1. Last season, on Love, Victor...Copy !req
2. This is it, Salazars.
Our beautiful new home.Copy !req
3. Dear Simon,Copy !req
4. you don't know me, but today
was my first day at Creekwood High.Copy !req
5. I thought I'd finally get the chance
to be myself.Copy !req
6. To figure out who I really am.Copy !req
7. - Today, you paint the brush strokes
that define who you want to be.Copy !req
8. - Hey, new kid.
- Easy, Lake.Copy !req
9. - Is there a girl back home, or...?Copy !req
10. But my first day
didn't go exactly as planned.Copy !req
11. - Nope. No girl back in Texas.Copy !req
12. - Got it.
- You just made Mia Brooks blush.Copy !req
13. I ended up
connecting with this girl Mia,Copy !req
14. and she's great.
Sexuality's a spectrum. Right?Copy !req
15. You think you can put in
a good word with Lake?Copy !req
16. I kind of have a thing for her.Copy !req
17. You deserve a guy
who would sacrifice everything.Copy !req
18. While my friend Felix
started a romance of his own...Copy !req
19. You're my sexy little secret.
- A forbidden romance.Copy !req
20. How come we never talked about
what happened between us?Copy !req
21. - 'Cause there's nothing to talk about.
It was a mistake.Copy !req
22. Things with my family were messy.Copy !req
23. This is why we moved?Copy !req
24. Because you did whatever
the hell you did with Dad's boss?Copy !req
25. Which made it harder
for me to deal with my own stuff.Copy !req
26. - Everything okay?Copy !req
27. - I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Benji.Copy !req
28. I like guys.Copy !req
29. This doesn't change anything between us,Copy !req
30. but telling Mia's gonna suck.Copy !req
31. I just want to give Mia
an amazing night at the dance,Copy !req
32. and then I'll tell her the truth tomorrow.Copy !req
33. - The truth is, Felix Weston
makes me happy.Copy !req
34. I want to be with someone
who makes me feel likeCopy !req
35. I can just be myself.Copy !req
36. That's how you make me feel.Copy !req
37. And then the most
amazing thing happened with Benji.Copy !req
38. But it broke Mia's heart.Copy !req
39. - All this time, was any of it real?Copy !req
40. She found out, didn't she?Copy !req
41. - I've been going through something,
and I want to explain it to you.Copy !req
42. I have something I need
to tell you guys.Copy !req
43. We're separating.Copy !req
44. After what we've been through this year,Copy !req
45. we just needed to take a breather.Copy !req
46. - I'm gonna change.Copy !req
47. - Wait. Victor,
what were you gonna tell us?Copy !req
48. - Nothing.Copy !req
49. No.Copy !req
50. Not nothing.Copy !req
51. Mom... Dad...Copy !req
52. I'm gay.Copy !req
53. - I love you.Copy !req
54. - Um...Copy !req
55. I'm sorry. I, I don't, um...Copy !req
56. But what about Mia?Copy !req
57. - Well, I, I, uh...Copy !req
58. thought that if I could make it work
with any girl, um...Copy !req
59. it'd be Mia.Copy !req
60. But I was wrong.Copy !req
61. - And how do you...Copy !req
62. I mean...Copy !req
63. When did you decide this?Copy !req
64. - I didn't decide it. I just... am it.Copy !req
65. Mom, could you please say something?Copy !req
66. - I think, um,
that we should get some rest.Copy !req
67. And we can talk about it tomorrow.Copy !req
68. - Um...Copy !req
69. - I'm sorry.Copy !req
70. Are you okay?Copy !req
71. - Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. Uh...Copy !req
72. I'm sure they just need some time.Copy !req
73. Hey Simon,
happy last week of summer.Copy !req
74. I'd thought I'd give you
an end of summer update.Copy !req
75. Things are still pretty weird with my mom.Copy !req
76. I mean, she knows I'm gay.Copy !req
77. I even told her that Benji
is my boyfriend...Copy !req
78. Hey. Uh...Copy !req
79. Benji and I are hanging out with
Lake and Felix after work,Copy !req
80. so I, I won't be home till late.Copy !req
