1. Oh, my head.Copy !req
2. Time travel without a capsule,
that's a killer.Copy !req
3. Oh...Copy !req
4. Still, at least we made it.Copy !req
5. Earth, 21st century
by the looks of it.Copy !req
6. Talk about lucky.
That wasn't luck. That was me.Copy !req
7. Hold it still, don't move.Copy !req
8. Hold it still. I'm telling you, it's
broken. It hasn't worked for years.Copy !req
9. That's because you didn't have me.
Martha, grab hold. Now!Copy !req
10. The moral is, if you're gonna get
stuck at the end of the universe,Copy !req
11. get stuck with an ex time agent
and his vortex manipulator.Copy !req
12. But this Master bloke,
he's got the TARDIS.Copy !req
13. He could be anywhere in time
and space. No, he's here.Copy !req
14. Trust me. Who is he, anyway?Copy !req
15. That voice at the end,
that wasn't the Professor.Copy !req
16. If the Master's a Time Lord,
he must have regenerated.Copy !req
17. What does that mean?Copy !req
18. It means he's changed his face,
voice, body - everything. A new man.Copy !req
19. Time Lords always do. But hold on...
If he could be anyone...Copy !req
20. We missed the election.Copy !req
21. But it can't be.Copy !req
22. Mr Saxon has returned
from the Palace,Copy !req
23. and is greeting the crowds
inside Saxon Headquarters.Copy !req
24. I said I knew that voice
when he spoke inside the TARDIS.Copy !req
25. I've heard that voice hundreds
of times! We've all seen him!Copy !req
26. That was the voice of Harold Saxon.Copy !req
27. That's him.Copy !req
28. He's Prime Minister.Copy !req
29. The Master is Prime Minister
of Great Britain.Copy !req
30. The Master and his wife!Copy !req
31. This country has been sick.Copy !req
32. This country needs healing.Copy !req
33. This country needs medicine.Copy !req
34. In fact, I'd go so far as to sayCopy !req
35. that what this country
really needs right now...Copy !req
36. is a Doctor.Copy !req
37. Finance report, sir. Military
protocol, sir. EC directive, sir.Copy !req
38. Annual budget, sir.
Policy recommendations.Copy !req
39. I'm so proud of you, Harry.Copy !req
40. Bless.Copy !req
41. Sir, if you don't mind me asking...
I'm sorry, but it's all a bit new.Copy !req
42. Letitia Jones... Sir. Tish!Copy !req
43. Well, then, Tish.Copy !req
44. You just stand there
and look gorgeous.Copy !req
45. A glorious day.
Downing Street, rebuilt.Copy !req
46. The Cabinet in session.Copy !req
47. Let the work of government begin.Copy !req
48. Oh, go on, crack a smile.Copy !req
49. It's funny, isn't it? Albert?Copy !req
50. Funny? No? Little bit?Copy !req
51. Very funny, sir.Copy !req
52. But if we could
get down to business,Copy !req
53. there is the matter of policy,
of which we have very little.Copy !req
54. No, no, no, no. Before we start
all that, I just want to say...Copy !req
55. Thank you. Thank you, one and all,Copy !req
56. you ugly fat-faced bunch of wet,
snivelling traitors.Copy !req
57. Yes, quite... Very funny.Copy !req
58. Hm...Copy !req
59. You see, I'm not making myself
very clear. Funny is like this...Copy !req
60. Not funny is like this...Copy !req
61. And right now I'm not like...Copy !req
62. I'm like...Copy !req
63. Because you are traitors.Copy !req
64. Yes, you are! As soon as you
saw the vote swinging my way,Copy !req
65. you abandoned your parties and you
jumped on the Saxon bandwagon. So!Copy !req
66. This is your reward.Copy !req
67. Excuse me, Prime Minister, do you
mind my asking - what is that?Copy !req
68. A gas mask.
I beg your pardon?Copy !req
69. It's a gas mask.Copy !req
70. Yes, but, um...
why are you wearing it?Copy !req
71. I'm sorry?Copy !req
72. Because of the gas. What gas?Copy !req
73. This gas.Copy !req
74. You're insane!Copy !req
75. Home... What have you got,
computer, laptop, anything?Copy !req
76. jack, who are you phoning?
You can't tell anyone we're here!Copy !req
77. just some friends,
but there's no reply. Any good?Copy !req
78. I can show you the Saxon websites.
He's been around for ages...Copy !req
79. That's so weird.
It's the day after the election.Copy !req
80. That's only four days
after I met you.Copy !req
81. We went flying
all round the universe.Copy !req
82. While he was here all the time.Copy !req
83. You gonna tell us who he is?
He's a Time Lord.Copy !req
84. What about the rest of it? I mean,
who'd call himself "The Master"?
