- Mom! Mom!Copy !req
11. - Mom, the monster!
- Baby, what are you doing? What's wrong?Copy !req
12. - Mom, there's a monster in there.
- Holly, slow down. I can't understand you!Copy !req
13. - Mom, there's a monster. The mon—
- Holly.Copy !req
14. Whatever you saw, baby,
it was just a nightmare.Copy !req
15. - No, Mom! Mom!
- Baby, it's just a nightmare!Copy !req
16. I saw it. Please trust me, Mom.Copy !req
17. Please, Mom, please.
You gotta believe me. Please.Copy !req
18. What the heck?Copy !req
19. What's your location? Over.Copy !req
20. Pickett, five minutes away.Copy !req
21. You're way ahead of us.
Radio as soon as you're there!Copy !req
22. I will.Copy !req
23. And Nancy, be careful.Copy !req
24. Hold on.Copy !req
25. There was something
In the air that nightCopy !req
26. The stars were bright, FernandoCopy !req
27. They were shining there for you and meCopy !req
28. For liberty, FernandoCopy !req
29. Though we never thought
That we could loseCopy !req
30. There's no regretCopy !req
31. If I had to do the same againCopy !req
32. There was something
In the air that nightCopy !req
33. The stars were bright, FernandoCopy !req
34. Karen!Copy !req
35. Heavens to Betsy.Copy !req
36. Karen!Copy !req
37. Everything all right?Copy !req
38. Holly?Copy !req
39. Holly!Copy !req
40. Holy smokes.Copy !req
41. Oh God. Hey. Stay back. Stay back!Copy !req
42. Back!Copy !req
43. Go! Go!Copy !req
44. Mom!Copy !req
45. Oh, God!Copy !req
46. Holly, get back!Copy !req
47. Stay away from my daughter!Copy !req
48. Mom, no!Copy !req
49. It's inside.Copy !req
50. I see it. Get ready.Copy !req
51. Nancy, what's going on?
Talk to me! What's happening?Copy !req
52. Nancy!Copy !req
53. Stay away from my daughter!Copy !req
54. Mom!Copy !req
55. Don't try to talk, okay?
Just stay calm, okay?Copy !req
56. You're gonna be fine.
It's gonna be fine, okay?Copy !req
57. You're gonna be fine.Copy !req
58. Holly.Copy !req
59. Go. Go, go, go, go! Go!Copy !req
60. You're gonna be okay, Mom.
I'm right here. Just stay with me. Okay?Copy !req
61. Can you do that?
Can you please stay with me?Copy !req
62. I promise
I won't let anything happen to you.Copy !req
63. I'm gonna get you help.
I just need you to hold on, okay?Copy !req
64. Just hold on.Copy !req
65. Vitals. Talk to me.Copy !req
66. Female, 46 years old.Copy !req
67. - Heart rate 120. BP 103/67.
- Got a male, late forties.Copy !req
68. Multiple blunt impact. Weak abdominal…Copy !req
69. Pulse is thready and weak.Copy !req
70. Lacerations to the right anterior chest
and penetrating neck trauma.Copy !req
71. We're right here. You're okay.Copy !req
72. I'm sorry. You have to wait outside.Copy !req
73. - Can't we stay with them?
- We have to let the doctors do their job.Copy !req
74. We'll update you
as soon as we know something, okay? Okay?Copy !req
75. I can't see a damn thing.Copy !req
76. Cross-match, get to the bag.Copy !req
77. Where's my X-ray cart?Copy !req
78. - Maybe four broken ribs.
