101. So, Tyler, was this a one-and-done fishing experience,

102. - or are you hooked now? - No, I had a great time.

103. I told him, "Let's go again." I was surprised by how much fun I had.

104. We had a ball, all three of us.

105. You said you were good at everything in the pods, so I was testing it out.

106. - Did I get a fish? - Well, yeah, something like that.

110. And it's hard to believe, but you've been married almost a year now.

111. Wow. Congrats again.

112. So, bring us up to speed. How's it going? How's everything been?

113. It's been great. Honestly. This year has been a lot of laughter,

114. a lot of growth, a lot of love.

115. - A learning experience. - Mm-hmm.

116. We always talk about how important it is once you get married,

117. before the world finds out, that time that you have.

118. How crucial it is to the married couples to solidify that foundation,

119. because once the show is out there and your story is out there,

120. then everyone wants to chime in.

121. Boy, do I miss that bubble. That bubble was nice. Yeah.

122. I'm gonna get into that. Tyler, you had spoken on the show,

123. and everybody was shocked when you revealed that you had donated sperm

124. to help a friend and her wife have children.

125. - Yep. - And then, since then,

126. there has been online chatter about your involvement in these children's life

127. and it being more than you had initially let on.

128. So can you now clarify what's going on with that?

129. Absolutely. Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this.

130. So what is happening now is I try to keep that from happening.

131. Their birth certificates are online.

132. Things that shouldn't be happening are now happening.

133. And to get into the story, I did help a friend and her wife start a family,

134. but her wife ended up leaving her and left her high and dry.

135. This was my very close friend.

136. So I stepped in, voluntarily stepped in and helped.

137. So there are pictures of me around. You'll see me around.

138. I've spent holidays with all my friends, you know, all their kids.

139. And I played a part that became very shaky with a friend.

140. And there's no rule books to this. There's no set lines to this.

141. But I do wanna let people know…

142. Ashley knows all this.

143. This is news to the world. This has never been news to us.

144. And I'm giving this explanation now

145. because I feel like the world is waiting for it.

146. But I don't owe anyone an explanation but my wife.

147. And if she's sitting here with me…

148. We got your back, man.

149. I'm good. We're good.

150. - I'm not gonna keep harping on it. - Yeah.

151. It's funny, everyone kept saying I said "Mm-hmm" a lot in the pods.

152. - But not today. - Yes!

153. - I have some things to say. - Please do.

154. Starting with… like, who do you think has better insight

155. on what's going on, social media or me?

156. So for people to imply that, like, "She was blindsided, she didn't know,"

157. it's, like, insulting to my intelligence. That's number one.

158. Number two, for the record,

159. this is something he never wanted to share on camera.

160. I just didn't feel like it would be an authentic experience,

161. or that I could continue the experience if we didn't.

162. Because I know me. I cannot hide my facial expressions.

163. So I think there would've been a disconnect

164. and the viewers would've noticed,

165. my friends would've noticed when he went to meet them.

166. So I told him, in some capacity, we have to talk about this.

167. And, you know, there were things he was comfortable sharing and things he wasn't.

168. For example, one time I asked him,

169. I said, "Do they know what you look like?" And he's like, "I don't think so."

170. - And you could tell that he— - That he was trying to lie.

171. Yeah. So of course he divulged that information.

172. I'm so sorry, let me say that he was trying to lie for the cameras,

173. but you guys had already had this conversation.

174. The thing is, we weren't there for a couple other things we'll get to later.

175. - Hey, Stephen. - Hey, Stephen.

176. But you guys had had this conversation, and I see that the next day for cameras,

177. you're trying to clarify because you wanna be authentic,

178. but also you're trying to protect him and these children.

179. The very thing that we didn't want to happen happened.

180. And the thing with humanity is they have a hard time—

181. we have a hard time— understanding anything that we don't get,

182. anything that's taboo, anything that's out of our norm.

183. And that's exactly what's happening. Instead of trying to rationalize,

184. like, maybe this was hard to navigate, right?

185. And for me, I just know Tyler,

186. in his heart, to know that it had to be hard to navigate with a friend.

187. Way easier when you're removed.

188. And with him growing up in a single-parent household,

189. and in that scenario, when that happened with the divorce,

190. it was very hard for him to remove himself

191. and not be involved when this is now a single mom, right?

192. So that was hard for him, and I just know that he is a good person

193. who went in a little too deep and didn't know what to do.

