Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman 4x17

1. (Lois) 'Where did that come from?'

2. Look at you, Miss innocent.

3. You attacked me. That's where that came from.

4. I remember being in the kitchen

5. browning the sausages and then you came in..

6. and then the rest is a blur.

7. Well, I am Superman.

8. Mmm.

9. The man of steel.

10. Mmm.

11. Oh, Clark, if you only knew how different

12. you are from other men.

13. I forget, and then..

14. I forgot.

15. What?

16. I forgot. You know.

17. So... we didn't use precautions.

18. - I mean, I know I didn't. - Me neither.

19. I-I wasn't thinking.

20. So..

21. We're sort of pioneers in this area.

22. I can't say that we're completely safe.

23. Well, honey..

24. if it happens, then, it happens.

25. But I'm not even absolutely sure that it can happen.

26. Well, maybe you should talk to Dr. Klein and find out.

27. Yeah, I—

28. (male #1) Shots fired at Adams and..

29. Oh, I gotta go.

30. We'll talk about this later.

31. - I love you. - Hmm.

32. Please, sir, just drop the gun.

33. I'm gonna give you one last chance to give yourself up.

34. Anything else I can do for you officers?

35. You alright?

36. - You okay? - Yeah.

37. One minute, we're in a shootout, then whoosh

38. suddenly, the perp's in the back of our unit.

39. 'And there she stood in all her glory'

40. like Wonder Woman or something

41. only in leather with a gold "V" on her

42. 'uh, you know, her chest area.'

43. 'Even Superman was surprised.'

44. Wow!

45. Hey, C.K., have you heard about this new super chick?

46. I mean gal, girl?

47. Woman, in town.

48. Jimmy, do me a favor.

49. Go drool over at your desk

50. while you run a background check for me.

51. The heads of three of metropolis' top corporations

52. have disappeared in the last 48 hours

53. so run a cross-reference

54. see what connections you come up with.

55. You got it.

56. So..

57. What's the deal with this babe?

58. Well, I don't know.

59. She had a little head start on me

60. and I couldn't catch up with her.

61. All I know is she's fast.

62. Fast?

63. Very fast.

64. Superman fast.

65. I hope she's not some Kryptonian leftover from Lord Nor's visit.

66. Any idea what the "V" on her chest stands for?

67. No.

68. Oh, uh, Lois, Clark..

69. '... I want you all to meet somebody.'

70. Leslie Luckabee, I'd like to introduce you to—

71. Well, now, these two hardly need introductions, Perry.

72. 'Lois Lane and Clark Kent.'

73. It's a sincere pleasure to meet you two.

74. Well, thank you.

75. I've been a fan of your work for quite some time

76. really topnotch journalism.

77. Had a lot to do with my final decision.

78. Final decision?

79. Mr. Luckabee here

80. he's the new owner of the "Daily Planet."

81. - New owner? - That's right.

82. Disappointed?

83. No.

84. 'No.'

85. It's just that, uh, we didn't even know

86. the paper was for sale, that's all.

87. Well, neither did I up until about an hour ago.

88. The negotiations were all handled

89. through my home office in Australia.

90. I didn't want the competition to get wind of it beforehand.

91. You understand.

92. Of course.

93. So you're Australian?

94. Born and raised.

95. Wondering where the accent is, eh?

96. Well, I watched too many American movies

97. growing up, I guess.

98. Anyway, I want to reassure everybody that I am not planning

99. on making any wholesale changes around here.

100. 'The last thing I want to do is ruin a first-class operation.'

101. My philosophy has always been

102. the best way to lead is from behind.

103. "Sun Tzu, The Art of war."

104. That's right.

105. I'm impressed, Clark, though hardly surprised.

106. You obviously didn't win that Kerth Award for nothing.

107. At any rate, as I was telling Perry here

108. the only thing that I know about a paper

109. is how to buy one.

110. 'The rest I hope to learn from you three.'

111. If you don't mind.

112. Not at all, Mr. Luckabee.

113. Leslie, please.

114. Leslie.

115. Okay, uh, come on

116. let me show you around the rest of the place.

