1. (Gossip girl) Gossip girl
here—your one and only sourceCopy !req
2. into the scandalous lives
of Manhattan's elite.
I really think we should
cool things off for a while,Copy !req
3. you know, take a—
take a little break?Copy !req
4. We did say no strings.
Right. No strings.Copy !req
5. You either tell me the truth,
or we're over.
I'm Rufus and Lily's son.Copy !req
6. Georgina, hey.
I'll be there in a second.Copy !req
7. (Mouth full) Things were so much
easier when we were younger.Copy !req
8. We just jumped into things. Why
can't we just be more like that?Copy !req
9. Marry me, Lily.Copy !req
10. The next time you forget
you're Blair Waldorf,Copy !req
11. remember I'm Chuck bass,
and i love you.Copy !req
12. Scott, what's going on?
I haven't told you the truth.
I'm your son's brother.Copy !req
13. If you're looking for the first
excuse to bolt, trust me,Copy !req
14. you're gonna find one.
(Serena) I'm not looking
for an excuse anymore.Copy !req
15. I didn't really give you
a chance to knowCopy !req
16. both sides of me, and I'm
wondering if you still want to.
I don't even knowCopy !req
17. why I'm pretending to think
about it. Yes. Yes, of course.
This is your fault.Copy !req
18. That's not fair.
Not fair? I go away
to take care of my mother,Copy !req
19. and i come back and my daughter
is not going to college.
I'm headed home to face
the family firing squad.Copy !req
20. Considering what you did to us,
being able to find you isCopy !req
21. gonna go a long way.
Go ahead and run if you want.Copy !req
22. You know how much daddy
loves to hunt.Copy !req
23. And who am i?Copy !req
24. That's a secret
I'll never tell.Copy !req
25. You know you love me.Copy !req
26. X.O.X.O., gossip girl.Copy !req
27. some say love is a river...Copy !req
28. Some say love's a silly song...Copy !req
29. Some say love is
all around us...Copy !req
30. it lifts us
up where we belong...Copy !req
31. some say love is hearing
laughter in the rain...Copy !req
32. but on the Upper East Side,Copy !req
33. we all know love is pain.Copy !req
34. toasted blueberry?
You spoil me.Copy !req
35. Dorota offered to make eggs,Copy !req
36. but i thought it was the duty
of the devoted lover to provide.Copy !req
37. I missed you.Copy !req
38. Yeah, you showed me just how
much when i got in last night.Copy !req
39. So how was your trip?Copy !req
40. Did you get your money back
from your poker buddy?
No. And i would have
let it slide,Copy !req
41. but with my parents
cutting me off...
Trust me. I get it.Copy !req
42. Working for k.C. Is
nowhere near as lucrativeCopy !req
43. as being Lily bass' daughter.Copy !req
44. For now, toaster pastries
are all i can afford.Copy !req
45. So go. Talk to her...
For me.Copy !req
46. Fine.Copy !req
47. But then you have to do
something for me.Copy !req
48. Take my place at dim sum
with my friends.
Dumplings
with Blair and Chuck?Copy !req
49. And Nate.
You can do some recon.
- (Laughs)Copy !req
50. Blair hates
Nate's new girlfriend.Copy !req
51. You can find out
if she's really that bad.Copy !req
52. I bet Bree is perfectly nice,
even though she is a Buckley.Copy !req
53. Um, unfortunately,Copy !req
54. i-i do have more, um, people
who owe me money to talk to.Copy !req
55. Fine.Copy !req
56. Eat up.Copy !req
57. one second. I'm telling Olivia
to say hi to Godzilla from me.Copy !req
58. (Chuckles)
It's funny, right?Copy !req
59. More so than
your awful Sushi puns.Copy !req
60. Well, I'm a terrible
i.M. Flirter,Copy !req
61. but as long as Olivia's
on this Asian press tour,Copy !req
62. i have—i have no choice.
And anyway, you know,Copy !req
63. "sashimi later" is charming.
Why are you using
my screen name again?Copy !req
64. Because every time i log on,
Georgina pounces on my i.M.Copy !req
65. I broke up with her. I don't
know how much more clearCopy !req
66. about my feelings i can be.
You could tell her
you're dating someone else.Copy !req
67. We all live on the same floor,
Dan.Copy !req
68. When she gets back,
she's gonna figure it out.
Point taken.
I'll e-mail her later.Copy !req
69. You talked to Scott at all?
I called him last week,
but he hasn't called me back.Copy !req
70. I guess he didn't like me
that much.Copy !req
71. Really?
It didn't seem like that.Copy !req
72. I'm sorry. I mean,
i know you really liked him.Copy !req
73. I did, too, actually,
i guess,Copy !req
74. 'cause in a weird way,
we were kind of related.
(Cell phone beeps)Copy !req
75. You know, I'm gonna hit
the bleecker.Copy !req
76. Do—do you want a coffee?
No, no, no. You go.Copy !req
77. Oh. The—the toilets in Tokyo
talk.Copy !req
78. Hi. Um, I'll have
a nonfat latte.
- Sure.Copy !req
79. Hi. Did you miss me?Copy !req
80. Georgina.Copy !req
81. (Blair) The bloodsucker
is back.Copy !req
82. I saw her coffinCopy !req
83. and telltale Louis vuitton broom
on the floor.Copy !req
84. (Nate chuckles) Vampires
don't ride brooms, Blair.
