1. And anything
that already happened,Copy !req
2. we're not going back
over all that.Copy !req
3. Let's just focus on
from here on out.Copy !req
4. Right.
Past is past.Copy !req
5. And moving forward...Copy !req
6. Uh, if I have the urge
to not tell you something,Copy !req
7. then I've gotta
tell you.Copy !req
8. Right.
Full disclosure.Copy !req
9. And it works both ways?
Works both ways.Copy !req
10. And... mute.Copy !req
11. Okay, what if
I have the urgeCopy !req
12. to not tell you something,Copy !req
13. but I tell you,Copy !req
14. and you don't like
what you hear?Copy !req
15. I just want to know
what's going on.Copy !req
16. Yeah, but...Copy !req
17. Jimmy,
we'll cross that bridge
when we come to it.Copy !req
18. There he is.Copy !req
19. So, we're really
doing this, huh?Copy !req
20. Yeah,
looks that way.Copy !req
21. Am I late?Copy !req
22. Nope.
Cool.Copy !req
23. Mornin'.Copy !req
24. Thanks for coming.
Good to see you.Copy !req
25. Shall we?
Yeah.Copy !req
26. Psst!Copy !req
27. What's up?Copy !req
28. Want me to hold
the rings for you?Copy !req
29. Oh, there's no rings.Copy !req
30. Well,
I can fix that easy.Copy !req
31. I seen
a clerk downstairs.Copy !req
32. He had a nice rock,Copy !req
33. probably about
a half a carat.Copy !req
34. Huell, no.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
35. This is a different
kind of thing.Copy !req
36. Oh. It's like that.Copy !req
37. Then we should do it up right,
then, for the rugrat.Copy !req
38. No, there's no rugrat.Copy !req
39. Well, you're at least
gonna take her somewhere
after this?Copy !req
40. Little honeymoon?Copy !req
41. I gotta friend
who runs a B&B
in Roswell.Copy !req
42. Get you a good deal.Copy !req
43. How about we take
a raincheck on that?Copy !req
44. We just need
to get this done.Copy !req
45. You feel me?Copy !req
46. This is
a legal arrangement.Copy !req
47. This way,
if I get into trouble,Copy !req
48. they can't make her
testify against me.Copy !req
49. You getting hitched
for that?Copy !req
50. Yeah.Copy !req
51. Yeah.
That's all this is.Copy !req
52. You got it?Copy !req
53. She gonna be a McGill
or Goodman?Copy !req
54. Wexler.Copy !req
55. I-I got to go
finish this.Copy !req
56. Here you go.Copy !req
57. Thanks.Copy !req
58. Sir, do you have
documentationCopy !req
59. of your two previous
dissolutions?Copy !req
60. Yeah.Copy !req
61. Great. One sec.Copy !req
62. This okay with you?Copy !req
63. Of course.Copy !req
64. Yeah.
I just mean, um...Copy !req
65. This might not be
what you dreamed of
when you were 12.Copy !req
66. Jimmy, it's not
about that.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
67. This is just, you know...Copy !req
68. Everything
we talked about.