117. I'm looking forward to working with you two.

118. - Likewise. - Yeah. Absolutely.

119. Nice grip.

120. Well, he seems like a nice guy.

121. - Young, to own a paper. - Yeah.

122. Guys, I just got a call.

123. It looks like another CEO just disappeared.

124. 'Vanished is more like it'

125. just like the other three guys.

126. Our forensics have been all over this crime scene

127. but they've come up with absolutely nothing.

128. No prints, no fibers, no nothing.

129. I mean, I'm stumped.

130. There's just no rational explanation

131. for what happened to him or the others.

132. Were there any witnesses this time?

133. Yeah, sure, dozens. And they all saw the same thing.

134. 'The bank chairman walked out'

135. 'took a couple of steps'

136. and, then, all of a sudden, he's not there.

137. He's just gone, literally without a trace.

138. You don't have any leads?

139. We got squat.

140. The only thing we found was this

141. 'and it's not even what you call a clue.'

142. It's the victim's toupee, right here where he last was.

143. It's the damnedest thing.

144. Well, maybe we can get that new superhero

145. to help us find the guy this hair belongs to.

146. Where am I?

147. (Mr. Smith) 'A long abandoned subway tunnel.'

148. 'Regaining your wits, I see.'

149. Who are you?

150. Wh-what am I doing here?

151. 'Who I am is not nearly as relevant as who you are'

152. 'and who you are is someone'

153. 'who betrayed the master'

154. 'and took full advantage of his downfall'

155. 'which brings us to your second query.'

156. What you're doing here.

157. What master? I don't know what you're talking about.

158. I demand you release me immediately.

159. 'I'm afraid your days of demanding are over.'

160. 'Your demise, of course'

161. will leave your banks ripe for a hostile takeover

162. a takeover which the master will orchestrate

163. in his quest to rebuild

164. what was once Metropolis' greatest

165. 'financial empire.'

166. 'An empire so powerful'

167. 'and so brilliantly pieced together'

168. 'that no one dared to challenge it until..'

169. Sorry to talk your ear off.

170. I don't get out much, you know.

171. No, no. It's okay, really.

172. Talk all you want. I'm in no hurry.

173. Oh, wait a minute.

174. If you put all those companies together, you'd have..

175. I know who your master is.

176. I'm glad.

177. He'd want you to know.

178. Well, I don't care what he says.

179. There's got to be a rational explanation.

180. People just don't vanish.

181. Well, we're gonna have to just keep digging

182. see if we can figure out what exactly it is.

183. We better figure it out fast

184. before another CEO disappears.

185. Hey, Jimmy, anything?

186. Hey, did you guys hear?

187. That superwoman did it again

188. stopped a carjacking over on main

189. then bagged a purse snatcher a minute later.

190. She's taking out bad guys left and right.

191. Did anybody get a chance to talk to her, find out who she was?

192. Uh-uh. She just took off.

193. Leslie thinks she might be related to Ultra Woman.

194. Remember her?

195. It rings a bell or two.

196. Ultra Woman. Yeah. She was beautiful.

197. No offense. Hey, I'm sorry, but she was absolutely stunning.

198. Anyway, did you find anything to connect up the CEO's?

199. Actually, yeah.

200. Turns out they're all being investigated

201. for embezzlement.

202. Couple of them have even been indicted already.

203. Including the bank chairman.

204. Well, maybe they just embezzled from the wrong guy

205. and he's getting even.

206. Call the FBI, see if they'll let us look

207. at the bank ATM Tapes.

208. If we're lucky, the chairman's disappearance was recorded

209. and maybe we'll see something.

210. You got it.

211. So I think our next step is..

212. (woman on radio) Armored car robbery, Metropolis security truck..

213. for you to save the day and me to work on this alone.

214. Armored car heist.

215. What's going on out there today?

216. - 'Hot lead?' - Excuse me?

217. Clark seems like he's in quite a hurry.

218. Oh, well, he's just Johnny on the spot, alright.

219. Well, that's what makes him such a great reporter, I suppose

220. worthy of all those accolades.

