1. My name is Prometheus.

2. Some of you may have heard of me. Don't worry if you haven't.

3. All you need to know for now is I'm a prisoner.

4. Why?

5. Because I know too much about a certain person.

6. - This is where he lives.

7. Power can give a man many things.

8. Taste is rarely one of them.

9. Look at that walk.

10. Extraordinary.

11. Anyway, his name...

12. Yeah.

13. Blessed Olympia.

14. Mortals.

15. Uh, today is a holy day... upon which you honor me.

16. Do you do that... well?

17. Yes.

18. You do, but you shouldn't. He's a transcendent, unmitigated bastard.

19. But don't worry. There's a plan to bring him down.

20. The plan involves three humans and a prophecy.

21. - The first human lives here on Earth.

22. In Krete, to be exact.

23. This is Eurydice.

24. She prefers Riddy.

25. She has no idea of the part she has to play in Zeus's downfall.

26. What am I doing, Dennis? Hmm?

27. What's wrong with me?

28. You don't give a fuck, do you?

29. Right now, she has other things on her mind.

30. "Matters of the heart," I think you call them.

31. Can't decide?

32. Uh...

33. No, actually, it's... it's not for me.

34. My husband asked me for something specific,

35. but I can't remember what he said.

36. I wasn't listening to him.

37. Is that... bad?

38. Am I a... a bad person?

39. You're okay.

40. But that's not a smile.

41. - That's a scream. What?

42. This is a customer announcement.

43. Toy tridents are now half-price.

44. Welcome to Olympia Day celebrations in Krete.

45. First up, the annual human sacrifice.

46. Vero.

47. - Following this, President Minos... Excuse me? Ma'am?

48. Did you want that as well?

49. The pomegranate?

50. Yeah. Sorry. Thank you.

51. Happy Olympia.

52. - Sure.

53. Get off, please! Get off! Then quit strugglin'!

54. Get off me! Let go! Get off me!

55. Get off! Get off!

56. - What are you doing? - She's a thief.

57. Everyone's a thief.

58. - What did she take? - Cat food.

59. Everyone steals.

60. Even the gods steal. Especially the gods. They're stealing our souls.

61. So you're blaspheming now too. Lies!

62. - It's my fault. I will pay for that. - Nobody wants to know!

63. Why won't anyone listen?

64. - Can I just... I will pay for it. - I tell you, but nobody listens.

65. - Thank you. - She's all yours.

66. Mm. - Are you okay?

67. Nobody believes a word I say, but it all comes true.

68. I told them about the horse.

69. I told them about the men hidden inside.

70. - I told them.

71. I told them.

72. Hey! Hey!

73. Stealing our souls.

74. Who are you?

75. Today's the day.

76. What are you talking about?

77. Every morning, you think, "Maybe today, maybe today."

78. And you never do it.

79. But today you will.

80. Will what?

81. Leave him.

82. Your love is dead.

83. What the fuck?

84. "Please, Zeus, water our crops."

85. "Please, Zeus, make it rain."

86. - Happy Olympia!

87. You're welcome!

88. What the...

89. - Don't do that. - What are you doing?

90. Take a look at this. Does this look the same to you?

91. Well, yes.

92. - No, really look at it. Look at... Yeah. - It...

93. The Meander is a divine structure.

94. - As long as it flows, Zeus reigns.

95. I thought I saw, like, a blip.

96. It looks completely normal.

97. - Are you sure? - Yes.

98. - Same as it ever was? - Yes.

99. - Did you take it in? - I did.

100. - Okay. You're sure? - Yes.

101. Breakfast.

102. Mm.

103. - Hey, where is our son, by the way?

104. Your son? No idea.

105. Do you like your job?

106. - Very much. Mm.

107. - I'm bored of mine. What do you do?

108. I work for my dad. But he doesn't take me seriously.

109. I could do more with the humans.

110. - Huh? - The... people.

111. I'm good with them. I like them.

112. I just want to get more involved.

113. I want more responsibility.

114. You mean like moving to HR or something?

115. HR, exactly. Yes.

116. Well, tell him how you feel.

117. Yeah, it doesn't really work like that with him.

118. He doesn't really do emotions.

119. Oh shit. I need to get him a present.

120. Oh, it's his birthday?

121. Uh, yeah. Kind of. But what do I get him? The guy has everything.

122. You know the most special thing my son ever gave me?

123. - Huh? - What?

124. A watch.

125. Because time together is precious. Huh?

126. - That's beautiful.

