1. May your neighbors respect you...Copy !req
2. trouble neglect you...Copy !req
3. the angels protect you...Copy !req
4. and heaven accept you. Mmm?Copy !req
5. To better days.Copy !req
6. - Cheers.
- Cheers.Copy !req
7. - Hey! Hey, hey, hey.
- Hey, who is that guy?Copy !req
8. - Easy, lads.
- Whoa, whoa, whoa.Copy !req
9. Finn.Copy !req
10. Caught the first flight soon as I heard.Copy !req
11. Yeah...Copy !req
12. Terrible circumstances.Copy !req
13. But it sure is good to see you.Copy !req
14. Be a good lad.Copy !req
15. Go fetch our friend Finn a drink.Copy !req
16. It's Rory...Copy !req
17. isn't it?Copy !req
18. This is him, then?Copy !req
19. I didn't want him
to follow my footsteps...Copy !req
20. but he insisted.Copy !req
21. He came over to make his fortune
and now, look.Copy !req
22. Two cents to his name.Copy !req
23. He was a good kid, Finn.Copy !req
24. And now he's dead.Copy !req
25. You know, maybe you've been
out of the game too long to remember.Copy !req
26. Death... is part of the deal.Copy !req
27. Leave it, leave it.Copy !req
28. Holy shit.Copy !req
29. Jesus...Copy !req
30. Cheers.Copy !req
31. Yous all all right, yeah?Copy !req
32. - Oh, yeah.
- Yeah?Copy !req
33. Yeah.Copy !req
34. Now, this bloody shooter,Copy !req
35. he stole $1.2 million of my money.Copy !req
36. Man takes my son.
I lose a boy.Copy !req
37. He takes my money.Copy !req
38. I'm getting it back.Copy !req
39. We will beat every mother's son
in this cityCopy !req
40. till I have my money in my hands,Copy !req
41. and this shooter's on his knees, alive.Copy !req
42. Or there'll be more of you
shining the inside of a box!Copy !req
43. Do you hear me?Copy !req
44. Get out!Copy !req
45. Get out! Move! Let's go!Copy !req
46. That bastard shooter
that massacred our brothers.Copy !req
47. - Where is he?
- I don't know!Copy !req
48. New faces.Copy !req
49. Military training.Copy !req
50. - Think fast!
- I don't know! Wait, wait!Copy !req
51. Wait! I might have seen one guy!Copy !req
52. Hey, excuse me! Yeah, you.
How's it going, huh?Copy !req
53. - Oh, Jesus.
- You having a good day?Copy !req
54. We're looking for a customer.Copy !req
55. - What?
- Wears a jacket...Copy !req
56. even in the middle of summer,
or so they say.Copy !req
57. I... I mean...Copy !req
58. Now, I count two ankles,
two knees, one elbow.Copy !req
59. And guess what?
I got five more rounds.Copy !req
60. I don't...Copy !req
61. I think I know.
Has a dog, right?Copy !req
62. Came in here.
I even saw him walk it once.Copy !req
63. Elaborate.Copy !req
64. Aw.Copy !req
65. Sit.Copy !req
66. Search the closets.Copy !req
67. Dog's one of ours.
This is the place.Copy !req
68. - Nah, it's empty.
- Find my goddamn money.Copy !req
69. You heard him.
Let's go!Copy !req
70. He's not one for fancy living, is he?Copy !req
71. Pull that up.Copy !req
72. Shut that damn dog up!Copy !req
73. Hey! Knock it off!Copy !req
74. Uh, nothing...
but it ain't money.Copy !req
75. The money's not here.Copy !req
76. That's who you are.Copy !req
77. Move it.Copy !req
78. - Hi.
- Hey.Copy !req
79. - I'm just about ready.
- Okay.Copy !req
80. - Uh, here, let me help with that.
- Oh, thanks.Copy !req
81. - It's okay.
- Oh.Copy !req
82. Sorry.Copy !req
83. - You okay?
