2. There's a strange man
in my bedroom.Copy !req
3. No.Copy !req
4. - Mum?
- I'm in town.Copy !req
5. Look, just go home!
Just go home right now.Copy !req
6. Darling, you're breaking up.Copy !req
7. - Mum?
- (Glass breaks)Copy !req
8. Right, then! I'll be off.Copy !req
9. Unless... I don't know.
You could come with me.Copy !req
10. - Is it always this dangerous?
- Yeah.Copy !req
11. How long have I been gone?Copy !req
12. About 12 hours.Copy !req
13. Oh! Right, I won't be long.
I just want to see my mum.Copy !req
14. - What're you gonna tell her?
- I don't know.Copy !req
15. I've been to the year
five billionCopy !req
16. and only been gone,
what, 12 hours?Copy !req
17. No, I'll just tell her
I spent the night at sharine's.Copy !req
18. See you later.Copy !req
19. Oh! Don't you disappear.Copy !req
20. I'm back! Sharine,
she's all upset again.Copy !req
21. Are you in?Copy !req
22. So, what's been going on?
How've you been?Copy !req
23. What? What's that face for? It's not
the first time I stayed out all night.Copy !req
24. It's you.Copy !req
25. Course it's me.Copy !req
26. Oh, my god, it's you.
Oh, my god.Copy !req
27. It's not 12 hours,
it's 12 months.Copy !req
28. You've been gone a whole year.
Sorry! (Sighs)Copy !req
29. The hours I sat here,
days and weeks and months.Copy !req
30. All on my own!
I thought you were dead.Copy !req
31. And where were you? Travelling!Copy !req
32. What the hell does that mean,
traveling?Copy !req
33. That's no sort of answer!Copy !req
34. You ask her, she won't tell me.Copy !req
35. That's all she says,
"travelling".Copy !req
36. - That's what I was doing.
- Well, your passport's still in the drawer.Copy !req
37. It's just one lie after another!Copy !req
38. I meant to phone,
I really did. I just... I forgot.Copy !req
39. What, for a year?
You forgot for a year?Copy !req
40. And I'm left sitting here?Copy !req
41. I just don't believe you!Copy !req
42. Why won't you tell me
where you've been?Copy !req
43. Actually, it's my fault.Copy !req
44. I sort of employed Rose
as my companion.Copy !req
45. When you say companion,
is this a sexual relationship?Copy !req
46. - No!
- No!Copy !req
47. Then what is it?Copy !req
48. Because you,
you waltz in here, all charm and smiles,Copy !req
49. and the next thing I know,
she vanishes off the face of the earth!Copy !req
50. How old are you, then, 40, 45?Copy !req
51. What, did you find her
on the Internet?Copy !req
52. Did you go online
and pretend you're a doctor?Copy !req
53. - I am a doctor.
- Prove it. Stitch this, mate.Copy !req
54. Did you think about me at all?Copy !req
55. I did, all the time, but...Copy !req
56. One phone call.
Just to know that you were alive.Copy !req
57. (Sniffles)
I'm sorry, I really am.Copy !req
58. But do you know what terrifies
me is that you still can't say.Copy !req
59. What happened to you, Rose?Copy !req
60. What can be so bad
that you can't tell me, sweetheart?Copy !req
61. Where were you?Copy !req
62. I can't tell her.
I can't even begin.Copy !req
63. She's never gonna forgive me.Copy !req
64. And I missed a year.
Was it good?Copy !req
65. - Middling.
- You're so useless.Copy !req
66. Well, if it's this much
trouble, are you gonna stay here now?Copy !req
67. (Sighs) I don't know.Copy !req
68. Can't do that to her again,
though.Copy !req
69. Well, she's not coming with us.Copy !req
70. - No chance!
- I don't do families.Copy !req
71. She slapped you!Copy !req
72. 900 years of time and space, and I've never
been slapped by someone's mother.Copy !req
73. Your face.Copy !req
74. - It hurt!
- You're so gay!Copy !req
75. When you say 900 years...Copy !req
76. That's my age.Copy !req
77. - You're 900 years old.
