any idea what this means?Copy !req
380. I mean, there isn't
one person in this town
that believes in me.Copy !req
381. I mean, hell, my own dad
doesn't even believe in me.Copy !req
382. And if they don't want me
to be the king of this court,Copy !req
383. well, guess what?
I don't need it.Copy !req
384. 'Cause you know what, Caleb?Copy !req
385. You are my son,Copy !req
386. and I am your dad,
and I do believe in you.Copy !req
387. So let me ask you
something, Caleb.Copy !req
388. How would you like to play
church league basketball?Copy !req
389. I can't.
Mom would never let me play.Copy !req
390. (whispers):
Okay. Okay.Copy !req
391. Is it 'cause of
the lactose thing?Copy !req
392. Is it 'cause your bones
will break or somethin'
like that?Copy !req
393. - I got bad grades.
- (Robbie snickers)Copy !req
394. I thought you were gonna
talk about something real.Copy !req
395. Bad grades.Copy !req
396. I got bad grades
my whole life.
Look at me now.Copy !req
397. You're a manager
of a Kreamy King.Copy !req
398. Yeah, well, not anymore,
'cause I quit.Copy !req
399. Which in retrospect
was maybe a little bit...Copy !req
400. hasty of a decision to make,
but I'll tell you what.Copy !req
401. I'm free now.Copy !req
402. Free to fly. Okay.Copy !req
403. All right,
let's get outta here.Copy !req
404. You know, I'm actually
more of a paint player.
Post up.Copy !req
405. The Bible says that every son
shall smite his own father,Copy !req
406. so really, we're just doin'
what God told us to do.Copy !req
407. Splash that gas
all over that suit, please.Copy !req
408. I was never good enough
for your mom.Copy !req
409. What?Copy !req
410. Nothing.
Think you got
enough on there.Copy !req
411. Why don't you step back now,Copy !req
412. 'cause it's about
to get very hot.Copy !req
413. Robbie.Copy !req
414. What in the hell
are you doing out here?Copy !req
415. Looks like a damn Klan rally.Copy !req
416. Well, that's not at all
what we're do—Copy !req
417. I mean, that kid's biracial,Copy !req
418. so he wouldn't
participate in that.Copy !req
419. And neither would I,
'cause I'm not in the Klan.Copy !req
420. Hate the Klan, actually.Copy !req
421. Kid, run around back.
Grab the hose.Copy !req
422. Is that my suit?Copy !req
423. You care more about that suit
than you've ever cared about me.Copy !req
424. Oh, come on.
You know that's not true.Copy !req
425. Yeah, well, then
why would you do it, Dad?Copy !req
426. Why would you send me
to an interviewCopy !req
427. instead of telling me that
you already picked somebody?Copy !req
428. 'Cause you don't take "no"
for an answer.Copy !req
429. I never thought
you'd hit that strike.Copy !req
430. That's what I'm talking
about right now.Copy !req
431. No matter what I do,
you don't believe in me.Copy !req
432. Robbie, there's nothing
I could do.Copy !req
433. The woman we hired has coached
middle school basketballCopy !req
434. - for five years.
- Go back.
Did you say a woman?Copy !req
435. - You hired a woman?
- Yes, Robbie.Copy !req
436. 'Cause she's a good coach.
She's done the work.Copy !req
437. And you know something else?Copy !req
438. She doesn't run around
in her underwear all dayCopy !req
439. - setting fires
with some weird kid.
- Oh, yeah?Copy !req
440. You want to know somethin', Dad?
That weird kid...Copy !req
441. That weird kid...
is your grandson.Copy !req
442. Bullshit.Copy !req
443. All right, here she comes.Copy !req
444. Now remember,
don't mention basketball.Copy !req
445. Or ice cream. Or barf.
Or arson.Copy !req
446. - (door opens)
- Caleb!Copy !req
447. Grades are important, dude.Copy !req
448. Ava, hey.Copy !req
449. I was just laying
into Caleb, here,Copy !req
450. for being such
a lazy student.Copy !req
451. Caleb, you doing all right?Copy !req
452. I'm fine.
When can I see Dad again?Copy !req
453. Ha ha ha ho!Copy !req
454. That's something
me and your mom
gotta chat about.Copy !req
455. Now that we're co-parenting.Copy !req
456. Caleb, go to the car.Copy !req
457. Aw.Copy !req
458. Bye, Dad.Copy !req
459. Why does he smell like gasoline?Copy !req
460. We really did have
a lot of fun today.Copy !req
461. - (weak chuckle)
- And, uh, I'd like
to do it again.Copy !req
462. I was thinking maybe
three times a week.Copy !req
463. Tuesdays, Thursdays,
and Saturdays.Copy !req
464. Is that when your
church basketball team
practices?Copy !req
465. My what?
I don't have a church—Copy !req
466. Robbie, don't try to trick me.Copy !req
467. I want Caleb to
get to know his dad,Copy !req
468. but what did you think
was gonna happen?Copy !req
469. He's gonna play on your team
for an entire season,Copy !req
470. and I somehow wouldn't notice
that he was sweaty and tiredCopy !req
471. every time I picked him up?Copy !req
472. Just please let him play.
Okay?Copy !req
473. I need him. And you know,Copy !req
474. maybe he needs me, too.Copy !req
475. Okay.Copy !req
476. - (sighs)
- Fine.Copy !req
477. But if you ever hurt him,Copy !req
478. I will kill you
with my bare hands.Copy !req
479. Okay. Well, just know that
I am gonna fight back.Copy !req
480. I'm not just gonna
let you kill me.Copy !req
481. Bye, Robbie.Copy !req
482. - (door opens)
- Hey, Beatrice.Copy !req
483. - What?
- Turns out I'm gonna need
my old job back.Copy !req
484. Too late.Copy !req
485. I've already called corporate.Copy !req
486. And they gave you the bump.Copy !req
487. Fine. I can only work
a few shifts a week, anyways.Copy !req
488. I got a team to coach.Copy !req
489. Bullshit.Copy !req
490. Read a book.Copy !req
