1. You weren't born to be king, Loki.Copy !req
2. You were born to cause pain
and suffering and death.Copy !req
3. The Time-Keepers are allCopy !req
4. that stand between us
and full-scale calamity.Copy !req
5. For all time.
Always.Copy !req
6. Why am I locked in here?Copy !req
7. You were disloyal to the TVA.Copy !req
8. You were in the Time-Keepers'
chambers. They weren't real.Copy !req
9. - And why does that change anything?
- That changes everything!Copy !req
10. The nexus event
the two of you caused,Copy !req
11. whatever that connection is,
can bring this whole place down.Copy !req
12. This is new for me. Back on Lamentis...Copy !req
13. I can help you if you trust me.Copy !req
14. The person we're after
is beyond The Void at the end of time.Copy !req
15. That thing is just their guard dog
protecting the only way in.Copy !req
16. - How do we get past the guard dog?
- I'm gonna enchant it.Copy !req
17. She's pretty confident.Copy !req
18. Go!Copy !req
19. Way to go, Tic Tac!Copy !req
20. That's how you punch.Copy !req
21. Wakanda forever!Copy !req
22. You haven't heard of me.Copy !req
23. - Let me put you on hold.
- Dance-off, bro.Copy !req
24. A friend from work.
I can do this all day.Copy !req
25. - Yeah, I know.
I'll show you ferocity.Copy !req
26. Higher, further, faster, baby.Copy !req
27. We have a Hulk.Copy !req
28. We're gonna jump on that spaceship
and get out of here. Wanna come?Copy !req
29. We think of time
as a one-way motion.Copy !req
30. One small step for man...Copy !req
31. How dare they!Copy !req
32. My dream...Copy !req
33. We have fought
for the right to experience peace.Copy !req
34. Glorious purpose!Copy !req
35. Motivated by women
throughout the world.Copy !req
36. What is grief,
if not love persevering?Copy !req
37. I will rise.Copy !req
38. Open your eyes.Copy !req
39. Aren't you gonna tell me
not to kick the door in?Copy !req
40. It never made a difference.Copy !req
41. Well, if you think it's a bad idea,
I prefer you to speak your mind.Copy !req
42. No. Nothing to say.Copy !req
43. That'll be a first.Copy !req
44. Everything okay?Copy !req
45. (SNIFFLES) Yeah. Just need a moment.Copy !req
46. Right.Copy !req
47. - It's just, you normally...
- Loki, shut up.Copy !req
48. I was pruned before you even existed.Copy !req
49. I have been waiting for this moment
my entire life.Copy !req
50. I just need a second
to get my head straight, okay?Copy !req
51. Sure. Of course.Copy !req
52. Hey, y'all.Copy !req
53. You again?Copy !req
54. Welcome to The Citadel at the End of Time.Copy !req
55. Come on.Copy !req
56. Congratulations.Copy !req
57. Y'all had an awfully long journey
to get here.Copy !req
58. He's impressed.Copy !req
59. Who's impressed?Copy !req
60. He Who Remains.Copy !req
61. And who is he?Copy !req
62. He created all and he controls all.Copy !req
63. At the end, it is only He Who Remains.Copy !req
64. And he wants to offer you a deal.Copy !req
65. He's been making
a few creative adjustments,Copy !req
66. and he's worked it out so we can reinsert
both of y'all back into the TimelineCopy !req
67. in a way that won't disrupt things.Copy !req
68. - "Won't disrupt things"?
Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
69. The TVA can keep doin' its vital workCopy !req
70. and y'all can live the lives
you've always wanted.Copy !req
71. And what have we always wanted?Copy !req
72. Now,
don't play coy with me, mister.Copy !req
73. You know how you got into this mess.Copy !req
74. What?Copy !req
75. The Battle of New York, silly.Copy !req
76. You versus those self-righteous Avengers.Copy !req
77. How would you like to win?Copy !req
78. But not just there.Copy !req
79. You can kill Thanos.Copy !req
80. You want the Infinity Gauntlet? Yours.Copy !req
81. Throne of Asgard? No problem.Copy !req
82. What about you, missy?Copy !req
83. All those years on the run.Copy !req
84. Desperate, alone.Copy !req
85. How would you like to wake up tomorrow
with just a lifetime of happy memories?Copy !req
86. Two Lokis in the same place.Copy !req
87. Both of us...Copy !req
88. together on the Timeline.Copy !req
89. It's crazy, but he could make it work.Copy !req
90. All of it.Copy !req
91. Everything.Copy !req
92. Exactly the way you've always wanted.Copy !req
93. And you can have it all, together.Copy !req
94. It's fiction.Copy !req
95. We write our own destiny now.Copy !req
96. Oh, sure you do. Good luck with that.Copy !req
97. Come on.Copy !req
98. Hey, there.Copy !req
99. - What took you so long?