That's all you need to know.Copy !req
85. Come on, show me Harold Saxon.Copy !req
86. 'Martha, where are you?
I've got this new job!Copy !req
87. You won't believe it, they phoned me
out of the blue, I'm working for...Copy !req
88. Oh, like it matters! I'm sorry,
but you're not allowed in.Copy !req
89. Harold Saxon, a modern Churchill...Copy !req
90. It's the definitive think-piece
on the great man himself.Copy !req
91. Oh, come on, sweetheart,
you must've read it!Copy !req
92. Um, not really, sorry, I'm new.
Mr Saxon does like a pretty face.Copy !req
93. But I'm here to see Mrs Saxon.
You can't just go barging in.Copy !req
94. Mrs Saxon, Vivien Rook,
Sunday Mirror.Copy !req
95. You've heard of me.
Can't I just have an hour to myself?Copy !req
96. It's been a hell of a day.Copy !req
97. Oh, strike while the iron's hot,
that's what I say, Lucy...Copy !req
98. I can call you Lucy, can't I?Copy !req
99. Now everyone's talking about
Harold Saxon, but I thought...Copy !req
100. what about the wife?
All I need is 20 minutes.Copy !req
101. I think maybe we should wait.Copy !req
102. Oh, the headline's
waiting to print...Copy !req
103. The Power Behind The Throne.Copy !req
104. Really? Britain's First Lady.Copy !req
105. Gosh! Front page. Oh. Well.Copy !req
106. I suppose...
Ohh, go on then, 20 minutes!Copy !req
107. Excellent! Thank you!
Oh, oh, what was it... Oh, Tish...Copy !req
108. Now you can leave us alone.Copy !req
109. No, but... I'm supposed to sit in.Copy !req
110. No no... it's only a profile piece,Copy !req
111. you know, hair
and clothes and nonsense.Copy !req
112. There's a good girl,
out you go, that's it.Copy !req
113. Mrs Saxon, I have reason to believeCopy !req
114. that you're in very great danger.Copy !req
115. All of us, in fact... not just
the country, but the whole world.Copy !req
116. No, I beg of you. Hear me out.
What are you talking about?Copy !req
117. Your husband is not
who he says he is. I'm sorry.Copy !req
118. But it's a lie.Copy !req
119. Everything's a lie.Copy !req
120. I'm voting Saxon.Copy !req
121. He can tick my box, any day!Copy !req
122. Vote Saxon! Go Harry!Copy !req
123. I think Mr Saxon is exactly
what this country needs.Copy !req
124. He's a very fine man...Copy !req
125. and he's handsome, too.Copy !req
126. Former Minister of Defence, first
came to prominence when he shot down
the Racnoss on Christmas Eve...Copy !req
127. But he goes back years. He's famous.
Everyone knows the story.Copy !req
128. Look.Copy !req
129. Cambridge University, rugby blue,
won the athletics thing,Copy !req
130. wrote a novel, went into business,
marriage, everything,Copy !req
131. he's got a whole life.Copy !req
132. All of it, the school days, his
degree, even his mother and father,Copy !req
133. it's all invented.Copy !req
134. Look, Harold Saxon
never went to Cambridge,Copy !req
135. there was no Harold Saxon!Copy !req
136. The thing is, it's obvious.Copy !req
137. The forgery is screaming out,
and yet no-one can see it!Copy !req
138. It's as if he's mesmerised
the entire world.Copy !req
139. I think perhaps you
should leave now.Copy !req
140. 18 months ago, he became real.Copy !req
141. This is his first honest
to God appearance,Copy !req
142. just after the downfall
of Harriet Jones.Copy !req
143. And at the exact same time,
they launched the Archangel network.Copy !req
144. Mrs Rook, now stop it.
Even now, they've said that the...Copy !req
145. the Cabinet's gone into seclusion.Copy !req
146. What does that mean, seclusion?
How should I know?Copy !req
147. But I've got plenty
of research on you.Copy !req
148. Yes, good family, Roedean,
not especially bright,Copy !req
149. but essentially harmless,Copy !req
150. and that's why I'm asking you, Lucy,
I am begging you,Copy !req
151. if you have seen anything,
heard anything,Copy !req
152. even the slightest thing, that
would give you cause to doubt him.
