1. Hey.
Did you hear all that?Copy !req
2. I heard enough to know
she saved your ass.Copy !req
3. So...Copy !req
4. So what happens next?Copy !req
5. We'll see.Copy !req
6. Who was that?Copy !req
7. Uh, that was, um...Copy !req
8. It's the guy
who saved my life.Copy !req
9. Kim, I got the money.Copy !req
10. I was on my way back...Copy !req
11. I thought
I was home free...Copy !req
12. And I was ambushed,
by, uh, like, a gang.Copy !req
13. A... A cartel gang.Copy !req
14. And they...
They took the money,Copy !req
15. and one of them...Copy !req
16. Put a gun to my head.Copy !req
17. And that guy
on the phone?Copy !req
18. He showed up.Copy !req
19. He... He shot 'em
with a sniper rifle.Copy !req
20. He... killed
all of them.Copy !req
21. All but one.Copy !req
22. One guy got away.Copy !req
23. And later, I helped him
to get that one, too.Copy !req
24. Kim, I...Copy !req
25. Jimmy. Jimmy. Jimmy.Copy !req
26. Oh, my God.
(BREATHES SHARPLY)Copy !req
27. Oh, my God.Copy !req
28. I think we should
get outta here.Copy !req
29. Kind of assumed
we'd be staying
at a Motel 6Copy !req
30. or the nail salon.Copy !req
31. B-Better to have
more people around.Copy !req
32. How're your shoulders?Copy !req
33. Should I put something
on them,Copy !req
34. or would that
just make it worse?Copy !req
35. I think I'm, uh...Copy !req
36. Am I bad for you?Copy !req
37. Are you "bad for me"?Copy !req
38. I got you into this.Copy !req
39. What happened tonight...Copy !req
40. None of this
would have happenedCopy !req
41. if you weren't with me.Copy !req
42. You crossed a line.Copy !req
43. You're not gonna
do it again.Copy !req
44. Yeah.Copy !req
45. It's been a long day.Copy !req
46. Come on. Make room.Copy !req
47. Mm.Copy !req
48. Good night.Copy !req
49. Well?Copy !req
50. He went
over the border
and kept going.Copy !req
51. Looks to be headed
for his place in Chihuahua.Copy !req
52. And he should be there
in a few hours.Copy !req
53. Good.Copy !req
54. There's a wrinkle.Copy !req
55. He took Varga
with him.Copy !req
56. Why?Copy !req
57. Well, if he thought
Varga was working for you,Copy !req
58. he'd have killed him
on the spot.Copy !req
59. If I had to guess,Copy !req
60. I'd say Varga's
up for a promotion.Copy !req
61. Can you communicate
with Varga?Copy !req
62. Salamanca's place
is in the middle
of nowhere.Copy !req
63. Landlines
and sat phones only.Copy !req
64. A technical issue.Copy !req
65. The way things stand,Copy !req
66. he's gonna get caught
in the crossfire.Copy !req
67. I'm thinking
we should find a wayCopy !req
68. to pull him
out of there.Copy !req
69. And tip our hand?Copy !req
70. He's earned
some consideration.Copy !req
71. Does Varga knowCopy !req
72. there's going to be
an assassination?Copy !req
73. No one's told him,Copy !req
74. but he can make
a pretty damn good guess.Copy !req
75. PerhapsCopy !req
76. there is a way to make use
of this situation.Copy !req
77. The men I've chosen for this
are highly skilled.Copy !req
78. They're the best
in the their business.Copy !req
79. But the one thing
they do not haveCopy !req
80. is a man on the inside.Copy !req
81. Mi Yolis!
Como estas?Copy !req
82. Quien te quiere?Copy !req
83. Te ves flaco.Copy !req
84. No habia nada
comer alla.Copy !req
85. Cecilio,
como estas, amigo?Copy !req
86. Patron...Copy !req
87. Ah. (LAUGHS)Copy !req
88. Nachito,
come on over, huh?