221. Oh, handsome brood. How old are they?

222. What? Oh, this isn't my desk.

223. I-I don't have any kids.

224. Oh, I'm sorry. I just assumed—

225. No. We've only been married for a couple of months.

226. Oh.

227. I mean, I'd like to have kids someday.

228. Well, it's better to wait especially

229. with your demanding careers.

230. 'I mean, when I was born, my father'

231. 'was still building his business.'

232. I hardly ever got to see him growing up.

233. Well, anyway, I'm off to meet the board of directors.

234. Oh, tell me that they are not a bunch of

235. stuffed shirts, I beg you.

236. No comment.

237. Maybe you, Clark, and I could have a bite together sometime

238. help me figure out what

239. I've gotten myself into here?

240. Sure. Anytime.

241. Wish me luck.

242. Good luck.

243. Come on. Hurry!

244. - Watch out! - Let's get out of here!

245. 'Come on. Let's go.'

246. Whoa!

247. Nice cape.

248. Who are you?

249. You're Superman, aren't you?

250. That's right.

251. You're supposed to be very strong.

252. Thank you.

253. You mind telling me who you are?

254. I am Vixen.

255. I eradicate evil, just like you.

256. Well, I don't exactly eradicate evil

257. unless I don't have a choice.

258. Interesting.

259. They say you're faster than a speeding bullet.

260. - Is that true? - Actually, you know what?

261. I'm much more interested in who you are

262. what you're doing here.

263. And I'm more interested in seeing how fast you are.

264. Wanna race?

265. Race?

266. First one to Paris wins.

267. What's the matter?

268. Afraid you're gonna lose to a girl?

269. Look, I-I don't wanna race you.

270. I just wanna..

271. talk to you.

272. Make sure these two get arrested.

273. That's the best you can do?

274. - How did you— - I ran.

275. Ran? Across the Atlantic?

276. I ran fast.

277. Where are you from, Vixen?

278. Let's just say I'm not from around here.

279. Wanna race again?

280. What are you doing here? What do you want?

281. I want to help bring order to your violent world.

282. Come on, two out of three. I'll race you to China.

283. No. I..

284. You lose again.

285. Enough of the games, Vixen. Get off.

286. Let's see how strong you really are.

287. Okay.

288. Not bad. I'm impressed.

289. Although I don't understand the blue suit.

290. It's not very intimidating.

291. I'm not trying to intimidate.

292. Look, if you wanna help keep law and order, that's great.

293. I welcome the help.

294. But you can't go around hurting people.

295. - Not even the bad guys. - Why not?

296. Because you are not judge

297. jury, and executioner.

298. You make the arrest, then you turn them over

299. to the proper authorities for prosecution.

300. That's the way the system works.

301. The system's flawed.

302. That's why I'm here.

303. Nice speech, though.

304. Great.

305. Yeah. I'm still holding for special agent Casey.

306. Jimmy Olsen, "Daily Planet."

307. I'm trying to get approval on a videotape.

308. Don't, no, no, please don't connect me

309. to the operator... again.

310. I hate this job.

311. Better not say that too loud.

312. The owner might overhear you.

313. Mr. Luckabee, hi.

314. I didn't see you coming, or else, I..

315. wouldn't have stuck my foot in my mouth.

316. Don't worry about it, truth is, sometimes

317. I'm not crazy about my job, either.

318. Really?

319. We haven't formally met. You're Jimmy Olsen, right?

320. Uh, right, yeah, you got it, sir.

321. Leslie's fine.

322. Someone giving you a hard time?

323. Yeah, the FBI, Lois asked me to get her

324. an ATM tape for her investigation.

325. Problem is, more often than not

326. the FBI Stands for "forget 'bout it."

327. I see.

328. So, so tell me, what's it like working with such

329. a celebrated reporter like Lois Lane

330. day in and day out?

331. Lois? It's great. She's incredible.

332. I'm the luckiest guy I know, except for Clark.

333. He's, uh..

334. way luckier than me, if you know what I mean.