Leave it to Georgina
to start a mutant strain.Copy !req
85. You know, my roommate and i
didn't see eye to eye at first,Copy !req
86. so one night i bought
ice cream cone cupcakesCopy !req
87. from the treats truck,
and we bonded.Copy !req
88. She taught me how to say "hello"
in Swahili. Jambo.Copy !req
89. Aw. Do you happen to know
what the Swahili isCopy !req
90. for "mind your own beeswax"?
No reason, of course.Copy !req
91. It just might be useful
someday on safari.
Blair, come on.Copy !req
92. (Clears throat) So, Bree,
you went home last week?
Yeah. Tried to mend the I'm-
dating-a-Van Der bilt fence.Copy !req
93. It didn't work.Copy !req
94. We're Southern, so family
loyalty's really big down there.
Like slavery.Copy !req
95. What? I'm joking.Copy !req
96. You know I'm joking,
right, Bree?Copy !req
97. So what's Serena doing?
She still dating BaizenCopy !req
98. or she come
to her senses yet?
Carter Baizen? Is he in town?Copy !req
99. I-i-i heard he was away
on business.
He is.
Traveling is so important.Copy !req
100. Bree, have you ever thought
about traveling...Copy !req
101. Somewhere very far away?
I wasn't aware
you knew Carter.Copy !req
102. Yeah. Our families used to
vacation together on sea island.Copy !req
103. I've been trying
to track him down.Copy !req
104. You guys mind
if i order for the table?Copy !req
105. She was in Shanghai
last year.
(Bree giggles)Copy !req
106. Nate doesn't like tofu
when it's called bean curd,Copy !req
107. and he hasn't eaten pork
since he saw "babe," with me.Copy !req
108. Well, okay, um, I'll let
you guys fend for yourself.Copy !req
109. Hmm?
- If you'll excuse me.Copy !req
110. Blair.
- What?Copy !req
111. I'll go apologize
for my girlfriend.Copy !req
112. So you're happy
with Chuck.Copy !req
113. Don't i deserve
to be happy as well?Copy !req
114. Trust me, Nate.Copy !req
115. I know women,
and none of us are that nice.Copy !req
116. He'll be back soon.Copy !req
117. (Scoffs) He's in love.Copy !req
118. You're looking for Carter?Copy !req
119. The worm is dating
my stepsister.Copy !req
120. Look, if he's done something
to you, i need to know.Copy !req
121. Any enemy of Carter's
is a friend of mine.Copy !req
122. I can't really talk
about it,Copy !req
123. but, uh, you should tell
your stepsister to be careful.Copy !req
124. Oh, and, uh,Copy !req
125. if the worm pops
out of the ground,Copy !req
126. let me know, okay?Copy !req
127. That was, by far,
your best wedding—Copy !req
128. the flowers, the foie gras.Copy !req
129. Who would have guessed
nine months later,Copy !req
130. Klaus would have auf'd?Copy !req
131. Well, the worst thing is i
thought he would make me happy.Copy !req
132. I thought all of them would.Copy !req
133. What are you doing here?Copy !req
134. I wanted to clear the air.
I'm sorry.Copy !req
135. I know that you're disappointed
that I'm not going to brown,Copy !req
136. and i know that you're angry
that i left.Copy !req
137. I'm not angry at you,
Serena.Copy !req
138. I should have been here
this SummerCopy !req
139. to help you with the decision
instead of leaving you hereCopy !req
140. with yet another man
who doesn't get it.
Mom,
what are you talking about?Copy !req
141. You and Rufus are
the perfect couple.Copy !req
142. (Sighs) Thank you
for stopping by.Copy !req
143. Hey. Hey, what's going on
with mom and Rufus?
Oh, you didn't know?Copy !req
144. They've been in a cold war
since the day you left.
Over brown?Copy !req
145. Oh, on the surface, yeah,
but i have a feelingCopy !req
146. mom's flipping out
about other things, too.
Yeah, i think they could be
in real trouble.Copy !req
147. Dad, hey.
What are you doing here?Copy !req
148. I've been running.Copy !req
149. You've been running
with jeans on?Copy !req
150. They didn't chafe?Copy !req
151. If you don't mind,Copy !req
152. i-i need to sleep
in my own bed tonight...Copy !req
153. Maybe longer.Copy !req
154. (Cell phone rings)
Dan, hey.Copy !req
155. Yeah, hey, listen.
Um, i know that my dad and LilyCopy !req
156. have been having
a rough go of it lately,Copy !req
157. but, uh, things
may have taken a turn.Copy !req
158. He's spending the night here.Copy !req
159. Oh, no.Copy !req
160. They—they just need
to sit down and talk,Copy !req
161. remind themselves of how much
they love each other,Copy !req
162. before this gets any more
out of hand.Copy !req
163. (Sighs) I-I'm gonna
figure out a way.Copy !req
164. Okay? I-i promise.Copy !req
165. Why won't he respond
to any of my calls or—or textsCopy !req
166. or my animated e-cards?Copy !req
167. Are you serious?Copy !req
168. The last one i sent him was
this adorable singing dog.Copy !req
169. Okay,
Dan didn't write you back,Copy !req
170. because "a,"
he broke up with you,Copy !req
171. "b,"
he's seeing someone else,Copy !req
172. and "c," even though
i tried to defend you,Copy !req
173. you're a full-on crazy person.
