3. Those things, they never run.Copy !req
4. They know there's only
so many places we can go.Copy !req
5. I think we're running out of
spaces on the board, Sheriff.Copy !req
6. I wish you had the luxury of
grief, but you don't, Boyd.Copy !req
7. These people need you.Copy !req
8. You need to be the one
to lead these people home.Copy !req
9. 'Cause if you don't,
she died for nothing.Copy !req
10. Come on.Copy !req
11. Started getting tremors
in my hand a few weeks back,Copy !req
12. which means the clock
is officially ticking,Copy !req
13. but I have this crazy idea
that might actually work and—Copy !req
14. and if it does,Copy !req
15. I might be able to find a way
to get these people home.Copy !req
16. Something here is missing.
We just can't see it yet.Copy !req
17. I need something to write with.Copy !req
18. Ask every question, right?Copy !req
19. I don't just sit aroundCopy !req
20. fucking accepting the world
as it is!Copy !req
21. - Someone is doing this,Copy !req
22. and I'm not gonna rest
until I figure out how.Copy !req
23. Jade!Copy !req
24. I really like you,Copy !req
25. and what's about to happen,
it's gonna save everyone.Copy !req
26. Where's my mom?
I want my mom!Copy !req
27. You're doing this for her!Copy !req
28. Let him go.Copy !req
29. They told me this
was the last one,Copy !req
30. then everyone gets to go home!Copy !req
31. - Ethan, run!
- No!Copy !req
32. You don't understand!Copy !req
33. - Nathan!
- Nathan.Copy !req
34. Nathan, please!Copy !req
35. Where is she?Copy !req
36. She ran off into the woods.Copy !req
37. And?Copy !req
38. And if she comes back before
dark, then we'll handle it.Copy !req
39. And if she doesn't?Copy !req
40. If she doesn't,
then it's handled.Copy !req
41. Chaos and faith,Copy !req
42. that is the duality
of our existence,Copy !req
43. from the moment we first arrive,Copy !req
44. and not simply
here in this town...Copy !req
45. but in this world,
in this life.Copy !req
46. From the moment
we open our newborn eyes,Copy !req
47. we are faced with a chaos we
cannot even begin to understand.Copy !req
48. And how do we respond?Copy !req
49. What is the very
first sound we make?Copy !req
50. We cry out.Copy !req
51. We plead for answers,Copy !req
52. before we even have words to
give voice to the questions.Copy !req
53. That's how we begin our
journey through this world -Copy !req
54. terrified,Copy !req
55. confused.Copy !req
56. And so, we search,
and we strive,Copy !req
57. and we stumble
through the chaos.Copy !req
58. We spend our lives looking
for signs that somewhere,Copy !req
59. somehow there's a meaning,Copy !req
60. a purpose to it all.Copy !req
61. And then, one day,
we find our faith.Copy !req
62. Our faith that we are
each here in this world,Copy !req
63. in this place,Copy !req
64. as part of God's
mysterious plan.Copy !req
65. In our faith, we understand
the chaos is the meaning.Copy !req
66. It is in our struggle,Copy !req
67. in our search,
that we find our purpose.Copy !req
68. "Trust in the Lord
with all thine heartCopy !req
69. and lean not unto thine
own understanding."Copy !req
70. - Amen.
