1. Erstwhile on Fargo...Copy !req
2. Mom home?
Yeah.Copy !req
3. Let's eat.
I'm starving.Copy !req
4. FBI.Copy !req
5. I called a couple
times now aboutCopy !req
6. the Fargo Syndicate massacre...Copy !req
7. Now I might know
the fella responsible...Copy !req
8. Jesus!Copy !req
9. This is where you work now.Copy !req
10. I have a commendation.Copy !req
11. I give you...Copy !req
12. Insurance Salesman of the
Year, Lester Nygaard!Copy !req
13. So proud of ya, Lester.Copy !req
14. Oh, Miss? Can we have
some more sparkling water?Copy !req
15. And this is any animal.
Pig, gopher, chicken...Copy !req
16. They go long enough
without sleep,Copy !req
17. you start to see
abnormalities behavior-wise.Copy !req
18. First there's the
inability to concentrateCopy !req
19. and perform certain
fine motor skills.Copy !req
20. Then you start to see...Copy !req
21. And the army did studies
on this in the '50s.Copy !req
22. The effects of sleep deprivation
on the human brain.Copy !req
23. I know 'cause
a buddy of my dad'sCopy !req
24. was a subject back during
the Korean conflict.Copy !req
25. I mean, shit, Ray,
what's the longestCopy !req
26. you've ever gone without sleep?Copy !req
27. Five days for me.Copy !req
28. This was back in dental school.Copy !req
29. Marty Perlmutter
stole a prescription pad,Copy !req
30. wrote us all a scrip for amphetamines,
so we could cram for finals.Copy !req
31. And boy howdy, I tell ya... After
three days of no sleeping,Copy !req
32. I was an animal.Copy !req
33. All right, mi amigo.
That ought to do it.Copy !req
34. I'm still a little worried
about the 203 and the 204.Copy !req
35. So we should
make an appointmentCopy !req
36. to get together again
in about six months.Copy !req
37. Appreciate it, Doc.Copy !req
38. Really. This black fella rolled
over my foot with a steam cleaner.Copy !req
39. And I tell ya, this hurt worse
than that did by a long shot.Copy !req
40. Yeah, nerve pain,
that's a bear.Copy !req
41. Oh, you wanna
avoid nut brittlesCopy !req
42. for a few days, and any
kind of fruit with pits.Copy !req
43. Jemma's got a pamphlet.Copy !req
44. All right.
Okay.Copy !req
45. Yo, Mick Mike...Copy !req
46. We still on for golf next week?Copy !req
47. Of course, we are, Burty Burt.Copy !req
48. But more importantly, are you and
Louise still gonna make it on Sunday?Copy !req
49. Uh, do dogs smell
each other's butts?Copy !req
50. I think I might have observed that
type of behavior on occasion.Copy !req
51. Well, we'll be there. Weezy's
making her famous five bean dip.Copy !req
52. Aces.Copy !req
53. Oh, thanks, babe.Copy !req
54. (SIGHS) Mick Mike.Copy !req
55. I just keep pinching myself.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
56. Honey, you've earned it.
It's like my mom always said,Copy !req
57. "Boys, if you like the milk,
buy the freakin' cow."Copy !req
58. Aw, that's so sweet.Copy !req
59. I am gonna stick my whole
thumb up your ass later.Copy !req
60. Aces.Copy !req
61. Yello.Copy !req
62. Hey, hey.Copy !req
63. Darling, is this guy
bothering you or what?Copy !req
64. (CHUCKLES) You!Copy !req
65. We're gonna tie one on tonight, friend-o.
I'm telling you.Copy !req
66. No time like the present.
That's what I always say.Copy !req
67. Bean dip?
You betcha.Copy !req
68. Oh.Copy !req
69. You look great.
You too.Copy !req
70. Ice wine. (GRUNTS)Copy !req
71. Buddy of mine says they swear
by this stuff in Finland.Copy !req
72. Well, they're all a bunch