127. Dionysus is unusual.

128. His mother was mortal, but Zeus had made him a full god.

129. Hmph. Oh, you made it.

130. Well, great.

131. Which had irritated people.

132. Hello. Hey.

133. In fact, Hera had turned Dionysus's mother into a bee.

134. Would you like some honey?

135. Mm. Hey. Hey, guys.

136. They're... they're just about to unveil this monument to us in Krete.

137. Well, after this part.

138. Oh, I love this part.

139. And here, we have Agatha of Heraklion,

140. a consenting human sacrifice, willing to die in the name of Olympus.

141. Agatha.

142. Thank you, Agatha.

143. Boy, check out Agatha's ugly shoes.

144. Oh, yeah. Dad, um... I got you a present.

145. You did?

146. What?

147. Oh my golly.

148. Oh, you dear boy.

149. - You dear... - Open it, open it, open it.

150. - Oh, it's a watch.

151. Yeah, because, uh, time spent together is precious.

152. Well put.

153. Yes, but, you know, I already have a watch.

154. And this one's from our... our good pal Hercules.

155. It's kind of a, you know, a talisman. Kind of a... kind of a lucky charm.

156. Well, this one's from me, Dad.

157. So, uh, why don't you try it on?

158. Try it on? Yeah, try it on.

159. Okay.

160. Mm-hmm.

161. Erm... um...

162. Yeah.

163. Uh, no. No?

164. Nope.

165. Sorry.

166. Um, ball boy?

167. Yeah, could you, uh, place this very carefully

168. next to that marvelous pig that they just sent from Athens?

169. - Don't brood.

170. There you go.

171. They... Hey, hey.

172. Don't do that with your chair.

173. - Don't do it.

174. Dad, I need to talk to you.

175. Yeah, tell me.

176. - I'm bored. - Hey. Hang on.

177. You see this President Minos?

178. Citizens of Krete, Blessed Olympia...

179. He is a bozo.

180. You know?

181. No. No, Dad. I... I'm being serious. I want a promotion.

182. Just make me the god of love, or... or, uh, war. Wisdom.

183. I don't know. Something serious. Something proper with influence.

184. Mm.

185. What?

186. Oh, come on, Dionysus.

187. There's nothing wrong with being slightly lightweight.

188. Everyone has their place.

189. - Suck a dick. Hey. Hey.

190. You do not tell your mother to suck a dick.

191. She's not my mother.

192. Apologize.

193. No.

194. Sh...

195. - Apologize.

196. Sorry.

197. Forgiven.

198. I give up.

199. - Don't be a brat. Sit. Sit. Mm.

200. Try being a little bit nice.

201. It's right in your name, "Dio-nice-us."

202. Look how formal...

203. This is a lovely... This is a lovely affair. Every year.

204. Oh.

205. I must say, I'm gettin' choked up.

206. - Just watching this, it's so sweet— - Hey.

207. No wonder I'm the only kid that visits you.

208. He's a disappointment.

209. No...

210. - Where did I go wrong with him? Oh, darling, you didn't.

211. I did. 'Cause he's right. None of 'em are comin' home.

212. Darling, you have me.

213. For you know that labor for them is never in vain.

214. Here we go. Okay!

215. - A monument dedicated to our gods. - Come on. Show me.

216. - Blessed Olympia.

217. Give it to me. Give it to me.

218. What is that?

219. Who did this? Zeus...

220. Who did this?

221. That's not what I think it is, is it?

222. - Is that shit? Who has desecrated the gods?

223. Who has defied my family?

224. - "Fuck the gods"? Zeus...

225. "Fuck the gods"?

226. That's blasphemy. Zeus, calm down.

227. - Human... not today.

228. - On this day? Zeus...

229. Oh no.

230. No, no.

231. I'm gonna wipe these fuckers right off the face of the fuckin' Earth—

232. No, you're not. We have talked about this.

233. Power is delegation.

234. These are just a few blasphemers. It's beneath you.

235. Just call Poseidon.

236. - I myself— - No.

237. Zeus, you're king of the gods.

238. You're the king of the gods.

239. Humans are not a threat to you.

240. Hey.

241. You okay?

242. Well, do you want the good news or the bad news?

243. Bad, always bad.

244. I think I got the wrong cereal.

245. But...

246. What?

247. The good news is...

248. this one comes with a toy.

249. - Okay, that is good. Mm.

250. Very good.

251. What song were you playing... just now?

252. Why? Did you like it?

253. Mm-hmm.

254. 'Cause I think it sent Dennis to sleep.

255. Dennis? Where is Dennis?

256. I'm gonna open with it at the palace.

257. If they clear the shit off the monument in time.

258. - What? Did you not see the news?

259. The monument at the palace.

260. That's right. No, I did. I saw it.

261. They're saying it was the Trojans.

262. - Mm. Good for them. Yep.