Wait. Can we go back to "b"
for a second?Copy !req
174. (Laughs) He can't be
seeing someone else,Copy !req
175. because we just broke up
and...Copy !req
176. Okay.Copy !req
177. Then you're gonna get Dan
to dump her.Copy !req
178. And why in the world
would i do that?Copy !req
179. I didn't visit my family
last week. I was in Boston.Copy !req
180. You know, i met the sweetest
guy. I think you know him.Copy !req
181. Scott rosson?
- Oh, my god.Copy !req
182. He just had so much
on his mind,Copy !req
183. and after several glasses
of wine, slightly enhanced,Copy !req
184. you wouldn't believe
what he told me.
What are you saying, Georgina?Copy !req
185. Get Dan to dump the whore,Copy !req
186. or I'm gonna tell
the whole world Scott's secret.Copy !req
187. And that would be too bad,
because "a,"Copy !req
188. that's the last thing
he wants,Copy !req
189. "b," how do you think
Dan's gonna feelCopy !req
190. when he finds out you've known
his brother's been aliveCopy !req
191. the whole time?Copy !req
192. And "c," who are you
gonna hang out withCopy !req
193. when all the Humphreys
hate you?Copy !req
194. Should we review "b" again?Copy !req
195. Some say love's a secret
you keep sealed.Copy !req
196. But to Georgina sparks,Copy !req
197. love's always a battlefield.Copy !req
198. (Dan) All right,
so what's the emergency?Copy !req
199. Dan, i hate to be the one
to tell you this,Copy !req
200. but according to the, uh,
"star," Olivia's been spottedCopy !req
201. all over Japan canoodling
with... Orlando bloom.
You know, I'm not—
I'm not worried.Copy !req
202. They're apparently
very good friends.Copy !req
203. So, uh, am i on speaker?Copy !req
204. (Mouths words)
Also, uh, "us weekly"
has her on baby bump watch.Copy !req
205. Probably just bloat, but i
thought you'd want to know,Copy !req
206. especially with
the Orlando bloom connection.
Right. Since when do you read
gossip magazines?Copy !req
207. They're Olivia's.
She subscribes to both,Copy !req
208. which also speaks a lot to her
character, don't you think?Copy !req
209. Look, Vanessa,
i don't believe that, obviously,Copy !req
210. and—and neither do you,Copy !req
211. so what are—what are you
trying to tell me here?Copy !req
212. I was thinking, don't you think
that dating a movie starCopy !req
213. is gonna be kind of hard?Copy !req
214. I mean, wouldn't you rather be
with someone... from New York?
(Mouths words)Copy !req
215. Who you have history with?
(Mouths words)
Look, i don't know
if you're jokingCopy !req
216. or if Lenny made brownies
for your floor again,Copy !req
217. but, uh, I'm—I'm kind of
in the middle of something here,Copy !req
218. so, uh, we'll talk later.
All right?Copy !req
219. Well, that was just pathetic.
Haven't you ever triedCopy !req
220. to get somebody to dump
a celebrity before?
- No.Copy !req
221. That's okay.Copy !req
222. Plan "b."Copy !req
223. You're familiar with Photoshop,
i presume.Copy !req
224. (Sighs) This is a great idea,
guys. I needed some family time.Copy !req
225. Let's order.
Uh, no, no.
I'm still deciding.Copy !req
226. Jenny, you've eaten
the same thing hereCopy !req
227. every time since you were 11.
What's going on?
Well, if k.C. Is texting you,
you should go.Copy !req
228. (Serena) I will in a minute.
Well, the three of us
can do family lunch anytime.Copy !req
229. (Lily) Some other...Copy !req
230. You're kidding.
I knew i let you kids
watch "the parent trap"Copy !req
231. too many times.
Y—it's time for you two
to talk.Copy !req
232. (Eric) You love each other.
And it's not Rufus' faultCopy !req
233. that i made the decision
not to to brownCopy !req
234. well, i do love
the bolognese here.Copy !req
235. I can't believe
that actually worked.
I know. I'm a genius,
which doesn't quite explainCopy !req
236. why I'll be spending the day
reorganizing k.C.'S shoe closet.Copy !req
237. (Serena) Gotta go.Copy !req
238. And i know you don't like
to discuss this,Copy !req
239. but he wasn't the cause
of my spiral, just a symptom.Copy !req
240. And he makes Serena
truly happy. (Moans)Copy !req
241. What is this?
It's incredible.Copy !req
242. Buntautuk. I learned it
from a master in chiang mai.Copy !req
243. Serena's deluded.Copy !req
244. The guy's not capable
of genuine feelings.Copy !req
245. He's brought out
a different side of her.Copy !req
246. They're all happy
and domestic,Copy !req
247. nested up at my mother's.
Ohh!Copy !req
248. Carter's at your penthouse?Copy !req
249. Why wouldn't you tell Bree that
when she asked?Copy !req
250. (Moans)
He got in last night.Copy !req
251. She just called me
a couple hours ago.Copy !req
252. Anyway, why would i tell that
future nascar mom anything?Copy !req
253. I hate her and the tractor
she rode in on.Copy !req
254. What you hate is
Nate moving on.Copy !req
255. Look, i love you,Copy !req
256. but Nate liking Bree
doesn't make her a piranha,Copy !req
257. and Serena liking Carter
doesn't make him a prince.Copy !req
258. Hey. Where you going?Copy !req
259. I have tension.Copy !req
260. So maybe I'm crazy,
but i think Vanessa isCopy !req
261. trying to get me
to break up with Olivia.