335. Yes, I think I do.

336. They must have a very special relationship

337. being married and working together.

338. Quite remarkable in this day and age.

339. Yeah, no kidding.

340. Sure hope it lasts.

341. Well, anyway, nice meeting you, Jimmy. Carry on.

342. Okay, Mr. Luckabee, uh, Leslie.

343. (Mr. Smith) 'His name is Leslie Luckabee.'

344. He's the new chairman and owner of the "Daily Planet."

345. Do you want him brought here

346. or do we take him out ourselves?

347. The master wishes Mr. Luckabee's

348. demise to have certain witnesses.

349. Therefore, you should take care of the situation aboveground.

350. Then forget you ever saw this place.

351. No problem. First, the money.

352. In a moment.

353. I'm almost done.

354. Doing what, pruning that weed?

355. This weed, as you call it

356. is actually a 200-year-old specimen tree.

357. A bonsai.

358. Really?

359. Yes, really.

360. It's a living art form.

361. Connoisseurs admire them for their heroic struggle

362. to survive against

363. external adversities.

364. 'They actually consider them'

365. 'quite... beautiful..'

366. despite its gnarled and twisted

367. and unsightly appearance.

368. Huh. Still looks like a weed to me.

369. The money.

370. Of course.

371. Forgive me.

372. I do go on.

373. A hundred thousand dollars in bearer bonds

374. was the agreed-upon price, I believe.

375. When do you want the hit made?

376. Tonight.

377. Alright!

378. Everybody listen up!

379. 'Anyone who's not working on anything concrete'

380. 'is now working on this Vixen character.'

381. I want features, I want photos

382. I want editorials, I want the works.

383. I want to know everything there is to know about her.

384. Who she is? Where she comes from?

385. But most importantly

386. 'is she friend, or is she foe? '

387. Let's show our new owner here what we're capable of.

388. Okay, okay, let's hop to! Let's hop to!

389. Lois.

390. 'I want you and Clark on this.'

391. Page one. Get me an exclusive.

392. What about the missing CEOs?

393. Oh, I'll reassign it.

394. Honey, this could be the biggest story

395. since Superman came to town.

396. By the by, where is that husband of yours?

397. - Oh, you know, he's.. - 'Hey, check this out.'

398. (man on TV) 'Superman and Vixen were seen together in China.'

399. 'As a matter of fact, reports from..'

400. on top of things.

401. Oh, great shades of Elvis.

402. Amateur video captured him wrestling with her

403. in what appeared to be a playful manner.

404. Alright, Superman.

405. Well, it looks like he's found himself a mate.

406. Aw, it's about time.

407. I don't think it looks like he's found himself a mate.

408. Superman would never cheat on his..

409. (man on TV) 'Superman has proven again..'

410. principles.

411. He's far above that kind of tawdry behavior.

412. Everybody knows that.

413. I meant "mate" as in "friend."

414. Oh.

415. Australian.

416. - Right. - Right.

417. (man on TV) 'However, the growing public debate'

418. 'over who, exactly, Vixen is'

419. and what her intentions are only intensified

420. 'after the incident.'

421. Alright, alright, let's go, let's go!

422. Lois.

423. I want you to ask Superman

424. 'if he can get us an interview with Vixen.'

425. He obviously has some sort of relationship with her.

426. I'll see what I can do.

427. Well, since we're going to be here a while

428. maybe we should order some food.

429. - Sounds great. I'm starved. - What about you, Perry?

430. Oh, uh, well, I just had a T-bone, mate.

431. Well, then, I guess it's just you and me.

432. 'What do you feel like having?'

433. I don't care. Anything's fine.

434. What about Mexican, It's something

435. we don't get a lot of down under.

436. Mmm, there's a great little place right around the corner.

437. You know what? It'll just be faster if we go.

438. Oh, what about Clark?

439. I'll leave him a note, let him know where we are.

440. So, it's just this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

441. - Sounds intriguing. - It's very authentic Mexican.

442. - Clark. - Yeah.