194. This is not a game. This is till death do us part.

195. And we mean it. You can try.

196. We've seen all the, "Get an annulment," "Be done with him."

197. - Ask Ashley. - And it's like, look…

198. When I said, "I do," I said "I do" to all of it.

199. I was aware and I took on what I wanted to.

200. And this is a once in a lifetime kind of love.

201. - Yes. - This is a rarity, and it's something

202. that is worth risking anything for.

203. - And I ain't saying do nothing crazy. - No.

204. I'm just saying, let's not get nuts,

205. but, you know, this is something that I knew.

206. Of course, if I listened to the public,

207. I could go find a man, go pop my stuff a little bit.

208. No, you can't. She can't find a man.

209. I could if I wanted to, but this is something that I would never find again.

210. - And it's worth it all. - We're just so grateful for your love,

211. and watching it the whole season was giving me all the feels.

212. Yeah, she had all the feels.

213. Well, guys, we know it's a sensitive subject,

214. and we really, truly, truly appreciate the insight,

215. and you guys being so honest and forthright about

216. - sharing that here on the stage. - Thank you.

217. You've had your valleys, you've had your peaks.

218. What do you think, if you can put it in a nutshell,

219. is one of the best things about being married to Tyler, Ashley?

220. Tyler is my calmest love.

221. I've never felt so centered than I do when I'm with him.

222. Whenever I have a bad day, you know, I used to— I'd call my mom.

223. - I still call you sometimes. - Yeah.

224. But now I call him first, you know,

225. and it's good having a best friend that listens and cares for my heart.

226. And like you said, the foundation that we have is so deep and beautiful.

227. And, you know, we learned a lot of different things along the way,

228. like dropping pride, and like, you know, like, dropping arguments.

229. You know, picking and choosing your battles, things like that…

230. But I definitely just love the stillness and the calmness that he brings.

231. It's a ride, right? But that's the beauty of it,

232. you know? It's never a dull moment. And we say this about our relationship.

233. To me, that's the way I would want it.

234. You're continuing to learn, continuing to experience each other

235. and learn from each other and just enjoy that ride. So, Tyler, what about you?

236. What's the best thing about being married to Ashley?

237. She a'ight. No, no, no.

238. Honestly, it's the unconditional love.

239. Thought about this a million times.

240. I've gotten hurt playing sports. I've been sick…

241. Some other things have happened, and she has been standing there.

242. There has never been a day where she said— or she hasn't said, "I love you."

243. It's extremely unconditional.

244. I've never experienced unconditional love to this extent.

245. And she reassures me every time we talk.

246. "I'm not going anywhere. I love you no matter what."

247. And for me, that's the first time ever in my life experiencing this,

248. and it's big. Now I'm starting to feel what unconditional love is like.

249. - It's amazing. - For you, as the mother perspective,

250. looking on to see your daughter and her husband, your son-in-law,

251. what's it been like for you this past year?

252. It's been beautiful. I mean, I'm learning from them, you know?

253. Really? What are you learning from them?

254. The way that they communicate. They have open communication.

255. I just think that it's so beautiful.

256. And I'm gonna keep learning from you.

280. who are watching you. So it's amazing you were able to feel that, you know,

281. - because that's real. - And you're getting emotional.

285. - What's happening with you now, AD? - Um…

286. No, I'm just having a good time.

290. A very special someone. But we're keeping it private.

298. All right, every season we have stories that warm our hearts

299. and others that break them.

300. One relationship that surprised us all was Marissa and Ramses.

301. Hey, guys. Hi.

302. There were mostly green flags.

303. There were a few nautical flags.

304. But there was one big red flag when Ramses called everything off.

305. - Hey, Marissa. - Hi.

306. Watching you go through that moment

307. on our television was really hard.

308. - How was that for you to watch? - Um…

309. Um, I felt like I was reliving it.

310. God, I'm such a cry-baby.

311. - It's okay. - It's okay to cry.

312. It was hard because I just, like, remember what it felt like.

313. So it could just be hard to kind of see that and just relive it, pretty much.

314. I felt like my heart was breaking all over again. Yeah.

315. Ramses, how was it for you,

316. reliving that moment and watching that moment over again?

317. Um, it was difficult, you know, I didn't come into this experience

318. wanting to devastate anyone or leave anyone heartbroken.

319. You know, I was— I came in here looking for the love of my life,

320. and for the majority of this experience, I thought I had found it in Marissa.

