1. - This video has actually been painfully long

2. and painfully like just a struggle

3. and that's what's made it different

4. than any other project I've ever done.

5. It really feels more like an actual theatrical movie

6. that takes you know six or nine months to film.

7. And I mean that's how long it's taken us.

8. But once you get to this point

9. a whole other set of work starts.

10. The edit process, the marketing process,

11. and that's one of the cool reasons I'm actually

12. going to Forza at Microsoft today

13. to actually see the truck coming to life in the video game.

14. And that's incredible.

15. Wow, look at this person.

16. - Wow what a boner! Holy Crap!

17. - And now I think they backed into the curb.

18. - Oh, no!

21. - Chaos on four wheels

22. is a little bit difficult to get right.

49. Honestly, I tell you it feels pretty good,

50. but it isn't— it's actually more violent.

52. I've been playing car video games, you know,

53. since I was a kid, and now I get to go to a place

54. like Forza and see one of our creations

55. come to life inside a video game.

62. - So, these are the last two days of filming Gymkhana.

63. I'm not really like that much of a sentimental person

64. when it comes to this kind of stuff.

65. It's like, let's just move on to the next thing but

66. I know what the plans are moving forward

67. for what we are gonna continue to film with Ken.

68. I don't think there'll ever be a shoot like this again.

73. In Gymkhana 10, we're coming

74. right out of Los Angeles into this,

75. and L.A. is a bit slower, kind of more

76. like tighter moves, so I want this to be like a lot faster.

77. It's difficult 'cause like I want to

78. have a few of the more like what Ken

79. would refer to as like Gymkhana moments.

80. We could start like right there...

81. just right around that corner,

82. come and then slide this corner up the hill

83. and then turn right at the top.

84. - Wrong way, right? - Yeah.

85. - Police-wise we will be fine because

86. - this is 7:00 a.m. Saturday. - Yeah.

87. I hate doing the tech scouts with all of

88. the producers because they just want

89. to know like when's it start and stop,

90. what bumps need to be taken out

91. and it doesn't give you the time

92. to kind of like just sit there

93. and you know, like re-think it.

94. The sweet spot for him to land would be

95. right where the CX-5 is right now.

96. - Right there. That would be the money?

99. - We'll be between 20 and 24 feet long.

100. You want the option of trying to raise it a little too?

103. was we didn't build the, we built the suite

104. and stopped thinking he didn't want it

105. to be any bigger and then he wanted to be bigger.

112. and sometimes you forget like what you're

113. there for which is like finding the best moment of action.

116. like kind of reverse entry into

117. where these tables won't be when you do that.

120. A lot of times I don't hang out with

121. the crews because I'm just trying

122. to stay focused on the job at hand.

123. - To surviving another week in this town.

124. - But on this one, I actually found

125. I was going out every night with the crew,

126. going and eating with them and going

127. and walking around town because I think

128. there's that like, man even though I'm

129. gonna see those guys on other shoots

130. and stuff like that, this will never be the same.

135. I think he's already reached panic mode

136. and like, it's not even like 8:15 yet.

137. Hey guys, how you guys doing?

138. - I've already had my car lost once today.

139. - [Man 2] They couldn't find it.

140. - For a minute there I thought you

141. were drinking a long drink.

142. I was like, damn, Matt's in the mood.

143. - I've never actually tried to get around this city.

144. - That's what Derek said.

145. Derek was like, I've never been here.

146. Like, I've been to all the rallies,

147. like I never actually get here.

148. - Well, the first time I ever came here was in 2006

149. with both Travis and Ken racing here.

150. In the United States it was really strict,

151. like you do not speed on transits.

152. If you're caught speeding in Rally America,

153. you're disqualified, that's it.

154. Like, if you get a speeding ticket, you lose the race.

155. That's how like Travis and Ken are thinking.

156. So, Lucy and I are standing at some spot

157. and we were seeing Travis coming down

158. and he's, you know, sitting at like 55 miles an hour

159. on the road and all of a sudden Sebastian Loeb

160. passes him at like 120 on the shoulder, half on the dirt.

161. You just see like Travis drop three gears

162. and just go chasing him.