Right.Copy !req
69. Right. I know.Copy !req
70. Just making sure.Copy !req
71. All set.Copy !req
72. I just need $25.Copy !req
73. I got it.Copy !req
74. Sorry to keep you waiting.Copy !req
75. Been that kind of day.Copy !req
76. So, Wexler-McGill?Copy !req
77. Yes.Copy !req
78. And you picked
the short vows,
that right?Copy !req
79. Yes.Copy !req
80. And you have
your witnesses?Copy !req
81. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
82. Okay, then.Copy !req
83. Here we go.Copy !req
84. Here we go.Copy !req
85. Oh.Copy !req
86. "Do you,
James Morgan McGill,Copy !req
87. "take Kimberly Wexler to..."Copy !req
88. Hmm. No middle name.Copy !req
89. "To be your lawfully
wedded wife?Copy !req
90. "To have and to hold,
from this day forward,Copy !req
91. "for better, for worse,Copy !req
92. "for richer, for poorer,Copy !req
93. "in sickness and in health,Copy !req
94. "till death do you part?"Copy !req
95. I do.Copy !req
96. "And do you,
Kimberly Wexler,Copy !req
97. "take James Morgan McGillCopy !req
98. "to be your
lawfully wedded husband?Copy !req
99. "To have and to hold,
from this day forward,Copy !req
100. "for better, for worse,Copy !req
101. "for richer, for poorer,Copy !req
102. "in sickness and in health,Copy !req
103. "till death do you part?"Copy !req
104. I do.Copy !req
105. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
106. Do you have the rings?Copy !req
107. We, um...
We didn't do that.Copy !req
108. No rings.Copy !req
109. Okey-dokey.Copy !req
110. "Then by the power
vested in meCopy !req
111. "by the state
of New Mexico,Copy !req
112. "I now pronounce you
husband and wife."Copy !req
113. "You may kiss."Copy !req
114. Psst! Psst!Copy !req
115. One more, one more.Copy !req
116. So, lunch
is definitely out?Copy !req
117. Sorry. I-I just
can't get away.Copy !req
118. But I'll be home
early tonight.Copy !req
119. Me too.Copy !req
120. Saul Goodman,
speedy justice for you!Copy !req
121. I been calling you.Copy !req
122. Yeah. I had
a busy morning.Copy !req
123. Go to lock-up.Copy !req
124. Client's waiting for you.Copy !req
125. My "client"? Wha...
(SIGHS)Copy !req
126. Who got picked up
this time?Copy !req
127. Jorge De Guzman.Copy !req
128. Who the hell
is Jorge De Guzman?Copy !req
129. Who do you think?Copy !req
130. State v. Jorge De Guzman.Copy !req
131. Case CR-2004003022.Copy !req
132. Mr. De Guzman.Copy !req
133. Murder in the first degree,Copy !req
134. robbery while armed
with a deadly weapon,Copy !req
135. tampering with evidence,
arson...Copy !req
136. Your Honor, uh,Copy !req
137. my client waives the readingCopy !req
138. of the remaining charges.Copy !req
139. How does he plead?Copy !req
140. "Not guilty" on all charges.Copy !req
141. I'd like to schedule
a pre-trial hearingCopy !req
142. in six weeks.Copy !req
143. And I'm going
to deny bond.Copy !req
144. Uh, Your Honor...Copy !req
145. That's my decision.Copy !req
146. MR. Thank you
for making time for us
on such short notice.Copy !req
147. We wanted to tell you
face-to-faceCopy !req
148. how much
everyone in the firmCopy !req
149. regrets
what happened yesterday.Copy !req
150. The situation in Tucamcari
spiraled out of control,Copy !req
151. and we take
full responsibility.Copy !req
152. Kevin, you chose me
as your attorney.Copy !req
153. And that was the best day
of my professional life.Copy !req
154. Yesterday was the worst day
of my professional life.Copy !req
155. I can't tell you
how much I regret
that I let you down.Copy !req
156. But I want you to know
that, if you chooseCopy !req
157. to move forward with me
and with us,Copy !req
158. nothing like that
will ever happen again.Copy !req
159. No one's denying
that things went
off course,Copy !req
160. but let's keep in mind
that over the last 18 months,Copy !req
161. we've opened
24 new branches.Copy !req
162. And, until Tucamcari,Copy !req
163. the legal work
has been... flawless.Copy !req
164. Well.Copy !req
165. Kim, you dropped the ball.
That's for sure.Copy !req
166. And, uh, (SCOFFS)
with all your smarts,Copy !req
167. whole office
full of associates
and fancy degrees,Copy !req
168. you get rolled over by...Copy !req
169. Well, you know
what happened.Copy !req
170. I expected more.Copy !req
171. Thanks for coming in.Copy !req
172. Thank you, Kevin.Copy !req
173. Paige.
Thank you.Copy !req
174. Kim, (CLEARS THROAT)
one more thing.Copy !req
175. This fella...
McGill or Goodman, whatever.Copy !req
176. You could do
a whole lot better.Copy !req
177. I'll say 50/50,
but we gave it a shot.Copy !req
178. Rich, we can't
leave it like this.Copy !req
179. Oh, he'll stew for a bit,
and then we'll see.Copy !req
180. And if he does
stick with us,Copy !req
181. then what?Copy !req
182. We walk on eggshells
forever?Copy !req
183. (GROANS LIGHTLY)
What's our alternative?Copy !req
184. We countered
with seven, right?Copy !req
185. Yes,
but after the survey...
