257. Here comes the ... ing helicopter landing down.

259. that's the last thing I remember.

260. The nurse did say, "You flat lined while you were

261. in there and the doctors brought you back 'cause

262. you lost too much blood."

377. I saw him get lit on fire and,

378. I think someone told him, like, stop, drop, and roll.

379. So, I stop, drop, and roll.

380. Get this, that shit don't even ... ing work.

381. I was still on fire and then they put me out.

382. And then finally, he took off his shirt and

383. it finally went out.

384. After that, I went into the back.

385. I never do that. It's one thing I don't do.

386. I do not run into the back.

387. I'll wait to the end of the show.

388. But this is one thing, I did go in the back.

389. He said he was okay, but I knew he wasn't.

390. - Oh, it burns! - Anywhere else?

391. - Is it like bubbling and shit? - It's skin.

393. That heat was tough. I finished that match.

394. Slammed down! Someone call 9-1-1!

395. Well... He was definitely not going to

396. physical therapy or exploring yoga opportunities.

397. I was popping heavy, ing,

398. you know, prescription pills, man.

399. I was popping percs and shit like that.

400. Ing, I'm Nick Gage, so I'd go into a ... ing

401. doctor's office, "Oh, give me 30 ... ing... roxicets."

402. And then they would give them to you.

403. It was crazy.

404. And like, I'd never been a druggy guy, ever.

405. And then, like, you know, when you don't have them

406. you're like, "Whoa, what the ...'s that?"

407. At some point, OxyContin got hard to get

408. because it's very expensive.

409. He can walk down the street and

410. get heroin for $10 a bag and

411. get all the same effects, and get more of it.

412. All of it. Definitely all of it.

413. You know, I looked at him like a guy who was

414. in trouble and he had no choice,

415. and now he's in this really bad situation.

416. It is what it is. I mean, he was an addict.

417. That was, basically, his life.

418. And here we go, fans! Our main event...

419. As Nick Gage descends deeper into addiction,

420. his career and his relationship with

421. his brother Chris begins to deteriorate.

422. Face-to-face in the ring, Chris's anger and

423. frustration is about to erupt.

424. Let's just put it this way, man.

425. I went out there and, I wasn't on top of my game.

426. And...

427. I just didn't remember how to do stuff. Okay?

428. I guess my brother was a little upset in the ring so,

429. he'd say, "Wake the... up."

430. And, literally, slapped me like a bitch.

431. the current champion, Justice Pain.

432. So, I'm like, damn, man, what the ...?

433. The soft paw. Justice Pain,

434. with that hard left into the head of his brother.

435. The match started and, a few minutes later,

436. Chris just grabbed him and...

437. Put him in his finisher, the Pain Thriller.

438. Pain thriller! Oh!

439. You've gotta be kidding me!

440. - What?

441. Pretty much dislocated, almost broke my shoulder.

442. And I was very, very upset about that.

443. That was very weird.

444. It was like at the beginning of the match, like,

445. aren't you gonna have a match before you start

446. working towards the finishing sequence?

447. After falling out with his brother,

448. it seems Nick has reached rock bottom,

449. but things get even worse when his mother

450. loses her battle with breast cancer.

451. Oh, ah... not good, you know?

452. Now that my mom died, I didn't give a ..., man.

453. I didn't really care.

454. And then I was starting to, you know,

455. starting to get into that shit, you know.

456. Bad combination, bro, you know.

457. Look at his face!

458. Over the next few years, Nick spirals further into

459. desperation and finds himself on the verge of homelessness.

460. So, at this time, I pretty much didn't have no friends

461. or family no more, you know.

462. My mom passed away, my dad passed away.

463. I didn't talk to my brother.

464. I didn't talk to nobody, man.

465. So, I'm in the ... ing hood and I move in with, girl's mom.

466. And... I'm doing nothing, man.

467. I'm sitting on the couch doing nothing, man.

468. And one day, she freaked out and kicked us

469. both out in the cold air.

470. At that point in time, we weren't really into

471. going to work, having money, paying bills and

472. stuff like that. We didn't care.

473. We did not care at that point.

474. We did not care.

475. I was going out of town and,

476. for some reason, my trip got cut short.

477. You know, I walked up to my door and my door was like...

478. unhinged, open, and I was like,

479. you know, is there somebody here?

480. I saw two people sleeping on the floor,

481. and I was like, oh, my god, that's Nick and his girlfriend.

482. And, I mean, I was pissed.

483. Him, man. Kicked me out of his house.

484. It was ... ing ten degrees out.

485. So, now I'm angry and upset,

486. and I need money and I got nowhere to go.

487. So, that leads to, you know...

488. The day of.

489. I needed money, man, and I'm freezing, and...

490. everybody's kicking me out. So, let me go get mine.

491. So, I'm walking down the street and I see this bank.

492. I look around and I'm like, ah...

493. I'm not... And I left.

494. I pussied out.

495. So, I'm walking down the street, like, "Mother... er!

496. Man, you ing pussy, man!"

497. So, I showed up at the next bank and

498. I went right in that bitch, man.

499. I wrote the note, handed it to her.

500. "I have a gun. Give me all your money."

501. "Hurry the... up!"

502. You know, I had to lose my temper a little,

503. you know, she's taking too long.

504. She handed me the money and

505. I ran all the way to my boy's house, man.

506. My front door opened.

507. He just walked into my kitchen and dropped

508. a bunch of money on my kitchen counter.

509. And, I was like, you know...

510. "What is that?"

511. He said to me, "I just robbed a drug dealer."

512. And then I looked at the money,

513. and we're talking brand-new, crisp $20 bills.

