do, do, do, see that?
Copy !req
373. See this old roof? Boy, he's like me.
Copy !req
374. He's old and had a rough life.
Copy !req
375. The rain's coming through on him.
Copy !req
376. Now then, let's take some white, a little
bit of the dark sienna,
Copy !req
377. There, very good.
Copy !req
378. Just touch, no pressure.
Copy !req
379. Old wood, no pressure.
Copy !req
380. Just like when we put snow on the
mountains.
Copy !req
381. No pressure.
Copy !req
382. I like to teach people to put snow on the
mountains, because if you can do that, then
Copy !req
383. all this other stuff with a knife becomes
very easy.
Copy !req
384. It's the best way to make friends with
that knife.
Copy !req
385. Sometimes it's neat to take a tiny bit
of yellow, a little yellow and put in
Copy !req
386. there, see?
Copy !req
387. That's a little yellow ochre.
Copy !req
388. Make it look old and tired.
Copy !req
389. Now, on the other side, very dark, very
dark over here.
Copy !req
390. Just a little indication.
Copy !req
391. Now then, I'll take just a point of the
knife and we'll just make some old boards
Copy !req
392. in here, just by pulling down.
Copy !req
393. Look at that.
Copy !req
394. I wish it was that easy to build a house.
Copy !req
395. There we go.
Copy !req
396. We got the old shed.
Copy !req
397. Now we can chop it up and get our
perspective right.
Copy !req
398. We just did a housectomy.
Copy !req
399. Now, maybe, I'll tell you what, maybe this
old guy's like me.
Copy !req
400. Maybe he ran out of room and had to build
him a shed out here.
Copy !req
401. See?
Copy !req
402. That easy.
Copy !req
403. That easy.
Copy !req
404. Got a little shed.
Copy !req
405. I'm a junk collector, so I'm always
needing a place to put all my stuff.
Copy !req
406. There we go.
Copy !req
407. Little bit of this color out here.
Copy !req
408. Bring it all together. A few little boards.
Copy !req
409. See right there would be a good place
to get the small knife and sneak right
Copy !req
410. in there.
Copy !req
411. Look at that.
Copy !req
412. Little knife comes in handy sometime.
Copy !req
413. Tell you what, when I got that little
knife, take some brown, maybe there's a
Copy !req
414. little window up here.
Copy !req
415. White around it, like so.
Copy !req
416. Shoot, that was so much fun.
Copy !req
417. Let's put a little window right there.
Copy !req
418. See, and just cut around it, let a little
of that color show through, and you're
Copy !req
419. in business.
Copy !req
420. That easy. All right.
Copy !req
421. Now then, let's take, let's take some
yellow on the brush, and now we can use
Copy !req
422. this to sort of clean up his foots.
Copy !req
423. See, tap in all these little grassy things
here.
Copy !req
424. Follow the lay of the land.
Copy !req
425. I'll reach over here and we'll get some
Indian yellow.
Copy !req
426. Here and there, a little touch of the
bright red.
Copy !req
427. Just let that all work together.
Copy !req
428. Look at there.
Copy !req
429. Just layer after layer after layer.
Copy !req
430. Boy, that's one poor looking old house.
Copy !req
431. Carpenter had about as much ambition
as I do.
Copy !req
432. Get lazy.
Copy !req
433. There we go.
Copy !req
434. Just another hill, another hill, and as
many as you want.
Copy !req
435. There.
Copy !req
436. Let's bring some right down in here.
Copy !req
437. Like so.
Copy !req
438. I tell you what, let's do here.
Copy !req
439. Let's have some fun.
Copy !req
440. Get us a bit of a dark color here, some
black and some blue, some sap green.
Copy !req
441. Just good dark color, we don't care what
it is.
Copy !req
442. Doesn't matter.
Copy !req
443. Load the big brush full, we'll have some
fun.
Copy !req
444. Let's do a big evergreen tree on the other
side.
Copy !req
445. You don't want the other side to be left
out.
Copy !req
446. Okay, let's go right here.
Copy !req
447. There he is.
Copy !req
448. Just the corner of the brush.
Copy !req
449. We're sort of working back and forth.
Copy !req
450. And we'll put a big old tree right there.
Copy !req
451. Son of a gun, that's a big tree.
Copy !req
452. It's growing every minute, too.
Copy !req
453. By the time we get through, we may have a
giant redwood.
Copy !req
454. That easy.
Copy !req
455. Let's give him one little friend.
Copy !req
456. We don't want him to get lonely over here.
Copy !req
457. Just like that.
Copy !req
458. We don't care in here, we'll separate that
with highlights.
Copy !req
459. And maybe, see here, we'll just bring the
land mass right down through here.
Copy !req
460. Just put a little color in there.
Copy !req
461. then we can take our yellows, greens, see
here?
Copy !req
462. We need that dark to make this stand out.
Copy !req
463. And then we can just begin tapping in
layer after layer after layer, all these
Copy !req
464. soft little grassy areas.
Copy !req
465. Just let them go.
Copy !req
466. And the more you tap, the smoother and
softer they get.
Copy !req
467. I'm gonna go back to the old oval brush.
Copy !req
468. Load some of the green in it.
Copy !req
469. Oh, I'll tell you what, we need a tree
trunk.
Copy !req
470. We'll take some brown and white.
Copy !req
471. We'll put the indication of a little tree
trunk.
Copy !req
472. Like so.
Copy !req
473. Now with the oval brush, we'll put some, look
at there.
Copy !req
474. Put some leaves on this tree.
Copy !req
475. Make him stand out in the sun and shine.
Copy !req
476. There we go, there we go.
Copy !req
477. Darker, darker, darker as it goes down
toward the base.
Copy !req
478. Little bit right in here.
Copy !req
479. There.
Copy !req
480. All kinds of little things.
Copy !req
481. Let's have some fun.
Copy !req
482. What the heck.
Copy !req
483. I'm gonna take a little, the brown on my
liner brush.
Copy !req
484. Maybe back here in the distance somewhere
there's a little fence.
Copy !req
485. It goes right on off over the hill.
Copy !req
486. We don't know where it goes.
Copy !req
487. A few little indications here and there.
Copy !req
488. Fences are a lot of fun to make, I enjoy
it.
Copy !req
489. Tell you what, let's make a big fence.
Copy !req
490. I'm running out of time here, but we'll
do it anyway, what the heck.
Copy !req
491. There's one, two, three, four, and one
that we can't even see.
Copy !req
492. A little brown and white, give him a
little highlight.
Copy !req
493. like so, and you can put a little fence
in there.
Copy !req
494. We take a little liquid white, cut across
it, just to heal the knife.
Copy !req
495. Look at there, isn't that an easy way
to make wire?
Copy !req
496. You can put as many strands as you want on
there, just that easy.
Copy !req
497. I think we have one that's about ready to
sign.
Copy !req
498. Take a little thinner, a little of the
bright red, and we'll sign this one.
Copy !req
499. Sincerely hope you've enjoyed it.
Copy !req
500. I look forward to seeing you again next
time.
Copy !req
501. And until then, from all of us here, happy
painting, God bless.
Copy !req