Don't be shy.Copy !req
89. These...
These are my people.Copy !req
90. Yolanda, she is the best cook
in all of Chihua...Copy !req
91. You're gonna eatCopy !req
92. like you have never
eaten before in your life.Copy !req
93. Cecilio, he takes care of
all of my gardens...Copy !req
94. His tomatoes
are the best ever, eh?Copy !req
95. Ciro, Miguel,
Gerardo, Raul,Copy !req
96. and all the rest
of these fools,Copy !req
97. they're supposed to be
guarding this place,Copy !req
98. but, uh,
I just keep 'em aroundCopy !req
99. because they're
so pretty, right?Copy !req
100. Ah.Copy !req
101. Eh?Copy !req
102. (LAUGHS) Hey, listen.Copy !req
103. Welcome. Smile.Copy !req
104. You're in my house, man.
Come on. Come in.Copy !req
105. Mm.Copy !req
106. Hey, did you pack anything
with aloe in it?Copy !req
107. Oh. Mornin'.Copy !req
108. Morning.Copy !req
109. I didn't wake you,
did I?
No.Copy !req
110. Uh, you're going
to court?
Yeah.Copy !req
111. I have a hearing
at 10:00,Copy !req
112. and I want to see
if I can catch Oakley
before I go in.Copy !req
113. You seemed like
you could use the sleep.Copy !req
114. (SCOFFS) Yeah.Copy !req
115. Hey, I think I might have
a better idea.Copy !req
116. What if we spend
the whole day here,
you know?Copy !req
117. Uh, this place
has got everything.Copy !req
118. It's got a heated pool,
a swim-up bar, a hot tub.Copy !req
119. Well, I didn't
pack a swimsuit.Copy !req
120. (SCOFFS)
Neither did I.Copy !req
121. Th-There's a shop
downstairs.Copy !req
122. And... And...
And we can stop in
at the spa, you know,Copy !req
123. a-and get
couples massages.Copy !req
124. With your sunburn?Copy !req
125. Yeah.Copy !req
126. Or, um, or a "seaweed wrap,"
you know,Copy !req
127. and then...
Then we'll just go hangCopy !req
128. in the co-ed sauna,
you know,Copy !req
129. sweat out some toxins
and, uh...
Mm.Copy !req
130. Oh!Copy !req
131. 24-hour room service.Copy !req
132. Hey, what could be
more luxuriousCopy !req
133. than to spend a whole day
being totally pamperedCopy !req
134. and end it all
with a midnight
cheeseburger?Copy !req
135. Come on. Hey, don't we
deserve this?Copy !req
136. Jimmy,
I-I-I have clients.Copy !req
137. Yeah.Copy !req
138. You...
You just quit Schweikart.Copy !req
139. I mean,
take one day off.Copy !req
140. The clerks love you.Copy !req
141. They will give you
a continuance
on anything.Copy !req
142. Hey, Kim,
we already sprang
for this place.Copy !req
143. I'm just sayin'
let's take advantage.Copy !req
144. You know, let's John
and Yoko this sucker.Copy !req
145. You don't think
it's safe?Copy !req
146. Probably, it is.Copy !req
147. But here's the thing.Copy !req
148. L-Lalo has guys, right?Copy !req
149. So it doesn't really
matter where he is...Copy !req
150. If he finds
one loose end,Copy !req
151. all it takes
is a phone call.Copy !req
152. Do you know something
you're not telling me?Copy !req
153. No. No, I don't.Copy !req
154. But what's the harm
in being a little cautious?Copy !req
155. What about tomorrow?Copy !req
156. And the next day?Copy !req
157. Jimmy,
what about next week?Copy !req
158. (SIGHS)
