1. Oh, it tastes like fish eggs.Copy !req
2. I think they are, Einstein.Copy !req
3. And it tops out at $200 an ounce.Copy !req
4. You two really think
you can crash this party?Copy !req
5. - Yes.
- We're kind of ambitious.Copy !req
6. - Are you gonna kick us out, bro?
- Depends.Copy !req
7. Are you pompous jackasses?Copy !req
8. Uh, well, we're not... pompous.Copy !req
9. Help yourself.Copy !req
10. Mmm, the taste kind of grows on you.Copy !req
11. You wanna get down on this?
Pull up a stool.Copy !req
12. Uh, you do that.
I'm gonna find the alcohol.Copy !req
13. Genius! And grab me a beer!Copy !req
14. It's not a cabin cruiser,
it's a yacht.Copy !req
15. For the $24,000
we're paying Dalton,Copy !req
16. I would expect Jackson's
modern dance to be included.Copy !req
17. I like the way
the Jets are playing this year.Copy !req
18. - Excuse me.
- It's time to go.Copy !req
19. - No, I'm just looking for...
- You found it.Copy !req
20. Come on.Copy !req
21. He's with me.Copy !req
22. Excuse me.Copy !req
23. Mmm! German beer.
Tastes like piss.Copy !req
24. What the hell are you doing here?Copy !req
25. You've never been hard to find.Copy !req
26. That's not what I asked.Copy !req
27. At least your furniture's improved.Copy !req
28. Kinda liked my old futon.Copy !req
29. I liked breaking it in.Copy !req
30. Nice place.Copy !req
31. Too bad about the clothes, though.Copy !req
32. Why are you here?Copy !req
33. Would you believe it if I said
I missed you?Copy !req
34. - No.
- Smart man.Copy !req
35. Columbia education really paid off.Copy !req
36. No thanks to you.Copy !req
37. I'm in New York for a meeting.
I thought I'd pop by.Copy !req
38. Well, you're not staying here, so...Copy !req
39. Fine.Copy !req
40. My penthouse in midtown
will just have to do, then.Copy !req
41. We spent some nights there.Copy !req
42. Look, if you came here
to walk down memory lane,Copy !req
43. - I don't really have the...
- I'm sorry.Copy !req
44. I've spent years trying to convince myself
that things happen for a reason,Copy !req
45. that you and I were not meant to be.Copy !req
46. But I know now.
That wasn't fate.Copy !req
47. It was a choice.Copy !req
48. My choice.Copy !req
49. And I'm sorry.Copy !req
50. I'm alone in the world, Matthew.Copy !req
51. Do you know what that feels like?Copy !req
52. Of course you do.Copy !req
53. And you know what it's like
to clean up your father's messes.Copy !req
54. A long time ago, before he died,Copy !req
55. my father did business
with the Roxxon Corporation.Copy !req
56. Roxxon?Copy !req
57. Energy, cleaning supplies,
macaroni and cheese.Copy !req
58. Child labor, slave trade.Copy !req
59. They have their fingers in everything.Copy !req
60. I believe it's called diversification.Copy !req
61. And thanks to my father's
shitty investments,Copy !req
62. they hold most of his wealth.Copy !req
63. Yeah, okay, I...Copy !req
64. I have a meeting tomorrow with the board
at the Yakatomi Building.Copy !req
65. And I need your help, Matthew.Copy !req
66. How am I supposed to help you?Copy !req
67. I want you to use that expensive
legal training of yoursCopy !req
68. - to help me get my money back.
- See, I'm a defense lawyer.Copy !req
69. - I'll pay you well.
- I'm not taking your money.Copy !req
70. And, even if I accepted,
there's not enough time.Copy !req
71. - For what?
- Oh, just research.Copy !req
72. Accounts, shareholders,
hierarchy of the...Copy !req
73. - You have 15 hours.
- Fifteen hours, Elektra, are you insane?Copy !req
74. Matthew.Copy !req
75. You're the only person I can trust.Copy !req
76. Well, sweetheart, you don't break into
my house and then talk to me about trust.Copy !req
77. Don't overthink it.Copy !req
78. It's just a bunch of guys
in business suits.Copy !req
79. They won't know what hit them.Copy !req
80. Would be fun, like old times.Copy !req
81. Oh, you and I,
we have very different ideas of fun.Copy !req
82. You can say whatever you want.Copy !req
83. - But I know you...
- No, you don't.Copy !req
84. You don't, not anymore.Copy !req
85. Not... ever again.Copy !req
86. Well...Copy !req
87. that's disappointing.Copy !req
88. Get out.Copy !req
89. Morning.Copy !req
90. We, uh, have anything for breakfast?Copy !req
91. You hungry or hungover?Copy !req
92. Both.Copy !req
93. All right, you need some potassium,
some electrolytes, and a jolt of caffeine.Copy !req
94. I'll give you, uh...Copy !req
95. The last piece of Mrs. DiNizio's
peach cobbler,Copy !req
96. which is the last piece of anything
in this office.Copy !req
97. I guess our finances
haven't improved since last week.Copy !req
98. Yeah, well, clients don't respond well
to a "closed" sign.Copy !req
99. Yeah, it's my fault.Copy !req
100. - I'm sorry, Foggy.