- Stand by to intubate.Copy !req
79. This is our fault.Copy !req
80. This is all our fault.Copy !req
81. We got there as fast as we could.Copy !req
82. I'm not talking about tonight.Copy !req
83. We could have acted yesterday,
last week, last fall.Copy !req
84. We could've tried
to get them out of Hawkins,Copy !req
85. or… or at least told them the truth.Copy !req
86. We could have done something, anything.Copy !req
87. We couldn't have known
any of this would happen.Copy !req
88. Do you really believe that?Copy !req
89. After all this time, it comes for Holly?Copy !req
90. Holly, who has nothing to do
with any of this.Copy !req
91. It makes no goddamn sense.Copy !req
92. It makes perfect goddamn sense.Copy !req
93. Vecna told me this would happen.Copy !req
94. He showed me.Copy !req
95. And not just the four gates.Copy !req
96. Holly, Mom, Dad dead.Copy !req
97. And we just…
we just chose not to believe him.Copy !req
98. But now it's all coming true.
Like, don't you get it, Mike?Copy !req
99. Vecna's come back
to realize his vision, to punish us.Copy !req
100. He did it with Fred and Chrissy and Max,Copy !req
101. and now it's our turn.Copy !req
102. And he's not gonna stop.Copy !req
103. He's not gonna stop until we're drained
of every last ounce of suffering.Copy !req
104. I'm not so sure this was about punishment.Copy !req
105. Vecna doesn't leave things unfinished.Copy !req
106. He doesn't hold back.Copy !req
107. Because if this was really about
making you guys suffer,Copy !req
108. why leave your parents alive?Copy !req
109. Why take Holly into the Upside DownCopy !req
110. and not leave her body here
for you to find?Copy !req
111. Why not come here himself?Copy !req
112. Why send one of his… his pets?Copy !req
113. What are you saying? It's not Vecna?Copy !req
114. What I'm saying is I don't know,Copy !req
115. and neither do you.Copy !req
116. There are just too many questions
right now.Copy !req
117. I… I just know I'm having serious déjà vu,Copy !req
118. because this is
exactly what happened to WillCopy !req
119. at almost exactly the same time.Copy !req
120. You know what date it is, right?Copy !req
121. November 3rd.Copy !req
122. Will was taken on the 6th.Copy !req
123. We are less than three days away.Copy !req
124. Three days away
from the day that changed everything.Copy !req
125. I don't know about you guys, but…Copy !req
126. …I don't believe in coincidences.Copy !req
127. Not anymore.Copy !req
128. But we got Will back.Copy !req
129. And we're going to get Holly back,
'cause she's not alone.Copy !req
130. Eleven's in there with her.Copy !req
131. And if anybody can save your sister—Copy !req
132. It's El.Copy !req
133. It's El.Copy !req
134. Stay indoors!Copy !req
135. Stay inside!Copy !req
136. The daughter found her mother here.Copy !req
137. We believe Mrs. Wheeler was trying
to escape when she was attacked.Copy !req
138. And no one saw this intruder?Copy !req
139. No. By the time she got home,
the intruder was gone,Copy !req
140. along with her sister.Copy !req
141. The daughter, she arrive alone?Copy !req
142. That's what she told us, sir.Copy !req
143. I want you to pull up
all video surveillanceCopy !req
144. within a two-mile radius of this house.Copy !req
145. - You think it could be her, sir?
- Now.Copy !req
146. Holly! Holly!Copy !req
147. Holly!Copy !req
148. Hop.Copy !req
149. Hop!Copy !req
150. Hop?Copy !req
151. I'm sorry. Are you okay?Copy !req
152. El.Copy !req
153. How are you here?Copy !req
154. Wait. Wait.Copy !req
155. Wait. You gotta…Copy !req
156. You gotta get out of here. It's not safe.Copy !req
157. - There's—
- A Demogorgon.Copy !req
158. I know. It's bleeding.Copy !req
159. She must have hurt it.Copy !req
160. What? Who?Copy !req
161. Karen. With her wine.Copy !req
162. What?Copy !req
163. When I search for Holly,
I can't find her, but she must be close.Copy !req
164. - Holly?
- We just need to find the blood.Copy !req
165. Holly Wheeler? What are you…Copy !req
166. El, wait! Goddamn it!Copy !req
167. Whoa.Copy !req
168. It's like everything went kablooey
all at once.Copy !req
169. Has this kind of thing happened
with his visions before?Copy !req
170. Where the lights go kooky
and electronics short-circuit?Copy !req
171. No.Copy !req
172. So this is just, like,
a fun, new development.Copy !req
173. Aren't there any backup fuses
or something?Copy !req
174. Yeah, in storage, I think so.
I mean, I hope so, right?Copy !req
175. Oh! Uh… You'd like me to go get them?Copy !req
176. - Yeah.
- Right.Copy !req
177. Uh, of course. I am totally on it.Copy !req
178. I… I'll be right back.Copy !req
179. I know it's hard to talk about,Copy !req
180. but these… these visions,Copy !req
181. were they like before?Copy !req
182. Like when you had your now memories?Copy !req
183. Only more intense.Copy !req
184. It's like I was there. I was right there.Copy !req
185. It's… It's like I was the Demogorgon.Copy !req
186. I was seeing what it was seeing
and thinking what it was thinking.Copy !req
187. Do you have any idea
why it would go after the Wheelers,Copy !req
188. take Holly?Copy !req
189. I don't… I'm not sure. It's…Copy !req
190. It's so hard to remember everything.
It's… It's almost like a dream.Copy !req
191. This doesn't make any sense. I…Copy !req
192. I… I must have somehow
tapped back into the hive mind.Copy !req
193. But we severed the connection.Copy !req
194. I don't think it was ever… truly severed.Copy !req
195. Ever since he took me, it's like I… I was…Copy !req
196. permanently changed.Copy !req
197. These feelings of connection,
they come and go.Copy !req
198. But that summer, after the gate opened,Copy !req
199. I felt him again.Copy !req
200. And it went away when I was in California.Copy !req
201. But the day after I got back,Copy !req
202. the feeling returned.Copy !req
203. And now he's closer.Copy !req
204. He's closer than ever before.Copy !req
205. Maybe you're like a receiver.Copy !req
206. You know, like a radio receiver,
just a magical human version.Copy !req
207. - I… I don't follow.