- Amen.Copy !req
71. It's always— it's always nice
to see new faces.Copy !req
72. Yeah, I'm, um—
I just came by to give you this.Copy !req
73. We've been packing up
the other family's stuff.Copy !req
74. I figured
they were yours.Copy !req
75. Yeah.Copy !req
76. How's Ethan doing?Copy !req
77. Well, he's, um...Copy !req
78. He's scared
and confused.Copy !req
79. He doesn't understand why
Sara would try to hurt him.Copy !req
80. Mm.Copy !req
81. Has anyone seen her?Copy !req
82. Not since she ran
off into the woods.Copy !req
83. Mm.Copy !req
84. I ran after her, but...Copy !req
85. my knees aren't quite what
they used to be, I'm afraid.Copy !req
86. Do you think
she's still alive?Copy !req
87. It's unlikely
she survived the night.Copy !req
88. Those Bible passages, did you—Copy !req
89. did you write
those from memory?Copy !req
90. Yeah.
Word for word.Copy !req
91. It tends to stick.Copy !req
92. Um, what did you really come
here to ask me, Tabitha?Copy !req
93. How do you know
any of this is real?Copy !req
94. I mean...Copy !req
95. It sounds crazy,
but are we dead? Are we alive?Copy !req
96. I...Copy !req
97. Would it matter?Copy !req
98. I mean, for argument's sake,
let's say we're dead,Copy !req
99. and we're all stuck here
together in some strange,Copy !req
100. tormented purgatory.Copy !req
101. What would be different?
We'd still be stuck.Copy !req
102. We'd still be searching
for a way to go home.Copy !req
103. All that would change is
the home we're searching for.Copy !req
104. Yeah.Copy !req
105. I mean, I'm guessing
I'm not the first personCopy !req
106. to come to you
with that question.Copy !req
107. Well, let's just sayCopy !req
108. I've had plenty of chances
to work on my answer.Copy !req
109. Yeah.Copy !req
110. But if it's any
consolation to you,Copy !req
111. you were already here
when your vehicle crashed.Copy !req
112. You're alive, Tabitha.
Your family's alive.Copy !req
113. So you can scratch that
question off your list.Copy !req
114. Yeah.Copy !req
115. Bye.Copy !req
116. Yeah.Copy !req
117. We need to talk.Copy !req
118. You all right?Copy !req
119. Yeah, it—Copy !req
120. I'm having a hard time wrapping
my brain around it, I guess.Copy !req
121. I mean, it's Sara, you know?Copy !req
122. She was always
so thoughtful, so nice.Copy !req
123. - How's your mom taking it?
- It's hard.Copy !req
124. You know, Sara was kind of like
the daughter she never had.Copy !req
125. I been thinking about
what you said the other day,Copy !req
126. about running out
of room on the board.Copy !req
127. I was upset.Copy !req
128. Well, it doesn't
mean you're wrong.Copy !req
129. Something's changing here.
It's like...Copy !req
130. like something's slipping away.Copy !req
131. The other night, the talisman
worked out in the RV,Copy !req
132. same way it does in the houses.Copy !req
133. And?Copy !req
134. And I've been thinking
that the only reasonCopy !req
135. we haven't pushed
further into the forestCopy !req
136. is we didn't know
whether the talismanCopy !req
137. would protect us out there the
same way it does in the town.Copy !req
138. So...Copy !req
139. I'm putting
together some supplies.Copy !req
140. I'm gonna take the talismanCopy !req
141. and go out in the forest
and I'm gonna see—Copy !req
142. Hey!
Hey, hey, hey, hey!Copy !req
143. Kenny, what...Copy !req
144. Hey! You don't walk away
when I'm talking to you!Copy !req
145. Are you going alone?Copy !req
146. Yeah.Copy !req
147. And how far are you going?Copy !req
148. As far as it'll take me.Copy !req
149. I'm doin' this
to find a way out,Copy !req
150. find a way home.
Isn't that the point?Copy !req
151. Make sure we
all get home?Copy !req
152. Honestly?Copy !req
153. I'm not sure there
is a point anymore.Copy !req
154. But if you're in that much
of a hurry to fuckin' die,Copy !req
155. you should just go and do it.Copy !req
156. Okay?Copy !req
157. I got everything packed up.Copy !req
158. It's ready to go to storage.Copy !req
159. Oh, okay.Copy !req
160. What are you up to?Copy !req
161. Look.Copy !req
162. There's no wire in here.Copy !req
163. What?Copy !req
164. In the cord.Copy !req
165. When you want
to splice a wire,Copy !req
166. you gotta strip away the coating
to get at the wire inside.Copy !req
167. But there's no wire.
This is...Copy !req
168. You know,
it's not actually a wire.Copy !req
169. And the plug?Copy !req
170. Look.Copy !req
171. Look.Copy !req
172. The outlets,
none of it makes any sense.Copy !req
173. I mean, these lamps,
they shouldn't work.Copy !req
174. Hello!Copy !req
175. Ah, you, uh,
rollercoaster guy,Copy !req
176. - I need your help.