I don't know.Copy !req
159. All right.Copy !req
160. Then, the way I see it,Copy !req
161. we just need
to keep our eyes openCopy !req
162. and get on
with our lives.Copy !req
163. Kim, listen...
The courthouse,Copy !req
164. it's... It's three blocks
from here.Copy !req
165. It's full of cops,Copy !req
166. police headquarters
is right next door.Copy !req
167. Jimmy...Copy !req
168. It's gonna be fine.
(SIGHS)Copy !req
169. I'll see you later.Copy !req
170. Hey, it's me.
I want an update.Copy !req
171. Bullshit.
(SCOFFS)Copy !req
172. I want to know
what's going on.Copy !req
173. Not good enough.Copy !req
174. No. You know what?Copy !req
175. Y'know what... We are...
We are gonna talk about thisCopy !req
176. face-to-face.Copy !req
177. You tell me
where you are.Copy !req
178. I will come to...Copy !req
179. Hello?Copy !req
180. That means we won.Copy !req
181. The state
dropped the charges.Copy !req
182. No, no, no.Copy !req
183. You don't have to appear
in court again.Copy !req
184. Now we both
have the morning off.Copy !req
185. Uh-huh.Copy !req
186. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
187. I'm sorry, Mira,
you know what?Copy !req
188. I have to go.Copy !req
189. But call if you have
any questions, any time.Copy !req
190. Okay. Yes, bye.Copy !req
191. Hey, Grant.Copy !req
192. You got a minute?Copy !req
193. How's it going?Copy !req
194. Uh, let's see.Copy !req
195. I have half an hour
to plead out four taggersCopy !req
196. and a homeless guy
who tried to stuffCopy !req
197. a dozen hardboiled eggs
down his pantsCopy !req
198. at a Ruby Tuesday's.Copy !req
199. Life in
the Public Defender's office.Copy !req
200. How's your day so far?Copy !req
201. Uh, I've got some holes
in my schedule
I'm lookin' to fill.Copy !req
202. Holes? You tellin' me
you're billin', what?Copy !req
203. Two-fifty an hour?Copy !req
204. And you've got holes
in your schedule?Copy !req
205. If I were you,
I'd keep things airtight.Copy !req
206. I'd like some more
PD overflow.Copy !req
207. Go talk
to the contract liaison.Copy !req
208. And Gloria'll set you up.Copy !req
209. All right,
the thing is,Copy !req
210. I know I'm not
supposed to choose
the cases I get,Copy !req
211. but I'm looking for
something... specific.Copy !req
212. Specific?Copy !req
213. Like what?Copy !req
214. Uh, uh.Copy !req
215. I just want to make sure
I'm spending my timeCopy !req
216. where it'll do
the most good.Copy !req
217. I gotcha.Copy !req
218. So plain old indigent's
not good enough for you?Copy !req
219. You want the clients
that'll get you, you know,Copy !req
220. in here.Copy !req
221. Grant, just let me have
some tricky ones.Copy !req
222. Think of all the extra
time you'll haveCopy !req
223. to spend
on your egg stuffers.Copy !req
224. If I were going to
go along with that,Copy !req
225. you'd have to take
felonies.
