324. a lot of parts of ourselves that we're not proud of,

325. so everyone is feeling very vulnerable

390. - I take comfort in misery.

391. Being sad or being angry feels comfortable for me.

392. - Where's that come from?

393. - I don't actually know.

394. Like I have found that, you know,

395. you get happy or whatever,

396. and as soon as something bad happens

397. or something negative happens,

398. it kind of feels like home sometimes.

399. - Yeah, I'm sure most people feel very comfortable with it.

400. I think the world feels more comfortable with fear.

401. In this competition,

402. when have you been the most raw?

403. - Probably the ball. I was in the bottom

404. and I could have potentially went home.

405. And I blamed everyone around me

406. because I felt like I had helped so many people

407. and hadn't gotten help,

408. and an authentic part of myself sometimes is you did bad.

409. It's that person's fault and it's that person's fault.

410. And, you know, later in the competition,

411. I started seeing some of those qualities

412. in someone else, and that was even more eye opening

413. because I was like, that right there's a part of me.

414. - That's why I think this challenge is so important,

415. because we have to look at those things.

416. You know, I always see my saboteur

417. in my peripheral vision always,

418. and I always like to say, you can look, Ru.

438. Is it as vicious as mine is?

439. - My saboteur tells me all the time

440. that I'm not good enough,

441. and that, you know, my size is an issue

442. and that it holds me back from things in life.

443. It tells me that I'm not a good person.

445. It tells me that I'm ugly, that I'll never be with someone.

446. - When does it rear its ugly head?

447. - Any time I question myself.

448. Honestly, in the beginning of this competition,

449. I had a big issue with like my saboteur telling me

450. that you all hated the idea that you brought me back

451. and that I was taking a dream from someone else and—

452. - That is all made up in your head.

453. - Mm-hmm. - We use these things

454. to sort of scare us into moving forward.

455. Like the concept of you better get out there and work harder

456. because you want to prove to Ms. Paul

457. that you deserve to be here.

458. That's just a ploy.

459. You can propel yourself with positive energy.

460. You can propel yourself with negative energy.

461. That's an example of trying to propel yourself out of fear.

462. - Mm-hmm. - I do this thing.

463. When I go onstage, I always imagine

464. that I'm going to go perform in my mother's living room.

465. Because no matter what I would do,

466. she would love it.

467. So every time I go onstage—

468. I don't care if it's thousands of people—

469. I'll go, okay, mama's living room.

470. And rather than working through

471. the "oh, my God, oh, they're not gonna like me,"

472. rather than going that route, I go the love route,

473. and it allows me to just be myself.

474. - I'm actually excited to do this

475. and admit to the world some of the things

476. that I'm the most vulnerable or afraid of.

478. is that being vulnerable is actually strength.