- Yeah.Copy !req
78. My mum was right.
That is one hell of an age gap. (Huffs)Copy !req
79. Ugh!Copy !req
80. Every conversation
with you just goes mental.Copy !req
81. There's no one else
I can talk to.Copy !req
82. I've seen all that stuff
up there,Copy !req
83. the size of it,
and I can't say a word.Copy !req
84. Aliens and spaceships
and things,Copy !req
85. and I'm the only person
on planet earth who knows they exist.Copy !req
86. Oh, that's just not fair.Copy !req
87. All right, all right! Keep
your hair on! It's not my fault, is it?Copy !req
88. I can't move anywhere!Copy !req
89. Ah, just my luck.Copy !req
90. Stay back, please.
Back, thank you.Copy !req
91. It's blocked off.Copy !req
92. (Panting) We're miles
from the centre.Copy !req
93. The city must be gridlocked.Copy !req
94. The whole of London
must be closing down.Copy !req
95. I know, I can't believe
I'm here to see this. This is fantastic.Copy !req
96. - Did you know this was going to happen?
- Nope!Copy !req
97. - Do you recognise the ship?
- Nope!Copy !req
98. - Do you know why it crashed?
- Nope!Copy !req
99. Oh, I'm so glad I got you.Copy !req
100. I bet you are.
This is what I travel for, Rose,Copy !req
101. to see history happening
right in front of us.Copy !req
102. (Sighs) Well, let's go
and see it.Copy !req
103. Never mind the traffic.
We've got the tardis.Copy !req
104. Hmm, better not.Copy !req
105. They've already got
one spaceship in the middle of London.Copy !req
106. And I don't wanna shove
another one on top.Copy !req
107. Yeah, but yours looks like a big,
blue box. No one's gonna notice.Copy !req
108. You'd be surprised,
an emergency like this.Copy !req
109. There'll be all kinds
of people watching.Copy !req
110. Trust me, the tardis
stays where it is.Copy !req
111. So history's happening,
and we're stuck here?Copy !req
112. Yes, we are.Copy !req
113. We could do
what everybody else does.Copy !req
114. We could watch it on TV.Copy !req
115. Male newscaster: Big Ben destroyed as a
ufo crash-lands in central London.Copy !req
116. Police reinforcements
are drafted in from across the countryCopy !req
117. to control widespread panic,
looting and civil disturbance.Copy !req
118. A state of national emergency
has been declared.Copy !req
119. Tom hitchingson is at the scene.Copy !req
120. The police urge the public
not to panic.Copy !req
121. Here's the helpline number
on screen right now,Copy !req
122. if you're worried
about friends or family.Copy !req
123. The military
are on the lookout for more spaceships.Copy !req
124. Until then, all flights in north American
airspace have been grounded.Copy !req
125. The army are sending
divers into the wreck of the spaceship.Copy !req
126. No one knows
what they're going to find.Copy !req
127. The president will address the nation
live from the white house,Copy !req
128. but the secretary general
has asked that people watch the skies.Copy !req
129. - I've got no choice.
- You've broken your mother's heart.Copy !req
130. - Either I make him welcome...
- She's sobbing in my arms.Copy !req
131. - Or I risk never seeing you again.
- I cradled her like a child!Copy !req
132. Oi! I'm trying to listen!Copy !req
133. News is just coming in.Copy !req
134. And we can go to Tom
at the embankment.Copy !req
135. They've found a body.Copy !req
136. It's unconfirmed,
but I'm being toldCopy !req
137. that a body has been found
in the wreckage,Copy !req
138. a body
of non-terrestrial origins.Copy !req
139. It's being brought ashore.Copy !req
140. A body of some sort has been found
inside the wreckage of a spacecraft.Copy !req
141. Guess who asked me out?
Billy croot!Copy !req
142. Unconfirmed reports say the
body is of extra-terrestrial origin.Copy !req
143. An extraordinary event
unfolding here live in central London.Copy !req
144. The body is being transferred
to a secure unit mortuary.Copy !req
145. The whereabouts as yet unknown.Copy !req
146. The roads in central...Copy !req
147. And when you stuff your fins
on, you can cover the whole lotCopy !req
148. with butter cream.