- Sorry.Copy !req
100. Some things had to get worked out,Copy !req
101. but I'm downloadin'
the files you need now.Copy !req
102. This isn't what I asked for.Copy !req
103. I know, but he thinks
this'll be more useful.Copy !req
104. Who?Copy !req
105. Happy readin'.Copy !req
106. He Who Remains.Copy !req
107. Not for much longer.Copy !req
108. Are we sure he's even still alive?Copy !req
109. This is wild. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
110. The two of you... (CHUCKLES)
same person.Copy !req
111. I mean, it's a little unnatural. But...Copy !req
112. Wow!Copy !req
113. Wild.Copy !req
114. He Who Remains.Copy !req
115. (CHEWING) He Who Remains.Copy !req
116. She still calls me that?Copy !req
117. Creepy, right? But...Copy !req
118. I like it.Copy !req
119. Come on. Come on, let's talk in my office.Copy !req
120. Not what you were expecting, hmm?Copy !req
121. You're just... a man.Copy !req
122. Mmm.Copy !req
123. Flesh and blood.Copy !req
124. - Don't tell me I'm a disappointment.
- No.Copy !req
125. Just a little bit easier to kill.Copy !req
126. Come on in.Copy !req
127. One...Copy !req
128. Two.Copy !req
129. Please, take a seat.Copy !req
130. Uh, Loki.Copy !req
131. Loki.Copy !req
132. Two sugars.Copy !req
133. - (KNOCKING ON DOOR)
- I said I wasn't to be disturbed.Copy !req
134. Well, then you're not gonna
be happy to see me.Copy !req
135. (WHISPERING) He's back.Copy !req
136. If anyone was ever gonna
make it back from The Void,Copy !req
137. I suppose it was gonna be you.Copy !req
138. Oh, well, you know, one man's Void
is another man's piece of cake.Copy !req
139. - So, you're gonna prune me?
- I like that idea.Copy !req
140. But, you know, my standards might be a
little bit higher in that area than yours.Copy !req
141. - You know, with close personal friends.