- You don't knock?Copy !req
177. I'm sorry, would you like me
to take off my shoes too?Copy !req
178. You noticed the wire thing too,
huh? Fucking weird, right?Copy !req
179. You're that asshole
that almost killed us.Copy !req
180. Okay, look, first of all,
I wasn't driving.Copy !req
181. Second, my best friend,Copy !req
182. who I've known since fourth
grade, is dead. All right?Copy !req
183. He's not walking around with
A little boo-boo on his leg.Copy !req
184. So, how about we
just call that one even, okay?Copy !req
185. Now, you guys wanna play house
or do you wanna go home?Copy !req
186. Because I have an idea.Copy !req
187. Did you know there's
not a single copyCopy !req
188. of the Bible in town?Copy !req
189. I mean, in our little
traveler's library in the diner,Copy !req
190. there's at least a dozen Robert
Ludlum and Judy Blume novels,Copy !req
191. yet...Copy !req
192. not a single copy of
the world's most popular book.Copy !req
193. I imagine you wonder
why you're here.Copy !req
194. You've done such
unspeakable things.Copy !req
195. And by the rules of the town,
you should be in the box.Copy !req
196. Nathan told me
about the voices.Copy !req
197. It's okay.Copy !req
198. Sara, what if I
were to tell youCopy !req
199. that despite the horrible
things you've done,Copy !req
200. you can still help
the people of this town?Copy !req
201. You could still
do something good.Copy !req
202. I think Nathan would
like that, don't you?Copy !req
203. Yeah?Copy !req
204. Good.Copy !req
205. Those are pretty.Copy !req
206. Right?Copy !req
207. You have a good eye,
Miss Matthews.Copy !req
208. Oh, I just found
them like this.Copy !req
209. Like what?Copy !req
210. Arranged like this.Copy !req
211. They were on the porch
on the side of the house.Copy !req
212. Huh.Copy !req
213. Well, it seems we have a phantom
florist running around.Copy !req
214. Come on. It's laundry day.Copy !req
215. Come on.Copy !req
216. Ow!Copy !req
217. Motherfucker! Come on!Copy !req
218. Ugh.Copy !req
219. These people are ding-dongs.
They stripped the car.Copy !req
220. They leave behind the only
parts that actually matter.Copy !req
221. They're not all ding-dongs.Copy !req
222. Battery's gone.Copy !req
223. Huh?Copy !req
224. I said,
the battery is gone.Copy !req
225. That means we gotta
go back to town.Copy !req
226. Wait, just as soon
as I get this cable here.Copy !req
227. Goddamn it, come on.Copy !req
228. Why all the way out here?Copy !req
229. We literally could've gotten
wiring from any car in town.Copy !req
230. My friend, this is
a top-of-the-line Audi Q5.Copy !req
231. Parts sourced from—Copy !req
232. You really wanna pin our hopes
to some peasant model jalopy?Copy !req
233. Yep.Copy !req
234. You got all that?Copy !req
235. Whoo!
We're doing it!Copy !req
236. Science!Copy !req
237. Good morning.Copy !req
238. Uh, I'm dropping
these off for storage.Copy !req
239. Hey.Copy !req
240. Honey, she's not here.
She's not gonna hurt you.Copy !req
241. Promise?Copy !req
242. Yeah, I promise.Copy !req
243. Come on.Copy !req
244. Where should I...?Copy !req
245. Wow.
Look at all this stuff.Copy !req
246. Hey.Copy !req
247. Don't touch anything.Copy !req
248. Why?Copy !req
249. Because this— this used to
belong to other people.Copy !req
250. The people
who lived here?Copy !req
251. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
252. Oh.Copy !req
253. It's like the cavern
of the lonely dragon.Copy !req
254. Yeah?Copy !req
255. When the Cromenockle was
lost in the rainbow sky,Copy !req
256. she found a cavern where
the lonely dragon lived,Copy !req
257. and it was full of stuff
that nobody wanted.Copy !req
258. But for the lonely dragon,Copy !req
259. all the stuff was treasure.