of sex-crazed alcoholics.Copy !req
73. (LAUGHS) So they
should know, right?Copy !req
74. Sweet.
Hmm.Copy !req
75. Weezy says you
popped the question.Copy !req
76. Gonna make
Jemma an honest woman.Copy !req
77. Oh, yeah, I cried like a baby.
I'm not afraid to admit it.Copy !req
78. Well, she's something
else, that Jemma.Copy !req
79. Just between us girls
that body, is it...Copy !req
80. I mean...Copy !req
81. What's she like in the sack?Copy !req
82. (EXHALES) Hellcat. That's
the only word for it.Copy !req
83. Shit.Copy !req
84. Weezy's basically
a Jew in the bedroom.Copy !req
85. Oh, you mean she wears a wigCopy !req
86. and makes you do it through
a hole in the sheet? Yeah.Copy !req
87. No. No.Copy !req
88. She stopped
putting it in her mouthCopy !req
89. as soon as the ring
went on her finger.Copy !req
90. That's a national tragedy,
Burt.Copy !req
91. Amen.Copy !req
92. Gotta tell ya, Mick Mike, I
sure do like having you around.Copy !req
93. Likewise, Burty Burt.Copy !req
94. The office was dead dull
until you showed up.Copy !req
95. Positively geriatric.Copy !req
96. I'm a rascal. There's
no two ways about it.Copy !req
97. Yessiree, Bob.Copy !req
98. Like I told you before,
you and my brotherCopy !req
99. would get along
like gangbusters.Copy !req
100. Well, I'd like to meet him.Copy !req
101. Yeah.Copy !req
102. Like I said, it's tricky.Copy !req
103. He's in witness protection.
Say what?Copy !req
104. I said, he's in
witness protection.Copy !req
105. Turned state's evidence against
these mob guys outta Chicago.Copy !req
106. Told him not to.Copy !req
107. Now, I haven't seen
him in over a year.Copy !req
108. He still calls though.
Not supposed to.Copy !req
109. You can't break
up the Canton boys.Copy !req
110. I'll betcha. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
111. Oh, screw it. What are
you doing next weekend?Copy !req
112. You tell me.Copy !req
113. Oh, I like that,
"You tell me."Copy !req
114. Well... Weezy and
me, we're headedCopy !req
115. for Vegas to
a little family reunion.Copy !req
116. Why don't you and
Jemma tag along?Copy !req
117. Aces.Copy !req
118. "MAN". You did this to me.Copy !req
119. I had a wife, family.Copy !req
120. I was happy-Copy !req
121. And then you started...
Started what?Copy !req
122. All we did was talk.Copy !req
123. No, that's not... No, you said things...
Jumbled me up.Copy !req
124. You told me I needed...
Now, they're dead.Copy !req
125. Why'd I listen to you? Why?Copy !req
126. Tell my wife I love her.Copy !req
127. Oh, honey, can we get
some more sparkling water?Copy !req
128. Thank you.Copy !req
129. I put my mask on. Tawny hands
me the number two needle.Copy !req
130. I start to give
the guy a novocaine shot.Copy !req
131. Well, I stick the needle
in my own finger.Copy !req
132. And... Yeah.Copy !req
133. And it hurt, but I don't
want to look dumb,Copy !req
134. so I try it again. The next
time, I stick it in my thumb.Copy !req
135. Now I'm so flustered
that I go to take my mask off,Copy !req
136. while I'm still holding the
needle, jab it right in my face.Copy !req
137. And the patient is like... "Doc,
what's wrong?" And I'm like...Copy !req
138. I can't even move my arm.Copy !req
139. I mean, it was insane.Copy !req
140. You're a riot.Copy !req
141. He's a riot.Copy !req
142. You have no idea.Copy !req
143. (CLEARS THROAT) So,
we are all set for tomorrow,Copy !req
144. to go see you-know-who.