- Okay.Copy !req
208. Imagine that you have an antenna
coming up from the top of your head.Copy !req
209. And Vecna, he uses
Mind Flayer particles like radio waves.Copy !req
210. When the antenna is close to the waves,
the signal comes through clear as day.Copy !req
211. But if you're too far away…Copy !req
212. Static.Copy !req
213. So maybe that's how we do it.Copy !req
214. That's how we find Holly.Copy !req
215. What, with your antenna?Copy !req
216. Earlier, I had a vision
in the woods near the school.Copy !req
217. I didn't understand it at the time,Copy !req
218. but maybe I was seeing
through the Demogorgon's eyes then too.Copy !req
219. And maybe if I go back there,Copy !req
220. I can connect back to the hive mind,
to the signal.Copy !req
221. Will.Copy !req
222. - I've spied on Vecna before.
- And he took control of you.Copy !req
223. - I know, but—
- You almost died.Copy !req
224. And Holly will too
if we don't do something.Copy !req
225. We are doing something.Copy !req
226. Replacing fuses?Copy !req
227. We've got to get the Squawk back up
so we can find Hopper.Copy !req
228. Hopper, right.
This is about your boyfriend.Copy !req
229. He's our only connection
to the Upside Down, to El.Copy !req
230. How does that get us closer to Holly?Copy !req
231. She's in there, Mom, all alone.
I know what that's like.Copy !req
232. I won't just leave her there.Copy !req
233. We're gonna get her back,Copy !req
234. but we're not gonna risk your life
while doing it.Copy !req
235. - Are you just gonna stand there?
- Right.Copy !req
236. Uh, intimate family moment. Sorry.Copy !req
237. Fuses, power. On it.Copy !req
238. How long is this gonna take?Copy !req
239. Not too long.Copy !req
240. We just gotta let this sucker charge
for a few minutes, then hopefully…Copy !req
241. vroom, vroom.Copy !req
242. Bopper, while we wait?Copy !req
243. Well, this better be quick.Copy !req
244. Our good Samaritan's turning sour.
I think she might have placed me.Copy !req
245. - Placed you?
- Stood up her sister. Multiple occasions.Copy !req
246. Great.Copy !req
247. Did you get a hold of Nance?Copy !req
248. Dad's in an induced coma,
and Mom's in surgery.Copy !req
249. They're not gonna know anything
for a couple hours.Copy !req
250. Jesus Christ, man.Copy !req
251. Yeah.Copy !req
252. You think we should go see her
at the hospital?Copy !req
253. I mean, if we can get
this hunk of junk moving.Copy !req
254. Mmm…Copy !req
255. No. No, we stick to the plan.Copy !req
256. Search Zone G1.Copy !req
257. - Find Hopper, find Eleven and find Holly.
- Right.Copy !req
258. Just… That seems complicated.Copy !req
259. Like, it might take a lot of time.Copy !req
260. Okay.Copy !req
261. You know, the hospital is on the way.Copy !req
262. We could just swing by,Copy !req
263. bring Nance, like, flowers or something.Copy !req
264. Jesus Christ.Copy !req
265. What?Copy !req
266. I just thought that,
tonight of all nights,Copy !req
267. you might just give it a rest.Copy !req
268. Give what a rest?Copy !req
269. This bullshit macho competition
for Nancy's attention.Copy !req
270. - What are you talking about?
- What am I talking about?Copy !req
271. - Yeah.
- Really?Copy !req
272. Dude, ever since I got back from Lenora,
you are constantly showing off for her.Copy !req
273. How you're better than me!Copy !req
274. Which is shitty enough on a normal day,Copy !req
275. but now her parents are fighting
for their lives, her sister is missing,Copy !req
276. and all you can think about
is giving her flowers.Copy !req
277. You selfish, chauvinistic meathead!Copy !req
278. You know what, Byers?Copy !req
279. You're totally right.Copy !req
280. Me worrying about
my good friend, my friend,Copy !req
281. that makes me the selfish one here.Copy !req
282. Or maybe, just maybe,
you're the problem, dude.Copy !req
283. Ever since you got back,Copy !req
284. you've been acting
like a paranoid pothead weirdo.Copy !req
285. And maybe if you stopped focusing on me
and started focusing on her,Copy !req
286. maybe then the two of you
would finally be happy.Copy !req
287. Because right now, the only oneCopy !req
288. who's more miserable
in that relationship than you…Copy !req
289. is Nance.Copy !req
290. You've got to be shitting me.Copy !req
291. And you got there how, exactly?Copy !req
292. Get where?Copy !req
293. The Wheeler house.
Did you take the Henderson shelter?Copy !req
294. No. Nancy drove me.Copy !req
295. Nancy drove you?Copy !req
296. Yes.Copy !req
297. We don't drive ever, do we?Copy !req
298. - Do we?