163. Then after that I think it became these guys' favorite

164. rally because the police want them to drive like that.

165. If you come into a roundabout and the Federales are

166. standing there, and you don't slide it, they're booing you.

167. - And everyone on their pickup truck with like 15 people

168. will just cheer like if you're going fast.

169. - So we'd be down here, you know, covering the rally

170. and chasing the rally, and we'd have the official

171. rally stickers on the rental cars, which also meant

172. that we were allowed to do whatever we wanted.

173. Derek sent me this last night.

174. - This was Mexico. - This is a rental car.

175. - This is a rental car chasing in Mexico.

176. - Then I would post rental car pictures on social media

177. and then Derek would be like, take it down.

178. - Mexico will always have that like special place

179. for us in the team because it was this like major moment

180. where we went from this American race team

181. to we are going to try the WRC, and we actually

182. proved to be somewhat successful at the first event.

183. - This is a good corner right here.

184. I just hope the cobblestone smokes up as much.

185. - It won't, though.

186. - Just got to bleach the fuck out of the tires.

187. - I've always said that, just let them

188. fucking soak the night before in bleach.

189. You say that to race car people like

190. Derek and he's like mate, mate.

191. I love this place because it's connected

192. to where this all started for us.

193. - Really quite cool and I think the highest

194. placing I ever had in the WRC, like seventh

195. overall or something, was in this race.

196. To come back to where it basically started for me

197. and do this video part, it's really quite cool.

198. Okay, so in the city of GTO, they use these very ornate

199. stanchions on the side of the road because

200. obviously pedestrians are walking on the road.

201. Obviously, they're made out of steel.

202. If the car hit it's just big, like, just not good.

203. We need to have them in one of the shots, but can

204. we figure out a way of making them out of

205. something else so they don't kill us?

206. So over here, we have Juan Carlos

207. and we have Ricardo.

208. This is the initial process, which is latex right?

209. So you apply the latex to it, let the latex set,

210. put a hard coat of fiberglass over the latex.

211. We put, basically, the mold together again,

212. inject it with foam, and then let it set,

213. and then open the mold again and boom.

214. We've got like an identical one of these in foam.

215. - When we first came scouting in GTO,

216. about a month ago, this ramp was set up in the square.

217. When we came back, it had been disassembled.

218. It was brought to this yard.

219. It's got diamond plate on the top, which

220. is what Ken loves for traction, and then

221. I'm gonna have the guys at the shop here

222. custom weld new legs for us, but they'll

223. be adjustable too so we can literally

224. lift the ramp up, put a peg through it,

225. and we can raise it up and then keep doing that

226. till you know we get a big, big jump out of him.

227. It's gonna be like San Francisco

228. when he hit Russian Hill.

229. He said he was gonna do about 135 feet and holy shit.

230. He ended up doing like 170 feet.

231. We thought he was gonna be maybe six feet off the ground.

232. He was like eight feet off the ground.

233. It was insane and I've never seen anything like it.

234. He just drove over all the GoPros.

235. We see these GoPros flying everywhere.

236. I'm getting pretty nostalgic about it actually.

237. You keep thinking oh well then we're going

238. to the next city and oh yeah after this one

239. we're going next and we're gonna scout there.

240. You just feel like it keeps going

241. and going and going but we're, this is it.

243. You could probably definitely get some footage

247. - The rain days are the worst because

248. you're just sitting and kind of like waiting.

252. - My fear is that if we're not here at the market soon enough,

256. is most of the city drains into the tunnels.

257. So, we're supposed to shoot tunnels first up today

258. and even if it's dry, the tunnels might still be wet.

259. I mean yesterday it was dry but it

260. was still too wet to drive.

261. - The good news is all the parking is open.

262. So all the cars are gone. It's a good start.

263. - Margin of error here is so small

264. because all the roads are really narrow

265. and the curbs are really high.

266. We were already concerned on just it being dry.

267. There's not a single thing here

268. that doesn't have like a day-ending consequence.

269. - So it's thumbs up in fifteen minutes?

513. bit of action will be a tunnel jump up in the hills.

552. some Rallycross, doing some stage rally.

559. a handful of projects in terms of video stuff every year

566. a different vocalist or whatever and it's still your