(KNOCK ON DOOR)Copy !req
186. Uh, sorry to interrupt.Copy !req
187. Do you mind if we take just
another minute of your time?Copy !req
188. I guess.Copy !req
189. Kevin, no matter what our
relationship looks likeCopy !req
190. moving forward,Copy !req
191. we owe you the truth.Copy !req
192. And the truth is,
you ignored our advice.Copy !req
193. Oh, so this is my fault.Copy !req
194. We said Mesa Verde
should reconsider the site
for the call center.Copy !req
195. You declined.Copy !req
196. We advised you
to keep the purchased lot
as an investment.Copy !req
197. You declined.Copy !req
198. And we advised you
to leave that meetingCopy !req
199. when it became apparent
that the other sideCopy !req
200. was negotiating
in bad faith.Copy !req
201. You declined.Copy !req
202. At every point, we gave you
the best guidance we could,Copy !req
203. and at every point,
you chose to go
your own way.Copy !req
204. We are your attorneys,Copy !req
205. and it is our job
to advise you.Copy !req
206. The decisions
will always be yours,Copy !req
207. but if you continue
to ignore us,Copy !req
208. then this is
the wrong relationship.Copy !req
209. And, Kevin,
I have to tell you,Copy !req
210. whoever represents you
in the future,Copy !req
211. I hope you're gonna listen
to them a little bit better.Copy !req
212. That it?Copy !req
213. All right, then.Copy !req
214. See you on Thursday.Copy !req
215. Okay.Copy !req
216. Well, uh... I guess
we'll get out of your hair.Copy !req
217. Thursday.Copy !req
218. JMM.Copy !req
219. What's that?Copy !req
220. Oh, that's my motto.Copy !req
221. Yeah?Copy !req
222. "Justice Matters Most."Copy !req
223. Okay, brass tacks.Copy !req
224. Um, how solid is this
"De Guzman" thing?Copy !req
225. Because if they
find out you're not
who they think you are,Copy !req
226. that could be a little...
It's not gonna be
a problem.Copy !req
227. Great!Copy !req
228. Um, first up,Copy !req
229. we got to get the murder rap
down to manslaughter.Copy !req
230. Now, I think that the DA
is primed to cut a deal.Copy !req
231. So I say make 'em
come to us,
power move...Copy !req
232. No.
No?Copy !req
233. Nope. No deal.
(SIGHS)Copy !req
234. Here's the thing
about going to trial...Copy !req
235. No, no, no, no, no.Copy !req
236. No trial. No deal.Copy !req
237. Okay, yeah.
Sure. Just...Copy !req
238. What did you
have in mind?Copy !req
239. You're gonna
get me out on bail.Copy !req
240. Bail?Copy !req
241. (CHUCKLING) That's...Copy !req
242. Well, the thing there...Copy !req
243. I mean,
I don't know how things
work south of the border,Copy !req
244. but here,
under these circumstances,Copy !req
245. uh, well,
that's a long shot.Copy !req
246. Quieres ser amigo
de el cartel?Copy !req
247. I'm sorry.
I-I don't, uh...Copy !req
248. You wanna be
a friend of the cartel?Copy !req
249. Hmm?Copy !req
250. Time to get yourself
a new motto.Copy !req
251. Just. Make. Money.Copy !req
252. "'But what does
that mean, "ephemeral"?'