- Yeah.Copy !req
84. I'm just, uh...Copy !req
85. recovering.Copy !req
86. From what?Copy !req
87. I don't really know the name for it.Copy !req
88. But... you're feeling better?Copy !req
89. Yeah.Copy !req
90. Now.Copy !req
91. With you.Copy !req
92. Not that I can verify,
but you seem good at this.Copy !req
93. Uh, well, my brother wasn't,
so that's where I came in.Copy !req
94. You never said you had a brother.Copy !req
95. Uh... you never asked.Copy !req
96. - Uh, thank you.
- Mmm.Copy !req
97. Come on. It's about time.Copy !req
98. "Precious in the eyes
of the Lord...Copy !req
99. is the death of his saints."Copy !req
100. Well...Copy !req
101. Elliot Grote was no saint.Copy !req
102. He was human...Copy !req
103. deeply flawed.Copy !req
104. Every Sunday,
for as far as I remember...Copy !req
105. Elliot would come here...Copy !req
106. friendless and alone...Copy !req
107. to sit.Copy !req
108. Right there in that pew.Copy !req
109. Often, I would see him take...Copy !req
110. whatever money he had...Copy !req
111. crumpled one hundreds, loose change...Copy !req
112. a Rolex watch one time...Copy !req
113. and put it in the collection plate...Copy !req
114. hoping for redemption.Copy !req
115. Which would never come.Copy !req
116. Praying for the light...Copy !req
117. but Elliot died still in the dark...Copy !req
118. with no one to mourn his loss...Copy !req
119. except the three of you.Copy !req
120. And so, we might say...Copy !req
121. one life gone...Copy !req
122. one sinful life...Copy !req
123. but one person is not just one person.Copy !req
124. In each of us,
there is a world...Copy !req
125. webbing out, reaching others.Copy !req
126. Creating reactions.Copy !req
127. Sometimes equal...Copy !req
128. sometimes opposite.Copy !req
129. We rush to say, one life gone...Copy !req
130. but each of us is a world.Copy !req
131. And today,Copy !req
132. a world has been lost.Copy !req
133. We didn't know him well, but I...Copy !req
134. never loved the idea of letting
anyone die alone.Copy !req
135. He... He wasn't alone?Copy !req
136. They found him surrounded by
knocked out Dogs of Hell, right?Copy !req
137. I get all the bad guys
confused these days.Copy !req
138. Didn't think it could get much worse
out there, the violence, but...Copy !req
139. What if I meet you back at the office?
I'm just gonna take a minute here.Copy !req
140. Yeah, sure.Copy !req
141. - It was a nice sermon.
- Thank you.Copy !req
142. Most priests would have found something
kind to say about the man himself, but...Copy !req
143. I said he came to church.Copy !req
144. Nothing shines up a halo
faster than a death, Matthew.Copy !req
145. But funerals are for the living...Copy !req
146. and revising history...Copy !req
147. only dilutes the lessons
we should learn from it.Copy !req
148. It wasn't my fault.Copy !req
149. - What wasn't?
- Grotto's death.Copy !req
150. - No one said it was.
- Yeah.Copy !req
151. There's a new man in town, he's, uh...Copy !req
152. killing people in cold blood.Copy !req
153. Yeah, I read about
what happened with the Irish.Copy !req
154. Must have been a...
busy couple nights.Copy !req
155. Yeah, I did everything I could to...Copy !req
156. uh, protect my client.Copy !req
157. - That work is done, Matthew.
- Because I failed.Copy !req
158. At least you tried.Copy !req
159. Well, like you said,
his life had value.Copy !req
160. A whole world's been lost
and others are dying one after the other...Copy !req
161. Matthew, what are you looking for?Copy !req
162. - Forgiveness.