Sure.Copy !req
226. We're talking cases
that are headed for trial.Copy !req
227. Nothing you can plead out
in three hot minutesCopy !req
228. with your friendly
neighborhood ADA.Copy !req
229. I'll take 20.Copy !req
230. Today.Copy !req
231. Twenty?Copy !req
232. That's your offer?Copy !req
233. Twenty felonies?Copy !req
234. Yes.Copy !req
235. Hold this.Copy !req
236. Come on.Copy !req
237. Hey, Dana!Copy !req
238. Any chance
you can tell the judgeCopy !req
239. I'm running
15 minutes late?Copy !req
240. Oh. Gotta warn you,
right now,Copy !req
241. we're backed up like
an outhouse at Woodstock.Copy !req
242. So, possession raps
are here...Copy !req
243. Possession with intent...Copy !req
244. These are all assault...Copy !req
245. Wait, no...Copy !req
246. Assault's
on the other side
of this shelf.Copy !req
247. All of these cases
are pending?Copy !req
248. Pretty much.Copy !req
249. Had more
burnouts than usual
this last quarter.Copy !req
250. That's what I call
taking that private firm gig,Copy !req
251. gettin'
that sweet company car,Copy !req
252. burnin' rubber
on your way out.Copy !req
253. Public intoxication,
petty larceny,Copy !req
254. destruction of property,
DUI, trespassing...Copy !req
255. Involuntary
manslaughter,Copy !req
256. immigration,
domestic violence...Copy !req
257. Or, if you feel like
you do want...Copy !req
258. Juveniles.Copy !req
259. Go ahead
and have a look around.Copy !req
260. Let me know
which ones you want
so we can kick 'em over.Copy !req
261. I'll get you a box.Copy !req
262. Flashlight.Copy !req
263. When you talk to the boss,
you call him Don.Copy !req
264. He asks you a question,Copy !req
265. you tell the truth,Copy !req
266. fewest words... you can.Copy !req
267. If he likes you,
he's gonna give you a bump up.Copy !req
268. Hey, don't think
I don't see you, eh?Copy !req
269. I see you. I do.Copy !req
270. Right now, steady is what
we need, you know?Copy !req
271. What if he doesn't
like me?Copy !req
272. Ah, you'll be fine.Copy !req
273. Gimme the socket wrench.Copy !req
274. Um. I gotta
hit the head.Copy !req
275. Yeah, yeah.Copy !req
276. Hey, don't get any grease
on my sink, eh?Copy !req
277. Yeah.Copy !req
278. After that, I want you both
to be thinking aboutCopy !req
279. how to parse out discovery.Copy !req
280. It's gonna be
document heavy,Copy !req
281. so let's be mindful
of resource management.Copy !req
282. Howard.Copy !req
283. Kim.
Good to see you.Copy !req
284. Uh, what floor?
Three, please.Copy !req
285. Have you met
my associates,Copy !req
286. Paul Shepard
and Michelle Avila?Copy !req
287. I don't think so. Hi.
Hello.Copy !req
288. Nice to meet you.Copy !req
289. Uh, guys,
this is Kim Wexler.Copy !req
290. She's an HHM alumCopy !req
291. and now heads up banking
at Schweikart and Cokely.Copy !req
292. Nice to meet you both.Copy !req
293. I'm actually not
at Schweikart anymore.Copy !req
294. Or in banking,
for that matter.Copy !req
295. Really?Copy !req
296. As of yesterday.
(ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)Copy !req
297. Take care, Howard.Copy !req
298. Kim, Kim!Copy !req
299. Hang on a sec!Copy !req
300. Out of curiosity,
where'd you land?Copy !req
301. Reeves and Green?Copy !req
302. I'm out on my own again.Copy !req
303. Rich let you go?Copy !req
304. It wasn't up to him.
I left.Copy !req
305. What about Mesa Verde?Copy !req
306. I advised them
to stay with Schweikart.Copy !req
307. Um. I know
it's a personal
question, Kim,Copy !req
308. but can I ask why?