And guess what.Copy !req
260. What?Copy !req
261. In one of the
big piles of stuff,Copy !req
262. there was the map
of the rainbow sky.Copy !req
263. So, the lonely dragon
gave it to the CromenockleCopy !req
264. and then she
wasn't lost anymore.Copy !req
265. So maybe we'll
find a map in here.Copy !req
266. Yeah, maybe we will.Copy !req
267. Mom?Copy !req
268. Yeah.Copy !req
269. What's wrong?Copy !req
270. Nothing.Copy !req
271. Yeah, this is it,
this one, right here.Copy !req
272. Oh, this'll
never work.Copy !req
273. Of course,
it's going to work.Copy !req
274. No, it's not
nearly tall enough.Copy !req
275. It won't have
the signal strength.Copy !req
276. Yeah, listen, we can
deal with that, okay?Copy !req
277. This is just a test run.
Look, you're an engineer, right?Copy !req
278. Amusement parks?Copy !req
279. Yeah.Copy !req
280. Okay. So, I guess that
means one of us builtCopy !req
281. a multi-million-dollar
software companyCopy !req
282. and the other does, what,
safety tests on the teacup ride?Copy !req
283. You know what?
Do it yourself.Copy !req
284. Huh? Wait, no, no! Hey, look.
I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry.Copy !req
285. People tell me I'm not great
when it comes toCopy !req
286. talking to people.Copy !req
287. You have no idea
what it's likeCopy !req
288. being smarter
than everyone you know.Copy !req
289. Listen, okay, look,
the truth is...Copy !req
290. I could really
use your help.Copy !req
291. Yeah, you could.Copy !req
292. This antenna,
it has to go up high.Copy !req
293. That is the highest tree that I
could find, but I— I can't.Copy !req
294. I get vertigo.Copy !req
295. So, you brought me
out here to climb a tree?Copy !req
296. Yeah.Copy !req
297. Listen,
you don't like me.Copy !req
298. All right? That's fine.Copy !req
299. But if there's even
the slightest chanceCopy !req
300. this could work,
don't you want to know for sure?Copy !req
301. Yeah. Yeah, I do.Copy !req
302. Okay.Copy !req
303. All right.Copy !req
304. All right.
Pass me up the cable?Copy !req
305. Kristi, you here?Copy !req
306. Sheriff Boyd?Copy !req
307. Kristi, hey.Copy !req
308. I-I was just, uh...Copy !req
309. I didn't see
you upstairs, so...Copy !req
310. Everything okay?Copy !req
311. I know you and Kenny are close,
and I was just, uh...Copy !req
312. How's he doing?Copy !req
313. Well, I mean...Copy !req
314. I think he's...
been having a hard time since...Copy !req
315. Right, right.Copy !req
316. And I-I think he's
trying really hardCopy !req
317. to be this person that he
thinks people need him to be,Copy !req
318. if that makes sense?Copy !req
319. Yeah.Copy !req
320. Being your deputy and...Copy !req
321. and I know
a big thing for himCopy !req
322. is he doesn't want
to let you down.Copy !req
323. I know. And I'm really trying
not to push him too hard.Copy !req
324. The truth is, he needs
to be ready to lead.Copy !req
325. Can I be honest
with you?Copy !req
326. Please.Copy !req
327. I get that you want to
prepare him for the worst,Copy !req
328. get him ready to take your
place in case something ever...Copy !req
329. But right now,
he's really hurting,Copy !req
330. and I don't think
he needs a sheriff.Copy !req
331. I think he needs a dad.Copy !req
332. Goddamn it.Copy !req
333. I'm sorry, I...Copy !req
334. No, no, no.Copy !req
335. It's...
It's not you. It's me.Copy !req
336. It's...Copy !req
337. If you don't learn
from your mistakes,Copy !req
338. you're doomed to
repeat them, right?Copy !req
339. I really didn't mean to...Copy !req
340. You didn't.
No apology.Copy !req
341. Thank you, Kristi.Copy !req
342. People think the
Bible's a fixed object -Copy !req
343. something written,
completed.Copy !req
344. But how can
the story be finishedCopy !req
345. if all the players
remain on stage?Copy !req
346. We call it
"the Good Book", but...Copy !req
347. Did you know it's actually
comprised of 73 books?Copy !req
348. Did you know that?Copy !req
349. Matthew, Mark,Copy !req
350. Romans, Corinthians.Copy !req
351. Seventy-three books.Copy !req
352. All filled with tales
of miracle and wonder.Copy !req
353. But there's also
darkness in the Bible.Copy !req
354. Gruesome, horrible things.Copy !req
355. You know, since—Copy !req
356. since the night I arrived,Copy !req
357. there seems to be a question
I keep coming back to.Copy !req
358. Seventy-three books.Copy !req
359. What if we,Copy !req
360. the people of this town,Copy !req
361. are living the book
that has yet to be written?Copy !req
362. What if this is Book 74?Copy !req
363. And, Sara,
what if we were chosen?Copy !req
364. For what?Copy !req
365. I don't know.Copy !req
366. Which is why I need you to
tell me about these voices.Copy !req
367. Please.Copy !req
368. When's Dad coming home?Copy !req
369. Soon, honey.Copy !req
370. I don't think
he will be much longer.Copy !req
371. What's wrong?Copy !req
372. Nothing. I'm just—Copy !req
373. just admiring this piece
of lonely dragon's treasure.Copy !req
374. It's pretty.Copy !req
375. Yeah.Copy !req
376. Why does that light
keep turning off?Copy !req
377. I don't know.Copy !req
378. How about you
and I have an adventure?Copy !req
379. What kind of adventure?Copy !req
380. Mm, some sort of,
um, treasure hunt.Copy !req
381. Really?Copy !req
382. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
383. Yeah, the game's
gonna be called,Copy !req
384. "Where does
the light come from?"Copy !req
385. Sounds good?Copy !req
386. - Yeah.
