"Itsuki, you're a failure of an ARKS!" Itsuki experiences the joy of PSO2 while working hard at being the student council vice president. While the other members of the student council acknowledge his talents, only student council president Rina has misgivings about his overeagerness. Meanwhile, Suzuki Aika returns from abroad to join Itsuki's class. Aika develops an interest in Itsuki and follows him, causing all kinds of problems. To blow off steam from the real world, Itsuki loses himself in PSO2. However, his coach and veteran player SORO reprimands him for paying too little attention to his surroundings. Unable to understand why he was scolded, Itsuki distances himself from PSO2 for a while, but his friend and PSO2 player Kayano Kota explains to him the truth behind SORO's words.

171. I see.
172. You can read about the details
in a file called "Dorm Rules"
173. on the PC in your room.
174. I see. Got it.
175. There's still some time before dinner.
176. Tachibana-kun, this was fantastic.
177. Your report moved me.
178. P-President, we mustn't.
179. I'm the vice president.
180. We have to draw the line somewhere.
181. It was a dream, huh?
182. You're defenseless.
183. What's going on?
184. In your room, huh?
185. Really?
186. I can't believe he dragged
Ai Ai into his room.
187. "Ai Ai"?
188. He's a predator.
189. The worst.
190. Ai Ai, you'd better
stay away from him.
191. "Ai Ai"?
192. Since she just arrived and
doesn't know the rules yet,
193. she's not being punished.
194. At least you only have
to write an apology.
195. Yeah, I guess.
196. There.
197. You're going
back to your room already?
198. It's time for my
never-ending adventure.
199. You've really gotten into it.
200. I'll join you, once the meet is over.
201. Sure.
202. Why don't we throw a welcoming
party for you after a bath?
203. Don't worry about me. Excuse me.
204. Is it all right if we
stop by Ai Ai's room later?
205. Why not?
206. All right!
207. Excuse me.
208. See you later.
209. Who is Ai Ai?
210. Suzuki-san is kind of...
211. mysterious, wouldn't you say?
212. She sure is.
213. By the way, could I join
your welcoming party?
214. Absolutely not!
215. All right. Maybe I'll
try to level up today.
216. Hey.
217. You're late.
218. I had some real life
stuff to take care of.
219. I had a bunch of stuff to do.
220. Ai Ai.
221. Did she already go to bed?
222. The collective term for the largest enemy force in "PSO2." There are various types, but all of them have a black body and a red core. They show up on planets with life and civilization, and look to bring them to ruin.
223. Refers to those who play online games alone. Divided into those who don't enjoy the company of others, and those who lack communication skills. The latter are usually called "forever alone."
224. Man, that was a perfect clear.
225. Honestly, I think I'm doing
pretty well again today.
226. Itsuki!
227. You're a failure of an ARKS!
228. You were lectured by your friend?
229. Yeah, he was super pissed.
230. What did you do?
231. Well, I was trying to level up,
232. so I took down all the Darkers
I saw, one after another.
233. You didn't take any damage?
234. I did.
235. But I was making great progress.
236. I was surrounded by enemies.
237. What level are you?
238. Fifteen.
239. What was the guy in your party doing?
240. He was behind me the whole time.
241. Aha. No wonder he got mad at you.
242. What? Why?
243. Listen up.
244. In PSO2, unless you develop a character
with extremely high defense,
245. you have to block or
dodge enemy attacks.
246. SORO said the same thing.
247. SORO?
248. Wait. Your friend is S-O-R-O SORO?
249. You know him?
250. Dude, SORO is a super-famous
high-level solo player.
251. "High-level"? "Solo"?
252. "Solo" means he doesn't
group with anyone.
253. Among the ARKS, he's known as
Mr. Aloof, the Aloof Warrior.
254. Why would he team up with me?
255. That's what I'd like to know.
256. But I do know this.
257. SORO fell back to the rear
so he could support you.
258. "Support"?
259. It means using healing items
on you when your HP gets low
260. or creating cover for you,
even if you're surrounded.
261. I didn't notice at all.
262. I just thought I was amazing.
263. What? He didn't turn in his report?
264. He said he didn't play.
265. He couldn't stick to it.
266. You look dispirited.
267. Is your failure on
ORACLE bothering you?
268. What?
269. I heard you talking to
Kayano Kota on the roof.
270. Oh.
271. Debts accrued on the battlefield
can only be repaid on the battlefield.
272. You're an ARKS, too?
273. I am.
274. At all times.
275. If you truly are an ARKS,
don't throw away your own relationships.
276. The battle will continue
with even greater intensity.
