1. So, now I'm grounded until TJ's eyebrows grow back.

2. Mix this in chem lab next period.

3. It's a hair growth solution. You'll be free by Wednesday.

4. Only you.

5. It's the moment you've all been waiting for.

6. The winning theme for our school dance is...

7. - Our first school dance! - Whoo!

8. We're gonna dance our tails off, right, Squirrels?

9. This booty was made for shakin'.

10. Lu, what's up? You're coming with us.

11. - You know that, right? - Me?

12. Girl, you're in our squad.

13. You gotta.

14. Okay, I'm in.

15. So Brooklyn invited me to go with all of them,

16. and I'm gonna have killer dance moves.

17. I'm doing it, Mel-Varr. I'm being a normal teen,

18. doing normal teenager things.

19. She said from her secret underground laboratory

20. while programming self-dancing boots.

21. Okay, okay, not the most normal, but you know what I mean.

22. Lunella Lafayette is going to a school dance.

23. Cool! But what exactly is a school dance?

24. Oh, it's a human socialization ritual in which people pair off

25. and move their bodies to music.

26. It's a standard rite of passage for teens.

27. Oh!

28. It kinda sounds like the Kree battles

29. with the Zargarian mothmen.

30. Only with less gore and guts and stuff.

31. Ooh! Whoops! Oh!

32. Looks like these boots have a "run time" error.

33. Okay, I gotta go.

34. Y'all, I got a date to the dance.

35. - Aw! - I love love.

36. - Huh? - Andy from improv class asked,

37. so I said yes and...

38. Um, I thought we were going as a group?

39. Oh, yeah, totally.

40. Whew!

41. - I've got a date to the dance now. - Same.

42. - What? - Me too.

43. The parental unit actually said okay.

44. - Wait, what? - But you can still tag along.

45. Mm-hmm.

46. Eduardo.

47. You, me, a little school dance. What do you say?

48. Oh, wow.

49. Uh... okay. Ahem!

50. I actually already have— Have a date.

51. Oh. Ha ha!

52. Oh, yeah. I mean, oh, of course you do.

53. No, but if I'd known that you wanted to go—

54. Yeah, it's— It's totally cool, man.

55. Just forget I said anything.

56. Casey, you'll hang out with me at the dance, right?

57. 'Cause suddenly everybody's all, "Ooh, dates,"

58. and, blam, we're adults now?

59. Oh, Lu, I love you with my whole heart,

60. but I'm gonna be running around all night,

61. making sure that everything is perfecto.

62. - And I'm sure you're not the only— - Two, please!

63. - There's a two-for-one discount. - Huh?

64. I am the only person at school without a date.

65. Or am I?

66. Oh. Hey, D.

67. Just solving my own problems.

68. You know what they say.

69. If you can't get a date, clone a date.

70. I got some DNA from a leftover hair follicle

71. of my favorite musical superstar and yours.

72. Clap your hands together for Blobby the Myth.

73. Oh!

74. Cloning is still a nascent scientific field, all right?

75. But I think he'll make an okay dance partner.

76. What do you mean, this isn't me?

77. Yeah, this is the real me.

78. You're right. I've never gone along with the crowd.

79. Maybe it's the same thing with dating.

80. I gotta go at my own pace.

81. I don't need a date.

82. Oh, Casey made you the bouncer?

83. Oh, so with you as my wingman,

84. and me looking cool as Freon in my new glitter boots,

85. I'm gonna be rocking out, solo dolo.

86. Love the moon. Consider me enchanted.

87. This is gonna be a great night, am I right?

88. Absolutely not! Not you. I'm talking to the caterers.

89. They messed up big-time.

90. You might not have a date, but you look cute enough for two.

91. I gotta bolt. You have fun. Plug this in? Okay, thanks, bye!

92. Hey, there, Lu, don't stand there on the sidelines.

93. - Get in the game. - Whoa!

94. I'm fine!

95. Oh...

96. Okay, I'm not fine!

97. Devil.

98. This feels horrible.

99. Everyone has a date to the dance but me.

100. I know.

101. I want to dance,

102. but I don't want to have to date someone to do it.

103. I just don't feel ready.

104. Oh!

105. Is that...

106. - Mel-Varr! - Whew! I'm okay.

107. Well, not "okay" okay.

108. - The Zargarian are trying to torture me. - Yeesh. The mothmen?