321. And so watching it back was— was difficult.

322. I had to pause several times 'cause, you know, I hadn't seen her reaction

323. once she was alone and in her interviews, and, uh,

324. just seeing how— how she was falling apart

325. was— was very difficult to— to watch back.

326. You mentioned for a majority of this experience

327. you thought you had found that.

328. Can you walk us through what that was that derailed that for you?

329. Yeah, so, for me, once we got into that latter portion of the experience,

330. um, I basically started to recognize how— how far of a space there was

331. in— in our energy, and how there wasn't that balance

332. that I sort of felt in the pods.

333. And there was one day where I think it just really hit home for me,

334. and I realized and recognized that if I move forward with Marissa,

335. uh, every day I would be in a place

336. where I would feel exhausted and overwhelmed.

337. I don't wanna change who she is.

338. She deserves a person and a love that will embrace who she is fully, as she is.

339. I just felt that that person couldn't be me.

340. - Hey, Vanessa. How you doing? Okay.

341. Is this the first time that you've seen Ramses?

342. Mm-hmm. Yeah.

343. - Yeah. Well— - Is there anything that you—

344. No, um, the day that she called.

345. When everything was called off, I was on my way.

346. For the wedding.

347. And everything was called off.

348. And, um, she was upset.

349. And, of course, I'd do anything for her, so I did go up there and speak to him,

350. even though I wanted to punch him in the throat.

351. And try to talk him into— You know, see what was wrong.

352. And I'm thankful he called it off.

353. I am. She would've carried that relationship.

354. And so… he did the right thing.

355. And I thank you for that.

356. That first doubt, he should've been honest

357. and man enough to tell her I'm feeling a little bit of— of doubt

358. instead of reassuring her every single time she asked him.

359. She really felt like when she came into this experiment,

360. she was going to meet her one,

361. and she thought you were it.

362. And you broke her.

363. I had to help pick her up.

364. She was devastated.

365. Devastated.

366. You didn't see that part. You got to walk away.

367. And cry. Cry like you were the one that was hurt.

368. Yeah, no, I— You're correct.

369. I should have been more forthcoming about those concerns I had earlier on.

370. I didn't bring them up 'cause I wasn't sure in the moment

371. if it was gonna become an issue for us or not.

372. It took time for me to arrive at that place.

373. But you see, I didn't have, like— like, a say, right?

374. 'Cause everything you just said was like, "I" this, "I" that.

375. It's like, we're a partnership.

376. It's like, if you're tiptoeing about my feelings, like, I don't have a say in,

377. like, how we can better and grow as a— in a relationship.

378. No, I understand. And I, again, I take full accountability for the fact

379. that I didn't bring this up sooner.

380. And that's— If I have any regret in this experience,

381. it's not having been more forthcoming about that with you.

382. And not to take away from the pain that you felt,

383. but it was difficult for me as well.

384. I saw myself, I saw us having a future,

385. and I saw what it could potentially be.

386. But it— Unfortunately, it's—

387. I came to that realization towards the end of this experience,

388. and it— it just made for a very sort of heartbreaking situation.

389. Marissa, can I tell you something?

390. - Mm-hmm. - You are beautiful,

391. - and your energy is beautiful. - Thank you.

392. And I don't mean this as a slight to Ramses at all.

393. - No, it's true. - But you wanna find someone

394. who will love all of you, and that part of you that is such—

395. it's such a beautiful thing.

396. So don't— please don't feel like you did anything wrong in this,

397. or there's anything wrong with you.

398. - There's not at all. - I know.

399. You're a beautiful, beautiful soul and a beautiful person, and, yeah.

401. Ramses, is there anything that was really, like, sitting with you

402. that you wanted to kind of button up today?

403. Yeah. You know, we had a lot of different conversations.

404. There's one in particular that we had about contraception.

405. I wanted to clarify, at no point,

406. that I ever tried to present Marissa with an ultimatum.

407. She had very valid reasons as to why she didn't wanna use hormonal contraception.

408. I'm well aware of the effects it has on a woman's body,

409. and so I would never try to force that upon her.

410. We had a conversation about multiple methods.

411. It was a very nuanced conversation.

412. We arrived at sort of a solution that worked best for us,

413. and it wasn't a situation where I was just being whiny and bratty

414. and like, "Oh, I don't wanna use a condom"

415. or whatever the sort of perception is of that conversation.

416. So we could wrap it up. This conversation.

417. Always important to wrap it up.

419. the journey of both heartache and, ultimately, great, great happiness.

466. for the baby, so it's really sweet.