- For what?Copy !req
163. Uh... not doing more?Copy !req
164. You just said
you did everything you could.Copy !req
165. If you're the man I understand you to be,
I'm sure that's true.Copy !req
166. Then why do I still feel guilty?Copy !req
167. Guilt can be a good thing.Copy !req
168. It's the soul's call to action.Copy !req
169. The indication that...Copy !req
170. something is wrong.Copy !req
171. The only way...Copy !req
172. to rid your heart of it...Copy !req
173. is to correct your mistakes
and keep going...Copy !req
174. until amends are made.Copy !req
175. I don't know what you didn't do
or what you should have done...Copy !req
176. but the guilt...Copy !req
177. the guilt...Copy !req
178. means your work is not yet finished.Copy !req
179. Thank you.Copy !req
180. He's lucky to be alive.Copy !req
181. This is all of the stuff
that the DA's collecting for her case.Copy !req
182. And most of it's about
the Punisher's victims.Copy !req
183. The Dogs of Hell, the cartel...Copy !req
184. But this was in the middle of it.Copy !req
185. Not someone he shot, him.Copy !req
186. He's insane.
Maybe he shot himself.Copy !req
187. I thought about that,
but at that close of a range...Copy !req
188. Yeah, he'd be dead already.Copy !req
189. Okay, not to go all tin-foil hat here,Copy !req
190. but Tower obviously
slipped this to me for a reason.Copy !req
191. What if the Punisher
isn't the worst of it?Copy !req
192. What if Reyes is trying
to cover something up?Copy !req
193. You think that murderous
psychopath isn't the worst of it?Copy !req
194. No. And I think our best shot
at protecting Nelson and MurdockCopy !req
195. is to find him.Copy !req
196. It's our best shot
at career suicide...Copy !req
197. or just getting shot.Copy !req
198. - Am I insane?
- Nelson and Murdock.Copy !req
199. - Matt?
- Sorry, what?Copy !req
200. Nothing, just...Copy !req
201. Father Lantom's eulogy
really got to me, I guess.Copy !req
202. Yeah, he does that.Copy !req
203. Mmm, Punisher's a lunatic.Copy !req
204. But you care, anyway?Copy !req
205. I wouldn't say that, it's more like...Copy !req
206. curious.Copy !req
207. In between these files and...
and Reyes' obsessionCopy !req
208. and the fact that humans are a pretty
complicated species to begin with,Copy !req
209. I just...Copy !req
210. I feel like there's gotta be
more to the story.Copy !req
211. I think you are...Copy !req
212. Oh, my God, you think I'm insane.Copy !req
213. I'm kidding.Copy !req
214. Compassionate.Copy !req
215. - Hmm.
- It's a good quality, Karen.Copy !req
216. Stuff of saints.Copy !req
217. Yeah, well, I'm no saint.Copy !req
218. I can't tell you
how glad I am to hear that.Copy !req
219. Matt!Copy !req
220. We have real, live,
non-criminal clients who need our help.Copy !req
221. - Excuse me for a second.
- Yeah.Copy !req
222. Tell me.Copy !req
223. Mr. DiPesta defaced the elevator
in his building.Copy !req
224. Which, technically,
makes him a criminal.Copy !req
225. That's what his slumlord, excuse me,
landlord says, but look.Copy !req
226. He's got no AC, no hot water.Copy !req
227. This has Nelson and Murdock
written all over it.Copy !req
228. But we gotta file today.Copy !req
229. Karen!Copy !req
230. - Maybe she stepped out.
- Did she take the files?Copy !req
231. - Huh?
- From Reyes.Copy !req
232. The... the Punisher files.Copy !req
233. Oh, shit.Copy !req
234. I have to find her.Copy !req
235. Find him first.Copy !req
236. You're early.Copy !req
237. You know
I don't like being rushed.Copy !req
238. - I need the suit, Melvin.
- Yeah, I figured.Copy !req
239. You know, you getting popped in the nogginCopy !req
240. gave me a chance to try some new stuff
and I'm pretty excited about it.Copy !req
241. Fortified, carbon tube helmet.Copy !req
242. I mean, it's pretty damn close
to indestructible.Copy !req
243. - How close?