I think...Copy !req
153. Yes?Copy !req
154. There was a time, when we first met,
I wondered...Copy !req
155. But he was so good to my father,
and he said...Copy !req
156. What? just tell me, sweetheart.
The thing is...Copy !req
157. I made my choice. I'm sorry?Copy !req
158. For better or for worse.Copy !req
159. Isn't that right, Harry?Copy !req
160. My faithful companion.Copy !req
161. Mr Saxon.Copy !req
162. Prime Minister. I was just...Copy !req
163. having a little joke with poor
little Lucy, I didn't mean...Copy !req
164. Oh, but you're absolutely right.Copy !req
165. Harold Saxon doesn't exist.Copy !req
166. Then tell me.Copy !req
167. Who are you? I am the Master.Copy !req
168. And these are my friends.Copy !req
169. I'm sorry.Copy !req
170. Can't you hear it, Mrs Rook?Copy !req
171. What d'you mean?Copy !req
172. The drumbeat.Copy !req
173. The drums are coming closerCopy !req
174. and closer...Copy !req
175. The lady doesn't like us. No...Copy !req
176. Silly lady. No...Copy !req
177. Dead lady.Copy !req
178. Harry, she knew everything!Copy !req
179. You promised,
you said Archangel was 100%.Copy !req
180. Um. 99. 98?Copy !req
181. But if she's asking questions,
then who else?Copy !req
182. How much time have we got?Copy !req
183. Tomorrow morning, I promise.Copy !req
184. That's when everything ends.Copy !req
185. But he's got the TARDIS...Copy !req
186. Maybe the Master went back in time,
and has been living here for decades.Copy !req
187. No. Why not? Worked for me.Copy !req
188. When he was stealing the TARDIS, all
I could do was fuse the coordinates.Copy !req
189. I locked them, permanently.Copy !req
190. He can only travel between
the year 100,000,000,000, and
the last place the TARDIS landed.Copy !req
191. Which is right here, right now.
Yeah, but... a little leeway?Copy !req
192. Well, 18 months.Copy !req
193. Tops. The most he could have
been here is 18 months.Copy !req
194. So how's he managed all this?Copy !req
195. The Master was always
sort of hypnotic,Copy !req
196. but this is on a massive scale.Copy !req
197. I was gonna vote for him. Really?
Well, it was before I even met you.Copy !req
198. And I liked him. Me, too.Copy !req
199. Why d'you say that?Copy !req
200. What was his policy,
what did he stand for?Copy !req
201. I dunno, he always sounded... good.Copy !req
202. Like you could trust him.Copy !req
203. just nice.Copy !req
204. He spoke about...Copy !req
205. I can't really remember,
but it was good.Copy !req
206. just the sound of his voice...