That is personal.Copy !req
309. And I have a busy day, so...
Spare me a minute.Copy !req
310. Please.Copy !req
311. It's important.Copy !req
312. What's up?Copy !req
313. I wasn't going to
say anything.Copy !req
314. Last time I tried to get
something off my chest,Copy !req
315. it didn't go very well.Copy !req
316. I just think
(BREATHES DEEPLY)Copy !req
317. before you make
any big changes
in your life,Copy !req
318. there's something
about Jimmy
you ought to hear.Copy !req
319. Okay.Copy !req
320. A little while ago,
I offered Jimmy a job
at HHM.Copy !req
321. I'm guessing
he didn't mention
it to you.Copy !req
322. He said he had
to think about it.Copy !req
323. But then,
the very next night,Copy !req
324. he threw bowling balls
over my front gate.Copy !req
325. Bowling balls?Copy !req
326. Someone could've been
really hurt.Copy !req
327. More or less
destroyed my car.Copy !req
328. Then,
a couple of weeks later,Copy !req
329. I'm having lunch
with Cliff Main,Copy !req
330. and I'm accosted
by two prostitutes.Copy !req
331. Actual prostitutes.Copy !req
332. Jimmy had sent them
to make a scene.Copy !req
333. I confronted Jimmy
about it,Copy !req
334. and after
some hemming and hawing,Copy !req
335. he all but confessed.Copy !req
336. And that's it?
Mm-hmm.Copy !req
337. (LAUGHING) Sorry.Copy !req
338. Ah. (CLEARS THROAT)Copy !req
339. Howard, you really...Copy !req
340. You... You really had me
going there.Copy !req
341. (LAUGHS)
Laugh if you want,Copy !req
342. but no person
in their right mindCopy !req
343. would behave the way
Jimmy has.Copy !req
344. We are
talking about someoneCopy !req
345. who's not
in control of himself.Copy !req
346. You and I both know
it makes no senseCopy !req
347. to drop a client
like Mesa Verde,Copy !req
348. and I gotta think Jimmy
had something to do with that.Copy !req
349. Do you have any idea
how insulting that is?Copy !req
350. I make my own decisions,
for my own reasons.Copy !req
351. You gotta listen to me.Copy !req
352. The man needs help.Copy !req
353. Howard, I know Jimmy,
and you're wrong.Copy !req
354. You know
who really knew Jimmy?Copy !req
355. Chuck.Copy !req
356. Open up, asshole!Copy !req
357. Open this door!Copy !req
358. I want to talk to you!Copy !req
359. What? Huh?Copy !req
360. You didn't think I'd find
your ultra secret bat cave?Copy !req
361. Well, the joke's
on you, sucker!Copy !req
362. I'm your attorney,Copy !req
363. and you will let me in!
(POUNDING ON WINDOW)Copy !req
364. I'm not goin' anywhere!Copy !req
365. I mean it!Copy !req
366. I got nowhere to be!Copy !req
367. Open. Up. Now!Copy !req
368. Hey!Copy !req
369. What the hell
do you think
you're doing?Copy !req
370. Ah, there he is!Copy !req
371. Not... Not a fan
of the surprise
pop-in, huh?Copy !req
372. Well,
I can't imagine why!
You keep it down.Copy !req
373. I got neighbors.
I will not
keep it down.Copy !req
374. I want answers, okay?
(KEYS JINGLING)Copy !req
375. The time has come for you
to level with me,Copy !req
376. and I'm not going
to leave until you do.Copy !req
377. Inside, now.Copy !req
378. Okay, look, look.Copy !req
379. (DOOR CREAKS SHUT)
Okay.Copy !req
380. Y-You saved my life.Copy !req
381. Thank you for that.Copy !req
382. But from here on out,Copy !req
383. I gotta be kept
in the loop, man.Copy !req
384. It's not my fault
that I got ambushed.Copy !req
385. Why did I have to lie
to Salamanca about that?Copy !req
386. Who was I lying for?Copy !req
387. Now, you gotta tell me
what is happening now!Copy !req
388. That's not your concern.
Oh, come on!Copy !req
389. Listen to me,
you are not blowing me offCopy !req
390. with any "that's not
the end of the story" crap!Copy !req
391. Now, just specifics!Copy !req
392. You're asking
for information
you can't have.Copy !req
393. (VOICE BREAKING)
If anything happens to her...Copy !req
394. I can't do this.Copy !req
395. I can't.Copy !req
396. Hm. Hm.Copy !req
397. All right.Copy !req
398. All right.Copy !req
399. Now, you listen,
and you shut up.Copy !req
400. This man has other things
on his mind.Copy !req
401. He's not thinking
about you.Copy !req
402. Lalo Salamanca
is going to die.Copy !req
403. Tonight.Copy !req
404. Tonight?Copy !req
405. This time tomorrow,
it'll be done.Copy !req
406. Oh. Okay, then...Copy !req
407. Now...Copy !req
408. I need you to leave.Copy !req
409. I have family
coming over.Copy !req
410. Charlie Manson!Copy !req
411. (SPEAKING SPANISH)
