Speed Racer 1x11

It is the second day of the Big Alpine Race and no one has been able to cross the chasm except for Racer X. In a nearby lodge, Trixie, Sparky, Spritle, and Chim Chim await the passage of the storm. Two drivers deliver the news of what happened at the pass. Trixie and the gang leave in her helicopter to rescue Speed. The next morning, Speed regains consciousness, discovering that he is unable to see. Somehow, he finds the Mach 5 and starts its engine. Snake Oiler cruises by "on his way to victory." Using his acute sense of hearing, Speed follows the sound of Racer X's car, which leads him back onto the racecourse. However, the Mach 5's wheels get stuck and Racer X leaves him behind. What goes around, comes around: Racer X crashes, his legs apparently broken. Speed finds him and, together as a team in the Mach 5, they plan to overtake Snake and win the race.

3. And this most treacherous part of the entire course

4. is so full of landslides caused by the heavy rain,

5. that some drivers were too afraid to go on.

6. But six of us, Racer X, myself,

7. and members of the Car Acrobatic Team

8. decided to continue,

9. and we drew lots to see which of us would go first.

10. It would be increasingly hazardous

11. for each man who followed.

15. No one had been able to cross the chasm,

16. and now it was Racer X's turn to try.

17. It's my turn now, and I've got to make it.

18. Meanwhile, in a nearby lodge,

19. Sparky, Trixie, and Spritle watch the storm

20. and wait anxiously for news of the race.

21. According to this bulletin,

22. not much information is available because of the storm,

23. but apparently, more than a dozen cars,

24. including members of the Car Acrobatic Team and the Mach 5,

25. have had their way blocked near Yarning Chasm pass.

26. The racing committee is considering changing the course

27. to a less dangerous area before the cars and drivers

28. are completely wiped out.

29. I hope Speed'll be all right.

30. I hope he won't try to go ahead.

31. I'm not worried.

32. He took my good luck charm along in the car with him,

33. and it'll bring him good luck, right, Chim Chim?

34. Won't it, Sparky?

35. Say he'll be all right!

36. Aren't you men supposed to be in the race?

37. We barely managed to make it back from Yarning Chasm Pass.

38. The road's impassible.

39. Do you know what happened to some of the other drivers

40. in the race?

41. Most of them will never come back.

42. They tried to make it from one cliff to the other and failed.

43. You said they didn't make it? Their cars were wrecked?

44. There was nothing left of them

45. including the cars of the Car Acrobatic Team.

46. They were stupid to try to go ahead when everybody could see

47. that they wouldn't be able to make it.

48. Poor Speed.

49. All right, Sparky, come on.

51. Speed might need help!

52. I wanna try to help him!

53. Hey, you'd better wait till this storm blows over!

54. Don't worry; we'll be all right.

55. But as soon as the weather's calmed down,

222. only two cars are still in the race.

223. One of them is car number 12,

224. driven by Snake Oiler of the Car Acrobatic Team.

225. And the other is the Mach 5 driven by Speed Racer.

226. Ladies and gentleman, if you look to your left,

227. you can see the remaining members

228. of the Car Acrobatic Team waiting for the end of the race.

229. Captain Terror!

230. Yes?

231. I just got a report that Snake is way in the lead.

232. Snake's my brother and he's going to bring

233. a glorious victory to the Car Acrobatic Team.

234. We will be famous

235. as the greatest racing team in the world!

236. No one can beat us!

237. Hurry, Snake! Bring us the crown of victory!

238. It's hard to catch up to him. He's liable to win.

239. If only I could see, I'd go even faster.

240. But Speed, you mustn't give up.

241. Why not? I don't think I have a chance of beating him.

245. If he keeps on going at his present speed,

252. Then he'll be wiped out if his car blows up.

253. Yes, it might be the end of him.

254. But we're not gonna help him, not if you wanna win the race.

255. It wouldn't be right. I've got to try to warn him.

260. The Mach 5 again...

261. And it's gaining on me. I can't pull away from it.

262. Snake, be careful!

263. There's something wrong with your engine.

264. You're leaking oil very badly!

265. I'm not fallin' for that trick. I'm not gonna stop.

266. Snake, I'm not lying!

267. He won't believe you, and you've done your best to warn him.

269. And now approaching the finish line

271. It looks as if he'll be the winner.

272. Oh! But here comes the Mach 5 with Speed Racer at the wheel!