Oh, look at that!Copy !req
149. Then ice it any colour you want.Copy !req
150. And here's one I made
a little bit earlier. And look at that!Copy !req
151. Your very own
spaceship, ready to eat.Copy !req
152. And for something
a little extra special...Copy !req
153. Albion hospital.Copy !req
154. We still don't know
if it's alive or dead.Copy !req
155. Whitehall is denying everything.Copy !req
156. But the body has
been brought here.Copy !req
157. Albion hospital. With the roads closed
off, it's the closest to the river.Copy !req
158. Go on.Copy !req
159. I'm being told that's general
asquith now entering the hospital.Copy !req
160. The building's evacuated,
patients moved out onto the streets.Copy !req
161. The police still won't confirm
the presence of an alien bodyCopy !req
162. contained inside those walls.Copy !req
163. Let's have a look, then.Copy !req
164. Good god!Copy !req
165. And that's real?Copy !req
166. It's not a hoax
or a dummy, or...Copy !req
167. I've x-rayed the skull. (Sighs)Copy !req
168. It's wired up
inside like nothing I've ever seen before.Copy !req
169. No one could make this up.Copy !req
170. We've got experts
being flown in.Copy !req
171. Until they arrive,
get that out of sight.Copy !req
172. Excuse me, sir.Copy !req
173. I know it's a state of emergency and
there's a lot of rumour flying around,Copy !req
174. but is it true
what they're saying?Copy !req
175. About the prime minister?Copy !req
176. Mystery still surrounds
the whereabouts of the prime minister.Copy !req
177. He's not been seen since
the emergency began.Copy !req
178. The opposition are criticising
his lack of leadership...Copy !req
179. Hold on.Copy !req
180. Oh, that's Joseph green,
mp for hartley Dale.Copy !req
181. He's chairman of the
parliamentary commissionCopy !req
182. on the monitoring of sugar
standards in exported confectionery.Copy !req
183. With respect,
hardly the most important person right now.Copy !req
184. Indra Ganesh, sir.
Junior secretary with the mod.Copy !req
185. I'll be your liaison.Copy !req
186. Where the hell is he?Copy !req
187. If we could talk in private,
sir? Follow me upstairs.Copy !req
188. Excuse me.Copy !req
189. Harriet Jones.
Mp for flydale north.Copy !req
190. I'm sorry. Can it wait?Copy !req
191. But I did have
an appointment at 3:15.Copy !req
192. Yes, and then a spaceship
crashed in the middle of London.Copy !req
193. Think the schedule
might've changed.Copy !req
194. You've heard
about the alien body, sir?Copy !req
195. Never mind that. Where is he?Copy !req
196. Where's the prime minister?Copy !req
197. No one knows, sir.
He's disappeared.Copy !req
198. I have to inform you that
with the city gridlockedCopy !req
199. and the cabinet stranded
outside London,Copy !req
200. that makes you acting prime
minister with immediate effect.Copy !req
201. Oh, lord! Oh, hold on. (Farts)Copy !req
202. Pardon me.
It's a nervous stomach.Copy !req
203. Anyway.Copy !req
204. Margaret Blaine, she's with mi5.Copy !req
205. There's no more
information, sir.Copy !req
206. I personally escorted the prime minister
from the cabinet room to his car.Copy !req
207. This is Oliver Charles,
transport liaison.Copy !req
208. The car's disappeared.
There's no record of it, sir.Copy !req
209. It literally vanished.Copy !req
210. Right. Inside.
Tell me everything.Copy !req
211. Er, sir?Copy !req
212. The emergency protocols,Copy !req
213. detailing the actions to be taken
by the government of Great BritainCopy !req
214. in the event
of an alien incursion.Copy !req
215. Right. Good!Copy !req
216. (Farts) Blimey!Copy !req
217. Pardon me.Copy !req
218. Let's work, eh?Copy !req
219. And where do you think
you're going?Copy !req
220. Nowhere.Copy !req
221. It's just a bit human
in there for me.Copy !req
222. History just happened, and they're
talking about where they can buyCopy !req
223. dodgy top-up cards
for half price.Copy !req
224. I'm off on a wander, that's all.Copy !req
225. Right. There's a spaceship
on the thames, and you're just wandering.Copy !req
226. Nothing to do with me.
It's not an invasion.Copy !req
227. That was a genuine
crash-landing.Copy !req
228. Angle of descent, colour of
smoke, everything. It was perfect.Copy !req
229. - So?
