1. Hello.
2. Are you all right?
3. I can't really answer that right now.
4. Can you walk?
5. Yes. Thanks.
6. Those creatures are very territorial,
7. and we are in their territory now.
8. All right, let's go.
9. You're really her.
10. You're Keiko Randa.
11. Were you expecting someone else?
12. I wasn't expecting to be alive.
13. I know the feeling.
14. We need to move.
15. Wait.
16. Who are you? What's your name?
17. I'm Cate.
18. Well, how did you get here?
19. We fell.
20. Oh, my God. May.
21. We have to find the people I came with.
22. Is Billy with you?
23. What?
24. Bill Randa?
25. - Lee Shaw?
- We have to go back.
26. - We have to find them!
- We will. Calm down.
27. This way.
28. Now.
29. What were you doing?
30. In Alaska,
31. out in the desert...
32. Did you know Godzilla was there?
33. I didn't know it would be Godzilla,
34. but I needed to draw out a Titan.
35. Why?
36. To open a rift.
37. To prove the network exists.
38. There's a gateway
39. that leads to their world
40. inside our own.
41. All this to prove your theory was right?
42. That my parents were right.
43. If they hadn't been dismissed as lunatics, heretics, by Monarch...
If they hadn't been dismissed as lunatics, heretics, by Monarch...
44. maybe G-Day would never have happened.
45. Maybe Cate
46. would still be here.
47. Cate's not dead because of Monarch.
48. She's dead because of us.
49. Because I believed in you.
50. But all you ever cared about was this!
51. That isn't true.
52. I only wanted to protect you from this.
53. But you didn't need my protection.
54. That was my mistake.
55. You want to spare others the pain we feel?
You want to spare others the pain we feel?
56. You want to find a way for the
human species to survive?
57. Help me.
58. Work with me.
59. We can solve this.
60. Together.
61. Solve what?
62. The secret of co-existence.
63. All right.
64. If you can answer one question.
65. That's what matters to you now?
66. With the fate of the world at stake?
67. The choice I made...
68. You think I haven't tried
to understand it myself?
69. Would you rather that I hadn't
fallen in love with your mother?
70. That our family never existed?
71. Our family doesn't exist.
Our family doesn't exist.
72. Not anymore.
73. If the rest of
your rescue party follow my beacon,
74. there's only one place they can come out.
75. I knew once they find my signal
they'd come.
76. I'm sorry.
77. Signal?
78. What signal?
79. You're not part of a rescue party,
are you?
80. You didn't expect to find me here.
81. You're not Monarch.
82. Who are you?
83. Oh, my God.
84. May.
85. Oh, my God.
86. Tell me who you are.
87. Holy shit.
88. Keiko!
89. Keiko, is that really you?
90. Of course it is.
91. Who is this?
92. It's me, Kei.
93. It's Lee.
94. Lee?
95. Your voice sounds different.
Come out where I can see you.
96. No, just stay there for a second.
97. There's some things
you need to understand first.
98. What things?
99. How long do you think
you've been down here, Kei?
100. By my estimation, 57 days.
By my estimation, 57 days.
101. Why?
102. Why are you hiding from me?
103. I came down here too, Kei. After you fell.
104. - I led a recon mission.
- Wait, you were here?
105. How? When?
106. That mission was in 1962.
107. It's 1959. You're not making sense.
108. I came down here in 1962.
109. I thought I was here
for only a week or so,
110. and then I was able to get right back up.
111. I escaped, but it was—
112. It was 1982.
113. No.
114. And that was thirty-three years ago.
115. Yeah.
116. With all the gravitational distortion...
117. some warping of space-time would make—
118. Is it true?
119. Is it 2015?
120. You always were good with numbers, Kei.
121. - Lee.
- I can't believe you're alive. I...
- Lee.
- I can't believe you're alive. I...
122. It's you.
123. It is you.
124. Lee.
125. Billy...
126. No, Kei. He's gone.
127. - He died a long time ago.
- Oh, no.
128. No. No, no, no, no.
129. Hiroshi?
130. Hiroshi?
131. He's fine.
132. He's fine. He's okay.
133. How do you know?
134. Who are you?
135. I'm your granddaughter.
136. How's the leg?
137. It's good. Only hurts when I walk on it.
138. Get your ass in a seat then.
139. The gamma emissions
seemed to have stabilized.