Should be fun.Copy !req
145. Real clandestine stuff,
change cars twice, no phones.Copy !req
146. Geez, who did you say
is after this guy again?Copy !req
147. Well,
what are the odds?Copy !req
148. Sorry?Copy !req
149. I'm sorry, sir. You must have
me confused with someone else.Copy !req
150. No. Minnesota,
last year?Copy !req
151. The emergency room?Copy !req
152. I didn't recognize you at first
either, 'cause you got a whole new...Copy !req
153. But hey, so have I.Copy !req
154. What do you think of the suit?Copy !req
155. Bill Blass.
Check this out.Copy !req
156. Salesman of the Year.
(WHISTLES)Copy !req
157. They gave it to me
on a stage and everything.Copy !req
158. Uh, Mick Mike. You gonna introduce
us to your friend there?Copy !req
159. You know, I'd love to, Burt.Copy !req
160. But unfortunately, I've never
met this man before in my life.Copy !req
161. What?Copy !req
162. Right, we don't know
each other.Copy !req
163. Okay, honey, let's go.Copy !req
164. We're never gonna make the show
if we don't get out of here.Copy !req
165. Walk away.Copy !req
166. Sorry, I must have...Copy !req
167. Congratulations on your award.
Thank you.Copy !req
168. Burt, did I ever
tell you about the timeCopy !req
169. I made a night guard
for Britney Spears?Copy !req
170. (BURT LAUGHING) I swear.Copy !req
171. Come on.Copy !req
172. He was a piece of work, huh?
Who's that?Copy !req
173. That guy in the bar.
You sure you don't know him?Copy !req
174. People nab me all the time. Just
one of those faces, I guess.Copy !req
175. No.Copy !req
176. You don't get to...Copy !req
177. I'm sorry to interrupt,
but it's not right.Copy !req
178. And when something's not right,Copy !req
179. well, the old Lester, now, he
would have just let it slide.Copy !req
180. But not this guy.Copy !req
181. I've worked too hard.
I've come too far...Copy !req
182. Lester, stop.Copy !req
183. So now you do know me.Copy !req
184. Honey?Copy !req
185. Is this what you want?Copy !req
186. Ah.Copy !req
187. Hey, Mick Mike,
lighten up, huh?Copy !req
188. Lester, is this what you want?Copy !req
189. Yes or no?Copy !req
190. Yes.Copy !req
191. Oh, my God!Copy !req
192. Oh, my...Copy !req
193. That's on you.Copy !req
194. I worked this guy for six
months, Lester, six months.Copy !req
195. Can you imagine the number of
sewer mouths I put my hands in?Copy !req
196. The gallons of human spit?Copy !req
197. Plus, the $100,000 bounty
down the toilet, but...Copy !req
198. Still, the look on his face when
I pulled the gun. Classic, huh?Copy !req
199. Grab the fat guy's feet.
We'll throw him in a dumpster.Copy !req
200. Shit, Lester.Copy !req
201. See you later, Lester.Copy !req
202. See you soon.Copy !req
203. Shit.Copy !req
204. All right.Copy !req
205. Okay. Get dressed.
We gotta...Copy !req
206. Lester, are you okay?Copy !req
207. Get dressed!
Get dressed!Copy !req
208. Get dressed! Get dressed!
Come on.Copy !req
209. Okay. Go, go.Copy !req
210. All right. Let's go.Copy !req
211. Keep up, hon.
Keep up.Copy !req
212. Lester, you're hurting my hand.Copy !req
213. Sorry. Sorry.Copy !req
214. Okay, okay. Come on.Copy !req
215. A man has a fox,
a rabbit and a cabbage.Copy !req
216. What man?Copy !req
217. Any man. A man.Copy !req
218. Colonel Sanders?Copy !req
219. Could be, could be
George W. Bush.Copy !req
220. Why would George W. Bush have a
fox and a rabbit and a cabbage?Copy !req
221. Just listen. A man has a
fox, a rabbit and a cabbageCopy !req
222. and he wants to
get across the river,Copy !req
