1. How do you know that the killer was Ringo?

2. On account of it must have been him or you,

3. and I don't figure you killed Charlie the barman.

4. Of course, If'n you wanna persuade me different.

5. Certainly not, my dear Sheriff.

6. Now, on the other hand, Bat, although the Clantons know he's not Doc Holiday,

7. they did see him shoot a gun out of Seth Harper's hand.

8. That was nothing to do with me.

9. Oh, but they think it was.

10. And, boy, you had 'em lined up against that piano like skittles in an alley.

11. Why, you're gonna be a useful man to have around when the shootin' starts.

12. I certainly hope that I should not be here. When Steven and Dodo come back...

13. Oh, you're gonna be here, all right, Doctor,

14. because I'm deputisin' you right now.

15. Well, this is utterly absurd!

16. Nothing will ever induce me to raise a gun in anger.

17. Well, maybe you won't have to.

18. But I mean, with just Bat and me and Warren against the Clantons,

19. you could shorten the odds some.

20. - And I'll help shorten them some more! - Well, hallelujah!

21. - If it isn't my brother Virgil. - You got a drink for a thirsty man?

22. Well, I'd just about given up on you.

23. - Hiya, Bat. - How do you do?

24. Oh, I'm afraid the bar is closed, Virgil.

25. - Say, how'd that happen? - Oh, got himself shot.

26. You don't know Pop, do you?

27. - Howdy. - Howdy.

28. Would you mind not calling me Pop?

29. Well, let's get on back to the office. Come on, Bat.

30. Warren's over there waiting for us, but Morgan can't make it.

31. - I'll tell you about it on the way over. - Okay.

32. Hmm!

33. Bill, now, we got him.

34. - We got him, Pa, we got him! - Seen you coming. Took you long enough.

35. - And we got us an Earp! You done what?

36. So you finally got here now the work's been done!

37. Ain't talkin' to you, Ike. Talking to Billy. Maybe get around to you later.

38. Like I said, we shot down one of the Earp brothers.

39. You shot Wyatt Earp?

40. - No, his k-k-kid... - Brother...

41. - Warren... - Earp!

42. Well, glory be! Now you really have declared war.

43. There was two of 'em, Wyatt.

44. Who? Who was it, boy?

45. Clantons, I guess. Come in real fast. Shouldn't have let Phin rile me.

46. I turned my back a minute... (GASPS IN PAIN)

47. Oh, no one's a-blamin' you, son. Rest easy.

48. Don't let Morgan know they got my gun.

49. He's gone, Wyatt.

50. - Get him on over to the bench there. - Wyatt, it's no use.

51. Do like I said!

52. I'll get a warrant for 'em, Wyatt. I'll get 'em, you know that.

53. You'll get 'em? Virgill.

54. - Yes, Wyatt? - Ride on out to the Clantons'

55. and tell 'em we'll be waitin' for 'em come sun-up.

56. Now listen, Wyatt. There's a right and a wrong way of doing this.

57. - Stay out of this, Bat. - This ain't legal, Wyatt!

58. If'n you uphold the law, you don't go startin' a private feud.

59. You gonna try and stop me?

60. No, Wyatt, but I can't go along with you. The law says that...

61. The law? The law can't bring my kid brother back.

62. Virgil and me's gonna step outside of the law.

63. I reckon so, and I'll tell 'em. Where will I say?

64. Tell 'em the O.K. Corral.

65. 2 At the O K Corral near Calamity Street.

66. Pass the c-c-coffee.

67. Ow! Pal.

68. Look, I'm gonna try to slip away, get word to Holiday.

69. Oh, if the Doc knew I was here he'd blast my head off. Thanks.

70. I'm sure he'll understand you were only trying to get Ringo off his trail.

71. Ain't the way the Doc'd see it.

72. 'Sides, you'll be shot in the back before you gone 10 yards.

73. Well, I don't know why they want to keep me here. I'm no use to them.

74. - (APPROACHING HOOFBEATS) - On account Ringo don't want Wyatt Earp

75. to know he's here till he's good and ready.

76. Now, cut it out! We got trouble enough seein' Wyatt Earp already.

77. - Oh, it ain't Wyatt. - Ain't no one I seen afore.

78. I've seen him. Old acquaintance of mine, Marshal of Dodge City.

79. Name of Virgil Earp.

80. Clanton!

81. - I hear you. Got a message for you.

82. Well, come on up. Ringo, you'd better get up on them stairs.

83. We don't wanna show our ace before we're ready to deal.

84. Okay. If you want me, you'd better shout real loud.

85. Line up on the door, boys.

86. Long way from Dodge City, ain't ya, Marshal?

87. Reckon you know why I'm here. Your boys killed my kid brother, Clanton.

88. - Well now there's two sides to every... - Ain't here to argue.

89. Just to say that Wyatt an' me'll meet 'em at the 0.K. Corral come sun-up.

90. And have a posse waitin'? You're crazy.

91. Masterson's got no part in this, neither has the law.

92. Just a little private business to settle between our two families.

93. And supposin' that we don't go?

94. Then we'll come a-lookin'.

95. Your friend there, whose side's he on?

96. - Oh, I'm with you and Wyatt. - Do you wanna to ride out with me?