repeated the little prince,Copy !req
253. "who never in his life
let go of a question
once he had asked it.Copy !req
254. "'It means,Copy !req
255. "'"Which is in danger
of speedy disappearance."'Copy !req
256. "'Is my flower in danger
of speedy disappearance?'Copy !req
257. "'It certainly is.'"Copy !req
258. Hmm.Copy !req
259. Okay, kid, we'll finish
the rest later.Copy !req
260. Now, good night.Copy !req
261. Not yet, Pop-pop.Copy !req
262. Just two more pages.Copy !req
263. Two more pages,
and that's it,
all right?Copy !req
264. Now lie down.Copy !req
265. "'My flower is ephemeral,'Copy !req
266. "the little prince
said to himself,Copy !req
267. "'and she only has
four thornsCopy !req
268. 'to defend herself
against the world.'"Copy !req
269. She's out.Copy !req
270. Think The Little Prince
did the trick.Copy !req
271. I think you wore her out
with all that hide-and-seek.Copy !req
272. I don't know.Copy !req
273. I think maybe
she wore me out. (SIGHS)Copy !req
274. This girl at work,Copy !req
275. she can't get her son
to sleep.Copy !req
276. The kid's two years old,Copy !req
277. and he's still tearing around
the house at midnight.Copy !req
278. Hmm.Copy !req
279. Matty was like that.Copy !req
280. Really?Copy !req
281. Yeah, really.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
282. Never wanted
to conk out.Copy !req
283. (CHUCKLES)
Too busy.Copy !req
284. He was such a cutie.Copy !req
285. I love those pictures of him
sitting on Santa's lap.Copy !req
286. Ahh, that face.
Mm.Copy !req
287. Cried his eyes out.
Every year.Copy !req
288. And every year,
he'd want to try it again.Copy !req
289. I'm better now.Copy !req
290. What changed?Copy !req
291. Decided to play the cards
I was dealt.Copy !req
292. Just said he'll see us
at the regular
Thursday meeting.Copy !req
293. You spoke truth to power.Copy !req
294. We'll see
if he sticks to it.Copy !req
295. (SIGHS HEAVILY)
How'd your day go?Copy !req
296. I got married.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
297. Here.Copy !req
298. Mmm.Copy !req
299. (CHUCKLING) What?Copy !req
300. I'm having the urge
not to tell you something.Copy !req
301. (SIGHS)
It's nothing.Copy !req
302. I'll... I'll tell you
later, okay?Copy !req
303. Mm. (LAUGHS)Copy !req
304. Jimmy, wait. Wait.
Wait. Wait. Wait.Copy !req
305. What?Copy !req
306. I have a...
A new client.Copy !req
307. He's, um, connected.Copy !req
308. I mean,
he's a cartel guy.Copy !req
309. From Mexico.Copy !req
310. Pretty high up.Copy !req
311. Anyway,
he's in for murder,Copy !req
312. and he wants bail,
which...Copy !req
313. That's impossible.Copy !req
314. I mean,
no way in hellCopy !req
315. this dude is ever
seeing sunshine.Copy !req
316. But if I could, you know,
somehow find a way,Copy !req
317. um, he said, uh, I'd be
a friend of the cartel.Copy !req
318. "Friend of the cartel"?Copy !req
319. You know
what that means.Copy !req
320. Means money.Copy !req
321. Ranch in Montana
kind of money,Copy !req
322. like, uh, private jet
kind of moneyCopy !req
323. (INHALES SHARPLY)