443. Ah, there you are.

444. I left you a note. We're just going down to Roberto's.

445. You're gonna join us, of course?

446. Yeah, I love Mexican food.

447. Hey, Luckabee!

448. - You okay? - Yeah, I-I think so.

449. Friendly town you've got here.

450. That was so cool. Did you guys see that?

451. Yeah. I'm gonna go call the police.

452. - You're bleeding. - Oh, it's nothing.

453. Oh, no. Here.

454. Here.

455. Let me see that.

456. That's alright, Superman. I've got the situation under control.

457. Vixen, what are you doing?

458. You just killed them.

459. I don't understand.

460. They tried to kill him.

461. Yes, but with your speed and your strength

462. you could have easily arrested them instead.

463. Why would I have done that?

464. Because that's the way the system works here.

465. But they just would have gotten out to kill again.

466. You don't know that, and it's not your decision to make.

467. You have to use your super powers responsibly.

468. Whatever. You do it your way, I'll do it mine.

469. No.

470. You'll do it the right way

471. or you won't do it at all.

472. Mommy.

473. (male announcer) This is LNN.

474. Public pressure on community leaders

475. is intensifying after last night

476. 'when Vixen used lethal force'

477. 'in stopping the perpetrators from fleeing the scene.'

478. 'Witnesses described her actions as grossly excessive'

479. 'which has only added to the fear'

480. that she's either a crusading vigilante

481. or an out-of-control superhero.

482. Well, that'll keep people from panicking in the streets.

483. Well, obviously, Vixen has to be stopped.

484. What I can't figure out is how she showed up

485. so fast last night to save Leslie.

486. Well, you said she was fast.

487. Yeah, but there was no advance warning before the attack.

488. No gunshots, no screams

489. no cries for help, nothing.

490. Yet, suddenly, there she was, boom.

491. Almost like she knew it was gonna happen.

492. Clark. There you are.

493. I didn't get a chance to thank you

494. last night for saving my life.

495. It was no big deal. Really. How's your head?

496. Uh, it still aches, but thanks to you

497. at least I still have one.

498. You took a big risk for me, Clark. I won't forget that.

499. Uh, it was no big deal, really.

500. Have you talked to the police?

501. Do they have any leads on who the gunmen were?

502. No, and since Vixen vaporized them

503. we probably won't find any.

504. So I take it you didn't recognize who they were?

505. Well, I only caught a glimpse

506. but no, I didn't.

507. I hope this doesn't mean you're the next CEO on the hit list.

508. Well, actually, your attack was a different MO

509. than the others, they weren't shot at, they just disappeared.

510. Well, frankly, I'm not as concerned about myself

511. as I am about what Vixen's capable of.

512. I mean, if push comes to shove, I-I just hope

513. Superman will be able to stop her.

514. Me too.

515. Oh, by the way, I almost forgot.

516. Here's the bank's ATM tape you wanted.

517. Oh! Great. How did you get it?

518. Jimmy told me the FBI was giving him the runaround.

519. I gave them a call, promised them

520. a favorable article down the road.

521. Well, you learn fast, Leslie.

522. I've got good teachers.

523. I'll be interested to know if you find anything on that.

524. Hmm.

525. (Clark) 'Okay, here we go.'

526. 'There's the bank chairman—'

527. Did you see that? He literally did vanish!

528. No.

529. There.

530. There, see that?

531. See what?

532. Right here. The blue pixels.

533. They turn a goldish hue.

534. But only in the one frame where he disappears.

535. Gold? You mean as in..

536. Vixen.

537. So that's how the CEOs vanished

538. Vixen just whisked them away?

539. Well, why would she do that? Unless..

540. She treats embezzlers just like she treats every other criminal.

541. Which means she's taking the law into her own hands.

542. I'm gonna have to stop her before she hurts anyone else.

543. How do you know where to look?

544. I don't.

545. That could take a while.

546. Wait up for me?

547. Always.

548. "Even couples completely committed

549. "to the idea of parenthood

550. "should carefully examine their lives

551. "to see if they're up to the responsibility of children.