- Let's do it.Copy !req
387. Let's go. Okay,
we will need some tools, right?Copy !req
388. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
389. Ooh, I found your tool!Copy !req
390. Let's see if I've...Copy !req
391. found my tool.Copy !req
392. Okay.Copy !req
393. Let's move this.Copy !req
394. Come on, honey.
I need you to push. Help me.Copy !req
395. Okeydokey.Copy !req
396. Now, this is your tool.Copy !req
397. This is my tool. Ready?Copy !req
398. Mom!Copy !req
399. You're doin' great!Copy !req
400. Here we go.Copy !req
401. Hey, I'm snagged somewhere.
Can you see where it's caught?Copy !req
402. Uh, no, not really.Copy !req
403. Just, uh, give it a shake,
see if you can wiggle it free.Copy !req
404. Yeah, that's it.Copy !req
405. - You got it?
- Yup.Copy !req
406. All right.Copy !req
407. Okay.
How you doing up there?Copy !req
408. Doing good.Copy !req
409. Fuck!Copy !req
410. Oh, Jesus.Copy !req
411. No, no, no! No!Copy !req
412. No, no, no! No, no!Copy !req
413. No, no!Copy !req
414. Hey. Hey.Copy !req
415. Jade, wh—Copy !req
416. Jade, Jade, right here.
Right here.Copy !req
417. Listen, whatever it is,
it's not real. Okay?Copy !req
418. There's nothing there.Copy !req
419. Jade, I'm going
to help you up.Copy !req
420. Come here.
Come here.Copy !req
421. You okay? Huh?Copy !req
422. Just get your
fucking hands off me!Copy !req
423. What did you see?Copy !req
424. Just fuck off, all right?Copy !req
425. They said they wanted to help.Copy !req
426. That they'd been here
a long timeCopy !req
427. and they'd been waitingCopy !req
428. for someone to come
who would hear them,Copy !req
429. someone who could help them.Copy !req
430. Help them do what?Copy !req
431. Help them escape.Copy !req
432. Help them go home.Copy !req
433. They said they were
just like us.Copy !req
434. But why?
Why did you believe them?Copy !req
435. Because...
they told me things,Copy !req
436. things they couldn't know.Copy !req
437. They told me those
two cars were comingCopy !req
438. and to stand out near the edge
of town and I would see.Copy !req
439. They said it happened before,Copy !req
440. that two cars came
on the same dayCopy !req
441. and everyone died.Copy !req
442. They said it was because of the
people in the cars, but if...Copy !req
443. if I did what they said,Copy !req
444. that we'd be safe,
we'd get to go home.Copy !req
445. Okay. How?Copy !req
446. How would we get to go home?Copy !req
447. - I don't know.
- Okay.Copy !req
448. Do you still believe that
they were telling the truth?Copy !req
449. They promised...
that Nathan would be okay.Copy !req
450. They-they promised,
and now, now he's...Copy !req
451. - Sara.Copy !req
452. Sara, listen to me.
Come here.Copy !req
453. Listen to me.
Listen to me, Sara.Copy !req
454. If these voices are real,Copy !req
455. if something here is
communicating with you,Copy !req
456. then that means you're
connected to this placeCopy !req
457. in a way that
no one else here is,Copy !req
458. and that makes you
incredibly valuable.Copy !req
459. Do you understand?Copy !req
460. But we need proof.Copy !req
461. We need to be able
to go to Sheriff BoydCopy !req
462. and tell him with absolute
certainty that you—Copy !req
463. That I'm not crazy.Copy !req
464. No, the voices,
that these voices are not simplyCopy !req
465. the product of a troubled mind.Copy !req
466. So, Sara, I need—Copy !req
467. Ow!Copy !req
468. - Sara?