109. Yup. General Hyles is my dad's sworn enemy.

110. Ha! He has a lot of sworn enemies.

111. But this one is trying to kidnap me again

112. so he can ransom me again

113. and torture me with bloodsucking space leeches again,

114. and I hate it, and I tried to call you, but you didn't answer,

115. and can you please help hide me?

116. The Zargarian are attracted to bright lights,

117. so anywhere dark is good. Your lab should be safe.

118. Or, or...

119. you, "Marvin,"

120. could hide inside and pretend to be my date.

121. Oh. What's a date?

122. A date is another socialization ritual

123. in which humans pair off and exchange gestures of affection.

124. Some examples of said gestures include smiling at each other,

125. giving each other flowers,

126. or pretending to like the same video games,

127. even though Jupiter Jam

128. is the stupidest single-player game ever invented.

129. - Ha! I love Jupiter Jam. - Oh, no, yeah, me too.

130. That was just an example.

131. As you can see here from this empirical evidence,

132. all regular people pair up.

133. So this dance is the perfect way to fit in.

134. I mean, uh, place to hide.

135. It is dark in the dance.

136. That's them! Let's do it.

137. - Ooh, I got a date. - Right now!

138. Ah! The Zargarian?

139. Lunella has a date!

140. - Oh! - And it's Marvin!

141. So cute!

142. Hooray, Marvin's back.

143. - Oh. Whew. - Time to engage

144. in human socialization rituals,

145. like, uh...

146. Oh, uh, we'll just do what Geri and Andy are doing.

147. Classic date ritual. Get your date punch.

148. For you.

149. - Thanks. - Sincerely yours.

150. For you.

151. Thanks.

152. Now what?

153. My mom said I have to give you this.

154. Aw! Tell her thanks.

155. Ah. Flowers. That's a date thing.

156. Uh, do that.

157. Ta-da.

158. Oh, wait, I'm allergic to carna—

159. Me too—

160. Let's just hang out for a minute.

161. Yeah, let's do that.

162. You're so funny.

163. Oh, a flirty convo. Go.

164. So...

165. Oh!

166. Check out my Kree-municator. You were right.

167. I was able to juice up the power density of the battery.

168. Oh! Watts up.

169. - Cobalt oxide cathode? - For sure.

170. But I really want to try combining iodine with—

171. Uh, hold up, Marv.

172. What are we doing? No shop talk at a dance.

173. Uh, quick, say something sweet about my eyes.

174. Okay. Um...

175. your socket-to-face ratio

176. is mathematically pleasing?

177. Oh, you're the best.

178. Oh, right. The step-and-repeat.

179. Selfie time.

180. As Casey always says, "Pics or it never happened."

181. Do we, uh, hold hands?

182. Maybe put my arm here, or—

183. Okay, this time— Oops!

184. Quick, we must find the Kree child.

185. Ooh, Pad-Varr is going to be, like,

186. so mad when he finds out we have his son again.

187. Remember, he may be disguised as,

188. ugh, an earthling.

189. Is that him?

190. No, I meant a human earthling.

191. Kree technology detected.

192. The boy is near.

193. Oh, lights.

194. Prepare for the worst torture of your young life, Kree-ling.

195. Can we maybe hide out someplace else?

196. Yeah, maybe we should.

197. But could we maybe just have this one slow dance?

198. Then we can go.

199. I swear on a stack of encyclopedias.

200. - How big a stack? - Oh, it's A through Z.

201. O and K.

202. - One dance. - Ah!

203. Get the big, red guy.

204. And now, the spotlight dance.

205. Oh, yes, that is helpful.

206. Oh, cute it up, Marvin.

207. The spotlight dance is a dating ritual extra credit.

208. Look, Lunella, I kind of want to go.

209. Shining a light on I.S. 833's cutest couple.

210. Just one more dance.

211. Lu, I mean it! Please stop!

212. It's not that I don't like you,

213. or even that I don't "like you" like you,

214. 'cause I really do "like you" like you like you...

215. but this dating thing, I'm just not ready for it.

216. I'm still a kid.

217. I haven't even invaded my first planet yet.

218. I can't be all...

219. You're so, so great,

220. and I wanted to go along with it,

221. but cutest couple?

222. is Lunella Lafayette and Marvin...