- So, maybe this is it!Copy !req
230. First contact.Copy !req
231. The day mankind officially
comes into contact with an alien race.Copy !req
232. I'm not interfering,
'cause you gotta handle this on your own.Copy !req
233. That's when the human race
finally grows up.Copy !req
234. Just this morning
you were tiny and small and made of Clay.Copy !req
235. Now you can expand! (Laughs)Copy !req
236. You don't need me.
Go and celebrate history.Copy !req
237. Spend some time with your mum.Copy !req
238. Promise you won't disappear?Copy !req
239. Tell you what. Tardis key.Copy !req
240. About time you had one.
See you later.Copy !req
241. Oi, gorgeous,
come back and join the party!Copy !req
242. Oh, my god!Copy !req
243. Oi! Doctor!Copy !req
244. Doctor!Copy !req
245. I bet no one's
brought you a coffee.Copy !req
246. - Thank you.
- Pleasure.Copy !req
247. You still can't go in.Copy !req
248. Damn, you've seen through
my cunning plan.Copy !req
249. Hmm. Look, I'm sorry,
it's just impossible.Copy !req
250. Not even for two minutes?Copy !req
251. I don't get many chances
to walk these corridors,Copy !req
252. I'm hardly one of the babes,
just a faithful backbencher.Copy !req
253. And I know we've had
a brave new worldCopy !req
254. land right on our doorstep,
and that's wonderful.Copy !req
255. I think
that's probably wonderful.Copy !req
256. Nevertheless, ordinary life
keeps ticking away.Copy !req
257. I need to enter this paper.Copy !req
258. Oh! Mr green, sir.Copy !req
259. I know you're busy, but could you put
this on the next cabinet agenda?Copy !req
260. - What is it?
- Cottage hospitals.Copy !req
261. I've worked out a systemCopy !req
262. whereby cottage hospitals do not have to be
excluded from centres of excellence.Copy !req
263. You see, my mother's
in the flydale infirmary,Copy !req
264. that's my constituency,
tiny little place, you wouldn't know it.Copy !req
265. But it's given me a chance to...Copy !req
266. By all the saints,
get some perspective, woman!Copy !req
267. I'm busy!Copy !req
268. Defence plan delta!
Come on, move! Move!Copy !req
269. It's alive.Copy !req
270. Spread out,
tell the perimeter it's a lockdown.Copy !req
271. Oh, my god, it's still alive!Copy !req
272. Do it!Copy !req
273. Mick! Terry! Side rooms! Now!Copy !req
274. Clear!Copy !req
275. Room clear!Copy !req
276. - Keep it moving!
- Clear!Copy !req
277. I swear, it was dead. (Panting)Copy !req
278. Coma, shock, hibernation,
anything. What does it look like?Copy !req
279. It's still here.Copy !req
280. Hello.Copy !req
281. Don't shoot!Copy !req
282. What did you do that for?
It was scared!Copy !req
283. It was scared!Copy !req
284. General asquith:
I've got the white house phoning me directCopy !req
285. because downing street
won't answer their call!Copy !req
286. This is outrageous.Copy !req
287. We haven't even started
the vaccination program.Copy !req
288. This is appalling.Copy !req
289. The nations of the world
are watching the United Kingdom.Copy !req
290. Well, it has all been
a bit of a shock.Copy !req
291. This is the greatest crisis in
modern history, and you've done nothing.Copy !req
292. Your behaviour
has been shameful, sir.Copy !req
293. You're supposed to be in charge.
We need positive leadership.Copy !req
294. The capital's ground to a halt.Copy !req
295. All the more, we can only assume that
the prime minister's disappearanceCopy !req
296. is the direct result
of hostile alien action.Copy !req
297. And what've you been doing?
Nothing!Copy !req
298. Sorry! Sorry.Copy !req
299. Uh, I thought
I was prime minister now.Copy !req
300. Only by default!Copy !req
301. Oh! That's not fair!Copy !req
302. I've been having such fun.Copy !req
303. You think this is fun?Copy !req
304. It's a hoot, this job.Copy !req
305. (Laughs) Honestly, it's super!Copy !req
306. (Farts) Oh! Excuse me!Copy !req
307. - (Farting)
- Oh! (Laughing)Copy !req
308. - What's going on here?
- (Laughing)Copy !req
309. And where's the rest of the cabinet? Why
haven't they been airlifted in?Copy !req
310. I cancelled it.
They'd only get in the way.Copy !req
311. - Oh! (Farting)
- (Giggling)Copy !req
312. I'm shaking my Booty. (Farts)Copy !req
313. - Ooh!