Ooh. Evidence?Copy !req
262. No, it—it was this tabloid
magazine thing.Copy !req
263. And then she gave me this whole
speech about how she thoughtCopy !req
264. i should be with somebody
i share history with, you know?
Oh, mystery solved.Copy !req
265. Uh, yeah. Duh.
I mean, everyone in the stateCopy !req
266. knows how she feels about you.
That's—no, come on. No,
that was—that was years ago.Copy !req
267. That can't be—
- come on, Dan. Have you ever
seen a romantic comedy?Copy !req
268. This is the scene
right before you chase after herCopy !req
269. and tell her that you can't
believe how blind you wereCopy !req
270. this whole time. You really
like Olivia, though, right?Copy !req
271. Yeah. Yeah, i do.Copy !req
272. Then you better
tell Vanessa that.Copy !req
273. Do you remember
that night at Amherst?Copy !req
274. We just opened for Sonic youth,
and it was pouring rain,Copy !req
275. and we couldn't Bear
another night in the Van.Copy !req
276. Oh, and we sprung for a room
in that quirky little inn.
The skylark.Copy !req
277. You remember.
- Of course i do.
They served us wineCopy !req
278. in "welcome back, kotter" mugs.
I swiped horshack for you.Copy !req
279. (Laughs) Yeah.Copy !req
280. That was a perfect night.Copy !req
281. It was.Copy !req
282. I know we talked
about the Pierre,Copy !req
283. but an inn like the skylarkCopy !req
284. might be a cool place
to get married in.Copy !req
285. No offense, but you've already
done the fancy wedding thing...Copy !req
286. A few times.Copy !req
287. Don't you want to do something
more us?Copy !req
288. Well, yeah,
that's great, Rufus.Copy !req
289. I'm sure that mayor bloomberg
would feel perfectly comfortableCopy !req
290. toasting us withCopy !req
291. a Freddie "boom-boom" Washington
cup.Copy !req
292. That is so you, not us.
I'm sorry. I didn't realize
the mayor was coming.Copy !req
293. I've never even met the man.
Well, there are
certain expectationsCopy !req
294. that come
with being Lily bass.Copy !req
295. You do understand that,
don't you?
- Maybe i don't, because every
time we get to a good place,Copy !req
296. i do or say something
that makes you angry.
Well, that's because
you can't compromise.Copy !req
297. You know what?Copy !req
298. Maybe we aren't ready
to talk.Copy !req
299. Maybe we're not.Copy !req
300. (Dan) Oh, my god.Copy !req
301. Dan. Oh, my god. What are you
doing here? I can explain.Copy !req
302. You know what? It's okay.
It's okay. You can tell me.Copy !req
303. All right? I'm your best friend.
I can handle it.
- You're my best friend, too,
but i don't think i can.Copy !req
304. You know what? I know anyway.
I mean, i think I've knownCopy !req
305. deep down inside
for a couple months now.Copy !req
306. You know, the way
you broke up with Scott...
Yeah, i had to.Copy !req
307. The tabloid thing and the way
you were weirded outCopy !req
308. by me hanging out in
the Hamptons. It's all right.
What? How does that have
anything to do with...Copy !req
309. But i gotta be honest, you know.
I really like Olivia.
Whoa, whoa. Dan, you're
really off base right now.Copy !req
310. And i mean, you know, I've
always cared about you, always.
Stop. Stop. I'm not
in love with you, you moron.Copy !req
311. Georgina's
been blackmailing me.
- What? Why?Copy !req
312. Vanessa. Vanessa, look,
I'm you're best friend.Copy !req
313. You can tell me.
You have to tell me.Copy !req
314. What does she have on you?Copy !req
315. She knows that i know...Copy !req
316. Scott...Copy !req
317. Is your brother.Copy !req
318. (cell phone rings)
(Lily) Rufus?Copy !req
319. Lily, where are you?Copy !req
320. Where are you?
I'm at the loft.Copy !req
321. I-i came to apologize.
I don't know why i got so crazy.
You were right.Copy !req
322. I am never really
gonna understandCopy !req
323. this world
i am now a part of,Copy !req
324. but that doesn't stop me
from loving you. It never has.
I love you, too.Copy !req
325. Well, we can keep asking
each other if we can do this.Copy !req
326. We can keep planning
and talkingCopy !req
327. and adjusting
and talking some more,Copy !req
328. or we can just leap.Copy !req
329. So let's leap.
Let's get married.Copy !req
330. We're already getting married,
Rufus.Copy !req
331. I mean soon. I mean tomorrow.Copy !req
332. We leap.Copy !req
333. Oh, my god.Copy !req
334. Yes.Copy !req
335. We leap.Copy !req
336. Put on those dancing shoes,
kids.Copy !req
337. Looks like we're going
to the chapel.Copy !req
338. The Whitney is a no,
Harvard club a noCopy !req
339. and colicchio laughed in my face
when i asked about craft.
The only time
i want to hear "no"Copy !req
340. is if Ruth madoff wants
an invite.Copy !req
341. Constance crew,
what have you got?