140. Still high, but not end-of-the-world high.
Still high, but not end-of-the-world high.
141. We called in every warm body we could.
142. Most of the outposts are back online...
143. barely.
144. Any word from Duvall?
145. Were you expecting one?
146. Not really.
147. What about the signal?
148. - It is not our priority right now.
- Someone could be alive
149. and that is not a priority?
150. With the whole planet still humming
like a pressure cooker?
151. With every station on alert
for a possible emergence? No, it's not.
152. If someone survived down there,
they might know what's going on.
153. - That feels like it might be a big deal.
- In normal times it would be a huge deal,
154. but we are looking at
a wave of Titan events
155. threatening the lives
of seven billion people.
156. I'm not peeling off resources
to save three.
157. Okay. What if the three
could save the seven billion?
158. Someone is alive down there.
159. And they might have the answers we need, and they are calling us for help.
And they might have the answers we need, and they are calling us for help.
160. We cannot pretend that we don't hear 'em!
161. Look at the map, Tim.
162. Look at the scale of
what we are trying to stop.
163. My hands are tied.
164. Then untie them!
165. Otherwise Shaw was right about us.
166. He was definitely right about you.
167. I need you to think very carefully
about the next words you're gonna say.
168. Now, are you going to take your seat,
169. do your job,
170. and help us deal with this crisis?
171. Or do I need to
extend your medical leave indefinitely?
172. Oh, my God.
173. Unbelievable.
174. I reconfigured the emitter tube
to send out a directional gamma ray pulse
175. to let you know where I was.
176. So Monarch made it to 1962.
177. They're around even today.
178. Dad was part of it.
179. Tell me about him.
180. He's a family man.
181. He followed in your footsteps.
182. And when Monarch wouldn't let him,
he did it on his own.
183. He never knew— knows when to stop.
184. Is he happy?
185. Why don't you ask him that yourself?
186. Can you rewire this back
to its original configuration?
187. Yes. I think so.
188. Well, in that case,
189. I'm gonna take you home.
190. I told you it wouldn't take long.
191. I gave most everything away.
192. I still need to make a few more trips.
193. Where will you go?
194. San Francisco.
195. Just for a few days.
196. There are some things I need to do...
197. for the divorce.
198. Emiko,
199. from now on...
200. After the attack on San Francisco,
201. we called everyone we could think of.
202. Hospitals. The Red Cross.
Hospitals. The Red Cross.
203. We searched the internet.
204. I never gave up hope that
you would come home.
205. We dreamed about this day.
206. No matter what you did to me,
207. your son deserves a
relationship with his father.
208. So please,
209. when you find out where you'll be staying,
210. let Kentaro know.
211. You're good. Just keep going.
212. - Can we go around?
- This is the only way.
213. - May, don't get hooked up on the tree.
- Steady.
214. - Look out. Oh, damn it.
- Got it.
215. Yeah. Let's take five.
216. We've got all the time in the world.
217. - Yeah.
- I don't know about you guys,
218. but I'd like to get back to a world
with flying cars and robot butlers.
219. Yeah. And maybe nursing homes on the moon.
220. Okay. I think we can all use a breather.
221. Works for me.
222. Hold on, Keiko.
223. Hey, seriously...
224. - don't go far.
- Don't go far.
225. - All right. You ready?
- Yeah.
226. Two, three...
227. You mind if I join you?
228. What are you doing here?
229. Your mother said I might find you here.
230. How's your leg?
How's your leg?
231. It hurts when it rains.
232. Yours?
233. Makes a funny clicking sound.
234. Kanpai.
235. Wow.
236. I'm not usually a big whiskey guy—
237. What are you doing here?
238. The gamma ray bursts,
we found a coherent signal.
239. A signal?
240. - A message.
- From who?
241. I don't know,
242. but it's coming from inside the rifts.
243. What am I supposed to do with it?
I don't know what any of this means.
244. No, you don't...
245. but your father might.
246. Thank you.
247. Kei, I gotta tell you...
248. you look exactly as you've always looked
in my mind's eye.