- Sir!Copy !req
314. Under section five
of the emergency protocols,Copy !req
315. it is my duty
to relieve you of command.Copy !req
316. And by god, I'll put this country
under martial law if I have to.Copy !req
317. - Oh! I'm scared!
- (Laughing)Copy !req
318. I mean, that's hair-raising.Copy !req
319. I mean, literally.Copy !req
320. Look!Copy !req
321. I just assumed
that's what aliens looked like.Copy !req
322. But you're saying
it's an ordinary pig, from earth.Copy !req
323. More like a mermaid.Copy !req
324. Victorian showmen
used to draw the crowdsCopy !req
325. by taking the skull of a cat,Copy !req
326. gluing it to a fish
and calling it a mermaid.Copy !req
327. Now someone's taken a pig,
opened up its brain, stuck bits on,Copy !req
328. then they've strapped it in
that ship, made it dive-bomb.Copy !req
329. It must've been terrified.Copy !req
330. They've taken this animal
and turned it into a joke.Copy !req
331. So it's a fake, a pretend,
like the mermaid.Copy !req
332. But the technology
augmenting its brain,Copy !req
333. it's like nothing on earth.Copy !req
334. It's alien.Copy !req
335. Aliens are faking aliens.Copy !req
336. Why would they do that?Copy !req
337. Doctor?Copy !req
338. Doctor?Copy !req
339. Here's to the martians!Copy !req
340. The martians!Copy !req
341. I was gonna come and see you.Copy !req
342. Someone owes Mickey an apology.Copy !req
343. - I'm sorry.
- Not you.Copy !req
344. Well, it's not my fault.Copy !req
345. Be fair,
what was I supposed to think?Copy !req
346. You disappear,
who do they turn to? Your boyfriend.Copy !req
347. Five times I was taken in
for questioning. Five times.Copy !req
348. No evidence. Of course!
There couldn't be, could there?Copy !req
349. And then I get her, your mother,Copy !req
350. whispering around the estate,
pointing her finger,Copy !req
351. stuff through my letter box,
and all 'cause of you!Copy !req
352. Didn't think
I'd be gone so long.Copy !req
353. And I waited for you, Rose!Copy !req
354. Twelve months. Waited for you
and the doctor to come back!Copy !req
355. Hold on!
You knew about the doctor?Copy !req
356. Why didn't you tell me?Copy !req
357. Yeah, yeah. Why not, Rose? Huh?Copy !req
358. How could I tell her
where you went?Copy !req
359. - Tell me now.
- I might as well, 'cause you're stuck here.Copy !req
360. The doctor's gone!Copy !req
361. Just now, that box thing
just faded away.Copy !req
362. - What do you mean?
- He's left you!Copy !req
363. Some boyfriend
he turned out to be.Copy !req
364. He wouldn't just go.
He promised me.Copy !req
365. Oh, he's dumped you, Rose!
Sailed off into space.Copy !req
366. How does it feel, huh?Copy !req
367. Now, you are left behind with
the rest of us earthlings.Copy !req
368. - Get used to it.
- He would've said.Copy !req
369. What are you two chimps
going on about?Copy !req
370. What's going on?
What's this doctor done now?Copy !req
371. (Laughs mockingly)
He's vamoosed.Copy !req
372. He's not!
'Cause he gave me this.Copy !req
373. - (Scoffs)
- He's not my boyfriend, Mickey.Copy !req
374. He's better than that.
He's much more important.Copy !req
375. And he...Copy !req
376. What's that sound?Copy !req
377. Mum? Mum, go inside!Copy !req
378. Mum, don't stand there!
Just go inside, just... mum! Oh, blimey.Copy !req
379. Huh?Copy !req
380. How'd you do that, then?Copy !req
381. All right, so I lied.
I went and had a look.Copy !req
382. But the whole crash landing's a fake.
I thought so. Just too perfect.Copy !req
383. I mean, hitting big Ben?
Come on.Copy !req
384. So I thought, "let's go
and have a look..."Copy !req
385. - My mum's here.
- (Door creaks open)Copy !req
386. Oh, that's just what I need.
Don't you dare make this place domestic!Copy !req
387. You ruined my life, doctor.
They thought she was dead.Copy !req
388. I was a murder suspect
because of you.Copy !req
389. See what I mean? Domestic!Copy !req
390. I bet you don't even
remember my name!Copy !req
391. - Ricky.
- It's Mickey.Copy !req
392. - No, it's Ricky.