- Don't be.Copy !req
101. Punisher off the street.Copy !req
102. I'm hoping Reyes
will get her jackboot off our neckCopy !req
103. and this office can go back to normal.Copy !req
104. Oh, yeah? Normal? What's that?Copy !req
105. Matt. Uh, good morning.Copy !req
106. Hey, Karen.Copy !req
107. Did you sleep well?Copy !req
108. Uh, not so much. You?Copy !req
109. Me? Yeah, sure.Copy !req
110. I mean...Copy !req
111. Is that coffee I can smell?Copy !req
112. - Hmm?
- Coffee.Copy !req
113. Uh, yeah, um...Copy !req
114. Yeah, arabica for all.Copy !req
115. - For everyone.
- Wow, thank you. You're a goddess.Copy !req
116. Okay, you two.
Let's talk business.Copy !req
117. Potential clients. Real ones.
With bank in the bank.Copy !req
118. Uh, actually, yeah, can we, uh...
talk about these first?Copy !req
119. The, uh, press is still painting CastleCopy !req
120. like he's nothing more than
some deranged lunatic.Copy !req
121. Well, it's not like our boy was
out collecting for the Red Cross.Copy !req
122. - I know. I know, but...
- You think there's more to the story.Copy !req
123. Exactly. I mean, five different papersCopy !req
124. and not a word about the bullet
he took to the brain,Copy !req
125. or his military record, or his family.Copy !req
126. Uh, his family?Copy !req
127. Um...Copy !req
128. Okay, uh...Copy !req
129. I found this photograph.Copy !req
130. It's of him and his wife and kids
at the carousel.Copy !req
131. You found it where?Copy !req
132. I sort of broke into his house.Copy !req
133. - You did what?
- What?Copy !req
134. - It was ill-advised, I know.
- Not to mention dangerous.Copy !req
135. - And illegal.
- Yeah...Copy !req
136. It's all that. All of that.Copy !req
137. And I don't need a lecture or I will
take those coffees back, okay?Copy !req
138. Thank you.Copy !req
139. Look, it's not just about the press.Copy !req
140. The DA's office released their statement
and it's full of holes, too.Copy !req
141. Something big is going on here, guys,
and it all circles back to Frank Castle.Copy !req
142. - Oh, no, no, no...
- Foggy...Copy !req
143. No, come on, we successfully dodged
a metaphorical bulletCopy !req
144. and quite a few literal ones.Copy !req
145. We need to be done with the crazy, guys.Copy !req
146. We need normal.Copy !req
147. I'm sorry.Copy !req
148. I'm really sorry if I...Copy !req
149. - I pushed it too far.
- It's okay.Copy !req
150. I just...Copy !req
151. Uh, I don't think you're wrong
about Castle, but...Copy !req
152. it's really simple, Karen.Copy !req
153. Just... I don't want you to get hurt.Copy !req
154. So, uh...Copy !req
155. Last night.Copy !req
156. Last night?Copy !req
157. I don't... What happened last night?Copy !req
158. - At Josie's? With Foggy?
- You...Copy !req
159. - Did something happen?
- Yeah.Copy !req
160. - Anything else? I don't...
- Yeah?Copy !req
161. Yeah, it was great.Copy !req
162. And I like to think I can do better,
if we're still on for dinner.Copy !req
163. Uh, yeah.Copy !req
164. It's a date.Copy !req
165. Holy shit!Copy !req
166. - That was the bank.
- Oh, no.Copy !req
167. No, it's... all good.
There was a deposit.Copy !req
168. A big one.Copy !req
169. What? Uh...Copy !req
170. Um, yeah...Copy !req
171. Yeah, uh, do me a favor,
don't spend any of it.Copy !req
172. - Why not?
- God...Copy !req
173. I was hit up by a potential client
yesterday, so, I just...Copy !req
174. Is it dirty money?
Are we doing that again?Copy !req
175. No! No, it's nothing like that.
It's just, um...Copy !req
176. I'm not sure
it's gonna work out, let me...Copy !req
177. Let me get into it, I'll...
I'll get back to you.Copy !req
178. Hey, I'm gonna have a Macallan, neat,
and the lady will have, uh...Copy !req
179. another vodka martini.Copy !req
180. - Perceptive.
- Thank you, I try.Copy !req
181. But I can order my own drinks.Copy !req
182. Tequila. Mezcal, if you have it.Copy !req
183. So, thanks for your help.Copy !req
184. It's hard to find reliable
security these days.Copy !req
185. Nice shoes.Copy !req
186. What?Copy !req
187. Wingtips. Good call.
Shine them yourself?Copy !req
188. How'd you know?Copy !req
189. You're not exactly a tough read.Copy !req
190. I...Copy !req
191. could surprise you.Copy !req
192. Doubt it.Copy !req
193. All right.Copy !req
194. You, uh, wanna give it a try?Copy !req
195. Okay.Copy !req
196. You desperately want
to belong somewhere...Copy !req
197. with someone,Copy !req
198. which is the real reason why
you sneak into fancy faculty parties.Copy !req
199. Not because you're sick of your ramenCopy !req
200. and video games routine.Copy !req
201. And now, your mind is racing.Copy !req
202. You're wondering what you can possibly
say or do to keep me on the line,Copy !req
203. because the last thing you want
is to spend the rest of the eveningCopy !req
204. with that scotch
and that shaggy-haired friend of yours.Copy !req
205. You know what your problem is?Copy !req
206. You're pretty.Copy !req
207. You even work the blind thing.Copy !req
208. But you're dumb.Copy !req
209. You lost before you even
stepped to the plate.Copy !req
210. You get all of that
from a pair of old wingtips?Copy !req
211. Quick study.Copy !req
212. - You wanna know what I think?