- No.Copy !req
299. No, we take the tunnels,Copy !req
300. and we don't surface until it's clear,
until it's safe.Copy !req
301. I wore my hoodie.Copy !req
302. Oh, well, geez, that's great.Copy !req
303. I don't know why we've been
crawling around in the mud all this time.Copy !req
304. We should've just drove you around
in your hoodie.Copy !req
305. The tunnels are too slow.Copy !req
306. Holly was in danger.Copy !req
307. Yeah, and now so are you.Copy !req
308. If those military guys haven't already
caught you on camera, they will.Copy !req
309. And when they do,Copy !req
310. they'll be coming for you
with everything they got.Copy !req
311. Then we have to end this
before they find us.Copy !req
312. Is that what this is about, ending this?Copy !req
313. The Demogorgon can lead us to Vecna.Copy !req
314. How?Copy !req
315. When I searched for Holly,
I could not find her, just like Vecna.Copy !req
316. So maybe wherever she is, he is,
where my powers cannot reach.Copy !req
317. I'm sorry.
So your… your theory is what, exactly?Copy !req
318. It's that the Demogorgon has taken
little Holly Wheeler to VecnaCopy !req
319. as some kind of early Christmas present?Copy !req
320. What does Vecna want with Holly Wheeler?
What… How does any of this make sense?Copy !req
321. - I don't know!
- Exactly, you don't know.Copy !req
322. Because you haven't put any thought
into anything you've been doing tonight.Copy !req
323. You've been acting on impulse, on emotion,
everything I taught you not to do!Copy !req
324. Goddamn it…Copy !req
325. More blood than before.Copy !req
326. It's slowing down.Copy !req
327. We can still catch it.Copy !req
328. And not emotion.Copy !req
329. Instinct.Copy !req
330. We don't know where Hop or El are,Copy !req
331. or if they found each other or Holly,
or… or anything.Copy !req
332. We're totally in the dark up here.Copy !req
333. You don't wanna hurt meCopy !req
334. I wish I… I had better news.Copy !req
335. Hopefully my next update will beCopy !req
336. something like El and Hop saved Holly,
and killed Vecna,Copy !req
337. and everyone's back home
celebrating and everything.Copy !req
338. But if I've learned anything
over the years…Copy !req
339. it's never gonna be that easy.Copy !req
340. El's amazing.Copy !req
341. But she can't do this alone.
She's gonna need all the help she can get.Copy !req
342. She's going to need the party,
the full party.Copy !req
343. Which is why I'm here.Copy !req
344. The final battle…Copy !req
345. I feel like it started tonight.Copy !req
346. And Max, we can't win this without you.Copy !req
347. If my theory is right,
we're running out of time.Copy !req
348. So if you're planning on resurrecting
anytime soon, now… now is the time.Copy !req
349. Even a sign would be enough
to show me you're still in there.Copy !req
350. Please, Max.Copy !req
351. Please.Copy !req
352. Wake up.Copy !req
353. Just… something.Copy !req
354. I miss you.Copy !req
355. Oh, come on, angel
Come on, come on, darlin'Copy !req
356. Let's exchange the experienceCopy !req
357. Okay, so, you're not gonna believe this,Copy !req
358. but she still won't give us a timeline
on seeing Mom.Copy !req
359. And… And I wasn't even asking to see Mom.Copy !req
360. I was just asking to talk to the doctor,
and she just kept saying…Copy !req
361. Mike. Mike, are you listening?Copy !req
362. Yeah. Yeah, no. Uh…Copy !req
363. I was thinking about
something Lucas said earlier,Copy !req
364. about how he doesn't believe
in coincidences anymore, and…Copy !req
365. Did Holly ever talk to you
about Mr. Whatsit?Copy !req
366. Her… imaginary friend from the book?Copy !req
367. Well, yeah, it's Mrs. Whatsit in the book.
So… So, this is her own creation.Copy !req
368. At least that's what I thought.Copy !req
369. When I went to pick her up
from school today,Copy !req
370. she said that Mr. Whatsit told her
that there were monsters in Hawkins.Copy !req
371. And he warned her that these monsters,
they were coming for her.Copy !req
372. And on the same day,
she's actually taken by a monster?Copy !req
373. I mean, as far as coincidences go,
that's a hell of a one.Copy !req
374. And your theory is… what exactly?Copy !req
375. What if Mr. Whatsit isn't a figment
of Holly's imagination?Copy !req
376. - What if he's real?
- Real?Copy !req
377. Yeah, what if?Copy !req
378. It… It doesn't make sense.
How have we never seen him?Copy !req
379. Maybe we have, and we just didn't know.Copy !req
380. - So who the hell is he?
- I don't know.Copy !req
381. - How does he know that Holly's in danger?