263. Anyway, I missed you like crazy this morning.

264. I don't like it when you're not here.

265. What's it called?

266. - The, uh, song. - What's up, buddy?

267. - Psst.

268. The song, Orpheus?

269. "Eurydice."

270. What?

271. My name? I already...

272. - I... I did the poster. I... I thought you liked the poster.

273. - Oh shit. You don't like it? - I... No, I...

274. Uh, it's just that...

275. What?

276. I don't know. Can't you... you just love me quietly?

277. Well...

278. No.

279. Uh, is... is that so bad?

280. No.

281. Riddy?

282. Riddy...

283. What's wrong?

284. There's no loneliness quite like that

285. with someone you're falling out of love with.

286. Especially when that person doesn't know it yet.

287. Today's the day.

288. Riddy doesn't want it to be the day.

289. - She isn't brave enough.

290. Hmm?

291. Not yet, anyway.

292. - Ah. Shit. - Mm.

293. Hi. Yeah. Sorry. Sorry.

294. Five minutes.

295. Sorry. Sorry.

296. Whoops.

297. Mm.

298. Go. Go, go, go.

299. Hello?

300. Hello? I know you see me here, standing here.

301. Sorry, Calli. - Open the door.

302. - Come on in. - Thank you. My god.

303. - When you're late, you bring on my asthma. - I love you.

304. - Hey, Cal. - Hey. There's a car coming for you.

305. - Um, I'll just get a taxi. What?

306. - A taxi? - Yeah. Do you remember those?

307. No. No, I already booked it.

308. - Sorry. - Oh. Okay.

309. Uh, you will be there, won't you?

310. - What? - Tonight.

311. - Yes. Of course I will. - Okay. And, oh yeah.

312. - I love you.

313. Yeah, love you too. Let's go. That's wonderful.

314. - So, we're wearing black? That's— Yes.

315. Okay. I like it.

316. Come on, Zeus. Come on.

317. She's right.

318. You're the king of the gods.

319. King of the gods.

320. King...

321. of the goddamn g—

322. What the...

323. What the fuck... is this?

324. The fuck is this?

325. And so it begins.

326. That's me, by the way.

327. - Whoa! Hi.

328. Am I likeable?

329. He says to the person whose liver he has pecked out every day by an eagle.

330. Are you what?

331. Am I likeable?

332. Do people like me?

333. Do they not seem to... to take to me?

334. What are you talking about?

335. Do you remember that on all Olympia Days past,

336. we would barbecue?

337. The whole gang. All of us would be dancin' around the Meander.

338. - Yeah. - The kids would make beautiful toasts.

339. And I'd be performing our celestial intercourse,

340. bathed by moonlight, makin' memories.

341. Every year.

342. - What's that, uh... Do you see this thing here?

343. - Oh, come on. - Come on. This prophecy.

344. Zeus— - I think... I think it's comin' to pass.

345. It's happening. Read it.

346. - I know what it says— - I said read it.

347. Please.

348. "A line appears, the order wanes,

349. the family falls, and kaos reigns."

350. "A line appears."

351. You see this?

352. You see this wrinkle right here?

353. That... This vertical wrinkle? No, no, no.

354. - That's the line.

355. I discovered it just now.

356. I'm supposed to be immortal.

357. What is that? Aging?

358. Zeus— - What's next? A dip in bone density?

359. - Gum recession? - Zeus.

360. A necessity for the daily stewed prune?

361. "The order wanes," that's what it says.

362. Oh, my friend, I'm waning. I'm waning.

363. The humans act like they think so. They're blaspheming.

364. They just, um... desecrated my monument.

365. They want to topple me.

366. This morning, know what I saw in the Meander?

367. - What? - A blip.

368. I have given the sweat off of my balls to this family for too many fuckin' years

369. to just sit by and watch the family fall.

370. Prometheus, you were there. You know.

371. You've seen what I've had to go through with my dad.

372. That fuckin' psychopath.

373. - Yeah.

374. Should I not be fretting that this whole family

375. that I've built may crumble, that it may be destroyed?

376. Please say something.

377. - Something. - Zeus, come on.

378. You're king of the gods. Nothing can harm you.

379. The prophecy cannot come to pass. Prophecies are for humans.

380. And that's not a new wrinkle.

381. The Meander doesn't blip.

382. The monument is just Poseidon being lazy, as per, and not keeping his city in order.

383. You cannot be destroyed.

384. Thank you.

385. Thank you, sweet friend.

386. You're very welcome.

387. An unsavory old coot.

388. But I love him.

389. Uh, he's... he's my only friend in the world.

390. Isn't that a remarkable thing?

391. Okay.

392. I'm lying to Zeus.

393. The prophecy can come to pass. He can absolutely be destroyed.

394. - If people open their eyes... he will be. - "Lightweight"?