My sister's a florist.
She can handle the flowers.Copy !req
342. Great.
- We've got cake.
My aunt owns a bakery.Copy !req
343. She said she found
a "cancellation."Copy !req
344. Oh, I'm sorry. My family's
in investment banking.Copy !req
345. They're all broke.
Then you can go.Copy !req
346. Dorota.
- I call the Sonic youths.Copy !req
347. They in north Hampton,
will try to make it.Copy !req
348. Acceptable.
Hey, Jenny, you okay?Copy !req
349. You've been working
on that dress all night.Copy !req
350. Yeah. It's like my own
"project runway" challenge.Copy !req
351. Wow.
This is really happening.Copy !req
352. Are you sure you don't need
any help?
- For once, don't worry about
any of the wedding details.Copy !req
353. You work on getting married.
And write those vows.
Oh, i just finished.Copy !req
354. Yeah. Yeah, aunt Irene.
So I'll—I'll see you then?Copy !req
355. Okay. Yeah, the socks
fit perfectly. All right. Bye.Copy !req
356. Don't make me do this.
You know it's only a matter
of time before Georgina spills.Copy !req
357. Yeah, that's exactly
why we should tell my dad.
Dan, this was your idea.Copy !req
358. Lily and your dad are
too precarious right now.Copy !req
359. This is their wedding day.
You can't drop a bomb like that.Copy !req
360. You're gonna have to hold
Georgina off for one more day.Copy !req
361. You can do this. Be strong.
Okay. Just, um, remind me later
to kill you, please.Copy !req
362. Hey, dad, listen. So i gotta go
out for a couple of hours,Copy !req
363. but i will be back
as soon as i can.Copy !req
364. It's my wedding day.
Where are you going?
(Sighs)
You don't want to know,Copy !req
365. but it's absolutely, absolutely
important. I promise.Copy !req
366. "And watching the sun set
over the oceanCopy !req
367. "in Santa Cruz that day,
i knew that Rufus HumphreyCopy !req
368. was meant for me."
Mom, are you kidding me?Copy !req
369. Those could be the exact same
vows you wrote for Klaus.Copy !req
370. You substituted lederhosen
for doc martensCopy !req
371. and nice for Santa Cruz.
No, they couldn't.Copy !req
372. Oh, god.
I'm terrible at this.Copy !req
373. What do i say?
This wedding isn't like
your others.Copy !req
374. You're marrying Rufus—
your soul mate,Copy !req
375. the love of your life—Copy !req
376. talk about that
and your futures together,Copy !req
377. what you'll do,
all that kind of stuff.
- God.Copy !req
378. Serena, i just got off the phone
with the mayor's office.Copy !req
379. He's agreed
to expedite permits.Copy !req
380. Rufus and Lily can get married
at the Brooklyn botanic garden.
(Gasps and squeals)Copy !req
381. It's perfect.
Okay, what are we waiting for?Copy !req
382. Amalia, new mean girls, go to
the garden and get to work.Copy !req
383. Blair,
you're on whip-cracking duty.Copy !req
384. I'll deal with the caterers.Copy !req
385. Mom, just please work
on those vows.
- Okay.Copy !req
386. I'll handle everything else.Copy !req
387. Wow. I wondered
what happened to poppy.Copy !req
388. I had no idea it was that easy
to get someone deported.Copy !req
389. (Chuckles)
That's—that is, um,
that's—that's so thoughtful.Copy !req
390. That's so Georgina.Copy !req
391. Uh, you know, i really missed
you while you were away.Copy !req
392. You did?Copy !req
393. I-i heard you were
seeing someone.Copy !req
394. I was. But she—it turns out
she was dating Orlando bloomCopy !req
395. behind my back.
Can you believe that?
- No.Copy !req
396. Yeah.
- Huh. It is amazingCopy !req
397. how down that guy's
star-o-meter has gone.Copy !req
398. I shouldn't have been
with someone like that.Copy !req
399. You know, there's—there's no—
there's no history there.Copy !req
400. In fact, i was thinkingCopy !req
401. that maybe we could hit
the reset button on us.Copy !req
402. You know, like go on a date,
something like that.Copy !req
403. Really?Copy !req
404. You want me to be your date
at your dad's wedding today?Copy !req
405. I-i read about it
on "gossip girl."Copy !req
406. Uh, y-y-you know what?
That's kind of a—Copy !req
407. it's a private event.
It's small. Uh, so tomorrow.Copy !req
408. Oh. Yeah. Okay.
Uh, that—that works.Copy !req
409. Great.
- Yeah, okay.Copy !req
410. What does it meanCopy !req
411. when someone used to grab
your ass but now doesn't?Copy !req
412. It means that someone's
a big fat liar.Copy !req
413. How is my favorite bridesmaid?Copy !req
414. Working my butt off, but happy.
You're coming, right?Copy !req
415. I wouldn't miss you
in something pink and poofy.
I'm serious. I know you've
been avoiding my friends,Copy !req
416. but this is my mother's wedding.
It's important.Copy !req
417. I know.
- You can't hide from them
forever.Copy !req
418. Chuck is prickly.
I'll be there,Copy !req
419. and I'm not afraid of Chuck.Copy !req
420. I wouldn't pull out the suit
quite yet.Copy !req
421. I've spoken to Bree Buckley.Copy !req
422. She told me everything.
(Rain falling)Copy !req
423. Did you tell her where i was?
I told her there's a certain
wedding at the gardenCopy !req
424. that she and her family
wouldn't want to miss.