- I don't know.Copy !req
382. If he was so worried,
then why wouldn't he warn us or MomCopy !req
383. or do something about it?Copy !req
384. I don't know, Nance.Copy !req
385. My theory, it has holes.Copy !req
386. You were right
about what you said earlier.Copy !req
387. We could have done more
to protect Mom and Dad and Holly, and…Copy !req
388. I don't want to have any more regrets.Copy !req
389. And maybe my theory is wrong.Copy !req
390. But if it isn't, if Mr. Whatsit is real,
then he would know things.Copy !req
391. Like why Holly was taken,
or… or maybe even—Copy !req
392. Where she was taken.Copy !req
393. And how do you propose
we go about finding out who this guy is?Copy !req
394. I was kind of hoping you'd tell me.Copy !req
395. You're the genius investigative reporter
after all.Copy !req
396. That's not fair. Appealing to my ego.Copy !req
397. Okay. I'm gonna need you
to talk to that receptionistCopy !req
398. and do your best sad,
lost boy, puppy dog thing.Copy !req
399. My what? Why?Copy !req
400. Because she hates me, and you're cute,
and we're gonna need her helpCopy !req
401. if we want to get close to the one person
who knows about Mr. Whatsit,Copy !req
402. Mom.Copy !req
403. And by sheer luck,
Jessica was coming back from a party,Copy !req
404. and I charmed my way
into getting us a jump.Copy !req
405. Which brings us to you,
arriving looking like Rocky Balboa.Copy !req
406. So basically, of all the crawls,
this was, like, the one to miss.Copy !req
407. So, well done, Henderson.
Really, really, like, well done.Copy !req
408. Speechless. That's new.Copy !req
409. I'm still processing, Steve. It's a lot.Copy !req
410. Holly?Copy !req
411. Why Holly?Copy !req
412. Well, maybe Eleven could tell us,
but it's a bit difficult to contact herCopy !req
413. now that we've lost our connection
to the Upside Down.Copy !req
414. Okay. For the future, when the lights go
from really bright to really dim,Copy !req
415. it means the generator is surging
so you have to turn everything off.Copy !req
416. - Wow. Great.
- Immediately.Copy !req
417. Thank you. I'll remember that
the next time that happens.Copy !req
418. Or, maybe, and this is just a suggestion,
you could be where you're supposed to be.Copy !req
419. I was en route to the Squawk.Copy !req
420. When you fell off your bike. That's right.Copy !req
421. Remind me. What did you fall into again?
A knuckle sandwich?Copy !req
422. Hey, can you keep it down up there?Copy !req
423. I'm listening for a signal back here,
in case you forgot.Copy !req
424. Who was it?
It was Andy and his goons, wasn't it?Copy !req
425. You poked the bear one too many times.Copy !req
426. Your concern for me
is overwhelming, Steve.Copy !req
427. My concern?Copy !req
428. I have shown nothing but concern for you
since forever,Copy !req
429. and I have been repeatedly ignored,
and now look what's happened.Copy !req
430. We are totally screwed.Copy !req
431. Correction, we are screwed
because you don't knowCopy !req
432. how to do the most basic thing
like prevent a power surge.Copy !req
433. - See, this right here is your problem.
- It's the easiest thing in the world.Copy !req
434. - You can't admit you were wrong.
- My mother could prevent a surge.Copy !req
435. - You can't admit it.
- Shockingly, I think your mother—Copy !req
436. Jesus Christ! Just do it for once!Copy !req
437. Just admit it, Henderson.
You're wrong! You screwed up!Copy !req
438. Hey! Can you guys shut the hell up?Copy !req
439. Jesus Christ.Copy !req
440. You two seem to be getting along.Copy !req
441. Yeah, well, in this case,
I actually like his suggestion.Copy !req
442. - I don't wanna talk to you.
- I don't wanna talk to you either.Copy !req
443. Good.Copy !req
444. Good.Copy !req
445. This is Dungeon Master
to Scout Battalion. Do you copy? Over.Copy !req
446. This is Dungeon Master to Scout Battalion.Copy !req
447. Do you copy? Over.Copy !req
448. This is Dungeon Master to Scout Battalion.
Do you copy? Over.Copy !req
449. Great Scott!Copy !req
450. - How long has that light been red?
- Oh. I don't know.Copy !req
451. Shit, shit, shit!
The flux capacitor is down again.Copy !req
452. - Is that bad?
- I mean, it could be.Copy !req
453. It's fixable, but it's a two-man job.Copy !req
454. Come on.Copy !req
455. We'll be right back.Copy !req
456. Flux capacitor?Copy !req
457. Shh! I was lying, obviously.
That light is always red.Copy !req
458. Everything's totally fine, except…Copy !req
459. - Whoa.
- Except for your mom's plan.Copy !req
460. I mean, no offense to your mom,
but come on.Copy !req
461. The boys have already circled Zone G1,
like, five times.Copy !req
462. Even if they miraculously find Hopper,
where does that get us exactly?Copy !req
463. I mean, Holly is still missing.Copy !req
464. Whereas your plan is genius.Copy !req
465. - You think so?