What's that? What?Copy !req
207. That! That tapping.
What are you doing?Copy !req
208. I don't know, it's nothing,
it's just... I don't know!Copy !req
209. Our Lord and Master is
speaking to his kingdom.Copy !req
210. Britain, Britain, Britain.Copy !req
211. What extraordinary times we've had.Copy !req
212. just a few years ago,
this world was so small.Copy !req
213. And then they came.
Out of the unknown.Copy !req
214. Falling from the skies.
You've seen it happen...Copy !req
215. Big Ben, destroyed.Copy !req
216. A spaceship over London.Copy !req
217. All those ghosts and metal men,
the Christmas Star...Copy !req
218. that came to kill.Copy !req
219. Time and time again,
and the Government told you nothing.Copy !req
220. Well, not me! Not Harold Saxon!Copy !req
221. Because my purpose here today
is to tell you this.Copy !req
222. Citizens of Great Britain...Copy !req
223. I have been contacted.Copy !req
224. A message, for humanity,
from beyond the stars.Copy !req
225. People of the Earth.
We come in peace.Copy !req
226. We bring you great gifts!Copy !req
227. We bring technology
and wisdom and protection.Copy !req
228. And all we ask in return
is your friendship.Copy !req
229. Aw! Sweet.Copy !req
230. And this species
has identified itself.Copy !req
231. They're called the Toclafane. What?Copy !req
232. And tomorrow morning,
they will appear. Not in secret!Copy !req
233. But to all of you.Copy !req
234. Diplomatic relations
with a new species will begin.Copy !req
235. Tomorrow, we take our place
in the universe.Copy !req
236. Every man, woman and child,
every teacher and chemistCopy !req
237. and lorry driver and farmer
and, oh, I don't know, every...Copy !req
238. Medical student?Copy !req
239. Out!Copy !req
240. All right?
Fine, yeah, fine... Martha?Copy !req
241. What are you doing? He knows
about me, what about my family?Copy !req
242. Don't tell them anything.
I'll do what I like!Copy !req
243. Mum! Oh, my God, you're there.Copy !req
244. Course I'm here, sweetheart.
You all right?Copy !req
245. I'm fine, I'm fine... Mum, has
there been anyone asking about me?Copy !req
246. Martha, I think, perhaps you
should come round. I can't, not now.Copy !req
247. It's your father, we've been talking,
and we thought we might give it a go.Copy !req
248. Don't be so daft, since when?
just come round.Copy !req
249. Come to the house. We can celebrate.Copy !req
250. You'd never get back with him in
a million years. Ask him yourself.Copy !req
251. Martha. It's me.
Dad? What are you doing there?Copy !req
252. Like your mother said. Come
round, we can explain everything.Copy !req
253. Dad. just say yes, or no.Copy !req
254. Is there someone else there?Copy !req
255. Yes! just run! Clive!
Listen to me, just run!Copy !req
256. You stupid man,
we're trying to help her...Copy !req
257. Martha, don't listen to him.
What's going on, Dad?Copy !req
258. He's dangerous! We've got
to get Martha away from him.Copy !req
259. I've gotta help them.Copy !req
260. That's exactly what they want,
it's a trap! I don't care!Copy !req
261. Get off!Copy !req
262. It is your fault! All of you!Copy !req
263. You voted Saxon! You did this!Copy !req
264. Corner!Copy !req
265. Mr Saxon, we have Condition Red
on the Jones Plan.Copy !req
266. We're taking them in.Copy !req
267. All of them. But I was helping you!Copy !req
268. Come on, Tish, pick up.Copy !req
269. Martha, can't talk now, we've just
made First Contact, did you see?Copy !req
270. What are you doing?
Get off! Linda, tell them!Copy !req
271. What's happening? Tish? It's
your fault, it's all your fault.Copy !req
272. I was helping you! Get off me!Copy !req
273. Martha! Get out of here, get out!Copy !req
274. Target identified! Martha, reverse!Copy !req
275. Take aim! Get out, now! Fire!Copy !req
276. Take him away!Copy !req
277. The only place he can go is
Planet Earth! Great idea! Careful!Copy !req
278. Martha. Listen to me, do as I say.
We've gotta ditch this car.Copy !req
279. Pull over. Right now!Copy !req
280. Martha, come on! Leo!Copy !req
281. Thank God. Leo, you've
gotta listen to me. Where are you?Copy !req
282. I'm in Brighton.
Yeah we came down with Boxer.Copy !req
283. Did you see that Saxon thing
on telly?Copy !req
284. Leo, listen to me,
don't go home, I'm telling you,Copy !req
285. don't phone mum, or dad,
or Tish, you've gotta hide.Copy !req
286. Shut up.
On my life, you've gotta trust me.Copy !req
287. Go to Boxer's, stay with him,
don't tell anyone, just hide.Copy !req
288. Ooh, nice little game of
hide and seek, I love that!Copy !req
289. But I'll find you, Martha Jones.Copy !req
290. Been a long time since we saw
each other, must be, what...Copy !req
291. 100 trillion years?Copy !req
292. Let them go, Saxon!Copy !req
293. Do you hear me? Let them go!Copy !req
294. I'm here.Copy !req
295. Doctor.Copy !req
296. Master.Copy !req
297. I like it when you use my name.
You chose it.Copy !req
298. Psychiatrist's field day.Copy !req
299. As you chose yours.Copy !req
300. The man who makes people better.Copy !req
301. How sanctimonious is that?Copy !req
302. So...Copy !req
303. Prime Minister, then.
I know! It's good, isn't it?Copy !req
304. Who are those creatures?Copy !req
305. There's no such thing as the
Toclafane, that's just a made-up
name, like the bogeyman.Copy !req
306. Do you remember all those
fairytales about the Toclafane
when we were kids?Copy !req
307. Back home?Copy !req
308. Where is it, Doctor?Copy !req
309. Gone. How can Gallifrey be gone?Copy !req
310. It burnt.Copy !req
311. And the Time Lords?Copy !req
312. Dead.Copy !req
313. And the Daleks...Copy !req
314. More or less.Copy !req
315. What happened to you?Copy !req
316. The Time Lords only resurrected meCopy !req
317. because they knew I'd be the
perfect warrior for a Time War.Copy !req
318. I was there when the Dalek Emperor
took control of the Cruciform.Copy !req
319. I saw it.Copy !req
320. I ran.Copy !req
321. I ran so far.Copy !req
322. Made myself human,
so they would never find me,Copy !req
323. because...Copy !req
324. I was so scared.Copy !req
325. I know.Copy !req
326. All of them?Copy !req
327. But not you. Which must mean...Copy !req
328. I was the only one who could end it.Copy !req
329. And I tried...
I did, I tried everything...Copy !req
330. What did it feel like, though?Copy !req
331. Two almighty civilisations burning.Copy !req
332. Ohh, tell me, how did that feel?Copy !req
333. Stop it!
You must have been like God.Copy !req
334. I've been alone ever since.Copy !req
335. But not any more.Copy !req
336. Don't you see?
All we've got is each other.Copy !req
337. Are you asking me out on a date?
You could stop this, right now!Copy !req
338. We could leave this planet, we can
fight across the constellations,Copy !req
339. if that's what you want.