- Ow.Copy !req
469. - What?
- Ow. No!Copy !req
470. - What?Copy !req
471. - Sara.
- No! No!Copy !req
472. - What?
- No, no, no!Copy !req
473. - What?
- Please! Ah, no, no!Copy !req
474. - What?Copy !req
475. - Sara, what is it?
- Ah, no!Copy !req
476. What?Copy !req
477. I need— I need...Copy !req
478. Need what?Copy !req
479. Paper.Copy !req
480. Paper.Copy !req
481. They want me to
show you something.Copy !req
482. Hello?
Is anybody out there?Copy !req
483. - Hello?Copy !req
484. Is anybody there?Copy !req
485. I don't want any tea!Copy !req
486. You realize I have no
idea what you're saying.Copy !req
487. Fine.Copy !req
488. It's good.Copy !req
489. Thanks.Copy !req
490. I keep seeing it.
I-I keep—Copy !req
491. I keep having these, uh...Copy !req
492. Hey, where are you going?Copy !req
493. Hello?Copy !req
494. Where'd you go?Copy !req
495. Holy shit.Copy !req
496. This is all the, uh...Copy !req
497. Wow. Oh, wait, wait!
Hold on.Copy !req
498. Slow down, Tian.
I got this.Copy !req
499. What—Copy !req
500. what are you looking for?Copy !req
501. What is that?
It's a yearbook.Copy !req
502. 1972?