You're setting me up.Copy !req
425. No, I'm giving you a choice.Copy !req
426. You can go to the weddingCopy !req
427. and tell Serena
the ugly truth.Copy !req
428. Even if by some chance
she can stomach you after that,Copy !req
429. you still have to deal
with Bree, her family...Copy !req
430. And a little thing i like
to call Southern justice.Copy !req
431. Or?Copy !req
432. I'm getting sick
of being your travel agent.Copy !req
433. This ticket's the last,Copy !req
434. and it's one-way.Copy !req
435. Georgina, hey.Copy !req
436. Wow. Uh, so how'd
everything go with Vanessa?Copy !req
437. Does she, uh,
does she even want to see me?Copy !req
438. You know what?Copy !req
439. We're going to go
surprise her right now.Copy !req
440. Let's buy you a tie.Copy !req
441. Looks like this wedding song
just became "stormy weather."Copy !req
442. Don't worry.
Here comes the sun.Copy !req
443. the Sonic youth's
stuck in traffic.Copy !req
444. It's okay, Dorota.
But next time, remember,
Mr. Chuck has a chopper.Copy !req
445. Hey, have you seen Carter?Copy !req
446. I haven't been able
to reach him on his cell.Copy !req
447. Its' still early.
He'll be here.Copy !req
448. Go. Flit. Mingle. I'll keep
an eye out. Don't worry.Copy !req
449. I'm so glad you invited me,
Nate.Copy !req
450. Well, I'm just glad
Blair didn't scare you off.Copy !req
451. What, are you looking
for someone?Copy !req
452. No, no, I'm just taking it
all in. It's...Copy !req
453. Perfect. It's the perfect
location, the perfect weather.Copy !req
454. Eric, it's the perfect wedding.
I know.Copy !req
455. Carter is more than fashionably
late, and it better beCopy !req
456. because he's lost his keys
or he got hit by a pedicab,Copy !req
457. and not because
of something you did.Copy !req
458. Trust me. Serena's life will be
much better without Carter,Copy !req
459. which is why i offered him
an easy way out.Copy !req
460. i don't care
what Bree Buckley told you.Copy !req
461. Carter's a new man
with Serena,Copy !req
462. and this is her mother's
wedding. He won't miss it.
Well, we'll see who's right.Copy !req
463. In the meantime,
I'm going to get a canapé.Copy !req
464. I nearly choked. She shoved her
tongue right down my throat.Copy !req
465. I-i did some great acting,
though.Copy !req
466. Totally pulled it off.
It'll be worth it when you see
them finally happily married.Copy !req
467. You're right.
You're right, right?
I hope so. I'll see you soon.Copy !req
468. Try not to worry.
- Yeah.Copy !req
469. oh, Jenny, it's gorgeous.Copy !req
470. Thanks.Copy !req
471. You know, Lily,Copy !req
472. it wasn't easy for me
when my parents split up.Copy !req
473. And, uh, it was even harderCopy !req
474. when i realized my dad was
in love with someone else.Copy !req
475. But the truth is,Copy !req
476. I've—I've never seen him
happier than he is with you.Copy !req
477. That is so sweet.Copy !req
478. I-i can't wait for you
to hear his vows.Copy !req
479. They're—they're all about
your future together,Copy !req
480. and i don't want to spoil them,
but they're really beautiful.Copy !req
481. Okay, I'm gonna go,
but you look amazing,Copy !req
482. and I'll see you out there.
Thank you.Copy !req
483. Looks like i was right,
and you were wrong.Copy !req
484. Hey, you okay?Copy !req
485. No.Copy !req
486. And you might not be either when
you hear what i have to say.Copy !req
487. A few months before we left
to search for your dad,Copy !req
488. i, uh,Copy !req
489. i ran up
some gambling debt.Copy !req
490. I owed a lot of money
to some scary people.Copy !req
491. And then i met this woman—Copy !req
492. Beth.Copy !req
493. She was shy, kind,Copy !req
494. and, well, she...
Fell in love with me,Copy !req
495. and i saw an opportunity.Copy !req
496. She had money?Copy !req
497. Her family did,Copy !req
498. and i knew they'd take care
of my debtsCopy !req
499. if... it looked like i was
about to be one of them,Copy !req
500. so... i proposed.Copy !req
501. The wedding was all planned,
and she had her dress, flowers.Copy !req
502. And I...Copy !req
503. Nearly went through with it,
but I...Copy !req
504. I didn't love her.
So what,
you—you just disappeared?Copy !req
505. It's the worst thing
I've ever done.
You buy this girl a ring.
You tell her you love her.Copy !req
506. What—what, did you make her
breakfast in the morning, too?Copy !req
507. Serena,
it's—it's not the same.
Carter, i have to go.Copy !req
508. My mother's getting married
right now.Copy !req
509. I've been looking all over
for you.Copy !req
510. Geor-Georgina, hey.
(Laughs)Copy !req
511. What a—what a great surprise.Copy !req
512. Uh, i thought our date was
tomorrow.Copy !req
513. It is. I just stopped byCopy !req
514. to give Lily and Rufus
a wedding present.Copy !req
515. Hey. What was that about?Copy !req
516. You look beautiful, lil.
Come on.Copy !req
517. Can we just talk
for a second?Copy !req
518. I don't get it. E-e-everything
came together for today.Copy !req
519. I'm sorry.
I can't write my vows.Copy !req
520. I mean, how could i
when we don't agreeCopy !req
521. on how to raise our children
or how to get marriedCopy !req
522. or anything?