Press conferences,Copy !req
324. TV news, the works.Copy !req
325. But...Copy !req
326. Do you want to be
a friend of the cartel?Copy !req
327. No. No.Copy !req
328. Absolutely not. I...Copy !req
329. Anyway,
it's a moot pointCopy !req
330. 'cause the guy's
the definition
of a flight risk, so...Copy !req
331. Look, I'm gonna
put up a fight, right,
just for show.Copy !req
332. There's no judge on earth
that's gonna grant him bail.Copy !req
333. I just...
I didn't want to tell you,Copy !req
334. so I thought
I should tell you.Copy !req
335. You know what?Copy !req
336. What?Copy !req
337. I'm glad you did.Copy !req
338. Oh.Copy !req
339. (IN DISTANCE) All right,
back in your cell!Copy !req
340. Hey.Copy !req
341. No, no. I'm good.
I'm good. I'm good.Copy !req
342. So, what's happening
with sixth street?Copy !req
343. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
344. And the take?Copy !req
345. Okay.Copy !req
346. So, what're you
gonna do about it?Copy !req
347. You gonna send in
Ocho Loco?Copy !req
348. Oh. Even better. Nice.Copy !req
349. Listen.Copy !req
350. I got something
for you to do.Copy !req
351. I'm not telling you shit
until we talk about my dad.Copy !req
352. What you tell me
and when you say it
is not up to you.Copy !req
353. Listen, you said
when Lalo's
out of the picture,Copy !req
354. we'll talk about
my father, right?Copy !req
355. Well, he's out
of the picture.Copy !req
356. Say your piece
I'm done.Copy !req
357. I want out.Copy !req
358. And you want me
to square it with Fring.Copy !req
359. Fring's not all of it.
It's the cartel.Copy !req
360. I disappear,
they're gonna
go after my father.Copy !req
361. He's gotta
come with me.Copy !req
362. But no matter
what I say,Copy !req
363. with him
it's the cops
or nothing.Copy !req
364. The cops
won't solve this.Copy !req
365. You got a way?Copy !req
366. Hmm.Copy !req
367. What are you holding out?Copy !req
368. Lalo called me
from inside.Copy !req
369. He put me
back in charge.Copy !req
370. And?Copy !req
371. And...Copy !req
372. He wants me to burn down
a Pollos Hermanos.Copy !req
373. Then he's not
out of the picture, is he?Copy !req
374. The "avocado mania" promotion,Copy !req
375. which we've been testing
in select franchises,Copy !req
376. has been a smashing success,Copy !req
377. contributing to an 18%
increase in foot trafficCopy !req
378. at participating locationsCopy !req
379. and a 12% bump
in customer satisfaction.Copy !req
380. We know a good thing
when we see it,Copy !req
381. so we are planning
to fully roll out
"avocado mania" in Q2.Copy !req
382. Additionally, our innovative
"family-fun" remodelCopy !req
383. improved the in-store
Whiskerstay's experience,Copy !req
384. resulting in increased
repeat business system-wide.Copy !req
385. In fact, we are happy
to share the newsCopy !req
386. that the latest
ACSI surveyCopy !req
387. now places Whiskerstay's
in the top 10%Copy !req
388. of limited-service chains
nationwide.Copy !req
389. Very nice, Cleo,
very nice.Copy !req
390. Thank you.Copy !req
391. And now let's hear
from Gustavo FringCopy !req

our delicious "Spice Curls."Copy !req
406. "The curly fry with
the Southwestern kick."Copy !req
407. Here we are.Copy !req
408. The bathroom
has heated floors.Copy !req
409. You'll find the dial
just under the light switch.Copy !req
410. There's a steam shower...Copy !req
411. And bidet.Copy !req
412. This controls
the drapes.Copy !req
413. Many of our guests
have enjoyed the rodeo.Copy !req
414. It's in town tomorrow
at Reliant Stadium.Copy !req
415. I highly recommend it.Copy !req
416. Oh, thank you.Copy !req
417. I'm only staying the night.Copy !req
418. Next time, then.Copy !req
419. Is there anything else,
sir?Copy !req
420. No. No, no,
that will be all.Copy !req
421. Thank you very much.Copy !req
422. Thank you, Mr. Fring.
My pleasure.Copy !req
423. Peter.
(GASPS)Copy !req
424. Look who's here.
Who?Copy !req
425. Hello, my friend.
Oh.Copy !req
426. Gustavo.Copy !req
427. It's good to see you,
my friend.Copy !req
428. Oh, you look well.Copy !req
429. Well, I don't feel well.Copy !req
430. Maybe things will improve
now that you're here.Copy !req
431. Lydia tells me
Salamanca is in jail.Copy !req
432. This means
you can continue
construction?Copy !req
433. E-Eduardo Salamanca
has been arrested for murder.
Uh-huh.Copy !req
434. However, even from jail
he creates... issues.Copy !req
435. What kind of issues?Copy !req
436. He ordered his men
to burn down
one of my restaurants.Copy !req
437. You're kidding.Copy !req
438. He's in jail.
He can still do that?Copy !req
439. I'm afraid so.Copy !req
440. I know it's not exactly
my area of expertise,Copy !req
441. but don't people get killed
in prison all the time?Copy !req
442. I mean,
"shanked" and "shivved"
and whatnot?Copy !req
443. Anything happens
to SalamancaCopy !req
444. on this side
of the border,Copy !req
445. the cartel will assume
that it was my doing.Copy !req
446. It would mean war.Copy !req
447. War for which
we are unprepared.Copy !req
448. My God.Copy !req
449. This nightmare never ends.Copy !req
450. He's concerned
about the money.