How many people...?Copy !req
503. Okay.Copy !req
504. Well, I mean, could you tell me
what you're looking for?Copy !req
505. Shh.Copy !req
506. What's that?Copy !req
507. Hmm?Copy !req
508. Oh, what the fuck?Copy !req
509. Please...Copy !req
510. I can't...Copy !req
511. I don't...Copy !req
512. What is this?Copy !req
513. They said...Copy !req
514. They said they watched you
on the day you got here.Copy !req
515. They said they
watched you bury the bagCopy !req
516. and that this is proof
that they're real.Copy !req
517. Do you know what that means?Copy !req
518. Oh!Copy !req
519. Ah! Here we go.Copy !req
520. Okay.Copy !req
521. Yeah.Copy !req
522. That's it.
There we go.Copy !req
523. Hey.Copy !req
524. Sheriff Boyd.Copy !req
525. Ladies.Copy !req
526. Hi!Copy !req
527. Fuck!Copy !req
528. Come in.Copy !req
529. Hey.Copy !req
530. I was, uh, going through my
things back at the station,Copy !req
531. and I realized I haven't thrown
a ball around in a while.Copy !req
532. Come on outside.Copy !req
533. You can help an old man
knock the rust off.Copy !req
534. I'm good.Copy !req
535. Hey, I ever tell
you, uh,Copy !req
536. I played first base
back in college.Copy !req
537. No.Copy !req
538. Yeah, I was
pretty good too.Copy !req
539. Had a couple scouts
kicking around.Copy !req
540. Here I am,
18 years old, thinkin',Copy !req
541. "Man, I might
be going to the show,Copy !req
542. "be the next Willie McCovey."Copy !req
543. What happened?Copy !req
544. Oh, you know...Copy !req
545. life had other plans.Copy !req
546. Life always seems
to have other plans.Copy !req
547. I'm sick, Kenny.Copy !req
548. What do you...?Copy !req
549. Have you talked
to Kristi about it?Copy !req
550. Not that kind of sick.Copy !req
551. My father was diagnosed
with Parkinson'sCopy !req
552. when he was around my age.Copy !req
553. It's not supposed
to be hereditary.Copy !req
554. The doctors all
swore up and downCopy !req
555. how extremely rare
that would be.Copy !req
556. Wrong time to win
the lottery, I guess.Copy !req
557. But how do you know that...?
How do you know?Copy !req
558. I mean,
it could be anything, right?Copy !req
559. It is what it is.Copy !req
560. Look...Copy !req
561. this thing is already
chipping away at me.Copy !req
562. And eventually, I'm gonna get
to the point where I can't—Copy !req
563. I'm not gonna be able to protect
these people anymore.Copy !req
564. So I gotta find us a way out
while I still can.Copy !req
565. You understand?Copy !req
566. The only way
I can do thisCopy !req
567. is because I know these people
are gonna be in good handsCopy !req
568. when I'm gone.Copy !req
569. There's a lot of folks
in this townCopy !req
570. who are alive today
because of you.Copy !req
571. And I know your dad
isn't around to say it,Copy !req
572. but I promise you...Copy !req
573. he's so goddamn proud of you.Copy !req
574. I'm proud of you.Copy !req
575. But if you tell me
right nowCopy !req
576. that you are not ready
for me to go,Copy !req
577. that you need more time,Copy !req
578. then I ain't
going nowhere.Copy !req
579. Okay?Copy !req
580. Well, we doing
this or what?Copy !req
581. Doing it.Copy !req
582. Hey? Anybody here?Copy !req
583. We might be onto something
with this radio.Copy !req
584. We're gonna have to get it
higher up, but it could...Copy !req
585. What the fuck?Copy !req
586. Hi, Dad.Copy !req
587. Hey, kiddo.Copy !req
588. What you up to?Copy !req
589. We're on an adventure.Copy !req
590. There's a lot of dirt,Copy !req
591. so mom said I should
bring some outside.Copy !req
592. Uh-huh.
And where is your mother?Copy !req
593. In the basement.Copy !req
594. Tabitha?Copy !req
595. Hey. Hey.
How'd things go?Copy !req
596. Good.Copy !req
597. Yeah?Copy !req
598. We got some static, so...Copy !req
599. Yeah, well,
that's wonderful, right?Copy !req
600. Yeah, it's a start.Copy !req
601. What you doing?Copy !req
602. It's like you
said this morning,Copy !req
603. it has to come from somewhere,
right? The electricity.Copy !req
604. There's no power lines,
and all the wires,Copy !req
605. all the cords, they just...Copy !req
606. they just go down,
straight down.Copy !req
607. It's so weird.Copy !req
608. Okay. Uh, sorry, can you...Copy !req
609. not dig for a moment?Copy !req
610. Yes.Copy !req
611. What's going on?Copy !req
612. Okay.Copy !req
613. Do you remember
the bracelet I made you?Copy !req
614. The what?Copy !req
615. The bracelet I made you
after our first few dates,Copy !req
616. from, uh, the laces of
your father's boots.Copy !req
617. Yeah, of course, I remember.Copy !req
618. Okay. Remember,Copy !req
619. you lost it at the hospital
the night Julie was born.Copy !req
620. Okay.Copy !req
621. Turn around.
Look what's sitting there.Copy !req
622. Okay, I still don't get it.Copy !req
623. You're saying
you found a braceletCopy !req
624. that's similar to
the one you gave—Copy !req
625. No, no, no, no.
It's not similar.Copy !req
626. That is the bracelet.
Those are the lacesCopy !req
627. from your father's boots!Copy !req
628. No, those were generic
rawhide laces,Copy !req
629. the same you'd find on any boot.Copy !req
630. No, no, no, no, no, no.
Look. Look at this.Copy !req
631. Look at this.Copy !req
632. What?Copy !req
633. This was an accident.
I made this.Copy !req
634. I was so afraid I ruined it,
but then, when I gave it to you,Copy !req
635. you said, "Accidents—"Copy !req
636. "Accidents are the best part."Copy !req
637. Yes. Why?Copy !req
638. Ah, because it makes
it one of a kind.Copy !req
639. Exactly.Copy !req
640. It's impossible.Copy !req
641. Jim, everything
about this is impossible.Copy !req
642. That doesn't
make any sense.Copy !req
643. Those wires
don't make sense.Copy !req
644. We may not be able to
find out how this got here,Copy !req
645. but we can find out
where those wires go.Copy !req
646. Give me the shovel.Copy !req
647. Where's yours?Copy !req
648. First base.
I don't need no glove.Copy !req
649. Are you sure?
Because I got some heat.Copy !req
650. Just throw the damn ball.Copy !req
651. You're gonna regret this.Copy !req
652. I hear a lot of talking,
but I'm not—Copy !req
653. Here comes the heat.Copy !req
654. I think, uh—
think maybe I'll carve us a bat.Copy !req
655. That way, when you get back,
we can do this right.Copy !req
656. When I get back, huh?Copy !req
657. Yeah, when you get back.Copy !req
658. Yeah.Copy !req
659. They're so beautiful.Copy !req
660. I'm so glad you like them.Copy !req
661. When can I come inside?Copy !req