- What happened
to taking a leap?Copy !req
523. (Sighs) But the stakes
are too high.Copy !req
524. Ah, the wedding march.Copy !req
525. Here comes the awkward pause.Copy !req
526. Uh, uh, I'm sorry, everyone.Copy !req
527. There's been a slight delay.Copy !req
528. Uh...Copy !req
529. I'm sure there's just a tear
in her hem or something.Copy !req
530. I'll—I'll check.Copy !req
531. Looks like the wedding dress
might have a runaway train.Copy !req
532. I-i can't believe you.
You want to knowCopy !req
533. what our future looks like,
Lily? It looks like this.Copy !req
534. We are going to fight.
We're—we're gonna wantCopy !req
535. to kill each other sometimes.
That's what marriage is about—Copy !req
536. not running away
from every little problem—Copy !req
537. sticking it out,
you know, committing.Copy !req
538. Do you think
you can do that or not?Copy !req
539. I, uh...
I don't think i can.Copy !req
540. Wait. So you're not
getting married?Copy !req
541. Scott?
What? Who are you?Copy !req
542. This is a private conversation
at a private event.Copy !req
543. How dare you.Copy !req
544. What, do you know him?
Oh, uh, uh, yeah,
that was...Copy !req
545. Your love child.
Yeah, not dead.Copy !req
546. Congratulations. It's a boy.Copy !req
547. Ooh, ooh, love child.Copy !req
548. Things didn't get any easier.Copy !req
549. Might have to move
the honeymoon suiteCopy !req
550. to the heartbreak hotel.Copy !req
551. Wait. Wait. What was
she talking about?
Don't believe her.
Georgina is a liar.Copy !req
552. (Jenny) What is she
even doing here?
(Lily) Our son is dead,
isn't he? Isn't he?Copy !req
553. Yeah, of course he is.
That was, uh, Scott rosson,Copy !req
554. Andrew's brother.
- You know Andrew's brother?Copy !req
555. Or that's at least
what he told me.Copy !req
556. Dad, dad, dad. Lily... um,
Scott, um, Scott is your son.Copy !req
557. I'm so sorry. I was gonna
tell you after the wedding.Copy !req
558. I-i found out just yesterday.Copy !req
559. Scott is...Copy !req
560. How is that possible?Copy !req
561. The rossons lied to you.
Andrew wasn't your son.Copy !req
562. Scott is.
He wasn't ready to tell you.Copy !req
563. I have to go find him. Vanessa,
where do you think he went?
(Whispers) Oh, my god.Copy !req
564. He's probably headed
back to Boston.Copy !req
565. He takes the Chinatown bus.
I'm going to find him.Copy !req
566. Well, I'm coming with you.
He's our son.Copy !req
567. We're doing this together.Copy !req
568. (Man) I'm so sorry.Copy !req
569. (Exhales deeply)
Are you okay?Copy !req
570. Will you just leave?Copy !req
571. Please. I-i need some time.Copy !req
572. Just so you know,
i told you what i told you,Copy !req
573. because it's not the same
with you.Copy !req
574. I really do care about you,
Serena,Copy !req
575. so much.Copy !req
576. Hey, Carter.Copy !req
577. You remember my cousin Beth's
brothers, right?Copy !req
578. Played defensive line
for arnett mead?Copy !req
579. I'll be
at the downing tonight.Copy !req
580. We can't do this here.Copy !req
581. They'll be watching you.Copy !req
582. What? It's not like somebody
else is gonna eat this now.Copy !req
583. Mmm. Hey, guys.
Great wedding, huh?Copy !req
584. Look, Rufus, we just drove
around the entire block.Copy !req
585. He's not here.
Vanessa was wrong.Copy !req
586. The bus for Boston leaves
in eight minutes.Copy !req
587. So he could still come.
You know, he could be anywhere.Copy !req
588. Let's go back
to the bus stop.
- But, uh...Copy !req
589. What are you doing? Let's go.
But what's the point?Copy !req
590. The point is
we can still find him.
Well, and if we do, after
what—after what i just did,Copy !req
591. i—what am i supposed
to say to him?
That we're his parents
and that we're here for himCopy !req
592. and that love can fix things.
Oh, we both know
that's not true.Copy !req
593. You know what? I don't.Copy !req
594. You—what Scott sawCopy !req
595. was you grasping at anything
you can to push me away.Copy !req
596. That is not true.
First it was Serena and brown,
then the mugs and the mayor,Copy !req
597. then it's that you
can't see the future.
Well, I'm scared of the future.
I'm scared of a lot of things.Copy !req
598. You're scared
because you're in love with meCopy !req
599. like you've never loved
any of your husbands.Copy !req
600. And unlike a Bart bass, someone
like me can break your heart,Copy !req
601. and that's terrifying.Copy !req
602. And i know that, because
right now you're breaking mine.Copy !req
603. Scott?Copy !req
604. Scott.Copy !req
605. Scott.Copy !req
606. S-stop. This was a mistake.
Don't say that.Copy !req
607. All my life, i wondered
about my real parents.Copy !req
608. When i found out that
they were you and Lily,Copy !req
609. that you were back together
and you were getting married,Copy !req
610. i guess i hoped that I'd
find out that you gave me upCopy !req
611. 'cause you weren't ready,Copy !req
612. not 'cause
you didn't love each other.Copy !req
613. Look, the difference is
now i know we both want you,Copy !req
614. need you in our lives.