- I'll leave the testing to you.Copy !req
244. I threw in some reinforced alloy gloves.Copy !req
245. You know, what the hell.
Gotta be careful.Copy !req
246. Some new people
spilling a lot of blood out there.Copy !req
247. Who?Copy !req
248. Don't know.Copy !req
249. But all my old contacts are showing up
again begging me to outfit 'em.Copy !req
250. Did you?Copy !req
251. No, I don't do that anymore.
I turned them all away.Copy !req
252. - Oh, you look better.
- Yeah, I feel better.Copy !req
253. Glad you're on the mend.Copy !req
254. So am I.Copy !req
255. Well, stay safe out there,
will you?Copy !req
256. Thanks, Melvin. You too.Copy !req
257. Oh, I'm not taking any chances.
Check this out.Copy !req
258. Huh?Copy !req
259. Gotta stay strong for Betsy.Copy !req
260. You wanna take a look?
I mean, it's pretty wicked.Copy !req
261. I'm gonna take your word for it.Copy !req
262. Uh, George Buck?Copy !req
263. Hi, the hospital told me
I might find you here.Copy !req
264. Hi, uh... are you one of them?Copy !req
265. Sorry, one of who?Copy !req
266. Please, just leave me alone.Copy !req
267. I'm not gonna
do anything to you.Copy !req
268. If anything, I'd like to help
you get your job back.Copy !req
269. Look, I need to understand why you wereCopy !req
270. fired from Metro-General
in the first place.Copy !req
271. Could I buy you a cup of coffee?Copy !req
272. You were with him when this was taken?Copy !req
273. Yeah. That bullet tore through his head.Copy !req
274. Not many people survive that.Copy !req
275. Well, I'd like to know
what you remember.Copy !req
276. John Doe.Copy !req
277. Guy was a total vegetable.Copy !req
278. I guess that's why they decided
he only needed one nurse.Copy !req
279. Any family or visitors?Copy !req
280. No.Copy !req
281. I mean...Copy !req
282. aside from the suits.Copy !req
283. - Suits?
- Yeah.Copy !req
284. Uh, sometimes men,
sometimes women.Copy !req
285. You can tell 'em 'cause
they all wear the same ear pieces.Copy !req
286. That and the... black suits.Copy !req
287. Kind of like... uh...Copy !req
288. Got any idea who these suits were?Copy !req
289. No.Copy !req
290. Uh, but they had their run of the placeCopy !req
291. and they were the ones
that pushed for the, uh, the DNR.Copy !req
292. - A "do not resuscitate"?
- Yeah.Copy !req
293. They had the paperwork.Copy !req
294. And I was there when the doctor
pulled the plug.Copy !req
295. I... I'm confused.Copy !req
296. You're saying this guy died?Copy !req
297. Yeah, for about a minute.Copy !req
298. It's crazy, but they say
it happens sometimes.Copy !req
299. You know, one minute,
flatline, then boom.Copy !req
300. His heart starts back up again.Copy !req
301. On its own.Copy !req
302. He just didn't wanna die.Copy !req
303. Within ten minutes of being awake...Copy !req
304. he reaches up
and grabs my scrubs,Copy !req
305. yanks me down,
and says, real close...Copy !req
306. "Take me home."Copy !req
307. I shouldn't have done it.Copy !req
308. I shouldn't have done it.
I should've known it'd get me fired.Copy !req
309. His home.Copy !req
310. Do you have an address?Copy !req
311. Nice night.Copy !req
312. I'm not alone.Copy !req
313. You wanna come with us?Copy !req
314. Or you wanna make a mess?Copy !req
315. Don't shoot!Copy !req
316. We want him alive!Copy !req
317. Who, who needs me alive?Copy !req
318. - Drop it! Drop it!
- Drop it!Copy !req
319. Calm down! Everyone, calm down!
No one shoot!Copy !req
320. Well, thanks
for thinning out the herd.Copy !req
321. You're surrounded, son.Copy !req
322. Now be a good lad and drop the iron.Copy !req
323. Come on.Copy !req
324. You seem like a smart one.Copy !req
325. - Tell Carter we're about done here.