But not on Earth!Copy !req
340. Too late.Copy !req
341. Why d'you say that? The drumming.Copy !req
342. Can't you hear it? I thought it
would stop, but it never does.Copy !req
343. It never, ever stops, inside my head.Copy !req
344. The drumming, Doctor,
the constant drumming.Copy !req
345. I could help you,
please let me help.Copy !req
346. It's everywhere.Copy !req
347. Listen, listen, listen!Copy !req
348. Here come the drums.Copy !req
349. Here come...Copy !req
350. the drums.Copy !req
351. What have you done?Copy !req
352. Tell me how you've done this?
What are those creatures? Tell me!Copy !req
353. Ooh look, you're on TV!
Stop it! Answer me!Copy !req
354. No, really, you're on telly!Copy !req
355. You and your little band,Copy !req
356. which, by the way, is ticking
every demographic box.Copy !req
357. So congratulations on that.Copy !req
358. Look, there you are! '... also
identifies himself as The Captain.Copy !req
359. 'They are known to be armed
and extremely dangerous.'Copy !req
360. You're public enemies
number one, two and three!Copy !req
361. Oh, and you can tell Handsome jackCopy !req
362. that I've sent his little gang
off on a wild goose chase
to the Himalayas,Copy !req
363. so he won't be getting
any help from them.Copy !req
364. Now go on, off you go. Why not
start by turning to the right?Copy !req
365. He can see us!Copy !req
366. Ooh, you public menace!Copy !req
367. Better start running! Go on! Run!Copy !req
368. He's got control of everything.
What do we do?Copy !req
369. We've got nowhere to go.Copy !req
370. Doctor, what do we do?Copy !req
371. 'Run, Doctor! 'Copy !req
372. Run for your life!Copy !req
373. We run.Copy !req
374. I said, "RUN!"Copy !req
375. Tomorrow morning,
Britain will be welcoming
an extraterrestrial species...Copy !req
376. The President is said to be furious
that Great Britain has taken
unilateral action...Copy !req
377. Have you seen these things?Copy !req
378. This planet's amazing.Copy !req
379. Television... in their stomach.Copy !req
380. Now that is evolution!Copy !req
381. Is the Machine ready?Copy !req
382. Tomorrow morning.Copy !req
383. It reaches critical at 8.02
precisely.Copy !req
384. We have to escape! Because
it's coming, sir, the darkness!Copy !req
385. The never-ending darkness!Copy !req
386. The terrible, terrible cold!
We have to run and run and run...Copy !req
387. Eight o'clock, tomorrow morning.Copy !req
388. Tell your people...
the world is waiting.Copy !req
389. How was it? I don't think
anyone saw me. Anything new?Copy !req
390. This is tuned into the government
wavelength to see what Saxon's doing.
I meant about my family!Copy !req
391. Still says the Jones family
taken in for questioning.Copy !req
392. Tell you what, though.Copy !req
393. No mention of Leo.
He's not as daft as he looks.Copy !req
394. I'm talking about my brother
on the run. How did this happen?Copy !req
395. Nice chips.
Actually, they're not bad.Copy !req
396. So, Doctor...Copy !req
397. Who is he?Copy !req
398. How come the Ancient Society of
Time Lords created a psychopath?Copy !req
399. And what is he to you?
Like a colleague or...?
A friend, at first.Copy !req
400. I thought you were gonna say he was
your secret brother or something.Copy !req
401. You've been watching too much TV.Copy !req
402. All the legends of Gallifrey
made it sound so perfect.