"Concerned"?Copy !req
451. 4,800,000 Euros.
Mm.Copy !req
452. It's a miracle
I haven't been caught.Copy !req
453. Last year
the auditors
came this close.Copy !req
454. One of them, a woman...
I think she knew.Copy !req
455. Peter...
At first it was a year.Copy !req
456. Then it was two.
Then three.Copy !req
457. And now
you're telling me...Copy !req
458. How long?Copy !req
459. I can't. I can't.Copy !req
460. They will catch me,
and then it is over.Copy !req
461. Peter...
I can't.Copy !req
462. Peter...
Gustavo, please.Copy !req
463. I can't.
Listen to me.Copy !req
464. I...
Listen to me.Copy !req
465. Do you remember
Santiago?Copy !req
466. The two of us.Copy !req
467. Our backs to the wall.Copy !req
468. I will never forget
what you did.Copy !req
469. Oh, well...Copy !req
470. You are still
the same man.Copy !req
471. You will do
what is necessary.Copy !req
472. Stay strong, my friend.Copy !req
473. We've come so far.Copy !req
474. We are so very close.Copy !req
475. Okay.Copy !req
476. Good.Copy !req
477. Now, you eat.Copy !req
478. (MUSIC PLAYS)
Tomorrow you and I
are going to the rodeo.Copy !req
479. The rodeo?Copy !req
480. Yeah.
To see the cowboys.Copy !req
481. I've never been
to the rodeo.Copy !req
482. Well,
you're going to love it.Copy !req
483. Gustavo.Copy !req
484. Prosit.
Prosit.Copy !req
485. Prost.
(LAUGHS)Copy !req
486. Uh, "Your guests will relax
in the elegant great room,Copy !req
487. "complete with soaring
stone fireplace."Copy !req
488. Soaring stone?Copy !req
489. Yeah. That's the best
kind of stone.Copy !req
490. How about
a lavender farm?Copy !req
491. Seriously?Copy !req
492. Yeah, well, it's, uh...
It's lavender-adjacent.Copy !req
493. Tell me more.Copy !req
494. "Imagine a magical land
called 'home.'Copy !req
495. "Watch the sun set
across your own
private meadow,Copy !req
496. "as wild flowers
sway in the breeze.Copy !req
497. "This stunning
desert retreatCopy !req
498. "promotes a casual
yet luxurious lifestyle."Copy !req
499. I'm casual yet luxurious.Copy !req
500. Yeah. Totally.Copy !req
501. It's got
a five-car garage.Copy !req
502. What?
How's that gonna work?Copy !req
503. We only get two
and a half cars each?
Yeah.Copy !req
504. Garbage.
(LAUGHS)Copy !req
505. So, that was wildflowers
dancing in the sun?Copy !req
506. They're swaying
in the breeze.Copy !req
507. Oh. Okay.Copy !req
508. Well, either way.Copy !req
509. They're having
a very nice time.Copy !req
510. Saul Goodman,
speedy justice for you!Copy !req
511. I need a word.Copy !req
512. Oh. A word? Yeah, uh...Copy !req
513. Yeah, I have
a word for you.
Uh, "tunnel"...Copy !req
514. (JUICER WHIRS)
which is where
I am right now.Copy !req
515. Sorry! I can't hear you!
Maybe try again later?Copy !req
516. Coming!Copy !req
517. (IMITATING MIKE)
Whatever it is,Copy !req
518. it's not for me,
and it shouldn't
be for you.Copy !req
519. Hey, forget your key...Copy !req
520. Oh.Copy !req
521. Okay. Yeah.
Come right in.Copy !req
522. Make yourself at home.Copy !req
523. You got me in my underwear,
so enjoy the show.Copy !req
524. You're representing
Eduardo Salamanca,Copy !req
525. AKA Jorge De Guzman.Copy !req
526. He is a client
of mine, yeah. So?Copy !req
527. Well, I need you
to get him out on bail.Copy !req
528. Wait. What do you have to do
with Lalo Salamanca?Copy !req
529. I represent someone
who has an interest.Copy !req
530. Someone like who?Copy !req
531. Someone your client
can never know about.Copy !req
532. Yeah, look,
I don't take
marching ordersCopy !req
533. from the man
behind the curtain.