- Got it.Copy !req
326. We're finishing up the murder scene
at Stanley's bar. Over.Copy !req
327. Copy.Copy !req
328. I need to know
what happened here.Copy !req
329. I'm not telling you shit.Copy !req
330. You helped us catch Fisk,
that don't make us friends.Copy !req
331. Was this the Punisher?Copy !req
332. Jesus.Copy !req
333. The Irish, okay?Copy !req
334. To find the Punisher.
They put a bounty on his head.Copy !req
335. Now people all over the Kitchen
are getting hurt.Copy !req
336. It's the goddamn Wild West out there.Copy !req
337. Have the Irish found him?Copy !req
338. As long as we keep getting
calls like this, I guess not.Copy !req
339. Hey, stay out of it.
You hear me?Copy !req
340. - I just wanna help, Sergeant.
- No, you can't help.Copy !req
341. You're the problem!
'Cause of you, the uniform means dick.Copy !req
342. Cops are no longer preventing crime,
we're just chasing it.Copy !req
343. Mopping up the mess
that you people leave in your wake.Copy !req
344. We're on the same side,
you and I.Copy !req
345. You're on your own side.Copy !req
346. 2-Adam, shots fired.
65th Street transverse, by the carousel.Copy !req
347. All units to back.Copy !req
348. Fifteen Sergeant responding, Central.Copy !req
349. Who did this?Copy !req
350. People you don't mess with.Copy !req
351. You're bleeding out.
And I got all night.Copy !req
352. Go to hell!Copy !req
353. Who did it?Copy !req
354. The one they call Punisher.Copy !req
355. Where is he?Copy !req
356. It doesn't matter
'cause when we're done with him,Copy !req
357. he's as good as dead.Copy !req
358. That's helpful.Copy !req
359. But it's not what I asked.Copy !req
360. You're quite an artist
with the AK, aren't ya?Copy !req
361. Nesbitt.Copy !req
362. Kelly...Copy !req
363. my oldest boy.Copy !req
364. Every one gone to the angels
because of you.Copy !req
365. You're dying tonight.Copy !req
366. The hole's been dug.Copy !req
367. But I'm giving you one chance
to meet your makerCopy !req
368. with arms and legs attached.Copy !req
369. Generosity's my defining trait.Copy !req
370. You care for a nibble?Copy !req
371. No?Copy !req
372. Ah, suit yourself.Copy !req
373. Helps calm me nerves.Copy !req
374. I look nervous to you?Copy !req
375. Boys.Copy !req
376. Give us a moment.Copy !req
377. I want my money back.Copy !req
378. Your kid's in a box,
but you want your money. Huh?Copy !req
379. The Irish may not have invented revenge,Copy !req
380. but we sure as hell
took some time perfecting it.Copy !req
381. Don't think you're showing me something
I haven't seen before,Copy !req
382. 'cause your killing spreeCopy !req
383. has all the signs
of a man seeking retribution.Copy !req
384. Am I right?Copy !req
385. Okay.Copy !req
386. Okay.Copy !req
387. I'll tell you...Copy !req
388. I'll tell you where your money is.Copy !req
389. Hey, hey, hey, hey.Copy !req
390. I promise you, it'll be over soon.Copy !req
391. In a jiffy.Copy !req
392. Come on, yeah?Copy !req
393. How'd that feel?Copy !req
394. Boys, hold him down!Copy !req
395. Hey...Copy !req
396. Come on! Come on!Copy !req
397. Oh, I was hoping
it would come to this.Copy !req
398. Yeah?Copy !req
399. You gonna do it
or you gonna talk about it?Copy !req
400. I'm here!Copy !req
401. I'll kill every one of you bastards!
Come on, I'll kill you!Copy !req
402. Where would you like it?
Here, huh? Here?Copy !req
403. Not such a big man now, are ya?Copy !req
404. What was that?Copy !req
405. Murph?Copy !req
406. Murph?Copy !req
407. - Take that side.