- I'm sorry, Mobius.Copy !req
142. I couldn't let you get in the way
of our mission.Copy !req
143. Mission?Copy !req
144. The Time-Keepers are fake.
We're all Variants. What mission?Copy !req
145. It can't have been for nothing.
That's why I had to prune you.Copy !req
146. Hunter D-90 to my office, immediately.Copy !req
147. Yeah. Sorry, Ravonna. That's not gonna
work out the way you think it is,Copy !req
148. now that we know your secret.Copy !req
149. What did you do?Copy !req
150. Stay alert, she's close.Copy !req
151. Secure the perimeter. I've got her.Copy !req
152. Stand down, B-15.Copy !req
153. You need to listen to me.Copy !req
154. There'll be time for that.
- Just wait.Copy !req
155. What the hell is going on here?Copy !req
156. Judge Renslayer.Copy !req
157. What?Copy !req
158. Who are you? And what the hell
are you doing in my school?Copy !req
159. That isn't Judge Renslayer. (SIGHS)Copy !req
160. How?Copy !req
161. We have a lot to talk about.Copy !req
162. Been a long journey for you, hasn't it?Copy !req
163. Lot of running, lot of pain.Copy !req
164. And you... (SPUTTERS)Copy !req
165. You're a flea on the back
of a dragon. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
166. In for one hell of a ride.Copy !req
167. But you did manage to hang on.Copy !req
168. Mmm-hmm. I guess
that counts for something.Copy !req
169. I'm not sure you quite understand
the situation.Copy !req
170. You've lost.Copy !req
171. We found you.Copy !req
172. Duh. Of course you did.Copy !req
173. - (SYLVIE GRUNTS)
- Whoa!Copy !req
174. A swing and a miss.Copy !req
175. So, we're still doing that, hmm?Copy !req
176. Let's get all this out of the way.Copy !req
177. Okay.Copy !req
178. Here we go.Copy !req
179. You can't kill me becauseCopy !req
180. I already know what's going to happen.Copy !req
181. See?Copy !req
182. It's a parlor trick.Copy !req
183. Okay.Copy !req
184. Don't you wonder how I'm able to get out
of the way just before you kill me?Copy !req
185. No. It's because of that little TemPad
you have there.Copy !req
186. Right.Copy !req
187. But how do I already have it loaded up
with everything I need to knowCopy !req
188. to keep from being killed by you two?Copy !req
189. It's easy.Copy !req
190. I know it all.Copy !req
191. And I've seen it all.Copy !req
192. Everything you guys
did on Lamentis, I saw.Copy !req
193. All the stuff the TVA
didn't know about, I knew.Copy !req
194. All the scheming, all the...Copy !req
195. (TUTS) ... talking.Copy !req
196. That little look by the lake.Copy !req
197. Quite sentimental, very touching stuff,
by the way.Copy !req
198. No.Copy !req
199. No, we broke out of your little game.
That's how we got here.Copy !req
200. No, wrong.Copy !req
201. Every step you took to get here,Copy !req
202. Lamentis, The Void,Copy !req
203. I paved the road.Copy !req
204. You...Copy !req
205. You just walked down it.Copy !req
206. And I have the rest,
uh, right here.Copy !req
207. Everything that's, uh...Copy !req
208. that's going to happen.
There's only one way this can go.Copy !req
209. Then why are we here?Copy !req
210. Oh, come on.Copy !req
211. You know you can't get to the end
until you've been changed by the journey.Copy !req
212. This stuff, it needs to happen.Copy !req
213. To get us all in the right mindset
to finish the quest.Copy !req
214. - Right.
Right.Copy !req
215. So, it's all a game.Copy !req
216. It's all... a manipulation.Copy !req
217. Interesting, that your head
would go to that.Copy !req
218. Sylvie,Copy !req
219. you think you can trust this guy?Copy !req
220. - Don't listen to him.
- "Don't listen to him." (LAUGHS)Copy !req
221. Do you think you're even capable
of trusting anyone at all?Copy !req
222. I think people are ready
to hear a little truth now.Copy !req
223. You know, like the TVA is a lie.Copy !req
224. But what if it's a necessary one?Copy !req
225. Someone created the Time-Keepers.Copy !req
226. They created this whole place.
They gave us all purpose.Copy !req
227. I have to believe they had a reason.Copy !req
228. No, because I've seen the horror
waiting for people when they get prunedCopy !req
229. and there's nothing necessary
about that.Copy !req
230. You know what would happen
if we didn't prune the Timeline?Copy !req
231. What?
- Chaos. Death.Copy !req
232. Free will?Copy !req
233. (SCOFFS) Free will?Copy !req
234. Only one person gets free will.
The one in charge.Copy !req
235. "Friends across time, allies to the end."Copy !req
236. - Shut up.
That was so beautiful.Copy !req
237. And then you sent me to die.
What happened to you?Copy !req
238. Nothing, Mobius. I didn't change.Copy !req
239. You didn't change? You betrayed me.Copy !req
240. No, no. You betrayed me!Copy !req
241. I looked out for you,
hung my neck out for you,Copy !req
242. and you suffer a crisis of faith
and turn to those Variants?Copy !req
243. Eons of friendship.Copy !req
244. And you threw it all away
on a couple of Lokis.Copy !req
245. No, Mobius. I didn't betray you.Copy !req
246. We can't take away people's free will,
Ravonna. Do you not see that?Copy !req
247. - What are you doing?