552. "Mothers and fathers of today are often busy professionals

553. "and may not understand

554. "the impact a little one is going to have

555. on already chaotic lives."

556. (Lois) 'Oh!'

557. 'Oh, it's okay.'

558. It's okay, sweethearts.

559. 'Little Lois..'

560. 'Little Clark..'

561. Oh, Jimmy, oh, Jimmy, not you, too.

562. Hi, honey. How's it going?

563. Oh, Clark, I'm so glad you're home.

564. The twins are hungry, and Jimmy needs burping

565. and I've got the queen of England here for an interview.

566. The queen? Great.

567. Raising kids sure is a piece of cake, isn't it?

568. (Lois) 'Oh, your highness!'

569. Ah, well, thank you for waiting

570. and thank you so much for feeding little Perry.

571. Um, could I offer you some tea?

572. Jimmy's so cute. He just spit up his Pablum.

573. Is he sick?

574. Uh, about your speech to parliament.

575. Does he feel warm?

576. No, no, he just wants a bottle.

577. Oh, no, Martha and Jonathan are all upset.

578. Honey, did I tell you the pope's here?

579. No, you didn't tell me that the pope is here..

580. The pope is here?

581. How could I schedule the pope and the queen on the same day?

582. Oh... prison riot.

583. - How about if I go? - Ha ha ha!

584. Can you manage? I'll just be a sec.

585. Hi, your highness, uh, holiness.

586. I really appreciate your burping Sam and Ellen.

587. Or-or are those Lucy and Lana?

588. Oh, no. No, these are Lucy and Lana.

589. So, about your speech yesterday, did you feel that..

590. Oh, I forgot to warm the bottle.

591. Thank you, your holiness.

592. Uh, your highness.

593. Actually, I-I forgot to warm this bottle.

594. You're a busy woman, was it like this for you with Andrew

595. and Anne and Charles—

596. 'Ta-rum ta-da!'

597. Ha ha ha! Hi!

598. Oh, I'm so glad you're back.

599. Oh... buffalo stampede.

600. Buffalo stampede?

601. Oh!

602. Would you look at the little nipper?

603. Flying already.

604. Boy, this really is a piece of cake, huh?

605. Oh, they're still crying.

606. I'd better take them.

607. Oh, it's okay, Lois, it's okay, Clark.

608. How's it going out there, your holiness?

609. I better go check on the Pope.

610. It's a piece of cake.

611. A really big piece of cake.

612. (Leslie) 'Hello, Lois, uh, it's Leslie Luckabee calling.'

613. Leslie, wait! Hi, it's Lois.

614. Oh, I'm sorry to phone you so late, Lois.

615. I do hope I'm not disturbing you and Clark?

616. Oh, no, no.

617. Actually, uh, Clark's not home.

618. Really?

619. Well, the reason I called is because

620. I think I've come up with a terrific plan

621. on how to stop Vixen.

622. - You did? - 'Yes.'

623. 'And I was hoping to persuade you and Clark'

624. to come down to "The Planet" right away

625. so I could go over it with the both of you.

626. Now? Why?

627. Well, maybe I've acted impulsively, but you see

628. I've already put the plan into motion.

629. I didn't have a choice.

630. The only way it was going to work is

631. if I moved on it quickly.

632. Well, what's the plan?

633. Well, it's really too complicated to explain

634. over the phone, but the bottom line is, Lois

635. I'm gonna need yours and Clark's help to pull it off.

636. Now, I realize this is an imposition, but uh..

637. I'd consider it a personal favor

638. if the both of you would just hear me out.

639. Okay. I'll be down there as soon as I can.

640. (Leslie) 'Terrific. Thanks.'

641. Copyboy!

642. Copyboy!

643. Run this down immediately, I want it to make

644. the morning edition.

645. Okay.

646. Hey!

647. I don't care what anybody says.

648. Nobody wrote an opera like Puccini.

649. I want to kill Superman.

650. Not an opera lover, I see.

651. That was my failing.

652. I should've educated you.

653. He's an obstacle to my mission to eradicate evil.

654. I want to kill him.

655. An admirable desire, to be sure, Vixen

656. but a bit premature, I'm afraid.