- Tell me.Copy !req
213. I think the game's just beginning.Copy !req
214. Because despite your artisan tequilasCopy !req
215. and charm-school manners...Copy !req
216. Despite being richer than God and having
the whole world at your fingertips...Copy !req
217. you're just bored.Copy !req
218. Really?Copy !req
219. Bored enough to spend your time
studying a stranger's shoes.Copy !req
220. See, I think you were dying on the vine
of this tight-ass party,Copy !req
221. because Daddy's money can't buy you
the one thing you really need.Copy !req
222. And what's that?Copy !req
223. The unexpected.Copy !req
224. Maybe you're not so dumb.Copy !req
225. Elektra Natchios.Copy !req
226. Matt Murdock.Copy !req
227. Let's go, Matthew.Copy !req
228. On your left.Copy !req
229. Do you like it?Copy !req
230. Sounds expensive.Copy !req
231. You have good ears.Copy !req
232. - Is it yours?
- It is.Copy !req
233. Until we get caught.Copy !req
234. Mr. Tower?Copy !req
235. Uh, I wish you'd called.
I'd have set something up.Copy !req
236. - Are they in?
- Uh, just the Nelson half.Copy !req
237. What's the problem?Copy !req
238. We need to talk.Copy !req
239. In private.Copy !req
240. You know, it's really not
a good idea to piss her off.Copy !req
241. So, what can I do
for the Assistant District Attorney?Copy !req
242. It's more what I can do for you,
Mr. Nelson.Copy !req
243. We need all your files on the Grote case.Copy !req
244. Notes, interviews, any and all
recordings and e-mails.Copy !req
245. And in return, we get...Copy !req
246. I convince District Attorney ReyesCopy !req
247. to scratch the names Nelson
and Murdock off her shit-list.Copy !req
248. Wow.Copy !req
249. There's an actual list?Copy !req
250. - Mr. Nelson, I...
- I'm sorry.Copy !req
251. Believe me, the sooner this Punisher
mess is off our plate, the better.Copy !req
252. So... show me a subpoena, and...Copy !req
253. Is there a problem?Copy !req
254. Are you really going to make me
jump through hoops for this?Copy !req
255. Trust me, there's nothing I'd rather do
more than cooperate with your office.Copy !req
256. But a legal firm sharing privileged
communications with a client,Copy !req
257. I mean, even a deceased one,
without a court order?Copy !req
258. I've seen lawyers get disbarred for less.Copy !req
259. And I don't know about you, but I worked
really hard for my law degree.Copy !req
260. Nights and everything.Copy !req
261. Reyes...Copy !req
262. she staked all her political chips
on the conviction of this Punisher freak.Copy !req
263. Now, if things'll go her way,Copy !req
264. there'll be an opening
in the District Attorney's officeCopy !req
265. in the not-so-distant future.Copy !req
266. And DA Tower has a nice ring to it.Copy !req
267. Now, I'd start considering
the benefits that could accrueCopy !req
268. if your firm were more...Copy !req
269. cooperative.Copy !req
270. Like I said...Copy !req
271. show me a subpoena,
and I'll cooperate like a son of a bitch.Copy !req
272. Reyes is gonna roll over you like a tank.Copy !req
273. You keep saying that.Copy !req
274. And yet...Copy !req
275. still kinda here.Copy !req
276. I'm gonna have to pay for that.Copy !req
277. I'll stake you.Copy !req
278. So this is the famous Fogwell's.Copy !req
279. Yeah, breathe it in fast.Copy !req
280. If we get arrested for breaking
and entering, the fun kinda stops.Copy !req
281. Shows what you know.Copy !req
282. I haven't been here in a while.Copy !req
283. I bet nothing's moved.Copy !req
284. - Thanks.
- So tell me.Copy !req
285. - How does a blind man box?
- Oh, uh...Copy !req
286. I don't...
I can't.Copy !req
287. My dad, he was the boxer.Copy !req
288. Was?Copy !req
289. Yeah, he died.Copy !req
290. I'm sorry.Copy !req
291. I just come here to...
breathe in the smell of sweat.Copy !req
292. Hear the clank of the chains
holding the bags.Copy !req
293. Remember him.Copy !req
294. You never saw your father fight.Copy !req
295. Oh, I saw him get his ass beat
more times than I can count.Copy !req
296. I wasn't born blind.
That's a...Copy !req
297. whole other story.Copy !req
298. Did he die in the ring?Copy !req
299. Uh...Copy !req
300. No, boxing didn't kill him.Copy !req
301. What did?Copy !req
302. Organized crime.Copy !req
303. Like a mob hit?Copy !req
304. - Was he a criminal?