249. All these years.
250. Exactly.
251. I've been talking to you and Billy
in my head
252. the whole time I was here.
253. Yeah.
254. Who you were anyway.
255. What happened to Billy?
256. I heard that—
257. I guess he was leading
an expedition to some island and...
258. was trying to prove some of
the theories about all this
259. and...
260. he never came back.
261. But he did it, Kei.
262. He was the last man standing.
263. I mean, he went down swinging.
264. He saved Monarch.
265. He saved everything you and he built.
266. Everything the three of us built.
267. Yeah.
268. Yeah.
269. I've lost so much time, Lee.
270. What's it like now?
271. 2015.
272. Even the words sound fantastic.
273. Yeah, cars are smaller and more efficient,
nowhere near as cool.
274. But the, you know, TV sets are bigger,
flat. Everybody's got one.
275. I mean, they're everywhere.
276. And, you know, gadgets.
277. You know, they got a phone
that does everything and it's—
278. Oh, hey, we went to the moon.
279. Yeah.
280. Of course, I missed
that one too because I was down here.
281. But, you know, it's...
But, you know, it's...
282. Same old world.
283. Same people...
284. conflicts, triumphs.
285. You know, moms, dads...
286. kids.
287. Well, speaking of kids,
I guess I should check in on ours.
288. I don't know if this will get to you.
I hope so. I don't know if this will get to you. I hope so.
289. Actually, I don't,
because it will probably mean I'm dead,
290. which you may not feel
too busted up about.
291. Sorry, I gotta keep this short.
292. You may never forgive me
for what I took from you,
293. and I can't go back in time and fix
all the mistakes that I made.
294. But maybe I could leave something
for the future.
295. A legacy.
296. And you'll realize it was all worth it.
297. Hello, Hiroshi.
298. Tim.
299. What are you doing here?
300. May we come in?
301. I thought you wanted my help?
302. Your father.
303. I always appreciated your fidelity to my parents' memory, Tim, but...
I always appreciated your fidelity to my parents' memory, Tim, but...
304. I'm very busy.
305. And I have no interest
in working with Monarch.
306. Well, that's probably good
307. because they wouldn't touch you
with a ten-foot pole.
308. Then what do you want?
309. Just show him.
310. Gamma ray bursts
coming from inside the rifts.
311. I'm well aware of gamma emissions.
312. No. Not these.
313. They're not the same
as the ones we detected before G-Day.
314. There is a coherent signal in there.
315. Coherent?
316. How? By what?
317. By who.
318. He thinks Cate could be alive.
319. Why are you doing this?
320. Look, it sounds crazy, I know.
321. - It's impossible.
- It's not impossible. Shaw came back.
322. And the rest of the team didn't.
323. The variables are nearly infinite.
The variables are nearly infinite.
324. You sound like you don't
want it to be true.
325. Of course I want it to be true!
326. But there's a big difference between
what you want to be and what could be.
327. This is cruel.
328. You said you wanted me to work with you.
329. To finish your journey.
330. Fine. I'm in.
331. But first, help me find my sister.
332. How? Monarch won't help.
333. Not with something like this.
334. No, they won't.
335. And that's why I quit.
336. Monarch isn't the only game in town.
337. So if we're in
the realm of the Titans or whatever,
338. why does it look so much like Earth?
339. Because it is. Parts of it, anyway.
340. Different pieces of home.
341. Different pieces of their world.
342. All put together like a patchwork quilt.
343. I don't think this is the realm of the Titans at all.
I don't think this is the realm of the Titans at all.
344. It's a place between places.
345. I call it "Axis Mundi."
346. The pole between heaven and earth.
347. You know.
348. Schoolteacher.
349. Look, there it goes again.
350. Let's put it down.
351. How is light getting in
when we're underground?
352. How do you know we are underground?
353. 'Cause we fell down a hole.
354. - Did we fall?
- Yeah.
355. Or did we enter?
356. The rabbit hole.
357. Welcome to it, Alice.
358. We're almost there.
359. Let's keep moving.
360. - Okay. Ready?
- All right.