Don Eladio.Copy !req
412. Bolsa.Copy !req
413. Hey.Copy !req
414. Ah.
Hmm.Copy !req
415. Excelente.
Si.Copy !req
416. Mm. Hm.Copy !req
417. Ooh. Magnum, P.I.Copy !req
418. Eh, Bolsa?Copy !req
419. Si.Copy !req
420. Don.Copy !req
421. Ah.Copy !req
422. "Frunk." (LAUGHS)Copy !req
423. Oh.Copy !req
424. Oiga, Don Eladio...Copy !req
425. Ah.Copy !req
426. Ah. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
427. Entonces...Copy !req
428. Mm.
(GLASS THUMPS)Copy !req
429. Ah.Copy !req
430. Bikers?Copy !req
431. Hm.Copy !req
432. Don Eladio...Copy !req
433. Mm-hmm.Copy !req
434. (SPEAKING SPANISH)
Ignacio Varga...Copy !req
435. Mm.Copy !req
436. Salud.Copy !req
437. Really?Copy !req
438. (BREATHES SHARPLY)
Really.Copy !req
439. How do you know?Copy !req
440. I talked to my guy.Copy !req
441. Lalo's in Mexico,
and he's stayin' there.Copy !req
442. But you said
he might call someone...Copy !req
443. He's not gonna do that.Copy !req
444. Your "guy,"
h-how does
he know for sure?Copy !req
445. He's not gonna tell me,
but he knows.Copy !req
446. And you believe him?Copy !req
447. Yeah, I do.Copy !req
448. So, we're safe?Copy !req
449. Yeah.Copy !req
450. My God.Copy !req
451. Oh, my God.Copy !req
452. That's great.Copy !req
453. It's great, right?Copy !req
454. So what's wrong?Copy !req
455. It's... It's over.Copy !req
456. This time.Copy !req
457. There's not gonna be
a next time.Copy !req
458. Kim...Copy !req
459. it's been a rough ride.Copy !req
460. I've been
thinking a lot,
and, um...Copy !req
461. We should probably just
check out and go home.Copy !req
462. I-I, uh, packed my stuff.Copy !req
463. I think I got yours, too.Copy !req
464. And double-check.Copy !req
465. We already paid
for the night.Copy !req
466. What about the spa
and all that?Copy !req
467. We haven't even tried
room service.Copy !req
468. Kim, don't you just
want to go home?Copy !req
469. "A veil of white cheddarCopy !req
470. "draped over
coarse-ground
Angus beef patty,Copy !req
471. "locally grown chili pepper,Copy !req
472. "house baked
sesame-seed bun,Copy !req
473. "served with golden-brown
shoestring potatoesCopy !req
474. "seasoned
with truffle salt."Copy !req
475. Truffle salt.Copy !req
476. I'm hungry, Jimmy.Copy !req
477. And there is nothing
to eat at home, anyway, so...Copy !req
478. Why not?Copy !req
479. So, I ran into Howard
at the courthouse today.Copy !req
480. Yeah?Copy !req
481. Told me something aboutCopy !req
482. bowling balls
destroying his car.Copy !req
483. Prostitutes harassing him
at lunch...Copy !req
484. For what it's worth,Copy !req
485. that all happened
before we...Copy !req
486. Before we got married?Copy !req
487. Yeah.Copy !req
488. You know why Hamlin
told me all that?Copy !req
489. It was for "my own good."Copy !req
490. Like... Like I'm just
waiting for himCopy !req
491. to ride up
on his white horse.Copy !req
492. It's...Copy !req
493. I-It's...
It's all about him...Copy !req
494. It's always all about him.Copy !req
495. The guy
is in love with himself.Copy !req
496. He needed to be
taken down a peg.Copy !req
497. So...Copy !req
498. What's next?Copy !req
499. You went after his car.
You went after
his reputation.Copy !req
500. So...Copy !req
501. I think maybe
the next thing is...Copy !req
502. His hair, right?Copy !req
503. Suppose... And I'm...
I'm just brainstorming here...Copy !req
504. But suppose
we slip him a mickey,Copy !req
505. and then, while he's out,Copy !req
506. we get out
the old electric clippers...Copy !req
507. Shave him bald.Copy !req
508. Nair.Copy !req
509. What?Copy !req
510. It's an old gag,
but, um...Copy !req
511. Sneak into
his country clubCopy !req
512. and put Nair
in his shampoo bottle.Copy !req
513. Then he takes a shower,
and...Copy !req
514. (CHUCKLES)
Hair falls out.Copy !req
515. Yeah.
Nice.Copy !req
516. Or... Or... Or, um,Copy !req
517. we pour a barrel of chlorine
into his swimming pool,Copy !req
518. so that...
Bleaches his hair
and his eyebrowsCopy !req
519. and everything.
Yes, yes, and the eyebrows.Copy !req
520. Or... Or...Copy !req
521. Or we break
into his house,Copy !req
522. replace all the fluffy
toilet-paper rollsCopy !req
523. with single-ply.
Ouch.Copy !req
524. Hit him
where he lives.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
525. Or whatever
tanning lotion
he uses,Copy !req
526. we replace it
with sunblock.Copy !req
527. (LAUGHS)
He gets in his
tanning bed,Copy !req
528. and waste of time.Copy !req
529. Or... Or...Copy !req
530. Or what?Copy !req
531. We'd never do it, but...Copy !req
532. Never do what?Copy !req
533. What if...Copy !req
534. What if Howard does
something terrible?Copy !req
535. (CHUCKLES)