81. - Okay. Have fun with your friends.Copy !req
82. But we never actually
talk about any of it.Copy !req
83. Things are a little bit better
with my dad. But still awkward.Copy !req
84. So, I know it's not huge, but, uh, hey,Copy !req
85. the place, it gets great light.Copy !req
86. Huh? I mean, unless it's trash day,Copy !req
87. 'cause then, well,
a dumpster blocks the window.Copy !req
88. He's been all fake cheery
about the separation,Copy !req
89. even though I know
he's totally bummed about it.Copy !req
90. - Oh, you, uh... you headed to work?Copy !req
91. Hey. Tell the Benji-meister I said, "Sup!"Copy !req
92. He's channeling his discomfortCopy !req
93. with me having a boyfriend
into nicknames.Copy !req
94. - Benjamin Button. Right?Copy !req
95. Ben-venido!Copy !req
96. - Yeah. I'll, I'll tell him.Copy !req
97. But it's not all bad.Copy !req
98. Benji is the actual best.Copy !req
99. We aren't Instagram official or anything.Copy !req
100. No one from school even knows
we're a thing except our best friends.Copy !req
101. It's kind of been great that way.Copy !req
102. Like we're in our own
little summer bubble,Copy !req
103. and we have this totally perfect secret.Copy !req
104. And I gotta say, the bubble is hot.Copy !req
105. - Whoops! Yeah, no, don't, don't mind me.Copy !req
106. I'm just, uh, looking for
the caramel syrup.Copy !req
107. Hey, do you guys call it car-mel,
or care-a-mel?Copy !req
108. Hi. Hi. Sorry.Copy !req
109. Uh, yeah, I know you guys are horny,Copy !req
110. but anyone gonna make
my sugar-free iced mocha?Copy !req
111. - On it.
- Yeah, right away.Copy !req
112. As for Mia,Copy !req
113. we haven't actually
talked since the dance.Copy !req
114. She took off the second school endedCopy !req
115. to be a camp counselor
in North Carolina.Copy !req
116. - Caroline! Hey, put your top back on!Copy !req
117. This is not that kind of camp!Copy !req
118. I just really hope
she doesn't hate me forever.Copy !req
119. But the weird thing is,
despite everything,Copy !req
120. this has kind of been
the best summer of my life.Copy !req
121. - What?Copy !req
122. - Nothing.Copy !req
123. - Weirdo.Copy !req
124. Hey, so school starts Monday.Copy !req
125. We should probably talk about
what we're gonna tell everyone.Copy !req
126. - Yeah. I know.Copy !req
127. I want to tell people. I'm ready.Copy !req
128. No more hiding who I am.
Or who I'm into.Copy !req
129. So, last weekend
before school starts.Copy !req
130. What are we thinking?Copy !req
131. There's a ten part docuseriesCopy !req
132. about human trafficking,Copy !req
133. and Atlanta Weekly
said it was grueling...Copy !req
134. but important.Copy !req
135. - Or we could go to Lake Lanier.Copy !req
136. Finally have that bonfire
we've been talking about all summer.Copy !req
137. - Hmm. I pick Victor's thing.Copy !req
138. - Yes.
Great.Copy !req
139. - But, can we do it on Saturday?Copy !req
140. Mia comes home on Sunday,Copy !req
141. and I love you guys,
but Mia's my best friendCopy !req
142. and if she's still mad at you, so am I.Copy !req
143. Hos before homos.Copy !req
144. - Understood. Oh, and also,
can we do after dinner?Copy !req
145. Adrian's going to my dad's,
and Mom's making pollo guisado.Copy !req
146. - Ooh! Love her pollo guisado.Copy !req
147. - It's heaven on rice.Copy !req
148. - Sounds delicious.Copy !req
149. - You still haven't been over to Victor's?Copy !req
150. - Nope. Not since we started dating.Copy !req
151. We always hang out at my house.Copy !req
152. - You know my mom.
You, you guys know how she is.Copy !req
153. - If she's not ready,
she's not ready. It's fine.Copy !req
154. - You know what?
Why don't you all come over for dinner?Copy !req
155. I mean...Copy !req
156. how am I supposed to be out
to all of Creekwood on MondayCopy !req
157. if I can't even have
my boyfriend over for dinner?Copy !req
158. - Ugh.