- All right.Copy !req
408. - Keep eyes on.
- All right.Copy !req
409. All right.Copy !req
410. New plan.Copy !req
411. Bring him in.Copy !req
412. Hey...Copy !req
413. It seems like you've taken
a liking to this mutt.Copy !req
414. Good boy, good boy.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.Copy !req
415. Hey, if I don't get my money...Copy !req
416. everything I've done to you,Copy !req
417. I'm doing double to poor Fido here, huh?Copy !req
418. Huh...Copy !req
419. Good boy, good boy, huh.Copy !req
420. Wait, wait, wait.Copy !req
421. Hey, let him go,
just let him go, you asshole.Copy !req
422. I'll tell you where your money is, okay?
I'll tell you.Copy !req
423. Your money's in a van, okay?
It's in a van.Copy !req
424. It's on 48th and 10th.Copy !req
425. Just let him...Copy !req
426. Just let him go,
you asshole, let him go.Copy !req
427. He's an animal lover.
That's sweet.Copy !req
428. Take him out.Copy !req
429. Come on, let's go.Copy !req
430. Now, if you don't mind...Copy !req
431. I'll keep you alive
until the cash is safe at hand.Copy !req
432. Yeah?Copy !req
433. 48th and 10th.Copy !req
434. Yeah, make it quick.Copy !req
435. And watch your backside.Copy !req
436. Get him.Copy !req
437. Yeah, I think it went well.Copy !req
438. - Yeah, it's the same old story.

452. Now I can ask you face to face.Copy !req
453. Who was there that day?
Who killed my family?Copy !req
454. - Your family?

467. Come on.Copy !req
468. Hey.Copy !req
469. Not bad.Copy !req
470. Thanks.Copy !req
471. I guess I, uh...Copy !req
472. I guess I was wrong.Copy !req
473. About?Copy !req
474. About you being a pussy.Copy !req
475. Don't get all sweet on me now, Frank.Copy !req
476. - Help's on the way.
- Nah.Copy !req

478. I'm past saving.Copy !req
479. At least I'd have company, right?Copy !req
480. I think I might cash out.Copy !req
481. You'd have made a hell of a Marine, Red.Copy !req
482. That rhyme.Copy !req
483. - What's it mean?
- What'd you say?Copy !req
484. - Huh?
- Thing you say.Copy !req
485. Right before you pull the trigger.Copy !req
486. What do you...Copy !req
487. You heard that?Copy !req
488. Yeah, I heard it.Copy !req
489. What the...Copy !req
490. I gotta say, sometimes...Copy !req
491. Sometimes I think
you really just might be the devil.Copy !req
492. Sometimes I think I might be, too.Copy !req
493. It's, uh...Copy !req
494. One batch, two batch.Copy !req
495. Penny and dime, you know.Copy !req
496. It was her favorite book.Copy !req
497. You know, you...Copy !req
498. You gotta cross the ocean... and go fight.Copy !req
499. You see...Copy !req
500. whole time you're thinking
you're gonna be scared, right?Copy !req
501. But then, you're not.Copy !req
502. See, that part of it was
always easy for me.Copy !req
503. Killing.Copy !req
504. Even watching my buddies die,
it just...Copy !req
505. it didn't mean nothing.Copy !req
506. The first time I got scared...Copy !req
507. was on a plane on the way home.Copy !req
508. I kept thinking God was gonna pull the rug
out from under us, you know?Copy !req
509. Shit, that's his kind of funny, you know.Copy !req
510. But the plane landed safe
and we were home.Copy !req
511. Driving through traffic.Copy !req
512. Yeah, you pass fast food
and donut shops and all that...Copy !req
513. that greasy shit.Copy !req
514. It's the shit you fought to protect
and then the car stops.Copy !req
515. We were outside her school.Copy !req
516. I get to her classroom, right?Copy !req
517. She's in there...Copy !req
518. but she's got no idea.Copy !req
519. She's got no idea that Daddy's home.Copy !req
520. I walk in, these kids,