361. Yeah.
362. Two, three. Up.
363. Okay.
364. Well, there she is.
365. Right where I left her.
366. What is that?
367. That is our ride.
368. Come on, let's go.
369. Gotta be kidding me.
370. It's amazing. This is amazing, isn't it?
371. It is.
372. Fifty-three years
and it's still got juice.
373. It's only been here a few weeks.
374. Thank you for reminding me, Dr. Randa.
375. All right, let's get these things wired up
and get the hell out of here.
376. - Give it a little slack, May.
- Okay.
377. - And now, Kei...
- Yep.
378. Make sure you put the black line up top.
379. It allows us to control it...
380. - I got it.
- ... From inside the pod.
381. What?
382. That sounded close.
383. All right. Everybody in the pod. Let's go.
384. - Kei. I got it.
- Do not rush me.
385. I got it. I know how to finish it.
386. - I've got this.
- Kei. Stop.
387. - Kei, what is wrong with you?
- I'm staying behind.
388. What?
389. Billy's gone.
390. And my boy grew up without me.
391. I am not going to ruin his life
again by reappearing suddenly.
392. Whatever's out there...
393. it's not my world.
394. Not anymore.
395. No.
396. These monsters
have taken everything from me.
397. No more.
398. This curse is broken.
399. You still have work to do up there.
400. And we need you.
401. Now let's move our asses
and get out of here.
402. She's your granddaughter.
403. Funny.
404. All right, if everyone will
fasten their seat belts,
405. we're first in line for takeoff.
406. I'm assuming this flight
doesn't have drink service.
407. Nope. But when we get back,
first round's on me. Yeah?
408. - Ready?
- Just waiting for you.
409. Kinda seems like old times, huh?
410. Speak for yourself.
411. All right.
412. Let's go home.
413. Hey, copilot.
414. - See that radar scope in front of you?
- Yeah.
415. When that thing starts blipping,
it means the device has lured a Titan
416. that will open the rift
and that's our way home.
417. But how do we take off?
418. Just hang on.
I think you'll know it when you feel it.
419. Just holler when it hits 3,000 feet.
420. I'll shut the device off.
The Titan's retreat will pull us in.
421. Lee, what is it? What do you see?
422. Shit.
423. We lured a Titan that was already here.
424. Brace!
425. There's something coming
through the rift. 7,000 feet.
426. 5,000 feet.
5,000 feet.
427. - Come on!
- 4,000.
428. Shaw! What do we do?
429. We're running out of time
and we're not gonna get another shot.
430. Oh, my God.
431. It's leaving. It's going away from us.
432. Shit.
433. - Wait, what are you doing?
- My job.
434. - What are you doing? No! Stop!
- Get back here!
435. Stop! Lee!
436. No! What are you doing?
437. Oh, can't anything ever be easy?
438. Lee, get back here!
439. No, no, no, no, no. We're losing it.
440. Lee!
441. - Lee!
- No!
442. Lee!
443. Lee!
444. Lee! Run! Lee!
445. Lee, hold my hand!
446. I got you! Don't let go!
447. - No!
- Come back!
448. - Lee, no! I got you!
- It's too much weight, Kei!
449. - It's all right, Kei.
- No, I'm not letting go!
450. Thank you...
451. - No.
- ... For everything.
452. Don't let...
453. No! Lee!
454. Lee!
455. No!
456. Kei, look at me. Strap in!
457. Where are we?
458. What is this place?
459. Who are you?
460. Cate!
461. Cate.
462. Welcome back.
463. - You did all this?
- Me? No.
464. I don't understand most of it.
465. But we were lucky someone
had already done a lot of the math.
466. Dad.
467. Mama?
Mama?
468. You got so big.
469. I'm so sorry.
470. I'm so sorry.
471. Kentaro,
472. I'd like you to meet our grandmother.
473. This is my brother.
474. I hate to interrupt, but we'd like
to get you into medical and debriefing.
475. It's this way.
476. Brenda, what are you doing here?
477. Well, someone had to pay for all of this.
478. Are you working with her now?
479. It's complicated.
480. A lot's changed in the past two years.
481. Two years?
482. Shall we go?
483. Come on. Let's go. Go.
Come on. Let's go. Go.