- That will be $800.Copy !req
159. - You know, I hope you are this good
at business in real life,Copy !req
160. so you can put me in
one of those fancy old folks' homesCopy !req
161. with the make-your-own omelet stations.Copy !req
162. - Mom, you need to dream bigger.
- Nah.Copy !req
163. Hey, honey.Copy !req
164. Did you have fun with your friends?Copy !req
165. - Yeah. Um,Copy !req
166. I invited them over for dinner,
if that's okay.Copy !req
167. - Of course.Copy !req
168. - Cool. Um, Benji's coming, too.Copy !req
169. - Oh.Copy !req
170. Great.Copy !req
171. - Cool.Copy !req
172. I need a little twisty piece...Copy !req
173. Yeah, right there in front of you.
A little twisty...Copy !req
174. No, it's right there—Copy !req
175. What are you talking about?Copy !req
176. It's the little screw.
This. No, this. Look.Copy !req
177. This is a little twisty...Copy !req
178. Well, excuse me. I didn't realize
you had a Master's in building cribs.Copy !req
179. - No?
- No.Copy !req
180. - Hi, guys.Copy !req
181. Surprise!Copy !req
182. Oh!
- I'm home early.Copy !req
183. - Mia. Welcome home!
- What?Copy !req
184. You told me you weren't
coming till tomorrow.Copy !req
185. Yeah, well, we packed up
the bunks a day early.
- Aah...Copy !req
186. So we decided to drive home today.Copy !req
187. All right.
Hi.Copy !req
188. - Welcome back.Copy !req
189. I wish I'd known you were coming.Copy !req
190. We were gonna get your room ready.
- Yeah.Copy !req
191. - It's full of boxes of baby stuff.Copy !req
192. - It's fine. It's fine.
Don't worry about it.Copy !req
193. - So what do you think of Papi Palace?
Huh?Copy !req
194. And, uh, the place gets great light.Copy !req
195. Right? And, uh... oh!Copy !req
196. I was thinking maybe
we could watch Jumanji!Copy !req
197. Got it all queued up.Copy !req
198. - Eh. Heard it's problematic,Copy !req
199. because Jack Black plays a woman.Copy !req
200. Do you have any games?Copy !req
201. - Oh. Um, not really.Copy !req
202. - Can I go home?Copy !req
203. - What? No!Copy !req
204. Hey.Copy !req
205. If you could choose one thingCopy !req
206. to make this apartment more fun,
what would it be?Copy !req
207. - Mmm.Copy !req
208. - Hey! We're here.Copy !req
209. - Hi.Copy !req
210. Hey, Mrs. S.
Ooh, love your top!Copy !req
211. - Good to see you, Mrs. Salazar.Copy !req
212. I-I've heard so much
about your famous chicken.Copy !req
213. And a lot of other great things,
of course.Copy !req
214. - Thank you, Benji.Copy !req
215. Um, listen, guys,
I don't know what happened,Copy !req
216. but I went to go check on the food,Copy !req
217. and the stove must be broken or something,Copy !req
218. because it's totally burnt.Copy !req
219. It's just chicken... ash.Copy !req
220. So, why don't you guys go out?
Get some pizza... on me.Copy !req
221. - Why don't we just order delivery?Copy !req
222. - I... did not think of that.Copy !req
223. That sounds... good.Copy !req
224. - Great.Copy !req
225. - Oh, uh, excuse me. Sorry.Copy !req
226. This has been, uh, really great so far.Copy !req
227. I just gotta quickly
take this call outside.Copy !req
228. Away from here.Copy !req
229. - Let me show you around.Copy !req
230. - Mia. Hey.
- Hey.Copy !req
231. - I called you like a million times—
- I've been off the grid—Copy !req
232. - Oh.Copy !req
233. - I just, I needed time to,
to clear my head.Copy !req
234. But I'm home now.Copy !req
235. And, um, my dad and Veronica
won't stop making out.Copy !req
236. Um, and I'm staring at a breast pump.Copy !req
237. Can I come over?Copy !req
238. - Wait, you're home?
I thought you were back tomorrow.Copy !req
239. Um...Copy !req
240. Well, I-I'm actually at Victor's.Copy !req
241. - Oh. Cool.Copy !req
242. - Is that okay?Copy !req
243. Because if it's not,
I will leave right now.Copy !req
244. Queens before peens.Copy !req
245. I mean, you say the word
and I will ditch these gaysCopy !req
246. like a corporation after Pride month.Copy !req
247. - Lake, it's fine.