they're not even studying, they're...Copy !req
521. doing some kind of yoga. Yeah.Copy !req
522. You know?Copy !req
523. She's there.Copy !req
524. She's doing her poses, you know.Copy !req
525. She's bending and,
you know, she's moving.Copy !req
526. She looks like a flower.Copy !req
527. Yeah.Copy !req
528. And, you know,
you can't even understand it,Copy !req
529. you know, how does
something like that have...Copy !req
530. How does something that beautiful...Copy !req
531. How does that...Copy !req
532. does that come from me, you know?Copy !req
533. And she looks up and she sees me.Copy !req
534. I see her.Copy !req
535. By God, that's real.Copy !req
536. That's real, Red.Copy !req
537. Boom.Copy !req
538. In an instant,
she's across that classroom floor,Copy !req
539. she's in my arms.Copy !req
540. She's squeezing me so tight,
I swear I was gonna bust a rib, you know?Copy !req
541. We just stayed there like that,
we're holding each other.Copy !req
542. Teacher, she's filming the whole thing
on her phone, you know,Copy !req
543. she's gonna put it on
YouTube or some shit.Copy !req
544. She can't hold the thing steady,
because, you know, she's...Copy !req
545. she's bawling so hard,
and the kids are all wailing,Copy !req
546. you know, they're screaming.
And me?Copy !req
547. Shit, I'm the worst of all.
I'm a...Copy !req
548. I'm a rubber-face clown,
you know.Copy !req
549. I cried so hard.Copy !req
550. But not my baby.Copy !req
551. Not my girl.Copy !req
552. You know,
she's my girl. She's...Copy !req
553. She's not crying,
she's holding me up.Copy !req
554. My girl,
she's keeping me on my feet.Copy !req
555. She says,
"I knew it, Daddy. I knew it."Copy !req
556. And then we go home.
Wife, the boy.Copy !req
557. Place is the exact same.Copy !req
558. It's like it was just holding its breath
waiting for me to get back, you know?Copy !req
559. Then it hit me.Copy !req
560. All of it, you know.Copy !req
561. The first time I felt how tired I was,
you know, I was just...Copy !req
562. tired, you know?Copy !req
563. You...Copy !req
564. You ever been tired, Red?Copy !req
565. Yeah.Copy !req
566. So, you know.Copy !req
567. It's just, I couldn't do nothing,
you know?Copy !req
568. All the things...Copy !req
569. I couldn't take my wife to bed.Copy !req
570. Ball with the boy. Shit...Copy !req
571. I was too tired, I couldn't even drink
a goddamn beer, you know.Copy !req
572. But not her.Copy !req
573. My girl was up.Copy !req
574. See, she wanted me to, uh...Copy !req
575. she wanted me to tuck her in.
She...Copy !req
576. She outgrew it, she knew it,
but she didn't care.Copy !req
577. She wanted it.Copy !req
578. She had that book.Copy !req
579. Her favorite book was out on the pillows.Copy !req
580. One Batch, Two Batch...
Penny and Dime.Copy !req
581. Yeah.Copy !req
582. I read her that book every night
before this shit.Copy !req
583. I read it every single night,
but, see, that was over nowCopy !req
584. because Daddy's home now.Copy !req
585. She looked at me and she begged me, Red.Copy !req
586. She begged.Copy !req
587. She begged.Copy !req
588. I said, "No.Copy !req
589. Daddy's too tired, see.Copy !req
590. But I'll...Copy !req
591. I'll read to you tomorrow night.Copy !req
592. I'll read to you
tomorrow night, I promise." Yeah.Copy !req
593. Never think that...Copy !req
594. for her there was not gonna be
any tomorrow, see.Copy !req
595. The last time I'd see her,Copy !req
596. I'd be holding her lifeless body
in my arms.Copy !req
597. Meat was spilling out of her, Red.Copy !req
598. The place where her face used to be.Copy !req
599. Yeah.Copy !req
600. I think I'm done... Red.Copy !req