97. Yeah, I'd like to.

98. Somehow I don't think it's gonna be possible.

99. Regret stays here. Now, git!

100. And tell Earp we'll be there.

101. I'll tell him.

102. Sleep easy.

103. (CHUCKLES) Well, it sure looks like a bad year for Earps.

104. You hear that, Ringo?

105. I heard.

106. Well, it looks like we got 'em. Two to four.

107. You mean, I got 'em two to one.

108. How'd you figure that out? We'd be there, too.

109. Sure you'd be there waitin' for 'em. Kinda like cheese in a mousetrap.

110. - Now look... - Ah, shut up, Billy.

111. You ain't got a hope in hell agin them two,

112. - only you ain't old enough to know it. - So what do we do?

113. Let me earn my money, why don't you?

114. I'll take 'em from behind while you face 'em.

115. Never figured you for a back-shooter, Ringo.

116. I never figured you for any kind of shooter, Billy,

117. which is why we'll do it my way. Okay?

118. Real careful.

119. Now, Mr Werp, what part am I supposed to be playing in this feud

120. between you and the Clantons?

121. I thought you gave me this to uphold the law, not...

122. He's right, Wyatt. You can't ask him.

123. My main concern is for the safety of Steven and Dodo.

124. Now, can't I ask you to change your mind?

125. Tain't no use, old timer. He won't listen to me, he won't listen to nobody.

126. You seen 'em?

127. - I seen 'em. - Gonna be there?

128. - Oh, they'll be there. Only thing is... - well?

129. Fella up there with 'em, name of Steven Regret.

130. Steven? What in the world?

131. Claimed he weren't no pal of theirs, but...

132. Well, Doc?

133. Well, if he's there, it's not a matter of choice.

134. He's still searching for Dodo with Ringo.

135. Well, I didn't see Johnny Ringo, but I sure enough saw his horse.

136. And Kate, ain't she his girlfriend? Well, she's there, too.

137. So Ringo's with the Clantons, huh?

138. Well, looks like you an' me's gonna have a busy morning, Virgil.

139. Oh, this is sheer madness, Mr Sheriff.

140. We can't take on the Clantons and Ringo.

141. They won't have to.

142. Doc! I thought I told you to get outta town.

143. Well, now, Wyatt, so you did, but the fact is

144. I was brung here at gunpoint by a woman.

145. You expectin' us to believe that?

146. The lady is here. The one and only Miss Dodo Dupont. Ah, thank you.

147. Doctor! Thank goodness you're safe.

148. Oh, my dear, I'm not in the slightest bit of danger.

149. It was you that we were worried about.

150. Well, now, where do we meet these Clantons?

151. We? Now see here, Wyatt, I don't take kindly to fighting alongside an outlaw,

152. Suit yourself, Virgil.

153. Suit yourself, Virgil.

154. I'll just wish you good luck and go off and find my Kate.

155. - Oh, you'll find her at the Clantons. - What's that you say?

156. Yeah, with Johnny Ringo.

157. Johnny Ringo?

158. I saw them myself, hour or two back.

159. I'll be fightin' beside you two tomorrow mornin',

160. whether you like it or not.

161. But this is ridiculous, gentlemen.

162. Can you not uphold the law without using firearms, hmm?

163. Well, old friend, now I've got Doc Holiday back,

164. why, you can hand in your badge any time you want to, Pop.

165. Oh, good heavens, what a relief.

166. Here you are, Bat, there's your badge and there is your wretched weapon!

167. Wyatt, how you proposin' to handle this little Clanton matter?

168. Well, just walk right up there and face 'em.

169. You reckon old Pa Clanton will play it that simple?

170. Well, they'll reckon they're four to two.

171. And one of them four is Johnny Ringo.

172. I ain't lining up for no square dance.

173. - I'm gonna play this my way. So, what's your way?

174. Yes, what is your way, Doctor Holiday? Hmm?

175. Isn't it time you went to bed, Doctor?

176. Oh, how can I possibly sleep, my dear,

177. knowing that Steven is mixed up with all this?

178. I'm quite sure that Steven can take care of himself.

179. Yes, but I'm not just worrying about Steven, my dear.

180. What about this man, Mr Werp? Supposing he gets himself killed, hmm?

181. Who is going to uphold law and order in this territory?

182. Why they couldn't let Masterson handle the affair, I don't know.

183. With a posse of deputies, and at the end of it let the Clantons get a fair trial.

184. Proud to hear you say so, Doctor.

185. If'n you feel that way, there's something you can do.

186. I've tried all I know to talk Wyatt out of this and he won't listen.

187. I'm asking you to go talk to the Clantons.

188. Seems like that's our only chance.

189. Me? But, my dear Sheriff, I should have thought you were the one to convince...

190. No, no, they know me for a friend of Wyatt's.

191. But If'n you go to 'em wearing your badge,

192. say you'll guarantee them a fair trial, it might just persuade 'em.

193. Me? Huh! I'd rather face trial than Wyatt, Virgil and Holiday together.

194. - Yes, I see. - And you might be able to help Steven.