- I think I know my own name.Copy !req
393. You think you know
your own name? How stupid are you?Copy !req
394. Mum, don't! Don't go anywhere!Copy !req
395. Don't start a fight.Copy !req
396. Mum! It's not like that,
he's not...Copy !req
397. I'll... I'll be up
in a minute! Hold on!Copy !req
398. That was a real spaceship?Copy !req
399. - Yep!
- So it was all a pack of lies.Copy !req
400. What is it, then,
that they're invading?Copy !req
401. Funny way to invade,
putting the world on red alert.Copy !req
402. Good point!
So, what're they up to?Copy !req
403. Female news reporter:
As the crisis continuesCopy !req
404. and the government
shows a remarkable lack of leadership,Copy !req
405. paranoia sweeps the country.Copy !req
406. There've been at least three
reports of public assaultsCopy !req
407. on people possibly
identified as aliens.Copy !req
408. Now back to Tom hitchingson.Copy !req
409. Are there
more ships to come?Copy !req
410. And what is their intention?Copy !req
411. The authorities
are now asking, if anyone knows anything,Copy !req
412. if any previous sighting has been
made, then call this number.Copy !req
413. We need your help.Copy !req
414. Yes! I've seen one, I really
have, an alien. And she's with him.Copy !req
415. My daughter, she's with him, and she's not
safe. Oh, my god, she's not safe.Copy !req
416. I've seen an alien, and I know
his name. He's called the doctor.Copy !req
417. It's a box, a blue box.
She called it a tardis.Copy !req
418. So what you doing down there?Copy !req
419. - Ricky.
- Mickey.Copy !req
420. Ricky.Copy !req
421. If I was to tell you
what I was doing to the controlsCopy !req
422. of my frankly magnificent
time ship,Copy !req
423. would you even
begin to understand?Copy !req
424. - I suppose not...
- Well, shut it, then.Copy !req
425. - Some friend you've got.
- He's winding you up.Copy !req
426. I am sorry.Copy !req
427. - Okay.
- I am, though.Copy !req
428. Every day, I looked.Copy !req
429. On every street corner,
wherever I went,Copy !req
430. looking for a blue box
for a whole year.Copy !req
431. It's only been
a few days for me.Copy !req
432. I don't know.
It's hard to tell inside this thing.Copy !req
433. But I swear,
it's just a few days since I left you.Copy !req
434. Not enough time
to miss me, then.Copy !req
435. I did miss you.Copy !req
436. I missed you.Copy !req
437. So, um, in 12 months...Copy !req
438. Have you been seeing
anyone else?Copy !req
439. Nope.Copy !req
440. Okay.Copy !req
441. Mainly 'cause everyone
thinks I murdered you.Copy !req
442. Right.Copy !req
443. So, now that you've come back,Copy !req
444. are you gonna stay?Copy !req
445. - (Electricity crackling)
- Got it! Ha-ha!Copy !req
446. Patched in the radar,
looped it back 12 hours,Copy !req
447. so it'll follow
the flight of that spaceship. Here we go.Copy !req
448. - (Clicks)
- Hold on.Copy !req
449. Come on!Copy !req
450. - (Beeping)
- That's the spaceship on its way to earth.Copy !req
451. See?Copy !req
452. Except... hold on.Copy !req
453. See? The spaceship
did a slingshotCopy !req
454. round the earth
before it landed.Copy !req
455. - Rose: What does that mean?