223. but his boat can only carry
one of them at a time.Copy !req
224. Get a bigger boat. No, no.
That's not an option.Copy !req
225. And here's the problem...Copy !req
226. If the man leaves the fox
and the rabbit alone,Copy !req
227. the fox is gonna
eat the rabbit.Copy !req
228. And the same for the
rabbit and the cabbage.Copy !req
229. So how does the man get all three
of his items across the riverCopy !req
230. without losing any of them?Copy !req
231. A turducken.Copy !req
232. A... What's that now?Copy !req
233. He stuffs the cabbage in the
rabbit and the rabbit in the fox,Copy !req
234. and he eats all of them.Copy !req
235. That's not the answer.Copy !req
236. It's an answer.Copy !req
237. Hello?Copy !req
238. Incoming or outgoing?Copy !req
239. I need you to pull
the Syndicate file.Copy !req
240. Why?Copy !req
241. Is it like a clown
car back there?Copy !req
242. Why do you need
the Syndicate file?Copy !req
243. Yeah. Did something happen
with the case? A break?Copy !req
244. No. Just a phone
call I've gotta log.Copy !req
245. Phone call from who?
Yeah, who called?Copy !req
246. That's really
not your business.Copy !req
247. Hey-Copy !req
248. Deputy Solverson.
Solverson. What does he say?Copy !req
249. Says he knows who did it.
Okay.Copy !req
250. Where's Bemidji?Copy !req
251. Thanks, Dad.Copy !req
252. I think I'd look
cool with a limp.Copy !req
253. Saw the profile of
Bill in the paper.Copy !req
254. Yup.Copy !req
255. For the record,
I advised againstCopy !req
256. wearing a sword
in that picture.Copy !req
257. Honey, pass the syrup.
Yeah.Copy !req
258. Anyway, I'm in charge
today on account of...Copy !req
259. Bill's on his way to St. Paul now for a...
What do you call it?Copy !req
260. Law enforcement conference.Copy !req
261. So, watch your butts.Copy !req
262. How's the route?Copy !req
263. Can't complain. Takes me out by the lake.
It's a nice drive.Copy !req
264. Dated the girl who
delivered my mail once...Copy !req
265. After her mother.Copy !req
266. Convenient at first.Copy !req
267. Awkward after,
once we broke up.Copy !req
268. Seeing her every day.Copy !req
269. Ended up moving to
a different neighborhood.Copy !req
270. So that's why we moved.Copy !req
271. You know you could have just
had your mail sent to work.Copy !req
272. I never thought of that.Copy !req
273. So when's your last day?Copy !req
274. About a month.
She's nesting.Copy !req
275. Uh, geez. You know, you
buy one throw pillow...Copy !req
276. We better... (CLEARS THROAT)Copy !req
277. Bye.
Bye, kids.Copy !req
278. Hey, and go fishing later?Copy !req
279. You're the granddaughter I always
wanted, but was afraid to buy online.Copy !req
280. Bye.Copy !req
281. You did good, hon.Copy !req
282. Yeah, and you
by proximity, huh?Copy !req
283. Solverson.Copy !req
284. Bill? Yeah. No. He's in
the Twin Cities for...Copy !req
285. Oh, geez. Three people, uh.
Killed how?Copy !req
286. In an elevator, huh?
You say one's a dentist?Copy !req
287. Yeah, I'm... What do Las
Vegas police want me to...Copy !req
288. Oh, sure. Yeah.Copy !req
289. Yeah. No, I can go see their
witness, get a statement.Copy !req
290. What's... What's
the witness' name then?Copy !req
291. Will you slow down?Copy !req
292. You'd think we were
being chased.Copy !req
293. Sorry.Copy !req
294. Was it me?Copy !req
295. Did I do something?Copy !req
296. What?
No, I told you.Copy !req
297. I made a lot of new
contacts at the awards.Copy !req
298. Big fish. You have to strike
while the iron's hot.Copy !req