223. Guy.

224. Ohh! The light! It'll attract—

225. The mothmen.

226. It is he.

227. Yikes! Marvin!

228. It's icky, but cool, right?

229. It's cool?

230. Are we gonna be okay?

231. What? What's going on?

232. Oh, calm down. Calm down.

233. We are but gentle mothmen.

234. We're only here to torture you.

235. Not all of you.

236. Just this one.

237. Oh, no! No, not Marvin, dawg!

238. The sound of your delicious, delicious screams

239. will let your father know

240. that the Zargarian finally have the upper hand.

241. Prepare the space leeches.

242. Whoa!

243. This is bad, but for what it's worth,

244. you two were a super-cute couple.

245. We're not even a couple.

246. Ugh! I'm not ready for this dating stuff.

247. Hold up, hold up, hold up. You didn't want a date, either?

248. Wait, you didn't want a date?

249. - Not really. - Same.

250. Yeah, sorry.

251. Actually, I'm totally into the dating thing.

252. - Born ready. - Which is cool,

253. but I just did it 'cause I thought

254. that's what you were supposed to do.

255. But wait, whoa. But you and Andy

256. are the textbook example of how to date.

257. Ecch. I know, right?

258. All that romance stuff. Gross.

259. Andy's cool, but that "yes, and" should have been a "no, but."

260. Got the space leeches!

261. At least my night doesn't include

262. getting tortured by space leeches.

263. Oh, right. Yeah, I-I gotta go do a thing.

264. No, you cannot substitute

265. the kampachi crudo for chicken fingers. Whoa!

266. Go get Devil, and be ready in five.

267. Aces.

268. Ugh, are these the freshest leeches we have?

269. - Seem kind of dry. - It'll still stick on his face.

270. You just gotta lick it first.

271. Ugh. Are we torturing him, or are you torturing me?

272. - Do better. Go get me a— - Wait!

273. Um, you can't take Marvin.

274. - He's my date! - Aww!

275. - That's so cute. - Oh, sheesh.

276. We really don't have time for this.

277. Just let me say goodbye

278. and, um, take a goodbye selfie.

279. A goodbye selfie?

280. That's not a thing.

281. - Is that a thing? - Oh, yeah, yeah.

282. - It's totally a thing. - Fine.

283. But make it snappy.

284. We have a pretty tight torture sched to keep.

285. Lu, what are you doing?

286. - We gotta talk. - Yeah. Look, I'm sorry.

287. I know I should have said something sooner.

288. No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have pressured you to be my date.

289. That was so not cool.

290. And honestly, I don't want to date you, either.

291. - Huh? - I was just trying to be normal.

292. But this feels too, ugh, grown-up,

293. and I don't like it, either. I'm uncomfortable.

294. I made you uncomfortable.

295. Can we just be friends now?

296. Friends? Into it.

297. Um, are you gonna take our selfie, or...

298. No. I need your Kree phone and your juiced-up battery.

299. The light! The light!

300. So pretty!

301. Hey, get back here.

302. - Thanks. - What?

303. I knew a goodbye selfie wasn't a thing.

304. Forget normal. Let's go be super.

305. Uh, let's go get Moon Girl and Kid Kree!

306. Good idea!

307. Attack!

308. Casey, hit the disco lights.

309. Girl, come on. You know I've got a whole dance fight thing ready.

310. Yeah, I can't not jump in. Yes! Dance fight!

311. No, don't! They're all gonna laugh at me!

312. And now I'm all sticky.

313. Oh, good, you are back. You missed Moon Girl.

314. - Oh, did I? - Yeah, and it was bonkers.

315. She and that Kid Kree kicked moth butt.

316. Do moths even have butts? Too bad you missed it.

317. - Yeah, that's a bummer. - Yeah, too bad for us.

318. Well, now that the mothmen have left the building,

319. let's get this party restarted!

320. So, uh, you want to dance?

321. Sure.

322. As friends.

323. Okay, ready to really kick things off?

324. You know it.

325. - Ooh! - Ooh!

326. So cute.

327. Ohh!

328. - Oh, that is so adorable. - Oh, so cute!

329. Gosh!

330. - Yeah, I don't know, man. - Oh!

331. So cute.

332. Why his hairline like that, bro?

333. Aw, so cute.

334. I don't know about my man's hairline, bro.