- Means it came from earth in the first place.Copy !req
456. It went up and came back down.Copy !req
457. Whoever those aliens are, they haven't just
arrived. They've been here for a while.Copy !req
458. Question is,
what've they been doing?Copy !req
459. What do you think?
How's the compression?Copy !req
460. I think I've got too much
ballast round the middle.Copy !req
461. (Farts) Ooh, that's better!Copy !req
462. We've really got to fix
the gas exchange. It's getting ridiculous.Copy !req
463. I don't know. Seems
very human to me.Copy !req
464. Uh, better get rid of his skin!Copy !req
465. Shame,
I quite enjoyed being Oliver.Copy !req
466. He had a wife,
a mistress and a young farmer.Copy !req
467. God, I was busy.Copy !req
468. Back to work!Copy !req
469. I have an army to command!Copy !req
470. Careful now.
We're not there yet.Copy !req
471. General asquith! Sir,
we've had a priority alarm.Copy !req
472. It's code nine,
confirmed code nine.Copy !req
473. Right. Good. Code nine, huh?
Which would mean?Copy !req
474. In the event
of the emergency protocols being activated,Copy !req
475. we've got software
which automatically searchesCopy !req
476. all communications for keywords.Copy !req
477. And one of those words
is "doctor".Copy !req
478. I think we've found him, sir.Copy !req
479. What sort of doctor? Who is he?Copy !req
480. Well, evidently, he's some sort of
expert in extraterrestrial affairs.Copy !req
481. The ultimate expert!
And we need him, sir.Copy !req
482. We need him here right now.Copy !req
483. - (People clamouring)
- (Sirens blaring)Copy !req
484. - How many channels you get?
- All the basic packages.Copy !req
485. - You get sports channels?
- Yes, I get the football.Copy !req
486. Hold on. I know that lot.Copy !req
487. Female reporter:
But it's looking likelyCopy !req
488. that the government's
bringing in alien specialists,Copy !req
489. those people who've devoted
their lives to studying outer space.Copy !req
490. Unit! United Nations
intelligence taskforce. Good people.Copy !req
491. How do you know them?Copy !req
492. 'Cause he's worked for them.Copy !req
493. Oh, yeah. Don't think
I sat on my backside for 12 months, doctor.Copy !req
494. I read up on you!Copy !req
495. You look deep enough
on the Internet or in the history books,Copy !req
496. and there's his name.Copy !req
497. Followed by a list of the dead.Copy !req
498. That's nice. Good boy, Ricky.Copy !req
499. If you know them,
why don't you go and help?Copy !req
500. They wouldn't recognise me.
I've changed a lot since the old days.Copy !req
501. Besides, the world's
on a knife edge.Copy !req
502. There's aliens out there,Copy !req
503. and fake aliens
wanna keep this alien out of the mix.Copy !req
504. - I'm going undercover.
- (Dinging)Copy !req
505. And, uh, better keep
the tardis out of sight. Ricky!Copy !req
506. You've got a car.
You can do some driving.Copy !req
507. Where to?Copy !req
508. The roads are clearing.
Let's go and have a look at that spaceship.Copy !req
509. Man on megaphone: Do not move!
Step away from the box!Copy !req
510. - Raise your hands above your head!
- (Sirens wailing)Copy !req
511. Rose!Copy !req
512. Rose! Rose!Copy !req
513. Take me to your leader!Copy !req
514. My daughter!Copy !req
515. This is a bit posh.Copy !req
516. If I knew it was gonna be like this, being
arrested, I would've done it years ago.Copy !req
517. We're not being arrested,
we're being escorted.Copy !req
518. - Where to?
- Where do you think?Copy !req
519. Downing street. (Laughs)Copy !req
520. - You're kidding!
- I'm not! (Laughs)Copy !req
521. - 10 downing street?
- That's the one!Copy !req
522. Oh, my god! I'm going
to 10 downing street?Copy !req
523. - How come?
- I hate to say it, but Mickey was right.Copy !req
524. Over the years, I've visited this
planet a lot of times, and I've been, uh,Copy !req
525. noticed.Copy !req
526. Now they need you.Copy !req
527. Like it said on the news, they're
gathering experts in alien knowledge.Copy !req
528. And who's
the biggest expert of the lot?Copy !req
529. - Patrick Moore?
- Apart from him.Copy !req
530. Oh, don't you just love it.Copy !req
531. Oh, I'm telling you, Lloyd George,
oh, he used to drink me under the table.Copy !req
532. Who's the prime minister now?Copy !req
533. How should I know?
I missed a year.Copy !req
534. Oh, my god!Copy !req
535. So she's all right, then?
She's not in any trouble?Copy !req
536. All I can say
is that your daughter and her companionCopy !req
537. might be in a position
to help the country. (Sighs)Copy !req
538. We'll need to know
how she made contact with this man,Copy !req
539. if he is a man.Copy !req
540. (Stomach rumbles) Ooh!Copy !req
541. Right, off you go, then.Copy !req
542. I need to talk with mrs Tyler
on my own, thank you.Copy !req
543. Harriet Jones,
mp, flydale north.Copy !req
544. Ladies and gentlemen,
can we convene? Quick as we can, please.Copy !req
545. It's this way on the right,
and can I remind youCopy !req
546. ID cards
are to be worn at all times.Copy !req
547. Here's your ID card.Copy !req
548. I'm sorry. Your companion
doesn't have clearance.Copy !req
549. I don't go anywhere without her.Copy !req
550. You're the code nine, not her.
I'm sorry, doctor.Copy !req
551. It's, uh, doctor, isn't it?Copy !req
552. - She'll have to stay outside.