299. I know, but you woke me up
in the middle of the night.Copy !req
300. Oh, I'll make it up to you.
How's that?Copy !req
301. We can take a trip.Copy !req
302. Anywhere you wanna go.Copy !req
303. Natalie says in
Acapulco you getCopy !req
304. to drink rum right
out of the coconut.Copy !req
305. Acapulco it is.Copy !req
306. In fact, uh, why don't...
We should leave tonight.Copy !req
307. Really?Copy !req
308. Sure. Yeah.
I mean, why not?Copy !req
309. A little fun in the sun,
drink from a coconut.Copy !req
310. We deserve it, huh?Copy !req
311. What about work?
Your big fish?Copy !req
312. Well, you only
live once, right?Copy !req
313. Let's just...
We'll go home,Copy !req
314. pack some stuff then head
back to the airport.Copy !req
315. Have our toes in the sand
by dawn, a real adventure.Copy !req
316. Oh, Lester.Copy !req
317. Okay-Copy !req
318. Now, here is
what you're gonna do.Copy !req
319. You're gonna go inside
and pack your best bikini.Copy !req
320. I'm gonna get changed
and head to the office.Copy !req
321. And I'm gonna buy the tickets,
get the passports...Copy !req
322. And then we are
gonna run away together.Copy !req
323. Heck, we might never come back.Copy !req
324. Thanks, hon.
There we go.Copy !req
325. Trust the circles,
whenever you go around,Copy !req
326. just keep going, even though
you think you'll fail.Copy !req
327. So I checked and there's
an 11:00 out of Minneapolis.Copy !req
328. So we should be on
the road by 6:00.Copy !req
329. Okay. I'll defrost
that pea soup.Copy !req
330. We can have that before we go.Copy !req
331. Oh, yeah, sounds good.Copy !req
332. Love you, hon.Copy !req
333. Love you, too.Copy !req
334. Oh.Copy !req
335. Scared me there.
Startled me.Copy !req
336. Mr. Nygaard,
Deputy Solverson.Copy !req
337. Maybe you remember?
Yeah, sure.Copy !req
338. I'm sorry to bother you, but we
got a call from Las Vegas PD.Copy !req
339. What?
Las Vegas police?Copy !req
340. And they said you were, um...Copy !req
341. That you might be
a witness to a murder.Copy !req
342. Uh, three murders, actually.Copy !req
343. Lester?Copy !req
344. It's fine.
Go back to your show.Copy !req
345. Is everything okay?Copy !req
346. Yes, ma'am,
just a routine inquiry.Copy !req
347. Is now a good time
to ask you a few questions?Copy !req
348. No.Copy !req
349. Oh.Copy !req
350. I've got an appointment.Copy !req
351. I gotta get to work
and Linda's got shopping.Copy !req
352. Now, Lester. Don't be rude. We
just got back from Las Vegas.Copy !req
353. Can you tell me what this is
about, or is that classified?Copy !req
354. Oh, well, yeah, actually...Copy !req
355. I could come to the station this
afternoon and give a statement?Copy !req
356. Not that I, you
know, saw anything.Copy !req
357. Honestly, Lester, stay or go, but I
got a bladder the size of a penny.Copy !req
358. Oh, you poor thing.
Please, come in.Copy !req
359. Thank you.Copy !req
360. Hey, guys.
Is your dad around?Copy !req
361. Yeah. Daddy!Copy !req
362. Dad!Copy !req
363. Help ya?Copy !req
364. I'm not sure. I'm looking
for Lester Nygaard.Copy !req
365. Oh, yeah. We bought the place
from him in the fall. Nice guy.Copy !req
366. Yeah, that's Lester, all right,
nicest guy you'll ever meet.Copy !req
367. You got any idea
how I can find him?Copy !req
368. Uh, I don't have
a forwarding address.Copy !req
369. He's got the shop
over on Third, though.Copy !req
370. Is that Bo Munk?Copy !req
371. No. Got his own
place now,Copy !req
372. with his name on it.