- No.Copy !req
305. But I guess you could say he rubbed
some people the wrong way.Copy !req
306. Someone in particular?Copy !req
307. Uh, yeah.Copy !req
308. A guy named Roscoe Sweeney.Copy !req
309. I don't know if he pulled the trigger,
but he gave the order.Copy !req
310. Did you ever try to find
that piece of shit?Copy !req
311. Yeah, once. When I was a kid.Copy !req
312. Got nothing.
Learned to live with it.Copy !req
313. He probably went underground.Copy !req
314. Well, six feet, I hope.Copy !req
315. You don't have to feel sorry for me.Copy !req
316. I don't.Copy !req
317. Are you sure?Copy !req
318. Yes.Copy !req
319. I've seen it.Copy !req
320. Here and there,
over the past few weeks.Copy !req
321. You're so much more than you let on.Copy !req
322. Okay.Copy !req
323. I feel like I've told you more
in the last ten minutesCopy !req
324. than I've told anyone else in ten years.Copy !req
325. Ha!Copy !req
326. I knew it.Copy !req
327. You knew what?Copy !req
328. You said you were blind.Copy !req
329. No, you said I was blind.Copy !req
330. So you can see?Copy !req
331. It's complicated.Copy !req
332. What about you?
You said you took ballet lessons.Copy !req
333. I did.Copy !req
334. In the winters,Copy !req
335. when my capoeira master
returned to Angola.Copy !req
336. Muay Thai?Copy !req
337. - Every other Thursday.
- Of course.Copy !req
338. You got me.Copy !req
339. Get me back.Copy !req
340. Get me!Copy !req
341. I win.Copy !req
342. Yeah, first round, maybe.Copy !req
343. We're just getting started.Copy !req
344. Ms. Natchios, good afternoon.Copy !req
345. Good afternoon.
You can sit.Copy !req
346. We hope you know how valuable
your business isCopy !req
347. to the Roxxon Corporation.Copy !req
348. Thank you.Copy !req
349. This is Stan Gibson.
He's the money man for our Japanese arm.Copy !req
350. So, he'll have the answers
you're looking for.Copy !req
351. Whether or not he can put them
in terms you'll understandCopy !req
352. is another matter.Copy !req
353. Let's all prepare to be dazzled, shall we?Copy !req
354. - Excuse me, uh, Mr. Ellison?
- Yeah?Copy !req
355. Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt.
My name is Karen Page.Copy !req
356. - I was a friend of...
- Ben.Copy !req
357. Yeah, I remember.Copy !req
358. Look, I think that
I owe you an apology.Copy !req
359. - At the funeral, I thought that you...
- Forget it.Copy !req
360. Look, Ben...Copy !req
361. Ben was a real pain in my ass.Copy !req
362. So it follows that his friends
would be, too.Copy !req
363. What can I do for you?Copy !req
364. Well, I don't think
you're gonna like my answer.Copy !req
365. I'd like to talk to you
about the Frank Castle article.Copy !req
366. - I know, terrifying.
- Also inaccurate.Copy !req
367. Look...Copy !req
368. that article was corroborated
by multiple sources.Copy !req
369. NYPD, DA's office,
we even had some eyewitnesses.Copy !req
370. Yes, everything that
you reported is correct.Copy !req
371. It's what you haven't reported
that bothers me.Copy !req
372. The article is inaccurate by omission.Copy !req
373. Okay, come here, come here.Copy !req
374. Excuse me, please.Copy !req
375. Go.Copy !req
376. Right, did you know that two years ago,
Lieutenant Frank CastleCopy !req
377. was awarded the Navy Cross
for his service in Afghanistan, right?Copy !req
378. That's second only
to the Medal of Honor.Copy !req
379. This guy is a war hero.Copy !req
380. Military history
is the first thing we searchCopy !req
381. whenever there's a mass shooting.Copy !req
382. So, we know that he was a Marine recruit,
and we know that he went in as a kid,Copy !req
383. but there's no evidence
that he actually served.Copy !req
384. I've seen the medal,Copy !req
385. engraved with Castle's name,Copy !req
386. next to a photograph of him
shaking the secretary's hand.Copy !req
387. Are you suggesting
that his work was classified?Copy !req
388. I don't know, but...
but I would assume.Copy !req
389. Don't assume. Where'd you see it?Copy !req
390. Uh, not important.Copy !req
391. Pretty important.Copy !req
392. Look, your article also states
that he had no known relatives,Copy !req
393. but every paper in New York says that.Copy !req
394. Well, that was in the press briefing
issued by the DA's office.Copy !req
395. He had a family.Copy !req
396. He had a wife, Maria Elizabeth,
a daughter, Lisa Barbara,Copy !req
397. and a son, Frank Junior.Copy !req
398. - Had?
- All dead.Copy !req
399. Killed around the same time
that Castle was hospitalizedCopy !req
400. for a gunshot wound to the head.Copy !req
401. What, so...Copy !req
402. What, you're saying that he murdered
his family and then shot himself?Copy !req
403. Some sort of PTSD murder-suicide attempt?Copy !req
404. No, see, if that's what had happened,Copy !req
405. the DA would have put it in her brief,Copy !req
406. in flashing neon if she could,Copy !req
407. because that supports her story
that he's a psychopath.Copy !req
408. So, what do you think really happened?Copy !req
409. That's what I don't know yet.Copy !req
410. But if I could dig through your files
or I could check into your back issues,Copy !req
411. maybe I could figure it out.Copy !req
412. And anything that I find,
anything that I can prove...Copy !req
413. The Bulletin gets the exclusive.Copy !req
414. Deal.Copy !req
415. Okay, deal.Copy !req
416. Uh-uh... don't do any somersaults yet.Copy !req
417. All the, uh...Copy !req
418. All the servers were completely
wiped in the incident.Copy !req
419. Decades, just...Copy !req
420. gone.Copy !req
421. So, um, we keep hard copies
of everything now.Copy !req
422. Jeez! Are they in any kind of order?Copy !req
423. Um, you know, roughly.Copy !req
424. I would... I would start, uh, down here.Copy !req
425. - Okay. Uh, thanks.