477. Looking back, is there any part of you

478. that just wishes you had ridden the stinkin' duck that day?

482. In looking back now and watching it, you were very direct.

483. I just wanted to know, if looking back now, in hindsight,

484. do you think, "I'm glad I did that," and we didn't end up working out.

485. Or were you thinking, "Maybe I was a little too direct"?

486. Yeah, I think— My personality is just— I'm very to the point.

487. I'm very direct. That's just who I am. I'm very blunt.

488. And sometimes my delivery does not come out how I think it's coming out.

489. I think I'm telling you exactly how it is, but really, I just sound like a bitch.

490. You know what I mean? So I just have to be a little bit careful.

491. And, like, I'm aware of that. Even when we film,

492. I'm aware that, like, I need to chill sometimes.

493. Like, I need to not be so direct.

494. So the things that I said were all true, but it's just the way that you say it.

495. How does that make you feel, Nick, to know that she's saying,

496. "Yes, I stand by everything I say"?

497. Um, I wouldn't have expected her to say anything less.

498. She's entitled to her opinion, and I certainly respect her.

499. And I just think some things came across not completely true.

500. Or, you know, I know she felt that way.

501. Um, but the delivery could've been a little bit better,

502. and I was a little confused with some of the things that she was saying.

503. Like what?

504. Um, we weren't on the same level intellectually,

505. you know, financially literate, respectful.

506. You know, I feel like just watching it back, she would tell her friends,

507. "Part of the reason why, you know, I'm in love with Nick is because

508. he treats me the right way and he's respectful."

509. And then when we broke up, you know, I wasn't respectful.

510. And it's just some things like that, you kind of watch back, and like I said,

511. you know, Hannah's entitled to, you know, her perspective and her opinion.

512. I just saw it a little bit different.

513. Nick demonstrated a lot of patience, patience that I never would've had.

514. So I'm very, very impressed by that, and I knew he's a good dude,

515. but I was definitely impressed by his patience throughout the whole thing.

516. What are you feeling when he says it takes a lot of patience

517. to be in a relationship with you, to hear that constantly?

518. Yeah, I think for sure. Like, I have a big personality.

519. Like, I'm a lot. Like, I'm self-aware, and, like,

520. I know that, like, you have to have a lot of patience with me

521. because, like, I am direct and I'll just say things.

522. But yeah, I get it. I guess he had a lot of patience. Yeah, that makes sense.

523. So you don't have any, in watching it—

524. I don't wanna use the word "remorse," because I never wanna take away

525. from your independent strength.

526. But in watching the way that it was delivered,

527. and I know that you said you could've worded it differently—

528. do you have anything you wanna say to Nick

529. about how you were communicating with him during your engagement?

530. I'm just direct.

531. - Period. I am, I'm very direct.

532. It's harsh. It's bad. I know. This past year I've worked on it.

533. Watching it back, I see, like, "You could've said it a lot differently,"

534. you know? But that's inherently who I am, and, like, I am direct.

535. I just need to work on how direct I am.

536. But, yeah.

537. I'm just direct, okay? I'm a bitch sometimes. I get it, I know.

539. Listen, she's doubling down.

540. - She's standing ten toes down. - Doubling down, that's exactly—

1207. And then I put my phone down in the sleep study and I said,

1208. "You know what? I've done this before, I know where it ends.

1211. I emotionally conquered a demon that I've been fighting for a while.

1647. What I've been up to in life, so I moved to the best city in the world.

1648. I moved to New York City, and I think what was so great is that

1649. for the first time in my life as an adult,

1650. I made a decision to move to a city that was for me,

1651. not for a job, not for a relationship, not for school.

1652. It was, where do I wanna go?

1653. And that was a big part of my learning and my discovery, and I met my partner.

1658. And Marshall, what's been going on in your world, man?

1659. Things have been going great.

1660. Actually, I relocated to Los Angeles.

1661. I'm living here now, so sorry, Zack and Bliss.

1662. I'm no longer in Seattle.

1663. And I am single.

1664. I am chasing my mountaintop,

1665. doing the things that I need to do as a,

1666. I often say this as a man, but as a human, as an adult, and things are going great.

1684. No, but we've had a couple golfing experiences.

1687. I know that this was a big thing for you guys,

1688. was where you were going to live, and you talked about San Diego a lot.

1689. Where are you today on that transition as a married couple?

1690. Right now we're living in Fredericksburg.

1691. That's where we've been for the past year.

1692. Now we're looking at ironically enough, moving to D.C.

1693. because we spent a lot of time in San Diego

1694. and a lot of time abroad.