395. "Lightweight"? How am I lightweight? How is this lightweight?

396. Anyone found harboring the Trojan 7 will be arrested.

397. They're terrorists and blasphemers. Do not protect them.

398. Fuck the gods!

399. What the... fuck?

400. Stay down! Fuckin' Trojan scum!

401. - Do you have any cigarettes? - I quit.

402. - Mm. Good for you. - As should you.

403. As I will!

404. You know, I went to sessions at the temple.

405. I think I might have a leaflet...

406. Back in a second.

407. somewhere for you. What?

408. Hey!

409. Don't go anywhere!

410. Crazy. He's a crazy person.

411. Twenty Boreas, please.

412. That's fine.

413. Hey!

414. It's you, isn't it?

415. Maybe?

416. Oh shit! Shit.

417. Shit!

418. Sign my head, please?

419. Yeah. Sure.

420. Mm.

421. I love you.

422. I love you too.

423. Hey!

424. Come here!

425. That's Orpheus!

426. - Fuckin' Orpheus! Oh, oh! Whoa!

427. Whoo!

428. Yeah.

429. It can be cruel, the gap between perception and reality.

430. Can you stop up here, please?

431. - Oh, good luck. Huge fan.

432. That's Ari. Remember her. She's important. We'll come back to her.

433. - Thank you. Mm.

434. He doesn't trust me. He doesn't value me.

435. And that's what this all comes down to.

436. I'm gonna show him what I'm capable of.

437. What's your name?

438. Uh... um, Julius.

439. You want my advice, Julius?

440. Sure.

441. Find a purpose for yourself, not your father.

442. Here.

443. Hey. Five minutes.

444. Is Riddy here?

445. - I need her here, Calli. - Uh, yeah, yeah. She... she just got here.

446. Right.

447. Wait here. I won't be long. I'll pull around.

448. Excuse me? - Yeah?

449. I request a divulgence with the tacita.

450. Now?

451. Yeah. Now.

452. Humans visit tacitas

453. to divulge their darkest thoughts and feelings,

454. not knowing that their confessions are kept by Hera.

455. They give her power. Forgive me. I have been unfaithful.

456. Again. What's the matter with me?

457. And they soothe her absent heart.

458. I hated him. I wished him dead.

459. Mm.

460. Behold, the tacita.

461. May speech to the wordless give you comfort.

462. May the goddess Hera cradle you in your mortal pain.

463. Vero.

464. Hi, Mom.

465. - How are you?

466. Blessed Olympia.

467. May we submit to the gods and honor them.

468. Vero.

469. Controversially, I'm starting with something completely new.

470. It's for the person who, uh... who completes me.

471. Saves me, repeatedly.

472. She hates it when I say that, but it's true.

473. - She's here somewhere.

474. Riddy!

475. - I love you with all my heart.

476. I don't love Orpheus anymore.

477. I should, but... I don't.

478. I'm not myself anymore. I'm his. His wife. His muse.

479. I need to leave him.

480. But I can't.

481. You know why?

482. Because of you.

483. You know, I, um...

484. I really used to think you'd change your mind.

485. When I was small, I, uh... I prayed.

486. Prayed to Hera to give you back to me.

487. It took me, what?

488. Ten years to realize you were never coming home?

489. Did you ever miss me?

490. Did you?

491. Please, can you just tell me what to do?

492. Please?

493. I know my prophecy, Mom.

494. And I don't want that. I... I want your help.

495. What I want.

496. They don't care, you know? The gods.

497. You gave me up for them.

498. You cut out your tongue for them, and they don't care about you.

499. They don't give a shit about any of us.

500. So I say fuck them.

501. Did you hear me? I defy them.

502. I defy the gods.

503. Oh, shut up.

504. Bye, Mom.

505. Hey!

506. I told you you'd leave him today.

507. You leave everyone today.

508. One thing you should know about prophecies...

509. no two are ever the same.

510. Supposedly.

511. "A line appears..."

512. Ah. There it is. There it is.

513. There it isn't.

514. Oh, fuck.

515. I...

516. Sorry.

517. I, um...

518. Hades, Lord of Death, we offer you this charm...

519. Fuck.

520. I can't do this.

521. Can you? Please. Sorry.

522. Hades, Lord of Death, we offer you this mortal, Eurydice.

523. Accept her coin and grant her safe passage through the Frame.

524. Bless her glorious transition,

525. the Renewal of all human souls.

526. May Eurydice's be glorious.

527. In the name of Olympus, we pray.

528. Vero.

529. Vero.

530. Dionysus has found his purpose.

531. Helping Orpheus.