- Uh-huh.Copy !req
426. - What?
- Oh...Copy !req
427. Uh, nothing, I'm just thinking, uh,
somewhere...Copy !req
428. Ben Urich is looking down,
and just...Copy !req
429. getting a real kick out of all this.Copy !req
430. Have fun.Copy !req
431. I'm sure you all have
places to be, things to do.Copy !req
432. With your wives,
your mistresses...Copy !req
433. But I have questions.Copy !req
434. And this subsidiary,
what is it exactly?Copy !req
435. - A medical company.
- And they do?Copy !req
436. - Studies.
- How specific.Copy !req
437. Research for pain relievers,
treatments for diseases.Copy !req
438. The names of which
I mostly can't pronounce.Copy !req
439. How do you determine
your acquisitions?Copy !req
440. Well...Copy !req
441. Excuse me.Copy !req
442. There's an issue with our server.Copy !req
443. Someone has
hacked into the server.Copy !req
444. Possibly internal, we don't know yet,
security is looking into it.Copy !req
445. If it's an external threat,
I'm sure they can trace the IP addressCopy !req
446. and deal with the "problem" face-to-face.Copy !req
447. But I'm more concerned
about what informationCopy !req
448. they can pull from Roxxon's system
when it is offline.Copy !req
449. I'm terribly sorry,
something has come up.Copy !req
450. Could we reconvene at another time?Copy !req
451. Absolutely.Copy !req
452. Thank you.Copy !req
453. I'll have someone
escort you downstairs.Copy !req
454. Thank you.Copy !req
455. In this city, a girl needs
all the help she can get.Copy !req
456. Why is it gray?Copy !req
457. One of life's mysteries.Copy !req
458. They were out of olives.Copy !req
459. So?Copy !req
460. So...Copy !req
461. What?Copy !req
462. It was a hard day.Copy !req
463. I thought we could catch up,
you know, have a drink.Copy !req
464. Just...Copy !req
465. be like we were.Copy !req
466. Normal.Copy !req
467. I haven't heard from you in months.Copy !req
468. Well, that's...Copy !req
469. not all that abnormal, right?Copy !req
470. Yeah, I guess you're right.Copy !req
471. Let's get trashed and tell each other
our sob stories. You first.Copy !req
472. Matt's dating our office assistant.Copy !req
473. The cute one?
Blonde, totally your type?Copy !req
474. - Yeah.
- Mmm.Copy !req
475. The correct answer is,Copy !req
476. "No one is as perfect for me
as you, Marci."Copy !req
477. Gets worse.Copy !req
478. We lost two clients in the last hour.Copy !req
479. Oh, it's kinda like when I lost the job
at Landman and Zack.Copy !req
480. - Thank God HC and B was hiring.
- No, I'm serious.Copy !req
481. It's the DA.Copy !req
482. I called her bluff on a case
she's building against the PunisherCopy !req
483. and she doubled down.Copy !req
484. She's coming after us.Copy !req
485. I see.Copy !req
486. You didn't call me for a social drink.Copy !req
487. You called me for help.Copy !req
488. That feels more normal.Copy !req
489. Fine.Copy !req
490. Rumors among my new partners?Copy !req
491. Reyes has her sights
on the mayor's office.Copy !req
492. This is my shocked face.Copy !req
493. And she aims to do so by...Copy !req
494. building a platform
on Frank Castle's conviction.Copy !req
495. She gets him...Copy !req
496. she sets precedent against
these other vigilantes popping up.Copy !req
497. One in our office is already
under serious scrutiny,Copy !req
498. lady by the name of Jessica Jones.Copy !req
499. Oh, and you know who I bet is next?Copy !req
500. The horny one.Copy !req
501. It's... Daredevil.Copy !req
502. You think it'll work?Copy !req
503. She's gonna turn city-wide disaster
into damn fine lemonade.Copy !req
504. It's her big power play.Copy !req
505. It's gonna work.Copy !req
506. - Hey.
- Hey.Copy !req
507. It's been... whoa, three hours.Copy !req
508. Oh, God.Copy !req
509. And I'm almost late for dinner.Copy !req
510. - Thanks.