Well, perfect to look at, maybe.Copy !req
403. And it was. It was beautiful.Copy !req
404. They used to call it the Shining
World of the Seven Systems...Copy !req
405. and on the continent
of Wild Endeavour...Copy !req
406. in the mountains
of Solace and Solitude...Copy !req
407. there stood
the Citadel of the Time Lords...Copy !req
408. the oldest and most mighty
race in the universe...Copy !req
409. Looking down
on the galaxies below.Copy !req
410. Sworn never to interfere.Copy !req
411. Only to watch.Copy !req
412. Children of Gallifrey,Copy !req
413. taken from their families at the
age of eight, to enter the Academy.Copy !req
414. Some say that's where it all began.Copy !req
415. When he was a child.Copy !req
416. That's when the Master saw eternity.Copy !req
417. As a novice,
he was taken for initiation.Copy !req
418. He stood in front
of the Untempered Schism -Copy !req
419. it's a gap
in the fabric of reality,Copy !req
420. through which could be seen
the whole of the Vortex.Copy !req
421. You stand there.Copy !req
422. Eight years old.Copy !req
423. Staring at the raw power
of time and space. Just a child.Copy !req
424. Some would be inspired.Copy !req
425. Some would run away.Copy !req
426. And some would go mad.Copy !req
427. Oh, I don't know. What about you?Copy !req
428. Oh, the ones that ran away.Copy !req
429. I never stopped.Copy !req
430. Encrypted channel,
with files attached.Copy !req
431. Don't recognise it...
Patch it through to the laptop.Copy !req
432. Um, since we're telling stories,
there's something I haven't told you.Copy !req
433. You work for Torchwood?
It's changed. There's only
half a dozen of us now...Copy !req
434. Everything Torchwood did and
you're part of it? The old regime
was destroyed at Canary Wharf.Copy !req
435. I rebuilt it, I changed it
and when I did that, I did it
for you. In your honour.Copy !req
436. If I haven't returned
to my desk by 22.00, this file
will be e-mailed to Torchwood,Copy !req
437. which means, if you're
watching this, then I'm...Copy !req
438. Anyway,
the Saxon files are attached.Copy !req
439. But take a look
at the Archangel document.Copy !req
440. That's when it all started,
when Harry SaxonCopy !req
441. became Minister in charge of
launching the Archangel Network.Copy !req
442. What's the Archangel Network?Copy !req
443. I've got Archangel, everyone does.
The mobile phone network. Look.Copy !req
444. It's gone worldwide.
15 satellites in orbit.Copy !req
445. Even the other networks,
they're all carried by Archangel.Copy !req
446. It's in the phones!
Oh, I said he was a hypnotist!Copy !req
447. Wait, wait, wait, hold on...Copy !req
448. There it is.Copy !req
449. That rhythm. It's everywhere.Copy !req
450. Ticking away in the subconscious.Copy !req
451. What is it, mind control?
No, subtler than that. Any stronger
and people would question it.Copy !req
452. But contained in that rhythm,
in layers of code, "Vote Saxon.
Believe in me."Copy !req
453. Whispering to the world. Oh! Yes!
That's how he hid himself from me!Copy !req
454. I should've sensed another
Time Lord on Earth,
but the signal cancelled him out!Copy !req
455. Any way you can stop it?
Not from down here.Copy !req
456. But now we know how he's doing it...
We can fight back! Oh, yes!Copy !req
457. Three TARDIS keys, with low-level
perception properties, because the
TARDIS is designed to blend in.Copy !req
458. Well, sort of,
but now, the Archangel Network's
got a second low-level signal.Copy !req
459. Weld the key to the network and...
Martha, look at me.
You can see me, yes? Yep!Copy !req
460. What about now?Copy !req
461. No, I'm here, look at me.Copy !req
462. It's like... I know you're there,
but I don't want to know.Copy !req
463. Back again! See? It just shifts
your perception a tiny bit.Copy !req
464. Doesn't make us invisible,
just unnoticed.Copy !req
465. Oh! I know what it's like!
It's like...Copy !req
466. It's like when you fancy someone and
they don't even know you exist.Copy !req
467. That's what it's like.Copy !req
468. Come on!Copy !req
469. You too, huh?Copy !req
470. Don't run.Copy !req
471. Don't shout.
just keep your voice down.Copy !req
472. Draw attention to yourself
and the spell is broken.Copy !req
473. just keep to the shadows.Copy !req
474. Like ghosts.
Yeah. That's what we are.Copy !req
475. Ghosts.Copy !req
476. And as the eyes of the world
turn towards Great Britain,Copy !req
477. sources indicate that Air Force One
has landed on British soil tonight.Copy !req
478. Mr President, sir!Copy !req
479. Mr Saxon,
the British Army will stand down.Copy !req
480. From now on, UNIT has
control of this operation.Copy !req
481. You make it sound like an invasion.Copy !req
482. The First Contact Policy was decided
by the Security Council in 1968
and you've just ignored it!Copy !req
483. Well, you know what it's like -
new job, all that paperwork.Copy !req
484. I think it's down the back of
the settee. I had a quick look.Copy !req
485. I found a pen, a sweet, a bus ticket
and, er... Have you met the wife?Copy !req
486. I'm not sure what your game is,
but there are provisions at the UN
to have you removed from officeCopy !req
487. unless you are very, very careful!