Mm?Copy !req
534. In this case,
it's better that you do.Copy !req
535. You know what
Salamanca did,
right?Copy !req
536. I am aware.Copy !req
537. What's this?Copy !req
538. This is everything you need
to do your job.Copy !req
539. Go.Copy !req
540. "Significant ties
to his local community"?Copy !req
541. What ties?Copy !req
542. Did you actually think
I wasn't gonna hearCopy !req
543. about this "private eye"
of yours?Copy !req
544. Excuse me?Copy !req
545. Dave Clark.Copy !req
546. Dave Clark.Copy !req
547. The mysterious "third party"
who's coaching
your key witness.Copy !req
548. All right, good.Copy !req
549. You know what?
Do the dumb act
for Parson. Please.Copy !req
550. I can't wait to see him
rip you both a new one.Copy !req
551. Any idea what that asshole
is going on about?Copy !req
552. I'll call the librarian.Copy !req
553. Hey.Copy !req
554. Uh, play to the judge,
okay?Copy !req
555. But don't... Don't, like,
play to the judge.Copy !req
556. Don't overdo it.
(SIGHS)Copy !req
557. Try not to be too cool.Copy !req
558. I mean, look humble.Copy !req
559. A little bit scared.Copy !req
560. No problem.Copy !req
561. Is that them?
Yep.Copy !req
562. Who's that?Copy !req
563. That's gotta be
his family.Copy !req
564. Fred Whalen.Copy !req
565. The guy who died?Copy !req
566. At the Travel Wire?
Mm.Copy !req
567. (SLOWED-DOWN VOICE)
And I'm toldCopy !req
568. you have new information...Copy !req
569. An allegation
of witness tampering?Copy !req
570. Mr. Goodman?Copy !req
571. (NORMAL VOICE)
