598. And so we just went around and would do these rooms

599. and just build up an audience.

600. And we just were like we deserve to be here and take up space.

601. And I think that was when I felt like, okay, you can be on stage.

602. That's my thing is making people laugh.

603. So this is like being all feminine and fierce

604. and having that confidence to march into a room,

605. like, in a male-dominated industry

606. is really hard sometimes.

607. And this is making me be like, just own it.

608. Alyssa has been a teacher for many, many years.

609. How do you teach confidence?

610. It's owning who you are unapologetically,

611. and really taking that

612. and making something of it, shaping it.

613. Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz always had the power,

617. So I'm here on behalf of RED,

618. and their main passion is all about raising money

619. to bring down the cost of HIV medicine,

620. so that people can actually afford it.

656. because the heels and the dresses,

657. it's very out of my comfort zone.

658. My comfort zone is on my couch in sweats and sneakers.

667. Growing up, like, there wasn't somebody like me that I knew,

670. At what point did you feel like you saw people like you?

671. Not until I released my music.

672. I released Girls Like Girls in 2015.

673. And that was like the first time

674. where there were all these people that felt the way I felt.

675. And so music was an outlet for me to be like this is who I am.

676. Yeah. Tell me about your charity.

677. I chose Planned Parenthood.

678. I think it's really important,

679. to save my sisters' life,

680. not having health insurance, and being able to go.

681. It's a safe place.

682. I think it's a great charity,

683. especially in the current climate
