Directed by Kelly Souders

John Glover as Lionel Luthor • Linda Ko as Luthor lawyer • Joe Maffei as Newspaper Stand Worker • Lini Evans as Reporter • Ilan Muallem as Thief

Tess acquires a Kryptonian box that once belonged to Lionel Luthor. When Clark accidentally activates the box, he’s transported to a parallel universe where Lionel found Clark in the cornfields instead of the Kents. In this universe, Clark Luthor is a murderer and Lois is engaged to Oliver and both of them hate Clark. Clark must be careful not to tip off Lionel that he’s not his son while trying to figure out how to get back to Earth where the monster Clark Luthor was transported in his place.

32. - Only trying protecting yourself. - No.

33. Clark.

34. You're no better than he is.

35. What else are you hiding, Tess?

36. It's a Kryptonian relic. I only just received it.

37. I swear to God, I was gonna tell you. It just showed up.

38. Why do you have it?

39. Clark, there's something I need to tell you.

40. Clark.

41. Ah, now this is the moment for an apposite quote...

42. from one of my favorites, Marcus Aurelius.

43. When you arise in the morning, think what a privilege it is to be alive.

49. I assume you will properly expense the services of the ladies...

50. Mandie and Bambie.

51. We don't wanna risk another audit.

52. This is impossible.

53. This Ultraman persona you've come up with, genius.

54. It's a great way to strong-arm our opponents.

55. But your display of ego is attracting too much attention.

56. You're getting reckless. Now, button up.

57. - Is this a dream? - Absolutely.

58. A dream that you are putting at risk.

59. Think, Clark.

60. Think what it took to build this empire.

61. Hard work, dedication to family.

65. You know what they say, burning the candle at both ends.

66. Trite but true.

67. I don't wanna watch you making stupid mistakes, Clark.

68. I know what you're capable of. You can make a father proud!

69. I'm not your son.

70. You watch out for those emotional reactions.

71. The heart. It'll blind you, son.

72. You wanna be your own man. That's natural.

73. But remember, Clark, I am your father...

74. and I alone raised you...

75. in my own image to become the man...

76. that you are today.

77. I must have lost perspective.

78. But that's why I'm here. To set you back on the right path.

79. You could conquer the universe.

80. The man of tomorrow: Clark Luthor!

81. I sometimes shudder to think...

82. what would have happened to my little traveler...

83. if he had been discovered in that field...

84. by the first ignorant farmer that came along.

85. Where on earth would you be now?

86. The farm.

87. Mom?

88. Dad?

89. He isn't here.

90. How long have you been here?

91. Long enough to go for a ride.

92. You love to make me wait, don't you?

93. - What are you doing? - Stop worrying.

94. Father will never find us here.

95. - Father? - Mm-hm.

96. - Our father? - Last time I checked...

97. you're still adopted and I'm still as red-headed bastard as it gets.

98. - You're a Luthor. - God, you love to rile me up, don't you?

99. Tess, I can't do this.

100. - Why not? - I'm not who you think I am.

101. Your scar.

102. Where's your scar?

103. That bastard.

104. He used the mirror box.

105. He tells me all about it and then he says he can't find it.

106. I can't believe I ever thought it would work with us.

107. - I can't believe I ever trusted him. - I found it.

108. I used it.

109. But who are you talking about?

110. You.

111. Well, the more fun version of you, anyway.

112. Is this time travel?

113. Something went wrong in my past, and if I fix it, I get to go back?

114. Are you really this naive in your world?

115. My world.

116. Tess, I need some help. You obviously know something.

117. You need to tell me.

118. Tess, please.

119. According to my Clark, it's like a parallel reality.

120. It's still the same history, just rewritten with a sort of darker edge.

121. - So while I'm stranded here, he's— - Stuck in your life there.

122. And your kinder, gentler world is about to get an explosive awakening.

123. Lois?

124. All the people in all the streets in the world...

125. you're the person I have to hit?

126. - I'm so happy to see you. - Don't think for a minute...

127. that you're gonna use this as another excuse to try to get me fired.

128. - Lois, why would I wanna fire you? - Because you're a masochist.

129. Now I know why you're late. Are you okay?

130. Mm-hm.

131. Mr. Queen, any comment on the latest round of land grabs in Smallville?

132. Don't worry, Ollie, I can handle this.

133. You're engaged?

134. What your employees do with their personal life is none of your concern.

135. Do you understand that people want to know what's going on?

136. You're lucky to have her.

137. How long have we known each other, Luthor? It was boarding school, right?

138. How many times have I had to stand here and watch you piss away...

139. every single opportunity you've ever had to make this world a better place?

