292. really interested in the packing process of salmon

293. just so I can feed a bald eagle.

295. So I was out at like 10:30 last night,

296. and it was probably about this light.

651. Dungeness Crab you've ever had.

865. but the actual ice that we're standing on

876. - This glacier is as big as, say, Rhode Island.

877. It's a 1500-square-mile body of ice.

879. - And this is one of 38 little glaciers coming out

880. of that 1500-square-mile body of ice.

881. So we get a lot of melt in here.

882. Where does the water go?

883. It goes down the sides.

884. And these are the kind of things we can

885. get a little nervous around.

888. is a lateral crevasse.

889. It's caused by the glacier dragging

890. against the rocks there.

891. The glacier is always flowing down.

892. As we're standing here, the glacier is moving.

893. So this glacier has been receding for about 300 years

894. now, and it's really starting to recede fast.

895. - Why is that? Is it global warming, is it —

896. - Yes. The temperatures are getting warmer.

897. We finally have gone over that tipping point,

898. and as it melts it's starting to melt faster

899. and faster and faster.