- Any luck?Copy !req
511. Well, these are all the papers
from the week that Castle was shot.Copy !req
512. I've been through each one
of them three times,Copy !req
513. and there's not a single mention
of Castle, his family...Copy !req
514. Not even a John Doe that matches.Copy !req
515. Just nothing.Copy !req
516. Well, you know,
people are shot every day.Copy !req
517. It doesn't always make the paper.Copy !req
518. Cleavered Cleavers.Copy !req
519. What's that?Copy !req
520. Ah, just an old newspaper adage, right?Copy !req
521. If horror befalls a family
you can paint as all-American,Copy !req
522. it makes the front page.Copy !req
523. So, if the Castles are not in this paper,Copy !req
524. it's because somebody
wants to keep it quiet.Copy !req
525. Well, shit.Copy !req
526. April 14th.Copy !req
527. When was the Castle family murdered?Copy !req
528. Well, I figure it's gotta be
sometime that week, right?Copy !req
529. You know, I cannot remember my...
my kids' birthdays, but...Copy !req
530. violent, soul-sucking events
are just seared into my brain.Copy !req
531. Figures, right?Copy !req
532. Ah, yes, yes.Copy !req
533. Okay, gang-on-gang violence.Copy !req
534. No civilians were reported injured,
so nobody cared.Copy !req
535. It took me a week
to get this in the paper.Copy !req
536. Here.Copy !req
537. Three gangs, Central Park, mid-day.Copy !req
538. They shot each other to shit.
It was a total massacre.Copy !req
539. Mexican Cartel, Dogs of Hell...Copy !req
540. - Kitchen Irish.
- ... Kitchen Irish.Copy !req
541. - Those were all the three...
- That the Punisher gunned down.Copy !req
542. - There's gotta be a connection, right?
- Mmm-hmm. Right.Copy !req
543. - Oh, my God.
- What?Copy !req
544. Oh, my God.Copy !req
545. This is it.Copy !req
546. This is where his family was killed.Copy !req
547. Shit, what do I do now?Copy !req
548. Confirm it.Copy !req
549. - Can I borrow this?
- Yeah, sure.Copy !req
550. Just a little reminder...Copy !req
551. Bulletin gets the exclusive, right?Copy !req
552. - You got it, boss.
- Wait, you're going now?Copy !req
553. Really?Copy !req
554. Do you drink wine?Copy !req
555. I should know that.Copy !req
556. I don't drink anything
they don't serve at Josie's.Copy !req
557. Yeah, well,
I don't see swill on the menu.Copy !req
558. - So how was...
- So what did...Copy !req
559. - I'm sorry...
- I was just gonna...Copy !req
560. Uh, you go ahead.
Go, go first.Copy !req
561. How was your day?Copy !req
562. Fine.Copy !req
563. Uh, yeah,
just a regular day at the office.Copy !req
564. Well, it's a nice change of pace, right?Copy !req
565. Not being shot at?Copy !req
566. - That's gotta feel good.
- Yeah.Copy !req
567. You, how's the, uh, new client?Copy !req
568. Uh, yeah, um...Copy !req
569. Nothing I haven't seen before.Copy !req
570. I seriously doubt it's gonna pan out,
but that's...Copy !req
571. That's fine.Copy !req
572. Okay, good.Copy !req
573. Well, that covers work.Copy !req
574. Uh, well, it's a start.Copy !req
575. - Um, I'll be back in just a minute, um...
- Yeah.Copy !req
576. - Order something fantastic.
- Sure.Copy !req
577. - Sir?
- Look.Copy !req
578. If I had to seem like I knew everything
there is to know about winesCopy !req
579. in the next 60 seconds, what would I...
what would I order?Copy !req
580. - Matthew Murdock?
- Yeah.Copy !req
581. You have a call.Copy !req
582. Oh, thanks.Copy !req
583. This is Murdock.Copy !req
584. Sorry to bother you
while you're out,Copy !req
585. but you have a few moments
before she returns, right?Copy !req
586. What do you want from me?Copy !req
587. You should ask yourself
the same question.Copy !req
588. That rooftop act was cute.Copy !req
589. Yeah, nothing compared
to your damsel-in-distress one.Copy !req
590. Oh, you're right.
I didn't actually need you.Copy !req
591. I told you,
maybe I just missed you.Copy !req
592. But don't worry,
you can keep the money.Copy !req
593. Aw...Copy !req
594. Go to hell.Copy !req
595. If you really want to be done,
consider this me firing you.Copy !req
596. Any time you want to drive...Copy !req
597. I think it's illegal, driving under
the influence of blindness.Copy !req
598. You're the future lawyer.Copy !req
599. Yeah, I should start
going to class again, then.Copy !req
600. - Hey, where are we?
- A house.Copy !req
601. Yeah. Is it yours?Copy !req
602. Oh, God, no.
I'd die in the suburbs.Copy !req
603. No, this charming little chateauCopy !req
604. belongs to one of my father's
many work associates,Copy !req
605. who's currently off to Monte Carlo,
where prostitution is legal.Copy !req
606. So...Copy !req
607. you have the keys, right?Copy !req
608. Welcome home, darling.
Dinner's almost ready.Copy !req
609. - Tiny kitchen.
- Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
610. Okay, so we have, uh...Copy !req
611. truffles, saucissons, cornichons...Copy !req
612. - Baby pickles.
- No.Copy !req
613. - Ugh!
- Okay, got it.Copy !req
614. No cornichons.Copy !req
615. So...Copy !req
616. - when you graduate...
- Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
617. - ... and we get married...
- Wow.Copy !req
618. and we buy a house...