Oh, nice.Copy !req
373. Like I said, over on Third.
You can't miss it.Copy !req
374. Okay. Thanks.Copy !req
375. Oh, uh...Copy !req
376. One more thing.Copy !req
377. You do know people were
murdered in this house, right?Copy !req
378. Hell of a thing.Copy !req
379. Man in the living room,
shotgun, woman in the basement.Copy !req
380. I think it was a hammering.Copy !req
381. Afterwards Lester told meCopy !req
382. he used to hear noises coming
from the basement at night.Copy !req
383. Footsteps on the stairs,
a woman moaning.Copy !req
384. That kind of thing.Copy !req
385. But I'm sure it
was in his head.Copy !req
386. You have a nice day.
Have fun, kids.Copy !req
387. I don't like him.Copy !req
388. So you won an award.Copy !req
389. Uh, that's right.Copy !req
390. Salesman of the Year.Copy !req
391. Oh, hun... (PATTING)
Yeah, I...Copy !req
392. It was
a national competition, so...Copy !req
393. Uh, then it was
dinner with Buck Young,Copy !req
394. who's the head of the whole
deal that gives the award.Copy !req
395. That was some spread. I think we
closed that place down drinking.Copy !req
396. Uh, and I said,
"I'm still up for some fun."Copy !req
397. And Linda said she wanted to go to bed.
I'm a morning person.Copy !req
398. Yeah, but then
I thought, "Heck..."Copy !req
399. How often does something like this happen.
Winning an award?"Copy !req
400. So, yeah, a nightcap,
just to celebrate.Copy !req
401. I told him to go.
Yeah.Copy !req
402. So, sure.
So I went to the bar.Copy !req
403. And this is the bar
at the hotel?Copy !req
404. Yes, sir. (CLICKS FINGER) Yes, ma'am.
Excuse me.Copy !req
405. Uh. The Royale,
I guess it's called.Copy !req
406. I ordered a drink, I had a chat
with the bartender for a bit.Copy !req
407. Uh, male or female?Copy !req
408. Female. A woman.Copy !req
409. Uh, but, you know, one drink
and I'm back upstairs to bed.Copy !req
410. And what happened on the elevator?
Nothing.Copy !req
411. I mean, it went up.Copy !req
412. So everyone on the elevator
was alive when you got off.Copy !req
413. Oh, yeah, they sure were. Uh, they
were laughing about something.Copy !req
414. Friday night in Vegas. That
is some place, I tell ya.Copy !req
415. Linda and me,
we'd never been before.Copy !req
416. What I love most
are the fountains.Copy !req
417. Also, you can
gamble at the airport.Copy !req
418. Right.Copy !req
419. Well, I checked
and it looks like youCopy !req
420. changed your flight
at the last minuteCopy !req
421. to come back on
the first flight.Copy !req
422. So, what was the reason there?Copy !req
423. That was me...
My idea.Copy !req
424. I just...
I got homesick.Copy !req
425. Woke Lester up in
the middle of the nightCopy !req
426. and told him did we have
to stay another day,Copy !req
427. 'cause I was ready to go home.Copy !req
428. Yeah. That's right.
That is right.Copy !req
429. Uh, remember? I said, "Babe, the room
is paid for through till Sunday."Copy !req
430. But she was adamant.Copy !req
431. I tend to get my way.
Oh, boy, does she?Copy !req
432. Okay then. Well, uh, thank you for
your time, Mr. Nygaard. Missus.Copy !req
433. When's the due date?Copy !req
434. Oh, I've got a few weeks still.Copy !req
435. Uh, listen. Vegas PD
is gonna send overCopy !req
436. some pictures from
the hotel security camera.Copy !req
437. So don't leave
town for a while.Copy !req
438. I may have some
more questions for you.Copy !req
439. Oh, shoot.
We were gonna...Copy !req
440. No, absolutely, absolutely.Copy !req
441. We'll be right here
if you need us.Copy !req
442. (ON POLICE RADIO)