140. Thank you.

141. Those don't belong to you.

142. Hey.

143. You stay away from me.

144. Why are you so afraid?

145. Because no one sees Ultraman and lives to tell about it.

146. Lionel turned me into a murderer.

147. Where are you, Clark?

148. I thought I said I didn't wanna be disturbed.

149. It's adorable, seeing you at my desk like you own the place.

150. How can you be so flip when I've been looking for you all night long?

151. I like making you wait.

152. It still bothers you, doesn't it?

153. There's no take-backs when it comes to Gold K.

154. Lex sure knew how to leave an impression, didn't he?

155. His ego certainly left something to be desired.

156. I am shocked.

157. As disinterested as you were in finding the mirror box...

158. that you would bring us here.

159. Hardly any trace of Lionel at all.

160. It's refreshing, actually...

161. being out from under our father's shadow.

162. Lionel Luthor's been dead for years.

163. Lex killed him.

164. I guess Lex did something right in this place.

165. I gotta tell you, sis, this alternate Earth, it's a blast.

166. Doesn't feel right, though...

167. not having blood on my hands before lunch.

168. Well, that's the great thing about us being on our own now...

169. is that you can have lunch whenever you want.

170. And what if I was hungry now?

171. I'm watched constantly here.

172. Where's the box, Tess?

173. Why?

174. We destroy the box, we destroy any chance of being sent back there...

175. and nothing can stop us.

176. Well, why don't you wait at the mansion? I'll—

177. And I'll grab the box...

178. and we can celebrate.

179. This world won't know what hit it.

180. - Come on. - Sure.

181. Oh, no, you are not gonna ruin this gal's afternoon. Off.

182. Just a regular black coffee, please.

183. Don't quit your day job.

184. And leave all this?

185. Insufficient funds.

186. Like hell, I just got paid.

187. - Try again. - Yeah.

188. Hello?

189. - Who is this? - Fine, then I will—

190. Who do you wanna talk to?

191. - Seriously? - Seriously.

192. Are you Lois Lane?

193. - Who wants to know? - Whoever's on the other side of my cell.

194. Uh, oh.

195. - Hello? - if I'm calling you, Lane, it's for a reason.

196. Tess?

197. - How are you doing this? Look to your left.

198. Your other left.

199. Watchtower is everywhere. Now, get up here, we have a problem.

200. Nice to meet you, Lois.

201. Tess Mercer, if your little stunt ruined my credit—

202. Wow.

203. All this for a primitive busy signal.

204. Subject unavailable.

205. I'm not sure what you're doing...

206. but I'm willing to run around and frown at technology if it'll lend a hand.

207. Considering that I can't successfully round up the troops...

208. I assumed Watchtower was the safest place in the city.

209. - For who? - For you.

210. - From who? - From Clark.

211. Wait, my Clark?

212. Not exactly.

213. It's only matter of time before he realizes I'm not his Tess.

214. He found us.

215. Get up, Tess.

216. Get up!

217. Clark.

218. Clark, if this is some kind of Red K episode, we can work this out.

219. Leave her alone.

220. I wouldn't worry about Lane, sis.

221. It's remarkable what you can hear when you stop to listen.

222. You can't stay here.

223. I can do whatever I want.

224. I'm not going back to Lionel's world.

225. Because that's exactly what it is, Lionel's.

226. This world will be mine.

227. Give me the box.

228. And if I don't?

229. I'll kill you.

230. Good morning, sir.

231. My prodigal daughter.

232. You've returned.

233. It's too much to drop in on dear old Dad from time to time?

234. When you've turned your back on both your father and your fortune, yes, it is.

235. If you saw my back, it's only because you kicked me out the door.

236. Research?

237. Ha.

238. Does this have anything to do...

239. with that ill-conceived coup you have been planning?

240. - I'd have no idea— - Don't lie, Tess.

241. You're no good at it. You never were.

242. Ah.

243. That little Greek tragedy you've been trying to drag your brother into.

244. Oh, yes, I know all about that.

245. I love him like you never will.

246. Of course. That's no mystery.

247. Clark is a god among men.

248. Though how he could love you, a consummate disappointment...

249. is beyond me.

250. You're nothing but trouble, Tess. You're corrupting him.

251. You take a good long look in the mirror...

252. at the person who's responsible for corrupting Clark.

253. I've worked too long and hard to let you...

254. a little half-bred tramp with a Magdalene complex, ruin everything.