Is that understood?Copy !req
488. Are you taking this seriously?Copy !req
489. To business. We've accessed
your files on these... Toclafane.Copy !req
490. But First Contact cannot take place
on any sovereign soil.Copy !req
491. To that purpose, Aircraft
Carrier Valiant is en route.Copy !req
492. The rendezvous will
take place there, at 8am.Copy !req
493. You're trying my patience, sir!Copy !req
494. So America is completely in charge?Copy !req
495. Since Britain elected an ass, yes!
See you on board the Valiant!Copy !req
496. It still will be televised, though,
won't it? Because I promised.Copy !req
497. And the whole world is watching.Copy !req
498. Since it's too late to pull out,
the world will be watching...Copy !req
499. Me!Copy !req
500. The last President of America.Copy !req
501. We have a private plane
ready and waiting.Copy !req
502. We should reach the Valiant
within the hour.Copy !req
503. My darling...Copy !req
504. Hi, guys!Copy !req
505. All... All will be revealed!Copy !req
506. Oh, my God! Don't move.Copy !req
507. But the... Don't!Copy !req
508. I'm gonna kill him!Copy !req
509. What say I use this perception
filter to walk up behind him
and break his neck?Copy !req
510. Now that sounds like Torchwood.Copy !req
511. Still a good plan.Copy !req
512. He's a Time Lord.Copy !req
513. Which makes him my responsibility.
I'm not here to kill him.Copy !req
514. I'm here to save him.Copy !req
515. Aircraft Carrier Valiant.Copy !req
516. That's a UNIT ship,
at 58.2 North, 10.02 East.Copy !req
517. How do we get on board?
Does that thing work as a teleport?Copy !req
518. Since you revamped it, yeah.Copy !req
519. Co-ordinates set.Copy !req
520. That thing is rough! Oh,
I've had worse nights! Agh!Copy !req
521. Welcome to the Valiant.Copy !req
522. It's dawn...Copy !req
523. Hold on, I thought this was
a ship. Where's the sea?
A ship for the 21st century.Copy !req
524. Protecting the
skies of Planet Earth!Copy !req
525. Europe now online.Copy !req
526. Awaiting confirmation from South
America. Keep tracking Japan.Copy !req
527. I want the whole thing branded
with my Seal of Office,
not the UN, you got that?Copy !req
528. Anything I can do? I could make tea?
Or isn't that American enough?Copy !req
529. I don't know, I could make grits!
What are grits, anyway?Copy !req
530. If you could just sit.Copy !req
531. Misery guts!Copy !req
532. What d'you think?
It's good, isn't it?Copy !req
533. It's beautiful.
Some of my best work.Copy !req
534. I helped design this place.Copy !req
535. Every detail.Copy !req
536. We don't have time for sight-seeing!
No, no, wait, shhh.Copy !req
537. Can't you hear it? Hear what?Copy !req
538. Doctor, my family's on board.
Brilliant!Copy !req
539. This way!Copy !req
540. Oh, at last! Oh, yes!
What's it doing on the Valiant?Copy !req
541. What the hell has he done?
Don't touch it! Not going to!Copy !req
542. What's he done, though?Copy !req
543. Sounds like it's... sick.
It can't be.Copy !req
544. No, no, no, no, no, no,
it can't be. Doctor, what is it?Copy !req
545. He's cannibalised the TARDIS.
Is this what I think it is?Copy !req
546. It's a Paradox Machine.Copy !req
547. Two minutes, everyone.Copy !req
548. According to the treaty, all armed
personnel are requested to leave the
Flight Deck immediately, thank you.Copy !req
549. jelly baby?