- What I need to do.Copy !req
248. Wait, stop.Copy !req
249. Look, maybe we can build this
into something better together.Copy !req
250. (SCOFFS) I'm sorry, Mobius.Copy !req
251. I'm not gonna let you go.Copy !req
252. Please, Mobius.Copy !req
253. Even with that...Copy !req
254. you're of no danger to me.Copy !req
255. Is that what you think?Copy !req
256. Let's see.Copy !req
257. Yep, you were right. (GROANS)Copy !req
258. Back here again.Copy !req
259. Go ahead.Copy !req
260. Where are you gonna go?Copy !req
261. In search of free will.Copy !req
262. I understand your moral objections
to what the TVA does.Copy !req
263. And my methods are deceptive.Copy !req
264. But the mission, it never was.Copy !req
265. Without the me, without the TVA...Copy !req
266. everything burns.Copy !req
267. Then what are you so afraid of?Copy !req
268. Me.Copy !req
269. And just who are you?Copy !req
270. Oh, I've been dubbed many names
by many people.Copy !req
271. A ruler, a conqueror.Copy !req
272. He Who Remains, a jerk.Copy !req
273. But it's... it's not as simple as a name.Copy !req
274. Eons ago, before the TVA,Copy !req
275. a variant of myself lived on Earth
in the 31st century.Copy !req
276. He was a scientistCopy !req
277. and he discovered that there were
universes stacked on top of his own.Copy !req
278. At the same time, other versions of us
were learning the same thing.Copy !req
279. Naturally, they made contact.
And for a while, there was peace.Copy !req
280. Narcissistic, self-congratulatory peace.Copy !req
281. "I love your shoes."I love your hair."
"Oh, man, nice nose."Thanks, man."Copy !req
282. Et cetera.Copy !req
283. They shared technology and knowledge.Copy !req
284. Using the best of their universes
to improve the others.Copy !req
285. However...Copy !req
286. not every version of meCopy !req
287. was so... so pure of heart.Copy !req
288. To some of us,
new worlds meant only one thing,Copy !req
289. new lands to be conquered.Copy !req
290. The peace between realities...Copy !req
291. erupted into all-out war,Copy !req
292. each variant fighting to preserve
their universeCopy !req
293. and annihilate the others.Copy !req
294. This was almost the end... (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
295. ladies and gentlemen,
of everything and everyone.Copy !req
296. And then the Time-Keepers
came along and saved us all.Copy !req
297. (SINGING) AmenCopy !req
298. No. (CHUCKLES) No.Copy !req
299. Nope, this is where we diverge
from the dogma.Copy !req
300. That first variant encountered a creatureCopy !req
301. created from all the tears in reality,Copy !req
302. capable of consuming time
and space itself.Copy !req
303. A creature...Copy !req
304. you both know.Copy !req
305. Alioth.Copy !req
306. Bingo!Copy !req
307. I harnessed the beast's power
and began experimenting on it.Copy !req
308. I weaponized AliothCopy !req
309. and I ended...
I ended the Multiversal War.Copy !req
310. Once I isolated our timeline,Copy !req
311. all I had to do
was manage the flow of timeCopy !req
312. and prevent any further branches.Copy !req
313. Hence, the TVA.Copy !req
314. Hence, the Time-Keepers
and a highly efficient bureaucracy.Copy !req
315. Hence, ages... (GRUNTS)
and ages of cosmic harmony.Copy !req
316. Hence...Copy !req
317. you're welcome.Copy !req
318. You came to kill the devil, right?Copy !req
319. Well, guess what?Copy !req
320. I keep you safe.Copy !req
321. And if you think I'm evil, well,Copy !req
322. just wait till you meet my variants.Copy !req
323. And that's the gambit.Copy !req
324. Stifling order or cataclysmic chaos.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
325. You may hate the dictator,
but something... (EXHALES DEEPLY)Copy !req
326. far worse is gonna fill that void
if you depose of him.Copy !req
327. I've lived a million lifetimes.Copy !req
328. I've gone through every scenario.Copy !req
329. This is the only way.Copy !req
330. The TVA,Copy !req
331. it works.Copy !req
332. Or you're a liar.Copy !req
333. Or I'm a liar.Copy !req
334. So you just...Copy !req
335. continue to prune innocent timelines?Copy !req
336. Mmm-mmm.Copy !req
337. You two would.Copy !req
338. There's two options! One...Copy !req
339. you kill me and destroy all this,
so you don't just have one devil,Copy !req