255. You just made this a lot easier.

256. Get in here.

257. Why couldn't you ever love me the way that you love Clark?

258. Simply put, sweetheart, you're just not special enough.

259. I hope that your love is enough to save you when he stabs you in the back...

260. you son of a bitch.

261. Jor-El?

262. I know you and I aren't on the best of terms right now, but—

263. I'd call that an understatement.

264. Of course your progenitor would have every right to hold a grudge...

265. considering the extreme measures you and I took to silence him.

266. Lionel, what are you doing here?

267. Surveying our progress.

268. You remember Lear, son?

269. Shakespeare. King Lear.

270. Wanted to abdicate, retire.

271. Lear had three children.

272. He tells them he will divide his kingdom between them...

273. giving the largest portion to the one who loves him most.

274. Two of the children declare their lavish devotion.

275. The youngest, his favorite, is blunt and plain-spoken.

276. Stop me if you know where this is going.

277. - Lear disowned the child who loved him. - Big mistake.

278. So it's just you and your sister now.

279. There's certainly no getting Lex back.

280. You saw to that.

281. I killed Lex.

282. I'm sure you didn't come all the way up here to talk Shakespeare.

283. Heh. You're right.

284. I bumped into your sister.

285. She was looking for, uh...

286. this.

287. Very confusing, considering the effort that LuthorCorp put...

288. into scouring the globe to find and destroy anything from Krypton.

289. I asked her to help me find it so I could destroy it.

290. Just wanna make you proud, Dad.

291. Thank you, son.

292. About the box. Queen has it.

293. His family had possession of it when Veritas was dissolved.

294. Queen's no fool, Clark. I mean, he's not gonna just hand it over to you.

295. - Then I'll take it back. - Good idea.

296. My son.

297. They're waiting for us.

298. They're waiting for you.

299. You look, um...

300. You look beautiful.

301. It's not like the whole world hates you, Oliver.

302. No, no, just the greater Metropolitan area.

303. It'd be nice to have a couple people out there backing me up, you know?

304. I'd like to think that I'm all the cavalry you'll ever need.

305. Come on.

306. Why me, Lois?

307. Why me?

308. Because...

309. you are a very, very good man.

310. There's gotta be somebody out there better than me, right?

311. Mm-mm.

312. If he is, I've never found him.

313. I really love you, you know.

314. Lois? Lois, are you safe?

315. She will be, on one condition.

316. There's an antique, a mirror box, in your possession.

317. Your family stole it from the Luthors and I want it back.

318. - I swear to God, if you— Exchange. Text a location.

319. Hey, listen. I'm sorry. This is something I had to do.

320. Stay away from me, Clark. Or Ultraman, or whoever you are.

321. I know what happens when someone sees your face.

322. - Help! - Lois, Lois.

323. Hey.

324. Where I'm from, Lois Lane, you and I, we're allies.

325. And you always have my back.

326. How else would I know you're brave and loyal and a force of nature?

327. Anybody could have told you that about me.

328. Look, you misspell words, simple words...

329. at an alarmingly frequent basis.

330. And you never admit when I'm right, even when I call you on it.

331. Why would l?

332. And you can always tell when I'm lying.

333. You can see right through me, straight to my soul.

334. To my heart.

335. Lois, there's gotta be a part of you that knows that I'm telling the truth.

336. Who are you?

337. My name is Clark Kent, and I promise, Lois, I will never let this happen to us.

338. I can't live in a world where you don't love me.

339. Oliver.

340. So Clark Luthor is the mysterious Ultraman of Metropolis.

341. That name sucks, by the way. Did it look good on paper?

342. Give me the mirror box. I'll bring Lois back. I'll be out of your way.

343. I'll save you the trouble. My eyes in the sky confirmed Lois is safe.

344. But I don't know a thing about your box.

345. Then why bring me here?

346. Because I have been waiting years to get Ultraman face-to-face like this.

347. And now I get to kill two birds with one stone.

348. Is something wrong?

349. I've been hunting Ultraman since he murdered the Swanns.

350. - That's how I found out what hurts you. - I need to get back to my Earth.

351. Everyone's in danger.

352. Lionel's son, your enemy, he's there...

353. and Lois isn't safe. None of you are.

354. He's a maniac and he's delusional.

355. Well, makes me feel better about being the enemy of Smallville.

356. You know, just your typical, multi-pronged social kamikaze...

357. I evict farmers from their land, and I mine that land for meteor rock.

358. This? This right here?

359. Is just the tip of the iceberg.

360. I've got a mousetrap set up for your rat ass in every major city.

361. I'm no threat to you.

362. Really?

363. Then why Lois?

364. She's the only one who knows my secret, she believes in me.

365. And you took her away from me.

366. - You have to believe me. - Let me tell you what I believe in.

