The episode opens in Africa with the scene of a lion chasing a leopard. As the two fight, a huge gorilla enters. Broken shackles dangle from the gorilla's wrists. Speed is flying to Africa. Professor Robert CarnivorÃ© is sitting next to Speed on the plane. He relates the story of a huge monster that lives near the mountain they're flying over. Speed will be participating in the Trans-Africa Grand Prix, a race which crosses the continent of Africa. He checked out the course and is on his way to Nairobi where the race will start. The pilot and co-pilot point weapons at the professor and Speed. They are exiles from the nation of Bangdabongo. CarnivorÃ© is also an ex-pat from Bangdabongo. The men need the professor's help to liberate their country which was taken over 20 years before. The men and the professor get parachutes to jump out safely. Speed is tied up. 63. from one of the ranger stations deep within the central jungle

64. that a light plane was seen going down into the jungle.

65. It is believed that the missing plane could be one

66. due to land here within a couple of hours.

67. The plane was carrying a pilot and co-pilot and two passengers:

68. the world-famous biologist, Dr. Robert Carnivory,

69. and one of the racers who was going to compete

70. in the upcoming Trans-Africa Grand Prix,

71. a young man by the name of Speed Racer.

72. Spritle, come on.

73. The report didn't say whether or not anyone was hurt,

74. and there's only one way to find out.

75. Let's go there!

76. Oh, great god of Boomachuck, help us.

77. Defend us against the monster in the mountain,

78. the monster that threatens to destroy all of us

79. who are your worshipful servants.

80. Help our gallant men who are going to fight the monster.

81. Give them the strength and the bravery

82. they will need to be victorious!

83. The monster is more powerful than all of our men together.

84. And we will need your supernatural powers.

85. Oh, great Boomachuck, bring us victory.

86. Help us destroy the monster.

87. I'm sorry that you were frightened

88. by my tribesmen. They mean you no harm.

89. We are all men of peace.

90. For the past three years,

91. we've been threatened by a big monster.

92. It comes from the mountain and attacks everything it sees.

93. It rips up the jungle, tears down most of our trees,

94. so that soon, unless the monster is destroyed,

95. it will turn our country into a desert.

96. It is stronger than an army of men,

97. and nothing on Earth can stop it.

98. We have lost many of our bravest men

99. to that monster of the mountain.

100. Even the wildest animals of the jungle

101. are no match against the monster,

102. and have left for other parts of the jungle to be safe from it.

103. Stories of the monster have spread everywhere in the jungle.

104. And everyone's afraid to visit us; it's very lonesome here.

105. So we have decided to do something about it.

106. Tomorrow, we will go after the monster.

107. I want you to do a favor for me and my tribe.

108. Fight the terrible monster with us.

170. It has been a great many years since last I saw you.

173. But I haven't told you yet that I would cooperate.

174. Our aim is to return to our country and liberate it.

175. That's what the pilot of the plane told me.

176. Twenty years ago, our country was attacked.

178. It was caught between two other countries that were fighting.

179. And as each of them battled,

180. our country was overrun time and again.

181. We became a no man's land, except for those awful days

182. when the battles were at their worst.

183. And no man was safe.

184. Now, I want to liberate and rebuild our country.

185. We have made gorillas and spiders bigger.

186. Now our plan is to apply the process to human beings,

187. and to build an army of giants.

191. We began it and we deserved to be punished.