514. And, I said, "Did you just rob a bank?"

515. So, I'm at home and I get a call.

516. "Man! You gotta check your email, man.

517. You just got... You gotta look at it."

518. I get on the computer and I open this ... ing email,

519. and it's a picture of him, like,

520. at the bank lobby, and it's...

521. it's Nick Gage, clear as day.

522. I don't think I even realized the camera was there.

523. I think I was just looking up for some reason, man.

524. But, I looked right in that bitch.

525. It was a spur of the moment thing, as you can see.

526. I don't even have a mask on.

527. Nick ... ing Gage!

528. Nick Gage always come in the ring with a handkerchief

529. on his face, like he's gonna rob a train.

530. And the time that he chooses to not wear the mask

531. is when he actually robs a ... ing bank!

532. I actually found out from the newspaper.

533. And, his face is on the front of the page and I'm like, what?

534. I, I just didn't know what to say.

535. And I'm like, what happened? And he told me.

536. And...

537. I just, I was with him though.

538. I didn't leave him, I didn't turn him in.

539. I was just with him.

540. Whatever he does, I'm with him.

541. After the robberies, I'm like,

542. we gotta get out of here so, we went to Atlantic City.

543. My only objective is, spend this ... ing money.

544. On the run from the law, Nick Gage and

545. his girlfriend Sondra head to Atlantic City.

546. Without an end goal in sight,

547. they enter a casino with one objective.

548. I'm thinking, you're going to prison.

549. But at least ball out for like a ... ing week.

550. This was a tough situation for me because I'm not gonna

551. be a snitch and I'm not gonna rat him out.

552. But, I told him, when you're ready to turn yourself in,

553. let me know. And you know,

554. I spoke to him every day and it was,

555. "Alright, are you ready? No?

556. Alright, well, talk to you tomorrow."

557. That went on every day for, I don't know, 8, 9 days.

558. And then, he called me and he said, "I'm done. I'm ready."

559. I drove to Atlantic City and I picked him up.

560. I took him to Burger King and he got

561. his favorite, he got a Whopper.

562. And then it was, "Guess this is it."

563. I drank a 40 and I smoked a couple blunts and,

564. walked in and turned myself in.

565. In the State Supreme Court of Camden, New Jersey,

566. Nick pleads guilty to 2nd degree bank robbery

567. and is sentenced to 5 years

568. in New Jersey State Prison.

569. They took me up to Three North C,

570. which is a murder block, gang block,

571. and a... gun block.

572. So, they put me in there, right.

573. And they just go, "Go find a ... ing bed."

574. Go find a bed, right?

575. That's harder than you think, man.

576. Chris never visited me at all.

577. No phone calls, no nothing.

578. I visited him regularly from day one

579. until the day he walked out.

580. I honestly felt like he was like a brother to me,

581. but Chris looked down on him.

582. He thought it was shameful, you know.

583. He's a ... ing criminal, you know.

584. "My brother's a criminal. He got himself

585. into this mess and he can get himself out of it."

586. So, I'm just trying to get everything together and,

587. all of a sudden, I started getting

588. nonstop ... ing fan mail.

589. From fans that don't know me from a ... ing lick,

590. "Keep your head up, man. You'll get out soon, man.

591. Stay focused." And I realized,

592. "Man, people love me, man."

593. And it's not just a couple people,

594. it's like masses of people.

595. They really sent him letters.

596. No joke, that's what happened.

597. That's what kept him pushing and,

598. it was really amazing how many people

599. really looked up to him.

600. This is just a stack that came out of one box

601. of letters, you know, that he had,

602. he had gotten and saved.

603. I don't think he realized the impact that he had on people.

604. There were three things I wanted to do.

605. I wanted to come out and show everybody,

606. look, I changed my body, I changed my mind,

607. I changed my soul. And then, I wanted to put

608. ing Deathmatch wrestling back on the map, man.

609. And I started training, training hard.

610. I mean, he went from eating Burger King Whoppers

611. to exercising hardcore, twice a day, every day.

612. On March 31, 2015,

613. just over 4 years into his sentece,

614. Nick Gage is released on parole.

615. That whole night I didn't sleep.

616. I was so excited.

617. We went like an hour before he actually came out so,

618. we're like looking and looking and looking,

619. and finally, I see his big 'ol head walking through,

620. like, the thing.

621. As soon as he opens up that door,

622. I just took off running.

623. And it was just one of the happiest days.

624. Finally they give me release papers and I finally

625. go through them gates, and then, you know,

626. you got your girl coming running up, boom, and...

627. Lauderdale was there and, you know,

628. and shit, man, it was awesome.

629. Take this ... ing shit off. Take it off.

630. Jesus Christ.

631. Take that stuff off, man.

632. We threw that stuff all in the trash can and everything,

633. and brought him his other clothes.

634. Put 'em back on and, it was, it was cool, it was cool.

636. I just spent 4 and a half years in ... ing hell!

637. And you know what, I was ... ing okay with it.

898. And that was the first time that I had ever really felt that,

899. you know, sensed that kind of emotion and

902. Yeah, I think deep down and in reality,

903. probably some regret.

904. The bridge he jumped off of is behind my house

905. so, as soon as I come out of my house,

906. I see the bridge every day that my brother's jumped off of.

907. So, I kind of say a prayer for him, just say,

908. "What's up, Chris?" And shit like that and...

909. it's just like, damn, man, everybody that you

910. grew up with in your household is gone and

911. it's just you rockin' it.

912. I'm just gonna keep moving forward, man,