367. I believe— I believe in justice.

368. This whole thing is a...

369. It's a shame, really.

370. With everything that you can do...

371. and your powers.

372. - We could have made one hell of a team. - You're not a murderer.

373. No.

374. But you are.

375. You didn't have to hurt him to save me.

376. Ha, ha. What?

377. Save you?

378. So, what was the plan, Clark?

379. Murder your father, then with your whore sister...

380. escape to another world?

381. You knew I was walking into a trap.

382. I've kept constant watch on Oliver Queen's activities.

383. You should have known I'd do that.

384. And Oliver never had the mirror box, did he?

385. You mean this?

386. Your betrayal has been staring me in the face...

387. but I couldn't admit...

388. that I'd been so wrong about you.

389. We are long, long overdue for a father-son talk.

390. I'm not your son.

391. Well, you never were, were you?

392. I made your destiny, your future...

393. our future, my whole preoccupation.

394. For God's sake, Clark...

395. I let you kill Lex, your own brother, my son.

396. That wasn't me.

397. I've been afraid of you, Clark.

398. Of your power.

399. You know, you may want to use that box and escape from here...

400. but the truth is that I'm the one that's been a prisoner all this time.

401. Let me use the mirror box, I'll go away.

402. You'll never have to worry about me.

403. Not worry about you?

404. That's all I've ever done, worry about you.

405. I have sacrificed everything for your sake.

406. I failed you, Clark.

407. Because no true son of mine...

408. no true Luthor would have let me live this long.

409. - Not my choice. - You're right. I made you this way.

410. And because I have failed you, Clark, it's got to be survival of the fittest.

411. Whether you're on this Earth or any other...

412. I am the most fit.

413. I will be the survivor.

414. Hey. Thanks for the advice, Dad.

415. - Oliver. Yeah, I know.

416. I know you're the good one. Go the hell home already, will you?

417. Lionel's son will appear in my place.

418. You need to activate the meteor rock as soon as I leave.

419. Why you telling me this?

420. You said that you wished we could save the world together.

421. We do.

422. No.

423. No! No!

424. Oliver, do it. Now!

425. Do it!

426. - Nighty-night. - I'm me.

427. Lois, please.

428. Tell them I'm me.

429. Stop.

430. Stop. Stop.

431. It's him.

432. It's you.

433. I swear, the number of times I've signed one of those.

434. Lucky for us the Planet's got great coverage.

435. Lucky for me. Bet your deductible's through the roof.

436. Something like that.

437. What are these for?

438. Nothing says "sorry my doppelganger tried to kill you" like flowers.

439. - I think there's a card for that now. - The store was out.

440. I destroyed the mirror box.

441. You won't ever have to worry about seeing him again.

442. He wasn't you, Clark. I mean, not "you" you.

443. The circumstances were different on that side...

444. but it was still me in that mirror.

445. And the way you looked at me, Lois, with so much hate...

446. It's like you had formed your opinion about Clark Luthor. For good reason.

447. He was a monster.

448. I was a monster.

449. Makes you wonder how Earth-2 Lois Lane...

450. managed to put up with such a colossal tool.

451. Consider yourself universally consistent.

452. You didn't cut him any slack.

453. But I do think she was about to give him another chance.

454. You don't have to worry about second chances with me.

455. You're doing really well with the first one.

456. Luthor blood is poison.

457. That's what I said before things got weird.

458. Who knew you had such a gift for understatement?

459. The heir that Lionel left the box to, it's you.

460. Given all that the Luthors have done...

461. is it any surprise I didn't feel like sharing with the rest of the class?

462. I'm guessing how I reacted...

463. is why you didn't tell me everything.

464. Clark, you wanna know the truly perverse part?

465. I'm upset that he threw me away.

466. As grotesque and sordid a family tree as I've just inherited...

467. I wasn't good enough.

468. You're lucky.

469. The Kents found you.

470. But you weren't so unlucky.

471. As screwed up as you think your life has been...

472. Lionel didn't raise you on this side.

473. And what happened with...

474. the other Clark is just proof...

475. that Lionel's blood doesn't corrupt...

486. You're not alone anymore.

487. - Don't I know you from somewhere? - I don't think so.

488. I'm from out of town.

489. Unexpected visit.

490. But I guess I'm back in the nick of time.

491. Wouldn't wanna miss how it all turns out.