Like he murders a waiterCopy !req
536. for putting butter
on his cauliflower?Copy !req
537. No, I mean really bad.Copy !req
538. Like misconduct.Copy !req
539. You know,
misappropriating fundsCopy !req
540. and, um,
bribing witnesses,Copy !req
541. something like that.Copy !req
542. You know what that'd mean
for the Sandpiper case?Copy !req
543. A big class action suit?Copy !req
544. It could tank
the whole thing.Copy !req
545. Cliff Main's hair
would be on fire.Copy !req
546. He'd get it settled.Copy !req
547. Pronto.Copy !req
548. He would?Copy !req
549. Yeah.Copy !req
550. Think about how much
they've put into that case.Copy !req
551. Almost two years
of work.Copy !req
552. If it fell apart now,
they'd get nothing.Copy !req
553. So, yeah.Copy !req
554. Cliff Main would take
whatever Sandpiper
was offering.Copy !req
555. I already tried like hell
to get Sandpiper settled.Copy !req
556. Yeah, but you went
about it wrong.Copy !req
557. Sorry, but
this is how you do it.Copy !req
558. And it's not like
the old folks'd get stiffed.Copy !req
559. If Sandpiper settled now,Copy !req
560. they might each get
15, 20 bucks less,Copy !req
561. but they'd get
their money now,Copy !req
562. while they can
still use it.Copy !req
563. And the lawyers
get paid.Copy !req
564. And the lawyers
get paid.Copy !req
565. How much of the common fund
do you get?Copy !req
566. We get 20%
of the common fund.Copy !req
567. I'm just... I'm...Copy !req
568. Forget it, okay?Copy !req
569. Okay.Copy !req
570. Hey.Copy !req
571. Hey.Copy !req
572. Have a seat.Copy !req
573. Hey, you did good
today, huh?Copy !req
574. Tomorrow,
I'll show you around.Copy !req
575. Mm.Copy !req
576. When you go back
up north,Copy !req
577. you're gonna be halfway
to being a Salamanca, eh?Copy !req
578. Thanks.Copy !req
579. Ah.Copy !req
580. Another night owl, huh?
You don't sleep?Copy !req
581. Mm-mm.Copy !req
582. Not tonight.Copy !req
583. Yeah, I never
sleep much.Copy !req
584. An hour, maybe two.Copy !req
585. It's enough.Copy !req
586. When it's like this?Copy !req
587. That's when I can think.Copy !req
588. I get my best ideas
when everybody else
is asleep.Copy !req
589. Some people,
they call it a curse.Copy !req
590. I like it.Copy !req
591. I don't know.Copy !req
592. I'd rather
get some shuteye.Copy !req
593. And yet, here we are.Copy !req
594. Got anything stronger?Copy !req
595. Now you're talking.Copy !req
596. In the bar, bottom shelf,
decanter.Copy !req
597. That's the good stuff.Copy !req
598. Two glasses.Copy !req
599. There he is!Copy !req
600. I thought you got lost.Copy !req
601. Ah.Copy !req
602. You ever had Louis XIII?Copy !req
603. I don't think so.Copy !req
604. Ooph.
You're in for a treat.Copy !req
605. To sleep
and those who need it.Copy !req
606. To sleep.Copy !req