- She's staying with me.Copy !req
553. Look, even I don't have
clearance to go in there.Copy !req
554. I can't let her in
and that's a fact.Copy !req
555. That's all right. You go.Copy !req
556. Excuse me. Are you the doctor?Copy !req
557. - Sure?
- Not now. We're busy. Can't you go home?Copy !req
558. I just need a word, in private!Copy !req
559. You haven't got clearance.
Now leave it!Copy !req
560. I'm gonna have to
leave you with security.Copy !req
561. It's all right,
I'll look after her. Let me be of some use.Copy !req
562. Walk with me. Just keep walking.Copy !req
563. That's right, don't look round.Copy !req
564. Harriet Jones.
Mp, flydale north.Copy !req
565. This friend of yours,
he's an expert, is that right?Copy !req
566. He knows about aliens?Copy !req
567. - Why do you wanna to know?
- (Sobbing)Copy !req
568. Ladies and gentlemen,
if I could have your attention, please.Copy !req
569. As you can see
from the summaries in front of you,Copy !req
570. the ship had one porcine pilot.Copy !req
571. Of course, the really interesting
bit happened three days ago, see?Copy !req
572. Filed away
under any other business,Copy !req
573. the north sea satellite
detected a signal,Copy !req
574. a little blip of radiation
at 100 fathoms.Copy !req
575. Like there's
something down there.Copy !req
576. You were just about
to investigate,Copy !req
577. and next thing you know,
this happens.Copy !req
578. Spaceships. Pigs.
Massive diversion. From what?Copy !req
579. They turn the body into a suit,
a disguise for the thing inside!Copy !req
580. It's all right, I believe you.Copy !req
581. It's... it's alien.Copy !req
582. They must have some serious
technology behind this.Copy !req
583. If we could find it,Copy !req
584. we could use it.Copy !req
585. Ooh!Copy !req
586. Oh, my god. Is that...Copy !req
587. Harriet, for god's sake!
This has gone beyond a joke.Copy !req
588. You cannot just wander...Copy !req
589. Oh, my god.Copy !req
590. That's the prime minister.Copy !req
591. If aliens fake an alien crash
and an alien pilot, what do they get?Copy !req
592. Us.Copy !req
593. They get us.Copy !req
594. It's not a diversion,
it's a trap.Copy !req
595. Oh!Copy !req
596. Has someone been naughty?Copy !req
597. It was bigger on the inside.Copy !req
598. I don't know. What do I know
about spaceships?Copy !req
599. That's what worries me.
You see, this man is classified as trouble,Copy !req
600. which means
that anyone associated with him is trouble.Copy !req
601. And that's my job.Copy !req
602. Eliminating trouble.Copy !req
603. But that's not possible.
He left this afternoon.Copy !req
604. The prime minister
left downing street. He was driven away!Copy !req
605. And who told you that?Copy !req
606. Hmm?Copy !req
607. Me!Copy !req
608. This is all about us.
Alien experts.Copy !req
609. The only people
with the knowledge how to find themCopy !req
610. gathered together in one room.Copy !req
611. Excuse me. Do you mind not
farting while I'm saving the world?Copy !req
612. Would you rather
silent but deadly?Copy !req
613. (Gasps) Ah!Copy !req
614. - (Snarling)
- (Continues laughing)Copy !req
615. We are the slitheen.Copy !req
616. - (Screams)
- (Growling)Copy !req
617. Thank you all
for wearing your ID cards.Copy !req
618. They'll help
to identify the bodies.Copy !req
619. - (Buzzing)
- (Groaning)Copy !req
620. Yesterday saw the start
of a brave new world.Copy !req
621. Today might see it end.Copy !req
622. Right! You want aliens, you've got
them. They're inside downing street.Copy !req
623. Come on!Copy !req
624. Planet earth is at war.Copy !req
625. Everybody run!Copy !req
626. - Who exactly are the slitheen?
- They're aliens.Copy !req
627. I could save the world
but lose you.Copy !req