I mean, houses, sorry.Copy !req
619. Santorini, San Sebastian...Copy !req
620. Paris, for when we're
feeling cosmopolitan.Copy !req
621. This...Copy !req
622. is how we'll live.Copy !req
623. And what about the kids?Copy !req
624. What are we gonna do with them?Copy !req
625. Oh, you know, sweet little Ellie, and...Copy !req
626. her simpleton brother, Matty Junior...Copy !req
627. can cook and cleanCopy !req
628. and stock the fridge for us,
so we can use...Copy !req
629. our time doing better things.Copy !req
630. Like sex?Copy !req
631. Exactly like sex.Copy !req
632. Who's thirsty?Copy !req
633. - Hey.
- Mmm?Copy !req
634. - Is it good?
- What?Copy !req
635. This.Copy !req
636. All of this, this, uh...Copy !req
637. life.Copy !req
638. It's fantastic.Copy !req
639. But I would trade it all in
for a lifetime of smelling your skin.Copy !req
640. Cheers.Copy !req
641. - Sounded expensive.
- I'm guessing.Copy !req
642. I don't care.Copy !req
643. Get me?Copy !req
644. I do, I get you.Copy !req
645. When are you going to learn?Copy !req
646. Get me.Copy !req
647. I have learned.Copy !req
648. You know me.Copy !req
649. Like no one else ever has.
And I know you.Copy !req
650. We belong together.Copy !req
651. Someone's here.Copy !req
652. Daddy's friend
probably ran out of Viagra...Copy !req
653. Shh...Copy !req
654. They're footsteps. Moving fast.
Let me go check.Copy !req
655. No, no, no, no, no.
You stay here.Copy !req
656. If I explain everything,
he won't be mad.Copy !req
657. I promise.Copy !req
658. Matthew, you remember
Roscoe Sweeney,Copy !req
659. the son of a bitch who killed your father?Copy !req
660. Hey.Copy !req
661. - Hey.
- Everything okay?Copy !req
662. - Yeah, they ran out of wine.
- No.Copy !req
663. Wait, seriously?Copy !req
664. Matt...Copy !req
665. I don't...
I don't like this place, you know?Copy !req
666. Is it the place? Or is it...Copy !req
667. It's definitely not you.Copy !req
668. - You're sure?
- Yeah.Copy !req
669. I'm positive.Copy !req
670. Come on.
I know where we can go.Copy !req
671. - Thank you.
- Wow, this smells amazing.Copy !req
672. - What is it?
- Um...Copy !req
673. Who cares?
They have wine.Copy !req
674. Right.Copy !req
675. That's...Copy !req
676. You know, I've always felt
more comfortable with the cheap stuff.Copy !req
677. - You know?
- Yeah?Copy !req
678. Well, here, I'll drink to that.Copy !req
679. Cheap stuff.Copy !req
680. Cheap stuff.Copy !req
681. You know, I never even had
Indian food until a few months ago.Copy !req
682. How is that possible?Copy !req
683. Well, my hometown in Vermont
had about 400 people,Copy !req
684. so the most ethnic food it offered
was French fries.Copy !req
685. So that's why you, uh, came to New York?
For the... for the food?Copy !req
686. Uh, no.Copy !req
687. Although, if I knew
places like this existed,Copy !req
688. I'd have left Vermont ages ago.Copy !req
689. - You see, that's why I love this city.
- Hmm?Copy !req
690. I've lived here my whole life, and...Copy !req
691. the place never stops
unfolding new secrets.Copy !req
692. Hmm.Copy !req
693. Yeah, you know...Copy !req
694. despite the crime,Copy !req
695. and the darkness,Copy !req
696. every once in a while,
New York makes me feel...Copy !req
697. Like, safe?Copy !req
698. - Yes, is that weird?
- Well...Copy !req
699. - Huh.
- I get it.Copy !req
700. I wish you could see this place.Copy !req
701. I can, if you describe it to me.Copy !req
702. So, anyways, my favorite part...Copy !req
703. is the ceiling.Copy !req
704. So, it's literally dripping
with thousands of lights.Copy !req
705. They're shaped like chili peppers...Copy !req
706. which sounds really tacky, I know,
but it's, um, it's not.Copy !req
707. Just...Copy !req
708. It's magic.Copy !req
709. This is me.Copy !req
710. Are you sure you don't...Copy !req
711. live two more blocks?Copy !req
712. - Maybe three?
- I wish.Copy !req
713. We could sit.Copy !req
714. Yeah.Copy !req
715. All right, I'm gonna kiss ya.Copy !req
716. You could come up...Copy !req
717. if you like.Copy !req
718. I would love to.Copy !req
719. But you won't.Copy !req
720. Not tonight.Copy !req
721. - It's okay.
- Can I...Copy !req
722. Can I tell you why?Copy !req
723. Because I have this...Copy !req
724. incredible ability to bring...Copy !req
725. disaster to the best things in my life
and tonight has been perfect.Copy !req
726. Don't you think?Copy !req
727. Yes.Copy !req
728. And if I stop now, then I get to keep
this one perfect night.Copy !req
729. And also have the chance
of keeping it going tomorrow.Copy !req
730. And the day after...Copy !req
731. And the day after that...Copy !req
732. And the...Copy !req
733. Exactly.Copy !req
734. Then I guess it's good night...Copy !req
735. Mr. Murdock.Copy !req
736. Good night, Ms. Page.Copy !req
737. Fix me up, man?
Fix me up.Copy !req
738. I know who you are, man!
I know who you are!Copy !req
739. How much you got, man?
How much you got?Copy !req
740. Oh, Jesus Christ.Copy !req
741. When I get out of this...Copy !req
742. Oh, I'll remember your faces.Copy !req
743. Every single bit of them...Copy !req
744. - I will hunt you!