607. What the hell is that?Copy !req
608. These morons
have no respect!Copy !req
609. Ciro!Copy !req
610. Ah!Copy !req
611. Ciro!Copy !req
612. Ciro!Copy !req
613. Ciro, Ciro.Copy !req
614. Ah!Copy !req
615. Ah.Copy !req
616. What do you want?Copy !req
617. I'll have a little
of everything.Copy !req
618. Actually,
leave off the mint chip.Copy !req
619. I set the alarm for 6:00.Copy !req
620. Since we have to check out
and go home before work.Copy !req
621. That's a solid
two and a half hours.Copy !req
622. Sounds good.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
623. So, what would
you do with it?Copy !req
624. (CHUCKLING)
I don't know.Copy !req
625. What would you?Copy !req
626. I'd hire Stef
away from Schweikart.Copy !req
627. I'd hire Bruce from HHM.Copy !req
628. I'd get Viola.Copy !req
629. I'd rent the smallest,
shittiest officeCopy !req
630. I could find
near the courthouseCopy !req
631. and open
a pro bono practice.Copy !req
632. Give regular people
the kind of representationCopy !req
633. usually
only millionaires get.Copy !req
634. I was gonna say
we'd buy a house.Copy !req
635. (CHUCKLING) Sorry.Copy !req
636. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.Copy !req
637. We could do both.Copy !req
638. Last I heard,Copy !req
639. Sandpiper was willing
to go to $26 million.Copy !req
640. (CLEARS THROAT) Wow.Copy !req
641. Um, a third of that
is $8.5 million.Copy !req
642. Mm-hmm.
And 20% of that is...Copy !req
643. Around $2 mil.Copy !req
644. Ah, but it's not
happening.Copy !req
645. Come on, Kim.Copy !req
646. (CHUCKLING) We're not talking
about a bar trick here.Copy !req
647. We're talking about
scorched earth.Copy !req
648. We would
have to hurt him.Copy !req
649. Hurt him bad.Copy !req
650. To get a bunch of lawyers
to run for the exits?Copy !req
651. Howard would have
to have done something...
Unforgivable.Copy !req
652. At the end of it,Copy !req
653. he might never be able
to practice law again.Copy !req
654. Ah, he doesn't
deserve that.Copy !req
655. And who knows
if we could pull it off?Copy !req
656. (CHUCKLING) Okay, maybe
we could pull it off, yeah.Copy !req
657. But we won't.Copy !req
658. We're talking about
a career setback.Copy !req
659. A career setback
for one lawyer.Copy !req
660. Yeah, and you could help
a lot of people.Copy !req
661. I-I get it, but...Copy !req
662. Kim, doing this, that...Copy !req
663. It's not you.Copy !req
664. Okay?Copy !req
665. You would not be
okay with it.Copy !req
666. Not in the cold light
of day.Copy !req
667. Wouldn't I?Copy !req
668. I'm gonna go
take a showerCopy !req
669. so I don't have to
in the morning.Copy !req
670. (CHUCKLING) Kim,
you're shittin' me, right?Copy !req
671. P-chew! P-chew!Copy !req
672. Bien.Copy !req
673. Bien.Copy !req
674. Bien. Bien, bien, bien, bien.Copy !req