657. By the way, where have you been?

658. I was starting to get worried.

659. There were children playing in front of the secret entrance.

660. I had to wait for them to leave.

661. You should've killed them.

662. But they were not evil.

663. Just checking.

664. Wanted to make sure you were still on the program.

665. 'And to that end..'

666. I picked up an early copy of the morning paper.

667. I found our next target.

668. I don't understand.

669. That's Leslie Luckabee.

670. You wanted me to save him last time.

671. Why do you want me to eradicate him now?

672. Because now we know he's an evil man

673. and your mission is to eradicate evil men

674. isn't it?

675. Absolutely.

676. Lois?

677. Honey?

678. Lois?

679. I'm home.

680. (Leslie) 'Hello, Lois, uh, it's Leslie Luckabee calling.'

681. (Lois) 'Leslie, wait! Hi, it's Lois.'

682. Hmm.

683. Well, what do you think?

684. Honestly?

685. I think it's dangerous.

686. Hello.

687. Clark, hi!

688. I was getting worried about you.

689. Why didn't you tell me you were here?

690. Clark!

691. But-but how did you—

692. - Ah, oh, cell phone. - Oh.

693. I left you a note, on the coffee table.

694. - You did? - 'Oh.'

695. I'm afraid that this is all my fault.

696. You see, I'm the one that co-opted

697. your lovely wife for the evening.

698. It's no big deal. I'm just glad you're okay.

699. Well, it's perfectly understandable.

700. Listen, if she were my wife

701. I'd probably never let her out of my sight.

702. You, uh... work out a lot, don't you?

703. Clark, um, Leslie's come up with a plan to catch Vixen

704. but he needs our help implementing it.

705. However, this may all be moot if Superman's already located her.

706. Uh, from what I understand

707. Superman hasn't located her just yet.

708. I-I just spoke to him before I got here.

709. Hmm. Well, then, I hope this works.

710. Have you seen this morning's edition?

711. 'It implicates Leslie in a multimillion-dollar'

712. 'embezzlement scheme.'

713. Yes. My first byline.

714. - Too bad it's fiction. - What?

715. That's part of the plan to make it appear

716. as if he's as dirty as the other CEOs

717. so that Vixen will grab him next.

718. Baiting the hook, as it were. You know.

719. How do you know that Vixen won't just, kill you?

720. (Lois) 'Well, that's where we come in.'

721. He wants Superman to follow her wherever she takes him

722. and then he can stop her once and for all.

723. Yes, the only hitch, of course, is whether or not

724. Superman will be able to

725. keep up with her.

726. Well, we could get Dr. Klein

727. to rig up a transmitter to track Leslie.

728. That way, Superman would definitely

729. know where to find him.

730. Now, all I have to do is hope

731. that Superman will be able to defeat Vixen.

732. Of course, if he can't

733. well... then..

734. we're all in a lot of trouble, aren't we?

735. Mr. Luckabee, you realize, of course

736. that if Vixen snatches you up at super speed

737. that you may not survive?

738. I'm willing to take that risk.

739. Why?

740. I-I mean..

741. Why are you willing to put yourself in such danger?

742. I like challenges.

743. It's all clear.

744. Now, then..

745. The evil Mr. Luckabee

746. should be emerging from the "Daily Planet"

747. in less than two minutes.

748. You'll have to time it just right to..

749. Are you alright?

750. Well..

751. To be truthful, I'm not feeling all that well

752. at the moment.

753. I don't like the light, you see.

754. I'm uncomfortable above ground.

755. Why?

756. You could never understand.

757. - Why not? - 'Because..'

758. You're a perfect being, Vixen.

759. It's beyond your realm.

760. You weren't a child raised in seclusion

761. reared by servants behind walls.

762. Just a lonely, disfigured troll

763. hidden from the world

764. by embarrassed parents who couldn't look at me

765. even in my one good eye.

766. There.

767. 'You happy?'