Car four, come back.Copy !req
443. Car four, come back.Copy !req
444. I'm coming.Copy !req
445. Yeah, this is four.Copy !req
446. Hey, Molly,
a couple of FBI fellowsCopy !req
447. came by the station
looking for you.Copy !req
448. Oh, yeah?
Yeah.Copy !req
449. Couldn't reach
you on the radio.Copy !req
450. Thought you'd be at your
dad's, so I sent them there.Copy !req
451. To the diner?
Yeah.Copy !req
452. So you should probably
check in on them.Copy !req
453. They seem real
eager to talk to you.Copy !req
454. Okay then, will do.Copy !req
455. Coffee?Copy !req
456. Yeah. Decaf,
if you got it.Copy !req
457. And a piece of pie.Copy !req
458. I got apple and cherry.Copy !req
459. No good ever came
from a piece of cherry pie.Copy !req
460. Thanks, friend.Copy !req
461. Local PD?Copy !req
462. State cop, 18 years.Copy !req
463. You got the look.Copy !req
464. I spent some time
with the Tampa DA.Copy !req
465. Lawyer?Copy !req
466. Yeah, something like that.Copy !req
467. Say, you may be
able to help me.Copy !req
468. I will if I can.Copy !req
469. Uh, I'm in town for not too much
time, just passing through, really.Copy !req
470. But I wanted to look up
my old pal, Lester Nygaard.Copy !req
471. Oh, sure, I know Lester.Copy !req
472. Did you go by his shop?
Oh, first thing.Copy !req
473. But wouldn't you know it?
They're closed.Copy !req
474. Went by the house, too, except
it turns out he's moved.Copy !req
475. No kidding.
Hmm.Copy !req
476. So you can see my predicament.Copy !req
477. You tried calling him?Copy !req
478. Yeah, I could do that, but I
was hoping to surprise him.Copy !req
479. That's a pickle.Copy !req
480. Yup.Copy !req
481. That your boy?Copy !req
482. In a way. My daughter's husband.Copy !req
483. They look happy.Copy !req
484. 'Course, no one hangs the
sad pictures, am I right?Copy !req
485. Mom crying and
dad looking angry.Copy !req
486. The kid with the black eye.Copy !req
487. How long did you say you
worked for the Tampa DA?Copy !req
488. Oh, I didn't say
I worked there.Copy !req
489. Spent some time, that's all. But
that's just me. I'm a traveler.Copy !req
490. Big cities,
the small towns...Copy !req
491. Open road.Copy !req
492. Which is why I thought,
"Here we are in a..."Copy !req
493. What do you call it,
"A tight-knit community."Copy !req
494. So, uh...Copy !req
495. Thought I'll just ask.Copy !req
496. So here I am, asking you if you
know where I can find old Lester.Copy !req
497. Had a case once.
Back in '79.Copy !req
498. I'd tell you the details, but
it'd sound like I made 'em up...Copy !req
499. Madness really.Copy !req
500. Bodies?Copy !req
501. Yes, sir...
One after another.Copy !req
502. Probably,
if you stacked 'em highCopy !req
503. you could have climbed
to the second floor.Copy !req
504. Yeah, I saw
something that year...Copy !req
505. I ain't never seen
before or since.Copy !req
506. I'd call it animal.Copy !req
507. Except animals
only kill for food.Copy !req
508. This was...Copy !req
509. Sioux Falls.
You ever been?Copy !req
510. Went to Sioux City once.
Back in my scandalous days.Copy !req
511. But anyway, you didn't
answer my question there.Copy !req
512. Well, I tell ya what?Copy !req
513. You leave me your number,Copy !req
514. I'll make sure Lester gets it
next time he comes in.Copy !req
515. That's a solid offer, friend. But like
I said, I'm just passing through.Copy !req
516. Thanks for
the pie and the coffee.Copy !req
517. I haven't had a piece of pie like
that since the Garden of Eden.Copy !req
518. Hey, Dad.
Hey, hon.Copy !req
519. Everything okay?Copy !req
520. Oh, yeah.Copy !req
521. Sometimes you
just get a weird one.Copy !req
522. Well, I'm supposed to meet a
couple of fellows from the...Copy !req
523. Never mind.
I see 'em.Copy !req
524. Hey there, I'm...
Deputy Solverson?Copy !req
525. That's right.Copy !req
526. I'm Agent Budge and this is
Agent Pepper, FBI from Fargo.Copy !req
527. We went by the station.
They told us you'd be here.Copy !req
528. Am now.Copy !req
529. Should we grab a table?
Yeah.Copy !req
530. You made a phone
call to the field officeCopy !req
531. yesterday about
the massacre last year.Copy !req
532. Said you know who shot up
the Syndicate building?Copy !req
533. Called seven times,
according to the file.Copy !req
534. Wouldn't take no for an answer.Copy !req
535. I'm not clear on...Copy !req
536. The FBI sent a fella already.Copy !req
537. He looked at my evidence and
said it was circumstantial.Copy !req
538. A worker bee... Or what
do the ants call them?Copy !req
539. A drone.
We're invested.Copy !req
540. Got a personal stake,
is what my partner...Copy !req
541. See, we were there
on the day at the Syndicate.Copy !req
542. Surveillance.Copy !req
543. Day 156, just logging
the comings and goings.Copy !req
544. Six months and nothing happens.
Going crazy with...Copy !req
545. And then...Copy !req