277. Talk about an exaggeration.
278. Online
279. Itsuki
280. Offline
281. Maybe I was too hard on him.
282. Many beginners are overenthusiastic.
283. That's fine.
284. But you're playing haphazardly without
reflecting on your inexperienced self,
285. and paying no heed to the conditions
of your surroundings or even yourself.
286. You're a failure of an ARKS!
287. Who cares as long as
he's enjoying himself?
288. You messed up, SORO.
289. What? No report today, either?
290. You didn't play again yesterday?
291. No.
292. Tachibana-kun, a minute.
293. I'm sorry.
294. Yesterday, I fell asleep while
working on an assignment.
295. Listen up!
296. Stop lying all the time!
297. I know you've been logging in!
298. You think I don't know
anything, don't you?
299. Unfortunately, I can
see right through you!
300. But if I said that,
you'd know I'm SORO!
301. And even though I said those harsh things,
I wasn't trying to criticize you!
302. I'm planning to apologize
for that as SORO, too!
303. But if you won't show yourself,
I can't apologize!
304. I hate this situation!
I want to clear the air!
305. But it'd be even worse
if he found out I'm SORO!
306. Someone tell me what to do here!
307. Um...
308. What?
309. What did you want to discuss?
310. It's nothing.
311. Excuse me, then.
312. It's no use.
313. My communication
skills are too low.
314. He's not even logging in today.
315. I even said I didn't mean any harm.
316. Wait, I haven't told him yet.
317. Crap!
318. I just spotted Mr. Aloof
in the hard Forest area.
319. Hard Forest?
320. What's a veteran player doing there?
321. Maybe he changed classes.
322. He had a launcher.
323. I saw him, too.
324. As usual, he was good, but not
as good as he normally is.
325. I don't have time
to destroy the cage.
326. What's that?
327. A rockbear!
328. Why now?
329. Crap!
330. Don't! He'll counter you!
331. Itsuki, you...
332. This is...
333. Can you destroy the cage yourself?
334. You're worried about me?
335. U-Um...
336. I'm sorry about the other day.
337. No, I'm sorry.
338. You fought excellently.
339. What?
340. Thank you.
341. After this, let's enjoy a concert.
342. A concert?
343. Quests aren't the only way to enjoy PSO2.
344. Hey, guys. Thanks for coming.
345. I'll sing passionately with my
entire body and soul again today.
346. Brilliantly, intensely, and vividly!
347. Get amped with me now.
348. It really is a concert.
349. Why did you become my friend, SORO?
350. Everyone here calls me Aloof.
351. No. SORO.
352. That's what I'll call you.
353. Do as you please.
354. PSO2 Report
Tachibana Itsuki
355. Here's my report.
356. Sorry.
357. Good work.
358. Yes?
359. Class 2-B, Suzuki Aika,
entering the room.
360. Suzuki-san?
361. Are you Itsuki's superior officer?
362. "Superior officer"?
363. Who are you?
364. Sh-She's an unusual girl who
just returned from abroad.
365. Her overseas experience...
366. Shouldn't matter.
367. I have a question.
368. Why did you choose this
man to be an ARKS?
369. How dare you speak to
the president that way?
370. Because I have something to prove.
371. Prove?
372. The Ethernet that enabled
high-speed wireless communication
373. has spread throughout the world
over the past several years,
374. marking the advent of what should be
called a communication revolution.
375. The online game PSO2
376. that comes pre-installed on the
next-generation cloud OS "ESC-A"
377. has spread explosively, primarily among
the young, along with the Ethernet.
378. PSO2 is a symbol of this era
of communication revolution,
379. and the academy is
considering banning it.
380. Involving itself in the
freedom of students
381. who enjoy the game is tantamount to
interfering with their private lives.
382. I simply wish to prove
383. that online games don't cause
students to neglect their studies
384. and prevent this tyranny
under the name of authority.
385. So the academy is the Darkers,
and you're ARKS?
386. That's not a great metaphor.
387. Are you a fan of PSO2, as well?
388. Lately, I've been trying
a different class,
389. but I've mastered the Force,
Techer, and Bouncer classes.
390. I've completed all missions
in the VR training program.
391. Tachibana-kun.
392. Yes?
393. She's good.
394. I see.
395. From now on, have her help you
write your PSO2 reports.
396. What? But...
397. I hereby appoint her a special
officer of the student council
398. and adviser to the vice president.
399. What?
400. I'm counting on you, Suzuki-san.
401. Got it.
402. What's going on?
403. Next Episode
404. Next Episode
405. SORO-san.
406. Whoa, be careful!
407. Why did you suddenly hug me?
408. What does an ARKS idol want with me?
409. That's not much of a reaction.
410. Are you really a man?
411. What?
412. What are you talking about?
413. No matter how you look
at me, I'm clearly a man.