- Aw...Copy !req
745. When you get out?Copy !req
746. Where did you find him?Copy !req
747. Monte Carlo.
I wasn't lying.Copy !req
748. He's been going by an alias for years now.Copy !req
749. Al Marino.Copy !req
750. An ugly name for an ugly man.Copy !req
751. Oh, you're dead.Copy !req
752. Both of ya!Copy !req
753. Couple of kids playing house!Copy !req
754. Hey!Copy !req
755. Watch your tongue.Copy !req
756. While it's still attached.Copy !req
757. He tried to hide.
Went underground.Copy !req
758. But the scum always rises.Copy !req
759. Al just couldn't stay anonymous.Copy !req
760. He had to spend his blood money.Copy !req
761. Make a splash.Copy !req
762. Be the big man.Copy !req
763. You made it easy for me.Copy !req
764. Eat shit.Copy !req
765. Want me to hit you again?Copy !req
766. Well, I won't.Copy !req
767. But he will.Copy !req
768. I don't know him from Christ,
but one look and I can tell.Copy !req
769. Pretty boy ain't got it in him.Copy !req
770. You don't remember me?Copy !req
771. You killed my father.Copy !req
772. Well, I hate to break it to you, son...Copy !req
773. but I killed a lot of guys' dads.Copy !req
774. Then let me help you.Copy !req
775. He hit hard.Copy !req
776. Like this.Copy !req
777. You call that hard?Copy !req
778. Let it out.Copy !req
779. Let it out.Copy !req
780. Okay? Whatever's inside you.Copy !req
781. Do it for your father, Matthew.Copy !req
782. Do it for us.Copy !req
783. Come on.Copy !req
784. "Matthew"?Copy !req
785. You're Battlin' Jack's boy!Copy !req
786. Oh, you amateur.Copy !req
787. Now I know your name.Copy !req
788. Nothing'll stop me from bloodying
the street with your corpse.Copy !req
789. Just like I did to your old man!Copy !req
790. Yes.Copy !req
791. End it.Copy !req
792. End it now.Copy !req
793. - What?
- Keep going.Copy !req
794. No, that's, uh...Copy !req
795. - No, that's all I got.
- No...Copy !req
796. He knows your name.Copy !req
797. Cut his throat.Copy !req
798. Kill him.Copy !req
799. What?Copy !req
800. Kill him.Copy !req
801. I can't do that.Copy !req
802. We can do anything together.Copy !req
803. Remember?Copy !req
804. No, I can't.Copy !req
805. I thought you understood me.Copy !req
806. Yeah, I thought I did, too.Copy !req
807. We need to call the police.Copy !req
808. - 911, what is your emergency?
- Um...Copy !req
809. Yes, I'd like to report
the location of a wanted felon.Copy !req
810. The name is Roscoe Sweeney.Copy !req
811. What is the address?Copy !req
812. See? You missed me, too.Copy !req
813. Did you have a nice dinner?Copy !req
814. Elektra, I came here
to ask you a question,Copy !req
815. and I'd like for you to answer it.Copy !req
816. Why did you take me to that mansion?Copy !req
817. That's your question?Copy !req
818. For fun.Copy !req
819. For fun?Copy !req
820. That's fun for you?Copy !req
821. To try to push me into killing a man?Copy !req
822. Oh...Copy !req
823. I didn't push you into anything.Copy !req
824. And you didn't kill anyone.Copy !req
825. - But you wanted to.
- No, I didn't.Copy !req
826. Don't do that, don't...
Not now, don't...Copy !req
827. You act like you have some
window into my soul,Copy !req
828. but you don't,
and you never have.Copy !req
829. There was always this glorious
darkness inside you.Copy !req
830. No.Copy !req
831. That's why I took you to Roscoe Sweeney's.Copy !req
832. And, yes.Copy !req
833. That's why I loved you.Copy !req
834. That's why you loved me, too.Copy !req
835. Don't deny what we have.Copy !req
836. Please.Copy !req
837. You think that's what love is?Copy !req
838. Someone... someone's coming.Copy !req
839. Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
840. The elevator's moving...Copy !req
841. There's...Copy !req
842. There's a silencer in the lobby.Copy !req
843. Who is it, Elektra?Copy !req
844. If I had to guess, Yakuza.Copy !req
845. No.Copy !req
846. No, that's impossible.
I took care of the Yakuza.Copy !req
847. Clearly, you didn't.
Hold my gloves?Copy !req
848. Today, at the Yakatomi Building,
I infiltrated Asano,Copy !req
849. the Japanese branch of Roxxon,Copy !req
850. and I planted a little bug
to crash their system.Copy !req
851. Yeah, I heard it.Copy !req
852. You knew they'd come for you?Copy !req
853. Well, I knew they'd come here.Copy !req
854. This building isn't in my name.
I'm no amateur.Copy !req
855. Hold on a second,
did you know I'd come?Copy !req
856. My confidence was high.Copy !req
857. You planned this.Copy !req
858. Everything you said in the apartment,