- Totally.Copy !req
466. You got an antenna in your head, use it.Copy !req
467. The Enigma machine won the war.
Knowledge is power.Copy !req
468. - So…
- So… So, you want to…Copy !req
469. Skip school, play hooky,Copy !req
470. connect your brain into
an interdimensional monster's signal,Copy !req
471. and save little Wheeler?Copy !req
472. Yeah, kind of.Copy !req
473. I mean, your mom is gonna be raging mad,Copy !req
474. and she's probably right.Copy !req
475. It is super dangerous, but…Copy !req
476. Isn't everything we do super dangerous?Copy !req
477. Precisely. So what do you say?Copy !req
478. This is Dungeon Master to Scout Battalion.Copy !req
479. Screw it.Copy !req
480. When were these taken?Copy !req
481. Three hours ago, give or take.Copy !req
482. We've had sightings before.Copy !req
483. - Yes, but this time is different.
- Different.Copy !req
484. Don't interrupt me again
until you have her in custody.Copy !req
485. She's here, Dr. Kay.Copy !req
486. What do you mean, "here"?Copy !req
487. Hey, come on. Slow down. Hang on.Copy !req
488. I found more blood. It must be close.Copy !req
489. Oh, you goddamn stubborn punk-ass…Copy !req
490. What are you doing?Copy !req
491. We're gonna lose her.Copy !req
492. It's just a cramp. It's just old age.
Just give me a second.Copy !req
493. - Hey.
- No, hey. Hey! Ahh!Copy !req
494. Looks worse than it is.Copy !req
495. Where did you learn to do this?Copy !req
496. Max.Copy !req
497. First clean, then disinfect, then bandage.Copy !req
498. - Stop moving.
- Yeah, well, it stings. It stings!Copy !req
499. That means it's working.Copy !req
500. You're more like me
than I'd like to admit.Copy !req
501. What, a stubborn punk-ass?Copy !req
502. You heard that?Copy !req
503. You talk loud.Copy !req
504. Yeah, I guess I am a stubborn punk-ass.Copy !req
505. Or at least I was.Copy !req
506. I never listened to my pops either.Copy !req
507. Always thought I knew best.Copy !req
508. Pissed him right off.Copy !req
509. I remember one day it got so heated,
he took me to the recruitment office.Copy !req
510. He made me enlist right there.Copy !req
511. He thought the Army would do me some good.
Give me some structure, discipline.Copy !req
512. The thing was,
I thought I was smarter than the officers.Copy !req
513. Were you?Copy !req
514. Sometimes.Copy !req
515. But mostly, no, I was just dumb.Copy !req
516. Naive.Copy !req
517. I used to trust my gut and my instinct.Copy !req
518. Never… Like you.Copy !req
519. Did a lot of crazy things in that war.
Reckless things.Copy !req
520. You might call them brave,Copy !req
521. but there's a fine line
between bravery and stupidity.Copy !req
522. Saw a lot of brave men die in that war.Copy !req
523. Friends of mine.Copy !req
524. My daughter…Copy !req
525. Sara.Copy !req
526. She was brave.Copy !req
527. Bravest person I ever knew.Copy !req
528. She stared death in the face.
She never got scared. She never wavered.Copy !req
529. Fought her heart out.Copy !req
530. The doctors said
they never saw anything like it.Copy !req
531. They thought she was gonna make it too.Copy !req
532. So, that's why you don't want me in here?Copy !req
533. Because you think Vecna will win,Copy !req
534. and I will die?Copy !req
535. I don't think…Copy !req
536. I don't think anything. I've just…Copy !req
537. Just been around long enough to know that…Copy !req
538. you can't count on anything in this life.Copy !req
539. I don't want to lose you.Copy !req
540. I won't.Copy !req
541. Which is why whatever happens
from here on out,Copy !req
542. wherever this blood leads,Copy !req
543. I need you to do what I say.Copy !req
544. So don't be a stubborn punk-ass like you?Copy !req
545. Yeah, don't be a stubborn punk-ass.Copy !req
546. Hey, hey, hey!Copy !req
547. I lead.Copy !req
548. So sorry to disturb you, Doctor,
but it's the Wheeler children.Copy !req
549. What about them?Copy !req
550. They say they need to speak to you.
They say it's—Copy !req
551. An emergency!Copy !req
552. What kind of emergency?Copy !req
553. Our… Our sister,
she's missing, as you know.Copy !req
554. I understand. And I'm very sorry.Copy !req
555. Well, we think our mom has something.Copy !req
556. Or knows something.Copy !req
557. About our sister,
about finding our sister.Copy !req
558. And I wish I could get you in to see her.Copy !req
559. But your mother's recovering from surgery.
Her system is still in shock.Copy !req
560. And beyond that,
her larynx is extremely damaged.Copy !req
561. She wouldn't be able to talk,
even if she were awake.Copy !req
562. Right, but even so—Copy !req
563. Listen to me.Copy !req
564. Finding your mother
when you did saved her life.Copy !req
565. Let's not risk it now.Copy !req
566. All right, sweetheart.Copy !req
567. What now?Copy !req
568. So we need to change sheets in 307.Copy !req
569. Rooms 202 and 203 are vacant.
And they need mopping.Copy !req
570. Denise needs help later…Copy !req
571. - What?
- Come on.Copy !req
572. - What are we doing?