768. Wanna mock me?

769. Make fun of me?

770. Go ahead.

771. 'I'm used to it.'

772. Just get on with your mission.

773. Get Luckabee.

774. You understand?

775. Yes.

776. 'But remember..'

777. Superman may be onto you by now.

778. If he is..

779. and he tries to stop you..

780. '... you know what to do.'

781. Destroy him?

782. That's right.

783. Now go!

784. Make me happy.

785. (Clark) 'Pretty brave thing he's doing, I'll give him that.'

786. But?

787. I don't know.

788. There's just something about the guy..

789. I don't trust, I guess.

790. Really?

791. I don't see it.

792. He's been nothing but complimentary to you.

793. To both of us.

794. Plus he's putting his life on the line.

795. You see, that's exactly my point.

796. He's putting his life on the line for what

797. a headline?

798. He just, seems a little bit too good to be true that's all.

799. Well, I know some people that would say that about you.

800. Like who?

801. Like me.

802. I'm not complaining, though.

803. Mmm.

804. You know, when all this is over

805. I'm gonna call Dr. Klein.

806. Make that appointment, you know, for..

807. Superman, to check and see if..

808. Good.

809. Kind of scary, huh?

810. It never occurred to me that we might not

811. be able to have babies together.

812. Well, maybe we'll have super babies.

813. - Who knows? - Yeah.

814. What if we can't?

815. I mean, I don't even know if I want to have kids.

816. I just assumed we would have that option.

817. Lois.

818. I married you because I love you

819. not because we may or may not be able

820. to have children together.

821. And besides, there's always the adoption option

822. and it worked out pretty good for me.

823. Yeah, that's true.

824. Oop, oops, here he comes.

825. Okay, it stopped.

826. In an alley by the corner of Fifth and Troy.

827. Alright, I'm on my way.

828. Be careful.

829. Alright.

830. Hello, Vixen.

831. You and I need to talk

832. 'cause you're going about this all wrong.

833. You can't stop me.

834. Your only way out... is through me.

835. I've been looking forward to this.

836. Me too.

837. Two out of three?

838. Alright, Vixen, enough of the games.

839. Playtime is over. Let's just..

840. You're a machine?

841. - You okay? - Yeah, I..

842. Oh, wow. What happened? What happened?

843. Vixen's... gone.

844. Looks like your plan worked, Mr. Luckabee.

845. No, I don't feel like a hero at all.

846. I was just the decoy.

847. Superman is the real hero.

848. He's the one who saved Metropolis from Vixen's wrath

849. 'with a big assist'

850. 'from Lois Lane and Clark Kent, I might add.'

851. By the way, look for their exclusive

852. in tomorrow's edition of the "Daily Planet."

853. Thank you. No more questions.

854. Still don't trust him?

855. Oh, I don't know.

856. 'You know, what's really bugging me..'

857. is Vixen.

858. I mean, she was at least partially robotic

859. albeit a highly sophisticated one with superpowers

860. but it still means that somebody built her.

861. Begging the question

862. who... and why?

863. Someone wouldn't go through all that trouble

864. just to make a vigilante.

865. There's got to be more to it than that.

866. Well, I think ridding the world of the evil Vixen

867. was enough work for one day.

868. We can wait till tomorrow to find out who created her.

869. - Mm-hmm. - That alright?

870. Mmm.

871. - Honey? - Hmm?

872. Honey.

873. What about precautions?

874. Oh, right.

875. - Should I— - Oh, no, no, no.

876. No, uh... I got it.

877. Vixen, of course, was magnificent.

878. The best $500 million we ever spent

879. as far as I'm concerned.

880. She fulfilled the primary objective flawlessly..

881. to take revenge

882. on those traitorous CEOs.

883. Then make you look like a hero

884. by helping to defeat her.

885. No small obstacle for a man who in reality is..

886. The son of Lex Luthor.

887. And once Lexcorp has been rebuilt

888. cementing your stranglehold on Metropolis

889. we move to the final phase of the plan.

890. Lex Luthor's ultimate revenge.

891. To possess Lois Lane.

892. And destroy Superman.