Um, we'll hang tomorrow.Copy !req
248. - Yes, please. Um...Copy !req
249. But also, we're having a bonfire
at Lake Lanier tonight,Copy !req
250. and Victor and Benji will be there.Copy !req
251. But you should come.Copy !req
252. Maybe. I'll think about it.Copy !req
253. Bye.Copy !req
254. - The secret is two layers of sunscreen.Copy !req
255. Sunscreen, primer, sunscreen again.Copy !req
256. And then, only then, foundation.Copy !req
257. I call it the sunscreen sandwich.
Nobody steal that.Copy !req
258. Hey.Copy !req
259. I got some chips.
You know, until the pizza comes.Copy !req
260. Cool.Copy !req
261. - Thanks.Copy !req
262. Mmm...
Mmm...Copy !req
263. - Hits the spot.Copy !req
264. - Mmm. So good.Copy !req
265. - This salsa homemade?Copy !req
266. - I love chips.Copy !req
267. - Mom, did you know Benji's in a band?Copy !req
268. He sings and plays guitar
and piano. Like you.Copy !req
269. - Um, yeah, actually my mom
just got a new jobCopy !req
270. as the music director at
Saint Frances Church.Copy !req
271. Mmm.Copy !req
272. - You know Benji actually likes
a lot of the same music as you, Ma.Copy !req
273. Like, um, Billie Holiday.Copy !req
274. You love her, right?Copy !req
275. - Yes, I do.Copy !req
276. Felix, is it true that your job
at Brasstown is coming to end,Copy !req
277. because I absolutely love
your fruit smoothies.Copy !req
278. You really know your way around a mango.Copy !req
279. - Oh, well, uh, you know,
Benji, he, uh,Copy !req
280. he taught me everything I know.
Yeah. So, uh...Copy !req
281. I just, uh, follow his
instructions and hit puree.Copy !req
282. - Well, you are gonna have to give me
your recipe someday, Benji.Copy !req
283. - I mean, usually that's top secret.Copy !req
284. But for my boyfriend's mom,Copy !req
285. I'll make an exception.Copy !req
286. I've had too much salsa.Copy !req
287. Um, I've got this, like,
acidy reflux thing, so...Copy !req
288. I'm gonna let you guys hang...Copy !req
289. - Ma, you had, like, one chip.Copy !req
290. Why don't you just wait
to see if it passes?Copy !req
291. - Victor, if I said I don't feel good,
I don't feel good. Déjame, okay?Copy !req
292. - Why don't we just go
to that bonfire, yeah?Copy !req
293. - Yeah.
- Sounds good. Yeah.Copy !req
294. Okay, so how long is the drive?Copy !req
295. - Hey.
About an hour.Copy !req
296. - I can't believe you let me get a turtle.Copy !req
297. Pilar was right.
Guilty separated Dad is the best.Copy !req
298. - She said that?Copy !req
299. - I'm gonna call her Heather.Copy !req
300. - Why Heather?Copy !req
301. - Because it's a beautiful name.Copy !req
302. Wait, we need to go back.
We need another tank.Copy !req
303. - What? Why? This one's got everything.Copy !req
304. It's got plants, and a little rock
for her to sun herself.Copy !req
305. - Yeah, but we need two tanks.Copy !req
306. One for your place and one for mine.Copy !req
307. - Mijo, Heather's only gonna live
in my apartment.Copy !req
308. - Oh.Copy !req
309. Then I don't want her.Copy !req
310. - What? Why not?Copy !req
311. - I already miss you half the time.Copy !req
312. I don't need to miss a turtle, too.Copy !req
313. Let's just return her.Copy !req
314. - Adrian.Copy !req
315. Hungry much?Copy !req
316. - Hi, Andrew.Copy !req
317. - How was your summer?Copy !req
318. - I missed air conditioning.Copy !req
319. And there was a week when my whole
cabin's periods synced up,Copy !req
320. and it turned into The Hunger Games.
- Wow.Copy !req
321. - Um, but I mean,
other than that, pretty good.Copy !req
322. I got your care package.Copy !req
323. I'm sorry that I didn't respond.Copy !req
324. - Oh no, it's fine.