- Ignoring doctor's orders.Copy !req
573. - He said it's too risky.
- When has that stopped us before?Copy !req
574. Besides, did you smell his breath?Copy !req
575. I don't trust doctors who smoke…Copy !req
576. or call me "sweetheart."Copy !req
577. Hey, man, I'm gonna turn on Irwin.
One more loop around the zone?Copy !req
578. Yeah. Go ahead.Copy !req
579. No, wait. Scratch that.Copy !req
580. I think I got something.Copy !req
581. - Seriously?
- Is it Hop?Copy !req
582. Yeah, I… I don't know.
I'm not getting a hit on the decoder,Copy !req
583. but I can hear something.Copy !req
584. Yeah, I definitely hear something.Copy !req
585. Is that him?Copy !req
586. Yo, dude!Copy !req
587. Yeah, uh, we're not sure.Copy !req
588. - No, it's not Hop.
- What? Then what the hell is it?Copy !req
589. I don't know.
It could be a million things.Copy !req
590. Military broadcast, TV channel,
any EMI within our frequency zone.Copy !req
591. I do know it's not Hop's telemetry tag,Copy !req
592. because if it was,
it would show up on the decoder.Copy !req
593. So… search continues.Copy !req
594. Hey, Mom, um, disregard.
It's a false alarm.Copy !req
595. Jonathan, is your receiver
in any way connectedCopy !req
596. to the flux capacitor?Copy !req
597. Uh, sorry, Mom.
Can, uh… Can you repeat that?Copy !req
598. The flux capacitor.Copy !req
599. Robin said it was down,Copy !req
600. but she and Will are working on it.Copy !req
601. I wanted to make sure
it wasn't messing with your connection.Copy !req
602. Hello?Copy !req
603. Hello?Copy !req
604. You know, we can still turn back
if you want.Copy !req
605. I'm more scared of my mom at this point,
to be honest.Copy !req
606. Fair.Copy !req
607. Is this where it happened?Copy !req
608. Where you had your vision?Copy !req
609. Yeah. Right here.Copy !req
610. Are you… feeling anything?Copy !req
611. No.Copy !req
612. What…Copy !req
613. So, what are we doing now, exactly?Copy !req
614. If your theory's right,
and my receiver is proximity-based,Copy !req
615. I need to get close to the Demo
to tap into the hive mind.Copy !req
616. And maybe, earlier,
when the Demo was passing by,Copy !req
617. it was headed for its monster lair.Copy !req
618. Right. Monster lair.Copy !req
619. We're already here.
Might as well push our luck.Copy !req
620. I've been meaning to ask you,
were you at the hospital yesterday?Copy !req
621. The hospital?Copy !req
622. No. No, no, no.Copy !req
623. Weird. I could have sworn
I saw you there, but…Copy !req
624. Vickie, she's a candy striper…Copy !req
625. - Oh yeah.
- She's my friend.Copy !req
626. We're friends. Good friends. But, uh…Copy !req
627. The thing is, some people
might not understand our friendship.Copy !req
628. Basically, what I'm trying to say is
if you were there and did see something,Copy !req
629. it might just be better if,
uh, nobody knew,Copy !req
630. if it stayed between us.Copy !req
631. I didn't see anything.Copy !req
632. Sorry. It's just
I tend to be off-topic when I'm nervous,Copy !req
633. and you said that thing
about monster lair, and I thought,Copy !req
634. "What if your mom was right,
and you get kidnapped by Vecna, and…"Copy !req
635. Holy shit.Copy !req
636. What… Where are you going?Copy !req
637. It's a mandala. Did you do this,
Mrs. Harris's class, fifth grade?Copy !req
638. So cool. Though, come to think of it,
it's not even really a mandala.Copy !req
639. I mean, it's just a spiral.
Mandalas are usually concentric circlesCopy !req
640. but it's the thought that counts.Copy !req
641. Speaking of the thought that counts,Copy !req
642. is it a mandala,
or a mandah-la, or a man-dala?Copy !req
643. - I heard laughter.
- What?Copy !req
644. In my vision.Copy !req
645. Kids laughing, playing.Copy !req
646. What does that have to do
with a monster lair? Will!Copy !req
647. That's not a Demogorgon.Copy !req
648. Stay close to me.Copy !req
649. Hop?Copy !req
650. Jesus Christ.Copy !req
651. What is it?Copy !req
652. Holly was here.Copy !req
653. Right here.Copy !req
654. Maybe that's why
I can't find her in my mind.Copy !req
655. It took her…Copy !req
656. through the wall.Copy !req
657. Incoming, incoming.Copy !req
658. - Limp or something.
- What?Copy !req
659. Limp!Copy !req
660. …to New England?Copy !req
661. Oh, it is amazing.Copy !req
662. Don't look back.Copy !req
663. - What kind of limp is that?