546. So, you see, we're invested
personally, like I said.Copy !req
547. And when we heard you called...Copy !req
548. That you have an answer.Copy !req
549. So please, we have to know.Copy !req
550. Who is he?Copy !req
551. Um, Dad, I think we're gonna
need some coffees to go.Copy !req
552. My God.Copy !req
553. You put all this together yourself?
Oh, no.Copy !req
554. Gus helped me...
My husband.Copy !req
555. He used to be Duluth PD.
He's a mailman now.Copy !req
556. But you can see
why I think this is your guy.Copy !req
557. Okay, I'm here.Copy !req
558. Hey, Chief.
These fellas...Copy !req
559. Bill Oswalt.
I'm the chief here.Copy !req
560. Sorry I wasn't around to...
I was at a conference.Copy !req
561. And then Cindy called and said there
were two agents from the FBI here.Copy !req
562. Oh, no.Copy !req
563. Now, Chief, listen, before...Copy !req
564. No, no, no.
I am so sorry.Copy !req
565. I am so sorry. Molly, these
guys aren't interested in...Copy !req
566. Let's meet in my office.Copy !req
567. Have you seen this?Copy !req
568. Have I seen this?Copy !req
569. Son, this thing's been
giving me nightmares.Copy !req
570. Come on, now.
That's not fair.Copy !req
571. She did tell you
that we caught the guyCopy !req
572. responsible for
killing the wife?Copy !req
573. Didn't she?Copy !req
574. Uh, the brother Nygaard and
he had the bloody hammer...Copy !req
575. So you don't care
about the factCopy !req
576. that this Malvo character was
seen with Lester at the hospital?Copy !req
577. Or that he ended up in Duluth in
direct conflict with these other two?Copy !req
578. No, because that, uh...Copy !req
579. What happened in Duluth...Copy !req
580. I'm gonna call HQ and let them
know we'll be staying the night.Copy !req
581. We can take another run
at Lester tomorrow.Copy !req
582. Is there a motel?Copy !req
583. Um, yeah, sure. I can...
I'll get you directions.Copy !req
584. This is tremendous work,
Deputy. Impressive.Copy !req
585. Yeah, I better just...Copy !req
586. Come on.Copy !req
587. Okay-Copy !req
588. All set. Ready to go?Copy !req
589. What? I thought
we weren't gonna go.Copy !req
590. Acapulco, here we come.Copy !req
591. Oh, my God.Copy !req
592. You betcha.
I talked to the deputy.Copy !req
593. She said, "Sure, go."Copy !req
594. So now, we just gotta swing by the
office and pick up the passports.Copy !req
595. What about my coat?Copy !req
596. Oh, you're not gonna need a
winter coat where we're going.Copy !req
597. You know I had a crush on
you right from when we met.Copy !req
598. Hmm.Copy !req
599. Oh, Yeah'?Copy !req
600. Swear to God.Copy !req
601. Used to sit at my deskCopy !req
602. and dream about
you leaving your wifeCopy !req
603. or somehow getting
her out of the picture.Copy !req
604. Not that I wanted...
No, of course not.Copy !req
605. Nothing wrong with dreaming.Copy !req
606. Oh, I agree...
Like Cinderella.Copy !req
607. Yeah?Copy !req
608. I remember when I was three.Copy !req
609. And I told you how we
came over to America,Copy !req
610. settled in Minnesota,
my folks bought the motel?Copy !req
611. Yeah?Copy !req
612. Well, they put me
right to work.Copy !req
613. Just“ Laundry at first...Copy !req
614. Then making the beds
and cleaning the rooms.Copy !req
615. You don't even wanna know the
disarray people leave behind.Copy !req
616. I bet.Copy !req
617. One time...
I'll never forget this.Copy !req
618. I was changing the sheets
on a king size, and I'm...Copy !req
619. Suddenly, I'm like,
"What's that smell?"Copy !req
620. Well, the guest had...Copy !req
621. He made a BM between the
mattress and the box spring.Copy !req
622. What?Copy !req
623. I guess he took the
mattress off and did it,Copy !req
624. and then made the bed
back up, which...Copy !req
625. It's a lot simpler
just to go to the toilet.Copy !req
626. My point being...Copy !req
627. That while I was cleaning up
I had this dream that someone,Copy !req
628. a man... Would come along and
take me away from all this.Copy !req
629. And then I met you.Copy !req
630. And here we are.Copy !req
631. And we're going to Acapulco.Copy !req
632. I thought we were
going to the shop?Copy !req
633. We are.
(CLEARS THROAT)Copy !req
634. You know how icy it
gets right out front.Copy !req
635. Lester?Copy !req
636. You know I hate
to do this, but...Copy !req
637. I kind of
tweaked my back before,Copy !req
638. getting the luggage
out of the car.Copy !req
639. Oh, you poor baby.Copy !req
640. So do you think
you could run in?Copy !req
641. The passports are in the safe.
There's some cash in there too.Copy !req
642. Can you...
Will you do that for me?Copy !req
643. Of course, hon.
Thanks.Copy !req
644. Linda?Copy !req
645. Hmm.Copy !req
646. It's cold out there.Copy !req
647. You're sweet.Copy !req
648. Oh, uh.Copy !req
649. Put your hood up, huh?Copy !req
650. I'd hate for your
pretty face to freeze.Copy !req