- No, it's not.Copy !req
325. Uh, but, um, between Victor being gay,Copy !req
326. and my dad getting engaged,Copy !req
327. and Veronica getting pregnant,Copy !req
328. I... I just wanted to take the summerCopy !req
329. to figure out where I fit here.Copy !req
330. - And? Well, did you figure it out?Copy !req
331. - Didn't even come close.Copy !req
332. I—
Hey. Sorry I'm late.Copy !req
333. - Oh, do you know—
Lucy, right?Copy !req
334. Um, you're friends with Benji.Copy !req
335. Uh, and we, we had English together
freshman year.Copy !req
336. - Yes! Ms. Smuckler!Copy !req
337. Why was she always assigning
those erotic poems?Copy !req
338. - Yeah, if I had to read one more
haiku about a quivering flower...Copy !req
339. Uh...Copy !req
340. So, uh, when did you guys...Copy !req
341. - Uh, Steve Danahey's
Fourth of July party.Copy !req
342. - Huh.
- Weird, right? I'm so not into jocks.Copy !req
343. And yet somehow this
walking protein shakeCopy !req
344. wormed his way into my heart.Copy !req
345. - Well, the heart wants what it wants.Copy !req
346. And mine currently wants this...Copy !req
347. Uh, shrimp lo mein, so I'm gonna...Copy !req
348. I'll see you at school.Copy !req
349. - Wanna go?
- Yeah.Copy !req
350. - Hey, guys.
Hey.Copy !req
351. - What is all this stuff?Copy !req
352. - Mom, meet Heather. My new turtle.Copy !req
353. She's gonna live here,
and at Dad's apartment.Copy !req
354. Come on, Heather.
- Okay...Copy !req
355. - Yeah, I know. I, uh,
I wanted my apartment to be fun,Copy !req
356. and, uh, kinda spiraled from there, so...Copy !req
357. - How is your new place?Copy !req
358. - Oh, my place? It's...Copy !req
359. Yeah, my place is great.
Yeah, it's good. It's, um...Copy !req
360. It's depressing as hell.Copy !req
361. - We're doing the right thing, right?Copy !req
362. The separation...
- I think so. I...Copy !req
363. We were stuck.Copy !req
364. We were stuck in a cycle of just
fighting and guilt tripping...Copy !req
365. Wasn't fair to us.Copy !req
366. Right? It definitely
wasn't fair to the kids.Copy !req
367. - Yeah.Copy !req
368. Yeah, I know.Copy !req
369. So... Benji came over tonight.Copy !req
370. We were all supposed to
have dinner together...Copy !req
371. - Hmm.
- But then I saw him and Victor
acting like a couple and I, I...Copy !req
372. - Yeah, I, I know.
I get it. It's... it's a lot.Copy !req
373. It's, it's a lot for me, too,Copy !req
374. and it's lot for, for me
to wrap my head around.Copy !req
375. - Do you think you ever will?Copy !req
376. - Of course.Copy !req
377. Isa, he's my son, and it's who he is.Copy !req
378. I have to.Copy !req
379. We both do.Copy !req
380. Okay, I think we got it—
- Oh, wait! No.Copy !req
381. I wanna—
I wanna do the lighter fluid! Please?Copy !req
382. - Go for it.
Thank you. All right.Copy !req
383. Okay, I'm scared.
I don't want my face to burn off.Copy !req
384. My mom says I have the jawline
of a young Hilary Swank.Copy !req
385. - Aw, Felix, just do it.
- Come on, man. Come on, just do it.Copy !req
386. - Whoa!Copy !req
387. All righty.Copy !req
388. - Hey, Felix, let's go get the fireworks
from the car, huh?Copy !req
389. - But it's cozy.Copy !req
390. - I'll make it worth your while.Copy !req
391. - Those two are kind of perfect together.Copy !req
392. - Yeah.Copy !req
393. - Hey.Copy !req
394. I'm sorry things didn't go well today.Copy !req
395. With your mom.Copy !req
396. - It's okay.Copy !req
397. I'm sure things will
get better eventually.Copy !req
398. - You know, you don't
have to pretend everything's okayCopy !req
399. when we talk about how shitty
your mom was being.Copy !req
400. I mean, she can barely
look at us together.Copy !req