195. Yes, quite so, my dear. That thought had passed through my head, yes.

196. Well, Mr Sheriff, if you need my assistance

197. I certainly will go along and talk to them.

198. Good.

199. Now, it's only about two hours to sun-up.

200. You'd better get started, right now.

201. - Boys are on their way. - On their way to murder?

202. That's a big word, boy.

203. It fits, though. This was meant to be a fair fight.

204. Think I wanna see my own sons killed?

205. They may as well be if they win this way.

206. Masterson'll see they hang for it.

207. When the shootin's over, we'll have this town in the palm of our hands,

208. including Masterson.

209. There's still Morgan Earp.

210. If he's still alive, we'll deal with him, too.

211. Can't build an empire, boy, without getting a mite unscrupulous.

212. Come on in.

213. Mr Clanton, I presume?

214. Doctor! - No, not Doctor at the moment, dear boy.

215. I am Deputy Sheriff of Tombstone.

216. Well, now, ain't that somethin'! My cattle been a-roamin' again?

217. I've come along to ask you to call off your boys

218. from embarking on this ridiculous duel.

219. Yeah.

220. Seems like they was the ones got challenged.

221. And if you'll do this, I'm sure that Masterson

222. will see that they get a fair trial.

223. Well, that's real handsome. Only it don't fit in with my plans.

224. I see. You would prefer them to be shot down in the street?

225. Well, they can take their chances.

226. Oh, they aren't taking any chances, Doctor.

227. Johnny Ringo's going to be behind the Earps.

228. One more yap outta you, Regret, you're dead, boy!

229. Ah, tut, tut, tut, tut, tut.

230. If you are alluding to the presence of Mr Ringo,

231. I can assure you, sir, that that also has been anticipated.

232. They are quite ready for him.

233. Okay, supposing they are? There's still only two of them against four.

234. You have been sadly misinformed.

235. Doctor Holiday is there also.

236. What? Kate, you said Holiday was in New Mexico.

237. I blush with shame, Mr Clanton, indeed I do.

238. That was a dad-blasted lie.

239. He's right there in Tombstone with the Earps.

240. Doc Holiday and the Earps? agin my boys.

241. We're early.

242. Do you wanna be late for your own funeral?

243. Now, you cut that out, Ringo!

244. - Take it easy, kid. - Just remember what I told you.

245. Yeah, I remember. We're the bait in the trap.

246. That's right. Now, don't forget.

247. Start firing before they get into range,

248. and go on firing so's they don't get a chance to look behind 'em.

249. Because that's where I'll be. Okay?

250. Be seeing you.

251. Well, best be going.

252. Wyatt, are you sure I can't stop you?

253. Nope.

254. Okay. So, good luck.

255. - Ready, Doc? - Oh, ready as I will be.

256. Why these here get-togethers has to be held at sun-up

257. I never will know. It ain't civilised.

258. Now, just where are you gonna make your play from, Doc?

259. Well, it's like I said, Wyatt. I'll be strollin' along real easy behind you

260. on the shady side of the street. Okay?

261. Okay.

262. A2 It's the O K Corral boys.

263. Here they come, boys.

264. Now!

265. Scatter!

266. Take to the side.

267. Doc, look out!

268. Well, if it ain't Doc Holiday. Who invited you, Doc?

269. You did, Ringo. Seemed kinda seemly to show up.

270. Throw down your gun.

271. Or the girl gets it.

272. I'm sorry, Johnny.

273. I thought you'd do better than that, Mr Ringo.

274. I will... (CHUCKLES)

275. Next time.

276. Ah, now, missy, you sure do perplex me. Go on now, you get the hell outta here.

277. I'm sorry, Doc. I was only trying to help.

278. You try to help me any more, you'll be the death of me. Go on!

279. Ringo was here.

280. - And? - He ain't no more.

281. Phin! I'm gonna get Doc Holiday!

282. why on earth you want to leave Tombstone, I can't imagine.

283. All the Clantons are dead. Ringo is dead.

284. Masterson ain't. Yes, but surely Wyatt Earp...

285. Wyatt Earp is no longer a lawman. Besides, he has killed two Clantons.

286. Even so, he'd never let a friend down.

287. Neither would Masterson.

288. Show 'em, Doc.

289. Ain't nothin' Masterson wouldn't do to oblige a friend.

290. Ain't it always the same?

291. - Always the same. It's a very good likeness.

292. - It's yours. - Thank you.

293. Goodbye, you all. Come along, Kate.

294. Ah, it's a terrible, terrible injustice. You know, I'm very tempted to...

295. Listen!

296. ♪ So fill up your glasses and join in the song

297. Oh, my dear Dodo, my dear Dodo.

298. You know, you're fast becoming a prey to every cliché-ridden convention

299. in the American West.

300. And it's high time we left. Now, come along.

301. Thank goodness for that! - Aw, but, Doctor...

302. I don't want to discuss it any further. In you go. Come along!

303. Yes, I think I can say that I know just exactly where we are.

304. - Past, present or future? - In the future. Very much in the future.

305. We've now reached the distant horizon of an age, an age of peace and prosperity.

306. Now, I'm going to be off.