Mr. Goodman?Copy !req
572. That's right,
Your Honor.Copy !req
573. Witness tampering.Copy !req
574. I have reason to believeCopy !req
575. that the prosecution's
key witnessCopy !req
576. was coached
by a private investigatorCopy !req
577. who was hired
to pervert justice.Copy !req
578. Does the prosecution
have a response?Copy !req
579. Unfortunately,
Your Honor,Copy !req
580. it seems a person
unknown to my teamCopy !req
581. may have interacted
with our witness,Copy !req
582. causing her to call
Detective RobertsCopy !req
583. and amend her statementCopy !req
584. two months after
the initial interview.Copy !req
585. This only recently
came to our attention,Copy !req
586. and we are vigorously
investigating.Copy !req
587. I would hope so.Copy !req
588. Having said that,
Your Honor,Copy !req
589. this witness is one small
element of the state's case.Copy !req
590. In light of the extraordinary
violence of the crimeCopy !req
591. and the fact
that Mr. De Guzman
is a foreign nationalCopy !req
592. with no ties
to the community,Copy !req
593. we ask that the courtCopy !req
594. recognize him
as a flight riskCopy !req
595. and as a danger
to the citizens
of New Mexico.Copy !req
596. Mr. Goodman?Copy !req
597. Uh, all due respect,
Your Honor,Copy !req
598. but the witness is not just
one "small element"Copy !req
599. of the state's case.Copy !req
600. She's the only witnessCopy !req
601. tying Mr. De Guzman
to the murder scene,Copy !req
602. and she's been
manipulated.Copy !req
603. Furthermore, the claim
that Mr. De GuzmanCopy !req
604. has no ties to the community,
that's just patently false.Copy !req
605. Mr. De Guzman has deep ties
to the city of Albuquerque.Copy !req
606. I'd like you to meet
his family.Copy !req
607. Uh, that's his fianceeCopy !req
608. and the love of his life,
Beth McKinnon,Copy !req
609. his stepchildren,
Christopher and Ella,Copy !req
610. and sitting with them
is Beth's mother, Mary.Copy !req
611. Now, Your Honor,Copy !req
612. my client
is the only fatherCopy !req
613. that these kids
have ever known.Copy !req
614. They depend on him.Copy !req
615. How can you
possibly see fitCopy !req
616. to separate this
beautiful... family?Copy !req
617. Um... I'm sorry.Copy !req
618. The testimony, um,Copy !req
619. implicating Mr. De Guzman
in this crime,Copy !req
620. it's been fabricated.Copy !req
621. You've already held him
for three days.Copy !req
622. Given the circumstances,Copy !req
623. Mr. De Guzman
should be granted bond.Copy !req
624. Your Honor, a sidebar?Copy !req
625. Didn't the state do
any investigating at all?Copy !req
626. We did, Your Honor.Copy !req
627. All right, that's enough.Copy !req
628. DA: Your Honor, I really...Copy !req
629. I accept
the defense's argument
that bond is warranted.Copy !req
630. But considering
the severity of the charges,Copy !req
631. I will set the amount
at $7 million.Copy !req
632. Cash only.Copy !req
633. Oh, Your Honor...
(GAVEL BANGS)Copy !req
634. All rise.Copy !req
635. $7 million?Copy !req
636. Yes, and I am
so, so sorry.Copy !req
637. I can do that.Copy !req
638. Thing is,Copy !req
639. I'm gonna need you
to pick it up.
What? Me?Copy !req
640. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
641. I'll call you.
Well...Copy !req
642. Hey, Jimmy.Copy !req
643. Howard.Copy !req
644. So, have you thought
any more about the job?Copy !req
645. (CHUCKLING) The job.Copy !req
646. Yeah.Copy !req
647. No, um...Copy !req
648. I'm still giving it
some thought.Copy !req
649. "Giving it some thought"?Copy !req
650. Yeah.Copy !req
651. You know what?Copy !req
652. Don't bother.Copy !req
653. It seems I've upset you.Copy !req
654. So offer's off the table.Copy !req
655. (STAMMERS)
You upset me?Copy !req
656. How...
How'd you upset me?Copy !req
657. You tell me.Copy !req
658. This is getting
a little weird, Howard.Copy !req
659. You want to know
what's "weird"?Copy !req
660. It's "weird"
to offer a job to a manCopy !req
661. and in return
have bowling balls
thrown at your carCopy !req
662. and prostitutes
sent to your
business lunch.Copy !req
663. That's "weird."Copy !req
664. Are you listening
to yourself?Copy !req
665. I don't know what
you're into these days,
Howard,Copy !req
666. but (CHUCKLES) prostitutes
and, uh, bowling balls?Copy !req
667. Uh, you sound
unhinged.Copy !req
668. Jimmy, I'm sorry
you're in pain.Copy !req
669. You're sorry?Copy !req
670. You're sorry?Copy !req
671. You kill my brother,
and you say you're sorry.Copy !req
672. Let me tell
you something.Copy !req
673. The job offer,
it didn't upset me.Copy !req
674. It amused me.Copy !req
675. Whew. Big job
at the illustrious HHM.Copy !req
676. Chance to play
at the palace?
Lil' ole me?Copy !req
677. I was trying...
You have no idea
what's going on.Copy !req
678. You're a teensy tiny manCopy !req
679. in a teensy-weensy
little bubble!Copy !req
680. Oh, Jimmy.Copy !req
681. Ohh, don't you fuckin'
"Oh, Jimmy" me.Copy !req
682. You look down on me?
You pity me?Copy !req
683. Walk away.
That's right, Howard.Copy !req
684. You know why
I didn't take the job?Copy !req
685. 'Cause it's too small!Copy !req
686. I don't care about it!Copy !req
687. It's nothing to me!Copy !req
688. It's a bacterium!Copy !req
689. I travel in worlds
you can't even imagine!Copy !req
690. You can't conceive
of what I'm capable of!Copy !req
691. I'm so far beyond you!Copy !req
692. I'm like a God
in human clothing!Copy !req
693. Lightning bolts
shoot from my fingertips!Copy !req
