813. and without people like her, this art form of drag

814. would not be as acceptable as it is today.

815. We owe so much to her, and people like her,

816. and people that she was standing beside.

817. I think our generation, and the one after,

818. we have to take the time to get to know our elders

819. because they are the ones who paved the way,

820. and the real trailblazers.

822. They're the ones that gave us the rights

823. and the freedom to be our openly queer selves,

824. so we have to make sure that we're always giving thanks

825. and a good nod to these queens, because Michelle DuBarry,

826. she paved the way for all of us.

830. When I first started, it was Lady Bunny.

831. It was the first time that I was able to see a larger queen,

834. When I first started to do drag, I was really bigger,

835. but I did embrace the fact that I was bigger,

836. and I was performing in undies, and the crowd loved it.

837. I think it's one of the main reasons I became someone

838. in Montreal because I was fearless.

839. It's all about having confidence.

840. While we're on the topic of body,

841. it did come up on the runway last week, Lemon.

842. It's always hard for me to be the one to complain

843. about this because I know that a lot of people would die

844. to have the body that I have.

845. But you have two worlds combining to make you

846. feel like shit about your body.

847. You have the dance world and the drag world.

848. Yeah, truly, and like the dance world is literally

849. just like you stand staring at yourself in a mirror

850. that spans a full wall for 12 hours a day,

851. and all you do is correct what's wrong.

852. I spent my entire childhood

853. obsessed with what I looked like,

854. and it felt sometimes that everyone was obsessed with it.

855. It's always been, "You don't have the body of a male dancer.

857. "You don't have big enough biceps.

859. There's no right or wrong.

860. Bodies can be as different as you are

861. because we're all different, at the end of the day.

862. We should just embrace our uniqueness.

863. I've worked so hard to love the skin that I'm in.