- It's a limp, a regular limp.Copy !req
664. Whoa.Copy !req
665. Hi, Mom.Copy !req
666. Mom, can you hear us, Mom?Copy !req
667. Mom?Copy !req
668. Can you hear me?Copy !req
669. Mom.Copy !req
670. Hi.Copy !req
671. Hi there.Copy !req
672. Hi, Mom.Copy !req
673. Hey, Mom.Copy !req
674. Don't try to talk.Copy !req
675. It's your throat. It's gonna be okay.
It needs time to heal.Copy !req
676. Yeah.Copy !req
677. But could you… could you maybe write?Copy !req
678. Yeah? Okay.Copy !req
679. Okay.Copy !req
680. "Holly?"Copy !req
681. Yeah, that's, um…Copy !req
682. That is why we're here, Mom.Copy !req
683. Holly's…Copy !req
684. She's missing.Copy !req
685. Hey, we're gonna get her back.Copy !req
686. We just need your help.Copy !req
687. We think there's someone
that knows where Holly is,Copy !req
688. who knows why she was taken
and where she is.Copy !req
689. We just don't know where he is.Copy !req
690. And so, we're hoping that you might.Copy !req
691. "Who?"Copy !req
692. Um…Copy !req
693. We don't know his name, but Holly, she…Copy !req
694. she calls him Mr. Whatsit.Copy !req
695. Come on.Copy !req
696. I don't understand.
What exactly are we doing here?Copy !req
697. We're looking for this.Copy !req
698. "Teacher saw talking to W."Copy !req
699. "W" as in "Whatsit"?Copy !req
700. "Nobody…"Copy !req
701. "…there."Copy !req
702. In my vision earlier,
the sky was spinning.Copy !req
703. So, I think I was here,Copy !req
704. right here on this merry-go-round
during Ms. Harris's recess.Copy !req
705. Blast off!Copy !req
706. Derek, stop!Copy !req
707. Stop, Derek! Get off! Go away!Copy !req
708. I don't understand. I thought you were
seeing through the Demogorgon.Copy !req
709. I know. So did I.Copy !req
710. But you said yourself
Vecna controls the hive mind,Copy !req
711. which means he's a part of it too.
So, when he searches for his victims…Copy !req
712. - He invades their minds.
- He sees what they see.Copy !req
713. Did Holly ever describe
Mr. Whatsit to you?Copy !req
714. Like, maybe what he's wearing
or anything like that?Copy !req
715. Holly, time for breakfast.Copy !req
716. "Pocket watch."Copy !req
717. "Tall. Vest."Copy !req
718. Okay, he wears a vest.Copy !req
719. Uh, he's gentle and kind.Copy !req
720. So, what if I was seeing
through the eyes of Vecna's next victim,Copy !req
721. this victim he's stalking,
which means I was seeing through—Copy !req
722. Holly's eyes.Copy !req
723. But if that's true, it would mean…Copy !req
724. I was him.Copy !req
725. I was Vecna.Copy !req
726. Did Holly ever say if he has a first name?Copy !req
727. Are the others here yet?Copy !req
728. No, not yet.Copy !req
729. You will save them, too, won't you?
Save them from the monsters?Copy !req
730. Yes, Holly. Don't you worry.
I'm going to save your friends.Copy !req
731. Every last one of them.Copy !req
732. And my family?Copy !req
733. Are they coming too?Copy !req
734. Your friends first.Copy !req
735. Then after, I'll save your family too,
of course.Copy !req
736. I have room for everyone here.Copy !req
737. Mr. SandmanCopy !req
738. Bring me a dreamCopy !req
739. Make him the cutest
That I've ever seenCopy !req
740. Give him two lips
Like roses and cloverCopy !req
741. Then tell him that
His lonesome nights are overCopy !req
742. SandmanCopy !req
743. I'm so aloneCopy !req
744. Don't have nobody to call my ownCopy !req
745. Please turn on your magic beamCopy !req
746. Mr. Sandman, bring me a dreamCopy !req
747. Mr. Sandman, bring me a dreamCopy !req
748. Make him the cutest
That I've ever seenCopy !req
749. Give him the word that I'm not a roverCopy !req
750. Then tell him that
His lonesome nights are overCopy !req
751. Sandman, I'm so aloneCopy !req
752. Don't have nobody to call my ownCopy !req
753. Please turn on your magic beamCopy !req
754. Ah, Mr. Sandman, bring me a dreamCopy !req
755. Mr. SandmanCopy !req
756. Yes?Copy !req
757. Bring us a dreamCopy !req
758. Give him a pair of eyes
With a come-hither gleamCopy !req
759. Give him a lonely heart like PagliacciCopy !req
760. And lots of wavy hair like LiberaceCopy !req
761. - Mr. Sandman, someone to hold
- Someone to holdCopy !req
762. Would be so peachy
Before we're too oldCopy !req
763. So please turn on your magic beamCopy !req
764. Mr. Sandman, bring me a dreamCopy !req
765. Mr. Sandman, bring usCopy !req
766. Please, please, pleaseCopy !req
767. Mr. SandmanCopy !req
768. Bring us a dreamCopy !req