340. you have an infinite amount. Or...Copy !req
341. you two.Copy !req
342. You two run the thing.Copy !req
343. You're lying.Copy !req
344. Why would you give up being in control?Copy !req
345. Buddy...Copy !req
346. I'm tired.Copy !req
347. And I'm older.Copy !req
348. I'm older than I look.Copy !req
349. This game is for the young, the hungry.Copy !req
350. I've gone through a lot of scenarios...Copy !req
351. trying to find the right person
to take this spot.Copy !req
352. It turns out that person came in two.Copy !req
353. But it's definitely you two.Copy !req
354. So, no more lies.Copy !req
355. You kill me and the Sacred Timeline
is completely exposed.Copy !req
356. Multiversal War.Copy !req
357. Or you take over and return to the TVA
as its benevolent rulers.Copy !req
358. Tell the workforce who they are
and why they do what they do.Copy !req
359. You treated real people's lives
like some kind of game.Copy !req
360. It's not personal, it's practical.Copy !req
361. It was personal to me.Copy !req
362. (GROANS) Grow up! Grow up, Sylvie!Copy !req
363. Murderer! Hypocrite!Copy !req
364. We're all villains here. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
365. We've all done horrible,
terrible, horrific things.Copy !req
366. But now, we, you...Copy !req
367. have a chance to do them
for a good reason.Copy !req
368. We just crossed...Copy !req
369. the threshold.Copy !req
370. - (THUNDER RUMBLING)
- Oh.Copy !req
371. So, I fibbed.Copy !req
372. I fibbed earlier when I said
I know how everything's going to go. I...Copy !req
373. I know... I knew... (CHUCKLES)
everything up to a certain point,Copy !req
374. and that point was about...Copy !req
375. seven, eight, nine, ten seconds ago.Copy !req
376. But now I have no idea.Copy !req
377. No idea how the rest of this
is going to go.Copy !req
378. I'm being candid.Copy !req
379. So, that's it?Copy !req
380. That's it?Copy !req
381. This is what happens at the end of time?Copy !req
382. And now you're just gonna sit there
with all that freedom and...Copy !req
383. let us decide your fate?Copy !req
384. Yes!Copy !req
385. Yes! Yes! What's the worst
that can happen?Copy !req
386. You either...Copy !req
387. take over and my life's work continuesCopy !req
388. or you plunge a blade in my chest
and an infinite amount of me...Copy !req
389. start another Multiversal War.
And I just...Copy !req
390. end up right back here anyways. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
391. Reincarnation, baby.Copy !req
392. No, it's just another lie.Copy !req
393. Another manipulation.Copy !req
394. Oh.Copy !req
395. No lie.Copy !req
396. No manipulation.Copy !req
397. Wow.Copy !req
398. I love this.Copy !req
399. I love... all this honesty.Copy !req
400. Feels like a fresh start.Copy !req
401. - Oh, holy...
- (LOKI GRUNTS)Copy !req
402. What're you doing?
- Hang on a moment.Copy !req
403. Let's just talk about it.Copy !req
404. Well, how about we finish what we started
and kill him?Copy !req
405. - What if he's telling the truth?
- So what?Copy !req
406. - I believe him.
- Believe what?Copy !req
407. That a bazillion boogeymen
will turn upCopy !req
408. just because we give people free will?Copy !req
409. - He's a liar, Loki.
- So am I. (PANTING)Copy !req
410. And I don't think he was lying.
Not about that.Copy !req
411. Insane? Yes.
But maybe he was telling the truth.Copy !req
412. Better hurry.
Timeline's already branching.Copy !req
413. - So, what are you suggesting?
- That we think about it.Copy !req
414. And what precisely
is there to think about?Copy !req
415. Weren't you listening
to what he was saying?Copy !req
416. That's the gambit.Copy !req
417. Remove the dictator
and what fills the void?Copy !req
418. Ah.Copy !req
419. You want the throne?Copy !req
420. No, that's not it. No.Copy !req
421. - I don't believe you.
- Sylvie, the universe is in the balance,Copy !req
422. everything we know to be true. Everything.Copy !req
423. I know the TVA has hurt us both.Copy !req
424. But what if by taking him out,Copy !req
425. we risk unleashing something even worse?Copy !req
426. All I'm suggesting is we just
take a minute to think about it.Copy !req
427. I promise you from my heart
this isn't about a throne.Copy !req
428. What was I thinking trusting you?Copy !req