Sure we got our problems,Copy !req
615. but Lily and i love
our children,Copy !req
616. and despite what you just saw,
we love each other.
He's right.
He's the best fatherCopy !req
617. and the best man
I've ever known.Copy !req
618. Uh, i am scared,Copy !req
619. because marrying youCopy !req
620. means finally giving myself
a real partner,Copy !req
621. my children a real father,Copy !req
622. and...Copy !req
623. Finally...
Letting myself truly love.Copy !req
624. Lily.Copy !req
625. I'm sorry, Rufus.Copy !req
626. And I'm sorry, Scott...Copy !req
627. (Voice breaks) That this is
how you had to meet me,Copy !req
628. because all i thought about
for the last 20 years is...Copy !req
629. (Crying) Holding our child
in my arms.Copy !req
630. Please give us a chance.Copy !req
631. Spotted—a family reunited,
and it feels so good.Copy !req
632. And i promise to eat caviarCopy !req
633. without spitting it
in my napkinCopy !req
634. when we go to dinner
at mayor bloomberg's,Copy !req
635. uh, as long as he knows
when he comes to our house,Copy !req
636. he's eating my chili.
(Laughter)Copy !req
637. Lily.
- And, Rufus, um,Copy !req
638. i know that our futureCopy !req
639. will be just like us—Copy !req
640. flawed and fragmentedCopy !req
641. and full of more loveCopy !req
642. than i ever thought possible.Copy !req
643. I am so excited
for you to be my husband...Copy !req
644. And for our children,Copy !req
645. all of them...Copy !req
646. To be my family.Copy !req
647. Well,
by the power vested in meCopy !req
648. by a sketchy service
on the Internet...Copy !req
649. I pronounce you
husband and wife.Copy !req
650. Oh.Copy !req
651. Whoo!Copy !req
652. Whoo!
- Ow!Copy !req
653. Yay!Copy !req
654. Okay, we get it. Enough.Copy !req
655. Yay! (Laughs)Copy !req
656. Ohh.Copy !req
657. Congratulations.
I'm so happy for you.Copy !req
658. Thank you. Where is Carter?Copy !req
659. Oh, he—he went home.
He wasn't feeling well.Copy !req
660. You know all i want is
for you to be happy, right?Copy !req
661. Look, i have to admit,
if you were at brown,Copy !req
662. this wedding probably
never would have happened,Copy !req
663. so thank you.Copy !req
664. Of course.Copy !req
665. And i really am so happy
you finally found the right man.Copy !req
666. Mm.
- You're very lucky.Copy !req
667. Aw.Copy !req
668. I love you.Copy !req
669. I love you.Copy !req
670. Sorry for not telling you
who i was.Copy !req
671. (Scoffs) You know what?
I should have guessed.Copy !req
672. No one under 40 has ever shown
that much interestCopy !req
673. in Lincoln hawk.
- See, i told you.
He has my nose.Copy !req
674. Uh, maybe, but those are
my eyebrows.
(Chuckles) So, Scott, what do
you think about board games?Copy !req
675. Love them.
- Fantastic.Copy !req
676. So hey, uh, Vanessa texted.Copy !req
677. She said she's sorry
she couldn't make it back here.
I just...Copy !req
678. I just wish i didn't put her
in the middle of all this.Copy !req
679. Vanessa is an all's well
that ends well kind of girl.Copy !req
680. She'll be fine. You thinking
about sticking around?Copy !req
681. Nah,
i have to go back to Boston,Copy !req
682. my family,
figure my life out.Copy !req
683. Lily said there's
an open invitation.Copy !req
684. I'll definitely take her up
on that. Maybe the holidays.Copy !req
685. I'd love it.
I'm sure Vanessa would, too.Copy !req
686. Come here.Copy !req
687. hey.Copy !req
688. I've been looking for you.
You okay?Copy !req
689. Not really.Copy !req
690. Carter told me some stuff,Copy !req
691. and it turns out,Copy !req
692. he's not the person
i thought he was.Copy !req
693. The person he is—Copy !req
694. i... i-i don't really want
to know.Copy !req
695. Look...Copy !req
696. I may loathe the guy,Copy !req
697. but he didn't have
to own up to anything.Copy !req
698. He could have skipped town.Copy !req
699. I even bought him a ticket.Copy !req
700. He risked a lot
going to the wedding,Copy !req
701. knowing Bree would be there.Copy !req
702. What, the girl he was engaged to
was a Buckley?Copy !req
703. He must really care
about you.Copy !req
704. Do you think the buckleys
would actually hurt him?Copy !req
705. They clearly want revenge.Copy !req
706. i talked to Blair.Copy !req
707. So is it true?Copy !req
708. You used me to get to Carter?Copy !req
709. Yeah...Copy !req
710. I guess i did.Copy !req
711. Come on, Nate.Copy !req
712. You're a Van Der bilt.Copy !req
713. I'm a Buckley.Copy !req