1695. Taylor and I went through some moments where,

1696. as you saw on the show, it was very difficult for me to

1697. be away from my family and friends and to process that.

1698. I wanted to give that to Taylor so bad and so we tried.

1699. We spent a lot of time away, but it was very difficult for me to go through that.

1700. I ended up sharing that with Taylor.

1701. It was difficult.

1702. And so, her being an incredibly understanding

1703. and patient wife that she is,

1704. we talked about it and she agreed maybe

1705. we'd do something a bit more neutral grounds, something closer to home.

1706. D.C. seemed like the next natural fit.

1707. We're excited about starting a life there together and seeing where it goes.

1708. I'd lived in D.C. for five years and

1709. the show had approached me and I was ready to go home.

1710. I figured, this will be my last hurrah, why not?

1711. You can clearly see how amazing my parents are

1712. and how I was ready to be by them, but…

1713. when you get married you become a unit.

1714. I love you guys so much and I don't know what the future has, but…

1715. home is with Garrett.

1716. And so, I'm excited to figure out this next chapter with you.

1719. Garrett, you mentioned that you guys have been doing a lot of traveling

1720. in this first year of marriage.

1728. You're going viral on the internet right now with the hair,

1729. with the 5 o'clock shadow, you modeled in Fashion Week.

1730. Is this the wifey effect or is this all you?

1731. This is all Garrett for sure, but I saw the potential first.

1732. And I've always thought that you were very sexy.

1733. This is all you. You were just like, I'm going to grow out my hair.

1734. I've always had a latent interest in fashion.

1735. I think we all have lots of different latent interests.

1736. And being married to a very fashionable and beautiful woman,

1737. I don't know, it just felt like I finally found somebody worth

1738. looking good for, worth paying attention to my looks.

1739. And so, she opened up that door for me.

1740. And we're running with it.

1741. It sounds like the move to D.C. is imminent,

1742. but aside from that move, what else is next for you guys?

1743. What's on the horizon?

1744. I'm going to follow him on Instagram, I think.

1745. You'll like it. There's a lot of good stuff on there.

1746. - And a vacation. - And a vacation, yeah.

1747. Well, I think for us,

1748. we are people that are very rigid and want to plan everything,

1749. but when we let the universe open up,

1750. we found each other, which has been the best adventure of them all.

1751. I think next for us is just being open to everything and anything.

1752. Spending more time with friends and family now that we're a bi-coastal couple

1753. is also a top priority for us.

1754. I'm extremely restless when I don't know the answer to something,

1755. and I think I spent a lot of the beginning of our marriage

1756. trying to know where we're going, what's going to happen,

1757. and it was not easy or fun, but once I just decided to just let go

1758. and let us be us and take one step at a time,

1759. I really fell into this and I'm really happy.

1760. You went onto the show without knowing the answer.

1761. And look it led both you guys.

1762. Well, congratulations as one of our married couples this season.

1763. We both look forward to seeing you on the other side

1764. in one of our next reunions, but I do want to go back to our other married couple.

1765. You guys mentioned in Cabo a tattoo, right?

1766. We kind of glazed over that.

1767. No, we haven't talked about it.

1768. I haven't got her name tattooed on me, but I'm not opposed to it still to this day.

1773. You guys talked a lot about wanting to start your own holiday tradition,

1774. so with the holidays coming up,

1775. what do you guys got planned? What do we got in store?

1776. - We had our first ornament that we had. - Yeah.

1777. What else did we do? We went to a cabin.

1778. You know, one of those little mini getaway cabins.

1779. We did that.

1780. We're going to create a new ornament every year.

1781. We had one last year. We'll do one next year.

1782. Then we'll split up with the families.

1783. Last year we were with Ashley's family, which, love them.

1784. Took me in like I was one of their own.

1785. Had a great time.

1786. I think this year we'll split between Pittsburgh and Maryland.

1804. which takes place in Minneapolis!

1826. but it's also not a small town, so…

1827. you kind of see the same people over and over,

1828. and it's a small bar scene, so yeah, I just never found the right person that

1829. clicked for me, but I'm excited to be here.

1830. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to really learn about who you are,

1831. how you communicate, and how well you work in a relationship,

1832. and I know I've taken a lot of those lessons into my marriage

1833. and just into life itself,

1834. so I would say just jump in and be yourself and good luck.