Broadcasting at 7.58,Copy !req
550. with the arrival
timed for 0800 hours exactly.Copy !req
551. And good luck to all of us.Copy !req
552. Soon as this hits red,
it activates.Copy !req
553. At this speed, it'll trigger
at two minutes past eight.Copy !req
554. First contact is at eight, then
two minutes later. What's it for?Copy !req
555. What does a Paradox Machine do?
Can you stop it?Copy !req
556. Not till I know what it's doing...
touch the wrong bit,
blow up the solar system.Copy !req
557. Then we've gotta get to the Master!
How we gonna stop him?Copy !req
558. Oh, I've got a way.
Sorry, didn't I mention it?Copy !req
559. And in just 30 seconds' time, we'll
be going live to First Contact.Copy !req
560. It's been announced that
Harold Saxon has invited President
Winters to take the address.Copy !req
561. It's 3am in the morning
on the Eastern Seaboard,Copy !req
562. and President Winters
has been chosen to lead
the world into a new age.Copy !req
563. My fellow Americans, patriots,
people of the world.Copy !req
564. I stand before you today
as ambassador for humanity.Copy !req
565. A role I will undertake
with the utmost solemnity.Copy !req
566. Perhaps our Toclafane cousins
can offer us much,Copy !req
567. but what is important is not
that we gain material benefits,Copy !req
568. but that we learn
to see ourselves anew.Copy !req
569. For as long as man has looked
to the stars, he has wondered
what mysteries they hold.Copy !req
570. Now we know we are not alone.Copy !req
571. If I can get this
around the Master's neck,Copy !req
572. cancel out his perception,
they'll see him for real.Copy !req
573. It's just hard to go unnoticed
when everyone is on red alert.Copy !req
574. If they stop me, you've got a key.
Yes, sir. I'll get him.Copy !req
575. And I ask you now,
I ask of the Human Race,Copy !req
576. to join with me
in welcoming our friends.Copy !req
577. I give you the Toclafane.Copy !req
578. My name is Arthur Coleman Winters,
President Elect of the
United States of AmericaCopy !req
579. and Designated Representative
of the United Nations.Copy !req
580. I welcome you to the Planet Earth
and its associated Moon.Copy !req
581. You're not the Master.
We like the Mr Master.Copy !req
582. We don't like you.Copy !req
583. I can be master, if you so wish.Copy !req
584. I will accept mastery over you,
if that is God's will.Copy !req
585. Man is stupid.Copy !req
586. Master is our friend.Copy !req
587. Where's my Master, pretty please?Copy !req
588. Ohh, all right, then.
It's me! Ta-daa!Copy !req
589. Ha-ha! Sorry!Copy !req
590. Sorry, I have this effect, people
just get obsessed! Is it the smile?Copy !req
591. Is it the aftershave? Is it
the capacity to laugh at myself?
I don't know! It's crazy!Copy !req
592. Saxon, what are you talking about?Copy !req
593. I'm taking control, Uncle Sam,
starting with you.Copy !req
594. Kill him!Copy !req
595. Guards!
Nobody move! Nobody move!Copy !req
596. Now then! Peoples of the Earth,
please attend carefully.Copy !req
597. Stop him!Copy !req
598. We meet at last, Doctor.
O- ho... I love saying that!Copy !req
599. Stop this, stop it now!
As if a perception filter's
gonna work on me!Copy !req
600. And look, it's the girlie
and the freak, although
I'm not sure which one's which.Copy !req
601. Laser screwdriver, who'd have sonic?Copy !req
602. The good thing is, he's not dead
for long, I get to kill him again!Copy !req
603. Master, just calm down, just look
at what you're doing, just stop...
If you could see yourself.Copy !req
604. Do excuse me, little bit
of personal business,
back in a minute. Let him go.Copy !req
605. It's that sound, the sound in
your head, what if I can help?Copy !req
606. Oh! How to shut him up?Copy !req
607. I know! Memory Lane!Copy !req
608. Professor Lazarus, remember him,
and his Genetic Manipulation Device?Copy !req
609. Did you think little "Tish"
got that job by coincidence?Copy !req
610. I've been laying traps for you all
this time, and if I can concentrateCopy !req
611. all that Lazarus technology
into one little screwdriver...Copy !req
612. but, ooh, if only I had
the Doctor's biological code...Copy !req
613. Oh, wait a minute, I do!Copy !req
614. I've got his hand!Copy !req
615. And if Lazarus made himself younger,
what if I reverse it?Copy !req
616. Another 100 years?Copy !req
617. Teleport. I can't!Copy !req
618. We can't stop him.
Get out of here.Copy !req
619. Get out!Copy !req
620. Doctor, I've got you.Copy !req
621. Ah, she's a would be doctor.Copy !req
622. But tonight, Martha Jones,Copy !req
623. we've flown 'em in,
all the way from prison...Copy !req
624. Mum! I'm sorry.Copy !req
625. The Toclafane...Copy !req
626. What are they? Who are they?Copy !req
627. Doctor, if I told you the truth...Copy !req
628. your hearts would break.Copy !req
629. Is it time? Is it ready?Copy !req
630. Is the machine singing?Copy !req
631. Two minutes past!Copy !req
632. So, earthlings...Copy !req
633. Basically, um...Copy !req
634. end of the world!Copy !req
635. Here... come... the drums!Copy !req
636. "Voodoo Child"
by Rogue TradersCopy !req
637. How many d'you think?
I... I don't know!Copy !req
638. Six billion.Copy !req
639. Down you go, kids!Copy !req
640. Shall we decimate them?Copy !req
641. That sounds good, nice word -
decimate.Copy !req
642. Remove one tenth
of the population!Copy !req
643. 'This is Geneva! We're getting
slaughtered down here!Copy !req
644. 'Help us! Help us! 'Copy !req
645. 'This is London! This is London
calling! What do we do?Copy !req
646. 'They're killing us!
The Toclafane are killing us! 'Copy !req
647. I'm coming back.Copy !req
648. And so it came to pass
that the Human Race fell,Copy !req
649. and the Earth was no more.Copy !req
650. And I looked down upon my new
dominion, as Master of all,Copy !req
651. and I thought it good.Copy !req
652. Subtitles Ripped by
Mighty_MarvelCopy !req
653. Ever since I was a child,
I looked into the Vortex.Copy !req
654. That's when it chose me.Copy !req
655. The drumming, the call to war.Copy !req
656. Can't you hear it?Copy !req
